Happy weekend! I hope your eclipse hangover is clearing. Thursday marked the end of the Pisces–Virgo eclipse series, an extra-long eclipse story that began back in September 2024. But its conclusion was not the tidy ending many of us may have been unconsciously anticipating.

Along the Virgo–Pisces axis, the eclipses engage a process of shifting our relationship to navigating the macro and the micro. In Pisces, we swim in the waters of the everything. The territory of Pisces places a high value on the process of making meaning. Pisces is interested in the big questions: Why are we here? What does it mean? What’s the grand vision for my life, for ALL life? How do we expand out, include more, and infuse depth, generosity, virtue, and meaning into every effort? Pisces strives to make life into more than the sum of its parts. But Pisces can also detach from reality, lose track of the details, or cling to the vision without an adequate plan.

Meanwhile, Virgo hyper-focuses on the details. Virgo hones in on its goals through a microscopic lens. Virgo can make a plan and stick to it, but in its effort to maximize efficiency and perfect the process, the Virgo nature can lose track of the why and the bigger vision. In short, the two polarities need each other; when they work together, they generate “the why” AND “the how.”

Since 2024, the eclipses have corresponded to a kind of growth in the Virgo–Pisces axis of our lives. For some of us, this may have been a subtle internal shift; for others, a tangible externalized effort, goal, or project—but in either case, it has required us to toggle between these two ends of the axis: between the deep, meaningful vision and the practical details required to bring it into reality. But this process also may have created a distortion: the idea that we can construct the perfect plan, that we can know where we are headed and what it all means.

But on Thursday, the final eclipse in Pisces served up a profound but potentially unsettling end to this story. The eclipse, in a near-perfect square to Uranus, became a lesson in disruption. The entrance of Uranus into this conversation insists that the most powerful actor in all our games and the most powerful author of all our stories is the unexpected. Uranus reminds us that we will never make a perfect plan, and our understanding is always only partial. Meaning is never fixed. The goal never defines the end; it only ever motivates the journey.

Uranus reminds us that our capacity is largely defined by how we respond to disruption. Can we tolerate uncertainty? Can we work with what is present? Are our meaning-making reflexes nimble enough to incorporate the gifts of what we did not anticipate?

I am incredibly excited about this workshop because it represents the formal, public beginning of work I have been dreaming about doing for many years, which is to offer unique, innovative tools and methods for working with astrology in a way that improves our relationship to the planetary intelligences and the patterns they represent in our lives.

Pluto can be a profound challenge for so many of us. Pluto represents deeply embedded fears, compulsions, and patterns of avoidance. In honor of this very Pluto full Moon, I am releasing a conversation I recorded with Theresa earlier this month. I meant to post this episode two weeks ago, but I was swallowed up first by finals (summer school, ew, gross) and then by my birthday, which was not just any birthday but was, in fact, my 40th birthday—a milestone for which I felt a sort of uncharacteristic reverence that I didn’t know how to meet or what to do with.

I ended up spending the day with friends and family, and the next morning my boyfriend took this photo of me eating cake for breakfast on the couch. The photo made me smile because, as a child, I was notoriously unable to keep my eyes open for pictures, and I felt, somehow, like I could reach through the image of this forty-and-one-day-old lady into the heart of my inner child (who, by the way, has ALWAYS loved chocolate cake as much as the photo suggests).

My boyfriend has a theory about kids who can’t keep their eyes open in family photos. He says these little squinters are the “good” kids—the attentive, hyper-attuned, eager-to-please children who wait with their smiles and faces camera-ready while the rest of the group gets wrangled and wrestled into order. By the time the camera flashes, the good kids miss the moment; their eyes flutter shut from the fatigue and unnatural straining. I have no way of assessing the accuracy of his theory, but it certainly falls under the category of feels true. And yesterday, as I relistened to parts of Theresa’s and my Pluto conversation, I felt a powerful kinship with the good little kid inside me and a reverence for all the transformation she’s undergone to get to where she is today.

