Well Hello There,

Dear friends & random readers alike! I invite you, one and all, to take a sneak peek into the musings of my mind.

Here we are in a new month of September and a new season of newsletters. Lately I'm finding that I enjoy my next writing idea finding me, rather than agonising over what to write about - though as you know, all roads eventually lead back to tarot or astrology, whatever the topic.

Sometimes I want to sound all professional and newsletter - esque ( that'll be the perfection of Virgo season kicking in as the sun activates my Jupiter). Other times I just feel like writing you a chatty letter, and well I guess that's where my vibe is at today. The most important thing is that I don't ditch writing outside of what I write for work and I do often do.

Speaking of ideas finding finding me, last month I was invited to a double bill recording of the Wheel of fortune. What a perfect show for a tarot reader to watch right? Now I'll be honest with you, I don't watch game shows too often at home only with family really, but I am slightly addicted to the buzz of being in a studio. It's such a completely different energy to my usual radio studio set up. I'm always intrigued to watch how a tv show is put together compared to the radio shows I work on. There's no hiding behind a microphone there, it was all lights, camera, action and the perfect place to be during Leo season as it was back then.

In tarot terms radio is almost hermit like because especially in my case it's just me - one person doing everything from arranging how I will produce my show, to filming guest footage usually with not many other people around unless one of my friends/ colleagues is around. There is also a bit of high priestess energy going on as I work in the quiet , unseen depths of audio intuitively deciding what will work in terms of the guests that I invite to take part in a show together and what questions I'm going to ask them.

The bright tv set with a giant spinning wheel on the other hand is pure sun radiating outwards energy!

Now in the case of this show it was extra special because it was being filmed for Australia. Meaning they flew over all the contestants from Oz. Apparently these days it's much cheaper to film these types of gameshow in the UK than Australia or America, it's bizarre really.

I always love getting an opportunity to see Graham Norton. He is smaller than you imagine him to be when you watch him on tv and he has great skin ha ha. I had VIP tickets this time so got to sit where he runs up and down the stairs at the start of the show. I just look at him and think of all the amazing people he has interviewed. I love how down to earth he is though. You know it's funny because even though I am in awe of the idea that the month before he was at Taylor Swift’s wedding etc I am actually happy with the fact that I don't interview conventional celebrities like he does, but rather before they become famous.

The really fun thing about this one was all the prizes were themed to Australian life like surf boards etc, and the questions are based on Austrian terms too. For instance I found out that ‘Thong’ is Australian for flip flops and gumboots are wellington boots lol. They stop the wheel way too many times and manually change parts of it like a jigsaw which isn't something you would realise when you watch it on tv.

Graham swore for the first time ever too because the wheel broke down a few times and he had actually had to film 6 shows back to back that day. Everyone was shocked but it was all in good fun lol. He also had to do a couple of costume changes. Apart from all that behind the scenes stuff I enjoyed hearing the Australian accents in real life, it's funny but they always sound so much more upbeat than your average manc I'd say lol but don't get me wrong I love the Manchester accent too! My cousin in Ireland actually lives close to Graham's family so hopefully one day in the future I might spot him living low key and popping to the corner shop, but till then it was fun to see him spinning the wheel of fortune and better still the contestant won 50,000 dollars which was wonderful to witness.

Right now astrologically speaking there is a feeling of the wheel turning once again. Not only are we in a change of season but Venus planet of love and self worth is it's retrograde shadow. This means it's getting ready to turn backwards and this is one of celestial influences that we are all likely to feel more intently. In terms emotional matters it feels a little bit like a wheel turning backwards. There is a lot to said about it's energy, but wherever you are at with your relationship you are likely to feel this shift.

Love can feel like a bit of a gamble at the best of times so expect to be more aware of this aspect of it's energy between now and November. Sometimes you encounter individuals who are addicted to the gamble of love without ever being ready to receive it's prize.

