West Village - Rōk Coffee & Tea has been all over my feed as a fellow matcha connoisseur. It hails from Los Angeles and was ranked #1 on Beli in 2025! I have high expectations and I will write a full review on my next Spilling the Matcha post.

West Village - Barnaby Candy has edited their instagram bio to Opening September 👀

East Village - 20 Blocks is the new kid on the block at 215 E. 4th Street open Wednesday - Sunday from 11-2pm. They sell out quick to plan for the earlier end if you’re interested!

Flatiron - Mexico’s Highest Awarded Tacos are now in the US! El Califa de Leon opened last week at 20 W 23rd Street. They are taking walk-ins but you can book a reservation here. They are closed until September 8th while they work through training.

Bun Mee - an award winning Vietnamese fast-casual restaurant from San Francisco is opening this month at 115 East 23rd Street (official opening date TBD)

Carroll Gardens - Light Switch is a new coffee shop and wine bar with a beautiful outdoor patio (indulge while you still can!) They’ll offer light bites all day and a cozy atmosphere to sit and stay awhile (I’m looking at you remote workers!)

Bed-Stuy - Olmo is opening up an all day taqueria and café, Peral next door on Wednesday, September 2nd! They’ll serve tacos + drinks + coffee - some of which will be frozen with alcohol - YUM!

Tribeca - Faux, a new french restaurant by Keith McNally’s (restaurateur of Balthazar, Pastis and Minetta Tavern) son is set to open to the public on Thursday, September 3rd. Led by head chef, Kristina Ramos formerly of Eleven Madison Park and Oxalis, this might be one of the most highly anticipated openings of the year. Can this nepo baby make a real name for himself? We shall see!

West Village - Chateau Royale has shuttered after a little under a year of operations and has transformed into Floradora, a new American restaurant that appears to be more budget-friendly and approachable than its predecessor.

Carnegie Hill - Semifinalist on Top Chef Season 22, Lana Lagomarsini is opening Creola, a supper club-style tasting menu restaurant on 97th and Park on Wednesday, September 9th. There will be two seatings each night available from Wednesday-Sunday. The five-course tasting menu is $125/per person and you can book a reservation here!

Dumbo - Don’t Matter is a new listening bar and cocktail lounge at 55 Sands Street. Inspired by Japan’s tradition of listening bars, with colorful house cocktails and Pan-Caribbean small plates for sharing. Reservations are recommended, but walk-ins are welcome. Book a reservation here.

Brooklyn Heights - Frenzie is officially open and serving late-night pizza (until 1:30am on weekends) and wine to my sleepy neighborhood!!! I can’t wait to try!

Cobble Hill - Sam’s, a neighborhood institution founded in 1930 is reopening under new ownership. Former Long Island Bar alum, Georgia Fulton is starting a new chapter on September 10th when the doors of Sam’s are reopened! Half the seats are held for walk-ins or you can make a reservation here!

Happy Friday! I can’t believe it’s almost labor day weekend and the unofficial end of summer. I’ve been resisting the idea that my favorite season will soon be over, especially as halloween marketing and the pumpkin spice latte has come up one too many times in my social feeds.. I’m choosing to live in the moment and enjoy my favorite frozen drinks and treats as much as humanly possible until the weather quite literally tells me otherwise :)

I am embarrassed to admit that I have lived in the city for over six years without having ever gone out in Bushwick before last Friday. I’ve heard crazy stories about House of Yes and never ventured to experience it for myself! I was thrilled when Jaywalker reached out to me to try their cocktail line up because it was absolutely delicious.

The space is a nice change from the typical Manhattan cocktail lounge that’s packed from the moment you walk through the door. The 3,000 square foot bar and event space has an eclectic warehouse vibe with colorful artwork and cozy seating. The menu is full of options for all - rum, vodka, gin, and their signature rye! I gravitated towards the milk punch and admittedly drank them a bit too quickly for my own liking. Their frozen vesper was also a highlight with a cute orange star and glitter as a garnish ✨

This was a gifted experience!

I’ve followed Glace for years, and every winter I’m always tempted to try their hot chocolate. I found myself on the Upper East Side last weekend and knew I had to stop by to try their soft serve with a matcha hard shell.

I had a pretty hard time deciding what to get because everything on the menu sounded incredible.. from frozen hot chocolate, soft serve, to an amalfi lemon sorbet served in a frozen lemon. I decided on the the soft serve swirl (Cookies & Cream + Vanilla) which was delicious, but I could’ve gone without the matcha hard shell because it barely tasted like matcha. I’d go back to try their other offerings and candy!

This is a great spot to grab a treat after a stroll through Central Park or for a Post-Museum treat!

It’s basic, I know! The US Open has become an influencer playground over the past few years causing ticket prices to skyrocket so I attended fan week to still feel the energy of the open without the crazy price tag - which was my justification for spending $23 on a frozen honey deuce!

New York City restaurants and bars have begun capitalizing on the honey deuce’s virality by creating their own versions so it no longer feels exclusive to Open attendees. Sharing some places below you can partake in enjoying a honey deuce during the US Open!

