In Human Design there’s something called Global Cycles.

We’ve collectively been under the Cross of Planning since 1615. This global cycle was focused on belonging, duty, agreements, and mutual support. Every institution (including marriage) was used for the enhancement and progression of society.

This means that most marriages since the 1600s have had more to do with status, security, and stability than they ever had to do with love.

** of course there are outliers, let’s not bean soup this mmmmk?

Modern dating is broken because it needs to die.

If you’ve been running in circles looking for your husband, casting love spells, trying to become soft and submissive (that was never gonna work, btw), or just generally freaking out about being single then I’ve got some very very good news for you, babe.

The new paradigm of relationship is for the lovers, the alchemists, the spiritual baddies who know themselves deeply.

The old paradigm of love: how the Cross of Planning built empires while breaking hearts

If I had to choose a story that could encapsulate the way we experienced love in the Cross of Planning it would be a shakespearean tragedy.

Star crossed lovers.

Drama and heartbreak fuelled by the pain of loving somebody you’re not allowed to be with.

All of our great love stories of the past 400 years have centred on one theme: forbidden tantalizing love.

Romeo and Juliet.

The Notebook.

Pride and Prejudice.

Brokeback Mountain.

Even most of our Disney Princesses have had to navigate the question of: do I choose true love or do I choose what is expected of me?

And while the protagonist in these stories almost always chooses the gardener she loves over the king she doesn’t, it’s very rare that that choice plays out in real time, in real life.

The romance genre has been an escape. A way for women and men to fantasize about a world where being fully autonomous and sovereign in who we choose to love is a possibility.

And I’m excited to tell you that that world is about to emerge but we need to get rid of all old paradigm dating habits first.

Dating norms we absolutely CANNOT bring with us into the New Paradigm!!

✨ Dating solely for status, stability, and provision.

I’m watching so many clients navigate this in real time. Almost every person I know who followed the advice of every insta-therapist that demonizes chemistry and married the “safe choice” is deeply regretting it. This is because we’re entering an era where safety has to come from the inside, where sovereignty isn’t the result of a good relationship, it’s the cause of one. When we make romantic choices based on status and certainty our heart contracts and our experience of life gets smaller.

🐟 Treating people like they’re disposable.

Are there a million fish in the sea? Maybe. But there are only a handful of fish who have the capacity to truly love you, see you, and support you in your awakening. In a world where we can download an app and basically order a man to our door it’s easy to think that the options are endless… but truthfully, there are very few people that you have a soul contract with. If you are lucky enough to find love, do everything in your power to show up for it.

🍋‍🟩 Forced commitment timelines.

How many weddings have you been to where it felt like the couple was simply taking the next step? Where marriage was an afterthought, something that was expected because they’d been together long enough? When we value a timeline over finding the right person we almost always end up feeling unfulfilled. This isn’t to say that you can’t breakup with somebody because you want to get married and they don’t… thats a sovereign and loving choice for everyone involved. What I’m saying is that when you force Joey to give you a shut up ring, not because you love him but because you feel entitled to marriage, you will almost always wish you had simply just found a new Joey.

👯Seeking Daddy + Mommy’s approval.

I’m very lucky to have parents who have always had the mindset of “I’m not dating him, you are” so from a very young age I’ve had to truly OWN my relationship choices. When we seek the approval of our parents, our friends, or even our therapist(!!!!) we run the risk of making a choice that doesn’t really work for us. Sovereignty is sexy and the least sovereign thing ever is asking a third party “do you think I should date him?!”

🐊 MAKING IT WORK NO MATTER WHAT!!!

I’m a big fan of devotion in relationship. However, there are people and situations who aren’t ready for the level of devotion that you have to offer. Sometimes you need to leave the shitty relationship so you can find your soulmate. This doesn’t mean the relationship failed, it simply means there’s a fork in the road and you’re headed in different directions. Thats ok.

👀 Rigid roles and rules

When we have super rigid expectations for what a man will do or how a woman will behave we set everybody up for failure. Rules for dating + love are killing passion and eros in our relationships. Instead of listening to dating gurus that tell you never to double text… maybe just ask yourself what YOU want to do? Bringing individuation + autonomy into dating is what will actually heal the chasm thats been created between men and women.

🫆 and the one I’m most excited to watch die… settling.

If I see ONE MORE super hot girl with a heart of gold settling for some Chad that lives down the street just because she’s 37 and feels like time is running out I am going to scream. When we settle in any area of life it is FELT and the repercussions are too heavy to risk. Don’t settle, I am begging you.

Dating under the Cross of the Sleeping Phoenix: an emerging world of passion, intimacy, autonomy, and love as an action, not a fantasy.

In 2027 we move into our next global cycle, the Right Angle Cross (RAX) of the Sleeping Phoenix. This 400 year cycle will focus on sovereignty, intimacy, and awakening. As a global collective we will feel called to truly individuate, to become the highest and most genuine version of ourselves.

