Co-creation is not just about working together, but about creating something together that is better for everyone. Co-creation means sharing ideas, skills, and resources to make something that one person could not make alone. It is not about one person deciding everything, but about listening to each other and finding a way to combine everyone’s ideas.Co-creation works best when everyone takes responsibility. If you agree to do something for the team, you have to do it. For example, if one person agrees to bring the materials and another agrees to prepare the activity, both have to keep their promise and do their part. When everyone contributes, the final result belongs to everyone.Co-creation is also a process of finding new ideas together. It is not about showing that your idea is better than someone else’s. Instead, it is about asking, “What can we create together?” A co-creator does not see others as competitors, but as partners who can help make an idea stronger. Through honest communication, sharing, and helping each other, different ideas can come together to create something better than what one person could make alone.

More than 2,000 years ago, in ancient Alexandria, Egypt, people had an ambitious dream: to bring the world’s knowledge together. They wanted writings, ideas, stories, mathematics, astronomy, medicine, and philosophy fro

m many cultures to exist in one place. This became the Library of Alexandria.

The library was not created by one genius. It grew through the contributions of thousands of people. Scholars, travelers, writers, translators, and teachers each brought something different. They shared ideas, questioned one another, compared knowledge, and built on what others had discovered.

Imagine two scholars studying the stars. One has an old astronomical text, while the other has made new observations. Instead of deciding that one person must be right, they compare their ideas, ask questions, and improve their understanding together. The final knowledge becomes something neither could have created alone.

Even a single book required many contributions. Someone wrote it, another copied it, someone translated it, and another transported or preserved it. Later, another scholar might study and improve its ideas.

The Library of Alexandria reminds us that co-creation means building on what others contribute. One person starts an idea, another improves it, and someone else applies it in a new way. Great things can emerge when different people contribute, listen, and create together.

B. CHALLENGE CARDS

In the previous chapter, we explored Negotiation—learning how to find fair agreements when people have different needs, opinions, or goals. Negotiation helps us listen to others, understand different perspectives, find common ground, and agree on a solution that works for everyone.

But reaching an agreement is not always the end of the journey. Sometimes, the best solution does not already exist. We need to create something new together by combining different ideas, skills, experiences, and perspectives. The next question is: How can we turn different ideas into something better together?

This chapter is about Co-creation.

Co-creation is the ability to work with others to create something that none of us could have created alone. It is not about one person having the best idea and everyone else following it. Instead, it means sharing ideas, building on each other’s thinking, experimenting, and improving the solution together.

Being good at co-creation means asking different questions: What can we learn from each other? What can we combine? How can we make this idea better? What can each person contribute? What could we create together that would be difficult to create alone?

Just as negotiation helps us find an agreement, co-creation helps us turn that agreement into something new and meaningful.

The future belongs not only to those who can think independently, but also to those who can connect ideas, combine strengths, and create better solutions together.

Meanwhile, Jimmy, Luna , Ngoc Diep , Sekar , Haali had made commitments to join in on the program to improve the New 2027 Gallery. Let’s see how they perform…. a promise was made to the contributors - we would put their names on the Gallery.

The session was led by DAV79, with Linda joining from South Africa as the guest journalist and interviewer. JFP took the lead in managing the gallery and introducing the participants. Joining from Vietnam was Ngoc Diep, while the Bali team included Putu Linda, Dalem, Puspita and Gus Indra. Z later joined to help translate and coordinate the Indonesian-speaking participants.

The session began with DAV79 preparing JFP to take responsibility for the presentation.

“Make sure that you’re going through the materials,” DAV79 reminded him, directing him to the Fundamental Decisions website, brochure and Sustainability section.

There was already a small logistical challenge. JFP was trying to navigate the website while also preparing for Linda’s arrival. DAV79 encouraged him to get the other members online and to introduce Linda properly.

Linda eventually joined, and DAV79 explained that she would act as a journalist for the session.

“Ms. Linda’s from South Africa. She’s going to act as a journalist,” he explained. “You’re going to go through every member. Don’t rush. Go gentle, go easy, go nice.”

The idea was simple: the young ambassadors would answer questions about the bootcamp, sustainability and their experiences, while using the online gallery to show what they had actually done.

But before the interview could properly begin, the group had to deal with the reality of getting everyone into the room.

JFP worked through the gallery while DAV79 tried to bring in the remaining participants. DAV79 eventually locked the room and began insisting that anyone who wanted to participate needed to be visible, prepared and ready.

This became one of the strongest themes of the evening: being an ambassador was not simply about attending. It meant preparing.

When the formal recording finally started, Linda introduced herself. She explained that she had been born in South Africa, lived in New Zealand for 18 years, and was currently back in South Africa.

Her first question was straightforward:

“Who am I talking to? Tell me your name, your age, and where you’re from.”

JFP went first.

“So, I’m JFP. I’m turning 13 this year. I’ve been with the program for about 7 years now, and I’m joining in from Singapore.”

Then he passed the conversation to the others.

Ngoc Diep introduced herself, explaining that she was 12 and had been involved with the bootcamp for around five months. She said she was from Vietnam.

Next came Putu Linda.

“My name is Putulinda Awarini, you can call me Linda. I’m 14 years old,” she explained, joining from Bali.

Dalem followed.

“My name is Komanga Desatria Dalam Sutanaya. You can call me Dalam. I’m from Bali. 13 years old.”

Then Puspita introduced herself as Putupuspitarini, saying that she was 14 and from Bali.

Finally, Gus Indra introduced himself as Nyaman Agus Indrawiguna, saying he could be called Agus and that he was 13 and from Bali.

With introductions complete, Linda moved to the central question:

“When you hear the word sustainability, what picture comes into your mind?”

JFP gave the strongest initial response.

He described sustainability as a world where people, animals and nature could live together without destroying the future. He imagined greener cities, cleaner water supplies and people making smarter choices.

Most importantly, he described the Earth as “our home” — a clean home where future generations could thrive.

When Linda pushed the others to respond, Dalem initially struggled.

“No idea.”

JFP encouraged him to try.

“Whatever comes into your mind when I say sustainability.”

Eventually Dalem answered with a simple:

“Strong.”

Ngoc Diep offered another perspective. She associated sustainability with a strong, hardworking group of people — something connected to personal responsibility.

The discussion then moved from abstract definitions to everyday behaviour.

Linda asked whether the participants actually noticed sustainability at home or school.

JFP responded with concrete examples: switching off lights after class, not wasting water and reusing things instead of immediately throwing them away.

He described noticing that classroom leaders sometimes left lights on after class. Rather than simply complaining, he gathered a team and walked around checking classrooms, switching off lights and conserving electricity.

He also talked about food waste.

People sometimes bought more food than they needed and did not finish it. For JFP, sustainability therefore became connected to appreciation: only taking what you need and recognising the value of food and money.

Ngoc Diep gave a practical example from school. She explained that her teacher expected her to switch off the lights, air-conditioning, fans and television after school, and even switch off the circuit breaker.

The interview then became more personal.

Linda asked about fears for the future, particularly when children see adults wasting resources.

JFP described walking around his neighbourhood during an Expo challenge. He had seen people finish meals and simply leave plastic waste behind. He also noticed dog owners failing to clean up after their dogs.

His concern was not just that the environment became dirty. It was that people might eventually lose places where they could comfortably live, play and feel proud of their community.

He described a local community clean-up that had struggled to attract volunteers.

His point was simple: people contribute to waste, but sometimes do not contribute to fixing the problem.

The interview was becoming much more than a question-and-answer session. It was beginning to reveal how the children were interpreting sustainability through their own lives.

After the interview, however, DAV79 returned to the practical issue of preparation.

He praised JFP and Ngoc Diep for their contributions but was much more critical of the Bali team.

The concern was not about language ability alone. The larger problem was that some participants had not read the materials, did not know the questions and were not yet ready to explain what they had learned. the GCC head had an action to take…

DAV79 challenged Puspita directly:

“What did you learn?”

Puspita admitted that she did not understand.

The same issue emerged with Putu Linda and Dalem.

DAV79 repeatedly asked:

“What is sustainability?”

The answers were hesitant.

For Dalem, the eventual response was:

“We learn about sustainability.”

DAV79 pushed further, explaining that ambassadors could not simply attend sessions and listen. They had to understand, speak and eventually represent the programme.

At this point, the language barrier became important.

DAV79 explicitly told Putu Linda:

“You can speak in Bahasa.”

Z stepped in to translate and explain the instructions in Bahasa Indonesia.

“Jadi di sini ada Dalam, Puspita dan Putu Linda,” Z explained, checking that they understood the instructions.

She explained that the gallery contained images which acted like links to Substack articles. The participants needed to click the images, read the articles carefully and comment on them.

“Dibaca dengan detail,” Z emphasised. They needed to read carefully because there were important details and even “bagian-bagian yang tersembunyi” — hidden elements that they were expected to discover.

Putu Linda checked that she understood. Time would test if she really understood.

“Oh, okay, okay, thank you, Miss.”

Puspita then explained her difficulty in English and asked for clarification. Z continued translating.

The exchange showed why translation and local support were important. The Indonesian participants were not simply refusing to participate; some were struggling to process the English instructions quickly enough.

Puspita eventually restated the instructions in Bahasa: click the images, open the linked material, read it in detail and look for the hidden information.

“Bisa,” she confirmed when Z checked whether she understood.

The session therefore became a lesson in another kind of sustainability: communication itself needed a support system.

DAV79 then clarified the next steps. Participants were expected to return to the Fundamental Decisions website, find the Sustainability Bootcamp brochure, explore the interactive images and read the linked articles.

The hidden links were part of the challenge.

“You have to read more of this,” DAV79 explained sternly…..

The team also discussed the next rehearsal. JFP would be expected to prepare more carefully, while Ngoc Diep, Z and the Bali participants would continue preparing.

The final schedule was established around everyone’s availability. A recording would take place the following day, with another session on Saturday as the main preparation and recording window.

Ngoc Diep explained that she would be at school but could make a short window available later.

DAV79 confirmed the timing carefully.

The group agreed on Saturday 4:30 Vietnam time / 5:30 Singapore time, with a limited recording window.

The final message from DAV79 was clear: this was the last rehearsal in which the group could arrive unprepared.

JFP accepted the feedback.

“Yes.”

His own takeaway was straightforward:

“I have to read the documents more carefully and ask questions if I have any.”

That became the central lesson of Day 1.

The session had started with a technical mess — people arriving late, cameras not working, names needing to be changed, questions not reaching everyone and translations being improvised. But underneath the chaos was a much more important lesson.

An ambassador is not simply someone who appears on screen.

An ambassador needs to know the material, understand the purpose, communicate clearly, ask questions when confused and help others do the same.

Linda’s contribution made the session feel like a real interview rather than a classroom exercise. JFP demonstrated that years of participation could translate into confidence and leadership. Ngoc Diep showed that practical sustainability can be found in everyday school routines. The Bali team revealed the challenges that appear when language, preparation and communication channels are not aligned.

Before leaving, Linda thanked everyone for their time. The participants responded in their own ways.

“Thank you, Miss Linda,” Ngoc Diep said.

“Thank you, Miss,” added Putu Linda.

“Thank you, Miss Lind,” said Dalem.

Linda then had to leave because she needed to drive, but the learning continued after she exited.

DAV79 reminded the group that Linda had spent a significant amount of time waiting and participating from South Africa. That effort needed to be respected by being prepared.

He also made an important organisational point: there could not be several disconnected communication channels. The team needed one clear flow of information and someone responsible for ensuring that everyone received it.

Z agreed to help communicate with the Bali team and to speak with Mr. Putu.

The final Bahasa exchange brought the session back to practical action.

“Iya,” Z confirmed several times as they discussed contacting Mr. Putu and making sure Puspita, Dalem and Putu Linda understood what they needed to do.

The message to the Indonesian team was ultimately simple: meet with Mr. Putu, clarify the expectations, read the materials, prepare properly and come back ready.

The session ended with a mixture of encouragement and warning.

For the newcomers, especially Putu Linda, there was a welcome:

“Welcome aboard.”

For the more experienced members, there was a challenge:

“You better work for it.”

And that perhaps captured Day 1 perfectly.

The Ambassador Training did not begin with everyone polished and ready. It began with a structured mess — exactly the kind of environment in which real capability can be tested.

The next step was therefore not simply another Zoom meeting.

It was preparation.

Read the articles.
Understand sustainability.
Ask questions.
Complete the journals.
Prepare the gallery.
Know the story.
And, when the camera comes on, be ready to speak.

Day 1 was not really about getting the perfect recording.

It was about discovering who was ready to become an ambassador.

Go through the Gallery and look back at what happened in the previous modules.

• What did we do?

• What challenges did we take on?

• What did other Ambassadors discover?

• What can we learn from what happened before?

4. Identify Your Superpowers

Think about:

What superpowers do I wish to build?

Choose the abilities, mindsets, or qualities you want to strengthen through this journey.

5. Talk to Your Parents & Register for Bootcamp

Talk to your parents about the upcoming Immersive Bootcamp and register.

The ecosystem around The Learning Space was built to support what is often the most overlooked stakeholder in a child’s development journey — the parent. They often carry the greatest responsibility while having the least support, the least time, and the fewest opportunities to pause, reflect, and grow.

The Global Citizens Program is not designed for everyone.

Back in 2021, SAHN, the head of the program, identified something that has continued to shape the way we work: the bottleneck was often the parents themselves. Not because they did not care, but because many were already stretched, hurting, overwhelmed, or simply too busy to depend on yet another program to solve the problem for them.

Those who experienced the power of the ecosystem chose to continue the journey. Many children entered carrying challenges that were often invisible to others — bullying, anxiety, panic attacks, low motivation, and a deep uncertainty about how to handle conflict. For many, even the slightest discomfort felt like a warning sign, leading them to withdraw, avoid, or run away from difficult situations.

Parents, doing their best with the tools and knowledge available to them, often responded by removing obstacles and reducing discomfort, hoping to make life easier for their children. Surrounded by social pressures and prevailing parenting norms, this seemed like the natural thing to do.

What was less visible, however, was the unintended consequence. When every hurdle was removed, children were often deprived of opportunities to develop resilience, navigate setbacks, and build confidence through struggle. Over time, new patterns began to emerge — increased dependence, lower tolerance for discomfort, and, in some cases, a growing sense of entitlement. What appeared to be protection in the short term sometimes became a barrier to growth in the long term.

At The Learning Space, we deliberately strip away convenience — because convenience can quietly become one of the biggest barriers to learning. When everything is made easy, predictable, and outsourced, there is little need to question, adapt, take responsibility, or develop the capacity to deal with uncertainty.

Instead, we introduce what we call structured messiness.

It is unfamiliar to most people. It requires effort to acclimatize to a learning environment where not everything is predetermined, where problems cannot always be handed to someone else, and where participants are expected to navigate uncertainty, make decisions, and learn through the process.

The messiness is not the absence of structure.

The messiness is part of the structure.

It is deliberately designed to create the conditions in which children — and the adults supporting them — can develop the resilience, independence, and decision-making capability needed beyond the program itself.

Dr Who calls this comfortable - but not too comfortable.

Mr. Tong from the GCC (Global Citizens Club) in Hanoi more recently asked, “Who are the right people for this program?”

DAV79 response with simplicity: those who genuinely care and are willing to take that journey.

The program is intentionally designed for people who see challenges around them, want to make a difference, but do not yet know how, or feel unable to act. Our role is not to solve problems for them, but to help them become capable of solving problems themselves.

We do this in two ways. First, we identify and protect “bottlenecks” that may be limiting their growth. Then, once they have developed the confidence, skills, and mindset required, we challenge them to step forward, take ownership, and create change themselves.

The program also welcomes those who are curious but not yet fully committed. However, they are often subjected to what we call a convenience test. There are moments when participation cannot be outsourced. Some experiences require people to show up personally. Growth begins when responsibility can no longer be delegated and individuals move from observing to doing.

During one discussion, Eriko-san from Malaysia, whom the team was encouraging to help establish GCC communities in Malaysia and Japan, remarked, “So this program is really for the parents.”

Lin91 from Team FD and Z from the GCC in Jogja immediately agreed.

In many ways, she was right.

While the visible participants may be young people, the deeper purpose is to support the adults around them. Children do not grow in isolation. They grow within systems shaped by parents, caregivers, educators, and communities. The behaviours, decisions, and mindsets they observe every day become the foundation upon which they build their own lives.

When parents develop greater awareness, resilience, accountability, and purpose, they create environments where children can do the same.

The Global Citizens Program may work through children, but its impact reaches far beyond them. At its core, it is about strengthening families. Because when parents grow, children benefit. When families grow, communities become stronger. And when communities become stronger, the future changes.

So here are a series of questions that Eriko-san attempted to ask and Ms Z laid out an initial response through consolidating several views and also drawing parralel to what she experienced herself as a parent.

1. What is GCC, and what is my child joining?

GCC is a learning ecosystem designed to help children develop a stronger mindset through real experiences, continuous participation, reflection, and meaningful involvement from the people around them.

Your child is not simply joining a class, an activity program, or a series of events. The purpose is deeper: to gradually develop the mindset and inner strength needed to face real-life challenges with awareness, responsibility, resilience, and the ability to keep moving forward.

This kind of transformation does not happen instantly.

A child may experience a powerful moment in one session, but a mindset is built through repetition. Children need opportunities to try, struggle, make decisions, experience discomfort, reflect, try again, and gradually discover what they are capable of doing.

That is why continuity matters.

Through sessions, challenges, projects, bootcamps, discussions, and other experiences, children are intentionally placed in situations that may sometimes feel unfamiliar or uncomfortable. The purpose is not to make things difficult for the sake of difficulty. It is to help children gradually develop the capacity to face difficulty without immediately avoiding it.

We want children to learn that a challenge does not automatically mean something is wrong.

Sometimes, the uncomfortable part is where learning begins.

Over time, these experiences can help children build the strength to face real-life problems as challenges, rather than seeing every difficulty as a reason to stop. The goal is not to raise children who never struggle.

The goal is to help them become children who can break through, rather than break down, when life becomes difficult.

But this cannot be achieved by the program alone.

Parents are an essential part of the process.

No learning program can create meaningful mindset transformation if the child experiences one purpose inside the program and a completely different message at home.

Children need consistency between what they are encouraged to practice and what they experience around them.

This does not mean parents need to become teachers, coaches, or supervisors. It means parents need to understand the purpose of the journey, allow their children to experience the process, and be willing to reflect alongside them.

Sometimes that means resisting the instinct to immediately solve a problem for the child.

Sometimes it means allowing a child to experience a little frustration instead of removing every uncomfortable situation.

Sometimes it means asking, “What did you learn from that?” rather than only asking, “Did you succeed?”

And sometimes it means looking at our own responses as parents and asking whether we are reinforcing the same mindset we hope our children will develop.

This is why GCC is not simply a program that parents send their children to.

It is a journey that families participate in together, with the child at the center.

The stronger the continuity, commitment, and alignment between the child’s experiences and the support they receive at home, the greater the possibility for meaningful transformation.

We cannot promise that every child will change in the same way or at the same pace.

What we can provide is an environment where children have repeated opportunities to experience, reflect, practice, and grow, while parents have the opportunity to understand and support that journey.

