Stop me if you’ve heard this one before.

On an international flight, an unknowing American carries a novel coronavirus causing flu-like symptoms into the interior of the United States. Health authorities attempt to control the outbreak, but are unsuccessful and the virus spreads across the country (and the world), causing panic as “experts” overestimate the lethality of the virus and use PCR tests to confirm infections. Soon, life is disrupted as this new virus dominates media headlines.

But there’s good news! In record time, a vaccine is developed to prevent infection from the disease. Government money and other resources pour into the project. Although the vaccine itself leads to complications — and the vaccine company can’t be sued for those complications — health authorities rally around this new treatment to “stop” the pandemic. Government declares the vaccine safe and effective, and launches campaigns to counter “misinformation” surrounding both the virus AND the vaccine.

You’re probably thinking I’m referencing covid-19, but I’m not. I’m talking about the SPARS pandemic, a fictional scenario written up by The Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security.

This particular report was released on October 23, 2017, years before anybody had even heard of covid-19. Yet it also eerily — though not perfectly — predicts our country’s pandemic response. Knowing what we know now, my jaw dropped a few times reading through this. As always, here’s the primary document so you can read along — or ahead!

First, let’s go over similarities between the fictional SPARS response and the actual covid response. In both cases, our primary knowledge early in the pandemic revolved around the most severe cases, leading in a wildly inflated case fatality rate. (Nearly 8 times the actual rate!)

This is important because it establishes the “experts” know early CFR estimates are likely to overstated, and as testing becomes more widespread, you “catch” the mild cases as well. This is very similar to what Anthony Fauci wrote at the end of February 2020:

During covid, however, public health officials continuously overstated the severity of the virus and, for the most part, ignored very obvious risk factors. Fauci (obviously) blames us for not understanding the messaging from public health officials.

"Did we say that the elderly were much more vulnerable? Yes. Did we say it over and over and over again? Yes, yes, yes. But somehow or other, the general public didn't get that feeling that the vulnerable are really, really heavily weighted toward the elderly. Like 85% of the hospitalizations are there. But if you ask the person in the street, they may say, 'Oh, yeah, elderly are more vulnerable, but everybody's really vulnerable'—which is true, but to a much lesser extent."

“Somehow or another the general public didn’t get the message” is sort of laughable in retrospect. (Apologies for reposting this so quickly, but this video is a perfect reminder of WHY the general public didn’t get that message — because that wasn’t the actual message!)

In both scenarios, a vaccine was developed in record time, driven by demand caused by the inflation of the CFR. And in both scenarios, the pharmaceutical companies were given immunity for their products under the PREP act.

After each chapter of the exercise, the writers offer questions to further discussion among participants. In this case, the questions all involve getting a hesitant public on board with taking a rushed vaccine.

This gives you an idea of where their heads were at — and why they so quickly pivoted to the “vaccine” being the way out of covid-19. (When you tell the model that vaccines work, the model tells YOU that vaccines work!)

These public health officials also focus on resistance groups and how to persuade them to get the shots. They note these resistance pockets will often be minority groups, and officials need to offer special outreach to those groups.

(You’re going to want to remember that for later.)

Six months into the pandemic, the American people were starting to realize that SPARS wasn’t as big of a threat as it was hyped up to be. They were, by and large, beginning to move on with their lives.

Of course, that was completely unacceptable, so the government kicked up messaging to “remind” everybody that we’re in the middle of a pandemic.

In perhaps the most bizarre coincidence, the report discusses a fictional rapper who sticks his foot in his mouth by declaring the people experimented on at Tuskegee were volunteers instead of unknowing guinea pigs.

Why’s that a coincidence?

Weird, right?

But it’s at this point in our hypothetical pandemic that government realizes it must do more to control the information flow, including by partnering with celebrities to make statements on their social media pages.

(Any of this ringing a bell?)

Once the vaccine was ready to be distributed, one giant hurdle remained:

THOSE DAMNED ANTI-VAXXERS!

These anti-science idiots started spreading dangerous ideas — like maybe natural immunity from contracting SPARS was preferable to getting a vaccine without long-term safety data. (Can you imagine?)

Government officials heroically overcame this resistance by telling the truth and offering up RENOWNED GLOBAL HEALTH EXPERTS. (No word on if he declared himself “The Science.”)

