I have been struggling with sleep quite a lot lately, so this word vomit of a piece was heavily inspired by that. I really enjoyed writing this one, it is a little different from my usual ones here. I thought I´d give it a share here, maybe someone else can relate to this.

I bit into an apple,

the soft skin rotten,

drinking the shadows of my life forgotten,

the liquid regret traveled down my neck,

the taste of abandoned dreams and an unclear head,

I sunk my teeth into it once more,

searching for the familiar flavor that I missed,

beneath the brown where longing had already kissed,

aftertaste close like a heartache,

though leaving felt too much like a mistake,

I must keep biting,

I must keep chewing,

I must keep swallowing,

for I ate it not to taste life,

but to feel death dance on my lips,

for I hoped to see if I was loved plenty,

perhaps then ought I not to feel so empty.

last words fall like delicate petals,

that never learned the quiet voice of calm,

my footsteps stain the newly fallen snow,

unsteady,

I leave behind a trail of crimson,

like a kingdom,

where life never learned to talk,

my hair collecting each snowflake that falls,

symphoniously,

protecting them with the waves until death fiercely calls,

The snow melts into rivers

that travel down my arms,

undulous with no direction,

or a place to call home,

as the puddle now rests on my frostbitten palms,

I wonder,

if I’m dying,

or dreaming,

as the last petals drop,

my heart wrapped in hunter green vines,

my lungs with frost coated lilies,

that wither away with each painful breath of life,

as they come to learn they’re running out of time,

I welcome the biting air to live inside my lungs once more,

I hope the breeze invites life to stay in this frozen house,

that once kept beating like the heart of a fireplace,

whose warmth even the melting snow adored.

Sometimes even the prettiest of things must die in order for new life to arrive.

This poem was inspired simply by my favourite flowers, lilies.

I hoped I could have wept you back to the living,

drown death in the poison of my salty tears,

was the jealousy towards death for feeling your last breath that you took in these waves of death.

Posting this on my birthday!

I always feel called to write about love or the loss of it, as most of my poetry touches on both of those and I have always been called to the sea. With this one, I tried adding a little bit of the waves of the ocean and the sea salt into the wounds of loss of a loved one.

A knife is presented,

they both pretend to call ones name like a gilded destiny.

Then appears the royals of a crestfallen kingdom,

Then another pair crowned in indefatigable promises disguised as freedom.

Now one tells the truth, the other tells a lie,

only one of them gets to keep their life while the other has to die.

one dressed proud in silvered armor,

while truths are twisted and buried at the harbor,

the other stripped of pride,

by the songs they were hypnotized with tonight.

How can one choose whom to trust,

when both the songs are sung with a will of trust.

How can one choose whose blood to spill,

who is the enemy,

When their weapons share an intense similarity,

the flags they wave both dressed in promises of hospitality.

life has gotten busy even though I thought I had more time now since it is summer, so I haven´t had either the energy or will to get back to my world of words but I have returned with this one.

You ought to make a bed for it, flatten the unwanted creases of your past and the becoming ones of the future,

for only a moment will this honorable quest stay over, unless you gain its love to keep forever.

Sometimes love melts onto your palms, like the anticipated first snow,

leaving behind a puddle of liquid hope that slowly drips to the floor.

~

Sometimes love knocks on your door just to borrow some sugar, leaving your cupboard a little less sweeter.

~

Sometimes love falls asleep next to you, yet it flees away by the morning,

and you wake up to an empty bed, to a silent sunrise.

Love doesn’t always last, it doesn´t always stay,

sometimes you find it packing its things and rushing out of the door, leaving it open as if it had better things to run to,

someone else who deserves its attention and care more than you.

lies a silhouette of an eerie village that once was deemed not the oddest,

Yet now dares not even the wind visit the place in the nights coldest.

~

Its streets are cleansed of people,

who once incandescent of life shared a dance at the old steeple.

~

no lights peaking through the shattered windows,

those who once were dressed in bright colors and the frames were painted yellow.

~

no doors open to welcome in new life,

even the evergreen trees have died, withered away in passing time.

~

If you step near those wooden gates, unsure of what for you awaits,

You might hear a lonesome scream, better to pretend it was only heard in a dream,

for the lost souls that still guard the place, have grown angry at those who disgrace.