GCC provides the environment.
The child lives the experience.
Parents help sustain the environment beyond the program.
Transformation grows through continuity, commitment, and persistence.

2. Where does my child participate, and what is the role of each GCC platform?

GCC uses several platforms, and each one has a different role in the learning journey.

They are not simply separate apps for different activities. Together, they create an environment where children can participate, communicate, create, reflect, discuss, and gradually build a record of their learning journey.

The most important thing for parents to understand is that participation and observation across these spaces can become part of the child’s learning evidence.

Telegram: Communication and Coordination

Telegram is the immediate communication and coordination space for participants and parents.

It is where families can receive updates, ask questions, coordinate activities, respond to information, and communicate with the GCC team and community.

For children, it is also part of the active community environment. Their communication and participation can provide additional observations of how they engage with others, respond to situations, and take initiative.

Telegram is therefore not only where information is delivered. It is one of the places where participation happens.

Substack: The Learning Space

The GCC Learning Space is hosted through Substack.

This is where participants encounter deeper learning content through articles, reflections, questions, and other learning materials.

Children are not expected simply to read an article and move on.

The intended learning cycle is:

Read → Understand → Reflect → Respond → Discuss

Participants may be asked to leave comments, share their perspectives, answer questions, or connect the article to their own experiences.

Their responses provide another window into how they understand ideas, reflect, communicate, and respond to different perspectives.

These interactions can become a feed into the wider observation and analysis process.

Qboard by Padlet: Children’s Work and Reflections

Qboard by Padlet is where children can submit their actual work and responses.

Depending on the activity, this may include challenge submissions, reflections, journals, “How do you feel?” responses, creative work, observations, activity outputs, and other tasks coordinated by the ambassadors.

This space allows children to make their thinking and actions visible.

Sometimes the most useful information is not whether a child produced the “best” answer, but what they chose to do, how they approached a task, what they noticed, how they responded to difficulty, and how their thinking changes over time.

Zoom: Deeper Discussion and Interaction

Zoom provides a space for more intensive live interaction.

Children can discuss ideas directly with ambassadors and mentors, ask questions, explain their thinking, work through challenges, and learn from other participants.

These sessions are arranged at least once a week, with greater intensity when children are preparing for or participating in a bootcamp.

The live environment is important because not everything meaningful can be captured through written submissions.

Conversation, interaction, response, collaboration, and real-time decision-making can reveal different aspects of a child’s participation.

360: Observation from Multiple Perspectives

The 360 web application provides another important layer of the learning system.

It allows parents, educators, ambassadors, and other relevant members of the learning ecosystem to record observations about participants.

Importantly, observation is not limited to a scheduled activity.

When something relevant happens during a session, a discussion, a challenge, a conversation, or another moment connected to the learning journey, it can potentially be recorded as an observation.

This helps us avoid relying only on what a child submits or how they perform during a particular activity.

A child may behave differently when completing an individual challenge, working with a team, speaking with an adult, responding to a difficult situation, or participating informally in the community.

Multiple perspectives can therefore provide a more complete picture.

The purpose of 360 is not to create a surveillance system around children.

It is to create a structured way for the adults and facilitators who are genuinely involved in the learning environment to capture meaningful observations that might otherwise be forgotten.

Over time, these observations can contribute to understanding patterns in behavior and development.

For contributors and partners

GCC also includes people who contribute in different ways.

Backpackers, field contributors, educators, creators, companies, and institutional partners may have different roles from children and parents. They may contribute experiences, expertise, resources, opportunities, projects, or partnerships.

For that reason, they may be connected through different GCC spaces rather than being placed directly into the children’s learning group.

Their contributions can nevertheless become part of the wider learning ecosystem when they are relevant to the children’s experiences.

The purpose of having different spaces is not to create walls between people.

It is to make sure that each person can participate in the way that is appropriate to their role while remaining connected to the wider ecosystem.

How do all these platforms connect?

This is perhaps the most important part for parents to understand.

We are not collecting activity simply for the sake of collecting activity.

Each interaction can become a different type of observation.

A child may:

read and respond on Substack → communicate on Telegram → submit work on Qboard → discuss on Zoom → be observed through 360 → participate in challenges and bootcamps.

These different channels create different types of evidence.

Some evidence comes directly from the child.

Some comes from interaction.

Some comes from the work they produce.

Some comes from live discussion.

Some comes from observations made by parents, educators, ambassadors, and other relevant members of the learning ecosystem.

Over time, these data points can be processed and analyzed to help identify patterns in the child’s journey.

This is what supports the development of the Mindset Report.

The intention is not for the system to reduce a child to numbers or assign a simple score to their personality.

Rather, the different forms of participation and observation create a richer body of evidence that can help us notice patterns over time.

A child may demonstrate initiative in one environment, persistence in another, collaboration during a live discussion, and reflection through a journal. A parent or ambassador may notice the same child responding differently to an unfamiliar situation.

Individually, each observation is limited.

Together, and across time, they can begin to tell a much more meaningful story.

That is why continuity matters.

The more consistently a child participates, and the more meaningful observations are captured across different contexts, the more opportunities there are for patterns to emerge.

And this is also why GCC does not separate “learning” from “assessment” as completely different activities.

The learning journey itself generates the evidence from which reflection becomes possible.

The child participates.

The community observes.

The system captures the journey.

The data reveals patterns.

The patterns support reflection.

And the reflection helps inform the next stage of the journey.

3. What is the Mindset Report?

The Mindset Report is a longitudinal reflection of a child’s development, built from the experiences, participation, interactions, and observations accumulated throughout their GCC journey.

It is not a test result.

It is not a school report card.

It is not a personality label.

And it is not designed to tell a child, “This is who you are.”

Instead, it helps us look at the evidence of a child’s journey and ask:

What patterns are emerging?

How does the child respond to different situations?

What changes can we observe over time?

What strengths are becoming more visible?

Where might the child need more opportunities to explore, practice, or challenge themselves?

The fundamental idea is simple:

One moment is an observation.
Many observations over time can reveal a pattern.
Patterns can help us understand development.

How is the Mindset Report created?

The report does not come from a single activity or a single person’s opinion.

Throughout the GCC learning ecosystem, different interactions can generate different data points.

A child may read and respond to an article on Substack, communicate with others through Telegram, submit a reflection or challenge on Qboard, participate in a discussion on Zoom, or experience a situation during a session or bootcamp.

Parents, educators, ambassadors, and other relevant members of the learning environment can also record observations through the 360 system.

These different sources provide different perspectives.

Some data comes directly from what the child says or creates.

Some comes from how the child participates.

Some comes from observations made by people who interact with the child.

Some comes from how the child responds to particular situations or challenges.

The system brings these different data points together so that they can be processed and analyzed over time.

The basic architecture is:

Experience → Observation → Data → Pattern → Reflection

The Mindset Report is the reflection of that process.

Why do we need so many observations?

Because human behavior is contextual.

A child who appears confident in one environment may be hesitant in another.

A child who usually waits for instructions may suddenly take initiative when given a different type of challenge.

A child may struggle during one activity but demonstrate persistence when facing a similar difficulty later.

None of these individual moments should automatically become a conclusion about the child.

This is why GCC looks across different situations and different perspectives.

We are interested not only in what happened, but in whether something appears repeatedly, under what circumstances it happens, and how the pattern changes over time.

The objective is to move away from judging a child based on a single snapshot.

Why is it called a Mindset Report?

Because we are interested in more than what a child knows.

Knowledge can often be tested directly.

Mindset becomes visible through behavior.

How does a child approach an unfamiliar situation?

Do they take initiative?

How do they respond when something does not work?

Can they adapt?

How do they work with others?

Do they reflect on their own actions?

Can they continue when something becomes uncomfortable?

Do they begin to recognize their own choices and take greater ownership of them?

These are not questions that can be answered meaningfully through a single test.

They become more visible through experience.

That is why the learning environment itself is an important part of the measurement process.

Is the report measuring the child’s personality?

No.

A mindset is not a fixed personality type.

Children are developing human beings, and their behavior can change according to context, experience, relationships, confidence, understanding, and many other factors.

The report therefore should not be interpreted as:

“My child is this type of person.”

It should be understood more as:

“These are the patterns we are currently observing in this child’s journey.”

That distinction is important because a report should create possibility, not limitation.

If a child is currently struggling with something, that does not mean the child will always struggle with it.

It means we have identified something that may deserve attention, experience, practice, or support.

Why is continuity so important?

Mindset transformation takes time.

A child cannot meaningfully develop resilience, initiative, adaptability, responsibility, or other qualities through a single workshop.

They need repeated opportunities to experience situations, respond to them, reflect, try again, and gradually build new ways of approaching challenges.

The same principle applies to observation.

The more consistently a child participates, the more opportunities the system has to observe behavior across different contexts.

The first quarter may establish a baseline.

The next quarter may reveal a change.

Several quarters may begin to reveal a meaningful pattern.

This is why GCC encourages continuity, commitment, and persistence.

The Mindset Report becomes more meaningful as the journey develops.

What if my child has very little participation?

The quality of a report depends on the quality and amount of evidence available.

A child who participates only occasionally will naturally generate fewer data points than a child who participates consistently.

A first-quarter report can still be useful as a baseline, particularly for a family that intends to continue the journey.

However, we should not pretend that limited participation can produce the same depth of insight as sustained participation.

The report should reflect the strength of the available evidence.

This is an important principle for us:

We would rather acknowledge that the data is still developing than create a false sense of certainty about a child.

Does the report show growth?

That is one of its most important purposes.

A single report can provide a snapshot of the patterns observed during that period.

But the greater value emerges when reports accumulate across quarters.

Then we can begin to ask:

What has remained consistent?

What has changed?

What new behaviors have emerged?

Where is the child becoming more intentional?

How are they responding differently to challenges?

What experiences appear to have influenced the change?

This creates a longitudinal view of development.

We are not simply asking whether a child is “better” than before.

We are trying to understand how the child is developing.

Where do parents fit into the report?

Parents are an important part of this ecosystem.

A child’s development does not stop when a GCC session ends. The child continues living, making decisions, facing challenges, interacting with people, and learning at home and in the wider world.

Parents may therefore notice things that educators or ambassadors never see.

That is why parents can contribute observations through the 360 system.

At the same time, parent involvement is not about constantly evaluating the child.

The purpose is to provide meaningful observations from another context.

Over time, these different perspectives can help create a richer picture of the child’s development.

This is also why we describe the report as potentially becoming a mirror for the family.

It can encourage parents to ask not only:

“What is my child doing?”

but also:

“How are we supporting this development?”

“How do we respond when our child struggles?”

“Are we giving them enough space to experience challenges themselves?”

“Are we reinforcing the same mindset at home that we are encouraging through GCC?”

The report is not intended to grade the parent.

It is an opportunity for the family to reflect together.

What is the report ultimately for?

The report is not the destination of the GCC journey.

It is a tool for making the journey more visible.

It gives children, parents, ambassadors, educators, and the learning system an opportunity to pause and look at what has been happening.

The child can begin to understand themselves.

Parents can gain another perspective on their child’s development.

The learning team can identify where further opportunities may be useful.

And as more data accumulates, the system itself can potentially learn from patterns across many journeys.

This is where the longer-term vision becomes particularly interesting.

The Mindset Report may begin as a way of reflecting an individual child’s development.

But longitudinal data could eventually help GCC discover patterns across the learning ecosystem and generate hypotheses for improving future learning experiences.

In that sense, the report is not simply a document produced at the end of a quarter.

It is one part of a continuous learning loop.

Children experience.
The ecosystem observes.
The system identifies patterns.
The report makes those patterns visible.
The family reflects.
The next journey begins.

4. What does the SGD 50 Mindset Report fee cover?

The SGD 50 quarterly fee is for the Mindset Report process, not for access to GCC’s learning community itself.

The distinction is important.

GCC is built around participation and learning. Children can participate in the learning ecosystem through the activities, discussions, challenges, Learning Space, bootcamps, and other experiences available to them.

The Mindset Report is a separate layer that organizes and interprets the data generated through that journey.

In simple terms:

The child participates.
The ecosystem generates observations.
The system processes the data.
The quarterly report turns those patterns into a reflection for the family.

The SGD 50 covers this reporting process.

5. Is the Mindset Report something I can simply purchase?

Not in the same way that we purchase a conventional product.

A meaningful report requires meaningful participation.

There needs to be something to observe before there can be something meaningful to reflect on.

This is why the report is connected to the child’s participation in GCC.

The fee does not buy a predetermined assessment result.

It supports the process of structuring and interpreting the accumulated data from that quarter into a Mindset Report.

6. Is the SGD 50 per child?

Yes. The quarterly Mindset Report fee is per participating child.

This is because each child’s report is based on that child’s own participation, observations, and accumulated data.

The report is therefore individual rather than a general family membership report.

7. Is GCC membership itself SGD 50?

No.

The SGD 50 should not be understood as a general GCC membership fee.

It is specifically associated with the quarterly Mindset Report.

This distinction allows families to participate in the learning ecosystem without turning every aspect of learning into a paid product.

8. Why not simply make the report free?

Because producing a meaningful longitudinal report requires a structured process.

The data comes from many different interactions and observation points. It needs to be organized, processed, analyzed, and translated into something that can be meaningfully understood and discussed by the family.

The fee supports that layer of the system.

At the same time, we want to preserve the principle that learning itself should not become something that is only accessible to families who can afford to purchase additional products.

There are times when the report becomes free — when ambassadors earn it.

The report is not simply something to be received; it becomes part of an ongoing cycle of reflection, action, and accountability.

Once an ambassador has secured a report, they are expected to complete the reflection process and work together with their parent or guardian to identify and act on what the report reveals. The cycle is only considered complete when the actions have been carried out and reported back, effectively closing the loop.

When the cycle is completed, the ambassador earns the next report for free.

In this way, the report is not a one-time assessment. It becomes a tool that encourages ambassadors and their families to reflect, act, learn, and repeat.

The learning journey and the reporting process therefore serve different purposes.

9. What if there isn’t enough data?

This is an important question, and we want to be transparent about it.

The richness of a report depends on the amount and quality of evidence available.

If a child has participated only minimally during a quarter, the resulting report may naturally be more limited.

That does not necessarily mean the report has no value. It may establish an initial baseline that becomes more meaningful as the child continues.

However, families should not expect a very detailed longitudinal picture from very limited participation.

Our intention is to be honest about what the data can and cannot tell us.

10. Why is the report quarterly?

Because mindset development is a process, not an event.

A quarterly cycle provides enough time for different experiences and observations to accumulate while still giving families regular opportunities to pause and reflect.

Each quarter becomes another chapter rather than a completely separate assessment.

Over time, the reports can therefore become part of a longer developmental record.

The first report may help establish a baseline.

The next may show emerging changes.

Later reports may reveal patterns that would have been invisible from a single observation.

11. What should parents expect to receive?

Parents should expect the Mindset Report to provide a structured reflection on the patterns emerging from their child’s participation and observations during the reporting period.

It should help answer questions such as:

What have we observed?

What patterns are emerging?

What appears to be developing?

What might be worth exploring next?

The report is not intended to tell parents exactly how to raise their child.

Instead, it should provide useful evidence and perspectives that can support better conversations between the child, the parent, and the learning environment.

Ultimately, the value of the SGD 50 is not in the number of pages in a report.

Its value is in helping turn a quarter of lived experiences into something the family can see, reflect on, and use for the next stage of the journey.

12. What if my child can only participate a little at first?

That is okay. It is a process.

Children enter GCC with different circumstances, schedules, personalities, ages, levels of confidence, and readiness. We do not expect every child to participate at the same intensity from the beginning.

What is important is understanding the difference between starting slowly and expecting transformation immediately.

A child who participates in only a limited number of activities during the first quarter can still begin building their journey. Their early participation can establish an initial baseline and give the child, family, and learning team an opportunity to understand how they engage.

However, the amount of meaningful insight we can develop will naturally depend on the amount and variety of evidence available.

A few observations cannot tell the same story as months of participation across different situations.

13. Does my child need to attend everything?

It would be wonderful if children developed the energy and curiosity to want to participate in everything. In fact, building that willingness to participate is part of what we are trying to cultivate.

GCC is designed around weekly and sustained engagement, with children taking an active role in the learning ecosystem.

At the same time, we understand that not every child will be able to participate in every available activity.

What matters is that children learn to participate meaningfully and take responsibility for the roles they do take on.

GCC uses RASCI to help clarify responsibilities within activities and projects. This is not simply an internal management tool. It can also become a practical learning experience for children.

When children are given a responsibility, they experience what it means to commit to something, communicate with others, complete what they have taken responsibility for, and understand how their actions affect the wider team.

In other words, we do not only teach accountability as a concept.

We give children opportunities to experience accountability through execution.

Different activities provide different opportunities, and participation should therefore be meaningful rather than simply a matter of collecting attendance.

At the same time, continuity matters.

If a child participates only once in a long period, there may not be enough opportunity to experience the process, develop consistency, or observe meaningful patterns.

The aim is therefore not:

“Do everything.”

It is:

“Participate consistently enough for meaningful experiences and patterns to emerge.”

14. What happens if the first quarter has limited data?

The first quarter can still be useful.

It may serve as a starting point or baseline.

The report can reflect what has actually been observed while being transparent about the limitations of the available data.

We do not want to fill gaps with assumptions simply to make a report look complete.

If the evidence is limited, the report should say so.

This is important because honesty about what we do not yet know is part of responsible observation.

A baseline does not need to be perfect.

It needs to be honest enough to become a useful starting point.

15. Should we wait until our child is more active before taking a Mindset Report?

There is no universal answer.

If a family is already committed to continuing with GCC, an initial report can provide a useful baseline even when participation is still developing.

However, families should understand that the first report may be lighter than later reports.

The value of the longitudinal approach is that the picture becomes richer over time.

Think of it as beginning a journal.

The first few pages may tell us something.

A journal kept over a year can reveal patterns that were impossible to see on the first day.

The same principle applies here.

16. What if my child is shy, hesitant, or uncomfortable?

This is not necessarily something we want to eliminate immediately.

We truly believe that discomfort can be where development begins.

A child may initially hesitate to speak, join a group, make a decision, take responsibility, or try something unfamiliar.

The purpose of GCC is not to force a child to become comfortable with everything immediately.

Instead, we want to create opportunities for the child to gradually experience those situations, understand their own responses, and build the capacity to navigate them.

This is particularly important for developing resilience.

We want children to learn that:

“I am uncomfortable” does not automatically mean “I cannot do this.”

With appropriate support and repeated experiences, discomfort can become something a child learns to navigate rather than something they must always avoid.

The intention is not to make children comfortable all the time.

It is to help them become increasingly capable of facing what is uncomfortable without immediately breaking down or giving up.

17. What is the role of parents when participation is limited?

Parents can make a significant difference here.

The most helpful response is not always to push the child harder.

Sometimes it is to understand why the child is hesitant.

Sometimes it is to give them space.

Sometimes it is to encourage them to take one small step.

And sometimes it is to allow them to experience a challenge without immediately solving it for them.

Parents are therefore encouraged to observe and reflect alongside the child.

The goal is not to manufacture participation simply to produce more data.