But still, vaccine uptake was slow among specific groups. At this point, government commandeered much of social media, to ensure Americans weren’t exposed to DANGEROUS MISINFORMATION.

Here’s one of those very informative questions again!

(Not asked but insinuated: Why do we need to form those partnerships NOW, before a pandemic occurs?)

But — and who could have seen this coming??!?!? — it turns out the vaccine DID cause significant side effects. (If only those damned anti-vaxxers hadn’t noticed the lack of long-term safety data!)

Well, whatever it was — we know it wasn’t the shots. Right?

After the release of the vaccine, the pandemic slowed considerably. But that didn’t stop those evil conspiracy theorists from badmouthing the government response — or even making up lies…like the virus had actually escaped from a government lab!

That would never happen!

Although the SPARS Pandemic report mirrored the future covid pandemic very well in some ways, there were some major differences. Nowhere in the SPARS response did the government restrict the mobility of citizens via lockdowns. Nowhere in the SPARS response did the government close schools — even though kids had HIGHER risk than adults. (Unlike covid.) Nowhere in the SPARS response were masks encouraged, much less mandated for school children. Nowhere in the SPARS response did government mandate the vaccine, even though it actually WORKED, unlike the covid shots. And nowhere in the SPARS response were the unvaccinated treated as second-class citizens, unable to attend specific places or events.

Additionally, in the SPARS report, government encouraged alternative treatments, even though it was eventually proven that those treatments weren’t very effective in treating SPARS. This stands in stark contrast to the way that government attacked alternative ways to treat covid.

But perhaps most important, in the SPARS report, the information provided by the government was by and large correct. This stands in WILD contrast to covid, in which our public health authorities were simultaneously trying to cover their tracks about gain of function research in Wuhan AND hiding the fact they were trying to cover their tracks.

This is getting long so I’ll wrap this part up by wondering aloud if this pandemic exercise biased our experts into thinking the created fiction of the SPARS pandemic was applicable to covid, despite the obvious differences. While it’s obviously great to have some sort of plan, having a plan also makes you predictable — and thus makes you easier to manipulate. It’s possible these types of exercises gave Anthony Fauci and his not-so-merry cabal the confidence that public health agencies would rally around his proposals — and by the time we figured out what happened, it would be too late to reverse course.

Next, we’ll take a look at what the authors of this paper did when the “real” pandemic started. Spoiler: I bet you already know!

Every medical decision is a careful evaluation of risk vs. reward — and because everybody has different health circumstances, this should always be an INDIVIDUAL choice. While it might have made some sense for older, high-risk individuals to get vaccinated, the vast vast majority of people (especially working-age people most heavily affected by lockdowns) needed no help to beat covid.

Yet throughout the pandemic, “experts” downplayed the reward of the vaccine, while simultaneously overhyping the risk of covid. Public health experts gave the public bad information, and by and large the public believed the lies. If the “experts” had been honest from the beginning, how many people would have made a different decision about getting the jabs?

We’ll never know, because those “experts” were acting as the media arm (along with the actual media) of Big Pharma, which was obviously cashing in BIG on the fear. Instead of presenting the honest truth, the agencies we were told to trust spun an enormous web of lies.

So when it was announced that Moderna’s new mRNA flu vaccine was approved by the FDA, I dusted off my Grandma-killing “Doing my own research” hat and took a look at the data myself.

Before we get into the actual data of the study, I think it’s important to articulate some of its shortcomings (especially as it pertains to quality data). First, and most importantly, Moderna’s mRNA shot was compared to the “current” flu shot. Not only does this “normalize” a flu-shot-level baseline of adverse reactions, but the effectiveness of the flu shot varies widely from year to year. During the 2024-2025 flu season, a large study of healthcare workers at the Cleveland Clinic even showed NEGATIVE efficacy — meaning the vaccinated were roughly 27% MORE likely to get the flu than the unvaccinated.

This makes it even more vital that the mRNA study contain an actual control group given saline shots — especially considering Moderna’s study ALSO occurred in the 2024-2025 flu season! Compared to a vaccine with negative efficacy, ANYTHING is a benefit — you could chug grape Kool-Aid every day and be more protected! (From the flu, not diabetes.)

