Hi , Its me … I am the women who collects handbags and jewlery. But my favorite thing to buy right now is vintage Levi’s.

Not just because they feel rare. Not because they’re expensive (I have scored some of mine for 15 bucks and some for 500). It takes luck and love of the “game”.

They demand patience. They rarely fit perfectly on the first try. They ask you to imagine what they could become instead of what they are in the dressing room mirror.

Maybe that’s why I love them.

For many years I worked in fashion, surrounded by new collections, models on runways, samples being sent to tne office and the constant pressure to want what came next. Every season promised a better version of style. A new silhouette. A new wash. A new “must-have.”

And somehow, after all those years, I keep coming back to a pair of jeans made decades ago

Vintage Levi’s don’t try very hard.

They don’t stretch to flatter you. They don’t promise to sculpt your body. They don’t come with marketing copy about lifting, shaping, or contouring.

They simply exist.

And maybe that’s exactly why they feel so luxurious.

Luxury, at least to me, has never been about something looking expensive. It’s about something feeling inevitable—as though it belongs to you before you even put it on.

The best vintage Levi’s become less like clothing and more like old friends. They soften where you’ve lived in them. They fade according to your life instead of someone else’s. They tell your story one wear at a time.

I think that’s why I trust them more than almost anything new.

Fashion moves at an exhausting pace. Every month we’re told a different leg shape is “back.” Skinny jeans are over. Skinny jeans are returning. Barrel jeans are essential. Wide legs are timeless—until they aren’t.

Vintage Levi’s don’t care.

Note - you also have to not care about the tag/ size depending on the fit (my favorites are Levis 501s and sometimes 505). You are notgoing to be fitting into your regular size and you just have to get over it. Do not get in your head about it.I find most women look fabulous in them just look past the silly tag! Just trust the process your ass will thank me later.

Some of my favorite women dress by the ‘no rules rule’ or ‘no trends trend’. You almost don’t notice what they’re wearing at first because nothing is trying to impress you. The clothes feel lived in. Collected. Certain.

That’s the kind of style I’ve become interested in.

Not perfect.

Not precious.

Just deeply personal.

I own beautiful things that cost far more than a pair of vintage Levi’s ever did. But somehow it’s the denim I reach for now more than EVER.

Maybe that’s what great style is.

Not wearing the most beautiful thing in your closet.

Wearing the thing that reminds you who you are.

And for me, more often than not, that’s an old pair of Levi’s with faded knees, imperfect seams, and a history I’ll never fully know. .

The funny thing about vintage is that someone else lived in them first.

The beautiful thing is that eventually, they become entirely yours.

Then evening comes.

The edit is simple:

• The T-shirt comes off

• The sweater becomes the top

• Heels go on

• Jewelry appears

Same clothes. Same woman.

Different intention.

That’s style.

Not replacement — reuse.

If something already makes you feel good — on your body, in your life, in your mirror — your job isn’t to abandon it. Your job is to learn how to use it better.

For those who do not know// are new //i was a senior level model agent in NYC.

It came with a shorthand: long days, sharp opinions, beautiful clothes, a city that rewarded ambition and stamina. It was who I was, how I introduced myself, and how the world understood me.

Then I became a mother.

Then I got sick.

Then everything unraveled.

I left my last job when my son was about eighteen months old. On paper, it looked like a choice. In reality, it felt like a quiet collapse of everything I thought made me me.

Around that same time, my health disappeared.

I’ve been battling Lyme disease for three years now—three years of exhaustion that doesn’t respond to sleep, invisible pain and the inability to trust your own body. The body stopped cooperating with the pace I once prided myself on keeping.

Losing your physical health is destabilizing in a way that’s hard to articulate until it happens to you. It’s not just pain or fatigue—it’s grief. It’s mistrust. It’s waking up in a body you no longer recognize and wondering how much of your old life you’re allowed to miss. To add to my crazy work addiction, Ive been an athlete since I could walk. including a college sport (overachiever). I could always trust my body to deliver before Lyme. My physical body could do anything - extreme hurdles and hit goals when i put my ‘mind’ to them.

And when your career and accomplishments have been built on taste, confidence, and momentum?

The loss hits twice.

I didn’t just leave a job.

I lost an identity.

I went from senior-level model agent to stay-at-home mom almost overnight. From being surrounded by colleagues and creative energy to nap schedules and pediatrician appointments. From dressing with intention for meetings to dressing for survival. But here in my world we don’t do sweatpants. I am always a little fancy..

And no one really talks about the emotional whiplash of that transition.

There’s a cultural script that says motherhood should be fulfilling enough to replace everything else. That you should feel grateful. That wanting more—or wanting different—is indulgent.

But here’s the truth: I loved my career. I love my son. And I was grieving both at the same time.

What surprised me most wasn’t how much I missed fashion—it was how much I missed creating. Having a point of view. Putting something into the world that reflected my taste, my experience, my mind.

When your health limits your physical world, your inner world gets louder.

TikTok started as a low-stakes experiment. A place to talk about clothes without pretending my life looked the way it used to. Substack followed because I needed somewhere quieter—somewhere I could finish a thought.

What emerged wasn’t the version of fashion I left behind. It was something softer. More discerning. Less trend-chasing, more truth-telling.

I trust my style more now than I ever did when fashion was my job.

Because it’s no longer about approval or relevance—it’s about resonance. What feels good on this version of me? What feels honest in this season.?What’s worth repeating when your energy is finite and your priorities are clear?

I’m learning how to be present, with grace, and with a lot more compassion.

This chapter isn’t polished. It’s not aspirational in the traditional sense. It’s slower, quieter, and deeply human.

And maybe that’s the most fashionable thing I’ve ever done.

My life looks and feels different, less opinions, stronger instincts, less performance and more presence. Style that meets you where you are instead of asking you to be somewhere else. If this season of life has taught me anything, it’s that refinement isn’t about excess—it’s about care. And sometimes, care is the most luxurious thing of all

Then my life changed

I’m at home now (and in the suburbs - shocking - i know) , raising a son. My days run on snacks, schedules, and walking out the door quickly — but with intention. My relationship to style didn’t disappear. It refined itself.

Mixing Zara and Chanel isn’t a styling trick. It’s how I dress for the life I actually live now. FYI!! Feel free to replace Zara with anything OR brand that is your favorite and Chanel with anything that is an investment. This is just my so called recipe!

The fastest way to make an outfit feel confusing is dressing for a version of your life that no longer exists. Luxury doesn’t need justification — but it does need context. Zara stepped in where my old wardrobe stopped making sense. Chanel stayed, but differently. The shift wasn’t about downgrading. It was about editing.

When I worked in fashion, Chanel often carried the look. Now, it finishes it. Chanel works best as punctuation, not the headline.

Let Zara Be Functional — and Quiet

Zara gives me clothes I can move in, wash without fear, and live in without ceremony. Zara exists to support the life I’m living — not distract from it.

If removing the Chanel makes the outfit fall apart, the foundation was never strong enough. Chanel is the final step — not the reassurance.