The goal is to help the child gradually develop the willingness and capacity to participate meaningfully.

This is also where alignment between GCC and home becomes important.

If GCC is encouraging a child to take responsibility, face challenges, persist through difficulty, and learn from mistakes, but every difficult situation is immediately removed for them at home, the child receives two very different messages.

Transformation needs continuity beyond the activity itself.

Parents do not need to reproduce GCC at home.

But understanding the purpose of the journey and supporting the same fundamental principles can make a significant difference.

18. Why does continuity matter so much?

Because the development we are interested in cannot be created through isolated events.

Resilience, initiative, adaptability, responsibility, collaboration, and other aspects of mindset develop through repeated experience.

A child experiences a challenge.

They respond.

They reflect.

They try again.

They encounter another situation.

They respond differently.

Over time, something begins to change.

That is the journey we want to observe.

So if a child can only begin with a small amount of participation, start there.

Enjoy the journey.

When the family wants to understand meaningful development, the journey needs the opportunity to continue.

Start where you are.
Participate meaningfully.
Take responsibility.
Stay consistent.
Allow the patterns to emerge.

That is much more valuable than trying to produce an impressive first report.

19. What is the role of parents in the GCC journey?

Parents are an important part of GCC.

Not because parents are expected to manage their child’s every activity, but because mindset development does not happen only inside a program.

A child may spend a few hours each week participating in GCC, but the rest of their life happens at home, at school, with friends, and in the wider community.

The environment surrounding the child therefore matters.

GCC can create experiences, challenges, opportunities, and observations.

But we cannot transform a child’s mindset on their behalf.

20. Are parents expected to become teachers or coaches?

No.

Your role is not to teach the GCC curriculum at home or supervise every response your child makes.

In fact, there will be moments when the most valuable thing a parent can do is step back and allow the child to experience something for themselves.

If a child encounters a difficult task, for example, the first response does not always need to be:

“Let me help you.”

Sometimes a better response is:

“What do you think you could try?”

The purpose is not to leave children alone with their difficulties.

It is to give them enough space to develop their own capacity before stepping in.

21. Why does parent alignment matter?

Because children learn not only from what adults tell them, but from what adults consistently demonstrate.

If GCC encourages a child to take responsibility, persist through difficulty, learn from mistakes, and face uncomfortable situations, but the child’s environment consistently removes every difficulty, solves every problem, or treats every mistake as something to avoid, the messages become contradictory.

The child may hear:

“Be resilient.”

while experiencing:

“You don’t need to struggle. I’ll fix it.”

This is why we talk about alignment, rather than asking parents to become instructors.

Parents do not need to replicate the GCC program at home.

They simply need to understand the purpose behind it and, where possible, support the same principles in everyday life.

22. What can parents actually do?

Small things can make a significant difference.

Instead of immediately judging the outcome, ask about the process.

Instead of solving every problem, give the child an opportunity to think.

Instead of asking only, “Did you win?”, ask, “What did you discover?”

Instead of protecting children from every uncomfortable situation, help them understand what they are experiencing.

Instead of focusing only on weaknesses, notice moments of initiative, persistence, responsibility, curiosity, collaboration, and growth.

And sometimes, simply listen.

A child’s reflection may reveal something that would otherwise remain invisible.

23. Are parents also observers?

Yes.

Parents see their children in contexts that GCC facilitators may never see.

That is why parents can contribute observations through the 360 system when they notice something relevant to the child’s development.

These observations are not intended to become a constant evaluation of the child.

Parents are not expected to record every behavior.

The purpose is to capture meaningful observations that may help us understand the child across different environments.

A child’s behavior during a GCC challenge may look different from their behavior at home.

Neither perspective is automatically more correct.

Together, they can provide a richer picture.

24. Are parents being assessed too?

The purpose is not to grade parents.

However, parent involvement is relevant because the child’s development is connected to the environment around them.

The Mindset Report can therefore encourage family reflection.

Parents may discover that their child is becoming more independent, for example, while also realizing that they themselves need to become more comfortable allowing that independence.

Or they may notice that the child is learning to persist through difficulty while they are still instinctively trying to remove difficulties for them.

These are not failures.

They are opportunities for the whole family to grow.

25. What happens if parents cannot participate very actively?

We understand that families have different circumstances.

Parent involvement does not mean being present at every session or monitoring every activity.

What matters is meaningful engagement and understanding.

Even simple actions can help:

Know what your child is experiencing.

Ask about their experience.

Listen to their reflection.

Give them space to try.

Support them when they genuinely need help.

Stay connected with the learning journey.

And when possible, contribute your own observations.

26. What does GCC ultimately expect from parents?

We do not ask parents to become perfect.

We ask them to become partners in the process.

The child is the primary participant.

GCC provides the environment and experiences.

The wider community provides different perspectives and opportunities.

Parents provide continuity beyond the program.

When these elements are aligned, the possibility for meaningful development becomes much stronger.

Because ultimately, no program can transform a child by itself.

Transformation happens through repeated experiences, relationships, reflection, and practice across the child’s real environment.

GCC can create the conditions.

The child has to experience the journey.

And the family helps make that journey sustainable.

27. Who can see my child’s information, and how is it used?

Because GCC uses participation and observation as part of the learning process, it is important for families to understand what happens to the information generated through that journey.

The first principle is simple:

A child’s learning participation should not become a public performance.

GCC has communal learning spaces where children can interact, share ideas, read, discuss, create, and learn from one another.

But personal developmental information is different.

A child’s individual observations, accumulated behavioral data, and Mindset Report are personal. They belong within the appropriate private access for the family and authorized members of the learning team.

28. What information is being collected?

The system may capture different kinds of learning evidence, depending on the activity and context.

This can include:

• The child’s responses and reflections

• Work submitted through Qboard

• Comments and participation in the Learning Space

• Relevant interactions within the community

• Participation in challenges, sessions, and bootcamps

• Observations recorded through the 360 system

• Observations from parents, educators, ambassadors, and other relevant members of the learning environment

The purpose is not to collect everything a child does.

The purpose is to capture meaningful evidence related to their learning and development.

More importantly, we want children and parents to gradually understand why an activity matters, what can be learned from it, and what value may be hidden within the experience.

An activity is not simply something to complete.

It can become an opportunity to discover something about ourselves.

29. Why do we need observations from different people?

Because no single person sees the whole child.

An ambassador may observe how a child responds during a team challenge.

A mentor may notice how they explain their thinking.

A parent may observe how they respond to responsibility at home.

An educator may see how they behave in another learning environment.

These observations provide different contexts.

The system can then look for patterns across those contexts rather than relying on one person’s interpretation.

This is particularly important because behavior is contextual.

A child may behave differently in different environments, and that difference itself can be meaningful.

30. Does this mean my child is constantly being watched?

No.

The purpose of the system is not surveillance.

We are not trying to create a permanent record of every action a child takes.

Observation should be intentional and relevant.

The 360 system exists so that meaningful observations can be captured when they occur, rather than relying entirely on memory at the end of a quarter.

For example:

“During the team challenge, the child initially waited for instructions but later proposed an alternative approach when the first plan stopped working.”

This is very different from simply recording:

“Good.”

The first observation gives us context. It tells us what happened, how the child responded, and what changed during the experience. That makes it potentially useful for understanding a pattern over time.

31. Can other children see my child’s Mindset Report?

No.

The Mindset Report is a private and personal document. It is not intended for public consumption or comparison between children.

Children may naturally see one another’s contributions in shared learning activities, depending on how an activity is designed.

But individual developmental reflections and reports should remain within the appropriate private family and authorized learning-team environment.

This distinction allows children to learn publicly from one another while keeping personal developmental information appropriately protected.

We do not want children learning to perform for a report or comparing their development against someone else’s.

The journey is personal.

32. Is the data used to label children?

No.

We are not interested in simply deciding that a child is:

“confident,”

“shy,”

“a leader,”

“a follower,”

or any other fixed category.

Instead, we want to help a child understand their superpowers and the shadows that may come with those superpowers.

A strength can sometimes create a blind spot.

Confidence may sometimes become overconfidence.

Independence may sometimes make collaboration difficult.

Carefulness may sometimes become hesitation.

A strong desire to help others may sometimes make it difficult to delegate.

The purpose of the report is to help children recognize both sides, understand the context in which they appear, and gradually learn how to use their strengths more intentionally while managing the shadows that accompany them.

This is why the system looks for patterns that may change over time, rather than fixed labels.

A child who hesitates today may take initiative later.

A child who confidently leads one activity may learn that listening is sometimes the more effective choice in another.

The data should therefore help a child understand themselves more deeply, not place them inside a category.

33. Can the system make conclusions about my child automatically?

The system can help organize and identify patterns within accumulated data, but the intention is not to let an automated system decide who a child is.

The Mindset Report should be understood as a structured reflection supported by data, rather than an algorithmic verdict.

Human judgment, context, and interpretation remain important.

As the system develops, AI may help us notice patterns that would be difficult to identify manually across large amounts of longitudinal data.

But identifying a pattern is not the same as defining a child.

Technology can help us see.

It should not decide who the child becomes.

34. Why collect the data at all?

Because without data and reference, reflection becomes largely dependent on memory and impression.

A parent may remember a difficult moment.

An ambassador may remember a particularly impressive performance.

A mentor may remember a child who suddenly took initiative.

But memory naturally selects moments.

A structured system allows us to preserve a broader range of meaningful observations and look at them over time.

More importantly, the data allows us to return to the experiences themselves and ask:

What actually happened?

What did the child do?

What might the child have learned?

What was the value within that experience?

What could they try differently next time?

This is crucial to mindset transformation.

We do not want children to simply complete activities.

We want them to gradually understand the meaning behind the experience and recognize what each experience can teach them about themselves, other people, and the world around them.

The purpose is ultimately constructive:

to help the child understand their own development, help parents understand their child’s journey, and help GCC improve the learning environment itself.

The data should therefore serve the learner.

Not the other way around.

35. What is the principle behind all of this?

We want children to be able to grow without feeling that every action is being judged or performed for an audience.

We want parents to have meaningful insight without turning family life into an assessment center.

We want educators and ambassadors to be able to observe responsibly without reducing children to scores.

We want children and parents to understand that the value of an activity is not always in the immediate result. Sometimes its greatest value is what the experience reveals, challenges, or develops within the person.

And we use technology to help humans see patterns without replacing human understanding.

Welcome to the Global Citizens Community @ THE LEARNING SPACE — a growing network of young people who learn, explore, collaborate and take action together, supported by parents, educators and Ambassadors across countries and communities. This is a space for the kids by the kids.

Joining the community is not simply about signing up for a program. Onboarding is the first step of the journey. It helps every participant understand where they are going, why they are doing it, how the community works, and where they can contribute.

The community is designed to extend learning beyond the traditional classroom — connecting people, ideas and experiences through a combination of weekly learning, digital collaboration, immersive experiences and real-world action.

SECTION I
For Participants: Experience the Journey

Join us if you want to find your superpower. Here are the superpowers that our participants and ambassador.

Anyway, every participant begins with a simple process:

Register → Join Telegram → Understand → Participate → Create → Share → Reflect

After registration, participants join the Telegram community, which serves as the primary channel for day-to-day communication. They then begin exploring the learning materials and discovering What is a Global Citizen? They will also become familiar with the Global Citizens Framework, weekly learning process, Team FD, program schedules, expectations and opportunities available within the community.

Participants will use several digital tools throughout their journey:

• Substack — learning materials, updates and important information

• QBoards/Padlet — discussions, reflections and sharing ideas

• Gallery — showcasing projects, achievements and contributions

• Telegram — daily communication and community support

• Zoom — online sessions, workshops and additional learning experiences

These tools are not separate platforms operating in isolation. Together, they create a learning environment where participants can learn, think, create, share and connect beyond the classroom.

Participants will take part in weekly activities, discussions, Zoom sessions and challenges. They will read, think, create, share their work and learn from others. The aim is not simply to complete assignments, but to turn learning into action.

And participants are never expected to figure everything out alone.

Ambassadors are there to support them — helping them join the platforms, understand the activities, submit their work, ask questions and stay engaged. They can also help participants continue their learning when they are unable to attend an activity physically.

This means that missing an immersive experience does not have to mean missing the learning. The community is designed to provide alternative ways to participate, connect and contribute.

SECTION II
For Ambassadors: Help Others Experience the Journey

Becoming an Ambassador means moving beyond being a participant.

An Ambassador is someone who is ready to help others learn, participate and take action.

The first step is understanding your own assessment score and eligibility. From there, Ambassadors will learn about their roles, responsibilities, deliverables and RACI, as well as the Mindset Report and TAP-TAP evaluation process.

But the most important part of the Ambassador role is practical.

Ambassadors should be able to help participants:

• Join Telegram and navigate the community

• Subscribe to and engage with Substack

• Understand where and how to comment

• Use QBoards and submit challenges

• Join Zoom sessions

• Understand the weekly activities

• Participate in challenges and initiatives

• Ask questions and find support

• Continue their learning when they cannot attend an immersive activity

Ambassadors will also support weekly initiatives, hybrid bootcamps, online sessions and additional Zoom experiences. They may help coordinate activities, encourage participation, support other members and contribute to the successful delivery of programs and bootcamps.

Their role is therefore not simply administrative.

Ambassadors are role models within the community.

They help create an environment where people feel comfortable asking questions, trying something new, making mistakes, sharing ideas and learning from one another.

Working with Parents and Guardians

Parents and guardians are an important part of the journey.

They should understand what their children are doing, why they are doing it, what is expected of them and what opportunities are available through the community.

Ambassadors play an important role in creating this bridge between the program and families. They can help parents navigate the process, understand expectations and find the information they need.

At the same time, Ambassadors are encouraged to involve their own parents and guardians in understanding and supporting their Ambassador journey.

Questions from parents are welcomed. Rather than treating every question as a one-off problem, the community will gradually turn recurring questions into a living FAQ — a resource that grows as the community grows.

More Than Onboarding

The Global Citizens onboarding process is therefore not just a list of instructions.

It is the beginning of a community.

Participants experience the journey.

Ambassadors help others navigate the journey.

Parents enable the journey.

Educators and the wider community help create the conditions for learning, experimentation and action.

Everyone has a role to play.

As the community grows, the onboarding materials, FAQs, activities and support systems will continue to evolve. Questions will become resources. Experiences will become learning. Participants will gradually become the people who help the next generation of Global Citizens begin their own journey.

The goal is not to create a community where everyone simply follows instructions.

It is to build a community where people gradually learn to find their way, help others, take responsibility and create impact.

Negotiation, it’s not just a debate to get results, but how to get an agreement in a fair way for both parties. Negotiation provides the best results without reducing anything, with the same burden but an agreement that is agreed by both parties. Negotiations are usually satisfactory because both parties benefit, but sometimes negotiations will end badly if the negotiations are not accompanied by agreement. If you negotiate then you have to keep your promise, for example, play first then study, but later you have to study, not pretend to forget. Because no matter what, you have promised, and it must be kept. Negotiation is also a process of finding common ground, not by forcing one’s will, but through honest dialogue grounded in reason and the mutual search for truth. Instead of viewing a negotiation as a battlefield to defeat an opponent, a philosophically-minded negotiator treats the other party as a partner in thought to understand the essence of the most fair and rational needs.

One day, Ale saw his classmate bringing a big packet of popcorn to school. Ale really wanted some, so he asked, “Can you give me one handful, please?” However, his friend did not want to give him any popcorn.

Instead of giving up, Ale decided to negotiate. He said, “If you give me one handful of popcorn today, I will bring you two dry snacks tomorrow.” His friend thought about it for a while and then replied, “This popcorn is a bit expensive, so you should add something more.”

Ale agreed and decided to add one ice cream to the deal. In the end, his friend gave him one handful of popcorn, and Ale promised to bring two dry snacks and one ice cream the next day. Both of them were happy with the deal because they felt that they were getting something fair in return.

Lesson: We should learn how to negotiate so that both people can get a fair deal. We should not let one person always give while the other person only takes. A good negotiation should make both sides feel that the deal is fair and comfortable.

B. CHALLENGE CARDS

In the previous chapter, we explored Resourcefulness—learning to make the most of what we already have. Resources are not limited to money or materials. They can include our knowledge, skills, time, relationships, ideas, and the people around us. Being resourceful means looking at what is available and finding creative ways to use it to move forward.

But sometimes, the resources we need are not entirely within our control. We may need to work with people who have different opinions, expectations, priorities, or goals. The next question is: How can we work with others to turn different needs into a solution?

This chapter is about Negotiation.

Negotiation is the ability to find a fair agreement when people have different needs, opinions, or goals. It is not simply about winning an argument or getting what we want. Good negotiation means listening, understanding the other person’s perspective, sharing our own needs clearly, and finding common ground that works for both sides.

During the session, MIHF explained that negotiation is not about forcing one’s will. It is a process of honest dialogue, where both sides try to understand each other and search for a reasonable solution. Sometimes, negotiation means adjusting our expectations, sharing responsibilities, or finding a new option that neither person had considered before.

Being a good negotiator means asking different questions: What does the other person need? What do I need? Where do our interests overlap? What can we change? What solution would be fair to both of us? Can we agree on something and keep our promise?

Just as resourcefulness helps us make the most of what we have, negotiation helps us make the most of what we can build together.

The future belongs not only to those who can use their resources wisely, but also to those who can listen, find common ground, and build agreements that work for everyone. |

C. Participant Evaluation Summary -

The most powerful part of ELF’s comment was this idea:

“You know what people do when they are desperate.”

But the stronger insight came immediately after, when she connected desperation to failed plans:

“When things don’t go their way, or when their plan does not happen. Negotiation usually occurs when your plan doesn’t go…”

Her underlying point was powerful: you learn a lot about someone’s real behavior when their original plan fails and they become desperate to get a different outcome.

That is actually a very good Global Citizen observation because she wasn’t just judging JFP’s cheating — she was asking what caused the behavior

The Vietnamese Team had Jacob , Luna , Jimmy , Mike and Hana . Mike as usual was doing a good job with others slightly on the distracted Note.

D. Sessions Summary

The session began with JFP guiding the team through the agenda before explaining the concept of the Global Citizen to two new members, Tenri and Lemon. As ALE was away on a trip, JFP took on the role of host for the session.

The session started with a mindfulness exercise led by Halii, accompanied by calm and peaceful music played by JFP. After Halii completed the breathing exercise, the team moved on to reviewing the journals.

During the journal review, Mr. DAV79 discovered that JFP had used ChatGPT to generate his journal and had initially claimed that he had asked a friend to complete it. Mr. DAV79 also addressed the Vietnamese team for failing to complete their challenges and for giving weak excuses instead of taking responsibility. Halii, although she had not uploaded her journal, had actually completed her challenge, while Lemon was honest about not completing theirs.

For the new challenges, the team first went through the stories before reviewing the progress. Mr. DAV79 again caught JFP for failing to update the game and reprimanded him for attempting to misrepresent what had happened.

The session concluded with a quick review of the scoreboards that had not yet been updated. Although the team tried to move through them as quickly as possible, the discussion still ran approximately 10–15 minutes over the scheduled time.

