September feels like the 4 of Swords. If you aren’t familiar with that card or tarot—it’s all about rest and recovery. We take a pause. September is a cool breeze on a hot summer day. The month provides us with relief. August brought the heat, literally and figuratively. All the fire energy took over the cosmos and made it hot AF. As above, so below—we were under a heat wave across most of the country (my US besties). You may be experiencing “burn out” due to the fiery pace of August. Eclipse season added an extra charge to the collective energy. September brings chiller vibes—there’s a cooling down with the presence of the earth element. The Sun and Mercury in Virgo ground the passion and urgency of the fire and air dominating the sky. The kids go back to school and the adults get to work. We’re restoring stability and structure. Things are calming down, we are able to make changes and not be dragged by change but expect some intense vibes throughout the month.

On a high note, Eclipse Season is over. Wrap it up (lol). The New Moon in Virgo on September 10 marks the grand closing of this period of volatility because it’s not an eclipse. September is very much giving Virgo, “and now back to our regularly scheduled program.” Side note: there’s a lot happening on September 10!

What’s sweet about September is the lovely Jupiter in Leo trine to Saturn in Aries (retrograde). It peaks on the last day of August but lingers the first two weeks of the month. Jupiter and Saturn formed a conjunction in Aquarius in 2020 bringing covid and “unprecedented times”. Then Cosmic Santa (Jupiter) and Daddy Karma (Saturn) squared each other in 2024 and 2025 creating more friction and restricting expansion. Many Americans found themselves restricted by the law (Jupiter is the law) and even facing deportation (Saturn is isolation) due to Trump’s policies. The planets were close to forming a trine at the end of 2025 but it wasn’t exact. This energy peaks and this aspect soothes some of the more harsh cosmic vibes. Jupiter is growth and Saturn is structure, they’re chilling out. Grow your business, find a mentor, build good habits, and trust your judgment under this harmonious cosmic connection.

What’s salty about September is the month begins with a Mars in Cancer square to Saturn in Aries (retrograde). I’m currently experiencing a square from transiting Saturn to my natal Mars in Capricorn and it feels like constant road blocks and a never ending work load. Saturn tests you, hopefully I’m passing the exam and you do too. Another intense aspect occurs when Venus in Scorpio squares Pluto in Aquarius. Expect passion and transformation when it comes to love and money. On the low vibe there may be manipulation, power plays, and battles for control in matters of romance and finance. Don’t stalk your ex. Pay attention to what arises for you because you may revisit it during the Venus retrograde in Scorpio. This is the first of three squares due to the retrograde transit.

Many of the planets are slowing down or are already retrograde in September. Venus is in the retro-shade preparing for its descent into the underworld. Saturn in Aries, Neptune in Aries, and Pluto in Aquarius are all moonwalking backwards. The energy might feel thicker and slower as the retrograde motion slows the planetary expression. Uranus joins the retrograde party on September 10.

Venus enters Scorpio on September 10. This is important because it will retrograde in this sign on October 3. Stay tuned for a Substack post on Venus retrograde. Venus is in detriment in the sign of Scorpio which means it the Planet of Love and Beauty feels challenged here. Love and relationships become passionate, intense, and even obsessive. This is an ideal transit for healing relationship issues and managing your finances.

The Sun enters Libra on September 22 and we enter a new season. Summer is over and Fall is here. Fall has been forced on us in the stores with Halloween decor and Pumpkin Spice since early August but that’s another story. Fall begins at the Autumn Equinox. Balance, harmony, and beauty are themes now. Maybe you’ve been too locked in with your work and need to socialize and have some fun.

September is named after the Latin word "septem" which means seven. September was originally the 7th month of the year in the early Roman calendar. I've got no lore for you about September. The wheel of the year turns, we move from Summer into Fall.

September is a 1 month in numerology ( 9 + 2026 (1) = 10/1). 1 is initiation, new beginnings and action. 1 is all about making it happen. You’re moving toward a goal. This is a very independent and individualistic energy which can make it harder to manage relationships. I talked about materializing things with the Sun in Virgo—1 is the personal and external growth.

Many numerologists consider September to be a power month or a capstone month. September is the month where we feel our personal year vibration blessings and lessons the strongest. For example I'm in a 1 Personal Year and if we take 9 (September) + 1 (2026) = 10 which breaks down to 1. The 1 energy is doubled up for me during September. The same goes for you depending on what personal year you’re currently in.

1 energy supports starting new projects, stepping up to lead, or taking a risk. The 1 numerology vibration reflects Leo in the zodiac or the Sun planetary energy. This is a more self-focused vibe. While we spend most of the month with the Sun in Virgo (which is all about others), Jupiter remains in Leo and the South Node is there as well. Mars also enters Leo at the end of the month. We may be serving others while wondering what’s in it for me.

My tarot take on September is more nuanced than previous months. It’s a 10/1 month. 1 is the Magician in the major arcana. 10 is the Wheel of Fortune. There’s another way to determine the energy of September which is to take the number 9 (the month) and add it to 10 (the year number). The total is 19 which gives us the Sun card. All of these energies are on brand for the 1 vibration. It’s about shining your light, spinning the wheel, and making things happen. 1 is a yang energy, it’s the go-getter. We aren’t waiting around for opportunities to land in our laps, we’re creating them.

The Magician is often associated with Gemini and Virgo as both signs are ruled by Mercury. The Sun and Mercury transit Virgo for most of the month. This is a time to tap into the power of manifestation and trust your skills and knowledge. This is the conscious mind. You can train your brain to be a believer, and give your thoughts power.

The Wheel of Fortune is one of my favorite cards, for me it symbolizes the tide turning. If you’re down on your luck, all that’s about to change. Spin the wheel. Things can shift and in an instant. Trust the universe. Have faith. Jupiter in Leo is encouraging you to take a risk. But don’t risk it all.

The Sun card is boosting your confidence. This card reflects that Leo energy still loud and proud in the sky. It’s reminding you that you are the main character. But with the South Node in Leo it’s about checking your ego and making sure you aren’t too full of yourself. Remember too much Sun can burn or even poison you.

Venus enters the sign of its detriment. I think of debilitated planets (detriment or fall) as showing up for a party and your outfit is a little out of place for the event. It’s not the end of the world but you’re feeling slightly self-conscious the whole evening. Venus feels out of place in Scorpio. Venus is soft and chill vibes. Scorpio is passionate and intense. Venus likes to keep it cute but the Scorpion needs to dig to get the bottom of things. The double whammy is Venus will retrograde in this sign.

September 10 New Moon ☽◯☾ in Virgo ♍️ 18°

Even though this New Moon chart is tricky, it’s not an eclipse (yay confetti). New Moons are fresh starts, a time of planting seeds. Virgo is associated with harvest and fertility. The Moon in Virgo seeks order, structure, and productivity. Get out your to-do list but instead of jotting down tasks, write out your goals. Make a list or what you want to attract into your life. The New Moon is sextile to Mars in Cancer which boosts your ambition and confidence. There is a T-Square between Venus in Scorpio, Pluto in Aquarius and Chiron in Taurus. Remember you deserve what you desire. Lean into the Leo energy and hype yourself up.

September 10 Mercury ☿ Enters Libra ♎️

Mercury in Libra is fair, objective, and charming. Libra understands you get more flies with honey than vinegar. During this transit, Mercury is listening to understand (not just waiting their turn to talk) because Libra actually cares about what the other person is saying. You’ll probably find conversations are more civilized during this transit. Think Miss Manners. If you need to ask for a favor or sell an idea, now is the time to do so. Now things do get a bit tricky as Mercury opposes Neptune and Saturn both in Aries. Mercury will sextile Mars and Jupiter (both in Leo later this month) and I love Libra and Leo energy together. It’s giving creative and charismatic baddie.

