The Promise

Trump promised to “take care of everybody.” Today he signed a vaccine order that even a Republican doctor says will make children less safe.

And by “less safe,” he means kill them.

Before Donald Trump turned American health policy over to Robert F. Kennedy Jr., he made one of the biggest healthcare promises imaginable.

In 2015, Trump sounded remarkably close to promising universal healthcare.

Trump: Everybody’s got to be covered.

He went further, saying he would protect people who could not afford coverage.

Trump: The government’s gonna pay for it.

Then, shortly before taking office in 2017, Trump promised “insurance for everybody” and said Americans could expect better coverage with lower deductibles.

Those were extraordinary promises.

Look at what he actually delivered.

Beginning the Betrayal

Trump spent years trying to dismantle the Affordable Care Act. Then he returned to office promising again that Americans would get cheaper, better healthcare and insisting that Medicaid and Medicare would be protected.

Instead, Trump signed his massive 2025 spending law containing enormous Medicaid reductions. The Congressional Budget Office estimated its Medicaid provisions alone would leave roughly 7.5 million additional people uninsured by 2034.

Medicaid covers children, pregnant women, disabled Americans, low income families and millions of seniors who need long term care.

Trump’s administration also ripped through the federal health infrastructure.

HHS announced plans in 2025 to eliminate about 10,000 jobs through layoffs as part of a restructuring that would shrink its workforce from roughly 82,000 to 62,000 when combined with other departures.

His administration canceled hundreds of millions of dollars in mRNA vaccine development projects.

Then Trump pulled the United States out of the World Health Organization. The withdrawal was completed in January 2026 after the United States stopped WHO funding and withdrew American personnel.

And now we have reached something even more disturbing.

Trump is personally meddling with the childhood vaccine schedule.

Today’s Atrocity

Today, August 10, Trump signed an executive order calling for children to receive vaccines across more appointments and pushing for the MMR vaccine to be broken into separate measles, mumps and rubella shots.

Separate doses are not currently available in the United States. Medical organizations do not recommend Trump’s approach. There is no scientific evidence that splitting MMR this way makes children safer.

Trump explained his medical reasoning from the Oval Office.

Trump: Large amounts of vaccine, large amounts of, like vats, of vaccine are currently pumped into your child’s body.

He compared the amount to “the size of a bottle of soda.”

That is the President of the United States describing childhood immunization.

Trump also suggested MMR can be “quite lethal.”

The scientific evidence says otherwise. WHO reviewed 31 studies published between 2010 and 2025 and concluded again that there is no causal relationship between vaccines and autism.

Republican Pushback

Even Republican Sen. Bill Cassidy, a physician who voted to confirm Kennedy, immediately condemned Trump.

Cassidy: This executive order is wrong. The President does not have the expertise to make these changes.

Then Cassidy explained the practical consequence.

Cassidy: Breaking up vaccines will mean children have to get more shots to get the same protection, not fewer shots.

His conclusion was devastatingly simple: it will “make children less safe.”

Trump’s order also weakens routine recommendations for several other immunizations and pushes states to change their own requirements.

The Consequence

Here’s what Trump just invited into your kid’s bodies by delaying immunization:

Consider hepatitis B.

About 90% of infants who become infected with hepatitis B develop chronic infection. That can follow them for life and eventually cause severe liver disease and liver cancer.

Vaccines exist because generations before us already learned what happens without them.

Measles can cause pneumonia, brain inflammation and death. Rubella during pregnancy can cause miscarriage and devastating congenital abnormalities. Polio can cause paralysis.

Routine childhood vaccination has prevented disease on a scale that is almost difficult to comprehend. WHO estimates childhood immunization has saved at least 154 million lives globally over the past 50 years.

Yet Trump stood beside RFK Jr. today and announced:

Trump: Nothing bad can happen from what we’re doing.

Nobody practicing evidence based medicine can promise that.

If vaccination rates fall, preventable diseases get more opportunities to spread. Making parents schedule additional appointments also creates more opportunities for children to miss doses. The administration is pushing these changes while the country is already dealing with declining vaccination rates and measles outbreaks.

And Trump finished the ceremony by saying he was “very happy to sign it.”

Americans were promised better healthcare.

They deserve leaders who understand that a child’s immune system is not a political prop. They deserve Medicaid when they get sick, scientists researching the next pandemic, functioning public health agencies and vaccine recommendations written by people who have actually spent their lives studying vaccines.