So perhaps it’s not surprising that Moderna’s mRNA shot DID protect participants better than the standard flu shots. (Maybe it’s even coincidence it was roughly 27% more effective!)

But one of the things we learned during covid is how the “experts” like to conflate RELATIVE risk reduction vs. ABSOLUTE risk reduction. When we’re dealing with small numbers, even the tiniest difference in the data can be overblown by turning it into a percentage.

So what I want to know is the ABSOLUTE risk reduction. And here we find it:

In case you’re part of the majority of Americans who hate word problems, I’ll spell it out: Participants who received the standard flu shot got the flu 2.8% of the time. Participants who received Moderna’s new shot got the the flu 2.0% of the time.

To put it another way, consider a group of 1000 people. Even if we stipulate the numbers are correct, everybody getting the mRNA shot rather than the standard flu shot would result in 8 fewer people getting the flu. (20 vs 28)

That’s the reward. 8 people out of 1,000 don’t get the flu.

But what is the risk to gain that reward? Turns out, it’s quite high:

So to save our 8 people from getting the flu, we need to subject all 1000 people to an increased risk of serious side effects, including death!

But don’t worry about that death part, just narrow your statistics to the first 28 days and watch the problem disappear!

Weird how when discussing adverse effects, suddenly the experts rediscover absolute values and don’t use relative risk values. Probably a coincidence. But no amount of torturing the data makes it disappear.

So to save our 8 people out of 1000 from getting the flu, we’re instead subjecting an extra 337 of them to localized adverse reactions such as pain and swelling. We’re subjecting an extra 277 of them to systemic adverse reactions including vomiting and chills.

Does that seem like a benefit to society at large?

Is the reward worth the risk?

The last thing that caught my eye in the report was when they were discussing individual cases of serious adverse reactions after the shot. This patient developed myocarditis, but the FDA declared it unlikely to be related to the vaccine, because typically mRNA shots give you myocarditis within a week.

It wasn’t long ago stating the fact mRNA shots may lead to myocarditis was a conspiracy theory and would get you thrown out of polite society. Now the fact that mRNA shots may lead to myocarditis is an excuse to dismiss mRNA shots leading to myocarditis.

What are we even doing here?

During the height of the pandemic, Morens deliberately used unapproved back channels to communicate in secret with his co-conspirators. Morens himself specifically states numerous times these communications are to overcome future Freedom of Information Act requests.

Examples:

What would they be talking about that he doesn’t want to show up in the New York Times, I wonder?

No doubt Morens admitting the crime in his own communications led to his decision to plead guilty. And while this is undoubtedly a great development, there were other people involved in this conspiracy who ALSO need to be charged and sentenced. Morens was just one (the dumbest) part of the puzzle.

We know for sure Anthony Fauci was secretly communicating with his buddies regarding Proximal Origins, and it seemed to be a fairly open secret that nobody should send him anything incriminating on his work e-mail.

Edited to add this email between Morens and Peter Daszak, in which Morens claims that Fauci is “too smart to let colleagues send him stuff that could cause trouble” — meaning that everybody who regularly conversed with Fauci knew the rules.

It doesn’t take a genius to guess why the “experts” wanted to communicate in private — they didn’t want the world to know what they were discussing! From covid origins to vaccine effectiveness to vaccine side effects, the “experts” happily banned anybody who went against the official narrative — even while they were privately worried about the same issues.

Fauci even ignored the pleading of Acting FDA Commissioner Janet Woodcock when she expressed concern about serious side effects following covid vaccination, including in people she personally knew:

This letter is informative not only because Fauci was ignoring the highest-ranking “experts” in the land, but also because Woodcock notes that studies must be done to wrap our heads around the situation — but Big Pharma would OBVIOUSLY not support such an undertaking.

Which is probably why those studies never happened, and Fauci continued to lie to the American people about the safety and effectiveness of the shots. He (and Woodcock, too!) sat by while Joe Biden mandated the shots for millions of Americans — most of whom didn’t need any help to beat covid. (Indeed, this is why they lied and said “Nobody is safe until we’re all safe.”)