~

As time passes and the forests around the village grow, spreading the dark trees with the leaves stained in blood and ashes, of those who dared to enter through the branches,

slowly is the forgotten village buried behind the life that coats it with a blanket of wild flowers,

drowning in what once lived, now a under a curse the dead it stowed.

~

The vines wrap the houses under their care, so a living eye doesn’t have to meet the despair,

the world paves the path until it´s clear,

until the haunted village falls of power and forever disappears.

A lost soul under moonlight she twirled,

travelling through the ticking of time,

A veil of satin laid over her sorrowful eyes,

~

her lonesome cries kept wandering through the haunted towns at nighttime,

where given as an answer only a whisper of the past a voice sublime,

though unreachable was that whisper tonight.

She never knew where she was going,

She never knew where she had came from,

She only knew where she needed to go,

Yet she lost the path a long ago.

Now every mirror reflecting back a ghostly shadow,

Her own face screaming back at her paired with a heartbeat shallow,

She had once dared to hope for the sun to blind her with light,

Yet deeper she’d made her way into the marathon of time.

I caught a glimpse of the past,

of a feeling I missed, yet something I knew would never last,

of someone I used to know, something I used to be,

though all that I hold in my muddy hands is the time that flees.

I lovingly miss my childhood songs that have turned into memories, slowly forgotten melodies,

the people that have been buried into the dust of time, those who knock on my door no more, those I might only run into on a rush hour at my favorite store.

I crave to watch the movies that have left their worlds replaying in my head, I try to watch them over and over again,

just to feel how I felt when I saw them for the first time, the poetry in them, my favorite words that rhyme and the people who laugh, grieve and live just like I do.

I take up my shovel and dig the ground as far as I can, just to see if I could dig myself back to the moments that I wish to preserve for eternity, just to visit them once more, just to hold them in a place that´ll keep them safe,

perhaps then I too, would feel sane,

So bittersweet is the feeling of missing someone whose warmth makes the corners of your mouth twist into a loving smile, of someone who took a piece of you when they parted ways, of someone whose memory stings you painfully,

and those songs you still sing some days, the way you walk on the once familiar alleyways,

I wish to not fly away from this feeling,

never,

I want to be held tight within its thorns forever.

Here Lies Happiness

Slowly,

Steadily,

I try to catch the butterfly that flies far away from me,

yet I cannot reach its pace for its wings reach high above the maple trees,

So I let it fly.

I stand at the grave of my dreams I stopped chasing, for I found that I never wished for their saving.

I greet the happiness that they showered me with once,

I shake hands with it,

hoping that we stay in good terms,

hoping that it takes care of the forgotten wishes and blesses them with the same joy it blessed me with.

Then I let them go.

I dance around the promises, sealed shut with care,

I try to hear the silent whispers that once screamed loud,

I bury the happiness I no longer know,

I trade it to something else, something I don´t quite know yet what it is,

but it lulls me to sleep with a soft kiss,

yet it doesn´t feel the same,

it appears calmer and tame,

nothing like the dreams I buried in soil yesterday.

I Drowned My Sadness Into The Sea

I let the roaming waves of the sea wash clean the wounds of my soul,

the salty water stung as it carved open the closed wounds before it could melt them away.

I let the water run over me until the sadness that possessed me could breath no longer,

until the water washed away the somber,

until there was nothing left but a curious wonder,

for it had no room in me, a place to stay no more,

the sea would suffocate the feeling, to me it so swore.

For so long sadness had ruled me like a cursed kingdom,

where kings and queens lay deceased under the open window,

it crowned itself as the ruler,

I feared nothing could be claiming it crueler.

I grew sick of its words,

I grew tired of its hurts

No longer could I even sing with the birds.

I had found my way to stand in the sea,

in hopes that maybe I´ll be set free.

So I closed my eyes and wished it away, I asked the sea for it to convey.

It listened to my prayers,

left behind a sweeter flavor,

from that day on, I named the sea as my savior.

I wrote this as a celebration for reaching a hundred subscribers here, I still cannot believe that!

Sometimes there are certain emotions we wished to let them die, to wither away like the petals of a rose with time.

Or perhaps sometimes there are emotions that we wish to hold onto, yet they yearn for rest underground.

Let it go of what you must and welcome in grief for what you wish to not let go of.