We know how to stop measles.

We know how to prevent polio.

We know vaccines do not cause autism.

Science did the work.

Previous generations paid the price that taught us these lessons.

We do not have to volunteer our children to learn them again.

Fighting Back

Keep pushing.

Keep fighting for doctors, researchers and evidence based medicine.

Remove politicians who think their personal hunches deserve more authority than decades of medical research.

The Blatant, Disgusting, Racist Misinformation

It all started with this:
The New York Post, owned by Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp, splashed a giant front-page headline claiming: “Thousands of 9/11 families demand Mamdani be banned from 25th-Anniversary.” Then, Fox News, also owned by News Corp, amplified it.

Then it was Fox News Lite’s turn.

CBS News New York reported that “Thousands of 9/11 victims’ families are asking New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani not to attend this year’s solemn remembrance ceremony.”

What a sensational story! And convenient!

It not only paints popular Democrat Zohran Mamdani as the perfect villain to nationally-adored heroes, but it just so happens to leave an impression on the reader that helps Trump.

Trump much prefers for Americans to hear a story about a Democrat being in trouble with real patriots, rather than stories like Mamdani delivering on Trump’s promise to bring grocery bills down, like Mamdani did in the story we brought you earlier today.

Just one problem with this 9/11 families story. It wasn’t true.

And any real journalist would’ve known it.

Real journalists don’t copy/paste. They verify. It’s their job.

Cue real journalist.

Independent Media Does The Corporate Media’s Job

Judd Legum was suspicious. So he went straight to the source.

He interviewed the petition organizer himself. That’s when the story fell apart.

In the interview, organizer Giovanni Galante admitted there was no verified list showing that hundreds of 9/11 family members had signed the petition.

In an interview with Popular Information, Galante acknowledged that there was no actual list of family members who had signed the petition. “We don’t have a list,” Galante said. Rather, the 300 figure that organizers shared with the New York Post was an estimate based on how they believe the petition spread before it received much publicity. “We all know each other, so…think about it. If you know 10 people and they give it to 10 more people they know that lost. That’s how we got the 300 number,” Galante explained. “I don’t go through the list and look at the names.”

That single interview exposed the gap between the headlines and reality.

Who is Galante, by the way? Just an unbiased, pure-hearted American dedicated to objective facts… right?

Legum asked questions, and exposed the truth.

Galante also provided more detail on his motivation for starting the petition. In the interview, Galante described Mamdani as “a Muslim that has thoughts to get rid of all Jewish people, and to agree with 9/11.” At another point in the interview, Galante claimed Mamdani “believes 9/11 should have happened to us.” (Mamdani has called suggestions that America deserved to be attacked on 9/11 “objectionable and reprehensible.”)

Galante is a registered Republican who donated $250 to Donald Trump’s presidential campaign in 2019.

Popular Information then contacted CBS News New York.

After that inquiry, Judd reported that CBS changed its story.

By Monday evening, the story had hit CBS News New York. “Thousands of 9/11 victims' families are asking New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani not to attend this year's solemn remembrance ceremony,” the network reported. After Popular Information reached out for comment, that line was removed. A revised article on the CBS website says the petition has “purportedly drawn thousands of signatures, including some victims' families.”

Mission accomplished. The record is now set straight.

Still, notice one thing: No apology. No retraction. Just quietly covering their asses, likely for liability, while Bari Weiss oversees CBS News as editor in chief.

But the attack on the truth can’t be undone. It’s up to us to get it out.

8. Trump’s Reflecting Pool Case Collapses

Trump & Jeanine Pirro just had their reflecting pool case SUNK before they could even launch it.

A key grand jury witness in the case against former Olympic canoeist David “Davey” Hearn testified that the Reflecting Pool was already damaged before Hearn ever touched it, and would’ve needed repairs regardless.

This will completely destroy Trump’s case against Hearn before it even starts.

Worse for Trump and his maniacal sycophant Jeanine Pirro, this testimony will stand as precedent for three other people charged with the same “crime.”

Trump’s entire narrative gone, just like that… and the trial hadn’t even started yet.

Humiliating for him and Pirro, adding another historic failure to their list of failed prosecutions. Although many law professors say that grand juries have such a low bar for indictment that they’d indict a ham sandwich, apparently Pirro doesn’t have the same golden touch.