September 10 Uranus ♅ Stations Retrograde in Gemini ♊️ 5°

When Uranus stations retrograde, you have the chance to reflect on all the changes occurring. You’re catching your breath so to speak. Because the Uranian energy is turned inward during the retrograde, there may be personal breakthroughs. You might break free from personal beliefs or behaviors that are preventing your liberation. Uranus is all about freedom and independence maybe it’s time to tap back into who you are and really show up as the unique human being you are. Uranus is transiting Gemini, a mindset shift could need to occur. Maybe you’ve been going along with the status quo but you don’t believe in traditional ideologies. Break free.

Happy season to all my Libras! It’s time for us to tap into the Libra playbook—get cute and work the room. Virgo season was all about work but Libra is ready to party. You may seek to beautify your face or your living space. Libra is all about the aesthetics. But Libras are far from shallow, they are devoted to seeking balance and justice. This is a great time to advocate for a cause of stick up for the underserved. I am not a fan of Kim K but I love how involved she’s become in criminal justice reform. If you have a personal problem with a friend or a foe, you may decide to wave the white flag while the Sun transits Libra.

September 26 Full Moon ☽◯☾ in Aries ♈️ 3°

This Full Moon is looking spicy but I wouldn’t expect anything less from Aries energy. The Moon is sandwiched between Neptune and Saturn. We may swing between delusion and depression. I’m just saying, Neptune is confusion and Saturn brings the heavy feels. Pluto in Aquarius is almost opposite Mars (the ruler of the Moon) and Mars in Cancer is at the anaretic degree—29°. Mars in Cancer is squaring Chiron in Aries (also at 29°) suggesting that some strong feels surface. Maybe buried rage and anger bubble up. It’s time to get to the root of the anger and dissipate it. I love this Full Moon for allowing intense feelings to move through you. Feel the fury and free it.

September 27 Mars ♂ Enters Leo ♌️

Mars is a shot caller, big baller in Leo. Mars is feeling confident and ready to boss up in the sign of the Lion. You can level up under this energy. Shoot your shot professionally or even romantically. Leo is the sign associated with romance. Tap into your passion and give your inner child permission to play. I love Mars in Leo for motivating yourself or the group chat. Get your life coaching on. On the low vibe, watch your pride. Remember it’s a democracy and not a monarchy. And save the drama for the theater. Mars will face off with Pluto in Aquarius in October making power struggles a possibility, take the high road.

September 30 Mercury ☿ Enters Scorpio ♏️

Mercury is determined to solve the mystery as it transits Scorpio. This transit brings out your inner FBI agent, but make sure you’re actually following a hunch and not your paranoia. If you need to unpack something let it be your trauma—no shade I’m talking to myself too. This is an excellent time for shadow work and therapy. Mercury is a deep diver, no small talk under this transit. You may notice that even friendships feel more serious and platonic connections need to depth. Try not to ruminate as Mercury in a fixed sign can obsess over things. Partial Lunar Eclipse in Pisces 🌕 ♓︎

August 28, the Partial Lunar Eclipse Full Moon in Pisces rises at 4° 54’ at 12:18 AM EDT. A Lunar Eclipse occurs when the Earth blocks the Sun’s light and casts a shadow on the Moon. The Moon appears red and is called a Blood Moon. At its peak, about 93% of the Moon will be covered by Earth’s dark inner shadow. This is a partial eclipse, the Moon will appear as though someone took a bite out of it. The Lunar Eclipse can be seen across the Americas, Europe, Africa, Western Asia. This Moon was called the Sturgeon Moon by Native Americans because of the abundance of sturgeon fish found in the Great Lakes during this time of year.

Feeling the Sturgeon Moon vibes the heaviest are the Mutable signs: Virgo, Pisces, Gemini and Sagittarius. If you have any planets between 1° to 8° degrees in Virgo or Pisces especially your Sun, Moon or rising then you are definitely impacted by this energy.

Because this eclipse is occurring at 4°, the energy of Barbault’s basket is activated again. Especially Uranus in Gemini, which is now at 5° but forming a square to the Sun and Moon during the eclipse. Uranus is the Planet of Disruption and it’s bringing a restless, impulsive, and shocking vibe to the already chaotic eclipse energy. Pisces is an intuitive and sensitive sign which means our feelings will be amplified under this Full Moon.

Themes of this Partial Lunar Eclipse Full Moon in Pisces: endings, spirituality, release, and intuition.

Even though the Nodes have switched to the Aquarius-Leo axis, we still have two eclipses remaining in Pisces and Virgo. These Full Moons are creating an out of sign conjunction to the Nodes. This is our final eclipse in Pisces on August 28, we won’t have another until 2034. Our last eclipse in Virgo occurs in February of 2027. Think of these eclipses as a time of us checking our work and making sure that we learned the lesson of the North Node in Pisces and South Node in Virgo.

Pisces is the sign of endings, we’re wrapping up the eclipses in Pisces, closure and completion are strong themes during this Lunar Eclipse Full Moon. All of the Pisces eclipses have been lunar eclipses meaning big karmic endings.

Eclipses are New and Full Moons supersized. They are a lunation that occurs on or near the Lunar Nodes. The Nodes are calculations where the Moon’s orbit of Earth and the Sun’s orbit of Earth intersect. The Lunar Nodes are points of karma and destiny. When the Nodes get activated by the New or in this case Full Moon we experience fated events, turning points, pivotal moments, and wildcard situations. Eclipses often bring a crisis or culmination. Disclaimer: you feel the eclipse more heavily if you are in the path of totality or the eclipse is directly aspecting your natal chart.

If you’re like I don’t feel anything on August 28, remember this is a six month event. The impact of this eclipse lingers until the next eclipse in February. This is the final eclipse of the fall set. Eclipses occur in sets and pairs. We had the solar eclipse on August 12 now we have the Lunar Eclipse on August 28. Solar Eclipses indicate new beginnings. Lunar Eclipses indicate endings. This gets more nuanced depending on which Node the eclipse lands on. An eclipse on the North Node suggests energy coming in, and eclipse on the South Node suggests energy leaving.

The North Node is the faucet, the South Node is the drain. We’re emptying out the South Node, not completely, but think of it as we have an overflow. We have too much of the South Node energy. The North Node is lacking, we’re filling that energy up. Now this is where it gets tricky, Full Moons are for releasing. New Moons are for attracting. Because this Full Moon occurs on the North Node, this may be an ending and a new beginning at the same damn time. The North Node is what we’re reaching for and embracing. The North Node is the tide flowing in.

This is a Full Moon in Pisces occurring on the North Node. We’re revisiting themes that came up for us during the nodal transit through Pisces and Virgo. The North Node in Pisces is about embracing compassion, intuition, and faith. The South Node in Virgo is about releasing judgment, perfection, and the need for a plan. It’s time to let go of control. Everything is working out for you, even if it’s not following your plan. It’s God’s plan, s/o to Drake.

Full Moons illuminate relationships. The Moon is associated with emotions. The Sun and Moon are in a tug of war, it’s the outer self versus the inner self. You may be torn between doing what you want and pursuing your ambitions and putting your relationships and feelings first. The Sun in Virgo is seeking organization, structure, and self-improvement. The Moon in Pisces is seeking unconditional love, imagination, and spirituality. We can’t be all about our to-do lists but we don’t want to escape from reality and ignore our responsibilities. We also don’t want to overwork ourselves which Virgo is known to do.

We’re seeking to balance the energies of Virgo and Pisces at the Full Moon. Virgo is the mundane, Pisces is the magic. How do we thrive in both the material and mystical realms? We don’t want to abandon order and day dream so deeply that we float off into the clouds but we also don’t want to be too rigid.

With Virgo we want a plan a, b, and c and to have all our ducks in a row. But Pisces knows that we make plans and God laughs. Pisces understands it’s much easier to go with the flow. The Full Moon in Pisces is ruled by Neptune in Aries (modern) and Jupiter in Leo (traditional). Both of these planets are in fire signs and eager to create something. Fire is passionate and active but can burn out quickly if things move too fast. What’s tricky is the Yod in this chart between Neptune in Aries, Pluto in Aquarius (both retrograde), and the Sun in Virgo.