The job of public health officials is to provide true information. It’s not to lie to cover their gain-of-function research. It’s not to lie and tell us the virus came from a market when they knew better. It’s not to lie about who needs the vaccine and what it does. Give the public true information and allow the public to act on it.

But time and time again, the “experts” chose to obfuscate (at best) and flat-out lie — all with the overarching goal of getting shots in arms. And because they knew they were lying, they were ALSO forced to censor anybody who WAS providing correct information. (The shot not preventing infection or transmission being the main culprit.)

Given that we now know the “experts” will lie about perhaps the most important event in our lifetimes, it’s not shocking that the public widely distrusts them. In fact, we actually said lying about the covid shots would have disastrous ripple effects throughout the country.

Just add that to the (huge) pile of stuff we were right about when it mattered.

While Dr. Malone’s article relays the substantive information about this issue, there’s one piece of the puzzle that he — along with the rest of the media — missed. While pregnant women WERE excluded from the two original major vaccine trials, some of them slipped into the trial anyway.

That’s where our story begins.

Back in January 2025, I wrote about Florida’s Grand Jury completed covid report. This report goes over many of the establishment’s…uh…“mis-steps” surrounding our country’s covid response — mainly (and correctly) focusing on the certainty with which our “experts” declared something to be (or not to be) true based on limited data.

Tucked in the middle of this report was a section about the covid vaccines and pregnancy. (Page 53 if you’re reading along.) In this section, the report states that experts declared pregnant women were at higher-than-normal risk from covid, but that the data wasn’t robust enough to know for sure.

(No doubt, some of this confusion was our insane decision to count anybody with a positive covid death as a covid death or hospitalization. Being pregnant is the most common reason people go to the hospital, so there’s no doubt that many of the “covid hospitalizations” we see below were simply pregnant women going to the hospital for pregnant-woman things.)

So while the issue required more study, both major vaccine trials specifically excluded pregnant women:

Pfizer's 1001 trial excluded all "[ w ]omen who are pregnant or breastfeeding[,]" and Moderna went much further, only allowing "female participants of childbearing potential" in the P301 trial who:

• [had] a negative pregnancy test at Screening and on the day of the first dose[;]

• [had] practiced adequate contraception or [had] abstained from all activities that could result in pregnancy for at least 28 days prior to the first dose[;]

• [had] agreed to continue adequate contraception through 3 months following the second dose on Day 29[;] and • [were] not currently breastfeeding.

But, as I mentioned above, in both trials, pregnant women slipped in.

Despite these safeguards, pregnant women made it into both flagship trials anyway. We know this happened because some of them had miscarriages. The 1001 trial saw three "spontaneous abortion" events (read: miscarriages) in the placebo group against six in its BNT162b2 group during its blinded period, and eight more in its open label period for a total of 17 miscarriages. These adverse events somehow did not make it into any of the articles published in the NEJM regarding the safety and efficacy of BNTl 62b2. The public only knows about them at all because, legally, Pfizer was required to eventually publish the results of the 1001 trial on ClinicalTrials.gov.

Pfizer wasn’t the only one burying the data:

P301 had a similar issue, reporting two "spontaneous abortions" in its placebo group and two in its intervention group during the blinded period. As the trial went on, P301 saw more of this adverse event, recording a total of 11 events during its open label period and eight more during its booster phase; a grand total of 23 "spontaneous abortions." Somehow, none of these results made it into the journals either; and once again, the only reason we know they occurred at all is because Modema finally had to report them in December of 2023.

Of course, it’s POSSIBLE that these adverse events simply followed the normal miscarriage baseline. (More about that later.) The fact that miscarriages occurred in the trial doesn’t mean the shots were responsible.

HOWEVER, once the pharmaceutical companies were aware of this signal, the proper thing to do was to MAKE IT PUBLIC — not bury the data until after it was far too late. Then, determine exactly HOW MANY pregnant women were in the trial in the first place. There’s no indication that was ever done.

This exchange with a Pfizer representative sums up the situation:

Q. And would you agree with me that the way to build confidence would be to do a trial and to bring women in early pregnancy in and see if that result was a real result or a statistical anomaly?

A. I think, again, the opportunity affords itself given that the recommendation was made generally that you get that with a lot better precision based on observational data that's available through the monitoring done by the CDC.