Judge Zia Faruqui, a former federal prosecutor, said of her and her office:

“It’s not fair to say they’re losing credibility. We’re past that now… There’s no credibility left.”

But failing to cover for his Reflecting Pool disaster is just the beginning of Trump’s week of hell.

The next Karma hit comes from a judge. This one could ultimately cost Trump his freedom.

I didn’t expect a two-page court order to make my week before Monday is even over, but here we are. A stunning new blow just hit Trump and Blanche in ’s brilliant lawsuit to hold the two of them accountable to Epstein survivors.

Todd Blanche just got told by a federal judge, in writing, that Blanche’s word means nothing anymore, and the way it happened may blow up both his nomination and Trump’s personal liability.

The Judge’s Power Move

Blanche thought he could keep hiding names in the Epstein files behind vague “victim protection” claims forever – the same move DOJ has been running for months while stonewalling Congress and reporters.

But Judge Emmet Sullivan had other plans: PROOF.

Proof, for those who don’t know the Trump DOJ’s usual playbook, is not something they’re used to bringing. Normally a sworn filing is enough. Not this time.

Here’s what Sullivan is making Blanche show up with, in chambers, by 3 p.m. this Thursday, July 30:

1. Eight specific unredacted Epstein emails.

2. Documentation and corroboration proving every one of those blacked-out names actually belongs to a protected victim.

3. All of it, in person, for the judge’s private review.

No more just saying it. And now Blanche himself is the one on defense.

That alone should be terrifying for any DOJ lawyer. Sullivan already ruled, a month ago in this same case, that Blanche effectively conceded to violating the law. His credibility is already in the hole.

But it gets even better.

Using His Own Cover Story Against Him

Of those eight emails, Blanche is calling six of them communications from victims. Except several of them read like someone cataloguing girls for Epstein, not describing their own abuse. This is including one where the sender casually tells Epstein his “littlest girl was a little naughty.”

In the other two emails, he doesn’t even try calling victims. He leans on the Privacy Act instead, a law that, per Phang, doesn’t have an exemption written into the actual Epstein Files Transparency Act.

One of those two is the “torture video” email, whose recipient a member of Congress has already named in public.

This gives Blanche a few choices:

• convince a federal judge that a man calling himself a “sexual pervert” while fixating on a girl’s age is somehow the protected victim, or

• admit his own redactions have been hiding the wrong people the whole time.

The judge cornered Blanche, and cornered him GOOD.

Blanche’s BS is all but dead in the water… right before his nomination for fulltime AG gets a vote. And why?

The Lesson Every Cover-Up Should Learn

Here’s the thing nobody talks about enough.

DOJ’s whole playbook under Trump has been built on the assumption that nobody checks.

Say it’s a victim. Say it’s private. Say it’s too hard to redact. Move on.

Judge Sullivan isn’t a cable news reader who lets that slide. He’s not weighing PR risk. He has the documents, he has the authority to review them in his own chambers, and he has a paper trail already showing DOJ conceded once.

This is how you catch a liar:

You don’t accept the filing of liars. You don’t take the word for it.

You say, “Wonderful, now bring me the proof, in person, by Thursday at 3. Or face consequences.”

Contempt. Losing your nomination. And being exposed for prosecution yourself.

Helping Expose Trump Himself

Here’s the worst part for them. Phang says Blanche is also sitting on handwritten FBI notes behind an allegation that Trump himself sexually abused and physically beat a woman. His excuse is that handwriting, somehow, is harder to redact than typed text.

Sullivan hasn’t ordered that one turned over yet. But the pattern in this order, a judge who no longer trusts DOJ’s word and starts demanding they prove it, is exactly the pattern that gets that material forced into daylight eventually.

Blanche can and WILL run out of excuses eventually.

He will no longer be able to protect Trump.

SCOTUS has already ruled that Trump’s behavior outside the presidency is not protected.

The Epstein Transparency Act is WORKING – to catch the alleged predators in the Epstein Files, going all the way to the top.

This is the energy. This is the template. Every reporter Trump’s DOJ has stonewalled should be watching this case with a notepad.

Kentucky just told the Trump DOJ no. His own federal judge backed them up.

This is the template EVERY state must follow.