This is the incarnation cross that I was born under and I am so excited for how relationships will shift under this new paradigm. The Cross of the Sleeping Phoenix is made up of four of my most favourite gates in Human Design…

Gate 59: This is the gate of intimacy/ sexuality. It lives in the Sacral and supports us in creating deep bonds with those around us. The most crucial and key part of this energy though is that the intimacy comes from vulnerability, honesty, and truth. Being honest about who you are is what leads to soulmate level love.

Gate 55: This is the gate of spirit/abundance/moods. I call this the Vincent Van Gogh gate because it is all about turning our emotions into art (or else we suffer deeply). People who carry this gate are deep feelers who are passionate and intuitive. It’s a gate that reminds us that an open heart is what creates a magical life.

Gate 34: Gate 34 is the gate of power and is responsible for our ability to turn our dreams into a reality. This is the quintessential gate of sovereignty and autonomy. People who carry this gate will almost never do anything they don’t wanna do (including dating somebody they’re lukewarm about just to fit into the status quo)

and Gate 20: This is the gate of presence and quiet power. In my work I call this the gate of quiet confidence because people who carry this are very self-contained but are rarely loud about it. They’re honest, empowering, and rarely perform for others. They carry more integrity in their left pinky than most people do in their entire bodies, and thats their superpower.

So what does this mean for relationships in the new paradigm; I believe that moving forward into the Cross of the Phoenix more and more people will value:

🌀resonance over responsibility.

New Paradigm relationships will focus on resonance more than obligation. A successful relationship will be defined by your ability to magnetize the person who’s a correct fit for you, not your ability to stick it out in the worst relationship on the planet.

🕊️ love that supports your awakening as an individual

Ideally you will partner with somebody who wants to see you become your happiest self. Awakening and soul fulfillment will be THE reason we enter into a romantic relationship with another person. I mean, once you know how to pay your own bills and take care of your own heart, how else can somebody support you? People who are natural vision holders and true lovers will have many options in the new paradigm.

🌺 emotional fulfilment > obligation and control

It might be my gate 59 talking but I am so fucking tired of the demonizing of chemistry. Listen, I used to be a couples therapist. I have taken every couples therapy training under the sun. You thought your obsession with this trope began with The Summer I turned Pretty?

No, babe. This story is embedded in your bones. It's as old as time. We’ve been telling some version of this around a campfire for thousands of years.

This literary phenomenon began with the original forbidden love affair: the story of Aphrodite, Ares, and Hephaestus.

This is a story that literally makes me sick. Every time I read about the love affair of Ares and Aphrodite I am struck by the depth of their care for each other and the star crossed lovers theme of it all.

Let’s dive into the story of two brothers and their competition over the hottest woman in town…

Let’s meet the brothers: Hephaestus and Ares. Both sons of Hera. Both family disappointments in their own way. Hephaestus was born crippled after Hera tried to pull a Zeus and have a child on her own. She was pissed that he wasn’t born perfect and intelligent like Athena, and threw him off mount Olympus. Ares was born beautiful, a son of both Zeus and Hera. While Hera accepted him, Zeus was infuriated by even the sight of him…many times claiming he would have killed him if he weren’t his own child. And what did Zeus hate about Ares so much? That he took after his mother. Talk about a family with major fucking issues.

The boys hated each other. And who could blame them?

So in comes Aphrodite. The coveted Goddess. A woman that every God wanted as his wife, but who kept evading being claimed like the plague. The original beautiful, free woman. A lover with a heart of gold and the independent spirit of a man. Zeus and Hera, the ultimate deciders of who marries who on mount Olympus, let her live a peaceful hot girl life…

until they didn’t.

How Aphrodite was forced into a loveless marriage, and how she refused to let humiliation dim her radiance

While Hephaestus was exiled he became the best blacksmith in all the lands and eventually made himself indispensable to the gods. Every beautiful thing in their kingdom was crafted by him.

But being loved by Thetis and Eurynome, and finding his own path wasn’t enough… he needed to get back at his evil mother (relatable, honestly)

His plan? trap her in an enchanted throne and make both her and Zeus look weak and dumb.

Zeus may have bitched and moaned about his wife, but he didn’t tolerate anybody else tormenting her. He sent out a task among the Olympian Gods: whomever could get Hephaestus to set Hera free would win Aphrodites hand in marriage.

Legend has it that Aphrodite stayed silent through it all. The common narrative is that she was silent and poised because she believed Ares, her love, would be the one to convince Hephaestus. He was a fierce and powerful man, a God of War, after all.

Here’s the thing though… did Aphrodite want to marry Ares?

No, probably not.

But if she had to be married, why not be married to the most stable and enduring love she had? In all of the myths and legends of Ares and Aphrodite it was always understood that he never tried to tame her passion and zest for love, and she never chided him for the violence that was born through war.

A true, new paradigm, accepting-each-other-as-they-are power couple.

As you can probably predict… Ares was unsuccessful in his attempt. Dionysus, the god of wine and chaos, convinced Hephaestus to free Hera and claim Aphrodite for himself.

They had a boring and short lived marriage. She refused to be the dream wife he had always imagined she would be. She was married the way Gods and men are married… on her own terms. She kept her lovers, her autonomy, and her temples. And Hephaestus tried his best to punish her for it, especially when it came to her ongoing relationship with Ares.