Q. So if you're doing it based on observational data, the women, then, who are creating your observational data have no idea, right, what's going to happen, because you don't [have] the observational data until you've given it to a whole bunch of people; right?

A. Yeah, the observational data is after, obviously, you've given it to people.

Q. So they became test subjects?

A. Right. But, again, I think the nature of what you're defining here on a limited number of our individuals, in our judgment, the judgment by the FDA, it was not—it was not judged a good idea to hold women hostage based on this limited amount of data where the incidence and the whole likelihood is at or below the expected rates of seeing spontaneous abortion.

Regarding the bolded: without knowing the total number of pregnant women in the trial, WE HAVE NO WAY OF KNOWING IF THIS IS TRUE! There were supposed to be NO pregnant women in the trial in the first place!

The best thing would be to commission a real study to gather data. And that’s what Pfizer did in February 2021.

That trial was set to conclude in January 2023, but that wait was unacceptable to the “experts:”

While Pfizer was enrolling pregnant women to participate in this trial, however, the gears of the United States public health apparatus were already in motion. The CDC's Advisory Commission on Immunization Practices (ACIP) and the American College of Obstetrics and -57- Gynecologists (ACOG) had opined early on that COVID-19 vaccines should not be withheld from a woman on the basis of her pregnancy status, framing it in as something akin to a civil rights issue. In June of 2021, the NEJM published an article entitled Preliminary Findings of mRNA COVID-19 Vaccine Safety in Pregnant Persons. The authors of the article used surveillance datasets from VAERS and V-Safe to conclude that:

“[e]arly data from the v-safe surveillance system, the v-safe pregnancy registry, and the VAERS do not indicate any obvious safety signals with respect to pregnancy or neonatal outcomes associated with COVID-19 vaccination in the third trimester of pregnancy. Continued monitoring is needed to further assess maternal, pregnancy, neonatal, and childhood outcomes associated with maternal COVID-19 vaccination, including in earlier stages of pregnancy and during the preconception period. Meanwhile, the present data can help inform decision making about vaccination by pregnant persons and their health care providers.”

This finding, just like the findings from MMWR, came with two long paragraphs detailing the preliminary nature of the results, the inherent limitations of the VAERS and V-Safe datasets, possible bias in the data reporting and the possibility that the cohort-which was primarily composed of healthcare personnel who found themselves in the highest priority group for COVID19 vaccination-may have been nonrepresentative of the population as a whole. At the end of July, however, the ACOG and the Society of Maternal-Fetal Medicine (SMFM) both advised their member doctors to "enthusiastically recommend vaccination" to all pregnant women, citing "evidence demonstrating the safe use of the COVID-19 vaccines during pregnancy from tens of thousands of reporting individuals over the last several months, as well as the current low vaccination rates and [a] concerning increase in cases." Soon after, in early August, the CDC changed its advice, which had been neutral, to affirmatively recommend vaccination for pregnant women.

Of course, the CDC was never actually neutral on the subject — the agency was acting like a Big Pharma hype man throughout the pandemic. Case in point:

Then in June 2021, the CDC's head of vaccine safety published a paper in a world leading medical journal concluding that "preliminary findings did not show obvious safety signals among pregnant persons," citing passive surveillance data collected on nearly 40,000 women.

The major issue here is that we really don’t have a great baseline for the percentage of pregnancies that end in miscarriage to begin with. Best estimates put the number somewhere between 10% and 20%, but it’s perhaps even higher because many occur before the woman knows she’s pregnant.

Given such a humungous baseline range, what would even COUNT as an “obvious safety signal?” 30%? If the “proper” baseline is 10% and the jab DOUBLES this, would that signal even show up? Obviously not.

None of this is to say that we know or don’t know if the shots increased miscarriage rates. (Especially in early 2021) But what we DO know for sure is that privately, the “experts” were considering this possibility while leading the charge to censor anybody who dared speak up publicly.

In this case, many of the people being silenced were women sharing stories about how the shots affected their menstrual cycles. And unfortunately, this perfectly tracks with the way the “experts” handled every aspect of the pandemic. Whatever they said became The Truth, and anybody who dared step out of line was attacked — sometimes with de-platforming, but sometimes with the power of medical licensing boards behind them.