27.08.15 PART I

The Team FD strategy on Aug 15 meeting was not merely a discussion about an upcoming bootcamp. Beneath the planning of routes, activities and partnerships lay a much larger question: how do we help young people develop the mindset needed to navigate an increasingly complex world?

Bringing together leaders from Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia and other regions, the conversation moved beyond logistics and into the philosophy, structure and long-term vision of the Global Citizen Club (GCC) ecosystem. While the upcoming Sustainability Bootcamp in October served as the immediate focus, participants repeatedly returned to a deeper objective — helping children learn how to think, not simply what to think.

One of the first major themes emerged when SAHN reflected on the purpose of the GCC movement. He reminded the group that meaningful development cannot be measured through isolated events or short-term outcomes.

“Change in mindsets, in attitudes, in behaviors takes a little time. It’s not just flipping a switch,” he explained.

For SAHN, the weekly sessions, challenges, discussions and bootcamps are not standalone activities. Rather, they form part of a longer developmental process. Children are constantly exposed to competing influences from schools, peers, communities and digital media. The role of the GCC ecosystem is to provide a consistent environment where they can gradually develop judgment, perspective and resilience.

He emphasized that results often become visible only after months of participation.

“Every week or every session that we have helps our children sharpen their minds and widen their thought process,” he said. “It’s not very easy for a ten-year-old to think long-term, but that’s something we have to help them gain perspective on.”

This philosophy would later become the foundation for discussions about the Sustainability Bootcamp.

Building on that perspective, DAV79 shifted the conversation toward the October program, which will bring participants through Singapore, Malacca and Ipoh. However, he was quick to clarify that the bootcamp is not intended to be another sustainability awareness event.

“The most important thing here on this bootcamp is we will show the real purpose of sustainability,” he explained.

Rather than presenting sustainability as a predefined concept, the organizers want participants to investigate it from multiple perspectives. Students, travellers, companies and community partners will all contribute different viewpoints, allowing participants to wrestle with the question themselves rather than receiving ready-made answers.

“We want the students to understand the purpose of sustainability,” DAV79 continued. “We are trying to get that question answered by the nomadic travellers and by the Project Infinity students.”

This marked an important distinction. The bootcamp is designed less as a teaching exercise and more as an inquiry process, where participants are expected to challenge assumptions, explore contradictions and discover their own conclusions.

The conversation then turned toward the design of the learning journey itself. LIN91 explained that Team FD deliberately avoids creating identical programs.

“All of the bootcamps that we have are very different,” she noted.

According to LIN91, every bootcamp is shaped by its location, participants and environment. The decision to travel across multiple cities is therefore intentional rather than logistical.

“They are tied to the place and the nature of the crowd, of the participant, of the kid and the parents as well,” she explained.

Singapore, Malacca and Ipoh will each serve as living classrooms, exposing participants to different realities, challenges and opportunities.

“Singapore, Malacca and Ipoh will each be a symbol for one of the character traits that we want to introduce and reinforce in the student. Now these are moving blocks and some of the plans could change depending on the discussions following the recce”

The discussion soon moved beyond the bootcamp itself and into what many participants considered the most significant strategic vision presented during the meeting.

LIN91 introduced the concept of the Mindset Report, describing it as a central component that could eventually connect every Team FD initiative into a single ecosystem.

“Mindset report will be a key product, a core deliverable of all of the activity in FD,” she said.

Rather than measuring academic achievement, the report aims to capture how individuals think, make decisions, solve problems and respond to challenges. More importantly, it is designed to follow individuals throughout different stages of life.

“When they are school students, we have the program to capture and evaluate it. When they are university students, we have another program. When they get into the work environment, we also have programs.”

She described the report as a long-term mechanism capable of continuously tracking mindset development over time.

“It’s supposed to be a mechanism to continuously capture and evaluate the mindset of each individual in each phase in their life.”

This revelation fundamentally reframed the discussion. The Global Citizen Club, ambassador programs, bootcamps, traveller initiatives and partner activities were no longer separate projects. Instead, they appeared to be interconnected environments designed to generate evidence of mindset in action.

The Sustainability Bootcamp itself was then positioned within this broader framework through three distinct archetypes.

Returning to the October program, DAV79 explained that sustainability would be explored through three different lenses, each linked to a specific city.

“In Singapore for now, the theme is being an Eco Auditor.” but again we may change Singapore - depending on the Logistics availability and cost .

Participants will examine systems, consequences and impact, learning to observe and question how resources are used.

“In Ipoh, it will be about being a Value Hunter, to see what more can we do.”

Here, students will be encouraged to identify hidden opportunities, underutilized resources and unrealized potential.

Finally, the journey will explore a less tangible but equally important dimension.

“In Malacca, the question is where is the soul?” DAV79 asked.

He explained that while development and investment are important, communities must also preserve identity, meaning and heritage.

“The theme is being a Soul Builder.”

Together, the three archetypes — Eco Auditor, Value Hunter and Soul Builder — provide a practical framework through which participants can explore sustainability beyond environmental issues alone. The intention is to examine sustainability in terms of systems, opportunities and human purpose.

As the meeting drew toward its conclusion, the discussion shifted to one of the biggest challenges facing the organization.

Mr. Trong reflected on the difficulty of communicating the value of the program to newcomers.

“Students and parents only understand the program after they join the bootcamp,” he observed.

While existing participants often become enthusiastic supporters, helping new families understand the experience beforehand remains a challenge.

“We need to find a new way to open the door and get them into the program.”

His comment resonated strongly with the group because it highlighted a central tension. The ecosystem is designed around experience, reflection and long-term growth. Yet those same qualities can be difficult to explain through brochures, presentations or promotional materials alone.

The Sustainability Bootcamp was no longer being discussed as a three-day event. It had become a milestone within a much larger journey — one that seeks to develop globally minded individuals capable of questioning assumptions, identifying opportunities, preserving meaning and continuously improving their decision-making capabilities. There was a side discussion with Mr Trong, where DAV79 explained that the critical part was not about filling with numbers - but getting the right member. The objective was to increase the quality of the Program by accelerating the quality of the participants themselves. And that would be a challenge and the best source would be through experiencing the program itself.

The discussions revealed an organization that is increasingly focused not on delivering activities, but on building environments where mindset can be observed, challenged and strengthened over time. Whether through the Global Citizen Club, ambassador initiatives, international partnerships or the emerging Mindset Report ecosystem, the common objective remained remarkably consistent: helping individuals become more intentional thinkers in a rapidly changing world.

The second series discussion moved beyond the immediate planning of the Malaysia Bootcamp and began to clarify how the programme connects to the wider Team FD ecosystem.

The Bootcamp itself is becoming increasingly structured, but its purpose extends beyond the delivery of a single event. It is designed as a practical laboratory for developing questions, perspectives, experiences and outputs that can continue to travel beyond the Bootcamp itself.

Within the wider FD ecosystem, four distinct programmes serve different communities:

• GCC — for school students, developing the ability to observe, question and act.

• The Nomadic Series — for backpackers and travellers, taking questions into different cities, cultures and real-world environments.

• Project ∞ — for university students, taking questions deeper through research, investigation and critical thinking.

• Divergence — for corporates, challenging questions against organisational, commercial and systemic realities.

The Malaysia Bootcamp sits primarily within the GCC ecosystem, while creating outputs and questions that can potentially feed into these wider programmes.

The important principle is that the questions change hands.

The objective is not for every group to reach the same conclusion. Each community should take the questions further, challenge existing assumptions and contribute a different perspective.

The Ten Challenges - for the final EXPO

The Malaysia Bootcamp translates this larger philosophy into a practical experience through ten interconnected challenges.

1. Understanding Sustainability - ask others

Participants investigate what sustainability means from different perspectives — individuals, communities, businesses and other stakeholders — rather than being given a single predetermined definition.

2. Four T-Shirt connecting each day….

Participants translate sustainability concepts into visual communication, exploring how complex ideas can be expressed simply, creatively and memorably.

3. Activities & Games

Participants design activities and games that allow others to experience, explore or question sustainability concepts themselves.

4. Sustainable City Model 2040

Participants move beyond individual actions and begin thinking at the systems level by imagining what a sustainable city could look like. Can you imagine the potential?

5. Sustainability Podcast & Lessons Learnt

The podcast captures conversations, discoveries, disagreements and reflections throughout the programme, creating a record of how participants’ thinking develops.

6. Picturebooks

Experiences and insights from the Bootcamp are transformed into stories that can be shared with people beyond the immediate participants. More Manga!!! from Eriko -san .

7. Journals & Personal Documentation

Participants document their individual journeys, capturing observations, experiences, emotions, questions and changes in perspective - Lets share sustainable habits that we are building in.

8. Psychology of the Bootcamp ( connecting families)

The podcasts, lessons learned and personal journals become material for understanding how participants’ thinking changes through the experience.

This creates an opportunity to examine not only what participants learned, but how the experience changed the way they think.

9. Financial Recon - understanding the real value and essential costs.

Participants investigate sustainability through an economic lens, exploring business models, costs, financial incentives, trade-offs and the realities behind sustainable decisions.

10. Gallery Upgrades

The accumulated work is brought together in a physical and visual space where the journey, discoveries and outputs can be presented to others.

The Challenges Form One Chain

The ten challenges should not be treated as ten independent assignments.

They are designed to form a connected knowledge chain.

Experiences generate conversations.

Conversations generate reflections and questions.

Reflections become podcasts, lessons and stories.

Journals capture the personal dimension of the journey.

Together, these materials contribute to the Psychology of the Bootcamp.

Financial Reconnaissance introduces an additional economic perspective.

The Gallery brings the accumulated journey together and makes the learning visible.

The objective is therefore not simply to produce ten deliverables.

The objective is to capture the evolution of thinking throughout the experience.

The Ambassador Training Kit

To make the programme transferable, a Training Kit will be developed for the Ambassadors.

The kit will provide the philosophy, frameworks, tools and facilitation guidance required to run the challenges while maintaining the core principles of the programme.

However, the Training Kit should not become a static instruction manual.

It should be treated as a living document.

As new groups participate, they will generate new insights, examples, activities, questions and lessons. These can be fed back into the Training Kit and used to improve future iterations.

In this way, the kit becomes part of the wider learning system:

Experience → Learning → Upgrade → Next Experience

Over time, it can become an accumulating body of knowledge that allows the programme to improve as it expands into new communities and environments.

Potential Malaysian Partners

The same framework can also form the basis of a proposition for potential Malaysian partners. The closest partner we are working is based in Ipoh - Sylvia Wong Academy where building the local students become a crucial step forward. The plan was to see how it goes and reach out to maximum people keeping in mind the needs of the society around them and some of the limitations.

There are also other forms collaboration where Companies and organisations can contribute through:

• facilities

• technology

• community connections

• sustainability projects

• real-world challenges

• business knowledge

• data and resources

The ten challenges provide natural entry points for collaboration.

This creates a stronger relationship between the Bootcamp and the Malaysian ecosystem: partners become part of the questions and experiences, rather than simply sponsors of the programme.

Eriko-san as a Connector

Within this broader ecosystem, Eriko-san can play an important connecting role between the individual outputs and the larger narrative.

The city storybooks provide only one example.

Each city can develop its own story based on local experiences, community perspectives and stories from older generations. These stories can then be transformed into digital formats and consolidated under Eriko-san’s guidance.

The same principle can be applied to the wider Bootcamp outputs.

The objective is to avoid ending the programme with ten disconnected products.

Instead, the outputs should contribute to one coherent narrative:

Eriko-san can help connect these pieces and ensure that the programme produces a story that extends beyond the individual challenges.

Her role also includes supporting design direction, working with the relevant team members to ensure that the programme can be communicated clearly and consistently to participants, parents and potential partners.

Singapore and the Wider Ecosystem

One important clarification from the discussion is that Singapore will not form part of the physical Malaysia travel route.

Adding another country would introduce additional logistical complexity and reduce the time available for the Malaysian experience.

The physical route therefore remains:

Kuala Lumpur → Ipoh → Malacca

However, this does not mean that Singapore is excluded from the wider ecosystem.

Members in Singapore can continue to contribute through its participants, stories, experiences, questions and lessons learned.

This distinction is important because the wider FD model does not require every community to follow the same physical journey.

A group in Singapore may experience something completely different from a group in Malaysia. Those differences are not a problem to be eliminated — they are valuable sources of divergence and learning.

The physical journey may remain Malaysian, while the intellectual journey remains connected across cities and communities.

This allows the Malaysia Bootcamp to remain focused and logistically manageable while still contributing to the much larger vision of an interconnected learning ecosystem.

Possible schedule and shared costs - excluding 50 SGD Report and flight costs . These costs are not finalised. We are still in the initial stages of discussion - but this is what we can expect on a sharing and on budget levels. The local currency conversion for the report will be adjusted accordingly. Resourcefulness is about making the most of what is already available rather than waiting for perfect conditions or additional resources. It is the ability to recognize the potential of existing knowledge, skills, materials, relationships, technology, and environments, and creatively combine or adapt them to create useful solutions. However, this definition can seem abstract because many people assume that solving a problem requires finding something new. This assumption should be tested and challenged by re-examining how solutions can be created from what we already have.

A deeper definition would be: Making more possible with what you already have.

Through practical challenges, creative activities, discussions, and problem-solving exercises, ambassadors learn to look at available resources from different perspectives. They practice identifying what they already have, discovering alternative uses, combining different resources, adapting existing ideas, and finding creative ways to overcome limitations. Instead of waiting for better conditions or more resources, they develop the habit of asking: What can I do with what I have right now?

As they reflect on these experiences, ambassadors develop stronger creativity, adaptability, problem-solving, initiative, and practical thinking. They learn that resources are rarely limited to money or materials—they can include time, knowledge, skills, people, technology, opportunities, and even constraints. By connecting existing resources in new ways, they become more capable of turning limitations into possibilities and ideas into action.

By sharing experiences and learning from one another, ambassadors become more creative problem-solvers, adaptable collaborators, and impactful Global Citizens who understand that meaningful solutions do not always require more resources—they often require seeing greater value in the resources already available. Resourcefulness becomes not only a skill of using what we have, but a mindset of creating possibilities, adapting to constraints, and making the most of every opportunity and resource within reach.A.Real-Life Example: Sara Blakely – The Power of Resourcefulness

The best example of how being resourceful can make someone successful in business is Sara Blakely, the founder of the company Spanx.

Before becoming a millionaire, Sara was selling fax machines door-to-door. She was not educated in fashion design or anything else, did not have a business degree, and did not have a lot of money. Once, while Sara was preparing for a party, she tried to make her white trousers look smoother. Not being able to find any garment to do that, she decided to take pantyhose and cut their feet off.

Instead of stopping there and doing nothing due to her lack of experience in the matter, Sara took advantage of the resources she possessed. She studied different clothing manufacturing companies, patented the invention by herself, created the product samples and convinced manufacturers to implement her idea into production without the help of a large team and expensive advertising campaigns.

As a result, the product Sara invented turned into a company Spanx worth billions of dollars. This story proves that being resourceful means taking advantage of the resources one already has.

IIn the previous chapter, we explored Sensing Opportunities—learning to notice small changes, unexpected problems, emerging needs, and possibilities that others might overlook. But recognizing an opportunity is only the beginning. The next question is: What can we do with what we already have?

This chapter is about Resourcefulness.

Resourcefulness is the ability to make the most of the resources available to us. Resources are not limited to money or materials. They can include our knowledge, skills, relationships, time, technology, environment, and even limitations. Sometimes, the most valuable solution comes not from finding something new, but from seeing new possibilities in what is already around us.

During the session, MIHF explained that resourceful people don’t wait for perfect conditions before taking action. They combine, adapt, reuse, and transform existing resources to solve problems and bring ideas to life. A limitation can become a creative constraint. An unused object can become a useful tool. Knowledge from one situation can be applied to another.

Being resourceful means asking different questions: What do I already have? What can I combine? What can I adapt? What can I reuse? What can I create from what is available?

Just as sensing opportunities helps us notice possibilities, resourcefulness helps us turn those possibilities into action.

The future belongs not only to those who recognize opportunities, but also to those who know how to make the most of what they already have.

D. Sessions Summary

The session began with JFP leading a breathing exercise. Participants were asked to take a deep breath and release it, creating a short activity intended to help them become more focused and present. After the exercise, JFP asked Sekar how she felt about the breathing exercise. Sekar responded by describing how the exercise helped her feel clearer and more attentive. She explained that having a clearer mind helped her observe people and her surroundings more carefully, notice small details and patterns, and recognize opportunities that she might previously have overlooked. She also recommended practicing the breathing exercise regularly before observation activities or important discussions because it could improve focus.

During this exchange, DAV79 stepped in to clarify the question. DAV79 pointed out that JFP had specifically asked Sekar how she felt after doing the breathing exercise, rather than asking about sensing opportunities. DAV79 then instructed JFP to thank Sekar and ask the same question to another participant. JFP followed the instruction and shifted the question to Halima, asking how she was doing. This demonstrated the expected questioning and interaction format.

The meeting later moved to resourcefulness and the challenges for the coming week. DAV79 explained that participants would continue working on resourcefulness and should use the next week to develop new or improved challenges. Mike-Nguyen Huu Manh was asked to read the challenges. Mike initially questioned what he needed to do because the group had already completed challenges that day. DAV79 clarified that Mike should explain the challenges already prepared and then work on new challenges for the following week, rather than simply repeating what had already been completed.

Mike then explained the paper-towel challenge. The activity involved three teams, with each team receiving five cups and six sheets of paper. Participants had to use the paper creatively—by folding, rolling, or tearing it—to create the tallest structure, without tape or glue. The challenge was designed to encourage creativity and resourcefulness when working with limited materials.

Putu Buderiasa also participated and asked what resourcefulness meant. DAV79 explained that being resourceful means being able to achieve something even when you do not have everything you need, using the example of making a campfire with limited resources.

• Jimmy reflected on the broader purpose of the Global Citizens EXPO, emphasizing that it is a growing ecosystem rather than simply a weekly meeting. He highlighted the reflection-action cycle: learning during the weekly EXPO, testing those lessons through regional initiatives, and bringing real-world experiences back for reflection and calibration. He also praised the structured EXPO model, accountability deadlines, journal reflections, and 360-degree peer feedback as mechanisms that allow Ambassadors to experiment, make mistakes, and develop leadership skills while contributing to wider community transformation.

• Unregistered user - 84j9tzf9ny praised the group’s effort during the resourcefulness session. Their main point was that everyone contributed and took responsibility, even though not everyone performed perfectly. The emphasis was on effort, responsibility, and collective contribution.

• Jacob gave the most detailed reflection. He felt the resourcefulness session was better than the previous week because the activities were more challenging and exciting. He described the paper-tower challenge, where teams had to build a tower from paper and cups that could remain standing for 10 seconds despite conditions such as fan-generated wind and table shaking. He said this taught creativity, adaptability, problem-solving, and teamwork. He also described the cup transport challenge, which required teams to move a cup containing a ball without dropping it. This reinforced teamwork, communication, patience, and creative problem-solving. Jacob concluded positively, calling it “a very good Saturday.”

Toward the end, DAV79 discussed preparation for negotiation. Alwe asked whether a shorter activity was acceptable and later asked what format should be used for the negotiation questions. DAV79 said the material could be prepared in Canva or Word, and offered help from Mike , JFP or Hali. Alwe was also encouraged to develop his own ideas and use the group chat to get feedback and improve them.