Judge Claria Horn Boom tossed the lawsuit against Secretary of State Michael Adams and the Kentucky State Board of Elections on Thursday. The government wanted the state’s full voter roll. Every name, every address, every driver’s license number, the last four of every social security number, for every registered voter in Kentucky.

The judge tried over and over again to ask Trump’s goons why he wanted the voter rolls so badly. Her conclusion: they refused to say.

Three separate letters to Kentucky, and Boom found “the United States cannot point to a written demand that contains both the basis and purpose for the request.”

That’s legal speak for: “You don’t get to just ask.”

She uses the world “fail” over and over again to describe Trump team arguments. She points to his failure in other cases, and says he fails again.

Fail. Fail. Fail.

His Own Judge

Worth sitting with who wrote this opinion. Boom is a Trump appointee, from his first term. Not exactly the “activist judge” villain Fox wants for this story.

Nobody in this administration has ever given a straight answer for why they need this data. Not a targeted request. Not tied to a specific investigation. Just everyone’s file, in every state, indefinitely.

That’s because “We want to try and steal the next election” doesn’t look great on court filing.

Seventeen states down. Thirteen still fighting.

To the judges still holding those cases: keep going.

Even Trump’s judges are turning against him.

The BBC’s Nuclear Blow

Trump filed this lawsuit in December 2025, claiming the BBC defamed him by editing his January 6 speech. He thought they’d fold like everyone else.

Disney paid $15 million. Paramount paid $16 million. Meta wrote a $22 million check.

Not this time. It completely backfired.

Because the BBC understood something the American companies didn’t: when Trump sues you, he hands you a weapon. It’s called discovery.

And what the BBC’s lawyers just got a federal judge to authorize is extraordinary:

• Financial records across more than 400 companies in Trump’s family trust

• Full scrutiny of his brand, his properties, his business dealings

• His conduct on January 6 and how his words were received

All of it.

A federal judge looked at Trump’s $10 billion complaint — which claimed the BBC damaged his brand, his properties, his businesses, his reputation — and said: wonderful, then let’s get it all out in the open.

You wanted this, Donald. It’s called Karma. And it’s all yours.

The Guts American Media Couldn’t Find

Here’s the part Disney, Paramount, and Meta can learn from.

Trump’s intimidation playbook only works if cowardly CEOs cave. And they did. Every settlement taught him the same lesson: whine loud enough, and the cash comes flowing in.

Of course, it was a bit harder for them. They want his goons to approve their mergers and do them personal favors. Paying off Trump is profitable.

But for everybody with an ounce of integrity, the BBC gave you a template.

THIS is how you bully a bully – go after not only his money, but his freedom.

Why This Backfire Burns

Here’s what the headlines are missing – why this move is the ultimate punishment Trump could endure.

There’s a reason he seems more protective of his financial records than even his own children. They tend to contain his crimes.

It was falsified business records that made him a convicted felon in the Stormy Daniels case.

It was fraudulent financial documents that showed the Trump Organization inflating assets to secure loans, then deflating them to dodge taxes… resulting in the court ruling to ban the org from doing business in New York.

Now the BBC has a federal court’s permission to go through 400 companies’ worth of that same paper trail.

If you didn’t like the BBC’s work before, Donald, wait ‘til you see what they do with the receipts.

Four hundred companies. Years of financial dealings. All of it documented, submitted, and on the public record…

And when this lawsuit ends, those documents don’t vanish.

Helping Put Trump Behind Bars

Future prosecutors can follow the same threads. Subpoena the same records independently. For Donald Trump, the finances are always where accountability begins. The BBC just turned on the spotlight.

All because Donald Trump decided to pick a fight. He finally met a challenger who immediately threw him on the ropes. And there’s no bell to save him now.

This is the playbook.

This is what fighting back actually looks like.

Every outlet, every platform, every company that ever got a threatening letter from Trump or his MAGA cult should be studying this case and taking the BBC route.

I absolutely love it when reporters actually do their job.

EVERY reporter should follow the lead of these two brave reporters today.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton called a press conference to attack Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico about supposedly not being tough enough on crime. Instead, reporters wanted answers about Paxton.

30 seconds after it was over, he regretted the entire event. Immediately.

Question One

The first question was simple.

“I want ask you about the report in the New York Times about your acquiring properties.”

In other words: How did a public official making $153,000 a year as Texas attorney general end up owning what now appears to be at least 15 properties worth around $9 million?

