Key Verse: Ephesians 1:11

In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will.

A life enduring holiness (reflecting the mind and character of God) is possible only when we first convinced of our identity in Christ. Scripture attributes these remarkable characteristics to believers:

• We are the salt of the earth.

• We are saints.

• We are joint heirs with Jesus.

• We are justified by faith.

• We are ambassadors for Christ.

• We are eternally secure in Christ.

• We are triumphant in Christ.

• We are accepted in Beloved.

• We are children of God

• We have peace with God.

• We are free from condemnation.

• We are the temple of God.

• We are blessed with every spiritual blessing.

• We are citizens of heaven.

• We are complete in Christ.

Many other blessings are already yours through faith in Christ as well. They are gifts from the Father, bestowed upon every disciple for effective sevice. Knowing who you are in Jesus is the starting point for abundant living. You can live a holy life because you are righteous in Christ. Today agree with God concerning your new identy in Him.

Faith in Action

Give thanks to God for your identity in Christ. Praise Him for the characteristics from today’s reading that are especially meaningful to you.

Prayer

O God, I declare my new identity in Christ: I am the salt of the earth, a child of God, a saint who has peace with You. I am joint heir with Jesus, free from condemnation, and justified by faith. I am the temple of God, an ambassador for Christ. I am a citizen of heaven and blessed with every spiritual blessing! In Jesus’ name, amen.

Blessed to see another beautiful day.

We live in such a busy world of urgency, which causes many of us to experience anxitey. Anxiety is very real, and it can rob us of our joy and peace. I remember just a couple years ago when anxiety robbed me of my joy and peace and even began to affect both my mental and physical health. But thanks be to the God of mercy and the God of grace, who delivered me from it all!

Through God’s powerful Word, we can find deliverance from every satanic attack and every scheme of the enemy. I would like to encourage you today to allow this passage of scripture to penetrate into your heart, mind, and soul. It will equip you to stand against whatever the enemy may try to bring your way today.

Philippians 4:4-7 (NKJV)

“Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentlness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your request be known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Ephesians 6:11

Put on the whole armour of God,

that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

After sitting on it for a few minutes, I clearly heard, “Join.” Usually, I prepare myself for a stretched fast like this, but this time around, God had a plan—a reason and a purpose for why I should join the fast. My spirit was in alignment with what we were fasting for. I have participated in corporate fasts in the past, and I have experienced miracles and supernatural things happening in my life and the lives of others.

As I was already seeking God’s guidance on major decisions about my life, this was a timely fast. I needed clarity on some things God had spoken to me; I needed wisdom for decisions that had to be made and strength to endure what was on the other side of it all. I have strong faith, but God also knew that I would need a greater measure of faith as I entered into new territory.

During the fast, I received so much confirmation. Some of it came through disappointments, but I can truly say that those disappointments were all part of God’s plan so that I could regroup and reevaluate my next steps with wisdom. God knew I needed to pivot as He prepared me to enter into new territory.

I felt the excitement. I feel the zeal and ambition to begin strategic planning as I get ready for my new season—my new season in Dallas, Texas! This was the major confirmation that resonated in my spirit.

In the spring of this year, I felt in my spirit that I needed to be connected to new things, new people, and a new environment. There are things happening in Dallas, Texas that I feel spiritually drawn to. So earlier this year in spring, I decided to take a three-day visit there, which ended up being four days. I really enjoyed my time there, and I felt like this is where my next journey in life begins.

But when God confirmed that Dallas, Texas is where my next journey begins, the shaking and stirring began. Hell gets nervous because I am about to walk into my destiny with my head held high and my posture solid. And when the shaking and stirring happens, that is a clear indication to hold tightly to what God has confirmed to me, because things will come my way to try to deter, discourage, disappoint, and distract me from what I believe God has said about my new journey in life.

If God said it, that settles it. I believe it. I receive it. I will praise my way through it. Because, “God is not a man, so He does not lie. He is not human, so He does not change His mind. Has He ever spoken and failed to act? Has He ever promised and not carried it through?” (Numbers 23:19, NLT)

I can testify—absolutely not. God has been faithful to me, and He will continue to be the faithful God that He is. He is immutable, meaning He cannot change, and it is impossible for God to lie (Hebrews 6:18). So I will keep what God has confirmed to me locked in my heart. I give Him the key, and the key is trust and belief, knowing that everything is unfolding in God’s perfect timing—for His glory.

An Old Testament prophet named Isaiah once declared a message of hope: that there would be a coming Messiah.

Isaiah 9:6 — “For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder, and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

Now, according to the New Testament, the long-awaited Messiah (a Hebrew word translated into Greek as Christ, both meaning “Anointed One”):

Matthew 1:21 — “And she shall bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins.”

The Bible declares in Acts 4:12 — “There is no salvation in anyone else, for there is no other name under heaven given among people by which we must be saved.”