I won’t go into the ways he tried to embarrass her but there’s one thing you need to know: she always returns to Paphos and re-anoints herself. Nothing stops her from seeing herself as a Goddess, not even a jealous husband and moments of being a social outcast amongst the Gods.

She always returns to 2 things: her temple and her love for Ares.

Back to real life… why the modern Aphrodite Woman is conditioned to choose Hephaestus

Here’s the thing about myths and legends: they are caricatures of human behaviour. They point to the most exaggerated strengths and weaknesses in humanity.

Is Hephaestus a fucking LOSER of a man inside the Odyssey?

Yes. I didn’t go into it above because its honestly just too long… but in most of his story he was an entitled child of a man who felt he was OWED Aphrodites beauty and kindness and love, even though he did very little to actually evoke those things from her. When their marriage died he threw a fit and asked for his money back from Zeus and then threatened to rape Athena.

He hated Zeus but he was Zeus in another form: a man obsessed with power and control but with no access to it.

Tragic. Common. Sad.

But the Hephaestus man in modern times is not typically a terrible guy. Of course this archetype can go off the rails and become very incel-like… but most of the times the Hephaestus man is just a man who has been castrated by the women in his life, who feels powerless, and hates himself for it. He has never been loved or accepted by the feminine and that haunts him.

He finds power and relief through his work.

He becomes obsessed with being useful.

He is supportive and stable, but never fully lets you into his heart.

His energy is lame and never penetrates you.

And he feels safe… until he doesn’t.

The Hephaestus man is the man who looks good on paper, who does everything right, but who your body tags as something dangerous. The nice guy that you’re not sure is actually nice…

And the modern Aphrodite woman is taught to choose him. She is taught to choose the man who puts her on a pedestal, centres his entire world around her, and who would do anything for her. She’s taught to choose the man who is stable and can provide, even if he doesn’t get her. Even if her body is screaming at her… this is not right.

And when she has the audacity to say “I don’t think I like this.”

Everybody calls her crazy and says “but he worships you!!!!”

But what people don’t understand is that being worshipped is boring when it’s all you’ve ever known. Being seen is the true key to an Aphrodite Woman’s heart.

Aphrodite was adored everywhere she went. She didn’t need a marriage that placed those same expectations on her. She didn’t need a husband who idolized her and wanted her to feed into his fantasy of being the man who captured the Goddess of Beauty.

What Aphrodite needed was passionate love with a true counterpart. She needed a lover that saw her fully, in her beauty and her flaws. A man who she could count on, but who saw her as an equal, not a damsel to be saved.

She snapped back to Ares like a rubber band because their union was a meeting of equals. Equal in power. Equal in strength. He never asked her to be something she wasn’t. She saved him from the battlefield just as many times as he saved her. They raised 3 kids together: Terror, Fear, and Harmony.

There’s a later addition to their story claiming that Aphrodite has a vision that Ares will kill her mortal lover, Adonis. This is often taken as “proof” that their match was volatile, unstable, and riddled with jealousy. I think this was created as a way to divert women from choosing the passionate, protective, Ares man. What’s the easiest way to keep women from choosing a partner who will truly elevate and support her? Convince her that he’s dangerous.

And voila… the narrative of the forbidden bad boy was born.

My case for marrying the hot, sexy, bad boy that your mom and all your friends warn you about

I don’t know if you’ve ever dated an asshole, but I have. And by asshole I mean: a man that has a good heart but says what he means, doesn’t sugarcoat anything, and who is protective but won’t coddle you.

This isn’t the man who says “here babe, let me fix everything for you.” This is the man who says “I got you, but if you wanna do this on your own I respect that too”

Men like this are HOT. And I love being by their side.

Even though they’re treated like social pariahs a lot of the time.

They’re often perceived as hot-headed, arrogant, selfish, and destructive. Not different from how the Aphrodite woman is perceived as vain, manipulative, codependent, and entitled. Two sides of the same coin. Two people who are so rooted in themselves it makes everybody else slightly uncomfortable.

But where Aphrodite women are attuned enough to dim themselves and try to fit in for the sake of belonging… an Ares man will never do that.

He’d rather cut off his left arm than change himself for people who are committed to misunderstanding him.

He may be a little rough around the edges but the Ares man is a perfect match for an embodied, magnetic, Aphrodite woman. They are both alive and expressive. They are both emotionally intelligent and comfortable with vulnerability. They’re both loyal, and their loyalty isn’t tied to roles and social titles.

In its highest expression the union of Ares and Aphrodite is the peak of relational intimacy - together they create the kind of love we all dream of. They are authentic in their communication, unafraid of the conflict that comes from a disagreement. They are both attuned to each other, fuelling each others sense of passion and aliveness. And most importantly: the Ares man might be the only man who isn’t threatened by Aphrodites charm.

He loves her magnetism, her beauty, and her feminine power. And unlike every other God in Mount Olympus, he never once tried to humble her.

In return, the Aphrodite woman provides the inspiration and belief that Ares needs to conquer the world.

Most modern dating advice is created by Queens, for Queens. It’s not created for the goddess, the priestess, or any of the other feminine essences.

