Over the past two weeks Gold ($GLD), Silver ($SLV) and Copper ($COPX) broke decisively out of long-term consolidation ranges as the Israeli-Iranian conflict pushed safe-haven and hard-asset demand higher and AI has shown promising returns. All three printed cycle highs within days of one another in late January 2026, corrected sharply into spring, and are now rebuilding above their breakout shelves — each at a different stage of that recovery.

The question now is will precious metals revert back to pre-war levels or will they go mega bullish as they did in January 2026? In my personal opinion this breakout is mega-bullish.

Historical Snapshot

Historical Context

For most of 2023–2025, gold, silver and copper miners traded in wide but well-defined ranges, digesting the prior decade’s move. That consolidation broke in the winter of 2025–26 as the Iran conflict escalated: oil-supply risk, sanctions exposure and a renewed bid for non-dollar reserve assets pulled capital into hard assets simultaneously.

Strikingly, GLD and SLV both marked their cycle peaks on the same day — January 29, 2026 — a signature of a single macro shock (geopolitical fear plus positioning for a weaker dollar) driving correlated flows across the metals trio rather than three separate, idiosyncratic rallies.

Projections

• GLD — has given back about a fifth of its move from the January spike but remains up roughly 30% over the trailing year, with commentary pointing to gold building a base and reacting well to soft inflation prints and a cooler labor market — the classic setup for a second leg once real rates roll over.

  • We chart GLD trading within the range of $353.54 to $450.20 with a pivot/mid point of $401.87.

• SLV — is the most stretched of the three, still roughly 46% below its January blow-off top even after a strong recent rebound (SLV logged one of its best weeks in months in early August). That gap is the widest of the group, and because silver’s industrial demand (solar, EVs, AI-linked electronics) sits alongside its monetary bid, a re-tightening of that gap is the highest-torque outcome in the group if safe-haven and industrial demand realign.

  • We chart SLV trading within the range of $47.14 to $76.30 with a pivot/mid point of $61.72.

• COPX — has held up best, sitting only about 14% off its 52-week high and up nearly 90% over the trailing year. Chart commentary through mid-2026 has flagged copper miners testing the top of their 2026 downtrend, with a confirmed breakout opening a measured-move target in the $102–111 zone and a longer-run classical target near $128 — consistent with copper’s structural AI-driven electrification demand story layering on top of the same geopolitical tailwind.

  • We chart COPX trading within the range of $73.27 to $90.90 with a pivot/mid point of $82.90.

Opinion

It is my opinion that precious metals will reclaim their recent all time highs. I also believe they will trade in the ranges provided. Due to high volatility I would buy at the lower end of the range and take 50% profits near the high end. Overall I’m bullish on precious metals for the time being. Mostly due to the recent breakout from relatively long time consolidation to the upside.

Put it this way…

Gold is the ballast — lower beta, still-intact uptrend, first to fluctuate on any dollar weakness or renewed Iran-related headline risk.

Copper is the momentum leg — closest to new highs, carrying its own AI/electrification demand catalyst independent of geopolitics, and the name chart-watchers are already flagging for breakout continuation.

Silver is the reversion leg — the deepest discount to its own recent high, geared to both stories at once, and therefore the most volatile but potentially the most rewarding if the trio re-tests January’s highs.

RISK

● Geopolitical de-escalation risk — The entire trio re-rated partly on Iran-conflict fear. A durable ceasefire or diplomatic breakthrough would remove a key pillar of the safe-haven bid, especially for gold and silver.

● Rate-path surprises — All three commentary threads tie recent strength to expectations for Fed cuts and softer real rates. A hawkish surprise or sticky inflation print would pressure gold and silver more than copper.

● Dollar strength — A rebound in the dollar — whether from relative U.S. growth strength or safe-haven flows into the dollar itself rather than metals — works against all three tickers simultaneously.

● Concentration / correlation — Because GLD, SLV and COPX moved together into the January peak, they’re likely to move together on the way down too; this isn’t three uncorrelated bets.

● Miner-specific risk (COPX) — Unlike GLD/SLV, COPX holds equities in copper miners, so it carries company-level operating, labor and jurisdictional risk (its largest holdings span Canada, Australia, Poland and Chile) on top of the commodity price itself.

Recommendation

I highly recommend purchasing through Fidelity via a Self-Directed Rollover IRA. Here are steps to follow for those with 401 K's, 403 B's etc. They are extremely high now but on the next crypto downturn I would definitely plan to buy those listed below at the lowest price target.