Lulu & Georgia recently did a collaboration with the Sunset Tower Hotel, which holds a very special place in my heart after getting engaged there last summer. This (1) tray from the collection is a subtle reminder of that perfect day. This Studio Mary Lennox x Zara Home (2) wavy vase with an integrated flower frog is exactly what I need to add to my collection. After consuming a honey deuce last weekend, I realized I don’t have any cocktail picks. This (3) set of six from west elm is chic AND on sale! I love elevating an outfit with a colorful accessory, so this (4) Staud bag caught my eye with the unique canary colored feathers. I never spend more than $100 on a pair of sunnies, (5) these le specs are on sale for $59.50! Kelly Wearstler is releasing a collection with H&M and I had no clue it included clothing. I love the layering and colour of this (6) trench coat dropping on September 3rd. I was in awe of Jonathan Anderson’s AW26 Collection for Dior, and this (7) cardholder is the next best thing to the iconic lily pad heels. Framebridge just released souvenir frames for keepsakes and I love this (8) curved edge frame for photo strips. Fall fashion is upon us, and I’m thinking about boots. I adore this (9) Tony Bianco Margot boot with a pointed toe and curved heel. Dreamy (10) Tory Burch earrings I would die to wear to my wedding and they are on sale!

TGIF! We officially have 39 days of summer left and I’m trying to soak it all in before we descend into the fall. I visited a few lovely new spots in the past two weeks that were incredible, let’s get into the reviews!

In the trenches of winter earlier this year, I wrote a piece about where you can experience the magic of french interior designer, Laura Gonzalez in NYC. I have strolled through Printemps, worked out of Café Jalu, but still had yet to visit their fine dining restaurant - Maison Passerelle. When I saw it pop up on the Summer Restaurant Week list, I knew I needed to strike while the iron was hot.

I was delightfully surprised when we arrived to find the restaurant was much larger than what pictures had lead me to believe. The space is gorgeous and full of so many beautiful patterns, materials, and glassware. The food was spectacular across the board. My favorite dish was the grilled prawn and peach in a passion fruit lait de tigre that I could have drank through a straw…

This is a great restaurant to visit for a special occasion, drinks with friends, and when you have someone in town visiting.

I hadn’t been to the Mandarin in months, so when I found myself in Chinatown last weekend I knew I had to stop by. They use kettl matcha (my favorite) so I always like to try their seasonal specials, which is currently an Iced Guava Matcha with coconut water. It’s truly summer in a glass and I’ve already been back this week to order it again.

This is a great café to visit if you want to work remotely during the week, grab a good matcha in chinatown or stop by before or after going to Golden Diner!

Los Angeles fav, Canyon Coffee opened in Prospect Heights in March with lines wrapping around the block for the first few weeks. It took me a minute, because I didn’t want to wait in a line! But I finally visited with a friend and tried their heirloom tomato sandwich and draft pistachio matcha latte. I went in with no expectations even though many fellow writers on here recommended it!!! I was so surprised by how much I loved the heirloom tomato sandwich - it was so fresh. I wouldn’t get the draft pistachio matcha latte again but I’d happily go back and try a different beverage!

This is a great café to visit if you want to work remotely, have a good sandwich, or quickly transport to Los Angeles.

East Village - Ninth Ward has returned to its original location after a ten year hiatus at 180 2nd Ave. This Nola inspired establishment serves gumbo, shrimp po’boys, fried okra, and more!

West Village - Two years after closing its original location, Mary’s Fish Camp is back at 626 Hudson Street serving the freshest seafood in the West Village. Reservations can be made here, or try to walk in!

Get dessert after at Nepita, a mediterranean gelateria & café serving flavors like strawberry olive oil and sicilian pistachio! Closed on Mondays!

Chelsea - The team behind Zero Bond & Cucina Alba entered the pizza space with Enzo at 141 10th Ave. Pizzas range from $32-$38! Open from 5:30-10:30pm Wednesday - Sunday.

Prospect Heights - Calling all Oyster Lovers! Zig Zag Oyster Bar from the team behind Harts, Eel Bar, and Cervos is now open, with a large amount of seating reserved for walk-ins (more of this, please!!!)

Happy Friday friends! I can’t believe August 1st is tomorrow.. I don’t know about you but summer has been flying by and the fall/winter scaries have been creeping in. I decided to switch this lovely series to bi-weekly instead of weekly to keep a bit of my sanity! Thanks so much for your support!

Union Square Café is a restaurant I keep coming back to, not because of its consistency, but because of its unassuming, laid-back upscale vibe. In a city where restaurant culture has become increasingly dependent on the gamification of reservations, it doesn’t feel like Union Square Café wants to play the game.

USC might be one of my most frequently visited restaurants in the six years I’ve lived in the city. I’ve gone for birthdays, thanksgiving!!!, business lunches, and for no real reason at all other than being hungry! Brunch, Lunch, and Dinner are consistent across the board when it comes to food, service, and ambiance. You really can’t go wrong with the menu here, but if it were up to me the Parker House Rolls would be available ALL DAY. If it has been on your list, but you’ve been hesitant to go because it’s not the hardest to get reservation and all over your social feeds, I highly suggest trying it out! If you are disappointed, feel free to blame me!

I love visiting unique cocktail bars that push me out of my comfort zone when it comes to my typical order. I first wrote about Little Big in my March Agenda post, and at last got the opportunity to visit this week! The owners are alums of Double Chicken Please, so I knew the menu was going to be funky. Their fusion of Eastern European & Caribbean flavors intrigued me, so I went BIG when it came to my order.

I started with the cacao cocktail (only rum option on the menu) and finished with the strawberry. My fiancé got the carrot and cherry cocktails and of course, I ended up liking the Cherry the most. Thankfully, he was kind enough to let me drink most of it! The owners were extremely kind and welcoming making the experience one to remember. I’ve already decided that for my next visit I will be enjoying my cocktails al fresco!