Which is why it’s ALSO so frustrating to hear “Well the CDC only RECOMMENDED the shot,” as if they permitted a wide-ranging debate on the matter. This meme was originally about the schools, but it pertains to doctors just as much:

This is why trust in public health is collapsing. In nearly every major point of contention surrounding covid, the “conspiracy theorists” have been vindicated by the private words of the experts themselves! Yet at every turn, they hid this vital information from the public, all so they could get more jabs in arms. If they’re willing to lie about something as life-changing as the covid pandemic, what wouldn’t they lie about?

If you’re crazy enough (or East coast enough) to be awake, watch and comment live as Fauci (probably) forgets everything he ever did and has no idea what anybody is talking about.

I think the chance Fauci faces criminal action is very low, but if America can (finally) see that “Saint Fauci” was a lying charlatan this whole time, I’ll sleep a little better tonight.

Paul starting out with a powerful summary of what Fauci knew (the virus was probably a lab leak) while lying to the American people about the original gain of function funding and the fraudulent proximal origins paper.

Now switching up the argument to Fauci’s double-talk about what gain of function research actually means (this is the easiest lie to prove, IMO) and how Fauci conspired with co-workers to delete and emails.

Senator Peters now up, calling the entire hearing a sham and declaring that Paul has been calling for accountability against Fauci for years. (It’s almost like we’ve known Fauci has been lying for years.)

Peters complaining we’re “looking back” at the past — as if the covid era has even been addressed in the slightest. (We can’t learn anything if we’re not honest about what happened.)

Fauci now making an opening statement, talking about how wonderful he is and how many awards he has. (Note: Fauci does NOT look good today. Shaking while talking.) Rambling about how Paul is obsessed with him (probably because he’s a rock star), and therefore he’s going to invoke his Fifth Amendment right to not answer any questions.

(This is where things get interesting.)

Paul: Dr. Fauci, do you have an answer for this horrible allegation?

Fauci:

This is NOT a good look for Fauci, it’s allowing Paul to dominate the conversation and making Fauci look like a coward for not even answering if there’s a folder in front of him.

Peters back on the mic, fearmongering about future pandemics and how Orange Man is Bad.

Now Peters proclaims that hundreds of officials were involved with covid, and it’s not fair to single out Fauci. This is true. Prosecute them all.

Senator Johnson up now, he’s sure to drag Fauci though the mud on this. He starts with VAERS and other obvious safety signals that Fauci covered up because the true information would lead to “vaccine hesitancy.”

Fauci declines to answer all questions.

Senator Hassan now apologizing to Fauci for Rand Paul being a big meanie head, while mentioning that Orange Man is Bad.

!!!Surprise Elon Musk name drop!!!

Senator Lankford with a very reasonable summary of how Fauci’s “recommendations” affected millions of Americans. Loved ones died alone, churches were shuttered, kids lost years of learning, etc. He’s upset we won’t be getting information about these decisions today.

Senator Blumenthal up now, trying to re-write history and claim hospitals were overflowing. (This was only true in places that sped up their curves by infecting all the at-risk at once.) Claims we (MAGA?) call nurses “woke.” (I have never once heard this.)

Senator Scott calls Fauci an egomaniac liar and brings up how Fauci and Morens conspired to conceal information from FOIA requests, including using personal email. He has the receipts.

Fauci pleads the Fifth.

Senator Kim takes over and gives yet another tongue bath to Fauci. I hope young democrats out there see what’s happening right now — Senate Democrats would rather defend Fauci than get to the bottom of what happened to them.

Senator Hawley now up, asking Fauci simple questions (what day is it?), but Fauci is stuck pleading the Fifth on every single question. Hawley claims that Fauci isn’t allowed to plead the Fifth because he’s got a pardon. He’s the first one to bring up that Fauci pushed for people to nominate him for (and win) cash prizes.

Senator Fetterman (in a suit!) now describing the challenges of being Lt. Governor during the pandemic. Discussing the lab leak theory and wondering why it became partisan. (We know from Fauci’s emails that he ran to the Democrats for cover from Rand Paul, and that ensured Democrats would not be interested in getting to the bottom of covid origins.)

