A perfume usually arrives with an explanation. Guerlain’s The New Fragrance has arrived as a question.

There is no final name, no disclosed note structure, no fragrance family, and no bottle to study. Instead, the house has sent the fragrance alongside four cards and a letter from Delphine Jelk, Guerlain’s Perfume Creation Director and Perfumer. One card presents Pantone 7685 C. Another shows a sky held somewhere between dusk and dawn. A third card depicts a watercolor-style view of Notre-Dame from the Seine, rendered in layered blue-violet washes with small points of golden light. The final image brings together a wet blue iris and vanilla, the caviar exposed within.

This is an unusual way to meet a perfume. The customary language of fragrance has been withheld, leaving the composition to establish itself through sensation. Balmain’s first prestige feminine fragrance arrives with Quentin Bisch, a ripe strawberry accord, and an Ulta debut that says as much about modern retail as it does about modern taste.

Under city lights, The Estée Lauder Companies unveiled a row of new boutiques—Tom Ford, Frédéric Malle, Jo Malone London, and Kilian Paris—transforming one of Manhattan’s most recognizable streets into an open-air stage for fragrance culture. The evening’s Olfactory Journey, curated by Esxence in collaboration with the Italian Perfumery Institute, promises an immersive exploration of heritage, craftsmanship, and creativity.

The celebration continues with The Veil of Scent, an installation that merges fragrance discovery with creative expression. Guests will select from elegant scent strips representing floral, citrus, woody, and other profiles before stepping into a visually rich, immersive setting designed around their choice. Each dancer will be scented with a singular note, their choreography blending those aromas in real time to create a living, breathing perfume. This poetic performance serves as a metaphor for perfumery itself—where individual elements come together in perfect harmony to create something transcendent.