A Yod is a finger of God formed by two planets in a sextile (Neptune in Aries and Pluto in Aquarius) forming an inconjunct or quincunx to the third planet (the Sun in Virgo). When Neptune (inspiration) and Pluto (power) are happy, the Sun (ego) isn’t and vice-versa. Neptune in Aries and Pluto in Aquarius are seeking action and innovation. Virgo needs a plan and may hesitate to start something before all the deets are worked out. The key to unlocking the magic and mysticism of the Yod (because it is a karmic pattern) is tapping into the midpoint. That would be 3° of Pisces (close to the Moon). With Pisces being the activating point of this Yod, we need to embrace faith and trust in the universe.

The Sun in Virgo is conjunct Mercury, fresh off a cazimi “which translates to “in the heart of the Sun” that peaked on August 27. Mercury is in domicile in Virgo, it’s powerful and potent. Your mind is sharp and ready to analyze. With a Mercury ruled Moon, information is a big theme during this time. Plus we have the square to Uranus in Gemini. Gemini is the sign of thinking and communication. Mercury has been boosted and supercharged by the Sun. We may experience mental breakthroughs around plans, organization and systems. The conjunction means your dreams are in alignment. We’re thinking of our goals and how to go about achieving them. With Mercury and the Sun opposite the Moon in Pisces, we may feel this conflict between leaning into logic and trusting our intuition. You want to make peace with whatever is being released from your life, don’t try to cling to control and resist transformation.

What’s tricky is the square from the Sun and Moon to Uranus in Gemini. With the square to Uranus, we might receive surprising news on a personal or collective level. There may be a pivot that has to occur when it comes to our plans or decisions. You may need to open your mind to a new perspective. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again but expecting a different result. A mutable T-square is a little more flexible than the other modes but there’s still this friction between the Sun in Virgo, Moon in Pisces and Uranus in Gemini. The key to balancing the energy of a T-square is to lean into the missing leg which would be Sagittarius. You need to be open to new experiences, explorations, and even tapping in with your faith. Think of the big picture, don’t allow yourself to get caught up in the details. Uranus is at the North bending, meaning we need to reach for something new and let go of the tried and true.

The tense energy of this Full Moon chart is Mars in Cancer forming a square Saturn in Aries retrograde. Mars is action. Saturn is limitation. A square is friction. You might be blocked from getting what you want at least at the current moment. Saturn will delay but this doesn’t have to be a denial. There may be logistics that need to be worked out before you can move forward. Don’t allow a road block to make you turn around, take the detour. Pivot, don’t give up.

The supportive energy of this Full Moon is Jupiter in Leo trine Saturn in Aries retrograde. Jupiter met up with Saturn for that conjunction when it was in Capricorn and that brought us Covid in 2020. Jupiter in Aries squared Saturn in Capricorn in 2024 and Jupiter in Taurus squared Jupiter in Aquarius in 2025—all challenging aspects. But now the Cosmic Santa and Daddy Karma are forming a trine, a harmonious aspect. Jupiter is faith, luck and hope. Saturn is discipline, goals and achievement. I love this aspect, it’s giving us the optimism and the work ethic to make things happen. You’re not too delusional and not too doom and gloom—you’re cautiously optimistic. 10/10, no notes.

You may not even identify with your sun sign because you’re evolving into it.

Total Solar Eclipse in Leo 🌕♌︎

August 12 at 1:36 PM EDT, the Total Solar Eclipse New Moon in Leo exacts at 20° 1'. During an Eclipse, the Moon passes between the Sun and the Earth, casting a shadow on the Earth and blocking the Sun’s rays. The Moon eclipses the Sun, think of it as our emotions overtaking our ego. This is Total Solar Eclipse which means the Moon totally eclipses the Sun, blocking its light. To witness this total darkness you have to be in the path of the eclipse. If you’re in Greenland, Iceland, or Spain then you are in the path of totality. Here’s what NASA says—“Those in the U.S. and southern Canada will see only a small “bite” taken out of the solar disk as the Moon appears to just clip the Sun. Those closer to the path of totality — across most of Europe and in northwestern Africa — will see most of the Sun get covered up.” The closer in proximity you are to an eclipse, the stronger you can feel it and the more impact it has on your life.

The signs feeling the vibes of this New Moon eclipse the most are the fixed signs—Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius. If you have any planets between 17 to 23 degrees of any of those signs then you are feeling the vibes.

Themes of this Total Solar Eclipse in Leo: a change of heart, a new found passion, releasing imposter syndrome, and letting go of the need for clout or recognition.

An Eclipse is a New or Full Moon super charged. It’s a lunation that occurs on or near the Lunar Nodes of the Moon. Eclipses bring change and fast. Eclipses are turning points, plot twists, and redirection. Solar Eclipses are New Moons. Lunar Eclipses are Full Moons. The Lunar Nodes are calculations where the Moon’s path around earth meets the Sun’s path around the ecliptic. The North Node is the head of the dragon, the South Node is the tail. Think of the North Node as a faucet. Think of the South Node as a drain. This doesn’t mean we empty the South Node completely, but the low expression of this energy needs to run down the drain. The North Node is calling in. The South Node is clearing out.

An Eclipse is felt personally if it activates your chart or you’re in the path of visibility. On the actual date of the eclipse you might not feel anything. The impacts of eclipses can linger for up to 6 months after the actual lunation date. In Judith Hill’s book Eclipses and You, she believes that eclipses in fixed signs have the longest impact, and the results last for years which make sense because fixed energy maintains.

The North Node is in Aquarius, the South Node is in Leo. We’re moving towards the North Node energy and moving away from the South Node energy. The North Node in Aquarius is about embracing the collective, community, civil and human rights, technology, the group, and the future. These are all themes that we’re expanding. The South Node in Leo is about releasing the solo mission, seeking accolades, applause and recognition, legacy, leadership and hierarchy. These are the themes we’re shrinking.

This New Moon occurs on the South Node. Even though a New Moon is a new beginning, there is a letting go occurring because this lunation occurs on the South Node. We have to release something before we embrace something else. Remember the South Node is a drain, there’s an emptying that needs to occur before you can fill up your cup with a new person, place, or thing. You have to drop one thing to reach for another.

This Eclipse highlights Leo themes: romance, children, creativity, self-expression, risk taking, leadership, and tradition. Because the South Node is conjunct the New Moon we may be experiencing the low vibe energy of Leo—narcissistic behavior, being a diva or divo, wanting the spotlight only for yourself and doing something just because it’s tradition and been done before time and time again. Remember tradition is just peer pressure from dead people.

While I personally don’t manifest during eclipse season, things can be eclipsed into your life. Think Leo things like new love, a creative project, a child, the healing of your inner child, a leadership role, or chance for the public spotlight.

There’s A LOT happening this Eclipse chart! We’ll focus on the closest aspects or the ones that pack the most cosmic punch. There are two Kites, a Mystic Rectangle, and two T-squares, plus a Grand Air Trine all in the chart.

The Sun, Moon, Mercury, Jupiter and the South Node are all in the sign of Leo. The Sun and Moon are conjunct in the same sign at the same degree, that’s what happens during the New Moon phase. The Moon is also conjunct to the South Node. With the South Node snuggled up on the Moon, we’re releasing emotional narratives that have become a security blanket or part of our identity. These are patterns and behaviors from the past or past lifetimes that feel safe but are blocking our growth. This is good opportunity to purge old feelings and find forgiveness. The Moon is our mother, female figures, and our relationships. A connection with a woman or a relationship may be emotionally draining and need to be released. Because Leo is the sign associated with romance, maybe a love connection is blocking your growth in some way. This doesn’t mean you throw the whole partner away, adjustments can be made. We might be dealing with old issues from childhood because of this conjunction to the South Node. Maybe a pain point from your younger years flares up.

What’s supportive for sorting through our feels is the Moon in Leo forming a trine to Saturn retrograde in Aries. This is a weak aspect but I’m mentioning it because it’s supportive. Saturn is discipline, devotion and determination. I find that when the Moon positively aspects Saturn, we approach feelings with more ration and logic and can work through difficult emotions with maturity and intelligence.