According to newly reported property records from The New York Times, Paxton, his blind trust and another family trust now own at least 15 properties, in five states, including three luxury Utah condominiums purchased earlier this year for a combined $1.6 million.

From the NY Times:

For several years, Mr. Paxton did not list many of the properties owned by his blind trust on his required state financial statements, saying the disclosure rules were unclear. In 2024, state ethics regulators clarified the rules to require more explicit disclosures of properties owned by blind trusts on annual financial reports filed by elected officials. After that, Mr. Paxton listed interests in eight properties.

The locations were redacted at Mr. Paxton’s request in his disclosures, but local property records showed they spanned six states and range from modest rentals to vacation homes. Ten of the 15 were purchased in the last six years.

Before Paxton could respond, he cut the reporter off.

“Can we keep this to law enforcement?”

At this point, the reporter failed to mention that this, indeed, about law enforcement – enforcing the law against Ken Paxton.

Question Two

“Will you answer a question about why you voted in Collin County? Clear that up?”

Paxton shook his head.

This is about an allegation that Ken Paxton has been voting from the wrong address, despite making election integrity a centerpiece of his political career.

According to reports, Paxton continued voting in Collin County after his wife’s divorce filing stated he had moved out of their shared home, while evidence linked him to a residence in neighboring Denton County.

Three election lawyers told the news organizations that he may have violated the same Texas residency laws his office has aggressively enforced against other voters.

After this question, his aide immediately intervened, insisting they would only take questions about law enforcement.

Moments later, as another reporter tried to ask a question, the aide waved everyone off.

She literally said to the reporters, “We’re going to get out of here. We’re going to get out of here,” and then he took off, leaving the sheriffs he used for props just standing there.

But the damage was done.

Paxton’s press conference called to whip up false accusations against squeaky-clean Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico completely backfired.

Cyclospora Effects

Exactly one year ago, in an unprecedented sacrifice to human health, RFK Jr’s CDC cut the FoodNet program, to explicitly stop tracking Cyclospora and seven other infectious diseases.

A year later, that same parasite, Cyclospora, is ravaging the country.

Cyclosporiasis is an intestinal illness caused by the parasite Cyclospora, which is rising across multiple states. Michigan is at the center of the outbreak, with thousands of reported illnesses, while Ohio, New York, Illinois, Indiana, North Carolina, Texas, and others have also reported increases.

Cyclospora can make you miserable for weeks, or even months, or in rare cases, kill you.

Unlike a typical stomach virus that burns out in a day or two, this parasite often causes worse symptoms, for longer. And they’re flippin’ scary.

The Key to Avoid Catching It

One piece of good news is that Cyclospora does not spread directly from one person to another. People become infected by consuming contaminated food or water, often weeks after the contamination occurred.

Michigan investigators are examining lettuce and salad greens as a possible source of the current outbreak, although they have not identified a specific farm, grower, or supplier.

Based on previous outbreaks and published research, there are several practical steps that reduce your risk.

1. The safest option is cooking fresh produce.

Cyclospora is killed when food reaches an internal temperature of at least 158°F (70°C), according to Rabia de Latour, a leading gastroenterologist at NYU. That obviously isn’t practical for every fruit or vegetable, but it is the most reliable protection.

For foods you eat raw, traditional rinsing and washing helps, although it won’t completely do the job.

Researchers found that rinsing produce under water removes some Cyclospora but not all of it.

The parasite clings stubbornly to leaves and fruit.

A vinegar rinse made with one part vinegar and three parts water removes more than water alone, but even that does not eliminate every organism.

The next step seems extreme, but many experts say it’s necessary.

2. If you’re buying lettuce, experts recommend purchasing whole heads rather than prepackaged salad mixes.

Remove and discard the outer leaves before washing the remaining leaves thoroughly for at least one minute while gently agitating them in clean water.

Skipping the prepackaged mixes is also, of course, a more environmentally friendly choice year round, due to energy savings in processing, and the excess plastic.

Some foods deserve extra caution because they’ve repeatedly been linked to Cyclospora outbreaks over the years:

• Salad mixes

• Basil

• Raspberries

• Cilantro

• Lettuce

• Snow peas

• Fruit trays

3. Safe Swimming

Cyclospora is unusually resistant to chlorine. While Michigan officials say there is currently no evidence connecting this outbreak to swimming pools or splash pads, the parasite has previously been found in recreational water, including chlorinated pools, lakes, and rivers.

