It’s time to announce a new video premiere… and this one is WILD because it’s one of Stephen King’s uncollected works… published back in the December 1978 issue of Cavalier Magazine. It’s not a supernatural tale… but it is disturbing!

I first stumbled upon this idea from College Humor, and we've been adapting and adjusting the KINGO card ever since. You'll notice some new editions, such as: "gooseflesh and arc-sodium lights.)

Tonight, we'll be diving into the short story, "Man with a Belly." It's one of his early (and rare) non-supernatural / crime fiction tales, and be forewarned... it gets dark! (Abuse, assault, violence.)

Wow, it has been a long time, fellow Constant Readers!

The premiere begins at 6:30 pm (Pacific Time) tomorrow (Monday, July 27th). If you can make the debut, I’ll be hanging out in the chat with other channel members! Come say hello, and let me know what you think of this contonuing lecture series that takes place after the events of The Stand.

After I posted the first Mother Abagail video on July 1st, I flew to Philadelphia to celebrate USA’s 250th birthday. I traveled with family and friends (including my highly energetic neice and nephews). And then when I got back from that, I traveled up the west coast for another family gathering. All of it was incredibly fun — exhausting, but in a good way. But it did mean I was away from my YouTube projects for an extended period of time, and I hope you haven’t missed the channel too much, and that you’ve been enjoying a few summertime adventures of your own.

Reading and discussing THE STAND, strangely enough, infuses me with a sense of hope for our future. It makes me reflect on the fragility of all things — with the exception of hope, love, and compassion. Despite all of King’s horrors within his epic, those three emotions — the finest aspects of the human condition — are always present, in spite of the darkness.

Gosh darn it, folks… I made a mistake! I meant to send this post out yesterday, and it completely slipped my mind!

So, m,y apologies for the late announcement, but the good news is: A new video has arrived at the Stephen King Book Club. It’s about Mother Abagail and her impact on the Free Zone community (the good guys) and her struggle against Flagg and the Las Vegas jerks (the bad guys).

This won’t be the only video on Mother Abagail. I was originally creating something that discussed the ending of the book (and the 1994 miniseries) AND her younger days (including material from THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT. However, that video became VERY long, so I’ve decided to split it in half.

We just dropped a new video… It’s a very short one, so we didn’t have a premiere… but here it is… a Stephen King / Dr. Seuss parody of “Oh the Places You’ll Go!” — a tribute to recent graduates.

I had a lot of fun making this one. The line-art is mostly mine (and so is the Seuss-styled story) but the colorization was done with several different A.I. programs.

Ever since I started this YouTube Channel, exploring the works and wonders of Stephen King’s fertile imagination, I’ve pondered how I would tackle The Talisman.

Among King’s early classics, it’s not one of his most famous (and it hasn’t yet been made into a film, unlike many of the others)… It’s certainly not one of his scariest (I’m not even sure it belongs in the horror section in the bookstore.) But for those of us who love an epic quest between two worlds — Straub & King’s collaboration is a gem of a novel.

I’m very much an amateur when it comes to editing videos… but I definitely learned a lot of new skills to pull off this little project. I’ve still got a long way to travel before I master this strange craft of YouTube videos… but I’m definitely enjoying the journey.