And while it might seem like a great idea to take a page from the Queens playbook… the reality is that you might find yourself inside an ivory tower living a life that bores you to tears.

So who is the Queen… and how do you know if you are her??

The Queen is a woman who embodies the Hera Frequency. She is a woman who is regal, magnetic, and confident. She is here to lead, to manage, and to build. She isn’t your typical girlboss though… she wants to build with a partner. She wants to create a world, a kingdom, a family. Queens often feel like they can only access their fullest potential and selves within a committed and monogamous relationship. But unlike Queens of antiquity who were forced into terrible marriages without having much say… the modern Queen knows that the partner she chooses will either bring alliances or devastate her entire kingdom.

The rest of us peasants are free to choose from the entire pool of available men… but a Queen HAS to find herself a King. She has no choice. And it weighs on her.

Most modern dating coaches are Queens…

And the reason for this is simple: Queens are obsessed with relationships… and more importantly, they are hyper aware of the importance of finding the right partner.

Most dating coaches are trying to teach you how to find your King.

But here’s the thing about Kings…

Not only are they incredibly rare.

But not everybody can handle, or even wants to handle, a man who is embodied in the King Archetype.

The King has a lot of responsibilities on his shoulders. He bears the weight of the world. His purpose lives at the top of the hierarchy of his life… and in his highest expression he demands a level of maturity, self responsibility, and devotion from his partner that very few people can actually hold.

Most women actually don’t want to date a King.

And if you do… you’ll have to activate your inner Queen in order to make that happen.

So what does this mean for you if you don’t identify with the Queen archetype?

If you’re here, in my orbit, I would bet my left titty and a pack of blueberry cigarettes that you are an Aphrodite Woman.

Her energy may be latent within you.

Maybe you’ve kept her locked inside, terrified that if she comes out you’ll be outcast and left with no love or support.

But if in your heart of hearts, you are a creative, sensual, warm, magnetic, passionate, social, vibrant woman… then Aphrodite is your girl.

And the Aphrodite Woman can’t play by Hera’s rules.

She will always choose to follow her heart, even if every bone in her body is telling her to make a sensible choice.

How Aphrodite dates + relates🩷

Aphrodite is the one and only Alchemical Goddess…

She is the only Goddess who was able to have relationships with men without losing her independence, spirit, and sovereignty. She retained her warmth and loving nature without losing sight of her own autonomy and desires. Aphrodite loves love and because of that she has done the work to become a skilled lover, girlfriend, and wife.

She feels empowered in her relationships because she only stays in places where she is fully chosen and respected.

She is the essence of love herself. It follows her wherever she goes. She doesn’t need to find a King… she can kiss a frog and turn him into one (not that she would waste her time doing so)

And if we’re being honest…

The King is too serious for the Aphrodite Woman. Unless she’s got a strong Hera in her psyche, or this particular king is her soulmate, she will feel like something is missing.

The Aphrodite woman is genuine. There are no games, no rules, no pretence. She lives in alignment with her heart. Last minute ice cream date? If she’s craving ice cream and you’re good company she’ll say yes. A fancy dinner scheduled 3 weeks from now? Ermmmm…. she’s not even sure if she’ll be in the country then, but if she is… absolutely!

The Aphrodite woman lives life on a whim. She follows her heart, her desires, and the path of aliveness.

She doesn’t like to have too many plans or obligations that tie her down because her creativity is fuelled by her freedom.

She is a muse.

A creative woman with a heart of gold.

She laughs and loves easily and isn’t the kind of woman you have to worry about offending…

but she’s not easy either.

She’s seeking a genuine heart connection. Avoidant and emotionally unavailable men need not apply, now matter how much money they’ve got in the bank.

Oh, so you’re Jacob Elordi?

That truly doesn’t impress her much.

The Aphrodite woman is impressed by passion, authenticity, emotional depth, and having a good heart.

She will laugh at your jokes.

Go on a week long trip to Ibiza with you.

The key piece here is that the Aphrodite Woman doesn’t follow anybody else’s rules. She’s not listening to dating gurus or her best friend or even her grandma’s sage wisdom. She is turning towards herself and asking: “What do I want to do here?”

Imagine trusting yourself so much that you can let all of the rules fade away and just be fully present with the person in front of you.

We’ve been taught that becoming confident, independent, and self-centred as a woman is a ticket to becoming lonely and off-putting. But truthfully, there’s nobody more terrifying and scary to be around than an insecure, destabilized person.

A woman who doesn’t know her worth has to play games to get her needs met.

She has to manipulate the world around her.

She isn’t trustworthy, even in her kindest moments.

A woman who isn’t self-possessed is a woman who’s very hard to be around.

This is the year that we let her go so we can become the most radiant and badass version of ourselves: the self-possessed woman.

Here’s the invitation: a heart-led life

Leo is the sign of heart expansion, so in order to be in the highest timeline of this transit, you’re going to need to look at all of the ways that you dim the brightness of your heart.

so let me start with: I absolutely do not think women are wrong for modifying, optimizing, or enhancing their beauty through modern beauty procedures. Before you come over here and bean soup my comments, I am a woman who deeply believes in empowerment, sovereignty, and the right to make our own decisions for our lives.