If your area experiences an outbreak, limiting exposure to public swimming areas may be a reasonable precaution until more is known. As this is still early in the outbreak, the jury is still out on this as an official recommendation.

4. Get Tested

If you develop diarrhea that lasts longer than 48 hours, infectious disease specialists recommend getting tested.

Routine stool panels often do not include Cyclospora, meaning your healthcare provider may need to specifically request the test. Because the parasite is shed intermittently, multiple stool samples collected over several days may be necessary to confirm the diagnosis.

Once confirmed, your doctor can then advise you on what to do as far as helping avoid spreading the parasite, and treatment.

5. Good News: Treatment

This is not like the early Covid crisis – when Covid had no cure or vaccine, and Trump’s leadership led to 130,000 to 210,000 unnecessary deaths.

Fortunately, effective treatment exists, and most Americans are smart enough now to be skeptical any medical advice from Trump.

The standard therapy is a seven-to-ten-day course of the antibiotic trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole, sold under brand names including Bactrim and Septra.

If anyone steers you toward ivermectin as the miracle cure, per usual, run.

6. Bottom Line

None of this research should have been required.

Public health agencies are supposed to earn our trust by providing timely, evidence-based guidance during outbreaks like this. Until they do, communities are increasingly left sharing reliable information with one another.

So that’s what we’re doing.

Then, we wanted to talk about one surprising aspect: It wasn’t just Republicans he was investigating.

Regardless, Republicans are SEETHING that Jack Smith dared to investigate them.

They’re angry for one reason: he was investigating the effort to overturn the 2020 election.

Republicans are treating this like the scandal is that investigators obtained text messages from members of Congress.

That’s backwards.

The Truth

Jack Smith was appointed to investigate an alleged conspiracy to overturn the certified results of the 2020 presidential election. If members of Congress were communicating with White House officials, Rudy Giuliani, Mark Meadows, John Eastman, or others involved in that effort, those communications were obvious places for investigators to look.

He should look anywhere the trail leads. Yes, even if it’s to Democrats.

While Republicans would NEVER have the courage to say that, our side does. That’s what makes us better – integrity.

But instead, they whine.

Chuck Grassley is demanding Smith testify, claiming he ran a “runaway train.” Rand Paul says Smith “spied” on lawmakers. Ron Johnson calls it “weaponization.”

Their outrage doesn’t change the purpose of the investigation: to find evidence of Trump trying to overthrow an election, then ban him from running for office again, then throw him in prison for it… possibly for life.

End of story.

Doing The Job Right

Smith’s office didn’t simply ignore constitutional protections either. Prosecutors used a filter team to screen potentially privileged material.

That is the opposite of reckless.

Grassley also suggests investigators swept in lawmakers outside the scope of the case.

Nonsense. Investigators routinely collect evidence from people who are not suspects. Witnesses, victims and third parties all have records subpoenaed during criminal investigations. Obtaining communications does not mean someone is accused of a crime.

The Bottom Line MAGA Doesn’t Want To Hear

Republicans keep focusing on how the investigation made them feel.

To borrow a line from our friends on the other side of the aisle, FUCK YOUR FEELINGS.

Jack Smith wasn’t hired to protect politicians from uncomfortable subpoenas.

He was hired to investigate an alleged conspiracy to stop the peaceful transfer of presidential power.

And that is what he did: his job.

Until now, I’ve been happy to show you signs that Trump’s power could soon be crushed by a blue wave in November. After all, the generic ballot has shown Democrats up by 6 points since early spring.

But there’s a dangerous scenario that every DNC-approved pundit in America seems to have settled on: the midterms are a done deal.

As someone who has been working in electoral politics for 25 years, I see this as a dangerous, ignorant message.

So let me show you two important things today.

First, the actual state of the map. Not the vibes – the real races, and the real numbers.

Second, why the very confidence you’re being sold is the single most dangerous thing standing between us and actually removing this man’s power.

I’m going to invite you to look at the full picture, so you can see clear into the future with me. But fair warning: some of it will be ugly.

Here we go.

1. The DC Bubble Ready to Pop

Look at the reason a top Democrat gave for why she sees a clear midterm victory ahead.

Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, Chair of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee for 2026, was asked by Fox News whether Republicans can expand their Senate majority. Her answer:

No chance… I’m very optimistic that with the quality of candidates we have, with the recruiting failures and the poor candidates the Republicans have, and this very harmful climate that President Trump is creating, we have all the makings of a blue wave.

Seriously? “No chance?”

The Senate Democrats’ election leader tells us that Democrats will win because Republicans have “poor candidates.”

Let’s check the record on that.

In the 2024 Senate race, Republicans ran a Florida candidate who oversaw the largest Medicare fraud in history, a Missouri candidate who raised a fist of solidarity to the mob on January 6, and a Texas candidate who responded to a deadly freeze in his own state by fleeing to Cancún.

Poor candidates by any standard. So, how did they do?

They all won. By a lot. Worse, they hold the majority in Congress.

It’s probably worth noting that the poorest candidate in modern history — a sexual abuser known for being a draft-dodging conman who bankrupted four casinos — won the White House. Twice.

Gillibrand’s boast isn’t just wrong. It’s reckless. She’s feeding our side the same 2016-style overconfidence that produced the horror show we’re living in now.

She is doing what many people do that want to end Trump’s reign: looking at the wrong signals, and failing to see the key factors that point to a possible worst-case scenario.

And let me tell you: those key factors have nothing to do with Republican “recruiting failures,” or Trump’s “harmful climate.”

The Real Impact

Before Lindsey Graham’s body was cold, Donald Trump immediately focused on who should replace him.

Trump is moving fast not because he is a putrid, callous sociopath.

Trump is moving this fast because he knows what’s at stake – for himself.

Less informed people – those blindly following the mainstream media narrative – will see the story of Graham’s replacement as simply South Carolina’s business, and dismiss it.

The November Vote

Lindsey Graham chaired the Senate Budget Committee, which was in the middle of forcing through Trump’s voter suppression bill (the SAVE Act) via budget reconciliation.

That’s because the SAVE Act is so awful, it can not overcome the Senate’s long-standing 60-vote-cloture threshold, aka “the filibuster”.

But Trump has other plans. He’s become so enraged at the filibuster blocking his voter-suppression bill, that he is demanding Republicans abolish the filibuster altogether.

Remove the filibuster, and that voter bill needs 51 votes instead of 60.

Who stood in the way of getting that filibuster through?

Lindsey Graham – because Graham was a strong opponent of overturning the filibuster.

Who then, in Trump’s mind, was the key hurdle in the way of passing Trump’s SAVE Act?

Lindsey Graham.

So, here’s the danger that needs to be spotlighted:
The scheme that Trump is cooking up to replace Lindsey Graham isn’t boring South Carolina politics.

This literally affects whether or not you get to vote in November.

Lindsey Graham Dies Suddenly

Lindsey Graham died Saturday night at 71, after what his office called a brief and sudden illness. He was in Kyiv on Friday and had a Sunday morning television hit booked, which is about as Lindsey Graham as an ending gets.

We’d like to express our condolences to his family – something he never bothered to do for the families of the thousands of people he demanded be killed.

To Lindsey: the best we can offer you is an honest look at the hell you made for people here in America, and across the globe.

You never held back. Neither will we.

The Hell Lindsey Graham Wrought

Iraq, Libya, Syria, Afghanistan, Iran — Graham never met a country he didn’t want to bomb.

And he never met a bombing campaign he thought had gone far enough.

He spent two decades as the Senate’s most reliable engine for American violence abroad. Not a strategist, not a skeptic, just a man who showed up on Sunday television week after week to argue that the only path to peace was killing.

Everyone should know his lowlights.

Iraq

He was one of the loudest voices demanding the invasion, and one of the last to admit what it cost. Roughly 4,500 American service members came home in boxes, and somewhere between a few hundred thousand and a million Iraqis died, depending on which count you trust.

Graham never seriously reckoned with any of it, and certainly didn’t answer for his enthusiastic support for it.

He simply moved on to cheerleading the next war crime.

Guantánamo, and the Law he Helped Break

This one deserves more attention than it will get. Graham was a JAG lawyer, an Air Force colonel, a man who built his brand on knowing military law better than anyone in the chamber.

He used that credibility to strip habeas corpus from detainees at Guantánamo.

His amendment helped construct the legal architecture of indefinite detention without trial, and he spent years defending the whole apparatus.