Mercury (the Planet of Communication) is in Leo and moving toward a conjunction with Jupiter (the Planet of Growth). This conjunction is giving optimism and the big vision. We’re thinking big bish. Good news may arrive during this time. This energy supports travel, learning, and planning for the future. Mercury in Leo is sextile Uranus in Gemini, genius ideas are loading. We’re thinking outside the box. You could meet a new friend that opens you up to a whole new world. This aspect is lovely for brainstorming, solving problems, and ideating. Mercury in Leo is opposite Pluto in Aquarius retrograde which may bring up some power struggles and ego battles. Fixed oppositions indicate a stand off, who will give in first? Neither side (it’s fixed energy). Don’t try to strong arm anyone and allow others to have their own opinions.

Venus, the Planet of Love, is at home in Libra. Mercury in Leo and Venus in Libra are sextile which encourages us to speak from the heart, socialize, and make money moves. I love Leo and Libra together, it’s giving creative and confident baddie energy. Venus is forming a grand trine with Uranus in Gemini. Uranus is reinvention and innovation. This is supportive for creative ideas, meeting new people and unconventional streams of income.

What’s tricky is Venus is opposite Neptune so our values and spirituality may be out of alignment. You might be too delulu when it comes to romance and finance. Maybe you feel disillusioned because your lover is not who you thought they were. You may not know what you want or what you believe in under this aspect.

Mars is in Cancer and at zero degrees, this activates the Aries Point aka the World Point. A significant event may occur under this energy. It’s the potential for something powerful. Mars is moving toward a square with Neptune in Aries retrograde. Neptune is illusion and confusion, Mars is ambition—we may feel uncertain about our direction forward. Our vitality can be low. Eclipses drain your energy so make sure to rest if you feel like your battery is draining.

A Kite formation is a Grand Trine with a Minor Grand Trine on top and an opposition down the middle so it looks like an actual spine. One Kite is being formed by Venus in Libra, Pluto in Aquarius retrograde, Uranus in Gemini and Neptune in Aries retrograde. The Grand trine is between Venus in Libra, Pluto in Aquarius and Uranus in Gemini. A Grand Air Trine is great for tossing ideas around, meeting new people, learning and seeing things from a different perspective. In a Kite, the opposition is going to force action. We have the opposition between Venus in Libra and Neptune in Aries. Venus opposite Neptune is saying free yourself from delusions and illusions, trust the universe and extend compassion to yourself and others.

The other Kite is formed by Pluto, Uranus, Mercury and Venus. The opposition that creates that spine is between Mercury and Pluto. Mercury opposite Pluto suggests it’s time to transform your mind and cut the crap by being honest. There’s a Cardinal T-Square between Neptune in Aries, Mars in Cancer and Venus in Libra. The key to finding relief here is leaning into the missing leg which is Capricorn. Strategize, plan and choose logic. There’s a Fixed T-square between Pluto in Aquarius, Chiron in Taurus, and Mercury in Leo. Chiron in harsh aspect to Mercury suggests that words can heal or hurt. Choose your words wisely. Chiron square Pluto is giving power struggles and maybe you feeling powerless. Again look to the missing sign—Scorpio. You need to investigate, intuit, and do the inner work. “Let go, or be dragged.” I can’t remember where I first heard this or who said it but the saying stuck with me. It’s my motto for Eclipse Season but I apply this concept to life in general. The tighter you cling to a person, place, thing, or idea—the harder change becomes. Seasons change, people change, life is full of changes. We have to accept that there will be endings, pivots, and shifts even when we don’t necessarily want them or feel ready. The mind gravitates toward what’s certain because it needs to feel safe, or prepare for fight or flight. But the spirit knows to trust the process and release resistance. Letting go is liberating. Flowing instead of forcing is the way to move through life.

Eclipses mark turning points, culminations and new opportunities. Things can be “eclipsed in” or “eclipsed out” of your life. Relationships or jobs may suddenly end. If you’ve overstayed your welcome in a space, you might be forced out of it by the universe. Eclipses speed up timelines. Things change and fast.

Disclaimer: how and where an eclipse impacts you depends on your natal chart and current location. You have to consider how close in proximity you are to the path of the eclipse and if the lunation is hitting a personal planet or angle. August’s major events are the eclipses. But I always like to mention the Moon Wobble. Moon Wobble was discovered by Carl Payne Tobey. This is a period of emotional instability and even accidents occurring every 86.5 days when the Sun is conjunct, square or opposite the Moon's Nodes. On August 22 the Sun in Leo is conjunct the South Node. A crisis may arise. I prefer not to make major decisions during a Moon Wobble because logic has left the chat. We’re operating from an emotional space.

Mercury exits the retro-shade (the two weeks post retrograde) on August 6. Mercury in Cancer brought up lots of feels for me and maybe you too. Cancer is heavier energy, the emotions often feel overwhelming if you aren't used to swimming in deep water. We could drown in our emotions. I personally welcome Mercury entering Leo and the thoughts and conversation turning to our passions and creative projects.

One of the major astro events of 2026 is Venus stationing retrograde in Scorpio on October 3. I mention this now because Venus enters the pre-shadow phase on August 31. Venus doesn’t station retrograde until October but we may begin experiencing Venusian hiccups. This is a period of reflection and re-evaluation when it comes to love, relationships, values, money, and sense of pleasure and beauty. I like Venus retrograde for reconnecting with self-love and realigning with your values.

Another month named after a Roman ruler, August is derived from the Roman emperor "Augustus." He picked the month not because he was born during this time but because he experienced great victories during August including the conquest of Egypt. August means noble, grand, and majestic. We associate the zodiac sign Leo with kings and royalty, the Sun transits Leo for most of the month of August. Speaking of Egypt, the Egyptian New Year, Wepet Renpet (aka opening of the year), fell in late July or early August when the star Sirius rose in the sky. Augustus changed the New Year to August 29 when he switched the calendar. August is a month associated with fertility, fortune, and power. Think the 88 Lion's Gate portal.

August is an 9 Universal Month in numerology ( the math: 8 + 2026 (1) = 9). 9 is the number of completion, closure, and compassion. The numerology and astrology align this month because we have two eclipses occurring which indicates major endings and fresh starts. When a door closes, a window opens.

9 energy can feel chaotic because things are in flux. It’s a time of transition. You have to let something go to usher in something new. With the North Node now in Aquarius there’s likely a desire to help people and be of service in some way. Don’t neglect yourself while offering your assistance to others. This is a good month for forgiveness. If you are a 9 life path number, in a 9 personal month or year, forgiveness is a big theme.

9 is the Hermit in the tarot and represents the sign of Virgo. Later this month the Sun enters Virgo. If you look at the card, the Hermit is lighting the path. I used to interpret this card as the hermit illuminating its own path and I still honor that interpretation. But I also view this card as the hermit lighting the path for others, sharing their wisdom and knowledge. This makes sense because Virgo is the sign of service and helping others. 9 is also about embracing the unknown and knowing their will always be guidance forward from your higher self.

It’s tricky because my sweet-ish and salty-ish spot fall on the same day. This means that the harsher aspect might overpower the softer one. But a sextile is an opportunity, maybe the square (salty) forces action and you take advantage of that flow between Venus and Jupiter (sweet).

Both of these planets tend to bring blessings and chill vibes. A sextile is an opportunity, you have to act on this energy to take advantage of it. I love this day for some shopping or treating yourself to a little indulgence. This is lovely for making art or enjoying beauty. It’s also a good transit for money moves. I really like this energy for socializing. Call a friend up and grab a coffee. Overall the vibes are pleasant and chill. You may be a little lazy today, this is not the best energy for working hard.

The Salty-ish 🧂:

Mars ♂ in Cancer ♋️ square Neptune ♅ in Aries ♈️ on August 17. I spotted several salty-ish transits to pick from this month, I was on the fence as to which aspect was the saltiest. I picked this one because anytime Neptune aspects a planet harshly, it’s a red flag for me (shout out to my natal Venus-Neptune square). Mars is in fall in Cancer so it’s not in fighting shape then it squares Nebulous Neptune creating more drama. Physical and mental energy is likely low during this time and you may be unsure of what you want. Mars is drive and ambition and Neptune is illusion and confusion. You may have anxiety and feel fatigued today. Avoid big moves and major decisions.