And I’m also a hella detached Aquarius Moon… so I don’t really care what anybody else is doing with their time, money, and energy.

I wouldn’t even be sharing my thoughts on this whole thing if I hadn’t noticed a pattern: The loudest women in the beauty and wellness spaces are polarizing. They’re either super FOR all of the modern beauty enhancers or vehemently against it.

I’m gonna share my opinions and what’s working for me as a woman who loves beauty, wellness, and the ritual of getting hotter and hotter by the year BUT who’s also pretty committed to aging gracefully and never losing connection with my natural essence.

OK let’s get into it, this might be a wild ride if you’re new to me and my work but I’ll hold your hand the entire way

You can look perfect or you can be a woman with a juicy, radiant aura. You can’t do both.

As women we have been taught the art of the performance. Sit up straight, tame your hair, fix your crooked teeth, cover every single spot on your face.

But truthfully, the most erotic and attractive people on the planet are happy to be in their own skin. They aren’t constantly self-monitoring and the definitely aren’t worried when their body looks like a human, organic body.

A lot of times we are pushed to optimize our beauty towards perfection and the golden ratio but perfection can actually make you incredibly boring and dull.

I think about the story of Jennifer Grey a lot. She was the main character in Dirty Dancing and she was told by her mother and 3 plastic surgeons that she should “fix her nose.” She became unrecognizable and it almost tanked her career. Her “distinct” nose that was supposedly holding her back in Hollywood was actually the thing that made her stand out.

Your natural beauty is what sets you apart. And learning to accept, embrace, and enhance your goddess given beauty is one of the most powerful initiations a woman can experience.

Dating losers will make you ugly.

The stress, drama, and heartbreak of spending most of your intimate time with any person who is a loser (aka unkind to you) isn’t worthy any of the so called “benefits” you get from any orgasm, even the earth shattering ones.

Sex, pleasure, and oxytocin are naturally beauty elixirs for women. But we have to be mindful of the crash that comes after when you feel dropped, confused, or unsure of where you stand. The world is already cruel enough, why add extra stress and confusion to your life by dating a person who’s nonchalant about you?

The most radiant women are surrounded by people who adore them.

Hooking up with people who love, adore, and worship you is the key to activating your own natural beauty. Have you ever noticed how happy + beautiful you feel when you’re in the honeymoon phase of a new relationship? This is usually because you’re oxytocin basking and this person is treating you with kindness, respect, and intention. If beauty is important to you these qualities need to become the standard for who you allow into your life.

Your beauty is a reflection of your inner world.

Now don’t misunderstand me when I say this: I’m not saying that beautiful people are kinder, better, or more pure in any way. What I’m saying is that you have a natural baseline of your own beauty and your internal world gets reflected outwardly.

Your anxiety, stress, hatred, anger, and rage will show on your face and in your body. When you learn to prioritize inner peace you’ll notice that you develop a natural glow. This is worth more than any beauty serum you could buy.

The closer to God, the more beauty emanates from you.

Have you ever met somebody who just had it?

They maybe weren’t the most conventionally attractive person in the room, but their aura kept the entire room enthralled?

I’ve noticed that when people begin to connect to the divine they become visibly and energetically brighter. It as though there’s more space in the body for the soul to fit. They are luminescent, radiant, glowing like a little angel.

We’re sold radiance serums and peptide stacks when really all we need to do is conversing with the divine daily.

Ok that’s all I’m gonna share on this topic for now but there’s a lot more where this comes from. I’ve been beauty obsessed since I literally popped outta the womb 🌺🍋‍🟩🐆 but I also refuse to conform to the impossible standards that have been placed on us as women.

I just refuse to adopt the narrative that play is for children + young adults only.

When I was 20 I was miserable and it showed. No amount of dream matte mousse could hide my anxiety and lack of connection to my own heart.

I was such a creative, playful, effervescent girl but all of that was buried under mountains of lingering responsibilities, fears of the uncertain future, and worries about what other people thought of me.

I wanted to be a writer but I was studying psychology and praying academia would be a ticket out of my hometown. I worked 2 jobs and went to school full time and watched as my incessant hunger to be creative kept threatening to disrupt my entire life.

I literally almost got fired from a summer waitressing job because I was dilly dallying so much!! and the reason I was dilly dallying was because I was going through a breakup and song lyrics just kept popping into my head. I’d repeat them over and over in my mind because I wanted to write them down when I got home. I was creatively on fire, had zero time for it, and in return was very very anxious and constantly disassociating🤠🤠

Looking back it kinda feels like I was trapped inside myself. I blamed a lot of my sadness on my then-boyfriend and how stressful school was but truthfully.. I was unexpressed.

And the weight of an unexpressed life is an absolute nightmare.

It wasn’t until I started to make creativity a daily practice that I started to feel like my vibrant, juicy, magnetic, happy self.

When I write, my shoulders relax and my tension goes away.

When I paint, I find a sense of inner calm that stays with me for days. Or I get deeply frustrated and pissed off, but either way I feel alive!!