He took the one thing that gave him moral authority — I’m a military lawyer, I know how justice works — and spent it legitimizing an illegal prison where men were held for two decades without charges.

Some of them were innocent. We know that now. He didn’t care.

Lindsey Graham wanted not only pain of detainees. He wanted blood of millions.

North Korea

August 1, 2017. North Korea had just tested an ICBM that could theoretically reach Alaska. Graham went on the Today show and said Trump had told him, to his face, to advocate an immediate war against them.

And when he said, “thousands” it was a euphemism for “millions.”

Seoul is 35 miles from the North Korean border, and 25 million people live in it — half of South Korea’s population, sitting inside the range of thousands of North Korean artillery tubes buried in the hills.

Pyongyang holds 25 million civilian hostages, and the shelling of South Korea starts within minutes of any strike. Pentagon estimates have run to hundreds of thousands dead, possibly millions, in the first weeks.

Lindsey knew it. And didn’t care.

So when Graham says “they’re going to die over there,” he is not talking about North Korean soldiers. He was talking about South Korean and Japanese civilians — citizens of two democracies we are treaty-bound to defend.

Gaza

And when the Gaza genocide came, he finally got comfortable saying the psycho part out loud.

Yes. The man called for ethnic cleansing of 2.3 million people, nearly half of them children.

He wasn’t done. Pressed on whether Gaza’s civilians deserved a humanitarian pause, Graham reached for Hiroshima and Nagasaki: the United States dropped two atomic bombs on cities to end a war, he said, and this was total war.

He also spread the lie that all Gazans teach their kids from birth to kill, which is how he justified collective punishment – killing infants.

This same man held an A+ rating from “pro life” groups.

But many will forgive him for all of this, for his single public moment of clarity.

The 180 Turn that Almost Saved Him

In 2016, Lindsey Graham shocked the nation by saying something sane.

He told the country exactly who Donald Trump was. A race-baiting bigot. A kook. Unfit for office.

He was right. He knew it, he said it out loud, on the record, repeatedly.

But those of us paying attention must remember what he did when Trump won.

Graham folded fast.

The golf outings. The television defenses. The plane trips with Donald standing by his side like a puppy begging for a treat. The man who called Trump unfit spent the next decade as his most eager courtier.

Nothing changed about Trump after 2016, other than his cruelty getting worse. The only thing that really changed was Graham’s calculation about where the power sat.

And instead of using his power to defend America, he threw it all away.

And for what?

All for Nothing

He reportedly had a net worth of $190,000 entering the Senate. Now it’s reported to be between $1.5 million and $5 million. He was clearly willing to sell his seat and sell his soul to the highest bidders, and the worst lobbyists working for the worst organizations on the planet.

But what did it get him?

He worked day and night for those (allegedly legal) bribes. He never had a moment to himself. He never got to enjoy that wealth. He never got to retire.

All he got was a legacy as a coward, a few handshakes from fellow sociopaths around the world, hatred of most of America, a widely-mocked solo trip to Disney World, and an early death.

He leaves a Senate seat, a Republican Party three months from a midterm, and a South Carolina governor who now gets to hand-pick a replacement.

The one thing he did get was to die quietly, at home, with his family asking for privacy.

That’s more than he ever extended to the people whose needless murder he encouraged.

The media will bow down, and ignore Lindsey Graham’s monstrous legacy.

But we refuse to be complicit.

We’re here to offer this community the unvarnished truth.

And it’s never too soon to call out one of the worst Senators who ever served.

8. E. Jean Carroll FINALLY gets Donald’s money

Out of all the places to nail Trump for being a sexual assaulter, the place that hurts most is his wallet.

A federal judge ruled Wednesday that Carroll can finally collect the $5.8 million Trump placed in escrow after a jury found he sexually abused and defamed her.

The Supreme Court declined to touch the 2023 verdict, so Judge Lewis Kaplan released the money. Even better, the original $5 million grew with interest the whole time Trump dragged it out, meaning every month of stalling earns E. Jean even MORE.

If you know Trump, you know that this moment is even more brutal than most people realize.

He spent his life bragging that he never settles, never pays, never loses. He absolutely despises women. That’s why he swore he’d never give a dime to E Jean.

Meta just killed The Democratic Voice’s ability to reach people. We need to pivot, fast.

The Democratic Voice was one of the fastest-growing pro-democracy movements on Facebook & Instagram.