Meanwhile, Jimmy, Luna , Ngoc Diep , Sekar , Haali had made commitments to join in on the program to improve the New 2027 Gallery. Let’s see how they perform…. a promise was made to the contributors - we would put their names on the Gallery.

A. Overview

The Quarterly Bootcamps provide Ambassadors with an opportunity to demonstrate their mindset evolution, capability development, and leadership growth through real-world application.

The Weekly EXPOs serve as the Ambassadors’ training grounds—a space to practise, refine, challenge, and receive feedback on the skills and mindsets they are developing.

The Regional Weekly Initiatives, led by the Global Citizen Clubs (GCCs), take this learning beyond the EXPO. Ambassadors apply what they have learned within their local context and cohort, testing their understanding through real action, adapting to challenges, and strengthening their capabilities.

The experiences and outcomes from these initiatives are then brought back into the next EXPO. Ambassadors reflect on what happened, share their learning, learn from other regions, and use feedback to improve their next cycle of action.

The Quarterly Bootcamp is the culmination of this continuous development cycle. It provides a platform for Ambassadors to demonstrate their mindset evolution, capabilities, leadership, and real-world impact to an international community.

B. Roles

Participants & Roles

The programme follows a clear progression from regional participation → Ambassador training → session leadership → Bootcamp leadership. Each role contributes to the development cycle.

1. Participants

Members of local cohorts who take part in Regional Initiatives organised by the GCC.

Role: Participate, contribute, and engage in local initiatives.

2. Ambassadors

Members who receive structured training through the Weekly EXPOs and apply their learning through Regional Initiatives.

Role: Learn → Apply → Reflect → Grow.

3. Session Leaders

Ambassadors responsible for preparing and hosting the Weekly EXPO.

Role: Prepare, facilitate, and take ownership of the weekly session.

4. Sub-Leads

Leaders responsible for guiding their respective cohorts during Regional Initiatives, where applicable.

They coordinate participation, ensure members complete assigned activities and submissions, and support the application of EXPO learning.

Role: Lead the cohort and ensure local execution.

5. Bootcamp Commanders

Ambassadors selected to lead and coordinate the Quarterly Bootcamps.

Role: Lead the Bootcamp and demonstrate advanced leadership capabilities.

6. GCC Leads & Co-Leads

Regional leaders responsible for organising and overseeing Regional Initiatives, monitoring progress, and maintaining quality across cohorts.

Role: Lead the regional ecosystem and connect local action with the EXPO.

7. Mentors

Support the learning and development of Ambassadors through facilitation, coaching, and feedback.

3. The Development Cycle

1. EXPO Preparation & Submission

Each EXPO begins with the preparation and submission of the weekly programme by the designated Session Leader.

The Session Leader may:

• Collaborate with another Ambassador, dividing responsibilities between story development and challenge creation;

  or

• Take full responsibility for developing the session independently.

The Session Leader is responsible for ensuring that the complete session package is prepared, uploaded, and ready for review.

Submission Deadline

All weekly session materials must be uploaded to the designated content area by:

Thursday, 8:00 PM Singapore Time

The submission should contain all materials required to facilitate the session, including the story, challenges, discussion questions, engagement activities, and any supporting resources.

2. Quality Review & Finalisation

Submitted materials will be reviewed by the designated reviewers: JFP, Mike, Jacob, Luna, Halli, Sekar or Ale - this list could change depending on the Ambassadors with the higher score.

The purpose of the review is to ensure that each EXPO session meets the expected standards for:

• Content quality

• Relevance to the weekly theme

• Quality of questions and challenges

• Participant engagement

• Clarity of instructions

• Alignment with the overall Ambassador development journey

Any concerns, quality issues, or deviations from the expected standards should be raised in the Global Citizens Telegram group.

Where additional support is required, the matter should be escalated to SAHN by Friday evening 8 PM Singapore Time. JFP will then complete the final review and publish the materials.

Accountability

Quality is a shared responsibility, but the Session Leader remains accountable for the overall quality of the session.

If the content, questions, activities, or discussion do not meet the expected standard, this will be reflected in the session evaluation.

The same principle applies to the content-loading process. If the designated content loader has not received complete and quality-assured materials by the deadline, they should immediately raise the issue in the Global Citizens Telegram group rather than allowing the delay to continue.

Questions, uncertainties, and new ideas that emerge during preparation should be brought into the weekly coordination session so that the team can align, solve problems collectively, and continuously improve the EXPO.

3. EXPO Session Structure

Each EXPO is facilitated through a four-stage learning cycle designed to connect reflection, preparation, practice, and assessment. You can read more on the link belwo

01 — Discovery

Ambassadors begin by reflecting on their experiences from the previous week.

They share what happened when they delivered the previous session within their respective cohorts, including:

• What worked

• What did not work

• Challenges encountered

• Lessons learned

• Evidence of participant engagement

• Opportunities for improvement

The cohort dashboard and key performance indicators are also reviewed to connect individual experiences with measurable progress.

02 — New Theme & Detailed Plan

The mentor introduces the new weekly theme, including:

• Learning objectives

• Key concepts

• Expected mindsets and capabilities

• Story or context

• Implementation approach

• Regional initiative for the coming week

Ambassadors leave this stage with a clear understanding of what they are learning, why it matters, and how they will apply it.

03 — Role Play

Ambassadors practise the new concepts through role play and simulation.

This allows them to test how they will communicate, facilitate, respond to challenges, and apply the week’s concepts before taking them into their own cohorts.

The EXPO therefore becomes a safe environment to practise before entering the real-world environment.

04 — Quiz & Knowledge Check

The session concludes with discussion questions and a knowledge check designed to reinforce the week’s learning and assess understanding.

The Session Leader consolidates the questions, facilitates the final discussion, and summarises the key learning points.

4. From EXPO to Regional Action

The EXPO does not end when the session ends.

Following each EXPO, Ambassadors return to their respective regions and put the learning into practice.

Each member is expected to complete the initiative assigned to their region and document their experience.

This is where the EXPO learning is tested against reality.

Learn → Apply → Experience → Reflect → Improve

All challenge submissions must be uploaded to Padlet so they can be reviewed, evaluated, and shared across regions. All members are also required to complete the “How Do You Feel?” submission as part of their attendance, reflection, and journal process.

The Sub-Leads of each respective cohort if identified are responsible for ensuring that all members complete these requirements during the Regional Initiatives and that submissions are completed accurately and on time.

5. Post-EXPO Requirements

Within 24 hours after the EXPO, the Session Leader must submit a session summary.

The mentor will then provide an evaluation and feedback report.

All relevant documentation, including session summaries and evaluations, must be uploaded to Substack by Sunday night.

In addition, all members are expected to contribute comments and reflections to the relevant Substack article by:

6. 360° Evaluation & Continuous Feedback

The EXPO development cycle is supported by continuous evaluation rather than a single end-point assessment.

The Global Citizen Club Leads monitor the quality and development of weekly sessions through multiple sources of evidence, including:

Ambassadors’ journals are reviewed for the quality of reflection, depth of learning, and evidence of mindset development.

Peer evaluation is also incorporated through a 360° feedback process, allowing Ambassadors to learn not only from mentors but also from their peers.

Regional Challenges

Challenge submissions are evaluated by multiple levels of leadership, including:

• Bootcamp Commanders

• Sub-Leads of smaller cohorts

• GCC Leads and Co-Leads

Evaluators provide comments and feedback to help Ambassadors understand both their strengths and areas for development.

Cross-Regional Feedback

Ambassadors from other regions also participate in the feedback process by reviewing, commenting on, and engaging with challenge submissions.

8. Monthly GCC Review & Mindset Calibration

Every month, the Global Citizen Club (GCC) comes together to review the macro-level behavioural and mindset changes emerging across the Ambassador community.

The monthly review provides an opportunity to:

• Identify significant behavioural and mindset shifts.

• Review progress against the expected development outcomes.

• Identify recurring gaps, challenges, or areas requiring deeper attention.

• Share observations and evidence across regions.

• Calibrate expectations and evaluation standards across GCCs.

• Determine any necessary upgrades or adjustments to the training, initiatives, and EXPO process.

This creates a higher-level feedback loop, ensuring that insights gathered from weekly EXPOs, regional initiatives, journals, challenges, and 360° feedback are not only used to evaluate individual Ambassadors, but also to continuously improve the overall development system.

The Global Citizen Program @ the Learning Space is designed as a continuous development ecosystem, connecting structured training with real-world action, reflection, feedback, and leadership opportunities.

Through this cycle, Ambassadors do not simply learn—they practise, apply, receive feedback, adapt, and grow. The Regional Initiatives provide the testing ground, the EXPO provides the space to calibrate, and the Quarterly Bootcamp provides the platform to demonstrate that growth.

A. The Blueprint: HONDAS JOURNEY OF OPPORTUNITY

Amid the dusty streets of a small Japanese town, a young mechanic noticed something others ignored. People often complained that bicycles were difficult to repair, expensive to maintain, and unreliable on rough roads. Most saw these complaints as everyday inconveniences. Soichiro Honda saw an opportunity.

While others focused on fixing broken bicycles one at a time, Honda imagined something different. He wondered if a small engine could be attached to a bicycle, making transportation faster, more affordable, and accessible to ordinary people. At a time when few believed such an idea would succeed, he experimented with leftover engines, tested countless designs, and kept improving them after every failure.

To create this opportunity, he did not wait for perfect conditions. He observed changing needs, recognized that people wanted simple and affordable transportation, and acted before the demand became obvious. His curiosity led him to develop motorized bicycles, which eventually evolved into motorcycles and later automobiles.

As cities grew and transportation needs changed, Honda continued sensing new opportunities. The company expanded from motorcycles to cars, marine engines, robotics, and sustainable mobility solutions. Each step came not from reacting to the present, but from recognizing where the world was heading and preparing for it.

The journey was never just about building vehicles. It was about seeing possibilities where others saw limitations. By paying attention to people’s everyday challenges and imagining what could be better, Honda transformed a small workshop into one of the world’s leading engineering companies.

Mike Nguyen Huu Manh

Mike demonstrated the strongest understanding in the cohort.

He explained that “Sensing Opportunities” means being curious enough to notice details that others ignore, allowing hidden opportunities to emerge.

He also described his Optimal Design activity, where children redesigned future cities. He shared observations about his group’s strongest contributor and thoughtfully evaluated both strengths and weaknesses of the proposed city designs.

Later, Mike proposed a creative activity:

• Hide toys around the venue.

• Let children search for them.

• Use the game to teach observation and opportunity recognition.

The facilitator praised this idea as highly engaging.

Jacob reflected on lessons from running the previous week’s activities.

Instead of conducting challenges, he simply gathered written summaries.

• complete the actual activities,

Luna

Luna admitted she had not completed any challenges.

She received repeated reminders about:

• accountability,

• attention during meetings,

• completing 15 journals before the deadline.

The facilitator warned that continued neglect would seriously reduce her ambassador score.

Halima

Halima had successfully gathered several friends to read the material but had not completed challenge-based journals.

She asked practical questions about:

• how journals should be written,

• whether Bahasa was acceptable.

She then brainstormed ideas for next week’s activities involving classmates and was encouraged to create a short video documenting the experience.

Sekar

Sekar struggled to follow the English discussion. She had to explain this to the Bali team and get them on board. It was critical. She had lots to do.

Halima translated key concepts into Bahasa.

The facilitator emphasized that teammates should support one another outside the meeting so everyone understands the weekly challenge.

D. Sessions Summary – 1 August 2026

The EXPO session centered on one important message: learning is measured by action, reflection, and leadership—not by simply reading or attending meetings. As ambassadors prepare for the upcoming theme, “Sensing Opportunities,” the discussion focused on reviewing progress from previous challenges, improving the quality of reflective journals, and designing engaging activities that help younger participants develop a mindset of curiosity.

The meeting began with attendance and technical preparations before quickly moving into a review of each ambassador’s weekly progress. Participants were reminded that reading the weekly Substack articles alone is not enough. Every ambassador is expected to complete the assigned challenges with their teams, facilitate meaningful discussions, and submit reflective journals that capture what was learned through experience. These journals, together with comments on Substack, form an important part of each ambassador’s performance evaluation.

Among the participants, Mike Nguyen Huu Manh demonstrated a strong understanding of the week’s theme. He explained that sensing opportunities begins with curiosity—the ability to notice details that most people overlook. While many people walk past countless possibilities every day, those who observe carefully are more likely to discover valuable opportunities hidden in ordinary situations. Mike also reflected on his group’s previous Optimal Design activity, where participants redesigned future cities. He shared how his team evaluated different ideas and discussed why some designs were more practical than others.

Building on this concept, Mike proposed an engaging activity for the coming week. He suggested hiding inexpensive toys around the activity area and asking children to search for them. The exercise would encourage participants to pay closer attention to their surroundings and demonstrate how opportunities often reward careful observation rather than luck. The facilitator praised this idea for combining physical activity with the learning objective.

Jacob (Đinh Thế Cường) also shared valuable reflections from leading his own group. He observed that smaller groups often worked more efficiently because there were fewer distractions and greater participation. He suggested introducing a wider variety of activities, including physical games, to keep younger children engaged instead of relying only on drawing exercises. Most importantly, Jacob described Optimal Design as planning beyond the present by anticipating future changes and creating flexible solutions that can adapt as circumstances evolve. His thoughtful explanation earned positive feedback and encouragement to continue asking deeper questions through weekly Substack discussions.

Not every participant had kept pace with the programme. JFP admitted that while journals had been collected, the actual challenge activities had not been completed as intended. The facilitator clarified that summaries alone were insufficient; journals must be based on real participation in the weekly challenges. JFP was asked to repeat the activities with his team and resubmit higher-quality reflections.

Similarly, Luna acknowledged that she had not completed her assigned challenges. She received firm reminders about the importance of consistency, accountability, and completing all outstanding journals before the following session. The facilitator stressed that leadership requires commitment and that repeated failure to complete assignments would affect overall ambassador performance.

Halima shared that she had gathered several friends to read the weekly article together but had not yet guided them through the challenge activities. She asked practical questions about how journals should be written and whether they could be completed in Bahasa. She was reassured that ideas matter more than language and was encouraged to lead challenge-based discussions before documenting her team’s reflections. Later in the session, Halima brainstormed ideas for helping classmates identify opportunities within their own school environment and was encouraged to document the activity through short videos where appropriate.

Sekar experienced some difficulty following parts of the English discussion. Halima stepped in to explain the concepts in Bahasa, highlighting the collaborative spirit expected among ambassadors. The facilitator reminded everyone that stronger members should actively support teammates outside the weekly sessions so that no one falls behind.

Throughout the discussion, one message remained consistent: true learning happens when knowledge is transformed into action. Reading builds awareness, but challenges build experience, journals deepen reflection, and leadership grows by helping others learn. As the ambassadors prepare for the upcoming Sensing Opportunities activities, they were encouraged to design creative, engaging experiences that inspire curiosity while remaining focused on the deeper mindset each challenge is intended to develop.

Only hours before members from Singapore, Hanoi, Bali and Yogyakarta gathered for the GCC planning meeting, an important conversation had already begun.

A potential education partner from Australia, Drake, had been exploring the possibility of introducing TEAM FD’s Mindset Report into his own education offerings. Having reviewed the report, he recognised its potential and believed it could become a valuable product for his organisation.

He messaged DAV79 before boarding his flight back to Australia.

Drake:
“I am flying back Australia today. This evening, I will send you a detailed description of the Mindset Report as a ready-to-sell, worthwhile investment product from my team’s perspective.”

However, Drake also raised what he described as a non-negotiable condition.

Drake:
“There is one deal breaker I would like to mention first. My team must have the autonomy to set the price for our customers, not SGD50. Because we will incorporate the report into our product to make it more competitive. If that autonomy is not granted, we cannot join this deal.”

The proposal immediately shifted the discussion away from pricing and towards something far more fundamental.

Rather than responding with a commercial negotiation, DAV79 focused on the principles that had guided the development of the Mindset Report from the beginning.

DAV79:
“My response has always been that we need to build a sustainable model, but sustainability should not be driven purely by commercial objectives.”

He explained that if the report became part of another organisation’s products, there had to be complete transparency.

Questions needed answering.

• What additional value was the partner actually contributing?

• Why would customers be paying more?

• Would the higher price genuinely reflect new value, or simply higher margins?

The discussion then moved beyond pricing into governance.

DAV79 emphasised that the Mindset Report contained highly sensitive developmental information about children. Before any partnership could move forward, the team needed complete clarity over where the data would reside, who would have access to it, how it would be protected, and whether it would eventually become embedded within third-party systems.

For him, these were not technical details—they were matters of trust.

He concluded with a reminder that became one of the defining themes of the day’s discussions.

DAV79:
“Ultimately, the objective should be to create value for everyone involved—participants, partners and the broader ecosystem—while maintaining trust, transparency and ethical standards. We should be careful not to allow this to evolve into another education business model where commercial interests outweigh the purpose and integrity of the work.”

Before ending the exchange, DAV79 informed Drake that the discussion would not be made in isolation.

Members from several GCC regions, together with representatives involved in the UN initiative, would be joining a regional Zoom meeting later in the week to examine the proposal collectively.

Drake acknowledged the concerns.

Drake:
“Got it. Your concerns are reasonable and I will provide you a brief description of how the report will be incorporated and how data will be used.”

He ended with a short message that echoed the principle DAV79 had emphasised throughout the conversation.

Drake:
“Purpose remains key. Copy that!!”

Not long after this exchange, another member of the wider team contributed a thoughtful reflection that would shape the discussion during the GCC meeting itself.

Rather than debating pricing or commercial structures, the member suggested that the team first answer a more fundamental question:

What exactly is the Mindset Report?

Was it primarily:

• a diagnostic assessment,

• a coaching tool,

• a communication tool for parents,

• a developmental roadmap,

• a predictive model,

• or a learning analytics platform?

While acknowledging that the report might eventually encompass all of these roles, the member argued that identifying its primary purpose would make every future discussion—whether about partnerships, governance or commercialisation—far more effective.

The reflection continued by distinguishing between features and value.

The report already possessed compelling features: developmental trajectories, strength-and-shadow dynamics, transformation pathways and observations collected from multiple sources. Yet these features alone did not explain why someone should invest in the report instead of another educational assessment.

The member proposed that its real value lay elsewhere: helping parents and educators make better developmental decisions by revealing patterns that ordinary observation often misses, while accelerating understanding of how a child thinks, learns and grows.

The conclusion aligned closely with DAV79’s earlier response to Drake.

Before discussing commercial models, partnerships or pricing, the team first needed complete clarity about three fundamental questions:

• What problem does the Mindset Report solve?

• Who is it designed to serve?

• What unique outcomes does it enable that no other assessment currently provides?

Only by answering those questions first could the team ensure that future growth remained faithful to its founding principle:

Purpose before profit.

Before You Sell the Product, Define Its Purpose

Protecting the Ecosystem

DAV79 opened the 27th Jul discussion by sharing a recent conversation with a potential partner who wanted to sell TEAM FD’s Mindset Reports.

Instead of immediately discussing pricing, he raised a more fundamental concern.