Dancing keeps depression far far away from me. I literally cannot be sad while I’m shaking my ass.

And most importantly, the creative work of building and sustaining a business has done more for my radiance than any facial ever could.

Creativity is my favourite beauty secret.

3 Signs your soul is aching to CREATE —

1. You’re picking fights over things that never used to bother you.

   Your husbands’ socks, your moms’ dry texts, the fact that your best friend has another best friend. When we are unfulfilled in our creative destiny we start making mountains out of mole hills and generally being the least fun person at every party. This is because the human psyche is powerful beyond measure: you are a creator AND a destroyer. If you aren’t creating something, your subconscious will find something to destroy.

2. You feel lost, confused, and like something is missing. Maybe you have your dream life but something feels… off. The souls yearning to create can manifest as a deep void, a loneliness that feels overwhelming. To connect to the creative instinct is to remind yourself that you are alive again. Without it we feel bored, restless, and disconnected from our highest self.

3. You’re kinda jealous of people who get to be creative for a living. Content creators, artists, dancers, poets, musicians, etc. There’s something about being able to follow your inspiration and live without limits, routines, and structure that deeply appeals to you. This is because you are an artist, and you’ve been stifling this instinct. Whenever we’re jealous of someone else its a key sign that they are embodying something we have denied ourselves.

What if everything we’ve been taught about Saturn is wrong?

What if Saturn has been trying to teach us something and we’ve missed the mark entirely?

Let’s go back in time and space for a sec.

One of the oldest surviving astrological texts is the Carmen Astrologicum written by Dorotheus of Sidon in the 1st Century AD. In this text it is said that there are 3 Feminine Planets: Venus, the Moon, and Saturn. This maps out with what we know about the three phases of the feminine and the maiden, mother, and crone aspects of the triple moon goddess. Venus as the Maiden, the Moon as Mother, and Saturn as the Crone.

In the world of astrology we look for synchronicity and patterns to be able to understand the true roots of a planet, archetype, or myth.

Here are some interesting correlations that could potentially speak to the Saturn-Feminine connection:

• The moon’s orbit takes 29.5 days and Saturns takes 29.5 years.

• Saturn has connections to the word Matter which comes from the Latin ‘Mater’ which means Mother. Is it possible that Saturn is actually the gatekeeper of life? The Guardian of the Mother?

• In pre-patriarchal Europe Saturnalia was celebrated as the ‘dark womb of the solstice’

• Capricorn, the sign most associated with Saturn, is associated with intuition, magic, and the dark yin qualities of the Earth. In Capricorn’s Sea-Goat form she’s a psychic, seer, and witch.

• Cybele, the Anatolian Mother Goddess known as ‘Great Mother’, was assimilated into Roman Mythology and became associated with Saturns Wife and Consort, Rhea. Is it possible that this story hides clues to how the Great Mother became subjugated by the Patriarchy?

• The myth of Kronos swallowing his children and regurgitating them could point to a hijacking of the primary parental figure shifting from Mother to Father

It’s important to keep in mind that we don’t really know the roots of Saturn— we’ve lost connection with ancient astrological texts and so much of what we have been taught about the Goddess has been repressed and pushed underground.

When it comes to mysteries like this one I like to look to the reality of my real world experience, to look for modern day clues of what is correct. So let’s do this together. I’m going to ask you a few questions and I want you to sit with what feels true for you. There are no wrong answers here!

1. In your family, who created order, structure, and safety?

2. Who taught you about consequences? Who was the disciplinarian?

3. Who held the long memory of the family? Who in your life is the keeper of history, grief, and ancestral experiences?

4. Who managed time, schedules, and the architecture of daily life?

5. Who is harder on you the men or women in your life? Who holds you to a higher standard?

Ok now lets look at this through the lens of masculine and feminine dynamics in relationships..

1. Who tends to be the one pushing for commitment, timelines, "where is this going"?

2. Who’s most likely to initiate a divorce or breakup?

3. Who is most likely to say "the relationship made me a better person?”

Ok, we need to talk about Saturn as Daddy…

There will likely never be a time when I see Saturn as a purely feminine force. The weight of Saturn on the psyche of Men is huge. And whether that’s because of patriarchal conditioning or its part of the masculine psychological structure, the pain is intense.

I know a lot of great men and there are a few things they they seem to all have in common:

They feel as though they have to be useful in order to be loved.

They put all of their self worth in the “I did a good job” basket

They hold burdens that they never speak up about

They feel solely responsible for their families health and well-being

They have a hard time relaxing

I can't help but to wonder if this is because they’re trying to do the work of the Matriarch, a job that requires a completely different orientation and social position. In the absence of wise elders, strong grandmothers, and a societal system that places women at the top of the wisdom hierarchy, men are trying to do take on a task that was never designed for them in the first place.

I can imagine that a woman who has been initiated by the Dark Moon Goddess and who has a strong access to her inner oracle would have a much easier time looking ahead and creating a plan for the success and longevity of her entire family.

Men are not relationally wired in the same way women are and yet we place the task of managing, leading, guiding, and holding everybody together upon their shoulders.