If you know me, you know I love matcha and I will jump at any opportunity to check out a matcha pop-up. Drink Dew Matcha conveniently appeared in my feed so I decided to visit with my bestie last weekend. I saw that they had a Vanilla Oat Matcha Slushy and knew I had to try it. It was quite good! They also had a slow cooked strawberry matcha, and passionfruit matcha tonic on the menu!

Who knew the Kate Spade Outlet would have such a (1) cute top? A $25 pair of (2) beaded statement earrings. A fun (3) DIY bead kit to do on your own or your next girl’s night (currently 25% off!). The best way to add some flare to an otherwise basic outfit? This (4) Anni Lu Sorbet Beaded Necklace. Terry Cloth makes me think of summer. This (5) Bright Red Makeup Bag would be perfect with a custom monogram. I want this new (6) Huey Lightshop x Lulu & Georgia Mini Prairie Table Lamp for my nightstand! I’ve only visited 4 of the restaurants above and the rest have been on my ever growing list of places I’d like to visit. NYC Restaurant Week is the ideal excuse to put on your favorite outfit and try something new without the expensive price tag many of these spots typically come with!

My favorite outfit is a pair of blue jeans and a white shirt. It’s basic, I know. For Restaurant Week, I’d style my new pair of Just USA drawstring jeans (perfect for going out and not having to unzip at dinner) with an Aritzia tank, and a Helsa Silk Flower Pin. I’d also throw on the Heaven Mayhem Amara Watch and Madewell Sandals for a little bit of pattern. I’d use my brand new Tory Burch Embellished Hobo Bag that actually has so much room for my Vacation Sunscreen, Westman Atelier Blush, Diptyque Perfume, and Courtney Kinnare Purse Hook (the only way to hang your most prized possession, a handbag).

Welcome to the 20th issue of Spilling the Matcha! I took a brief hiatus while I was in Europe, but we are back at it this week with some wonderful new reviews.

I visited The Frick for the first time when I was lucky enough to snag a Free First Friday ticket, sponsored by Louis Vuitton! Adult tickets cost $30 and they also offer pay-what-you-wish admission on Wednesdays from 1:30-5:30pm.

As soon as I stepped into the restored Mansion, I was transported to The Gilded Age (queue the Bridgerton theme song). As a designer, I could tell how much time and thought was put into returning this National Historic Landmark to its original glory. When I saw they also offered a dining concept operated by Union Square Hospitality, and designed by Bryan O’Sullivan Studio I knew I must try it. I had my eye on the afternoon tea that was surprisingly only $65 - a solid deal compared to other high-end tea options in the area. Our group opted to add the $25 glass of champagne because we were celebrating my 30th birthday, but I wouldn’t order it again. The tea itself was lovely and we all admired the plateware, teacups and glasses because they were so elegant. I highly recommend visiting the Frick and making a reservation for Afternoon Tea if you are visiting or just want a nice afternoon on the Upper East Side!

Let me introduce you to one of my favorite bars in Manhattan, The Portrait Bar. It’s located inside The Fifth Avenue Hotel - a property high on my list for whenever I do a staycation in Manhattan. The hotel was designed by one of my favorite interior designers, Martin Brudnizki (also Fouquet’s, Le Grand Mazarin and Villa Beatrice) and named North America’s 71st Best Bar by 50 Best Bars. The cocktails are on the more expensive side, but it’s totally worth it if you want to splurge on a night out or slip on a nice dress!

When my fiancé and I visited for the first time last Christmas, we had two cocktails each and ended up buying a candle in the lobby because we were obsessed with the scent. I burn it whenever we have guests and reminisce about that time we dressed up, got tipsy and enjoyed our Cebu Cocktails (maybe a little too much).

Caffé Panna is essential during a hot, New York City summer. It is easily one of my top three favorite ice creams on the planet and their weekly menu keeps me coming back for more. If you have the option, go to the Williamsburg location because it’s larger than Gramercy and there’s a better chance at a shorter line.

Their weekly soft serve specials often sell out quickly, so check their instagram for the most up to date info so you aren’t disappointed when you arrive. Their Sungold Sundae last week was phenomenal and their passionfruit pavlova this week looks INSANE. I often like to share a soft serve because I can’t always finish it by myself.

When I started doing research on where to stay for this trip, Hotel Massé kept coming up as a recommendation from fellow substackers, content creators, and even Vogue. It was marketed as a place to stay for the “Design Crowd”, which was music to my ears! If you’ve read any of my other reviews, you may know that design is a very important part of the hotel experience for me. If I was going to stay somewhere new, it had to be something worth writing about.

We booked a three night stay in the Classic Room with a Balcony (around $300 per night) through Expedia and were eager to discover a new neighborhood we had yet to explore, Pigalle. There were plenty of mixed reviews about the location - some said it was awful while others said it was wonderful. I was a little worried that it would feel too touristy since it was right by Moulin Rouge, but it ended up being perfect.

Check-In

Upon checking in we were offered water and a seat to go over our reservation details. We were told about the daily breakfast offerings in the lobby, the newly opened Trente Restaurant next door, and their concierge services. We were then given our keys and directed to the elevator to head up to our room!

