Hey friends!! Some of you know the news already, but the final day of Paper Pushers (print shop) will be September 13th.

We will be having a CLOSING PARTY on Sunday Sept 6th and would love to see you there! More details incoming but there will be DIY trading cards, shaved ice, and obviously tons of books. RSVP here!

Before we roll out we also have something like 5-8 more events at the shop!

Tomorrow, August 22nd — Draw the Block Art Market at Paper Pushers with vendors, artist, panels, workshops, live portraits, and a cafe!

Also tomorrow — We’re running a cyanotype table at Freeway Park’s 50th Anniversary celebration. Come by for free food and live music!

Our test run of this is tomorrow, 25 July from 12-4 and opens access to our multitude of machines, including:

• Our Perfect Binder - to glue a spine of a book together to create…a book!

• BIG paper cutter - to cut a large amount of paper

• Silhouette Cameo - to cut a sheet of paper into a specific sheet

• Epson EcoTank 8550 printer - my ❤️precious printer❤️ that can print up to 11x17 size pages

• Paper Lab - with some fancy papers (read: French) and fun papers (Kelly)*

• Block Library - with a bunch of pre-carved shapes for you to print with

• Woodzilla printing press - to PRESS paper…

• Linoleum blocks - (like….10.)*

• Lino cutters

*(additional material payment)

….and probably some other things! I will be on-site to help and operate machines, so feel free to come + learn about any tools. Projects that would be possible with these tools could be…: → custom notebooks (paper lab + big choopper), → card set (block library + press), → binding a WHOLE book (printers + perfect binder + big chopper)

We’re working on building out our second room for workshops and open studio hours! We have a bunch of equipment for bookmaking (like a BIG chopper, perfect binder, paper, etcetcetc)

Paper Pushers is a 6 month zine shop pop up at 1200 5th Ave! We’re open 11-6 Wednesday - Friday, and 11-5 Saturday - Sunday.

We’re hosting an after-after party for Seattle Art Book Fair on Sunday. Bring a puzzle if you’ve got it, or a mug to fill with hot drinks.

Browse our selection of zines, art books, and prints from artists around the world. While you’re at it be sure to grab a delicious drink from @pocket.dbs, get a portrait drawn by one of the talented artists from @drawtheblock.sea, and create some art of your own.