The truth is I still am the good kid. I am terrified of messing up, of disappointing others, of being misunderstood. There is a part of me that still wants to smile when it’s time to smile; to get the best grades; to be the perfect homemaker; to embody the pleasing visage of feminine grace my mother hoped and prayed and begged of me. But my life had different plans for me.

In this episode, Theresa and I dive deep into all things Pluto, but if I were to sum up the Lord of the Underworld in one line here, I would say Pluto represents the layers of deeply held, conscious and unconscious fears that barricade our path to transformative change. His transits tend to correspond with one or the other side of this process: encounters with the fear and/or experiences of transformation.

This morning, the Moon reaches the apex of her fullness at 6 degrees of Aquarius in conjunction with Pluto, opposite the Sun-Jupiter cazimi. It also happens to be a full Moon on top of my natal Moon, which, for those of you beloved astro nerds who are paying close attention, means I am currently in the throes of an extended Pluto-Moon transit. Pluto has become my Moon’s multi-year bedfellow, and today takes a highlighter pen to this very long transit, the transit I believe represents the real force underlying the heavy reverence I felt about turning 40, as well as the weepy, yearning love I feel for that good kid inside me.

Robert Hand described the Pluto-Moon conjunction as a powerful transformation of the most intensely personal and preconscious part of the psyche. I was born with Pluto in Scorpio in the 12th house, and I suffered from extreme anxiety and terrifying intrusive thoughts as a child. For the most part, this went unnoticed by others because—hello, Saturn, planet of boundaries and responsibility, on my Ascendant—I wasn’t much of an externalizer. I kept my complaints and feelings to myself.

What were the root causes of my childhood anxiety? Probably a lot of things, but fundamentalist Christian day-school is high on my list of prime suspects. I was, for better or worse, both an innately spiritual and innately serious child—a perfect storm of vulnerabilities that resulted in my taking the greatest hits of Christian fundamentalism much too much to heart at far too young an age.

You were born wrong, bad, sinful, broken. Your mind is not to be trusted. Your heart is corrupt. God can save you, but only if you think the right, rightest, most righteous thoughts and remember to ask forgiveness for the wrong thoughts! That is, if you have time and you don’t get caught sinning with your bad, broken mind at the very end—which is totally near, scheduled for a time nobody knows, except for… this fucking thief in the night guy?

To a large degree, the 12th house represents the unconscious mechanisms of our psyche that color our experience of our innermost selves. The 12th house contains places of retreat, experiences of isolation, and the mental states and physical places we enter into during forced and voluntary solitude. Sometimes I think of the 12th house very simply as what being alone feels like. And as a child, being alone was the fucking worst. Alone is when my mind would begin to swirl and struggle against the rip current of the underworld. Pluto, through his fear-inspiring religious actors, had managed to isolate me almost entirely from myself. I couldn’t trust my own heart; I feared doing wrong; I feared harming others; I feared the end of the world; my mind projected violent, intrusive images of the worst things I could imagine. I felt trapped in a prison inside myself, all the while smiling when I was meant to smile and doing my best to project my perfect, rule-following trustworthiness.

In my forty years of life, Pluto has moved through three houses in my chart, and my relationship to these early childhood experiences has transformed and evolved. I no longer feel the acute pain that raged within me throughout my 20s and 30s; I have come to accept that an intense relationship with spirituality is part of my path. I wish it had not started with harm and religious trauma, but the intensity never stopped; it transformed into a deep, profound, personal, sensory, heart-centered relationship with the Divine. And when Pluto opposed my Sun for nearly three years in the early 2020s, I cultivated a unique and personal spiritual practice that I might not have gotten to if I hadn’t had the harm to press up against with all the force of my unyielding anger and indignation. But my spiritual practice didn’t fix everything. In fact, the most consistent effect of my practice is that it reveals what has yet to be resolved and routinely sets me down new paths of healing, equipped with the internal and external resources I need to help me change myself. (This, by the way, is my definition of grace, but that is the topic of another essay.)