Maybe the problem is that men are designed for power, strength, and stamina. Not necessarily rituals, routine, and detail orientation.

I can’t help but to wonder what the reason for this shift from Saturn as feminine to Saturn as masculine has meant for society. During a time when the Goddess was going into the underworld and disappearing from sight, society needed a new authority figure to orient themselves around. The role of the Matriarch got passed down to the Father and he’s been struggling under its weight ever since.

Uranus stations Direct at 27 Degrees of Taurus on February 4th, 2026. This degree is where Gate 8 in Human Design resides and it is also the Sabian symbol for ‘wisdom from an elder.’ As Uranus stations Direct he’s in a sextile with Saturn and Neptune and square Venus, Mercury, and asteroid Magdalena (#1388). The last time Uranus was at 27 Degrees of Taurus was in August of 2024 so think back to the summer of ‘24 and ask yourself: who was I then? and how have I changed?

Uranus has been retrograde since September 6th 2025. These past 5 months have been teaching us the art of patience, of nuance, and of slowing down and turning inwards towards the self. My absolute favourite way to explore archetypes and mythology is through modern retellings so when I saw that Emily Wilson wrote a series that dives into the descent of Inanna and the Epic of Gilgamesh, I literally couldn’t get my hands on it fast enough. I’ve noticed that Goddesses of Magic, Death, and Feminine Rage seem to be the most popular goddesses chosen for retellings and while I love stories of Medusa, Lilith, and Persephone, I’ve been craving to dance through the realms of beauty, love, and truth with Aphrodite.

The thing about Goddesses of Love is that they are almost always Goddesses of War as well. Aphrodite, Inanna, Ishtar, Astarte, Venus, Freya, Hathor, and on and on. Modern Aphrodite has been stripped from her warrior origins but it’s important to remember that she was favoured by the Spartans for a reason. Inanna is centred around this duality, the challenge of being a beacon of Love and a force for destruction. Most Aphrodite women can relate to this challenge — to the difficulty of integrating the two and becoming the ultimate peace-maker. An Aphrodite woman is a woman who is so loving and kind that it knocks you off your feet while also being so rooted in her Truth that you know better than to piss her off.

Anyways, back to Inanna and her descent into the Underworld.

The story follows three prominent figures in Sumerian Mythology: Inanna, Gilgamesh, and Ninshubar. At the beginning of the book I was annoyed by the constant switching of perspectives, wanting to connect with Inanna more. But by the end of the book I found myself falling in love with Ninshubar and Gilgamesh. During the last half of the book I found their journeys way more compelling than Inanna’s and was speed-reading through her boring ass inner thoughts.

I wanted to love Inanna’s character and there were glimmers of the Aphrodite essence here, but overall I found her to be a lacklustre version of herself. This Inanna was lacking passion, lacking charisma, and wholly disconnected from her fierceness. I found myself bored with her and wishing she would just… be curious about something, passionate about something, desiring of ANYTHING. I know that this was purposeful and drove the plot forward but it was also a little bit disappointing. I wanted to be brought into Inanna’s world, a world where love and beauty are just as powerful as war and destruction. So far, this story isn’t that story. Although it could change in book two, I’ll let you know.

So why is this book being added to the Temple Library?

And why do I recommend that you might read it?

Because most women aren’t connected to their sensuality, sovereignty, and power. The most magnetic, charismatic, and holy women I know are usually so afraid of their power that they keep themselves small and submissive, just like Inanna in this book. When a woman holds duality within her and feels as though she has to choose (and is programmed from a young age to choose one over the other) then she becomes a shell of herself. Even a Goddess isn’t immune to familial conditioning and the pull of the social nervous system. You might see yourself in Inanna — the way she does what she believes is right even if it hurts her. The way she goes with the flow, even in the presence of people who aren’t connected to Truth or Integrity. You might even see yourself reflected in her lack of belief in her own power and worthiness, despite being universally loved and adored.

Inanna is a journey from Maiden to Lover.

This is a story of a woman reclaiming her desires, her emotions, and her rage.

Inanna is a cautionary tale for every woman who chooses what is expected of her instead of developing a rich and intimate relationship with her own heart.

What I loved about this book (spoilers ahead!) —

1. The relationship between Gilgamesh and Enkidu was heartwarming and devastating. The bond between them was so strong and I enjoyed seeing how Gilgamesh matured through his love for Enkidu. This retelling takes a lot of liberties and veers pretty far away from the Epic of Gilgamesh, but I’m trusting that there’s a good reason for that and will make more sense in book 2.

2. Ninshubar is incredible. Intuitive, powerful, magnetic, confident. Her love and care for the people around her is a reminder that some of the fiercest protectors you will ever meet are women.

3. I loved that Inanna’s struggles were made worse by her own decisions because this mirrors the path of the Aphrodite Woman. You see that when she decides to help herself that the whole universe arranges to support her. She is so deeply protected by the Divine and the only thing holding her back from her power was herself. I also loved seeing how deeply connected she is to all beings and her lack of desire to be in a rush. These were the glimmers of the Aphrodite archetype that I was hoping to see more of.