August 3 Chiron ⚷ Stations Retrograde in Taurus ♉️ 0°

Chiron, the Wounded Healer, stations retrograde in Taurus. We got a taste of this transit (pun intended) with the Cyclospora parasite. Chiron is the wound and Taurus rules food and farming, the food literally making us ill. I talked all about Chiron in Taurus here. Chiron will retrograde back into Aries and my Chiron in Aries (late degree) besties will complete their return. Chiron retrograde is a period where you reflect on how you’re hurting your own feelings. Chiron is the wound and the efforts you make to heal it. Chiron in Taurus is the wound of worth and value, that money wound. Chiron in Aries is the wound of existence and action, that ambition wound. Heal from the inside out.

August 6 Venus ♀ Enters Libra ♎️

Venus, the Planet of Love, comes home to Libra. Venus in Virgo was a “white refrigerator”, no shade. I love my Venus in Virgo BFFs but it’s giving budget and practical. Venus in Libra is lavish and luxurious. During this transit you want your environment and relationships to be beautiful, harmonious, and chill. You want a Viking refrigerator—IYKYK. This is a placement with impeccable taste. All of us should be feeling romantic and cute. If you’re dealing with an issue with a friend or a foe, it’s a great time to mediate it. We’re more diplomatic and charming under this energy.

August 9 Mercury ☿ Enters Leo ♌️

Mercury in Leo is loud and proud. The Planet of Communication is feeling extra bold in the sign of the Lion. This is a great time to toot your own horn if you have a product to promote, you’re an artist or creative (aspiring or woking) or are seeking a leadership role. During this transit, you can speak with authority, confidence, and passion. Barack Obama has Mercury in Leo so you get the vibes. Mars enters the sign of Cancer where it’s debilitated. Mars is in fall in Cancer meaning it’s planetary expression is challenged. Cancer is sensitive and shy. Mars is assertive and aggressive. Mars in Cancer is that crab with a knife meme. During this transit you’re more driven by your emotions. Mars doesn’t like that. You may be whiny and sad when it’s time to tussle. Quit your crying and fight. Now I don’t mean physically fight (unless that’s your MO), Mars is how you assert yourself. Cancer sidesteps conflict. Remember the crab walk from elementary school. Expect passive aggressive from people and maybe even yourself. But they will wage war for their family.

August 12 Total Solar Eclipse New Moon ☽◯☾ in Leo ♌️ 20°

This is a New Moon on the karmic South Node, meaning this lunation might feel more like a Full Moon. The transiting South Node is what we’re collectively shrinking and releasing. When the New Moon is conjunct the South Node, you may experience both an ending and a beginning during this time. Astrologer Judith Hill calls this “the out tide of celestial energy.” Maybe you’ve been seeking a change but have been afraid to make it and now the universe does it for you. Themes for the Solar Eclipse in Leo are creativity, children, romance, leadership and passion. August 22 Sun ☉ Enters Virgo ♍️

You’re a stickler for details over the next three weeks. I like this transit for bringing order to chaos. It’s time to clean up your mess and organize your life. Virgo is an earth sign which means your ideas can materialize under this energy. This is a practical, purposeful, and productive vibe. You do have to watch for the tendency to be hyper-critical and judgmental toward yourself and others. Give yourself and others grace. “Perfection” is a bad word, remove it from your vocabulary.

August 28 Partial Lunar Eclipse Full Moon ☽◯☾ in Pisces ♓️ 4°

It’s the grand finale! This is the last eclipse in Pisces until 2034 and it’s going out with a bang. The Sun and Mercury are conjunct (fresh off a Cazimi that exacted the day before) and squaring Uranus in Gemini which is opposite the Moon in Pisces creating a T-square. There’s an unpredictability and restless vibe around this lunation. It’s a Full Moon on the North Node which in now in Aquarius which is why it’s a partial eclipse. Partial eclipses are not as strong but the T-square to Uranus is amping up the lunatic energy. Uranus may break you out of a rut or mindset (Mercury is in Virgo) and help you let go of the need for a plan, a schedule, and “productivity maxxing.”

August 31 Venus ♀ Enters Pre-shadow Phase in Libra ♎️ 22°

Venus crosses over the degree it will eventually station direct on November 13 and we enter the retro-shade. You might experience the impacts of the retrograde during the pre-shadow phase. Venus is love, beauty, pleasure, money, and relationships. All of these themes are under review. Venus begins it’s retrograde in Scorpio and you reflect on shared resources, emotional and physical intimacy. The retrograde ends in Libra and you reflect on relationships, harmony, and beauty. Venus retrograde hits much harder than Mercury because it isn’t as frequent and it impacts our funds.

I remember reading somewhere that if your natal chart contains a Yod, this lifetime isn’t going to be a cake walk. Lucky for me I have not one but two Yod patterns in my natal chart. Astrologers get really pick about this so for the purists I have one true Yod (more on this in a moment).

Do I have a Yod in my chart?

A Yod is considered a mystical aspect. If your natal chart contains a “Finger of Fate” formation, life may feel fated and destined. Life may also feel confusing and chaotic.

The Yod in your natal chart represents a spiritual mission. But figuring out what that means is where it gets complicated. Let’s unpack this aspect together.

The Astrology

A Yod aka “Finger of God” is considered a rare natal configuration, although some debate the rareness and even the significance of this pattern. I don’t often come across a Yod in chart readings so I don’t consider them to be the norm. I do believe that there’s a special karmic significance to this astrological formation.

A Yod is an aspect pattern resembling a witches hat. It’s formed by two (2) planets in a sextile (30° angle) to each other and both planets forming a quincunx or inconjunct (150° angle) to a third planet (the apex).

An aspect is the the angle created between two planets. Aspects are generally viewed as “hard” (difficult) or “soft” (easy). There are 5 major aspects which were coined by Greek astrologer Ptolemy: conjunction (0°), sextile (60°), square (90°), trine (120°), and opposition (180°).

• Conjunction = Same sign - Hard or Soft depending on planets

• Sextile = Similar element - Soft

• Square = Same modality - Hard

• Trine = Same element Soft

• Opposition = Sign directly opposite - Hard

In addition to major aspects, there are also minor aspects. This is where the quincunx or inconjunct (part of the Yod formation) enters the chat. It’s a minor aspect, these planets are five (5) signs away from each other and don’t share the same element (fire, earth, air and water) or mode (cardinal, fixed and mutable). It’s giving odd couple, a quincunx is considered a “hard aspect”. If you have quincunx aspect in your natal chart you probably don’t consider it to be minor because it can feel very major!

The Yod aka “Finger of God”

Now that we understand aspects, let’s break down the Yod. The Yod consists of one (1) “soft” sextile and two (2) “hard” quincunxes. A sextile is a spark. We’ve got the fire started but we need to keep it going. We have to take advantage of a sextile by doing something but these planets are getting along swimmingly. A quincunx is tricky, these planetary energies don’t see eye to eye like at all. They have different way of approaching situations, they aren’t on the same page or even in the same book. This energy is irritating. We have to make adjustments for these expressions to get along. They’re not vibing and usually when the sextile planets are happy, the quincunx planet is not and vice-versa.

Some astrologers get real picky with the Yod requirements. Astrologer Kevin Burk said the planet forming the two quincunx aspects, the apex planet, must also be the fastest-moving of the three planets in order for the configuration to be a “true” Yod. So the apex can never be Pluto. According to his definition of the pattern, I only have one “true” Yod as I stated earlier.

I’ve read plenty of posts, articles and even attempted to read a book that I didn’t understand about the Yod aspect. All the astrologers alluded to the apex being the solution to managing this energy. The apex is the top of the witch’s hat—the point or the finger and the base as the hands. Now I’m about to shift your perspective on the apex because astrologer Joan Kellogg’s book The Yod: Its Esoteric Meaning shifted mine.