“This is our program. If you sell it, you sell it on our terms.”

LIN91 immediately explored the implications.

“So they have to take our program, right?”

“Yes,” DAV79 replied.

He explained that the report could not simply be detached from the Global Citizen ecosystem. The report was built upon bootcamps, weekly challenges, observations, journals and long-term participation. Without that ecosystem, the report would lose much of its value.

The discussion quickly shifted towards ownership.

“What value are they actually adding?” DAV79 asked.

Until that question could be answered clearly, there was little reason to hand over access to the program or its underlying methodology. Data governance and research integrity would remain non-negotiable.

More Than Just a Report

After T joined the meeting, DAV79 provided an update on the Hanoi Bootcamp.

The latest bootcamp had been delivered efficiently while maintaining strong participation across multiple countries. Participants were now completing weekly sustainability initiatives, uploading journals, photographs and reflections into the GCC system. These activities were becoming the raw material from which the Mindset Reports were generated.

Turning to T, DAV79 explained,

“Every week they discuss one chapter. They complete challenges, submit journals, upload pictures and reflections. Our job is to evaluate everything.”

LIN91 added that each week she compiled summaries from these submissions before integrating them into the reporting process.

Rather than producing a one-off assessment, the team was building an evolving picture of each participant’s thinking over time.

A Bigger Question Emerges

The conversation then shifted after DAV79 shared reflections from Zac, who had recently reviewed the Mindset Report.

Zac, after reviewing the earlier internal discussions suggested that before discussing commercial models, the team should first answer a much more important question:

What exactly is the Mindset Report?

Was it:

• a diagnostic assessment?

• a coaching tool?

• an educational analytics platform?

• a parent development guide?

He argued that defining its primary purpose would naturally strengthen future discussions on pricing, positioning and partnerships.

DAV79 agreed.

Rather than focusing immediately on commercial value, the team needed to become absolutely clear about the transformation the report was designed to create.

LIN91 Introduces Three Perspectives

LIN91 responded by presenting a framework she had been developing.

Interestingly, she did not begin with the problem the report solves.

Instead, she explained that many parents do not yet realise they need such a report.

“There isn’t really a demand for this today,” she observed.

Instead of selling a problem people could not yet recognise, she proposed explaining the report through three progressively deeper layers.

1. Benefits

The first conversation should focus on outcomes.

The report helps parents understand:

• how children think,

• how they interpret the world,

• how they make decisions,

• how they assign value,

• and how those thinking patterns influence future development.

Benefits are virtually limitless because they depend on how the information is applied.

2. Features

Only after people understand the benefits should the report’s contents be introduced.

These include:

• mindset strengths,

• shadow tendencies,

• developmental trajectories,

• 360-degree observations,

• multiple data sources,

• framework-based evaluations,

• progressive analysis across multiple reports.

LIN91 also explained that as more data accumulates, the reports mature.

Early reports provide descriptive and prescriptive insights.

Participants who remain in the program for many months begin reaching cognitive-level analysis, allowing much deeper understanding of behavioural development.

3. Mechanism

Finally comes the methodology.

This layer explains:

• how observations become structured data,

• how behaviours are analysed,

• how multiple observers contribute,

• how research frameworks are applied,

• and how the final report is generated.

Unlike benefits, the mechanism represents TEAM FD’s intellectual property and research capability.

It therefore remains the most protected layer of the system.

Benefits Before Features

DAV79 agreed with the proposed structure.

People, he argued, are not yet ready to appreciate sophisticated analytical models.

Instead, they first need to understand why the report matters.

“The need doesn’t exist in people’s minds yet,” he observed.

As society changes and parents increasingly struggle to understand how children learn and make decisions, the value of such reports will become much more apparent.

Only after that understanding develops should conversations move towards technical capabilities.

Trong Challenges the Team

Later in the discussion, Trong, GCC Co-Lead for Hanoi, asked a deceptively simple question.

“If parents receive this report... what is the purpose of the report?”

Rather than treating the report as a static assessment, DAV79 explained that every report ends with actions.

Parents and participants are expected to implement those recommendations before the next reporting cycle.

The next report then evaluates whether those changes produced measurable improvement.

The report therefore functions less like a certificate and more like a continuous improvement system.

Each edition becomes another step in an ongoing developmental journey.

From the discussion, DAV79 reframed the value of the Mindset Report around three interconnected purposes, each serving a different stakeholder. Rather than presenting it as just another assessment, he explained that its value grows from the individual level to a much broader societal level.

1. The Parent–Child Bridge

DAV79 explained that the first purpose of the Mindset Report is to become a bridge between parents and their children.

Many parents observe behaviour but struggle to understand the thinking behind it. The report helps uncover:

• how a child thinks and makes decisions,

• how they assign value and priorities,

• how they respond to challenges,

• where their strengths naturally emerge,

• and where developmental support is needed.

Instead of simply describing behaviour, the report provides parents with practical recommendations and actions to take before the next reporting cycle. Each subsequent report then measures whether those interventions have resulted in meaningful change. In this way, the report becomes an ongoing conversation between parent and child rather than a one-off assessment.

2. A Decision-Making Tool for Institutions

The second purpose extends beyond families to schools and educational institutions.

DAV79 explained that schools often rely on academic performance or isolated observations to understand students. The Mindset Report offers a richer perspective by combining multiple observations over time to identify developmental patterns that are difficult to detect through conventional assessments.

For institutions, the report helps to:

• understand how students learn and collaborate,

• identify emerging strengths and developmental gaps,

• make better educational and pastoral decisions,

• personalise interventions,

• and monitor growth across multiple reporting periods.

Rather than replacing existing assessments, it complements them by providing insights into the mindset and behavioural dimensions that influence long-term development.

3. Preparing for the Future of Work

The third purpose is the most ambitious.

DAV79 explained that the Mindset Report is not designed solely for today’s educational needs. It is intended to contribute to the future of work by helping young people develop the thinking patterns and capabilities that future societies and workplaces will require. In the future - the selection of the job would depend on if members have the right fit of “ do i want to do” attitude rather than just “ do i know how to do” which is knowledge based. Today thats not easily measureable.

As the world changes rapidly through automation, artificial intelligence and new forms of collaboration, technical knowledge alone will become increasingly insufficient. Understanding how individuals think, solve problems, adapt, collaborate and make decisions will become equally important.

Viewed from this perspective, the Mindset Report is not simply measuring children—it is building a long-term developmental record that can help individuals, educators and organisations better understand human potential over time. The larger vision is to create a research-driven ecosystem that supports lifelong growth while contributing to broader discussions about education, employability and the capabilities needed for future generations.

Together, these three purposes illustrate the expanding scope of the Mindset Report:

1. For families: Strengthen bonds , understanding and communication between parents and children. This was the primary function. Thats where the GCC came in.

2. For institutions: Enable more informed educational and developmental decisions so the kids should show the nature of development and pursue tracks they loved.

3. For society: Build a long-term framework that prepares individuals for the evolving future of work while contributing to a broader ecosystem of human development - this was going to be the most critical part of the design - but not yet ready.

A Shift From Product to Purpose

Although the meeting began with discussions about pricing, partnerships and distribution, it ultimately arrived at a very different conclusion.

Selling the Mindset Report was never the immediate objective.

The real challenge was ensuring that everyone—including partners, schools and parents—understood its purpose before discussing commercial models.

By the end of the session, the team had reached broad alignment:

• Partnerships must strengthen, not dilute, the ecosystem.

• Benefits should always be communicated before features.

• The analytical methodology should remain protected.

• Every report should drive measurable action rather than simply describe behaviour.

• Commercial discussions should only follow once the value proposition has been clearly defined.

Rather than asking, “How do we sell this report?”, the meeting concluded with a more important question:

“How do we ensure people understand why it exists?”

Every week at the Expo, we walk away with a new lens to examine our own habits. This week, that lens was Optimal Design — and it forced me to rethink what it actually means to plan.

Optimal design: Building Better Solutions Through Thinking Beyond

Optimal Design is about creating solutions that achieve the best possible outcome by thinking beyond immediate needs. It considers not only what works today, but also how a design, system, or plan will perform in the future. However, this definition can seem theoretical because many people focus only on solving today’s problems. This assumption should be tested and challenged by re-examining the true purpose of design.

A deeper definition would be: Designing today so tomorrow requires less effort.

Through practical challenges, observation activities, discussions, and problem-solving exercises, ambassadors examine how they plan, organize, and make decisions before taking action. They learn to anticipate future needs, identify hidden problems, eliminate unnecessary rework, and create solutions that remain effective over time. By testing ideas, evaluating consequences, and refining their designs, they develop the ability to think several steps ahead rather than simply reacting to immediate situations.

As they reflect on these experiences, ambassadors develop greater foresight, systems thinking, creativity, and strategic decision-making. They learn that optimal design is not about creating the most complex or expensive solution, but about designing with purpose so that future challenges are minimized. A well-designed system reduces waste, prevents recurring problems, and continues to create value long after it is implemented.

By sharing experiences and learning from one another, ambassadors become more thoughtful innovators, effective collaborators, and impactful Global Citizens who understand that the best designs solve not only today’s problems but also anticipate tomorrow’s opportunities and challenges. Optimal Design becomes not only a design principle, but a mindset of thinking beyond, planning ahead, and creating solutions that endure.

A. The Blueprint: Beyond Tomorrow

Amidst the quiet marshlands of eastern Singapore, where waves met empty coast, few could imagine the gateway that would one day connect the world. Yet while others planned only for the present, the architects and planners of Singapore Changi Airport looked decades ahead. They knew that a nation could not wait until success arrived before preparing for it.

As the first blueprints spread across their tables in the 1970s, every decision carried the weight of tomorrow. There was no room for short-sighted thinking. Every runway, utility tunnel, road, and terminal site had to serve not only today’s travelers, but millions yet to come. They reserved vast areas of land for future expansion, built underground infrastructure with growth in mind, and designed each phase so the airport could expand without interrupting daily operations.

To build for the future, they did not need to predict every detail—they needed to think beyond the present. As Singapore grew into a global aviation hub, passenger numbers soared. Decades later, Terminal 2, Terminal 3, Terminal 4, and now Terminal 5 followed the original vision. The airport continued operating smoothly while expanding around itself, avoiding costly reconstruction and unnecessary disruption.

The plans had done more than build an airport—they had designed for generations. What once seemed like empty land became one of the world’s greatest airports, not because it was rebuilt again and again, but because it had been thoughtfully planned from the very beginning.

B. CHALLENGE CARDS

From Efficiency to Optimal Design

Last chapter was about Efficiency: using our time, energy, and resources wisely, and cutting out waste wherever we found it. Optimal Design takes that idea one step further. It’s not just about doing today’s task well — it’s about thinking many steps ahead so that today’s solution doesn’t become tomorrow’s problem.

DAV79 gave us two simple but sharp examples during the session:

Kyla is painting a picture, but she keeps erasing and redrawing the shapes because she thinks each new shape is better than the previous one. Instead of refining her work, she repeatedly replaces it with a different version, causing unnecessary repetition and slowing down the overall process. This is not an optimal design. Or the other example A road is built, but it is repeatedly dug up for repairs or to install new utilities shortly after construction. This constant reconstruction wastes time, increases costs, and disrupts traffic. This is not an optimal design.

Buildings modified endlessly. A structure keeps getting altered and patched because no long-term design existed from the start. Every “fix” creates a new limitation the next person has to work around.

Both examples share the same root cause: solving problems one at a time instead of designing with the final outcome in mind.

Alwe’s Question Changed Everything

The most important moment of the session, for me, wasn’t an answer — it was a question. Alwe asked something like:

“What if the plan always changes?”

It sounds like a simple objection, but it cut straight to the heart of why some people give up on planning altogether. If things never go the way we expect, why bother planning in detail?

DAV79’s response reframed the whole discussion. He agreed that plans rarely unfold exactly as expected — there will always be exceptions. But he made the distinction that changed how I think about this:

The goal of planning was never to eliminate change. It’s to minimize the number of surprises.

If we think through enough “what if” scenarios in advance, most situations are already anticipated. What’s left is a small number of genuine surprises — manageable, not overwhelming. That’s the actual test of optimal design: not whether the plan stays the same, but how quickly and smoothly we can adapt when it doesn’t.

Why This Matters for Us as Ambassadors

Poor planning wastes effort, resources, money, and momentum. A team without long-term thinking ends up rebuilding the same road, so to speak, over and over. But a team that designs with adaptability in mind can absorb changes without losing direction — everyone still moves toward the same objective, even when the path shifts.

That’s the standard I’m holding myself to for next week’s material: not a rigid, one-path plan, but a design that has already considered several ways things could go wrong — or go differently than expected.

What I’m Preparing Next

I’ve agreed to prepare a short story built around this concept for our next session, alongside revisiting the material and challenges from the earlier chapter on Inefficiency. The goal is to give ambassadors a story that makes the difference between short-term fixes and long-term design obvious within seconds — no ambiguity, no need to over-explain the moral.

If Optimal Design is measured by adaptability rather than by how perfectly the original plan survives contact with reality, then the real work this week is building a plan flexible enough to be tested — and strong enough to hold its direction anyway.

C. Participant Evaluation Summary

The evaluation focused primarily on ambassador execution, particularly whether participants had completed their Discovery responsibilities by engaging others, collecting journals, and demonstrating leadership. DAV79 repeatedly emphasised that ambassadors are measured by their ability to influence and develop others, not by simply completing individual tasks - but my remaining accountable. this was the training of self discipline as well.

This training became a practical test of the difference between commitment, excuses, avoidance and perseverance. It highlighted how ambassadors respond when faced with competing priorities and set the stage for the next role play, which would explore the principles of perseverance and resilience in greater depth.

D. Sessions Summary – 26 July 2026

The session was led by DAV79, who focused on strengthening ambassador accountability, introducing the new Expo structure, reviewing the previous week’s work on Efficiency, and preparing ambassadors for the new chapter on Optimal Design. The meeting also highlighted gaps in participation across different regional teams.

One notable observation was that Sekar, Dalem, and Bimbim from the Bali team were absent, and their participation was specifically missed as the session required every region to contribute consistently.

1. Opening and Attendance

DAV79 began by asking everyone to contact missing members before the training officially started. He instructed:

• Hali to contact the Jogja team.

• Mike to locate Jacob.

• JFP to notify the remaining members.

• Everyone was asked to take attendance snapshots and inform absent members that training had already begun.

The emphasis from the very beginning was that ambassadors are responsible not only for themselves but also for ensuring their regional teams attend.

2. Review of Last Week – “Efficiency”

DAV79 reminded everyone that the previous week’s topic was Efficiency.

Rather than immediately teaching the next chapter, he asked every ambassador:

• How many people did you work with?

• What journals did you collect?

• What did your participants learn?

• What discoveries did your team make?

The discussion quickly became a review of whether ambassadors had actually carried out their responsibilities.

3. JFP’s Discussion

DAV79 questioned JFP about his journal collection.

The conversation became direct.

DAV79 asked how many members JFP had worked with.

JFP admitted:

“I didn’t work any.”

DAV79 immediately explained that:

• ambassadors must work with five to six people

• journals cannot only be about themselves

• journals must come from other participants too including summary notes from the Ambassador.

• Leadership is measured by influence, not individual work

As a consequence:

• JFP received a negative evaluation.

• He was instructed to recover by producing:

  • 5 Efficiency journals from the week before

  • 5 Optimal Design journals from the current week

  • 10 journals in total for the following week - next Training Expo.

DAV79 warned there would be no excuses accepted.

4. Conversation with Hali

Since Hali had missed the previous session, DAV79 first confirmed whether she had read Chapter 29 (Efficiency).

Hali confirmed she had.

However, when asked whether she completed the journal challenge, she replied:

“No.”

DAV79 explained that simply reading material is insufficient.

An ambassador must:

• organise discussions,

• influence others,

• build a learning team,

• schedule meetings,

• make booking for the Zoom Slots at Team FD if it is an online or hybrid meeting,

5. Conversation with ELF001

ELF001 admitted that no journals had been completed.

DAV79 explained the journal system had already changed two weeks earlier.

He demonstrated examples from:

• Luna from the week before - though she missed this week.

showing everyone what completed journals looked like.

He informed the group that:

• GCC (Global Citizen Club) members would begin evaluating journals weekly.

• Every ambassador would now be assessed based on journal quality and participation.

6. New Expo Structure

One of the biggest parts of the meeting was introducing the permanent Expo structure.

DAV79 explained every weekly Expo now follows four stages:

1. Discovery

Participants present in 60 seconds

• journals

• discoveries from their schools

• lessons learnt

2. New Theme & New Plan

Introduction of the week’s chapter.

Participants practise applying the concepts through scenarios. This time they used a game to run through a small role play on how the program could be done locally by the members. This was not about the content - it was morea bout the variations in delivery and therefore the associated energy inside.

Questions generated from discussions become quizzes in following weeks.

DAV79 explained this cycle would repeat the last week of the month.

7. Jacob’s Leadership Review

DAV79 invited Jacob (Đinh Thế Cường) to explain what happened during Hanoi’s Efficiency sessions.

Jacob admitted the team mainly:

• read the article,

• learned vocabulary,

• discussed new words.

DAV79 challenged him.

Instead of simply reading articles, ambassadors must discover:

• deeper concepts,

• participant questions,

• behavioural observations,

• reflections.

Jacob admitted many younger participants relied heavily on leaders to explain unfamiliar words. And more importantly must articulate his dialogue and story.

DAV79 encouraged Jacob to develop more structured discussions rather than only vocabulary activities during the session. Why note gamify this?

8. Introduction of Learning Games

A vocabulary game developed by MIHF was introduced

The activity functions similarly to Hangman. It was demonstrated live using Jacob and Mike as examples.

The purpose was to:

• reinforce vocabulary,

• increase engagement,

• make learning competitive,

• improve efficiency through fun.

DAV79 suggested ambassadors organise these games during regional meetings before discussing the chapter.

9. Mike’s Participation

Mike participated actively during the demonstration.

DAV79 asked Mike to guess letters for the vocabulary game.

Although Mike struggled initially, DAV79 praised him after correctly identifying part of the answer. DAV79 was impressed with Mikes ability.

DAV79 used this as an example of how games encourage participation better than lectures.

10. Journal Review

Jacob had reviewed several participant journals.

The discussion included:

Jacob observed that David recognised mistakes made during activities and reflected on avoiding them in future.

DAV79 agreed but encouraged deeper reflections rather than superficial comments.

Jacob explained Tony realised:

• older participants could help younger members,

• teamwork improved understanding of difficult vocabulary.

DAV79 considered this a more meaningful observation.

Ben

Several participants commented that Ben talked a great deal during activities.

DAV79 redirected the discussion.

Rather than criticising personalities, ambassadors should ask:

• What did participants actually learn?

• What questions emerged?

• How did understanding improve?

11. Session Summaries

DAV79 assigned Jacob a new responsibility.

Instead of only uploading journals, Jacob must now produce:

• weekly session summaries - he can assign this to someone or simply do it himself through an interview and that must be loaded into to the comments on the sessions summary as well - based on pictures or videos taken. It must contain

  • discussion highlights - funny moments , aha moments etc.