That name is Jesus! The Messiah, the Anointed One, the Holy One—Jesus.

Supernatural things begin to happen when we say or call on the name of Jesus. Evil spirits must leave in the name of Jesus. You can receive healing in the name of Jesus. Joy is in the name of Jesus. Peace is in the name of Jesus. There is power and authority in the name of Jesus!

The Word of God declares in Philippians 2:9–11 — “Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven and of those on earth, and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

How many readers will confess in the comment section that Jesus Christ is Lord? Jesus saves!

For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13)

“The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run into it and are safe.” (Proverbs 18:10)

How many witnesses feel safe in Jesus? Let me be the first to testify: I feel safe in Jesus.

The Chief Cornerstone — Jesus is our rock of safety.
The Door — Jesus is our gateway. He is the only way to heaven. He is the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through the Son (John 14:6).

Almighty — Jesus is all-powerful, Mighty God, mighty in battle. Jesus is God—Christ is, in His very nature, God, and all the fullness of that essence is in Him.

“For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body.” (Colossians 2:9)

Eternal Father — Jesus is forever. He is the Head of the creation of God (Revelation 3:14).

He is King of kings, Lord of lords, Alpha and Omega, Lamb of God, Master, Redeemer!

He is JESUS.

Today, take a moment to reflect: Do you truly call on His name in every season—when it’s hard and when it hurts? There is power available to you right now. His name still saves. His name still heals. His name still delivers.

Faith—have faith when it’s hard, have faith when it hurts. Without faith, it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6).

Believe—when it’s hard, believe when it hurts. All things are possible if a person believes (Mark 9:23).

At the end of it all, God remains in total control. He will surely see you through. Your loving, praying, faith, and believing are not in vain. I can testify to this!

After A Whispered Prayer was published in 2015, I was instructed by God to leave Orlando, FL, and move to Richmond, VA. I acted in obedience and moved as He directed, even though I did not know a single soul there. My eldest son, who was living in Orlando, moved with me. I have now been living in Richmond for almost eleven years—this December will mark eleven years.

God has called me into ministry, and the call has not been easy (and He never said it would be). But what He did say is that He would be with me—and He has proven Himself faithful to His Word (Numbers 23:19).

At the beginning of my move to Richmond, everything was going well. However, a few years later, I experienced some very difficult and traumatic life events. I lost my passion for Christ, my joy, my peace, my zeal, and my ambition for the things I once loved. I even felt like I lost pieces of myself.

But thanks be to God! “He gives us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!” (1 Corinthians 15:57). I thank God for deliverance and restoration. The Bible declares in Ecclesiastes 3:1 (BSB), “To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven.”

This is my season to shine for God and to declare His glory!

With that said, God has allowed a divine connection right here on Substack to help me move forward in what He has called me to do—something I once thought was no longer possible. Through His grace, I connected with my dear sister in Christ, LeElla Cross, here on Substack (Be Still & Abide). She is making powerful, faith-filled moves, and it is only by the grace of Almighty God that our paths crossed.

We are now collaborating on my A Whispered Prayer project!

Today is not just a religious holiday; it is a celebration of Jesus conquering death, hell, and the grave to save the entire world from sin, so that we may have eternal life and be seated with Him in heaven. This is a continuing celebration of Jesus’ resurrection in the believer’s life here on earth.

At age 14, I received Jesus as my Lord and Savior, calling on His name at the altar in a small church named Zion Temple in Winter Park, FL. The Bible declares in Romans 10:13, “For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (NLT).

In my young adult years, I strayed away from Jesus and began living a life that was not pleasing in His sight. I was headed down a road of total destruction—drugs, alcohol, sexual immorality, wild parties, and the list goes on. It was messy. But God! Thanks be to God—He is married to the backslider (Jeremiah 3:14).

This Easter Sunday, also known as Resurrection Sunday, marks twenty-one years since I rededicated my life to Jesus. I went back to the same church and recommitted my life to Christ. This time, I declared with my mouth that Jesus is Lord and believed in my heart that God raised Him from the dead, and I was saved (Romans 10:9). What a powerful confession!

Once I made this confession, God breathed a fresh breath into my soul, and my life has never been the same. All things in my life became new: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come” (2 Corinthians 5:17, ESV).

I can truly say that I felt the old things pass away in my life and received the new. I must be honest—living for Christ has not been easy, and He never said it would be. But He did say, “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Deuteronomy 31:6). I am so grateful for this promise.

He has shown Himself to be faithful, never leaving me nor forsaking me, even when trials and tribulations hit my life hard. Today and forever, I will praise my risen Savior. The tomb is empty—Jesus is alive, and His Spirit is living inside of me.

My Redeemer lives!!

Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week, also known as Passion Week. I especially appreciate the term Passion, because if you have a passion for Christ, this week holds deep meaning. It commemorates Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem just days before His crucifixion.

It is a reflection of a day that symbolizes victory, salvation, and the beginning of the journey toward Easter, or Resurrection Sunday. It reminds us of how Jesus humbly rode on a donkey rather than a war horse, fulfilling the prophecy of Him as King and Savior.

As the crowd shouted, “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD! Hosanna in the highest!” (Matthew 21:9)—“Hosanna” meaning “save us now”—we are called to reflect on worshiping Him as the Messiah, the Son of the Living God (Matthew 16:16).

He is the Lord of lords and King of kings (Revelation 17:14). He is the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world (John 1:29).

This week, as believers in Jesus’ death on the cross and His resurrection, I encourage you to cast your burdens aside and focus on the deeper meaning of His sacrifice. Let this be a quiet week—turn down the noise, move in stillness, and embrace our wonderful Savior. Because He loved you and me so much, He humbled Himself in obedience to death on the cross (Philippians 2:8), so that we might have eternal life (John 3:16).

“Seasons” symbolically express the changing stages of our lives—the way of life as we know it—according to how God has arranged them. Winter, spring, summer, and fall are the seasons of the earth, and they also reflect cycles of joy and sadness, struggles and peace, highs and lows, birth and loss.

Everything has its time, as Ecclesiastes 3:1 says: “To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.” This includes working and enjoying the fruits of our labor during the complexities and contrasts of life. Life’s complexities and contrasts happen to all of us—none of us are exempt.

It is God’s amazing grace and His loving kindness toward us, in spite of how we may have behaved in the past. God’s grace is not something we deserve; it is something He freely gives if we receive it. Romans 3:23–24 (NLT) declares: “For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in His grace, freely makes us right in His sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when He freed us from the penalty for our sins.”

Grace empowers us to live a life we would not otherwise be able to live—I can testify to that! Just as the earth experiences different seasons, our lives go through periods of growth, change, and renewal. These seasons remind us of experiences ranging from joy to sorrow, acknowledging both good and difficult times, while encouraging us to accept the changing seasons of life with trust in God and resilience. They remind us that He is in total control and that He has a plan for our lives.

In Hebrew, the word “seasons” can be translated as “appointed times” or fixed periods. I am reminded of a butterfly—just like the butterfly, we will experience change, transformation, rebirth, and renewal. The butterfly goes through an incredible and beautiful transformation. Its metamorphosis from a caterpillar into a beautiful winged creature is a powerful example of how God orchestrates seasons in our lives and makes all things new and beautiful.

Ecclesiastes 3:11 (NIV) says, “He has made everything beautiful in its time.”
2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV) says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

If the new year started off on a rocky note, I want to encourage you to embrace the Word of God and embrace your new season like never before. Decree and declare these five things to quit right now:

1. Stop trying to please everyone. Instead, reflect on Colossians 3:23 (NLT): “Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.”

2. Reject fear and embrace change. 2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV) reminds us: “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

3. Stop living in the past and move forward. Philippians 3:13–14 (NKJV) says: “Forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal.”

4. Stop putting yourself down. Remember Romans 8:37 (NKJV): “Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”

5. Cease overthinking. Override it with Proverbs 3:5–6 (NLT): “Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.”

I encourage you to quit these five things right now and watch God move in a mighty and supernatural way in your life.

Read 1 Samuel 17:12-37

As a young shephered boy, David did not possess all the qualities of a strong, conquering faith. God took years to train him for his future role as a king of Israel. However, he never lost sight of God’s goal for his life by fretting over the future.

When facing his first major challenge with Goliath, David mentally went through several steps to ensure himself of the victory through faith:

Recall past victories. David remembered God’s past faithfulness and was encouraged.

Reaffirm the reasons for the conflict. Make sure your motives and heart are pure before God.

Reject discouragement. Always be wary of pessimism. Instead, practice recalling God’s promises to you.

Recognize the true nature of the battle. Claim your position in Christ as a joint heir and a bloved child of God.

Respond with positive confessions of faith. God is in control, and He will give you the victory.

Rely on God. All your hope and security is in Christ. You struggle with human abilities and limitations, but God knowns no limits.

Reckon the victory. David did, and you can too! Whether the victory comes today or in ten years, God will complete what He has begun in your life ( Phil. 1:6).

Put Your Faith in Action!

As you read this encouraging message, take a moment and write down specific Scripture passage that will help you confront discouragement.

These are the specific Scripture passages I wrote down to help confront discouragement:

Philippians 4:13 - I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.

Matthew 19:26 - With God all things are possible.

Numbers 23:19 - God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and He not do? Or He spoken, and will He not make it good?

Let’s pray,

Dear Lord, thank you for past victories. As I face the battles of life, make my motives pure. Help me resist discouragement and claim my postion as a joint heir with Christ. Your power knows on limit, and You will complete what have started in my life. In Jesus Name, Amen.