I would say invest no more than 5%/10% of your retirement in some of these ETFs if you're wanting to play it safe/conservative. If you're more on the risky/liberal side I say 15%/20%.

Creating a Family Office — in Four Parts

Before you create an office you must define family.

I. The Family

World renowned wealth advisor, James Hughes defines family as, “two or more individuals who, either because of bonds of affinity or because of genetic or emotional linkage, think themselves as related to each other.” We adopt this definition.

Second, we define wealth. Hughes defines wealth as, “the intellectual, human, financial, and social capital held by a family.” We adopt this definition and consider these themes as assets to be calculated in your net-worth assessment.

Third, we define opportunity. Opportunity is defined as, “a set of circumstances which make something possible.” Opportunity is most often a result of wealth, networking, and timing. The interconnections of neural networking naturally evolves into higher level exchanges of information, knowledge, and ideas gives us first dibs on companies and products that have never been done before, like a personal computer in the case of Steve Jobs. 

Fourth, we must define timing. Timing is everything! For short-term planning families should plan for a decade in 3-5-10 year increments. For long term planning families should plan for at least four generations, or 100 years in increments of 10-20-20-50. As your wealth grows so will the strength, foundation, and stability of your family wealth and estate planning.

II. Wills, Trust, Estate & Tax Planning

“You live as long as the last person who remembers you.” There are several strategies which will allow you plan for the inevitable. Wills do not cover your bases when it comes to allocating your assets. Most individuals in families will create a Trust(s) with their lawyer and/or a nonprofit organization (GHPLC) as well as add the Trust(s) as the beneficiary to their life insurance policies. Families are also placing their capital gains in investments housed within Federal Opportunity Zones which allows them to recoup the capital gains after 10 years tax free, which is currently max 20% long-term and 34% short-term.

Of note, currently the most favorable jurisdiction for a Trust(s) is South Dakota. See Bridgeford Trust Company. If your family decides to create a 501 c3 nonprofit, Family Foundation, the most favorable jurisdiction is Delaware. 501 c4 nonprofits are relatively new and have yet to find a favorable jurisdiction, however, they allow for families to be politically engaged for causes they care about, such as the founder of Patagonia donating $3 B to a 501 c4. The differences and tax benefits between c3’s and c4’s are higlighted here.

III. The Financial Plan

The Family financial should include input from all members of the family. Opinions should be weighted by the experience and or credentials held by individuals in the family. The plan should be goals base with short-, intermediate-, and long-term goals. The initial assessment should calculate the intellectual, human, financial, and social capital of a family. Then moving forward, where does the family want to be and what does that look like? Four great prompts are, what is, what if, what wow’s, and what works.

Also included in this plan are Money Market accts, ETF’s, etc you select for your 401 (k)’s, 403 (b)’s, Roth IRA’s, and 529’s.

IV. The Right People on the Bus

Manager selection and due diligence will directly impact the performance of your Family Office. To recruit top talent the office must define its management structure and how involved the family plans to be in the day-to-day operations. Some families prefer to act as a board of directors and provide the broad strokes or direction to a CEO they hired to manage the office daily operations. Other families choose credentialed members of the family to manage the office with access to a plethora of consultants/advisors on monthly retainer.

Having the right people on the bus is just as important as the bus itself.

Decision: Buy now and sell once it reaches expected sell price of $85 a share.

Rationale: $MARA is a bitcoin ($BTC) mining company. As the price of $BTC fluctuates up/down so will $MARA’s stock price. Ultimately as Bitcoin strengthens so will $MARA. The fluctuations of this stock force us to call it short-term. In short, get in - get out and take profits, rinse and repeat. Think of this stock as investing in bitcoin without having to actually invest in cryptocurrency.

Optional Strategic Opinion: I project Bitcoin to hit $100,000 by the end of 2024. When that happens $MARA stock options contracts will increase exponentially. We strongly believe in purchasing calls into Dec 2024.* We’ve seen bitcoin increase by $30,000 over a week roughly two years ago. We see that happening again before Dec 2024.

Decision: Buy now and hold. This stock is severely undervalued with exponential unlocked value for shareholders.

Rationale: PLTR has the backing of the US federal government through several contracts issued from the CIA, DHS, and Defense Intelligence Agency. They are ultimately a data and tracking company. One of their former board members, Avril Haynes, was appointed to the National Security Advisor for the Biden Administration. We like them because of their tech, federal contracts, and recent billion dollar investment by Cathie Wood of Ark Investments Quarter 1 2021. 