  • five open questions,

  • participant discoveries.

  • the Leaders impression of the performance with - 3 + and 3 - for each participant using the 360.

These questions would later become future quizzes and even references for the 360.

12. Understanding Efficiency

Jacob asked:

“How can participants work more efficiently?”

DAV79 answered by outlining four essential components:

• Structure | Discipline | Monitoring | Feedback

He explained Singapore performs efficiently because it continuously monitors progress, uses micro-learning, and provides regular feedback rather than waiting until the end which instantly gives its audience an excitment.

DAV79 suggested ambassadors follow a consistent weekly rhythm:

2. Play vocabulary games.

3. Collect journals.

4. Meet physically or online.

5. Discuss discoveries.

Three days of Daily Discoveries, and what came back wasn’t just good feedback — it was proof. Proof that our ambassadors can hold a room. Proof that parents are paying attention and proud of what they see. Proof that kids are showing up wanting more, not counting down to the end.

That’s not a small thing. That’s a signal.

For a while, we ran a lot of doors under the Global Citizen Club ( GCC) Umbrella: A Story A Night, regional side-activities of GCC, The Expo — all running at once, all asking for a slice of everyone’s time and energy. That was the right call then. We were still finding out what worked.

Now we know. Mộc Châu told us. The chapters are ready. The engagement is real. The parents are in. It’s time to stop spreading ourselves thin and start going deep.

What’s changing — and why it’s exciting

ASAN is retiring, with immediate effect — not because it wasn’t valuable, but because it’s done its job. It showed us that story-driven, English-medium engagement works. That DNA doesn’t disappear; it moves home, into each region’s own local initiative, on whatever day fits that chapter’s rhythm. Local teams now own that energy directly, instead of it being managed centrally.

And Expo becomes what it was always meant to be: real training, for the ambassadors who’ve earned their seat and ready for more.

Going forward, Expo is for ambassadors-only. That’s not a wall — it’s a ladder. If you’re an ambassador, this is the moment your title starts meaning something bigger: real training, real depth, real investment in you. If you’re not an ambassador yet, the path just got clearer and more winnable than ever — show up in your local chapter, bring energy, get seen, get invited.

The new Expo rhythm

Every week, the Expo becomes an online training platform for all ambassadors from Vietnam, Singapore, India and Indonesia:

1. Discovery — we open by looking back, not forward. What did we learn last week? What surprised us? Journals come out, real stories get pulled and discussed.

2. New theme, real plan — a short story (100 words, sharp not sprawling) sparks the week’s theme. We mix regions to stretch each other’s thinking, then regroup at home to lock a concrete activity plan — uploaded that same day. No vague intentions. Real commitments.

3. Role play — a simulation that gets ambassadors actually ready, not just briefed.

4. Quiz — a quick gut-check that the depth landed.

Same four moves, every chapter, every week. What used to be everyone improvising their own version becomes one shared rhythm — and that consistency is what lets us move faster together.

Alongside Expo, two tracks are growing too:

• GCC local chapters— mindset work, English as the medium. The real win was never the language. It’s the thinking underneath it. Here the trained Ambassadors have their own ground and cohort to demonstrate their mindset & capabilities, and help empower and level up other participants

• Technomonk — for selected ambassadors only who’ve already proven themselves and want the next level: better games, sharper tools, and eventually building the very role-plays that train the next cohort..meaning “solve problems and tackle challenges through coding & programming”. This is where our most resilient ambassadors get to build, not just participate.

When the local chapters are the real story…

None of this works without what’s already happening on the ground. Local chapters are now the front door — where new members show up, get involved, and prove themselves through real participation, journals, and peer feedback. That’s where ambassadors get made. Mộc Châu just showed us that this front door is wide open and busy — parents showing up, kids re-engaging, chapters running with real momentum.

The last month of each quarter belongs to the bootcamp itself — the payoff for everything built in the months before it. Mộc Châu was that payoff, and it delivered.

What’s still ahead

We’re building this in the open. A few pieces are still being finalized — how new-member registration and the mindset report connect in a real time and systematic manner, how the next Technomonk phase takes shape and creates impact on local initiatives, how bootcamp reflections thread through the four-day framework. More on that soon. For now: the direction is set, and it’s the right one.

The bottom line

We’re not cutting back. We’re leveling up — because every chapter has shown that it is ready for greater ownership.

To everyone working towards becoming an Ambassador: your chapter is your stage, and people are watching. Mộc Châu and Jogja demonstrated what becomes possible when a chapter takes ownership, collaborates, and commits to a shared vision. The same opportunity now exists for every region — whether you are in Jogja, Bali, Hanoi, Singapore, or beyond. Bali and Singapore need a much better engagement - else it is wasted efforts in the region.

This is a Global Initiative. No region can be left behind.

That commitment from TEAM FD remains non-negotiable.

All strategic communication will be coordinated through the The Team FD Command Center to maintain consistency, professionalism, and the integrity of the programme. The long-term success of the initiative depends on creating a playground that is led by the Ambassadors themselves while keeping the system transparent enough to measure participation, collaboration, and outcomes across every chapter.

Every GCC Lead and Co-Lead is responsible for managing their chapter’s weekly initiatives.

It is important to recognise what this programme is—and what it is not.

This is a mindset development programme. It is not an English language programme, nor should it ever be reduced to one. Language may be a tool for communication, but it is never the objective. Confusing the two undermines the purpose of the programme itself. This is not strategic ambiguity; it is a clear distinction between developing communication skills and developing decision-making, systems thinking, collaboration, leadership, and resilience.

Weekly initiatives must be documented, shared, and accessible across all regions. This creates transparency, encourages cross-regional learning, promotes consistency, and prevents unnecessary bias or isolated decision-making.

TEAM FD will focus its direct involvement on the official Expo and Bootcamp programmes. The ongoing development of each regional community is the responsibility of its respective GCC leadership team. This ownership model ensures that every chapter develops its own leaders while remaining aligned with the global vision.

All official communication, announcements, and programme content will continue to be distributed exclusively through TEAM FD’s official communication channels.

Current GCC Progress

GCC Jogja

Jogja currently demonstrates the strongest regional maturity. Ambassador development has progressed steadily, with members showing increasing independence, stronger ownership, and more advanced mindset capabilities. The chapter is approaching a level where selected members may be ready to contribute to higher-level initiatives, including future Technomonk development.

GCC Hanoi

Hanoi continues to make encouraging progress, although the transition in mindset remains gradual. Many participants still approach the programme primarily as an English-speaking initiative. Continued guidance is required to reinforce that communication is only the medium; the real objective is developing thinking, decision-making, collaboration, and leadership.

GCC Bali

Bali has established a foundation, but the next phase will require more deliberate leadership from the GCC team. Greater consistency in weekly initiatives, stronger ambassador engagement, and clearer regional ownership will accelerate the chapter’s growth.

Singapore

Singapore remains in its formation stage. Rather than prioritising speed, the focus is on identifying the right candidates who embody the values, mindset, and commitment required to build a sustainable chapter from the ground up.

Every region is on a different part of the journey. That is expected.

What matters is that every chapter continues moving forward together under one global standard, one shared mission, and one commitment: to build better future citizens capable of making better decisions in an increasingly complex world together.

The presentation was led primarily by Jacob, with support from the student ambassadors, while Ngoc Diep and Minh translated between English and Vietnamese. Throughout the preparation, the facilitators coached the ambassadors to stand confidently, speak loudly, maintain eye contact, and engage the audience—reinforcing that the presentation itself was another leadership exercise.

1. Welcome and Purpose

Jacob opened by welcoming the parents and explaining that the session was not simply about showing photographs or celebrating achievements. Instead, it aimed to reveal the thinking behind the programme and to help parents appreciate the transformation that had taken place over the previous three days.

The facilitators reminded everyone that much of the learning happened through carefully designed challenges rather than traditional lessons.

2. The Students’ “Superpowers”

The first major section explored the “superpowers” students had developed during the bootcamp.

These were not academic subjects but practical capabilities needed for the future, including:

• Communication

• Leadership - though it was not the core theme.

• Teamwork

• Problem solving

• Adaptability

• Confidence

• Decision-making

• Resilience

Rather than teaching these through lectures, the bootcamp immersed students in situations where they had to practise them under pressure.

3. The Psychology Behind the Bootcamp

One of the most important parts of the presentation explained the psychological principles behind the programme. Mike and jacob had done an outstanding job there.

Jacob described why students were intentionally placed in unfamiliar situations:

• Working with new teammates.

• Solving ambiguous problems.

• Facing time pressure.

• Communicating in English.

• Leading without being told exactly what to do.

Parents were shown that moments which looked difficult or uncomfortable were deliberately created because meaningful growth occurs outside a child’s comfort zone.

4. Sustainability as a Way of Thinking

The presentation then shifted to sustainability. Let’s be honest - we care less about the planet than ever and definitely less than our needs. So whats all this “buzz” about sustainability about?

Rather than presenting sustainability only as recycling or environmental protection, students explained that they had been encouraged to think about:

• Systems.

• Cause and effect.

• Long-term consequences.

• Responsible decision-making.

• Creating value for communities.

The sustainability projects became vehicles for developing critical thinking instead of memorising environmental facts.

5. Behind the Scenes

Parents were also given a glimpse into how the bootcamp operated behind the scenes.

The facilitators explained why schedules changed, why students rotated through different roles, and why facilitators often refused to provide direct answers. Even managuing the finances.

Instead of solving problems for the students, the adults created opportunities for students to discover solutions themselves.

The details of the cost itself was to be finalised among the region. Dr Giang and the team was already in the process of clearing up the remaining 35% of pending payment.

6. Parent Interviews

Another key segment involved interviewing parents.

Jimmy was assigned to conduct short interviews, asking parents about:

• Their observations of their children.

• Changes they noticed.

• Memorable moments.

• Expectations for the future.

Some interviews were recorded as short testimonial videos, while Luna was tasked with following up online with parents who could not attend in person.

These reflections became an important part of measuring the programme’s impact beyond the students themselves.

7. Coaching the Ambassadors

Much of the preparation for the presentation was itself a learning experience.

The facilitators repeatedly reminded the ambassadors to:

• Speak louder.

• Stand while presenting.

• Smile.

• Maintain eye contact.

• Translate naturally rather than word-for-word.

• Keep the audience engaged.

Jacob was encouraged to project confidence as the main presenter, while Ngoc Diep and Ming were coached to translate more fluidly and confidently.

8. Resilience: The Central Message

The presentation concluded with perhaps the most important lesson of the bootcamp.

The facilitators reminded students that success rarely comes easily.

One statement captured the philosophy of the entire programme from SAHN.

“If you fall down six times, stand up the seventh.”

Parents were encouraged to recognise that resilience—not perfect performance—was the greatest outcome of the bootcamp.

The goal was not to produce children who never failed, but children who learned how to recover, adapt, and continue moving forward.

9. Looking Beyond the Bootcamp

Finally, Dr. Giang introduced the next phase of the journey.

Rather than allowing the bootcamp experience to end after three days, she proposed establishing the Global Citizen Club Hanoi, where students could continue meeting regularly, working on projects, practising leadership, and strengthening the relationships they had built during the bootcamp.

She also invited parents to become active partners in shaping this community, ensuring that learning would continue long after the buses left Mộc Châu.

Overall Theme

The closure presentation was built around a simple but powerful message:

The bootcamp was never about completing activities—it was about transforming the way young people think, communicate, collaborate, and respond to uncertainty.

Every hike, project, debate, challenge, and presentation was intentionally designed to cultivate the habits and mindset needed to thrive in an unpredictable world. The closing session helped parents see beyond the visible activities to understand the educational philosophy, celebrated the students’ growth, and laid the foundation for the next stage of their journey through the Global Citizen Club.

From Bootcamp to a Community:

As the official parent sharing session drew to a close, the conversation naturally shifted from celebrating what had happened over the past few days to asking a much bigger question.

What happens after everyone goes home?

That question became the focus of Dr. Giang’s presentation.

Before handing the floor over to her, LIN91 introduced the significance of the moment. She explained that the Mộc Châu Bootcamp was not simply another camp—it represented the first official activity of the Global Citizen Club in Hanoi. It was intended to become the starting point of something much larger than a three-day programme.

LIN91 reminded everyone that Dr. Giang had witnessed several previous bootcamps. Having observed the evolution of both the programmes and the children over multiple seasons, she had noticed a significant improvement in the quality of the learning experience and the maturity of the ambassadors.

What impressed her even more was not only the students’ progress, but the enthusiasm shown by the parents.

Parents such as Mike’s mother and Minh’s mother had independently approached the organising team with exactly the same request: they wanted regular face-to-face activities for their children instead of waiting for the next bootcamp.

Rather than allowing the momentum to disappear after one weekend, everyone wanted to continue building it.

That common interest became the foundation for Dr. Giang’s proposal.

The goal, LIN91 explained, was that by the end of the meeting, everyone would leave with an agreed direction for building the Global Citizen Club in Hanoi, supported jointly by students, parents and facilitators.

Building Two Learning Pathways

Dr. Giang proposed that the community should not treat every child in the same way.

Instead, activities would be organised around two different groups.

The first group would consist of the experienced ambassadors who had already completed previous bootcamps and were comfortable communicating in English.

already had a foundation. They had experienced the training methodology and could begin taking leadership roles within the community.

The second group would include newer students who were either attending for the first time or were still developing confidence in communication.

Instead of expecting everyone to progress at the same speed, both groups would receive activities appropriate to their current stage.

A Community That Meets Regularly

Rather than relying solely on intensive bootcamps, Dr. Giang outlined a rhythm of continuous learning.

The proposal was simple.

Children should meet once every week, for approximately two hours, in Hanoi.

These would not become traditional classroom lessons.

Instead, they would continue developing the same skills practised during the bootcamp:

• communication

• teamwork

• leadership

• project planning

• sustainability

• English through authentic interaction

The bootcamp would therefore become the beginning of an ongoing learning journey rather than a standalone event.

Parents Become Part of the Ecosystem

One of the strongest themes throughout Dr. Giang’s discussion was that parents were not simply spectators.

She asked for the parents’ agreement, feedback and support before finalising the activities.

If parents felt adjustments were needed, the programme would evolve together with them.

This reflected one of the philosophies repeatedly mentioned throughout the bootcamp:

Build with the community, not for the community.

Parents were therefore invited to shape the direction of the Hanoi chapter instead of simply enrolling their children.

Connecting Hanoi to the Larger Global Citizen Network

Another important point was that Hanoi would not operate independently.

Dr. Giang explained that there was already a larger ambassador community operating elsewhere.

Instead of reinventing everything from scratch, the Hanoi students would join that existing framework.

Experienced ambassadors in Vietnam could participate alongside the wider international network while gradually adapting activities to local conditions.

This meant students in Hanoi would become part of something larger than a local club.

They would be connected to an expanding ecosystem of young ambassadors with the other GCC as well.

Projects Instead of Lessons

Rather than focusing on lectures, Dr. Giang suggested using longer-term projects.

One proposal was to organise a larger activity every few months.

Children would spend weeks planning, researching and preparing before finally presenting or delivering a community activity.

The emphasis was not on attending another lesson.

The emphasis was on learning through creating something meaningful.

Supporting Students Outside Hanoi

Another discussion recognised that not every participant lived in Hanoi.

Some children returned to different provinces after the bootcamp.

Instead of excluding them, Dr. Giang suggested developing small local models.

Students could begin organising similar activities within their own schools or local communities.

The Hanoi team would provide guidance while local students gradually expanded the programme into different regions.

In other words, instead of asking everyone to travel to Hanoi every week, the community itself would spread outward.

A Flexible Framework

Dr. Giang also emphasised that this was only the first proposal.

Nothing had been permanently decided.

The framework already existed, but it would continue evolving to suit Vietnamese families.

Parents were encouraged to suggest improvements before the activities officially began.

The intention was to build something sustainable rather than rushing into a fixed schedule.

The Bigger Picture

Although much of the bootcamp had focused on resilience, communication and sustainability, Dr. Giang’s contribution added another important layer.

She challenged everyone to think beyond individual events.

A bootcamp lasts only a few days.

A community can last for years.

Her discussion therefore transformed the conversation from celebrating one successful programme into designing an ecosystem where children continue practising leadership, collaboration and global citizenship long after the buses leave Mộc Châu.

By the end of the session, parents were no longer discussing the end of the bootcamp.

Instead, they were discussing the beginning of the Global Citizen Club —a community built on regular activities, project-based learning, collaboration between experienced and new ambassadors, and active parent involvement. The vision was clear: the bootcamp was never intended to be the destination.

It was simply the first step in building a long-term movement for young global citizens. It was also crucial to build a shared vision with other GCC initiatives and join hands whenever possible.

Before the closing ceremony could begin, the room looked like controlled chaos.

Someone was adjusting the projector. Another was moving chairs. A few students were still chatting. The online teams were logging in one by one. Someone shouted, “Bali team, are you on board?” Another voice replied, “We’ve got fifteen minutes left!”

In the middle of this organised madness stood Jacob and Chilli, quietly coordinating everything. They weren’t the loudest people in the room, nor were they trying to be the stars of the show. Their role was much deeper than simply making sure the programme ran on time.

They were creating the space for something far more important.

Awareness.

They ensured every student, every online participant, every reflection, every camera angle and every conversation came together into one shared experience. It was less like hosting an event and more like conducting an orchestra where every instrument needed to find its rhythm at exactly the right moment.

Once everyone had settled down, Jacob stood before the room with a simple question.

“So... what have we actually learned over the last three days?”

Silence filled the room.

Not because nobody had learned anything.

Because everyone suddenly realised this wasn’t a question with a textbook answer.

Jacob smiled.

“Thirty seconds each. No speeches. Just tell us what you discovered.”

One by one, students walked forward.

“We learned about the ethnic communities.”

“We learned about confidence.”

“We learned about teamwork.”

“We learned about respect.”

Every answer sounded familiar.

Then Jacob asked one more question.

That single word changed the atmosphere completely.

The room stopped collecting answers and started discovering meaning.

A student who had proudly said “leadership” suddenly explained that it meant understanding fourteen different personalities and keeping a team connected throughout the programme. Another realised confidence wasn’t about speaking loudly. It was about speaking even when your hands were trembling. Someone reflected that respect wasn’t something adults expected from children. It was something every successful team naturally developed through living, learning and solving problems together.

Jacob wasn’t teaching definitions. It was not leadership - but awareness he re-iterated.

He was helping every participant become aware of themselves.

Meanwhile, Chilli moved quietly around the room.

She noticed who had not spoken.

She encouraged quieter students.

She organised translations.

She kept the conversations flowing naturally.

While Jacob invited students to look inward, Chilli constantly looked outward, making sure every participant felt seen, included and ready to contribute.

Reflect on what you had truly discovered.

The Indonesian team began with Kyla.

Listening to her reflection, it became clear that the bootcamp had become much more than a series of activities. She spoke about exploring history, discovering culture and understanding communities through observation rather than assumption. Although she was hundreds of kilometres away, she spoke with the same excitement as everyone sitting inside the room.

Distance had disappeared.

Curiosity had connected everyone.

As Kyla invited her teammates to contribute, she naturally created space for every voice to be heard.

Awareness, after all, grows stronger when it is shared.