There is a danger in surrending to fate. Causing some to stop participating altogether. They wait for signs and perfect timing, for the universe to deliver love like a package to their doorstep. Others become addicted to the high, the rich of begining a relationship and the intoxication of chance. When the wheel slows and things become more steady and predictable they leave. They don't want love, they just want the excitement of the gamble, so if the wheel of fortune shows up in your love reading around about now these are some points to consider.

Most importantly are you open to what arrives…even if it doesn't match your plan?

If Jean grey ( the main antagonist in Spiderman’s brand new day) was to step inside my mind she would see someone who takes a slightly shamanic world view. I like to look at the behavior of animals and see what it teaches us about what we need to focus on right now.

Yesterday I was really touched by scenes of Elephants coming to the rescue of survivors from the crisis in Nepal. Although Elephant is now an animal of the land in times gone by they lived in languid rivers and cool limpid pools and the skills of this way of living were embedded in their ancestral DNA ready to come to the surface in this time of need during the flood.

Elephant teaches a strong message of unconditional love, wisdom of the ages and altruism. It was a powerful reminder of how the natural world in it’s own way is still part of our larger family ‘ and will always be there to support us us. Sometimes we need to accept their love instead of feeling so separate from it.

We are currently in moon in Pisces partial eclipse season and this is the phase of time where life is very much like a waking dream. It’s good to look at little signs you get from your every day world as you go about your little adventures in the next few days, especially noticing what signs you may receive from the animal and bird kingdom.

Befriending a wild animal is the 93^rd most popular dream out of the top 100 dreams and seeing those elephants reminded me of it’s symbolism. Also the day before I had a little encounter with a cute squirrel. It’s funny but when a squirrel or any wild animal just comes up to you like the way the one in the video did to me, you tend to feel like you’re dreaming!

If you ever have this type of dream it indicates that you are becoming more aware and appreciative of your intuition and natural instincts which just like the elephant is embedded in your DNA. We may be surrounded by tech but there is intelligence beyond that which is always trying to make it’s way to you if you can but stop yourself from blocking it out

It’s funny because if you look at the moon card in the tarot ( a great timing card by the way) you will see a dog(domesticated) and a wolf(wild) this is a reminder of the fact that animals symbolise our unconscious needs and natural impulses. We often try to tame them for fear that they will cause havoc, but if we don’t acknowledge them they may cause chaos anyway. I did feel this squirrel communicating with me in it’s own way.

The nature of the creature you are befriending highlights the part of your subconscious that you somehow need to more so accept. Elephant talks about how you are becoming more attuned to your own personal strength and the power of your life experience while squirrel talks about the importance of gather your resources just like the magician cards. These resources will sustain and support you through upcoming season of change.

It’s a time to look at what skills you have that are universal and transferable from one situation to another as you leap from ‘tree to tree like my squirrel friend. It’s a time to learn to be more adaptable.

We’ll have Venus going Retrograde soon, in fact it’s shadow starts from August 31^st this is going to be a time to look over our own self worth and values and see what we can learn from how we have previously viewed ourselves and how we can transfer that to the next wave of change.

So whether you see a animal on screen or real life in these next few days, it’s prime time to rap into some animal wisdom. Now obviously you don't have to believe that every encounter is a cosmic message but you can allow it to make you curious.

Ask yourself what is this animal/ bird showing me about myself? What qualifies does it embody that I might need right now?

If you're a Pisces or Virgo you are most likely to be feeling the impact of this season in the next few days, but don't forget wherever you have Pisces in your birthchart will somehow be influenced by the eclipse between now and next March. So watch out for

Heightened intuition and more vivid emotions

Old feelings and memories coming to the surface

Feeling less certain about what's real versus what you sense

Starting to see what you need to end or release

And at the end of a few days of foggy confusion you may find a moment of synchronicity or even a strange clarity!

Because during this eclipse season the boundary between the conscious and unconscious can feel wonderfully thin, life can feel like a waking dream and sometimes it's the animals who are reminding us how to dream.