Classic Room with a Balcony

There’s something so magical about opening the door to your hotel room for the first time at a new property. So many thoughts were running through my head - Will it be as nice as the photos? I wonder how big the balcony is.. Is 140 sq/ft really that small? The answer to the latter question is yes, it really is that small. Since we were traveling for 12 days, both my fiancé and I had checked bags and both could not be open at the same time in our room. The queen bed was cloud-like comfortable and the room got very cold which was a godsend in the aftermath of a heatwave.

The bathroom was stylish with a ceramic tile wall and travertine trim around the tub, Typology Products, and thick cotton robes and slippers. My only issue here was that you could either 1. take a bath in the tub, or 2. use a hand-held shower head (personally, not my favorite showering experience). Aside from that, the storage space, thoughtful design and products were wonderful.

The balcony was the perfect size for two with seats to lounge and enjoy a morning cappuccino or night cap. The view looked down to Rue Victor Massé, a beautiful street lined with Haussmann style architecture. We were staying here when France was playing in the World Cup so I imagine it was noisier than usual, but even then, it wasn’t something that bothered me.

There was no mini-bar or refrigerator in the room, and the hotel does not offer room service (something I was sad about). They had a Sjostrand Coffee Machine, Mini Kettle, and a few tea options. They supplied two bottles of water each time they cleaned the room!

Le Trente

The bar and restaurant next door only opened in April of this year, so it still had that brand new, shiny feel to it. We sat at the bar and had a few glasses of wine before heading up to the room to continue the conversation on our balcony. This didn’t feel like your traditional hotel restaurant that’s often an afterthought with a boring menu. Le Trente feels intentional, like a standalone establishment that just happens to be right next door to a trendy, design-forward hotel. We didn’t order any food, but I would definitely go back and try! If you are visiting, I would recommend booking a table here.

Amenities

Fitness Room - I’d be lying if I said I’ve ever visited one to do anything other than take a peak.. I am not the type to work out on trips, but I am not completely opposed to exploring it in the future. The fitness room was closed during my stay.

Lobby Breakfast - Could be booked with the room or added on in the morning if you randomly jaunted downstairs and decided you wanted to partake. We did not because Mamiche was a 7 minute walk down the street (a bakery I highly recommend!)

Concierge - Available to help book reservations or help with any special requests!

Overall Experience

For the price point of $250-$300 a night, this was a wonderful stay for a four-star hotel. The location is a 20 minute walk to Gare du Nord & Palais Garnier, 15 minute walk to Montmartre, and 5 minutes to the Pigalle Subway Station. The design feels upscale and intentional while still maintaining a boutique-like atmosphere. I think I would have enjoyed it more if I didn’t have such a large suitcase, and could easily access my things. I wish they had room service and an overhead shower option (I could be wrong, but I believe all room types only have a tub/hand-held shower combo). Watch my review on TikTok HERE.

I recently started using Expedia more often to book my hotel stays because of their Book Now, Pay Later feature. It’s perfect for flexible travel dates or someone who often changes their mind. Take a look at my recommended stays here!

When I started unpacking from my trip, I realized some of my items got a ton of mileage while others sat in the exact same place the entire trip (oops). This (1) ALC Virginie Flap Bag I rented from RTR (Get 50% off your first month here) was my go-to the entire trip. It’s chic and actually holds so much more than you might think. I don’t know how it took me five nyc summers to buy a (2) hand-held fan but she was putting in overtime during the heatwave in Italy. Nood kindly gifted me these (3) nipple covers and I bring them with me on every trip! I’ve been on the hunt for a budget and travel friendly steamer, and I can say with confidence this (4) Conair Garment Steamer is the one. It has two voltage options so you don’t blow a fuse (I did this last year with an expensive, cute steamer in Italy :) Since I checked a bag, I packed a lot of my full size products and this (5) Ouai Anti-Frizz cream was a life saver. I posted about a different brands eye patches that were more budget friendly than the (6) Summer Fridays option. I learned my lesson and can confirm that the Jet Lag patches are way more hydrating and worth it for travel. I purchased this (7) Westman Atelier Baby Cheeks Blush stick (mini) during the Sephora sale and I couldn’t get enough of it during my trip! I took any chance I could get to use my (8) Courtney Kinnare Purse Hook!!! While I don’t own this electric colorway, this (9) Longchamp Le Pliage XL Travel Bag is my go-to while traveling in case I need more space on my way back home. When posted about this (10) Gohar Embroidered Lace Envelope and its dual use as a passport holder, I knew I had to ask my fiancé to gift it to me for Christmas! Believe it or not, this was my first pair of (11) Havaianas and I adore the hot pink and mango combo!

Greenpoint - Craving a good lobster roll? Sailor and Siren opened over the holiday weekend and serves lobster rolls, hot dogs, and caviar! They are currently opened Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 12-8pm or until sold out!

SoHo - Wine at Maayan’s is a SoHo Wine & Cheese Bar starting its soft opening on Wednesday, July 8th. You can book a reservation for $20 here (fully credited towards your order).

Noury - an Izakaya and Sake & Wine Bar from the team behind Kiko (I have heard amazing things and still need to try) is now open at 137 Sullivan Street. You can book a reservation here.

LES - The Double Chicken Please team just opened a soft serve ice cream joint (some with alcohol), Unnecessary directly next door to their world renowned cocktail bar. For a limited time, they have a Matcha Grasshopper using Kettl! I’m going this week because it looks insane!

East Village - A new restaurant named Prosciutto?! I’m there. The new twenty seat restaurant is serving cured meats, Tuscan-inspired cuisine, and vino! They are open daily from 5-10:30pm are currently walk-in only.