Then came Hali.

With a smile, she admitted,

“Oh my God... I’m shaking.”

The room smiled with her.

She continued anyway.

As she reflected on her experience, Hali shared how their team gradually realised the importance of staying together and learning together. More importantly, she discovered something beautifully simple.

“Learning isn’t all about strength and hardness. It also comes from fun.”

It was a reminder that meaningful learning rarely happens because someone tells us to learn.

It happens because we become fully present in the experience.

In that moment, Hali wasn’t becoming more confident.

She was becoming more aware of herself.

Next came Ale.

His reflection focused on history, traditions and culture.

He spoke about tracing the stories behind customs and understanding why communities develop differently across the world.

Nothing about his reflection sounded complicated.

That was exactly what made it powerful.

Awareness doesn’t begin with having more information.

It begins with asking better questions.

Ale had discovered that every culture carries a story waiting to be understood rather than judged.

While everyone listened carefully, another quiet contribution was unfolding.

Giani was making sure the online conversations remained connected. She encouraged participation, supported her teammates and ensured every reflection became part of the larger discussion.

Her awareness extended beyond the screen.

She saw the bootcamp not as a three-day programme, but as the beginning of a much longer journey—one that she would continue bringing back into her own community.

Learning, she realised, doesn’t finish when the programme ends.

It continues wherever people choose to carry it.

Then Singapore joined the conversation.

JFP shared a completely different experience.

Their reflections were shaped by observation.

During the Silent Observation Walk, something unexpected happened.

The activity slowed everything down.

Without rushing.

Without distractions.

Without trying to reach the next destination.

People simply noticed.

They noticed the environment.

They noticed conversations.

They noticed each other.

JFP shared that this simple experience created space for teammates to reconnect naturally. There was no lesson about communication. No workshop about relationships.

Just awareness.

Sometimes, slowing down allows people to see what has been there all along.

When JFP invited Alvin to continue the reflection, the conversation naturally widened.

Alvin described how even a smaller group could create meaningful experiences through observation, conversation and community engagement.

Together, they reminded everyone that awareness is not determined by the size of a team.

It is determined by the quality of attention we give to the people and places around us.

As the reflections continued, something remarkable became clear.

Very few participants spoke about memorising information.

Instead, they spoke about noticing.

Noticing themselves.

Noticing teammates.

Noticing cultures.

Noticing communities.

Noticing opportunities that had always existed but often went unseen.

The closing ceremony slowly transformed into something much greater than a celebration.

It became a mirror.

Every student reflected a different perspective.

Jacob encouraged awareness of self.

Chilli nurtured awareness of others.

Kyla connected awareness across countries.

Hali discovered awareness of her own voice.

Ale found awareness through curiosity.

JFP discovered awareness through stillness.

Alvin reminded everyone that meaningful experiences begin with paying attention.

Different people.

Different journeys.

Different reflections.

Yet every story pointed towards the same destination.

Awareness.

Because before we can solve problems...

Before we can innovate...

Before we can collaborate...

Before we can make meaningful decisions...

We must first learn to notice.

Notice ourselves.

Notice other people.

Notice the communities around us.

Notice the world we hope to improve.

That was the greatest lesson of Mộc Châu.

The mountains taught geography.

The villages taught culture.

The activities taught teamwork.

But awareness...

Awareness taught them how to truly see.

And once you learn to see, the world never looks quite the same again.

As the ambassadors slowly drifted into the dining area, some still rubbing sleep from their eyes, there was already a familiar voice cutting through the morning silence.

“Journals out!”

A few students instinctively reached into their backpacks.

Others looked around, hoping someone else would distract the bootcamp commander.

It didn’t work.

“No, no, no...” Jacob laughed as he walked between the tables. “I don’t want excuses. I want journals. Chop chop! Move!”

Within seconds, the relaxed breakfast atmosphere disappeared.

The dining hall transformed into mission control.

Some ambassadors hurriedly opened their reflection journals while others searched for yesterday’s photographs. One student proudly declared that everything had already been completed.

Another quietly leaned over to a teammate.

“What exactly are we supposed to write?”

The reply came almost immediately.

“Everything.”

That single word perfectly captured the philosophy behind the bootcamp.

Every experience mattered.

Every conversation mattered.

Every mistake mattered.

Most importantly, every lesson deserved to be captured before it disappeared.

Reflection wasn’t simply homework.

It was training.

The ambassadors weren’t just collecting memories.

They were learning how to think.

Jacob and Chilli walked around the room checking journals one by one.

“I need your journals for Day One. Day Two. Everything. Before you leave today, they need to be completed.”

There were playful groans across the room.

“But we’re going out soon!”

“Exactly,” he smiled.

“So finish them.”

It wasn’t punishment.

It was discipline.

In a world where people rush from one experience to another without ever stopping to process what they’ve learnt, the bootcamp deliberately slowed everyone down.

Before discovering the world outside, they first had to discover what was happening inside their own minds.

Controlled Chaos

While reflections were being written, the rest of the room looked wonderfully chaotic.

“Luna!”

“Yes?”

“Make sure everyone uploads their reflections.”

“Done.”

“And the photographs?”

“I’m checking.”

“The Qboard?”

“Already updated.”

Around another table, someone was trying to connect to the internet.

“It isn’t working!”

Another ambassador looked equally frustrated.

“I can’t upload my pictures.”

Jacob walked over, glanced at the screen and smiled.

“When something doesn’t work...”

Everyone looked up.

“...schedule it for later and move on.”

The student blinked.

“So... don’t keep trying?”

“No.”

“Focus on what you can control.”

It sounded like advice about Wi-Fi.

It was actually a lesson about life.

Too many people waste enormous amounts of energy trying to solve problems they cannot immediately control while completely ignoring the work that can already be done.

The internet eventually returned.

But by then, everyone had already found something more productive to do.

No Paper? Find A Solution.

Across the room another problem appeared.

"I don't have any paper."

Instead of immediately offering a solution, DAV79 asked,

"What could you do?"

The student paused.

"I don't know..."

"Where else on classroom might there be paper?"

A few moments later, the student's face lit up.

"The kitchen!"

"Go check."

Minutes later, the student returned carrying several sheets.

Problem solved.

The paper wasn't the real lesson.

The lesson was discovering that obstacles are often invitations to think, not signals to stop.

The bootcamp quietly challenged one of the strongest habits many students had built over the years. Instead of waiting for someone else to provide the answer, they learned to search, test ideas, and act. The confidence they carried back wasn't just paper. It was evidence that they could find a way.

Instead of explaining why something couldn’t be done...

Find a way to do it.

Every small inconvenience became another opportunity to practise resourcefulness.

As journals slowly filled with words and photographs appeared in shared folders, the team leaders began checking on everyone else.

Nobody sat around waiting for instructions.

If your own work was complete, you helped someone else’s.

One ambassador distributed stationery.

Another collected photographs.

Someone else helped organise the shared gallery.

Others checked whether everyone had completed their journals.

Leadership wasn’t a title.

It was behaviour.

Without anyone announcing it, the ambassadors were beginning to function less like individuals and more like an ecosystem.

Each person’s progress depended on everyone else’s progress.

That lesson would become even more important later in the day.

Ready To Explore

With journals finally completed and backpacks packed once again, the teams gathered outside.

The mountain air felt noticeably cooler than the city.

Mist drifted lazily across the hills while the villages slowly came alive around them.

Today wasn’t another sightseeing trip.

Today they would begin stepping inside local communities.

Their destination was the Tay community.

The Tay People

The morning’s programme sounded simple enough. Jacob had done all the planning - but guess what - he was in a for a big surprise and so were the villagers at the Tay Village.

Participate in traditional Tay activities.

Learn through local games.

Experience community life.

Simple.

At least on paper.

Within minutes, organised plans dissolved into absolute laughter.

One team confidently ran towards the wrong checkpoint. “ headache!!! “

Another spent more time debating strategy than actually moving.

Someone misunderstood the instructions completely. The bootcamp commander failed his research — amidst constraints and pressure — the activity plan was overlooked. Now they had only 1 option — progress — to move forward.

One ambassador confidently shouted,

“I know exactly what we’re doing!”

Five seconds later another teammate replied,

“No, you don’t!”

Even the local organisers couldn’t stop laughing. Parents were fighting hard not to dive in to take control. Team FD members were jumping in every time to ensure the controlled chaos was left to be managed by the ambassadors. The whole of the Tay Village was amused at the sudden rush in “tourism”. They hadn’t anticipated this. The bootcamp commander and his assistant were swapping positions every 20 minutes like sharks in a tank. The assistant bootcamp commander escalated a situation directly to DAV79 and the bootcamp commander Jacob was a little bit upset about that — but also for the right reason. There was a hierarchy and he needed his team to ensure seamless integration and trust. Asked why it was so, response from the assistant commander was clear — the bootcamp commander was sometimes lost in his personal bias and that’s why the assistant had to dive in — so it was a complex situation. Nonetheless it ended well. DAV79 warned the bootcamp commander to not let personal bias get in his way. They all laughed it away and took a serious view on what to keep focus on.

But underneath the humour was something much more important.

The traditional games weren’t designed simply for entertainment.

Over generations they had become ways of teaching trust, communication, cooperation and shared responsibility.

The ambassadors slowly realised something surprising.

Companies today spend millions creating artificial team-building programmes.

Communities like the Tay had been teaching exactly the same lessons naturally for hundreds of years.

No conference rooms.

No motivational speeches.

No PowerPoint presentations.

Just people working together.

Winning Differently

At one point an ambassador looked disappointed.

“I think we’re losing.”

Cloudy looked around.

“Really?”

“Yes.”

“So who’s smiling the most?”

The ambassador looked back at the team.

Everyone was laughing.

Everyone was cheering.

Nobody had stopped encouraging each other.

“I think... us.”

“Exactly.”

Sometimes success isn’t measured by who finishes first.

Sometimes success is measured by how well you bring everyone else with you.

The scoreboard only measures results. They learnt so many Tay slangs and were quite surprised. Lets see if the members can remember…

Hmong Art – Reading Stories Without Words

After lunch the pace changed completely.

The running stopped.

The shouting disappeared.

The afternoon became quieter.

The ambassadors entered a Hmong cultural workshop where beautifully embroidered textiles covered the walls.

At first everyone admired the colours.

The patterns.

The incredible attention to detail.

Then the stories began.

Each design carried meaning.

Mountains.

Families.

Nature.

Protection.

History.

Identity.

One student picked up a beautifully embroidered piece and asked,

“How long did this take?”

The artisan smiled gently.

“Several months.”

Silence filled the room.

Someone eventually whispered,

“I couldn’t even finish my homework yesterday.”

The entire workshop burst into laughter.

The artisan laughed too.

It was impossible not to.

That single conversation reminded everyone that craftsmanship isn’t measured in hours.

It’s measured in patience.

Every stitch represented thousands of deliberate decisions made by someone who refused to rush.

In today’s world almost everything is designed for speed.

The Hmong community reminded everyone that some things become valuable precisely because they cannot be rushed.

More Than Just A Product

One ambassador asked another interesting question.

“If a machine can make this faster...”

“...why still do it by hand?”

The artisan thought for a moment.

“A machine can copy the pattern.”

“It cannot copy the person.”

Nobody needed another explanation.

The room suddenly understood that heritage isn’t simply preserved inside objects.

It is preserved inside people.

Technology can duplicate products.

It cannot duplicate generations of lived experience.

Jacob goes to negotiate with the night market. 100 K for the hot pot per person - the cheapest possible ( other places and historical charges were at 250 per pax) and usually we wasted about 40% of the food anyway. So why do that.

The only issue that Jacob faced was with the bike ride ….ehem… DAV79 was crazy he said. Cloudy had already experienced this earlier. The only other person who braved to sit behind was Chilli. Dav79’s Black Cat shogun was reved up and ready to go. Dr Giang wished Jacob all the best for the nego and safe rides to both of them.

But before they left , Jacob wanted others to play with the kite and the locals while the weather was still good so he asked DAV79 to pause and take a pic and send to the group.

Jacob finally won the deal - hard core negotiation. Bravo. 100 K per pax.

Rain Changes The Plan

The evening promised one final adventure. Games and a new campfire and dance.

All at the Mộc Châu Night Market…..

The ambassadors imagined colourful stalls, local businesses, street food and conversations with shop owners.

They got on stage and delivered probably the first performance from outsiders. The audience joined in to listen to Dr Giang talk about the Global Citizen and listen to the song from the group - Tam, which means the SOUL.

Jacob whispered to Dr Giang - take as much time as you can. Dr Giang could only smile and she went super energetic on her messages to the huge crowd.

Jacob had also tried to convince DAV79 that probably they should go karoake version - and DAV79 said that would be a pity - but eventually, Jacob chose the easier path which was a lose of their identify and a subtle disapointment. But hey - it is what it is. C’est la vie.

Then just as the members started eating, the rain arrived.

eventually we still wasted about 25% of the food.

Not gentle rain.

Mountain rain.

Within moments umbrellas appeared everywhere.

Students dashed under shop roofs.

The guardians laughed as they unsuccessfully tried to stay dry.

One ambassador looked down at completely soaked shoes.

“I think my socks have officially become fish.”

The busy marketplace slowly emptied. DAV79 and Mr Phuc “stole” 2 coca cola cans - that were already purchased by another table but forgot to declare that. Good intentions - but not executed with completion led to integrity issues.

Everyone burst into laughter.

The visit became much shorter than originally planned.

Many vendors packed away their products.

Others hurried to protect their stalls from the rain.

Was it disappointing?

Of course.

But nobody complained for long.

One of the quiet lessons of the bootcamp had already become obvious.

Real life doesn’t pause because the weather changes.

Business doesn’t stop because conditions become inconvenient.

Communities adapt.

Travellers adapt.

Leaders adapt.

So did the ambassadors.

Sometimes resilience isn’t finishing Plan A.

Sometimes resilience is smiling while creating Plan B or C or Z….. whatever it takes.

The Real Lesson

That evening, as everyone settled back into the accommodation, journals appeared once again.

This time something was different.

Very few students wrote about who had won.

Very few talked about scores.

Instead they wrote about conversations.

About laughter.

About getting soaked in the rain.

About the incredible patience behind Hmong embroidery.

About discovering that traditional games often teach more about teamwork than modern classrooms ever could.

Without realising it, the ambassadors had begun changing.

They were no longer simply participating.

They were observing.

Questioning.

Connecting.

Reflecting.

Day Two wasn’t really about the Tay Race.

It wasn’t about Hmong art.

It wasn’t even about the night market.

Those were simply the classrooms.

The real lesson was learning to see beyond the activity itself.

To recognise that culture lives inside everyday decisions.

That leadership begins with discipline.

That reflection transforms experience into wisdom.

And that sometimes, the most memorable moments of a journey aren’t the ones that go according to plan—they’re the ones where the rain falls, everyone gets soaked, and somehow, those become the stories everyone laughs about long after the bootcamp is over.

Back at the base camp @ Mer, some parents and passing guests decided to huddle in for a quick shot. Mr Phuc got a crazy idea and “borrowed” a lime from the tree in the garden to pair with the drink.

Meanwhile from Jogja, Kyla send in the reports for Day 2

On Day 2 of the Daily Discoveries Bootcamp, from Jogja, held in the hotel meeting room, participants shifted from exploring the museum to analyzing their findings. The first activity required participants to study and present on a specific culture assigned by the bootcamp commander. Next, participants selected an object from the previous day's museum visit to analyze and present, followed by a quiz designed to test their attentiveness. Because time ran short, the final activity was completed at home, where participants interviewed a peer to study their character, digging deeper into their traits using "why" questions to document at least five key findings.

Sunrise in Moc Chau was beautiful.

The bootcamp became the meeting point for both mindsets. Order and Chaos.

Most ambassadors recognised themselves in the first group - naturally set as our systems and socities strucutred themselves. They appreciated structure, familiar routines and clear directions. At the same time, they also recognised the pace of the world around them. Careers evolve. Industries transform. New technologies reshape familiar landscapes. Every shift rewards people who adapt, explore and move confidently into unfamiliar territory.

Its dairy farms, tea plantations, villages and winding mountain roads offered far more than beautiful scenery. Each location presented a fresh environment, new conversations and unfamiliar challenges. Every experience encouraged the ambassadors to observe more carefully, ask richer questions and discover opportunities hidden within the unknown.

Over the next three days, the goal extended beyond reaching the destination. It centred on developing the confidence to navigate wherever the journey led.

The room came alive long before anyone reached the first slide. This morning belonged to one purpose: bringing Day One back to life.

DAV79 looked around the room with a smile.

“Let’s find out who remembers the day best. First question... Who woke up first?”

“Chili!” several voices answered in unison.

A grin spread across Chili’s face. The title of First to Rise clearly belonged to him.

“Excellent,” said DAV79. “Next question. Who arrived late?”

Every head turned towards Jacob.

Jacob raised his hand with a smile.

“That would be me.”

“And what came next?”

“Push-ups,” Jacob replied instantly.

The room burst into laughter.

“I still remember counting every one of them.”

Jacob remembered dropping to the floor.

“One...”

The room joined in.

“Two...”

“Three...”

“Perfect,” said DAV79. “Now let’s tell the story.”

Jacob stood up, dusted off his hands and faced the group.

“My name is Jacob, I’m fifteen years old, and this is Day One.”

Jimmy’s hand shot up.

“You skipped brushing your teeth.”

“And washing your face,” Mike added with perfect timing.

Jacob laughed.

“Good catch. Personal hygiene came first... and the beds too. We made sure everything was ready before roll call.”

“Excellent,” said DAV79. “Keep going.”

The conversation flowed effortlessly.

One memory sparked another.

One student added a missing detail.

Another filled in the next chapter.

Within minutes, the room had transformed into a living timeline of the day, stitched together through laughter, conversations and shared memories.

The summary had begun.

Chapter 1 – Sunrise in Mộc Châu

Chili continued.

“The alarm rang at 5:45.”

“Roll call at six,” someone added.

“We started around six-ten,” another voice joined.

DAV79 nodded.

“Good. Keep going.”

Jimmy smiled.

“Breakfast!”

“What was breakfast?” asked DAV79.

“Noodles with eggs.”

“I enjoyed breakfast,” Mike announced proudly.

“We know,” somebody replied immediately.

The room laughed again.

Breakfast became more than a meal.

Students gathered around the same tables, shared stories from the journey to Mộc Châu and wondered what adventures waited outside. Then they returned their plates - well most of them

DAV79 looked around the room.

“What came after breakfast?”

“Dairy farm!”

Several hands shot into the air.

“Who wants to start?”

Avis stood up first.

“The first challenge was collecting as many fun facts about cows as possible.”

“What did your team discover?” asked Jacob.

Jimmy smiled.

“Many things.”

“Give us one.”

“The cows each have their own identification.”

Another student added another discovery.

“Cows have different feeding schedules.”

Another hand appeared.

“They each have their own routine.”

The story slowly expanded.

One observation inspired another.

One answer invited another question.

The room felt less like a presentation and more like friends piecing together an adventure.

Chapter 2 – The Dairy Detectives

“The second challenge?” DAV79 asked.

Ngoc Diep answered immediately.

“The milk journey.”

“Explain.”