Senator Moreno asks Fauci what the Fifth Amendment says. Fauci takes the Fifth. Moreno asks again. Fauci takes the Fifth again. Moreno lists many of the stupid covid policies and their effects on Americans, while Fauci remains silent.

Edit: This passage was too good not to clip.

Senator Ernst declares that Americans no longer trust public health, and for good reason. She notes that Fauci pushed harsh covid restrictions (tiplines, closed schools) and Americans deserve answers to why that was. She accuses Fauci of funding gain of function research in the Netherlands and Wisconsin.

Senator Moody is up now, recounting how in Florida they fought back against the lockdowns and empowered a grand jury to investigate covid. (I went over this grand jury report here.) She brings up how Fauci told Americans not to wear masks, but later claimed that recommendation was to save the masks for healthcare workers, not to protect Americans. She also brings up how the 6-foot rule “sort of just appeared.”

Rand Paul now up again, highlighting how Fauci was saying one thing in public and another in private. He plays a video of Fauci downplaying the lab leak.

Senator Johnson up again, dovetailing on Paul’s mention of natural immunity. This leads to Johnson reading testimony about hospital protocol and medical personnel knew Remdesivir was extremely dangerous, yet it remained the standard of care.

During Senator Scott’s second round, he highlights Bill Gates and asks if Fauci funded or collaborated with Gates. Fauci obviously takes the Fifth.

Rand Paul declares that because Fauci has a pardon he can’t take the Fifth, therefore the committee will be holding a contempt vote next week.

I worked long and hard on this summary of the hearing — Fauci pleads the Fifth 110 times. (111 if you count his opening statement.)

Conan once declared the answer to the headline’s question to be "To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women!" But he was wrong, too.

The real answer is a functioning plumbing system. (I’m sure Karen Bass agrees.)

Thus, today’s best news must be the return of our functioning plumbing system! To give you an idea of the extent of the issue, here’s just one room — the problem ran the entire length of the house.

Obviously the job isn’t finished but the situation’s no longer at emergency levels — some touchup and sealant and nobody will know the difference! (Unless they look.)

That’s the highlight of his day! (And mine, too!)

This week was the anniversary of the infamous “Pine Tar Game,” in which Royals slugger George Brett seemingly hit a go-ahead home run against the hated New York Yankees. However, the Yankees had a trick up their sleeve — knowing that Brett was using too much pine tar on his bat. After the homer, the Yankees informed the umpires, who called Brett out — ending the game.

Brett did not take it well.

Four days later the decision was overturned, Brett’s homer was allowed, and the game was ordered to resume in the top of the ninth with the Royals leading. (Without Brett, who was ejected for the above outburst.)

But even the resumption of the game was filled with drama, as the Yankees attempted to appeal to the umpires that Brett and UL Washington (the player on base) never touched the bases on Brett’s homer. The twist was that none of that day’s umpires were assigned to the start of the game — they obviously didn’t see if the runners touched the bases.

However, umpire Dave Phillips produced a notarized statement from the original umpiring crew stating the runners HAD touched all the bases, and the Royals won the game 5-4, almost a month after it had started.

The Pine Tar Bat is on display at the Baseball Hall of Fame. (Though it travels around often.)

“When you elected me to a seventh term and made me our Commonwealth’s longest serving Senator, you did so trusting that I’d keep showing up to fight for you every day. And over the past several weeks, Elaine and I have appreciated both your well wishes and your honest questions about what was keeping me away from the Senate.

“You all know how folks of my generation often hesitate to share the vulnerability that comes with growing older. Even in the public eye, I feel that same instinct – I can’t help it.

“But at the same time, I’ve had more than my share of experience with physical vulnerabilities. Surviving childhood polio meant spending my entire life with mobility challenges. They haven’t exactly gotten easier to manage with age. And last month, I took a fall which landed me in the hospital.

“My doctors have confirmed that I didn’t break any bones or suffer a concussion. I didn’t have a heart attack or a stroke. I don’t have any tumors or hemorrhages. But I was briefly unconscious and was taken to the hospital. While receiving excellent care over the past several weeks, I’ve also had to deal with a mild case of pneumonia.