West Village - Capitaine is a new French seafood tavern from the team behind Chateau Royale and Libertine (which only closed in May). You’ll find a lobster roll, wagyu burger, and steak frites on the menu. You can book a reservation here!

Le Sixth - A French Bistro and the first independent restaurant from Michelin Chef, Phillipe Orrico. They offer a happy hour from Tuesday-Sunday from 5-7pm including half priced cocktails.

Graciela - An Argentine Tavern will open on July 16th at 81 Greenwich Avenue. You can book a reservation here!

Carroll Gardens - Trudie’s Tavern is an upscale casual tavern from the GERTIE and Gertrude’s team. They offer warm pretzel service, rotisserie chicken, and a raw bar! Book a reservation here!

Happy Friday! What an incredible week it has been here in NYC! I’ve been laying low as I prep for my trip to Italy and France next week for my best friends wedding and 30th birthday celebration - which is why there are only two reviews this week!

I was shocked when I realized I had yet to write a review of Kettl, given it’s my favorite matcha in New York City. I used to go frequently visit their Bowery location, but when it closed last Fall it was harder for me to justify the commute to Greenpoint (Inter-Brooklyn transit is SO bad!!!)

They recently announced their summer menu and I of course wanted to try it immediately so I made the trek when the weather was incredible so I could enjoy a ferry ride commute to Greenpoint. I tried the Lychee + Sudachi Matcha Soda and Ice Cream and it was so refreshing, especially for the summer months! Next up: Kettl Matcha Sen Mon Ten for the Summer Melon Fizz with Pandan Koji Cream!

When I think of a wine bar, I don’t immediately think that it will have good food or cocktails. Parcelle is the perfect combination of a well designed space with refreshing cocktails, an array of food options from chunks of parm to yellowtail crudo and pasta dishes and an extensive wine list.

I highly recommend a visit if you are taking a trip to the city or bringing family/friends that are visiting the city this summer, especially if you like dining al fresco and feeling peak European energy.

Fringe is really having a moment right now, and I honestly love it. This (1) Target x Studio McGee Ottoman under $100 is a great way to add a bit of flare into your home. I am heading to Europe next week and I’m eyeing this newly released (12) Rocky’s Matcha Daily Ceremonial Single Serve Packets and (2) Mini Matcha Shaker for my travels! Happy FRIDAY! I took a brief two week hiatus for MDW and my newly released Happy Hour Hit List - Downtown Edition, a comprehensive happy hour guide to over 125 restaurants and bars in Downtown Manhattan offering Happy Hour deals under $15!

New Candy Shops seem to be a dime a dozen these days in NYC, from the original Bon Bon Candy to Little Sweet Treat, Vannest Candy and another player that has yet to open in the West Village, Barnaby Candy.

I must admit, I am not the biggest candy fan but after seeing how well Candor Candy was designed I knew I had to make a trip. I’ve been wanting to spend more time in Fort Greene and this was a great way to start, especially since they’ve recently started serving fresh squeezed lemonade for $5 in addition to their extensive candy offerings. It’s the perfect spot to grab some candy before heading to the movies or a cute housewarming gift!

I was invited to The Bronze Owl this week to try out their new Summer Menu that includes Italian Ice (Shave Ice) Cocktails and Caviar topped Knish and Pigs in a Blanket. I can’t lie, I was skeptical about the location. I don’t typically find myself willingly going to Herald Square unless I am en route to Tonchin.

The Bronze Owl is perfectly tucked away on West 33rd Street and immediately makes you forget about the chaos of the outside world that is Herald Square. The Shave Ice cocktail was so refreshing and a little bit too easy to drink 👀 If you find yourself in the area, be sure to check it out!

My bestie took me to the newly opened High Beam Coffee in Carroll Gardens and now I want to work remotely in their backyard every single day. I tried the Orange Blossom Cardamom Latte and loved it, even if it kept me up until 2am buzzing from the caffeine. They offer plenty of indoor and outdoor seating options, free wifi and coffee under $6!

Everything is under $100! I cannot justify spending $200+ on a bathing suit that I will barely wear, so I am always on the hunt for a two piece under $100! Enter this (1,2) JCrew Bikini Top and Bottom in a scrunchie fabric that looks a lot like Hunza G. These (3) Tory Burch Strawberry Earrings are perfect for spring/summer. (9) Peony Pink Pacific Nike Sneakers to add some color to your workout outfit. This (10) Banana Republic Top is giving vintage Carrie Bradshaw. I don’t love shopping at Zara, but this (11) skirts color combo is perfect.

We have officially entered the final stretch of Spring, although some may say Summer has already begun! The weather is warming up and there is an abundance of new things to do, eat and see in the city!

Greenwich Village - New Matcha Alert!!! Matcha 116 recently opened and has a delicious miso orange matcha latte that is a MUST try! *There is not a lot of seating so be prepared to take your matcha to go!

East Village - Buddies Coffee has found a new home in the East Village after moving out of their Williamsburg space last year!

Chinatown - Soft Hours, A Song Dynasty inspired tea house just opened at 119 Hester Street. They are currently offering tea, sconces and candies!

Head up the block to Phê, a bánh mì cafe that is currently in its soft opening phase on Saturday and Sunday from 12-4pm featuring a small menu of coffee drinks and bánh mì chảo.

West Village - Love Thy Neighbor is a newly opened all day spot (currently only open at night for now) that will serve sushi, cocktails, and tapas.