Optional Strategic Opinion: CNBC Mini-Doc Amazon had the same trajectory as I see forming in PLTR. It wasn't profitable until it was and look at Amazons. Before Amazon was an online bookstore it was a data manager. Data is the new Oil and PLTR will make Rockefeller’s of the right investors.

Sector: Electric Vehicles (Car + Batteries)

Decision: Buy now and hold. This stock is severely undervalued with exponential unlocked value for shareholders.

Rationale: The unlocked value of this company is similar to Tesla. $NIO is a Chinese electronic vehicle and battery manufacturer. Their production numbers and car model options are consistently increasing quarter-over-quarter since 2020. I love their replaceable battery model which is opposite to the EV charging stations and conducive for overpopulated chinese nerve cities. The United States and China have committed to move to clean energy vehicles only by 2035.

Optional Strategic Opinion: $NIO understands Chinese culture in ways Tesla could never. Culture and traditions are important in Chinese deal and business making.They plan to expand to Europe next year.  The company has underlying support from the Chinese Government and Finance sectors which is important in China. 

I consider them the Chinese Tesla. For example, until Feb 2020 Tesla was trading at around $16 a share and went on to trade around $233 a share. I purchased $NIO when it hit $11 a share in July 2020. I see the same opportunity happening here.

Rationale: Learn about the company here. To keep a long story short I believe is the next U.S. Steel. As we all know U.S. Steel was founded by Andrew Carnegie, J.P. Morgan, and Charles Schwab along with two others. As the United States seeks to rebuild crucial infrastructure the need for innovative, long-lasting, and strategic investment of federal, state and local funds. The 2023 Biden Infrastructure legislation recently passed by the Congress and signed into law by the President offers billions in federal funding for next gen, cost effective, dependable infrastructure tech. The current corrections experienced in global markets are due to several global factors which impact U. S. Securities Exchanges significantly. With the rise of inflation, the movement from fiat currency to cryptocurrencies, the acceptance of the Yuan as trading currency in Saudi Oil nations. and the Federal Reserve planning to raise interest rates at least 4 times in this year offers strong support to the idea of a severe market correction on the horizon. Currently the United States Dollar USD is the only accepted currency for which to trade oil globally. This gives leverage to international sanctions and tariffs which could cripple the economies of countries and/or entire industries. If China should succeed they will have a strategic foothold of leverage power via their currency, just as the United States has enjoyed over the last two centuries.

Newfound economic power coupled with China’s military growth/modernization, as displayed in their recent actions in the, island of Taiwan along with their incursions into the free and navigable waters of the Taiwan Strait and South China Sea. Should we see President Biden want to step in and provide support to Taiwan similar to the support he provided for Ukraine markets will negatively react initially because of unpredictable Chinese reactions.

Of note, when I first alerted a buy for the $SPY ETF PUT contracts the ETF traded at $473 a share. When I gave an alert to buy those PUT contracts in Nov 2021 $SPY climbed to ~$490 a share in the following weeks and traced back to ~$420 a share all within a 4 month period. When $SPY hit ~$421 a share in late January I, 2022 sent an alert to sell. We were only there for a few hours on one trading day. However if you sold during that time your profits were exponential.

In March 2023 we released the FLOWERS FOODS trade idea below. Those who took advantage of that trade are now in profit between 150% and 500% of principle investment due to options contract volatility. Major congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are bullish on Flowers for two reasons. Commodity prices are at their lowest in nearly decade and new attacks by Ukraine on Moscow and other major cities in Russia are creating a an unstable sea change in markets impact the bread industry.

III. Decision: 

Ultimately I see this stock going to $24.75 a share by or before the beginning of Q2 2023. From there I see a climb to $30 over the next three quarters. If there was a time to submit buy orders for $25 Strike CALL option contracts for that time is now.

As you can see I began building my position in $FLO as it crossed below $25 a share. Since March 2020 (Covid-19 stock market flash crash) this stock has been unusually volatile, which often is stable and not fluctuating in the manner it has lately. With volatility comes the opportunity to secure profit.

What is BlockChain?

If you know me you know I seek to always provide perspective, timeline, and context. The TED TALK below basically lays out the evolution of Blockchain and crypto as well as its future.

Over the past few days two banks have failed in the United States alone. Due to high interest rates, the safest form of investment in the world (US government bonds and securities) have been unprofitable since Q3 2022 and subsequently have become a burden on the balance sheets of banks in the US and around the world. Foreign banks are feeling the crunch as well with Credit Suisse suffering a 25% loss in share price in early morning trading today — 8 days into multiple bank failures.