What is relevant now is that even though my spiritual trauma is much healed and largely transformed, I am still working on the raw sensations beneath the Christian schoolgirl story. As transiting Pluto comes to sit on my Moon, I am still learning to trust myself. I am still cultivating an inner sense of my own goodness. I am still interrupting both the impulse to seek external validation and the extreme pressure I place on myself to perform—to be insightful, to say only the right, correct thing, and never the wrong, accidentally harmful thing. And as Pluto transits around my chart, he will always bring circumstances to the surface that will threaten to isolate me from myself. How I respond to those circumstances determines if Pluto will tug the knot tighter or loosen its hold.

When I turned 40 last week, I moved into a Mars profection year. Mars is a troublemaker, but he is also my favorite of the planetary deities. I love him like you love a brother you’re always fighting with. Mars never holds back—not on criticism, conviction, or love.

On the eve of my birthday, I went into meditation and found Mars inside myself. I asked him to help me face this very Pluto-Moon year with grace and determination, to help me move through the world with more courage, and to help me overcome the patterns of dissociation I’ve been running since childhood. I asked Mars to help me learn how to stay in my body when I want to eject, to follow through, to fight for myself, and to believe in the value of my own work.

And this, to me, will always be the real value of astrology: not to determine what will be, but to help us strive toward what we wish to become, with the aid of beings who exist beyond us and within us. Between them, they hold expressions of every quality—the familiar and the unfamiliar, that which comes naturally and that which feels distant and inaccessible. We have access to so much help and so many teachers. It is a wonder to live this life. Thank you for being here with me on this very Pluto Full Moon.

In a way, July began two days early. If you felt a jolt of psychic whiplash course through your mind and life early this week, you’re not imagining it. Mercury stationed retrograde on Monday, Mars moved into Gemini, and Jupiter has finally exited Cancer after a long residence in our moon’s tidal kingdom. Each of these shifts is significant, and each represents complications and activations of the new outer planet order.

We know that change is the only constant, but there are times when change feels terrifyingly tangible, when change takes center stage and becomes undeniable. This month has the potential to be equal parts disruptive and energizing. We’ve all been sensing changes coming and witnessing enormous shifts in the collective. Part of the tension of 2026 has been not knowing what form these changes will take. This July, we may start to see a more complete picture of what’s to come. In our own lives, it may feel uncomfortable, even disruptive, but it also represents an opportunity: a surge of energy shoving us through a portal into something new.

I am coming to you with good tidings, as Venus and Jupiter reach toward each other in the final days of their luminous embrace. The Great Benefic and the Planet of Love will perfect their conjunction on June 9th, and we are headed into a very special weekend as the Moon and Jupiter enter into a state of special reciprocity in honor of the occasion.

I am a little late in releasing the June podcast, which I had the pleasure of recording with the inimitable Brandon Alter of the Spiritual Gayz last week. But I am happy to be writing you this evening, and calling your attention to the skies at this moment.

As the Moon moves into Pisces this weekend and into mutual reception with Jupiter, take some time to soak in these life-giving waters and appreciate how far you’ve come. As a Cancer Sun, I have experienced Jupiter’s year-long transit through my Sun sign as a period of incredible growth.

It is Jupiter’s nature to expand whatever he touches, and as he moves through a sign, he seeks to bless and support growth in the corresponding area of life. But the hard truth is that sustainable growth rarely feels like we imagine it will.

As a rule, Jupiter’s blessings are not always lasting; there are circumstances in which—if we’re being honest—as much as we love him, the guy can be a bit of a blowhard. Think of Indra. Think of Zeus. In every pantheon, the King of the Gods is routinely overdoing it. Sometimes Jupiter traps us in a too much too fast dilemma. It’s easy to ride the intoxicating energy of his enthusiastic momentum into a shape we ultimately can’t hold. Short-lived blessings are not necessarily worthless. Jupiter’s adventures are full of learning and often represent treasured experiences, whether or not they lead to long-lived or lasting circumstances. But what is unique about Jupiter in Cancer (and one of the reasons I believe that Jupiter is exalted in Cancer) is that growth in the home of the Moon can never really outpace the limits of our nervous system.