Dumbo - Maman is officially in Dumbo! I got to try out their latest collaboration with Martha Stewart (Cherry Elderflower Spritz, Chicken Salad Sandwich, and Milk chocolate crème brûlée sugar bun) and they were DELISH! *As a note, this was a gifted experience!

SoHo - Selene is a three-story contemporary Greek restaurant recently opened in the ModernHaus SoHo Hotel. Will any Greek restaurant ever top Kiki’s for me? We will just have to find out.

Nolita - Woodfire Cooking has landed in Nolita at the newly opened Oriana, from the team behind the Noortwyck. The bread and pastry program is supposed to be phenom!

Piccolo Morini will open on June 17th in the former Kimika space as a new iteration of Osteria Morini. The menu will feature $9 martinis at the bar and small plates under $20!

East Village - Bar Kabawa (named one of PUNCH’s Best New Bars of 2025) is celebrating Caribbean Heritage Month with three different chef takeovers!

Greenwich Village - Sommsi, a Modern Pan-Asian restaurant from the team behind Atomix, Atoboy, and NARO opens June 3rd at 79 MacDougal St. You can book a reservation here or try your luck with a walk-in (they hold numerous tables and bar seats for walk-ins every night).

Claudette is re-opening this month after closing last August, official date is yet to be released!

NoMad - Uovo, an Italian restaurant that flies their pasta in from Italy is now open on 28th Street with a tasting menu along with a la carte options!

Dumbo - Titán, a new concept from the owner of Los Burritos Juarez is opening this month at 5 Front Street.

Boreum Hill - One of my favorite restaurants, Inga’s Bar just opened a sister restaurant Lonnies in the former Café Kitsune space in Boerum Hill and it’s already getting rave reviews (I am not surprised). I am currently trying to hold out until my birthday in July but if I am being honest I would like to go RIGHT NOW.

Happy Friday! We are a week out from MDW - if you aren’t venturing out East, it’s a great time to try your luck with extremely hard to get reservation spots around the city (Don Angie, Torrisi, Via Carota, Monkey Bar, the list goes on!)

If you need to know one thing about me, it’s that I absolutely love a tiki bar and rum based cocktails (one of the reasons I chose to get married in Hawaii). Sunken Harbor Club has been on my radar for a few years, and my fiancé and I finally ventured to check it out on a Sunday night thinking we might have better odds of getting in. You typically have to wait in line in Gage & Tollner at 5:00pm to get in. If you go later it’s really a gamble of whether or not you’ll get in!

We were immediately seated and told we had a 2 hour time limit at our table. In that time we ordered two rounds of drinks (any more would have been a mistake). Everything about this place felt like Disney in the best way! The theming of the bar, drinks, music, ambiance - everything felt perfectly orchestrated to make guests feel like they were embarking on a voyage to the fictional island of San Baltazar. You can even become a member by completing 12 out of 36 challenges in the Sunken Harbor Club Passport! They also have a location in Bermuda!

My fiancé saw an Instagram post from Ops saying they had just added a RAMP pizza to their menu and he immediately booked a reservation for the following day. I don’t mess around with Ramp season, it’s so short lived so you have to take advantage. This was our second time visiting the East Village location and it was just as good as the previous time!

We chose to sit outside (finally, omg) and started our meal with some olives. Our pizza took a bit to come out but it was worth the wait - the ramps were so tasty! Not to mention, it was a perfect budget friendly date night with the total coming to $50 for the two of us (we didn’t drink).

Manjul is my new go-to spot to work remotely! The space is gorgeous, ambiance is nice and the baristas are so kind. They recently added a Heirloom Tomato Croissant to their menu and it’s insane - if you do anything, please try this croissant. I have tried their matcha latte’s a few times now, and they just aren’t for me (too milky). They also have a Yuzu matcha that is really good if you like Yuzu!

I’m declaring it a pink pants summer simply because I am swooning over this (1) Chaan Luu Techno Barrel Taffeta Pant in Rose! Does your purse always fall off the back of your chair while at dinner? Fix it with this (2) Courtney Kinnare Studio Purse Hook! I don’t even use lighters regularly but I want to wear this (3) Edie Parker x La Isla Moda Crossbody Lighter Case. I love a colorful robe, and this (4) Brooklinen x DedCool Plush Robe & Pillow Spray set is the perfect way to elevate your every day routine. It’s also currently on sale for MDW! If Aquamarine (2006) was a bag, it would be this (5) one with aqua beads and shells - surprisingly from TJMaxx and $40!!! This (6) Renggli tank might be my favorite fabric and color combo I’ve ever laid my eyes on. Did you know bikini charms existed? Me neither, but now I want (7) this Casa Clara one! Add some color to your headphones with this Le Pom Pom x Doen headphones collab (restocking in late May). Yes, another pair of flip-flops! (9) Zebra Print and under $100! I love this (10) dress silhouette on my body type and I was sold once I saw the ladybugs 🐞 (11) Casa Clara bag charm for $26? Yes, please! I have been wearing this pair of White Balloon Jeans on repeat all spring, they are so flattering and comfy!!

Have a great ALMOST first weekend of SUMMER! I will be skipping next weeks post (May 22nd) and will be back on May 29th to recap my MDW weekend!

TGIF! This week’s review rundown includes a restaurant thats been on my list for years (I Sodi), a Bushwick favorite (La Cantine), and a brand new bar in Williamsburg (Kinda Nice).