“I can assure you that I’ve been a good patient. At my age, I tend to do what my doctors tell me to do. I’ve submitted to every test they can think of to help figure out what caused this incident. And I’m continuing to do everything they ask to speed my recovery. In fact, with signs of continued progress, I’ve been able to move from hospital care to a rehabilitation center where I’ll keep regaining my strength.

“As much as it frustrates me, this process takes time. And on the advice of my doctors, I won’t be able to return to the Senate floor to vote quite yet. But rest assured that, in the meantime, I’m not taking a break from the Senate business that matters to you. I’ve been working closely with my legislative staff on current issues, and with my Kentucky team who help me provide timely constituent services across our Commonwealth. I’ve also been keeping in touch with my Senate colleagues on the appropriations process, midterm politics, and everything in between.

“You’re right to expect your representatives to work hard for you. And part of my decision to retire at the end of my term this coming January was being honest about the demands of Senate work. But I still have unfinished business to complete on your behalf, and I have every intention of finishing the job you elected me to do.

“I’ll keep working hard to get back on the Senate floor as soon as possible. And I’ll keep you posted on the progress of my recovery. Until then, I’m so grateful for your prayers and well wishes.”

Preliminary findings in the death of Lindsay Graham suggest the Senator died of an aortic tear due to cardiovascular disease.

The Senator just returned from a trip to Ukraine. Graham had been in the Senate serving South Carolina since 2003, and was running for re-election during the midterms. During his career he served as Chairman of the Senate Budget Committee and also sat on the Senate Committee on Appropriations, Senate Judiciary Committee, and Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works.

Around here, we feature a lot of working dogs, but they’re rarely INDOOR working dogs like this good boy!

As fate would have it, Venezuelan native Jorge Guevara won the drawing — and immediately donated his half of the jackpot as well!

With a winning ticket, Guevara won $13,679. But he never went back on his word. He quickly told the Royals that all of his winnings would go right back to the relief efforts, so the organization could donate the full $27,358 raised before and during Tuesday’s game to Venezuela, as the country recovers from two consecutive and powerful earthquakes that devastated communities in Caracas (Guevara’s hometown), La Guaira and surrounding areas on June 24.

“All I could think when I purchased the ticket, I was just praying: ‘God, help me win this so I can send the money back home,’” Guevara said. “So we can make it happen. This is my hometown. From the beginning, it never was my money. It was God’s money; it was Venezuela’s money. Everything worked out for a reason. I feel like I was chosen, and it’s my time to make this bigger.”

Today, the Royals had Guevara throw out the ceremonial first pitch (to Royals legend Salvador Perez, of course).

Perhaps inspired by Guevara, the Royals scored in every inning they hit and won the game 15-1.

Finally, there’s an upside to disappearance of physical media:

It’s probably for the best. I’ve been on the waiting list for that thing for AGES.

While the rest of the world is barreling toward WEF-controlled tyranny, in America we have so far managed to resist the efforts of the globalists to turn us into yet another economic zone.

But it’s also important to remember that the struggle for America didn’t end on July 4, 1776, when the Founding Fathers signed a piece of paper. The British didn’t just roll over because of flowery words on a sheet of paper — independence still had to be earned with hard work. (And lots of bullets.)

We’re lucky that (so far), we haven’t had to go that far to protect American freedom — we have the privilege to write flowery words and organize get-out-the-vote drives with like-minded people. But the political work to be done is (almost) as important as actual battles against the British. Enjoy the fireworks for America’s 250th Birthday, then let’s set about to ensure America as we know it has a 300th Birthday as well!

You wouldn’t know it from my posting rate, but it’s been a busy week around Screaming into the Void! Although I didn’t quite make yesterday’s deadline, I’ve got a preview of the upcoming midterms ready to go, and my story that was originally about the UK rape gang report is now (at least) a three-part saga. Additionally, I finally dug into the fishy circumstances surrounding 2024’s very early presidential debate! But before we can get to all that, we’ve got to get through today’s positivity post! (My hunch is we’ll need it after tomorrow’s SCotUS ruling on birthright citizenship.)

It wasn’t a great day at the Supreme Court, but I was very happy to see SCotUS smack down the government’s use of geofencing — the practice of hoovering up cell phone data from anybody in the vicinity of a crime (in this case a bank robbery). The court ruled this effort constitutes a “search,” and therefore runs afoul of the Fourth Amendment.