Instead of viewing the apex as the top of the witches hat, let’s look at the apex as the foot and the sextile as the hands. Flip the hat upside down and the Yod becomes a V formation. To find the release point of the Yod we calculate the midpoint between the sextile aka the hands. Yod actually means “hand” in Hebrew. Draw a line down the V and you form a Y. The midpoint of the sextile is the “activating point” of the Yod. The axis between the activating point and the midpoint is the “axis of awareness.” This represents “the weakest areas in the personality” according to Joan.

Joan believed the foot of the Yod held the “mundane karmic lesson” and the activating point contained the “esoteric lesson.” The karmic lesson needs to be learned before the power of the Yod can be released. She also stated that the strongest point of the Yod was not the apex (top of witches hat-traditional view) like many astrologers claim but the activating point (the midpoint at the base of the Yod). The tighter in orb the quincunx aspects are, the stronger the lesson. This is the area where we resist. Transits and progressions can trigger the activating point and lead to life altering moments in our lives.

The natal hemisphere that the Yod pattern falls in also helps us understand what lessons need to be learned.

The Northern Hemisphere in the natal chart is the private world—it’s where you come from. It represents personal development and self awareness. This is an introverted energy focused more on self and family. The South Hemisphere is the public world—it’s where you’re going. It represents relationship development and awareness of others. This is an extroverted energy focused on career and the material world.

If the majority or your natal planets fall in the Southern Hemisphere but the activating point of your Yod falls in the Northern Hemisphere then the lesson is to develop your personal perspective and intuitive gifts. You probably tend to be more extroverted and focused on accomplishments but until you do the inner work, the Yod’s energy can not be unlocked.

If the majority of your natal planets fall in the Northern Hemisphere but the activating point of your Yod falls in Southern Hemisphere then the lesson is to develop more objectivity and be open to sharing your thoughts and perspectives with others. You probably tend to be more introverted and focused on your inner world. But it’s important to put yourself out there in the public and learn what others have to say.

There tends to be instability and blocks for individuals with a Yod until the energy is released. It may feel as though they have potential but they’re not sure what their talent or mission actually is. The most spiritual people tend to have the most difficult paths and this aspect is called a “Finger of Fate.” The higher path and purpose shows up in the Yod but figuring out exactly what that is like solving a mystery—until now hopefully.

The lesson of the Yod shows up based on the houses that the foot and activating point fall in (they will oppose each other).

1st House Activating Point - 7th House Foot

When the activating point is in the 1st House of Self, developing your sense of personal identity unlocks your Yod’s power. Because the foot of the Yod is in the 7th House of Partnership, you might mimic your partner and adopt their characteristics. There can be a strong focus on others and relationships. This lifetime you need to discover and develop your natural gifts and talents.

2nd House Activating Point - 8th House Foot

When the activating point is in the 2nd House of Value, developing your self-worth and nurturing your natural talents and gifts unlocks your Yod’s power. Because the foot of the Yod is in the 8th House of Shared Resources, there can be financial and relational codependency. You may focus more on the values and skills of others. This lifetime it’s time to be your own fan.

3rd House Activating Point- 6th House Foot

When the activating point is in the 3rd House of Communication, developing your mental energy and finding your voice unlocks your Yod’s power. Because the foot of the Yod is in your 9th House of Philosophy, you may be like the absent minded professor. You’re more focused on the big ideas and skip over the small details. It’s time to develop “common” sense and practicality.

4th House Activating Point - 10th House Foot

When the activating point is in the 4th House of Home, developing safety and security in your home life unlocks your Yod’s power. Because the foot of the Yod is in your 10th House of Career, you tend to focus more on the pursuit of professional and public ambitions than your private life. It’s time to connect with your lineage and focus less on your legacy. Achievement seeking is tied to insecurities from childhood.

5th House Activating Point - 11th House Foot

When the activating point is in the 5th House of Pleasure, developing creativity and personal expression unlocks your Yod’s power. Because the foot of the Yod is in your 11th House of Friendship you may focus more on community and the group but it’s time to shine your own light and express yourself. If you’re an artist this can also be that age old dilemma of selling out. It’s about creating work that you feel satisfied and happy with.

6th House Activating Point - 12th House Foot

When the activating point is in the 6th House of Habits, developing your sense of service and organization unlocks your Yod’s power. Because the foot of the Yod is in your 12th House of Spirituality you may be wrapped up in the karma and problems of others. Boundaries are needed as you easily pick up on the energy of others. There can be a tendency to be overly critical and perfection seeking.

7th House Activating Point - 1st House Foot

When the activating point is in the 7th House of Partnerships, developing partnerships, collaboration and co-operation unlocks your Yod’s power. Because the foot of the Yod is in your 1st House of Self, you may be more self consumed and hyper-independent. You could be more introverted and focused on your own inner world but it’s time to connect with others and learn harmony and diplomacy.

8th House Activating Point - 2nd House Foot

When the activating point is in the 8th House of Transformation, developing vulnerability and intimacy unlocks your Yod’s power. Because the foot of your Yod is in the 2nd House of Resources, you’re focused on tangible wealth and material possessions—my money. Prince’s Yod

Let’s look at musician Prince’s chart for a real life example.

Mars at 0° Aries is at the foot of the Yod—the mundane lesson. Mars is quincunx Neptune at 2° Scorpio and Pluto at 29°57' Leo. Neptune and Pluto are the hands. The activating point would be 0° of Libra—the esoteric lesson.

Prince likely felt powerful (Pluto on the Midheaven in a sextile with Neptune in the 12th House) when he was sharing his creativity and performing. The Mars in the 5th House quincux these planets brings the irritation. Now there were some rumors that he had stage fright and this is where the friction comes in. There can be a tendency to overindulge in mind altering substances to escape reality with this aspect. Prince possibly would become overwhelmed by his ambitions (Mars) and want to check out mentally (Neptune). Neptune is creativity and fantasy and very much at home in the 12th House of Spirituality. But the 12th House is isolated and private, maybe the artist felt uncomfortable sharing his artistry despite Mars (ambition) in his 5th House of Creativity urging him to do it. Mars is more physical, making something happen. Neptune is more spiritual, surrendering to what’s happening.

The quincunx from Mars in the 5th House of Self-Expression to Pluto in the 10th House of Career creates this dynamic of desiring to create and express but feeling conflicted about being a star and playing into the politics of Hollywood and the music industry. Prince was in it for the love of the game, he was a musician. Maybe the label wanted him to create more mainstream music and he wanted to push the limits and do whatever he felt inspired to do. Another way to look at this aspect is Mars is assertion and Pluto is power. Prince may have felt this strong desire to push himself to the limit. This energy can also manifest as hidden beefs and this strong desire to get revenge. There was intense rivalry and competition between Michael Jackson and Prince. Prince allegedly attempted to run Michael, his mother and Janet off the road after a James Brown concert. This ego clash is very on brand for that Mars inconjunct Pluto.

I remember I went to a show in 2002 in Atlanta and he was performing a bunch of new music. The foot of the Yod is in his 5th House—Mars in Aries. I was a little annoyed because I did not know ANY of those songs. The activating point of his Yod is 0° of Libra in his 11th House of Friends or as I like to call it the House of Fans. He was heavy into the mundane energy of his Yod, Mars in his 5th House, playing the music he likes and satisfying his personal need to express himself as artist but what the people really wanted was Purple Rain. Libra is the sign associated with harmony, cooperation and grace. He needed to lean more into what the people wanted instead of assuming everyone wanted to hear the newer independent era bops. We wanted the old Prince hits, unless you’re die hard Prince fan. Now he did finally sing some classics sprinkled in here and there toward the end of the night but I remember telling my friend what the hell was he thinking during that first half of the show.

Very random but I actually have a true and strange Prince story. I think the year was 2001 and Prince was in a VIP room at an Atlanta club by HIMSELF (with security of course). I was at the club with my friend (who Prince knew) but he didn’t want to let me come in VIP with my friend because he didn’t know me. There was literally NO ONE in VIP but Prince and his bodyguard and it was just the two of us trying to get in that area which was roped off and concealed with a curtain. This is the early 2000s—I had a Motorola StarTAC cell phone then, camera phones were not even a thing so I couldn’t sneak a pic even if I wanted to. His 5th House of Self Expression was activated but the 11th House of Friends—not so much. RIP to a legend tho.