Here we are officially in the second eclipse season of the month so to celebrate I thought I'd share something different with you today.

As you know I always like to experiment with how to tell an interesting story in the shortest time possible so today's flash fiction is brought to you courtesy of a 2 minute video - A modern fairytale I wrote about a young woman who is fed up of being single so she goes to see a tarot reader to find out when she's going to meet the love of her life.

Lo and behold it turns out that it looks like it's going to be tonight, but the reader wants that her new boyfriend may not be all that he seems but that doesn't stop her dreaming that he may be the one!

Ruth- Hi Mercury - Welcome! It's a big week for you. You've just moved into virgo as of August 25th meaning we'll all be under your influence till September 10th. I hear you prefer this placing is that right?

Mercury - Yes I do, Virgo is one of those signs that really gets me. We appreciate the same things like precision, efficiency and the correct use of apostrophes.

Ruth- Hmm ok that sounds a little…intense.

Mercury- It's more accurate than intense and there is a difference.

Ruth- You're the planet of communication, how are you affecting our communication style at work or with everyday tasks?

Mercury - I'm helping you become clearer, sharper and more interested in meetings even when an email would have been enough. You're likely to be checking details and small print twice over and asking better questions too. Under my current influence you notice things you would not normally be aware of . I'm excellent at editing, planning and problem solving so now is the time to polish off that rough draft and get any chaotic plans into order.

Ruth- What about general relationships with friends and family?

Mercury - You are likely to become more practical in how you communicate. Instead of saying I'm worried about you, you may ask have you eaten in today? Instead of saying I love you someone may show how they care about your health, or send a link to something useful. Virgo isn't sentimental but it's observant. It notices what is needed - sometimes even before someone realizes it themselves.

Ruth - So affection becomes administrative?

Mercury - Precisely, I call it love with a filling system.

Ruth- A lot of misunderstandings occur in romantic relationships due to bad communication. Is this better or worse with you in Virgo because I know you're a bit of a perfectionist now?

Mercury - Better…if you use me wisely of course. Virgo makes sure it gets clarity by asking what did you mean rather than quietly inventing an answer.

Ruth - Ah do you mean overthinking.

Mercury- I prefer the term forensic analysis

Ruth- Do you mean where we analysis a text on/ off for hours?

Mercury - yes don't over think an ‘ Okay’ in a message for being suspiciously conscise. Just ask, communication improves when we all stop pretending to be mind readers.

Ruth- What about our writing style? Do you have any advice for us?

Mercury - Edit ruthlessly. Then stop. Virgo is wonderful at refining your writing, removing unnecessary words and making your point clear. Just remember that perfection can become procrastination wearing an intellectual top hat.

Write the thing. Make it better. Cheek spelling and publish.

Ruth- so you help us to stop spending 7 hours deciding on whether the sentence should have one or two adjectives.

Mercury - one adjective is usually enough.

Ruth- I knew you were going to say that.

Mercury - well I'm usually right

Ruth- Can I get a quick one liner from you for each sign please?

Mercury- Sure

Aries- Think before you send the angry message. Sometimes just saying ‘fine’ or ‘whatever’ is just as bad.

Taurus - Just say what you mean. Silent resentment is still a communication strategy.

Gemini - You have 10 thoughts at once so just pick one and stick to it.

Cancer- Not every change in someone's text pattern is a personal rejection.

Leo- You don't need to turn every conversation into a speech.

Virgo - You can thrive this month without correcting everyone

Libra - Stop rewriting the message just send it.

Scorpio - Ask the question, you don't need to solve the mystery on your own.

Sagittarius -Time to read the small print.

Capricorn - This is an excellent time to follow through with your plans.

Aquarius - That brilliant idea you had, explain it to the rest of us in a way that's easy to understand.

Mercury - Yes, say what you mean, listen to what other people are actually saying and stop filling in the blanks with your own imagination. Clear communication isn't about perfect words it's about giving more attention to what is being said.