When two souls are given a thread of fate that bounds them together though they have no image of each other just yet. A soul passing by another in the midst of a busy street, waiting in the same line of a highly anticipated concert or perhaps an application sent to the same school, holding the future with both hands not yet knowing it will bring you a light to accompany yours in the darkness of the unknown. - Sara

Chapter 1 - Before encounter

I was working at an art museum during my gap year when I got one of the best notifications in my life. I had just gotten into my dream school. I just went around the museum telling everyone I got in. I was so happy and immediately started to look for an apartment and started planning my move. I was so excited to start my studies in interior architecture and furniture design. I remember walking to the school rounds on my first day. I wasn’t nervous, just excited. I had mentally prepared myself to be by myself the whole semester just in case. I wasn’t really looking forward to meeting new people, just focusing on the studies itself. But, I think the universe had other plans. I walked into the auditorium and sat next to Sara and that’s when everything changed.

We were in the same groups at the beginning of the semester, everyday I would see her and sit next to her. One day however when our first workshop course started we started talking to each other more. Finding comfort in each other’s company while we were shaking in our boots learning all the new machinery. We started getting closer and spending time outside lectures and found out we had actually met multiple times in the past. We had walked past each other in concerts, been friends in an online game called Moviestarplanet for years. We knew about each other’s existence without knowing anything about each other.

In 2025 I had just finished graduating from art school, had gotten my final painting done for an art exhibition we had as sort of our “finals”. I knew by that time that I wanted to study interior architecture so I applied to a few schools that offered an education for a future in that field. I was on my summer holidays when I got a message that I had been anxiously waiting for the past few months and I got accepted in.

Reading that message felt like I had succeeded greatly, yet at first I was terrified.

Terrified of what my future would look like, having to start looking for an apartment since I had to move away from my home town and away from my beloved family. Leaving my siblings behind would be the hardest part about it since to me they have been like my build in best friends and I spent time with them daily. Leaving behind some of my bestest friends and not seeing them often would also be hard for me and at first it was.

I couldn´t find a glimpse of happiness just yet.

One thought that greatly horrified my introverted self was “Will I make any friends?” and soon enough that thought started spiraling into “what if´s” and worst case scenarios of how I would sit alone at lunch while everyone else would be laughing and bonding together, finding their lifelong friends as I was told you would in University or be the only one left without a group in a group project.

Little did I know my fears would be swooped away when I stepped my foot into a new life.

Chapter 2 - Declaring the destiny of friendship

We skipped the awkward stage of how many friendships have their start, which made it feel entirely like we had known each other for a greater time from the very start. It felt like we had met many times before only to come back to the realization that we had only been friends for just a week or so by now.

We firstly bonded over our shared love for metal and rock music, and I can still remember the first actual class we had together, it was metal and wood workshop where we made the machinery familiar and tested them out (it was a scary course) we laughed and supported each other through the new ship that sailed on a roaming sea.

We decided to go to an event together that was important in our field of study and work and after that we started hanging out after school more and more to a point that we hung out almost every single day for hours and hours and literally just went home to sleep.

We got to know each other better every day, sharing some of our fears and trauma and also the best moments and concerts we had been to and some embarrassing stories that kept us laughing until we almost grew six pack abs. I have never found such instant comfort in a person, nor would I ever have imagined stepping into Uni would I find a person so different from me, yet someone who balances out my personality in the best way.

I instantly felt comfortable hanging out with her. I could easily be myself and tell my bad dark humor jokes. I didn’t have to water down my personality and could be as weird as I wanted. Going to the event for our field of study made our friendship truly bloom, because after that trip we were hanging out every single day and talked nonstop. We talked about everything. We sang karaoke like we were in a bar drunk. We walked around the school hallways during our breaks, laughing so loud everyone could hear us.

During lectures we laughed through the shared academic pain and created many inside jokes that are still living to this day (aka domino joining machine accident at a workshop course). I never thought at the beginning of my studies to find a friend like her. We have spent so much time together and gotten so close to each other that it feels like we have been friends for years instead of less than a year. At this point we are living this life together, going to uni and doing a new side quest everyday. Laughing so hard that we never die.

Chapter 3 - Sun and moon

As individuals we are opposites. She is like the sun and I’m the moon. Our personalities, our styles, the way we express ourselves is really different. Yet, we share similar pasts, similar interests. I think we are perfectly opposites in a way that we compliment each other. We can learn something new from each other, find new ways of seeing life, new ways of thinking. We have spent so much time together that we sometimes even act the same and say the same things at the same time followed by laughter.