In Cancer, Jupiter works on our capacity to love, nourish, and remain in consistent, loving contact with ourselves. Jupiter can’t blow past our limits in Cancer because the nature of Cancer is to be responsive to emergent need. Cancer is the home of the mother. It is the primordial, nourishing waters of the womb, and no matter the quality of nourishment we received from our inevitably limited human mothers, each of us must eventually learn to mother ourselves. It is from this capacity to create safety for our hearts, bodies, and minds that real, lasting, sustainable growth can occur.

Jupiter’s time in Cancer is coming to an end, but the wealth he leaves behind is lasting. Jupiter has strengthened our container. We can hold more because we can love ourselves more. We can be present with the world because we can be present with ourselves. We’ve met the boundless self by tending to its limits.

I wish each of you a beautiful month, full of gentleness and pleasure. I don’t know what final gift Jupiter and Venus will bring, but I hope each of you receives it with joy and love for yourself and others.

We begin the month with the Sun and Moon in opposition, reacquainting themselves with the Scorpio-Taurus axis newly vacated by the chaotic and fickle Uranus, who has finally completed his 7-year stay.

You may find that this lunation feels purgative; we are expelling subtle attachments to old ways of being, ghosts of patterns, remnants of the people we used to be. This moon is about preparing a space in our lives for what is actually already here, allowing what needs to grow to take root and allowing what needs to transform to pass from one life to the next.

The first week of May is spikier than the second and third. Pluto will cast his heavy rays to and fro, but stay the course, because this month has the potential to give much more than it takes.

Wishing each of you nourishment and love. May 2026 acts as a portal to some of the loveliest astrology of the year, and I know that each of you will receive a special piece of it.

Today is a big day!

Saturn made his final ingress into Aries, where he joins Neptune at zero degrees until they perfect their conjunction on Friday, February 20th. As we move through this collective distortion field, realities will crumble, old dreams will die, and visions of new worlds emerge within us.

MIND TRAINING WITH THERESA:

These workshops explore the functions of our own mind and how we can develop beyond the limitations of the mind being its own self-referential machine. Many of the mental patterns allow us to learn, develop, explore, and cope in very positive ways, but these same patterns can also lead to being overly attached, reactive, and conclusive in ways that stagnate much of our potential development.

This is also an exploration of how to exist in illusory reality in a way that is clear, harmonious, and productive within our own minds. I work with many people experiencing spiritual change that shifts their perspective, how they feel in their mind and body, and their overall processing. This course is meant to help individuals pave their own path of peace through change, regardless of their spiritual background or orientation.

Everyone is welcome to attend workshops individually or as a full series. Sessions will be recorded for those unable to attend live.

Capricorn is the sign of the moon’s fall. Our life-giving mother is furthest from her tidal, watery home in this sign, where the harsh dominion of Saturn emerges as towering, barren earth. It is the nature of the moon to nurture and renew, but it is in Capricorn where we most directly encounter the harsh reality of the world as it is—the ancient, the entrenched, the seemingly immovable.

Here in the territory of Saturn, it seems as if the moon can only skirt around the jagged edges and hard angles of things. Her nurturance is constrained by the limitations of this fallow, arid terrain. Her soft light falls on painful barriers to access. She illuminates stores of resources behind locked gates. What we receive is determined by our place on the mountain. The moon can’t guide us to the summit; she can only help us make use of what we’ve gathered on our journey so far. Any additional aspirations must be taken to Saturn.

For this reason, a Capricorn lunation can feel like cosmic judgment raining down from on high. On the one hand, the moon’s renewal may provide a celebratory frame, punctuation at the end of a hard-won affirmation from Saturn, “yes” after many seasons of “no.” On the other, you may find yourself enmeshed in the intractable limit, mentally roaming narratives of fear, insecurity, and never-enoughness. This is the typical playing field of a Capricorn lunation, and yet we must keep in mind that this year the playing field itself is dissolving beneath our feet.

Whenever we talk about Capricorn, we are looking at relating to what already exists in the world. Saturn is the ruler of time, boundaries, institutions, and structure, and in the yin, earth sign of Capricorn, we encounter the institutions that structure the tangible resources of our world. These structures are towering and difficult to move; they wield the power and authority of their legacies. And yet, as Saturn moves through the watery dissolution of Neptune, we may need to abandon our usual strategies for carefully navigating and ascending the power structures as they already exist. Normally, Capricorn asks us to work in and with reality as it is, but how can we ascend a mountain that is in the process of collapsing?