Japan, China, and the United Kingdom are the largest foreign holders of US Government Securities and Bonds. The largest domestic holders with stock tickers are Bank of America, J. P. Morgan, Wells Fargo, and Citigroup. (see article hyperlink) The volatility in the banking sector presents prime opportunity for short-term exponential returns on investments. So far the failures have been contained to regional banks however it could easily expand to larger banks as it did in 2008, 1929 and 1893.

In my research I’ve found these four additional banks share stark similarities in banking practices and portfolio construction as Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank. These banks are over exposed in venture capital loans, government securities and bonds, as well as severely over-leveraged.

If there were a run on these four banks the government nor Federal Reserve could not save them. They would most likely turn to the International Monetary Fund. If this happens a consequence most likely will be a devaluation of the Japanese Yen, Chinese Yuan, and British Pound to stabilize markets and international trade because they hold the largest government bonds and securities. In-turn the banks in those countries, ans throughout the world, with government bonds and securities will suffer as well.

To understand how we got here PBS Frontline provides a great documentary outlining how we found ourselves in the early days of a possible economic collapse laden with stark similarities not only to the financial crisis of 2008 but also the global financial crises of 1987, 1929, and 1893.

How can we profit?

Put option contracts are the best way to profit from the failure of a company and much safer than shorting a company. When one buys a put option contract only the principle is lost. When one shorts a company the lost of the principle plus an unlimited amount can be accrued if the stock rises when you expect it to fall. What is the S&P 500? - select hyperlink

As the old saying goes, “what goes up, must come down.”

I continue my bearish sentiment on the American economy for the time being. Why, because the S&P 500 hit an all time high of $490 in early 2022. Historically when this happens there is a severe market correction. For example, you can remember the housing and subsequent crash of 2008, preceded by the dot.com bubble of the 90’s. I am expecting at least a 35% market wide correction sometime before December 2024, we are currently fluctuating between ~15%/21% market correction from ATH to date.

$SPY Analytics:

As of the middle of Q1 2023, the S&P 500 has currently corrected roughly  ~20% from all time highs of $490 a share to $400 a share. I have strong conviction we will climb back to 490/530 a share by the end of Q2 2024 if big Tech continues their annual share buy backs which will increase share prices of the top holdings of the Standard and Poors ETF = Ticker Symbol: $SPY. They set a record of $1.2 Trillion in 2022.

Decision:

We are placing put option contracts on $SPY AGAIN now ($400 a share) and after it passes the 430’s if we swing to the upside. After which we will revisit the analytics. 

We strongly believe before we bounce back to $490 a share we will continue the downward trajectory experienced in recent weeks ending between $340 a share.

It bakes, markets, and distributes fresh breads, buns, rolls, snack cakes, and flour tortillas to retail food and food-service customers across the US. Fresh baked foods' customers include mass merchandisers, supermarkets and other retailers, restaurants, quick-serve chains, food wholesalers, institutions, dollar stores, and vending companies. Flowers Foods has 15 major brands, including widely distributed brands such as Nature's Own, Wonder, Tastykake, and Dave's Killer Bread and regional names such as Butternut, and Sunbeam. The company traces its roots to 1919.

$FLO Short: Making the case for shorting Flowers Corp. (shorterm):

In making the case I strongly recommend reading this article (published 2/12/22) where the author lays out reasons why we will see a correction in $FLO stock price. In short, he concludes that, Flowers Foods is a fine business, and I think the dividend is reasonably well covered. The problem, as usual, is with the stock. Investors are paying more, and getting less. The fact that the shares are now trading at a valuation ~40% greater than when I bought is troublesome in my view. I think shares were undervalued last April, and I think they’re slightly overvalued now. I think price and value can remain unmoored for some time, but will eventually line back up.”

Additionally, healthy fast food alternatives such as “Beyond Meat” were on the rise as more health conscious eaters were at home during the pandemic (2021-2022). Now that a good number of those folks returned to the office sales of Beyond Meat are down in their early adopters and so are sales of the healthy alternative bread items.

Ultimately I see this stock going to $30 a share by or before the end of Q1 2023. From there I see a sell off down to $20 over the next two quarters. If there was a time to submit buy orders for $30 Strike PUT option contracts for that time is now.

Innovation is on sale and we are buying!  As froth in these funds dissipate from their Covid-19 highs we see value in their long term rebounds and expect exponential, not linear, returns from these investments. We will hold these stocks for at least a decade due to their focus on innovation and current market sentiment. As market-wide investment trends move away from the future to the present we are buying shares as the price of the stock continues to go down and CALL option contracts when the prices bottoms out. Cathie believes in innovation.