I feel like sun and moon describe us so well. I´m more talkative (if with the right people) and she listens when I ramble about nonsense or how I started reading a new book again or found another band to devote my soul to.

I find more colour in my wardrobe, while hers looks like it’s from Wednesday Addams, diving into a black hole. We are like the emo and the nerd.

My favourite colour is green and hers is blue, as if the earth decided to befriend the sky. I´m more emotionally expressive while she doesn’t like to show emotions too often. I love wearing gold jewelry while she prefers silver. I love hugs and she despises them. We are opposite by many things, yet we both have in ourselves the passion for life and something that makes this dynamic work almost effortlessly.

We can teach each other different ways to look at things, how to care and how to not care, how to enjoy life and walk through the challenges and still find something that is worth to stay for.

Chapter 4 - The red string theory applied to friendships

What is red string theory you may wonder. Red string theory is a belief originating from Chinese mythology in that there’s an invisible unbreakable red cord connecting people who are destined to meet. It is usually used in a romantic context, but we think this could also be applied to platonic love as well.

It was on a random Wednesday when we started thinking deeper, reflecting into our friendship and we mutually agreed it sounded heavily like we had been connected way before actually meeting, bound by a red string that strangely brought us in the same places at the same time slowly writing the destiny of a lasting friendship in the depths of the stars.

There was this feeling of familiarity we searched and found in each other and I started thinking that perhaps we were meant to meet all along.

I still believe that we were meant to meet.

Chapter 5 - The end

From both of us thinking we would end up alone when moving to a new city to build a future we ended up finding something so beautiful, so strong. We had our different approach to the possibility of loneliness followed by a new chapter in life, but we ended up finding each other. The story was written like the universe knew we were destined to meet, destined to end up in the same University and city.

We both ended up proving our “fears” wrong. Now we are creating new memories everyday, planning what funny side quests we are doing this summer. Laughing the moment we meet and crash out together over academic pressure. Helping each other and working on our abs by laughing in the quiet auditorium.

Walking through uncertainties we may find the way to the most valuable treasures through the passing of time, unapologetic and raw friendships that we can pray to last for a lifetime. Sometimes a person you are bound to isn’t a romantic partner, perhaps even someone better. A true friend who embraces the beauty of you through your flaws and cracks open the shell you buried yourself inside of.

Life feels a little less daunting when you have a true friend who walks the rocky roads with you until the very end of time.

Hi dear reader,

This poem preserves the present moment I captured between the sentences, the times we are too busy to notice what is now and far too deep into the worries of the past and the future.

“Carpe Diem” saying comes from Latin and it tells us to grab a hold of the present moment and enjoy it.

This sentence to me is a daily reminder I tell myself every single day, and my friends must be sick of me always telling them to “Carpe Diem” too, but truly I think we all need to seize the moment and to seize the day more often.

I hope whatever is keeping you from enjoying the present to leave your side soon and I hope that all is well within your life ♡

When forests on earth tenderly kiss the ground, where moss clings to the stone and refuses to let it go.

I found myself lost in the gaze of a green daze, travelling through the brown of comforting days.

Like ancient herbs of a loving witch, blessing you with the magic of a sunlit bliss,

when my gaze meets the sight of the hazel dream, the voice in my head now only a silent scream,

the kiss of the earth and the embrace of the soil, the colors wrap around me fishing the sun with a golden coil,

never had I thought eyes could feel like home, until I was met with those that held me like a honeyed poem

Blue

Swallowed by the ocean, I could be drowning in those eyes,

like the bluebirds gliding through the sky, your gaze kept me hypnotized,

dancing in a cave of sapphires, with emotions created with shattered pieces of

aquamarine tears, I was spellbound, banished away my fears.

cold as ice, with a glimmer of frost, the desired price,

The sea, so desperately it wants to take me, the world it wants to rip me apart,

though if once more I could be met with those blue eyes, maybe death would be a

little less feared, accompanied with light in a million fireflies.

Brown

Swallowed the sunset, in love drowning it dies, even the sun cried jealous of those caramelized eyes.

I felt them tenderly burn my skin, like a fire under a midnight moon when the light met them leading me to my blissful doom.