What was lacking for me:

1. I’d have loved for the chapter on Inannas Descent into the Underworld to have been richer and deeper. This is a really important part of Inanna’s myth and story and it felt rushed and skipped over. In this retelling Inanna is a victim of her sister’s psychotic breakdown (I mean… relatable haha) but the original story was much more complex and nuanced.

2. Certain parts of the story felt slow and half-baked. There were lots of side quests that will probably make sense as I read the rest of the series, but they felt out of place and pulled me out of the story.

3. A lack of magic. I was expecting more numinous and magical experiences to be interwoven into the story. They are immortal Gods with powers after all. I understand the choice to humanize them but I personally would have loved to see more whimsy and fantasy.

Overall I would rate this story a 2.5/5.

This could be a powerful read for you if you relate to any of the following:

• You desire to learn more about the Descent of Inanna but find reading ancient texts intimidating and boring.

• You have a tendency to go with the flow, even when the flow hurts you

• You know you are powerful but you’ve been conditioned to be quiet, submissive, serious

• You enjoy stories of independent, confident women who overcome all obstacles and get a happy ending (you’ll adore Ninshubar)

• You have buried your rage beneath years of Good Girl Programming

On January 6th 2026 we have our first Venus Starpoint of the year. You can see the chart of this event here. In modern astrology this is often referred to as a Venus Cazimi. A Cazimi is when the Sun kisses another planet, when they come into the same degree and the suns rays envelop the planet. This Cazimi/Starpoint/Conjunction will occur at 16 degrees of Capricorn and will bring Mars into the mix, as he’s sitting at 17 degrees of Capricorn. This Venus-Sun conjunction marks the end of our Morning Star Venus period and the initiation of Venus’ descent into the underworld where she will rise as an evening star, becoming visible on February 16th.

So what does this mean for us? Let’s break it down little by little first.

The Evening Star Venus is tender. She’s sweet. She reflects all of the qualities that Venus is most known for: she’s loving, she’s attuned, and she’s deeply emotional. As Venus begins her descent into the underworld, we are confronted with the creatures that live within our own subconscious minds. Our relationships become top priority and we begin to notice how connected (or not) we are to those around us. The dark moon Goddesses come alive within us at this time and we may be drawn to learning more about figures who have survived a descent into the underworld. Persephone, Psyche, Inanna, Hecate, they all call to us during this time.

The VSP in Capricorn reminds us to find balance between duty and belonging. Those of you born under the VSP in Capricorn are responsible in matters of the heart. You are ancient and your souls are wise. From now until our next Scorpio Venus Starpoint on October 24th, we are floating in the waters of the sea goat. We are learning the art of discernment and how to move towards our goals and ambitions without losing connection to our hearts. We are being drawn backwards to the wisdom of our ancestors and are being asked to discover where we’ve moved on too quickly. I would imagine that a lot of relationships come under review during this time: do I want to stay? is this working for me? Is this working for us? Capricorn reminds us to slow down so it’s possible we will collectively be drawn to living a more analog, off-grid life for the next 10 months. Granny hobbies + homesteading are bound to make it into the trend cycle during this time. The Capricorn VSP is urging us to become adults, to step outside of our immature patterns and to begin the descent towards the Matriarch within.

Not only is the Sun conjunct Venus, but Mars is involved in this little tango as well. Whatever the Sun touches is illuminated collectively, marking this as the beginning of a 10 month period where we are called to heal the relationship between our inner masculine and inner feminine. This will set us up for deeper intimacy and better relationships during the Scorpio VSP period. We have an opportunity now — to heal the divide between men and women or to continue to perpetuate the wounds that are keeping us from loving each other.

Unfortunately most of us will encounter parents, siblings, teachers, friends, and even romantic partners who try to pull us away from this essence. It’s not always personal. Usually they simply can’t stomach being in the presence of a fully sovereign and embodied person because it reminds them of all of the parts they’ve denied in order to fit in and belong.

You can choose to follow suit — to become embodied in the role that was chosen for you, or you can choose a new path. Maybe in your family you’re the invisible child and you’ve learned to make your needs and desires as small as possible. Or maybe you’re the angry eldest daughter destined to become the controlling nagging wife. The roles that get chosen for us have a powerful pull and there are many names for them — the hero, the mascot, the caretaker, the scapegoat, the black sheep, the victim, the cheerleader, and on and on. These roles are rooted in dysfunction and if we accept them, they keep us away from our souls essence.

You can follow the path that’s been laid out for you or you can choose to connect to your heart and to follow where it leads you.

Choosing to bask in your soul’s essence is a warriors journey.

It begins with contemplation and a willingness to be honest with yourself.

Do I like this role?

Do I like being this person that I’ve been assigned to be?

Does this fill me with energy, with joy, with vitality, and with spirit?

Am I willing to sacrifice a relationship with my own soul in order to stay connected to people who are disconnected from theirs?

For me, personally, the answer was no. Absolutely not.

When I was a little girl I knew that I wanted to grow up to be beautiful, graceful, and full of wisdom. I had visions of my elder self: a woman with long hair, a garden full of roses, and whom had a soft and peaceful life.