Full Moon in Aquarius Vibes 🌕♒︎

Wednesday, June 29 at 10:35 AM EDT, the Full Moon in Aquarius rises at 6° 30'. Natives called this lunation the Buck Moon because male deer would grow their antlers around this time. Fun fact: bucks shed and regrow their antlers. Feeling the vibes of the Buck Moon the heaviest are my Fixed gang—Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius. If you have personal planets between 3° and 9° degrees of a fixed sign then you’re feeling the lunatic energy for sure. There’s A LOT going on in this Full Moon chart with the Moon conjunct Pluto in Aquarius and the Sun conjunct Jupiter in Leo (fresh off the Jupiter Cazimi which astrologers often call the luckiest day of the year, but results may vary because there’s a lot of chaotic energy in the background).

This Full Moon is giving passion and purging. Venus in Virgo is squaring Mars in Gemini, adding extra tension to relationships. The Full Moon always brings up relationship issues because the Moon amplifies our emotions. Even if you aren’t feeling the lunatic vibes maybe your boo, bro, bestie or boss is impacted and you’re catching second hand vibes.

The Full Moon peaks when the Sun is opposite the Moon at the same degree. There’s a tussle between our ego (the Sun) and our emotions (the Moon). We feel torn between focusing on relationships and our emotional needs and pursuing personal ambitions and our material desires. We’re seeking to bring these energies into balance and find that sweet spot.

The Moon is what we need to feel safe, secure and to belong. The Moon in Aquarius seeks comfort through community, innovation, freedom and independence. The sun is how and where we desire recognition. The Sun in Leo seeks recognition through individuality, personal expression, and recognition of individual talents and gifts. I always say Leo is the Beyonce and Aquarius is Destiny’s Child. It’s the individual (Leo) versus the collective (Aquarius). There’s this push-pull energy between honoring your identity and what makes you unique and showing love to the communities and social groups you belong to. You may go back and forth between doing what’s best for the group versus doing me.

The Full Moon is time of illumination. Information is revealed to us, the light of the Moon shines and exposes situations or circumstances. Full Moons are a culmination. You celebrate your wins. Think back to the New Moon in Aquarius on February 17. That was a Solar Eclipse in Aquarius—a super charged New Moon—and reflect on what arose for you. Maybe you began something during this time and it’s coming to a completion.

This Full Moon is not an eclipse because it’s too far from the Lunar Nodes but it opens up the eclipse window. We’re in the two week period leading up to the Solar Eclipse in Leo on August 12. This is our first lunation with the Lunar Nodes in Aquarius and Leo. So maybe you’re getting a preview of what’s to come for the next 18 months with this Full Moon.

Aquarius energy is logical, inventive and futuristic. It’s an air sign which means there’s a distance from our feelings while the Moon is in Aquarius. But because Jupiter forming a conjunction to the Sun in Leo which is the heart, we may swing back and forth between detachment and connection. We don’t want to be too cold and we don’t want to over the top with our emotions. We’re looking for a happy medium.

Aquarius is the mind. Leo is the heart. Aquarius is logical. Leo is emotional. Aquarius is platonic love. Leo is romantic love. Aquarius is group power. Leo is the personal power. Aquarius is innovative. Leo is conservative. Aquarius is the rebel. Leo is the loyalist. During this time we may be torn between following logic or choosing passion. We might sway back and forth between breaking the rules and honoring traditions.

There are a lot of aspects in the Full Moon chart. I’m only going to focus on the VIP (very important placements with a tighter orb). The traditional ruler of the Moon is Saturn in Aries which is newly retrograde. The modern ruler of the Full Moon is Uranus which is in Gemini. Uranus is forming the basket aspect or the cradle. I wrote about this on Substack (see below) if you want a deeper dive.

The outer planets are in harmony with each other forming sextile patterns and a trine. The only tricky aspect is Jupiter in Leo opposite Pluto in Aquarius (more about this in a minute). All the outer planets (Uranus, Neptune and Pluto) are connecting around 4° degrees so if you have any planets at 4 then you’re feeling the vibes. Uranus is associated with the number 4 in numerology. It’s time to build something—innovative and inspirational. 4 is the builder. What are you creating?

Saturn isn’t making aspect to other planets, it’s moving away from a square to Mercury in Cancer. I won’t dwell on that because it’s separating so the power of that aspect is diminishing. Our thinking may be a little depress-y under this energy. Saturn brings a heavier vibe. We may be forced to look at things as they are and not what we want them to be. Saturn is transiting retrograde which means you may be feeling the heaviness of your obligations to people, places and things during this time. Maybe you need to drop some of your duties because they aren’t worth your energy and effort or they aren’t your crosses to bear.

The Moon is conjunct Pluto in Aquarius which brings a heavy energy to this Full Moon. Pluto is fear and obsession. Trauma can surface under this lunation in order for you to purge the hurt and pain. Relationships may also be tense as power struggles and manipulation can come into play. It’s giving drama. There can be challenges that arise with your mother or women in your life. My biggest take away from this conjunction is that it’s time to release something and let it go. Pluto wants to strip away what isn’t serving you. Maybe a situation in your life has expired and you need to let it go.

The Sun conjunct Jupiter in Leo is expanding our egos. We’re thinking about what we want. It’s very Kanye. There is this battle between doing me and doing what’s best for all of us, the people. Jupiter also can make us feeling like taking more risks. We’re overly confident. We may be blinded by our own desires and dreams.

The Moon and Pluto are both opposite Sun and Jupiter. Pluto in an opposition to the Sun is giving battle of the wills, this aspect is exact on Monday, July 27, but we’re still feeling the vibes on Wednesday during the Full Moon. Maybe you feel like your way is the right way and you’re not willing to compromise. Or it could be an authority figure or male energy in your life that feels this way. They’re digging their heels in. Then we add Jupiter to the mix which can exaggerate our egos leading to the power struggles. Because Leo and Aquarius are fixed signs, the issue may not be easily resolved. Maybe neither side is willing to give in. Pluto also could be bringing a reality check to Jupiter in Leo’s optimism and grand plans. Collectively we could see people protesting around a policy or act of political figures. Leo is kings which in modern day would be the government. Maybe we see some developments with the war in Iran that the people are upset by.

The Moon is trine Uranus which supports breaking out of your comfort zone. Freedom is the goal. The Moon is sextile Neptune which enhances our intuition and imagination. Spiritual sensitivity is high.

Adding more drama to the Full Moon is Venus in Virgo squaring Mars in Gemini. Venus is values and relationships. Mars is ambition and passion. A square is friction. We can be overly aggressive when it comes to the things we want. Maybe we want to make moves but a relationship or financial obligation is preventing us from doing so. I call this aspect are we fighting or the fuggin. Watch for the tendency to be too assertive when it comes to going after what you want.

The Moon occurs at 6° which is the first decan of Aquarius, represented by the 5 of Swords. This card is very on brand for the Full Moon because of the Sun-Jupiter opposition to Pluto. One of the interpretations of this card is “winning but at what cost.” Pluto’s low vibe is leaning into manipulation and underhanded tactics to dominate and control—that’s the shadow side of Pluto. We don’t want to go low which is what it seems happened in this card. We want to stay in the light. Because you may have won the argument but do you truly feel victorious? There’s regret and even shame there because of how things went down. There are those who hold the W and those who hold the L. Which do you want to be? Every victory and loss comes with a price.

The number 5 in tarot is the vibration one of change, conflict and instability in numerology. These are all themes of the Full Moon in Aquarius. Something to think about—are you clinging to old behaviors that no longer align with the person you are today?

Happy Monday!