In this secret place, your heart is free from worry, your thoughts are calm, and your spirit is open. You can feel His nearness — the warmth of His love surrounding you like a soft embrace. The air itself seems to carry peace, and every whisper of the wind speaks of His goodness. There is no striving here, no fear, no distraction — only the deep, quiet joy of being close to the Father.

As you draw nearer to Him, your soul enters into the Holy of Holies — that sacred space where His presence dwells in fullness. You begin to sense His heartbeat, His compassion, and His endless grace. Every part of you is renewed, refreshed, and restored as you linger with Him. In this divine communion, you realize that this is what you were created for — to dwell in the presence of your Father, to rest in His love, and to know the beauty of being still before Him.

Psalm 91:1- He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

Pray without ceasing. 1Thessalonians 5:17

…The effective, frevent prayer of a righteous man avails much. James 5:16

…Men ought always to pray, and not to faint. Luke 18:1

But when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut the door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who see in secret will reward you openly. Matthew 6:6 (NKJV)

Jesus taught us to pray in this manner:

Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. ( NKJV)

Come, enter into His holy presence. He’s waiting to hear A Whispered Prayer from you.

You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Psalm 16:11 (NKJV)

Often times, as human beings, we expect another person to bring fulfillment into our lives. When we do this, we can lose sight of what truly brings us joy. This expectation can even lead to codependency—relying on someone else’s gifts or talents to define who we are.

In a spiritual sense, spiritual gifts are supernatural abilities given to believers by God through the Holy Spirit. They are divine empowerments meant to build up the body of Christ.
Talents, on the other hand, are natural abilities—things we may inherit or develop through training and experience.

Before we were even born, God gave each of us unique gifts and talents for His glory!

Jeremiah’s story is a perfect example:

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you (and approved of you as My chosen instrument), and before you were born I consecrated you (to Myself as my own); I have appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”
— Jeremiah 1:5 (AMP)

Romans 12:6–8 reminds us:

“In His grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.”
— Romans 12:6–8 (NLT)

Recently, I’ve rediscovered the things I love—the things that truly bring me joy. This month, as I turned 51, I found myself regaining self-love, passion, and purpose. I say rediscovered because I had lost that passion, zeal, and ambition I once had for God and the things I enjoyed, due to a series of painful life experiences.

But thank God for restoration!

“But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of Him in every place.”
— 2 Corinthians 2:14

God has brought me back into alignment—with myself and with Him. I’m now on a “Do What You Love” mission, enjoying life again. To God be the glory!

I pray that the same God who did this for me will do it for every reader who’s experienced something similar. Amen.

In Closing

Distractions are dangerous—especially for believers who are called by God to do great things on this earth. So I want to encourage you:

• Don’t ignore red flags in any relationship.

• Stay focused on your passion and purpose, not on people.

• If you don’t yet know your passion and purpose, pray and ask God to reveal it to you.

• Protect your peace—and do what you love!

I love reading encouraging and inspiring devotions, books, motivational quotes, and stories. They illuminate my spirit—especially the Word of God!

I love to encourage others (and encourage myself in the process). That’s one of the reasons I joined this social media community—encouragement is one of my spiritual gifts.

I love the beach, especially on a hot summer day.
I love purple—all shades!
I love nature—God’s creation never stops amazing me.
Butterflies and cheetah prints make me happy (and yes, I like the cheetah animal too!).

Greetings, everyone!

I greet you all in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

I have been a licensed massage therapist for the past fourteen years. I take great pleasure in promoting health, wellness, relaxation, and therapeutic care, while acknowledging my profession as a gift fromGod.

A few years ago, I experienced a series of mental and emotional hurts-dramatic and traumatic events, tragedy, and disaster-all resulting from loss and death.

I can joyfully say, all glory to the Most High God! I am walking in deliverance, healing and freedom from the power of darkness through Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior.

The Bible declares in John 8:36 (NKJV):

“Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.”

And 1John 1:5 declares (NLT):

“This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in Him at all.”

In this season, I am embracing self-love with these affirmations:

• I am holding myself in high regard.

• I am mindful of self-compassion

• I will prioritize my well-being.

• I will accept my imperfections.

• I will take care of my mental health.

• I will be kind to myself.

• I will focus on my strengths, not my weaknesses.

• I will forgive myself for all mistakes

Self-love is not selfish. It is knowing whose you are and Who you are in God.

Ephesians 2:10 (NKJV)

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”

We have boldness and confidence through faith in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 3:12).

I invite you to join me on this journey of self-love for the glory of God-to be reminded of these affirmations and the powerful Word of God!

I challenge you to watch how your life can be transformed. It begins with the renewing of your mind (Romans 12:2).
