As a founding organizer and TAMA&#8217;s first president, she united local businesses to increase visibility, drive foot traffic, and strengthen community. Her advocacy helped establish Tompkins Avenue as a nationally recognized model for merchant collaboration and inspired similar efforts across other corridors.&#8221;</p><p>Under her leadership, TAMA achieved significant milestones that elevated Tompkins Avenue as a destination for commerce, culture, and community. Key accomplishments include the expansion of the <strong>TAMA SummerFest Weekend Walks</strong>, the launch and success of <strong>Tompkins Avenue Open Streets</strong>&#8212;which received the <strong>Alfresco NYC Award for Best Open Street in 2021</strong> and recognition in <strong>Time Out Magazine in 2022</strong>&#8212;the designation of Tompkins Avenue as a <strong>tourist destination</strong>, awarded by the NAACP Business Award, and the successful coining and promotion of <strong>&#8220;Black Girl Magic Street.&#8221;</strong></p><p>In addition, <strong>Michael Brooks</strong> of <strong>Bed-Vyne Wine &amp; Spirits</strong> and <strong>Ayo Agbede</strong> of <strong>Brooklyn Kettle</strong>, who served as <strong>Vice President</strong> and <strong>Treasurer</strong> respectively, have also stepped down from their leadership roles.