Today, the sun and moon conjoin at 28 degrees of Capricorn. The moon seeds her new cycle here, with a sextile to Saturn and Neptune in Pisces and a trine to Uranus in Taurus. This is a moment of profound disruption. There is no going back from here. A consequential part of our world is slipping into quicksand—not the whole thing, but a once-precious and unmistakable piece is sliding away. As this process plays out in the collective, we will need strategies for metabolizing fear as we continue to pursue our dreams and cultivate our innate goodness.

As we watch aspects of our world dissolve, it can be helpful to track the parts of ourselves that are ready to fall away. We change with the world, and the invitation of this moon is to reimagine and remake it anew.

Come Study with Me: 2026-2027 Zodiac Class

Starting Aries Season 2026, I will begin a year-long class on the Zodiac. This course will be taught in cohort format, in live sessions that include discussion and community sharing. Each of us carries the entire wheel inside, and one of the best, most potent ways to really deeply understand our relationship to each sign is to learn from each other. As we move into this new year, the gate between the watery dissolution of Pisces and rebirth by fire in the Martial territory of Aries is acutely magnetized. The feeling is one of standing on a precipice with a blindfold. The path we’ve crossed to get here has eroded behind our footsteps, and the path forward is obscured by the smoke of a still-smoldering fire. If ever there were a moment for a leap of faith, this is it. The question is who and what deserves the incredible gift, blessing, and power of your faith?

(Spoiler alert: it’s you.)

For some time, I’ve been internally relating to 2026–2027 as a portal to the new world. Normally, I hesitate to use this kind of hyperbolic language, but as Saturn and Neptune pass hand-in-hand through the last sign of the zodiac and into the first, it may truly feel as if the known, charted world is collapsing, like a pop-up paper diorama flattened by a tug on some great invisible cosmic pull-tab. As Neptune’s fog calls Saturn across the ocean of Pisces and meets him at the equinox gate of zero degrees of Aries, we will surrender to both welcome and unwelcome endings. And like any good apocalypse story, in the wake of this flattening, a great war is sure to be fought over whose influence and vision will lead in reshaping the world to the specifications of its new, and yet unknown, dimensions. Many people and groups will declare themselves the winner of this war, only to be dethroned in short order by a parade of relentless and short-lived usurpers. We are in for a period of long, chaotic change. Give nobody authority over your life; hold fast to your vision and to your goodness. Do what you can to build what you want to see and experience in your life and in your community.

I chose for this podcast (and for the year) the image of the sword-wielding Kalki and his white horse. For those unfamiliar with the Hindu spiritual traditions, Kalki is the future Avatar of Vishnu, foretold to incarnate at the end of the Kali Yuga (the age of spiritual and material degeneration) to restore the creation and all life to a state of perfected integrity. I am not an expert on Kalki, and I am sure this prophecy is differently relevant and differently meaningful to the many sects and lineages, but from my perspective as a Western spiritual aspirant and astrologer, as I stand at the end of this precipice, what I am expecting to burst forth from this thick Neptunian haze is exactly Kalki. But I know we won’t find him in a single human or even necessarily in the world. We’ll find him inside our hearts.

Special Chiron Session:

As for something new, I am incredibly excited to invite you to a Special Chiron Session through Inner Currents.

For as long as I’ve been practicing astrology, I have always been most interested in understanding how we can work with our natal charts to shape our lives and experiences for the better. I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have Theresa as a partner in this work, and over the years we have collaborated on sadhanas, meditations, and readings—all focused on using the tools at our disposal to help our community and clients attain more space, freedom, agency, and peace inside their natal patterns.

For as long as Theresa and I have been collaborating, Chiron has been a figure of deep interest in our work. Commonly referred to as the “wounded healer,” we know that Chiron holds a form of medicine, but unlike other challenging planetary influences, his support often feels more deeply buried and difficult to access.