The Main Cosmic Character Above this week is Jupiter ♃. The Planet of Growth is active AF, the main event for “the Cosmic Santa” is an intense face off with Pluto. I love Leo season for being creative, expressing yourself and living out loud. Adding to our bravado is Jupiter also transiting the sign of the Lion. There are some tricky spots during Leo season. The Sun opposes Pluto, think darkness battling the light. The Sun connects with the South Node which enters Leo next week. Mercury ☿ stations direct in Cancer ♋️. I don’t know about you but Mercury retrograde has dragged me. I’m relieved for the Planet of Communication to station direct. Keep in mind it does take a few days for Mercury to gain momentum. It’s kinda just hanging around that 16° mark for a few days. But you should notice that communication improves and projects that were stagnant start to gain traction. Mercury will remain in the retro-shade (the two weeks pre and post retrograde) until August 6. Once Mercury passes the degree it stationed on, we’re in the clear FRFR. When Mercury enters Leo in August, we’re truly free from that retrograde narrative.

Astro Tea 💫 🫖

French mundane astrologer André Barbault predicted the Covid pandemic of 2020, years before the outbreak occurred. He didn’t live to see his prediction manifest (and flex on the astrology community) because he passed away in 2019. His work is greatly respected and revered by astrologers. His track record is solid—he also predicted the fall of the Berlin Wall (under the Saturn-Neptune conjunction in 1989).

In my practice I focus on natal astrology and predict how the transiting planets impact a person’s chart and life. Barbault studied how the astrological transits impact the world.

Per Wikipedia:

Mundane astrology, also known as political astrology, is the branch of astrology dealing with politics, the government, and the laws governing a particular nation, state, or city. The name derives name from the Latin term mundus, ‘world’.

I’ve been writing/yapping about the Magic Triangle (Minor Trine) that forms between Uranus in Gemini, Neptune in Aries, and Pluto in Aquarius for a while now. But Barbault noticed a rare cradle formation perfecting mid-July. Barbault technically never called it a basket, another astrologer did. I’m not sure who came up with that name first, but it’s catchy and it’s clever.

7/20 Hippie note: Apparently Barbault actually called this aspect formation a basket in his book The Future of the World According to Astrology. I have not read that text and will have to circle back after some more research.

The real question is what does Barbault’s basket hold?

Barbault predicted that July of 2026 marked "a relaunch of civilization". A period of "human beings surpassing themselves while experiencing life on a higher level".1

I purchased Barbault’s book Planetary Cycles Mundane Astrology and I’ve skimmed it (I won’t lie and say I read it cover to cover). The book itself is more stat based, Barbault references historical events coinciding with the outer planetary synodic. There are graphs and lots of historical data in this book and if that doesn’t sound like your jam then this book is not for you.

I thought Barbault would write in depth about 2026, but he didn’t. My first take away was did the astrologers overhype this whole event and this man’s prediction. But a quick pull of Barbault’s chart confirmed several natal placements (Sun in Libra, Mercury in Scorpio trine to Uranus in Pisces) that let me know Barbault was both a gifted researcher and intuitive person.

Let’s get into what grabbed by attention in the book. Barbault explains that Neptune reveals the faith of the people and Saturn is work so when these two planets connect (like they did earlier this year) there can be revolts and the rise in communism. I previously wrote about the Saturn Neptune conjunction (see below) marking the end of the “American Dream” and Americans becoming disillusioned by the current societal systems. It’s interesting that democratic socialism is currently on the rise with the election of New York mayor Zohran Mamdani.

Another thing that stood out in Barbault’s book was a cyclic indicator graph showing that 2020 would be a low point (crisis) in the cyclic index. We all lived through the unprecedented event of the Covid-19 pandemic. He then mentioned 2026 is a peak in the cycle and it would “probably be a change for the better.”2 The peak suggested renewal and a new era.

I do plan to revisit Barbault’s work (at a later date) but now you have the gist of what everyone’s talking about. I won’t try to predict the outcome of this alignment for the world because I’m not a mundane astrologer. I will unpack how this rare Cradle pattern is going to impact you on a personal level.

Astro Chart

If you have any planets at 4° you’re the main character.

The chart above is the peak of the Barbault’s basket when the Moon in Libra reaches 4° on the morning of July 19. There’s a pentagram star forming. In esoteric practices, the pentagram’s points symbolize the four elements—earth, air, fire and water and the top point represents spirit. There’s a mystical energy to this aspect formation.

I spot two Kites and a Mystic Rectangle. The Kite aspect is formed by a Minor Trine sitting on top of a Grand Trine with an opposition down the middle—it literally looks like a kite. A Mystic Rectangle pattern is formed by two sextile, two trines, and two oppositions. The opposition from Jupiter to Pluto is the real star of the chart. When you have so many harmonious aspects in a chart, you need friction to motivate action and that’s where the opposition enters the astro chat.

We’ll start with the Moon because it’s the fastest moving planet. The Moon sets the collective emotional tone. The Moon in Libra seeks security and comfort through social connection and harmony. We’re more likely to partner and seek companionship under the Libra Moon. Libra loves a dance partner. The Moon forms a trine to Uranus in Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius. This is a Grand Air Trine, meaning we’re eager to share ideas and information. We all feel more chatty under this aspect. This is a good day for expanding your knowledge and meeting new people.

The Moon ☾ in Libra ♎️ is sextile to Jupiter ♃ in Leo ♌️. The Moon is our emotions and Jupiter is expansion. This is a sextile so it tends to be pleasant, creating an overall feeling of optimism. Jupiter in Leo is big-ing the fun and creativity and the Moon in Libra is all about the aesthetic and vibe. It’s giving treat yo self.

The opportunity for education may appear out of the blue. Luck is a theme. There may be a breakthrough around an idea or project.

Jupiter ♃ in Leo ♌️ is trine Neptune ♆ in Aries ♈️. Jupiter and Neptune are similar but different. Both deal with beliefs and ideals. Jupiter is religion and Neptune is spirituality. You likely feel inspired and idealistic under this aspect. You’re ready to create something. Leo is the sign of creativity and Neptune is imagination.

New Moon in Cancer Vibes 🌑♋︎

On July 14 at 5:43 AM EDT, the New Moon in Cancer rises at 21° 59'. Feeling the vibes of this New Moon the heaviest are my Cardinal Crew—Cancer, Aries, Libra and Capricorn. If you have any planets between 18° and 25° degrees of a Cardinal sign then you’re heavily impacted by this New Moon. We’re feeling all the feels because this a New Moon in tender Cancer. I’m only focusing on the VIP (very important placements that have an orb of 3 or smaller) because there’s a lot happening in this lunation chart. I’m not going to dwell on the square from the Moon to Saturn in Aries because that’s separating as you can see by the thinner line from the Moon to Saturn which means a weaker aspect (I do yap a bit about this on the video though).

The Sun and Moon are in a conjunction—the same sign and degree, that’s what happens during the New Moon. Mercury in Cancer is also conjunct the Moon and Sun. The New Moon occurs at 21°, almost 22°. This is the third decan of Cancer and represented by the 4 of Cups in the tarot. I’ve been reflecting on this card lately and it’s giving “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” by the Rolling Stones. We’re incapable of being satisfied. We’re bored, in a rut or have a case of the mean reds. If you’ve seen Breakfast at Tiffany’s then you get the vibes. We don’t know what we want, we don’t want anything. If you look at the man featured in the card he’s closed off to anything that is being offered to him—arms and legs crossed.

This is can be a card of regret, Cancer is the sign associated with the past so maybe we’re thinking about what was and feeling sad that we’re not longer in that situation. It’s time to let go of the past. Mercury is retrograde so the pull to the the past is strong AF. Let go of that yearning and focus on the present. Think of all the blessings around you. Look at that lush background on the 4 of Cups. He can’t even enjoy it cause he’s pining for his ex or his childhood home. True happiness lies in the present moment.

Four is the number of structure and order. Four energy is prominent this month with the outer planets all aligning at 4°. Four is the builder. Instead of us pouting, we need to come up with a plan and lock in. Three is creativity but four is the energy that helps us materialize our dreams. The emotional energy of water isn’t thrilled to be in the rigid 4 energy but creativity needs structure to progress from simply a wish to a goal.