I craved the color that had left me way too soon, I thought when I faced you I would be immune,

yet you holding me captive in the depths of your eyes, in the rich color of brown,

like autumn leaves, hit by the sun, waking up the flames of desire it tries.

A reminder of a place I have never been to, yet I miss it like it exists nowhere,

the brown brought me warmth in the middle of this chaos, to the feeling of despair.

When I wake up from these dreams even if doomed, I wish I´d get to meet them everywhere.

Eyes, the windows to the soul hold many stories and emotions, tears of grief and utter happiness. I wanted to capture my perspective on these beautiful colors that we carry and see the world through with.

I can’t hear a voice but yours.

Your soul has taken mine, holding it captive with your wicked ways tonight.

My hands stained with ink,

so desperate I am to think,

how can I forget your voice when it sings identical to my favourite song,

how did I even begin to feel this strong.

Your name is carved into my heart,

You possibly cannot let me fall apart,

Your face is permanent in my sight,

though if it leaves me I’m afraid that I go insane,I truly might.

For you to see me as more than I am would be a gift I wish you’d learn,

perhaps alone I’d no longer have to yearn,

We could be like the crows in the castle,

sing together our songs haunting in the midst of a battle.

For your admiration I fought until I was no more,

for I truly admire you to my deepest core.

Apart from you I wished to never be,

so now I´ll hang down from this apple tree.

I now wonder if my soul will ever feel free,

for you have cast a spell on me.

I had a picnic with my feelings,

in the sunniest of rays,

in the loveliest of summer days,

I watched as my anger calmed down for a cup of sweet tea,

I let it breathe, I let it be,

I adored my happiness that ran among the butterflies under the wisteria trees,

I watched as it chased the bees,

I was accompanied by love to enjoy a piece of cake,

though every time it visited me I prayed it not to be fake,

I missed my sadness for not having the time to attend,

though I had no need to pretend,

that I was feeling enlightened.

I invited all my feelings,

in hopes they´d feel less alone,

and that we could dive together into this world unknown.

I could learn to love them and they could learn to love me,

perhaps then would we learn to dance in the same rhythm and sing together by the glistening sea.

I have been very busy and short in time lately and barely have had any time to write or post anything here.

Here´s a little poem and it´s roots are rooted in base notes of learning to be okay with your feelings, even with uncomfortable ones.

Invite them for a picnic, to stay for a while. Hear what they scream at you and then let them be.

a hater turns into a lover,

and a stranger becomes a life long friend.

Perhaps one day the forgotten will be remembered,

the question will write out it’s answer,

and the ancient echo finds it’s way out of here.

Perhaps one day the soldier won’t have to fight so hard,

the lost artist finds a path back to their beloved art,

and the musician grabs their guitar plays songs pouring out their precious heart.

Perhaps one day I too, find my way in this house,

in this staircase that I walk down now,

perhaps it will reveal to me of what’s hidden at the end of it.

Perhaps I’ll get lost in the way, I ought to, I must,

but maybe I will reach the end of it, I sure have hope and I believe in it, I trust.

life sometimes feels like a staircase, perhaps one that seems to lead nowhere.

We are so caught up in others, we forget to walk on our own path sometimes, and while it is good to think about the world, to be aware of things and people but please do not drown yourself in it.

A taste of something sweet, in the warmth of summer heat,

A beginning of a story, praying it shall not finish shortly.

In the golden honey that your eyes possess, how could I not let myself obsess?

For the sun ought to be jealous of, your eyes of glistening hope carried by such tender love.

I have watched how the sun sets, tasted the flavour of the tangerines,

I have flipped through all my magazines.

I have drowned in the waves of the salty ocean, drank the summer nights with you like a spell potion.

So easy it is for your heart divine, to accept the love I´ll give you tonight,

for it only lasts for a time so little, though I´ll promise to bury this in my joyful whistle,

Then I´ll write you a letter and seal it with gold, perhaps you´ll still read it when your soul grows old.

I hope while you do so you´d think of me, of how this summer of a dream made you free,

For now you were good toying with words, you sang them to me with the chirping birds,

for now you were good dancing with never ending promises, how you vowed them to me in the name of ancient goddesses.

You might have made me paralyzed, with those promises dangerously sweet and caramelized,

Now the sun yearns for your light as I do, the stars nursing your gaze when the night falls in too,

The house sits quiet underneath the moon, for this sweet summer had left us too soon.