Chiron’s placement in our birth charts points to a place in life where we hold old pain, a sense of lacking, and the feeling of being forever just out of reach of something essential. His influence can stir up strong desire and fierce attachment to ideals or outcomes we fear we can never attain, yet feel unable to live without. Chiron generates grief layered inside longing, looping us ever backward into familiar emotional whirlpools and painful narratives that can feel impossible to escape.

In a culmination of many years of discussion, Theresa has developed a practice aimed at remediating the challenging effects of Chiron by accessing his deeper medicine directly. Over time, this practice can offer profound transformation by helping us feel through the pain we resist, release our attempts to control what cannot be controlled, and open space for possibilities we could not previously imagine.

We are incredibly fortunate because Theresa has generously offered to transmit and teach this practice to us.

This offering is a little different from the planetary sadhanas and remediations we have shared in the past. In developing and mastering this practice, Theresa has created a very specific pathway into Chiron’s medicine, one she forged through her own skill and profound effort. For this reason, and unlike most Inner Currents offerings, this transmission is not free. To access the practice, we are asking for a donation.

The suggested donation is $50. You are welcome to contribute more or less depending on your means, but the offering acts as a protective energetic exchange that honors Theresa’s work and safeguards your practice.

I am incredibly excited to share this work and immensely grateful to Theresa for developing and teaching this practice. I truly believe this could be transformative for anyone whose Chiron touches a sensitive or tender part of their life.

Many of you who are my clients already have a sense of how Chiron operates in your chart. If you are curious or want to understand more, feel free to reach out. I am happy to offer brief donation-based individual readings before or after the transmission to explore your Chiron themes more personally. I will not have time to read individual charts during the session, but Theresa and I will both give short talks on Chiron before Theresa teaches and transmits the practice.

If you are interested in learning more, you are welcome to come and receive the transmission even if you are unsure whether you want to work with the practice right away. You will always have the option to work with it later.

Mercury’s retrogrades always bring the potential for delays, cancellations, and communication mishaps, and, as the lovely Brandon mentions toward the end of the episode, shopping inefficiencies. (This is not the year for Black Friday deals unless you enjoy the returning-and-refunding merry-go-round.) But if we pay close attention, we can usually sense a deeper focus beneath the noise and chaos that swirl on the surface of Mercury’s retrograde cycles.

This time, the messenger’s retrograde asks a pointed question: What’s been left unfinished?

Perfectly positioned to dialogue with Uranus and triangulate communication between Jupiter and Saturn, Mercury’s retrograde plunges deep into strategy. We have six months to tie up loose ends in Taurus. Uranus has been working on innovating the Taurus part of our lives since 2018, and clarity strikes like lightning this month as we hone in on what still needs to be done. If this is progress we’d like to keep, it’s time to take a look at how to seal it in, make it real, and make it lasting. In the Pisces part of our lives, Saturn has been building a bridge across murky waters, and this month Mercury helps Saturn solicit the support of Jupiter in Cancer to make the last three months of Saturn’s building project count.

Eclipse season is finally behind us. As the season of shadows abates, Mercury and Jupiter line up to generate an atmosphere of enthusiasm, and if we’re lucky, maybe even a spate of good news.

Theresa and I will be holding a live session tomorrow (Friday, Sept 19) to talk about the upcoming Solar Eclipse in Virgo.

We’ll discuss the long shadow cast by the Lunar Eclipse in Pisces earlier this month. I’ll speak about how the upcoming Solar Eclipse may continue to progress the storyline, and how we might orient ourselves toward the larger challenges unfolding in the skies. I’ll help everyone understand where the eclipses are landing in their personal charts, as well as contextualize this month within the broader eclipse cycle that began in the fall of 2024 and will continue for another year.

White Drop Practice Informational Session | Sunday, August 24

This Sunday at 9:30 am PST, Inner Currents is holding an informational session.

As longtime followers of this podcast know, my former co-host (and now frequent guest host and collaborator) Theresa Ulfa runs an organization called Inner Currents.

Inner Currents is a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting spiritual aspirants in cultivating deeper, more authentic relationships with themselves and with the Divine, as well as in pursuing profound spiritual accomplishments. I have been involved with Inner Currents since 2019, and the astro/intuitive collaboration between Theresa and me blossomed under the umbrella of the work we undertake there.