My best friend got my fiancé and I a gift card to I Sodi to celebrate our engagement and we finally got around to using it, just in time for ramp season! It is almost impossible to get a reservation, so we decided to walk in around 5:15 on Sunday and got seated at the bar almost an hour later.

I was elated to see a ramp pasta on the menu (I love ramp season) and immediately knew we needed to order it, along with the famous lasagna. They were both wonderful, but not my favorite pasta in the city. I was pleasantly surprised with the prices! They weren’t outrageous for the portion sizes. Am I brainwashed from living in New York?

Not much can entice me to go to Bushwick - but when La Cantine has ramps on the menu, you go! I had been once before for a White Lotus Season 3 Finale Watch Party (so fun!) and had been wanting a reason to go back. The rotating menu is full of seasonal specialties, the space is chic and the dessert is some of my favorite in New York. Visit during the day from 8am-4pm for a café vibe and casual menu, or after 6pm Thursday - Monday for their Sunsets concept with natural wine, beer, and European inspired cuisine.

It was recently featured as one of the best restaurants in Brooklyn by Vogue.

I was invited to the Friends & Family night at Kinda Nice, a new bar in Williamsburg by Grand Army industry vets, Patty Dennison and Ally Marrone! The menu includes a Frozen Cherry Cola (my dream, tbh), a Greek Salad Martini, Guava Negroni and Banana Old Fashioned! The drinks were delightful and the space was so cute! If you’re in Williamsburg, be sure to check it out!

I don’t know about you, but I am 100% ready for summer. I finally transitioned my closet to spring and I am only about six weeks away from a trip to Italy and France!!! This (1) chic belt has been on my wishlist for a while and is on sale for $117! I want to add a new necklace to my small jewelry collection and this (2) Ciao Lucia x Eliou one is perfect for summer, and $92.50! I adore a cute set - this (3) Le Bop Tank, and (9) Shorts mixes my favorite colors and looks perfect for Italy! (4) Jon & Vinny’s just dropped a candle and perfume set, I am assuming it smells amazing. Bring the spirit of good hospitality home with this (5) Do Not Disturb door hanger with tassels, of course! Another (6) necklace I’d like to add to my collection! (7) SeaShell Inspired Salad Servers under $25? Yes, please! The (8) Staud Reef Bag in Matcha is calling my name. I’ve heard that red flip flops are in this spring/summer, this pair from (10) Massimo Dutti has the smallest heel for the tall girls! Is this (11) Susan Alexandra x McDonald’s collab absolutely unnecessary? Yes! Is it cute as hell? Also, yes! Chocolate Brown meets Baby Blue with this (12) classy dress under $100! I don’t own a (13) Rimowa (yet) but the Magenta just dropped and I can’t stop thinking about how pretty it is! SWOON! Iykyk that is is one of the most iconic covers of Vogue ever? Get it before it sells out! I posted about my dream (15) Tory Burch Heels on TikTok and the comments went CRAZY, so I am doubling down and adding them to this list again because they are that good!!

West Village - Plant-based, Gluten-free café Koké recently opened on April 7th and is already ranked #1 on Beli! Running to try immediately.

Lower East Side - Morgenstern’s is back in action in their former BANANAS space at 2 Rivington St - Hallelujah!

West Village - Casa Piada is not your typical Italian café. Their piada’s are produced in a small town in Italy, shipped straight to New York and stuffed with delicious meats and cheeses. They also have $5 spritzes for happy hour daily from 4-7pm!

Head around the corner after to Myka Greek Frozen Yogurt and get ready to wait in a LONG line!

Midtown - Goop Kitchen has arrived in NYC and their marketing rollout has been GENIUS (see NYC Stylist and IT girl ). They operate out of a ghost kitchen which means there is no seating, just take-out. The current delivery radius is about 1-3 miles from the midtown location with more set to open before the end of the year!

Fort Greene - Candor Candy opened last month at 664 Fulton Street AND they are donating $1 for every Instagram follow to NYC food banks! Can’t wait to stop by!

ALL Locations of Emmy Squared are now offering the Skinny Square - a new take on the brand’s signature Detroit-style pizza, baked in the same blue steel pans, with the same cheese, toppings, and fully caramelized frico edge – but made with about 40% less dough. I’m trying later this week and will report back!

East Village - Tokyo Style Pizza is finally in NYC! Pizza Studio Tamaki opens tomorrow, May 5th - reservations can be made here.

West Village - The team behind Margot and Montague Diner just opened Cleo Downtown, another restaurant joining the rotisserie chicken craze. You can make a reservation on Resy or walk-in!

Midtown - Martini, Whiskey, or Wine? You can have it all at Bar Chimera, a newly opened brasserie by Gracious Hospitality.

Hello MAY! The first day of the month marks the halfway point of Spring - can you believe it?! This past week has made me contemplate whether or not I should own a pair of rain boots.. thankfully it looks like next week is going to be a bit warmer and on the drier side :)

Colbo Next Door opened in November, directly next door to Colbo - an experiential retail space and café. It took me a bit to visit for the first time, and it exceeded my expectations. Although it’s primarily a wine bar, I grabbed an americano spritz and some bar snacks (castelvetrano olives, salumi and pickles) and had the perfect girl dinner with .

They are hosting a pop up this weekend with CAN Family from Copenhagen!

