Celebrations of culture take center stage this month as June brings summertime vibes and a calendar lined up with festivities for Black Music Month, Juneteenth, Pride, Father’s Day, and more across the DMV.

Lincoln Memorial Undercroft: Hidden Space Exhibit
Visitors will be able to explore the hidden space under the Lincoln Memorial through this new museum experience with immersive exhibits on the memorial’s construction, Abraham Lincoln’s legacy, signed copies of the Emancipation Proclamation & the 13th Amendment,& more. $1 per reservation (service fee) for timed entry tickets

Opens June 26
National Geographic Museum of Exploration opens

The highly-anticipated immersive museum features interactive exhibits, iconic photography, and exploration-focused experiences designed for all ages

Juneteenth Celebrations
The DMV honors Juneteenth with community celebrations centered on Black freedom, culture, and joy, including AFRAM in Baltimore (6/19 - 6/21 in Druid Hill Park), the NMAAHC’s community day honoring Opal Lee, the “grandmother of Juneteenth” (6/19, 11a - 4p, free with registration) and the Freedom Day celebration at the National Harbor (6/19, 11a - 5p, free)