What makes the organization truly special and profound is the space it provides for each individual to wrestle with, experience, and co-create a spiritual practice that feels authentic, innate, and free from the systems of control so many of us associate with organized religion. There is no expectation that all members orient toward the same face, idea, or concept of the Divine. No Divine personality is elevated above the rest. As someone who suffered greatly under the existential pressure of fundamentalist Christianity as a child, Inner Currents provided a space where my spiritual life could grow and flourish in ways I never believed possible.

On Sunday, there will be an informational meeting about one of the main organizing principles and tools utilized in Inner Currents, called the White Drop, which is associated with the development of Bodhichitta.

Join Geoffrey and Theresa this Sunday to learn about the main focus of Inner Currents: White Drop/Bodhicitta development, deity yoga, and how to develop a functional worldview that is congruent with your spiritual practice and aspirations.

We’ll also discuss the subtle structures included in the practice, how to use the available tools, and our long-term participants will offer insight into their own experiences with the White Drop work. This event will be recorded and available for anyone who can’t attend live, but it is an excellent opportunity to ask questions in person. We look forward to seeing everyone then!

This is a quick note to let you all know that Theresa and I will be holding a live session for the Virgo New Moon tomorrow (Friday, 8/22) at 4pm PST.

We’re about to head into an incredibly loaded Virgo Season, and tomorrow evening brings the first of two new moons in Virgo (the second being a lunar eclipse). We’re all about to encounter a major reset in the Virgo corner of our charts, and tomorrow I’ll try to offer some extra grounding and preparation for what this might look and feel like on an individual level.

The session will be held on Zoom. All are welcome!

I also want to acknowledge my long, unintended absence from this space. I injured my back in July and have also been tending to some minor but persistent health issues that required my full attention. The good news is that I’m back now, and I’ll do my best not to disappear for such long stretches again—at least not without prior warning.

I recorded the Virgo Season podcast with Brandon today, and they were so helpful in helping me think through and frame the upcoming eclipse season. I’m really excited to share the episode with you, and I hope to post it tomorrow.

I was lucky to be joined again by Brandon Alter of the Spiritual Gayz and, as always, feel blessed to have the opportunity to chat with them about the astrology of the month ahead.

As of yesterday, Uranus has officially moved into Gemini. The planet of disruption, innovation, and eccentricity will remain here until November, before his brief retrograde back into Taurus.

This is a huge transition and arranges all three of the outer planets into aspect with one another. I’ll be speaking and writing more on this soon, but these are very loud transits as well as energies we’ll be contending with for years to come. July offers some important clues for understanding what themes, conflicts, and adventures this configuration has in store for us long term.

Uranus is a disruptive energy. He moves towards liberation. He moves towards eccentricity. But his methods are unpredictable by design. Unlike the fixed earth sign he’s finally departed, Gemini is a territory inclined to amplify Uranus’ hijinks, rather than resist them.

While it's not possible to predict or control the energy of Uranus, cultivating an intention for an openness to change and innovation in the Gemini area of life will go a long way in supporting this 7-year transit.

I encourage all of you to take a look at what Gemini rules in your chart. If you need help, comment with your rising sign, and I will let you know where to look.

We will be discussing one of the most potent and potentially precarious transits of the month: Mars conjunct Ketu (South Node).

Mars–Ketu conjunctions assist us in cutting away personal patterns, attachments, and ideas that hold us back from the fullest expression of ourselves. They also tend to correspond to periods of collective loss and terror. I intend to hold this community space in the spirit of embracing the wholeness of everything we are currently experiencing. We are living through an astrological window of intensity that is manifesting as many displays of collective horror and trauma, but also offers powerful fuel for personal and collective change. We are experiencing transits of notably rare tension and maleficence, shining alongside transits of beauty, fullness, and beneficence.

There are no easy, obvious approaches to navigating these times. But I would like to do as much as I can to help you all strategize pathways for action and ease—to take advantage of the good while remaining clearheaded about the challenges.s.