Montauk General Store is easily one of my favorite matcha’s in the city - likely because it’s not easy to come by. Pop-ups have been few and far between recently as Kate gears up to open her first brick and mortar store in Montauk in the next few weeks! Meadow Lane serves Montauk General Matcha and while I’ve tried it, it’s simply not the same as when Kate makes it during the pop-ups!

She is having one this weekend at Edith’s in West Village and Brooklyn! Matcha. SLUSHIES!!!

Isshiki has quickly become one of my go-to spots for a consistently good matcha. Their Lucky Mandarin Cloud Matcha is PERFECT for spring, and I have no idea what I’m going to do when they take it off the menu :/ I love visiting the Ace Hotel location and working out of the lobby after I have therapy around the corner. The Little Italy location is great too if you want to grab a matcha and then a slice of pizza at the newly opened L’Industrie after!

Head to Isshiki on Saturday or Sunday to receive a complimentary matcha mood hand sanitizer from Scent Theory with every purchase!

Picnic season is here! This time of year calls for a chic (1) cooler bag. I have recently started going to Pilates and am rewarding myself with a new workout set once I hit 2 classes per week for 4 consecutive weeks. TGIF! Can you believe it’s already the last Friday of April?! Time is flying and I’m so excited for May and warmer weather. I had an amazing week and crossed a few new spots off my hit list - now let’s get into the reviews!

Aperitivo by Carta opened in Mid-January from the team behind Carta Wine Bar. I was excited to go in for brunch last weekend when they were hosting a pop-up with The Stroll Bag - darling hand-made baguette, wine, and flower bags! I enjoyed a delicious greek salad and strawberry lemon spritz - they were both so refreshing. Other guests were enjoying an afternoon spritz for $16 - not too bad for the West Village! As a note, this was a gifted experience!

Stars Wine Bar, from the owner’s behind Claud and Penny in the East Village opened at the end of 2025 and has been on my hit-list ever since! I had the privilege of hosting a private event here for work and got to enjoy a four-course tasting menu and wine pairing! The space is typically exclusively held for walk-ins and is open from 4-12pm every day!

I’ve been following Rocky’s Matcha since trying it at a Montauk General Store pop-up :’) This is the first of their hosted pop-ups I’ve attended and I have to say I was a bit disappointed in the matcha. I’ve had their matcha at Red Coffee Stand, Awake NY, Community Goods, and Jon & Vinny’s and enjoyed each of them in different ways. Every matcha is not created equal - and that’s okay. The star of the show for me was the Matcha Maritozzi - a traditional Italian cream bun consisting of bread filled with a generous amount of whipped cream!!! My dream, tbh. If you go, I’d recommend the maritozzi and a tin of matcha.

Spring has SPRUNG! I’m ready to add some more color, pattern, and texture into my life with everything I’m hungry for this week 😋

Hello Friday! The temps were giving full on summer this week and I don’t really know how I am going to deal with the 30 degree temps next week… Hopefully this is the final week of up and down weather before it finally cools down and we don’t have to check the weather before booking reservations al fresco. 🤞🏻

Ms. Alice just opened on April 3rd and may easily become a bar that I frequent often, especially because of their happy hour pricing! The Sticky Mango Punch and Yuzu Negroni were both incredible and unique in their own ways. If you want to opt for the rooftop they can guide you to Daintree which is currently in its soft opening. Their cocktails are pricier (thanks to the rooftop views) but it’s well designed and a vibe!

Radio Bakery’s second location in Prospect Heights has commanded a long line since it’s opening in March, 2025. People love to hate on new york city lines, but sometimes you just have to suck it up and wait - this is one that I highly recommend waiting for, especially because the line moves quickly. They know what they are doing with the crowd control! I really like their sandwiches and rotating pastries. They are actually hosting a pop up this weekend with London bakery, Quince!

I’ve been wanting to check out Welcome Home Bakery ever since it opened at the end of 2024 and found out it was opened by two former L’Appartement 4F bakers. I had been working from Apartment Ra’el so when I wanted lunch, I walked a few blocks down to Welcome Home. There options were more limited later in the day but thankfully they still had Mortadella sandwiches with a little pepperoncini on top and slices of Oreo Dirt Cake available! Who doesn’t love a gummy worm in a cake?!

The heat really got to me this week if you can’t tell - I’m already thinking about summer and all the outfits I’m wearing on my trip to Italy and France at the end of June!!

I love raffia, and this (1) Simon Miller bag is so fun and perfect for summer. After visiting Anthropologie and seeing the Farm Rio collab in person, I realized I need to add a few of the pieces (or maybe all of them) to my wishlist. Most notably the (2) trio bowls and (3) embroidered napkins that I’d love to have at my wedding next June. I’m low key sick of flip flops costing $200+, this (4) Ipanema pair has a tortoise strap and is $26! Add some personality to an otherwise simple bag with this (5) Parke x Timeless Pearly bag charm, on sale for $30! A very chic way to wear (6) earrings if you have a second hole piercing!!! (7) Bangles anyone? These colors are perfect for summer! I want to incorporate stripes into my wardrobe more, and these (8) knit shorts are the perfect start! I love a good matching set (9) top, (10) pants - this honeydew color is so perfect! (11) Pink Cardigan to match the striped shorts! (12) Madewell Earrings in the perfect color way again. My dream (13) Cult Gaia bag charm (mini version of clutch I NEED for my wedding). I bought this swimsuit from & Other Stories last summer, and I fear I will need this colorway as well. (14) beaded top, (15) beaded bottoms - currently sold out but you can turn on notifications!!
