Virgo season starts incredibly strong this year for 2 reasons: Mercury returning home on the 25th and a subsequent Mercury Cazimi on the 27th. This homecoming is unique because Virgo is the only sign where Mercury is both in his domicile & exaltation, making this the sharpest, most capable version of the messenger planet we get all year. Enjoy it while it lasts because by this point Mercury has sped up and will only spend ~2.5 weeks here. If you’ve got contracts to sign, logistics to organize, or any other effort that requires precision, planning, or heightened perception, then this is your most ideal window. When Mercury goes Cazimi in the heart of the Sun on the 27th, we’ll enjoy a revitalization of the mind, clarifying any residual confusion from the recent retrograde. If there were ever a day to explore your thought processes and pay attention to your attention, this is it.

The very next day, on August 28th, we’ll have a Lunar Eclipse in Pisces conjunct the North Node. This is the last of its kind for the next ~9 years, and it’s the closing story for any major activity in Pisces until 2033, when Jupiter returns home here. Expect major endings and beginnings to occur as a result—both individually and collectively. For the past 23 years, we’ve had a ton of transits through Pisces (with no breaks in between), including Uranus here between March 2003 - March 2011, Neptune here between April 2011 - January 2026, Saturn here between March 2023 - February 2026, Jupiter here in 2010 and 2022, and multiple eclipse cycles as well. Based on this, it’s worth cross-referencing your birth chart to gain a deeper understanding of the house topics this will culminate for you. For example, if you’re a Virgo Rising like me, then Pisces would be on your 7th House cusp and relate to experiences of “the Other”, relational growth, better boundaries, etc.

The end of August brings two of the most noticeable astrological aspects of the month to their exactitude: Jupiter trine Saturn & Mars square Saturn, on August 31st and September 1st, respectively.

The former aspect is the 1st of 3 fire trines between Jupiter in Leo & Saturn in Aries. All 3 share the benefit of being in resourceful exchange across fire signs, translating to a bolder, more daring type of spirited nature. It’s a leap-and-the-net-will-appear type energy. This first trine, however, is unique in that Jupiter is moving fast and forward while Saturn is moving slow and backward, meaning our instincts to take a leap of faith are heightened while the actual structures to support our landing are still a (re)work-in-progress. Getting it wrong before you get it right is part of the process, so don’t let fear of failure stop you from seizing your moment. Jupiter expands while Saturn sustains, and whenever they’re in a flowing trine, our visions of a bigger & better life gain the scaffolding they need to be built into practical reality. The 2nd & 3rd exact aspects will occur in April & July 2027 so keep in mind that the creative visions taking shape now come with a year-long construction crew attached.

I won’t sugarcoat the nature of this Mars square Saturn aspect… since both of these planets are in signs of their ‘Fall’, this is the most frustrating aspect of Virgo season. Expect dynamic tension between what you want to protect and what you’re trying to build, plus efforts that more easily feel blocked mid-push. Pacing yourself is the best remedy around this time. Give frustration an outlet (e.g. clean house, check off a to-do list, move your body) and rest assured that this is a temporary transit that will pass relatively quickly. Also, the Jupiter-Saturn trine is flowing all the while so this square is like speed bumps on a freeway: supported yet slower-to-move than what we prefer.

September 10th & 11th marks our turning point, with 4 shifts happening inside 36 hours. Mercury flies into Libra, turning our minds toward justice, aesthetics, & our social calendar. Venus spelunks into Scorpio, deepening our desire for raw intimacy, while also entering the shadow of her upcoming retrograde, which begins October 3rd… more on that in next month’s Libra horoscopes. The Virgo New Moon offers a clean start, officially freeing us from the chaos and turbulence of eclipse season. This is a effective window for grounding back into routine with fresh perspective. Plant practical seeds at this time: health commitments, morning routine refreshes, daily habits that make your dreams actually achievable. That same day, Uranus also stations retrograde in Gemini, turning ‘the Great Awakener’ inward for the next 5 months as we each review our relationship to technology, freedom, & the pace of changes taking place. Don’t be surprised if you feel a sudden urge to act on an impulsive thought or spontaneous invitation around this mid-month period.

On September 17th, Chiron retrogrades back into Aries for the final chapter of a story that began all the way back in 2018. The ‘Wounded Healer’ has spent 8 years teaching us about the wounds of identity, visibility, and our basic human right to take up space. Now, he returns for one last lap lasting through mid-April 2027. Consider who you were in 2018 and how much your relationship to courage has healed since. This final pass is about alchemizing wisdom much more than it is reopening old wounds.

Virgo season ends with a final exam around September 18th, when Mercury in Libra opposes Saturn in Aries. Conversations meet sobering reality, contracts require a second read of the fine print, & feedback can land heavier than usual. Generally speaking, when Mercury aspects Saturn, our thoughts tend to feel weightier, focused on responsibilities and the nature of time. The silver lining in this is that both planets will be in a harmonious aspect to Jupiter in Leo, with Mercury sextile and Saturn trine the Greater Benefic. Any pressure you feel around this time comes with a built-in guide. Practice patience and watch how walls reveal themselves as windows in disguise.

Virgo rules the harvest for a reason: our abundance is never in question, only our willingness to sort what feeds us from what merely fills us. Here’s to the next month of gathering well, wasting nothing, & leaning into acts of service as our fav love language. 💚

This is the question I’ve been asking myself a lot recently, as I’ve been preparing to close out a 12-year chapter of living in NYC. What I’ve been noticing is that I’m not alone in my decision to make a foundational life change right now. The further we dive into this eclipse season, the more conversations I’m having with friends, family, & clients who are navigating their own unfolding redirections, sometimes after years of anticipation. It's helped me begin metabolizing this cycle's core lesson: trading prideful personal will for equitable fellowship.

My goal in this article is to help you better understand & visualize your arc of growth that will spiral out over the course of not just this eclipse season, but the rest of the Leo/Aquarius eclipse cycle through Spring 2028.

Eclipses have been regarded as the most astrologically important periods ever since we could consciously observe ourselves in relation to the starry heavens. Need I mention sacred sites such as Stonehenge, the Pyramids of Giza, Chichen Itza, or Machu Picchu?

In the ancient world, eclipses were looked upon with terror and awe. They were typically viewed as omens of natural disaster, war, and danger to leaders. Unfortunately, there’s no shortage of such examples within this current eclipse season, whether it’s the recent devastating earthquake in Colombia, developments on the war in Iran, or attempts on the lives of corrupt, powerful people. Today, our interpretation of eclipses still carries traces of what our ancestors saw. In the Western tradition, however, they've largely been reframed around a karmic influence that intensifies and stimulates karmic growth.

The North Node is where we’re pushed out of our comfort zone with an appetite to embody self-aware “light-side” qualities of the sign it’s activating. The South Node is where we’re asked to consciously release the “shadow-side” qualities of the sign it’s moving through.

The lunar nodes also move in retrograde motion, which is a key feature to consider because it highlights how their purpose is not oriented around sequential life development or material achievement. Rather, nodal growth centers on the integration of spiritual wisdom, which often pulls us in a direction different from where we thought we would be headed. Eclipse cycles teach us how the soul’s calling can be best actualized and appreciated.

In Aquarius, the North Node pulls us into more innovative, revolutionary behavior, while the South Node in Leo pushes us to shed ego-driven tendencies that inhibit collective progress (e.g.: “it doesn’t affect me, so why should I care?” as an excuse not to take a stand, which inevitably backfires because no one is truly immune from the devastating effects of capitalism & colonialism). For personal reference, you can look back to Summer 2017 - Autumn 2018 for the last time the lunar nodes were in these signs. Or, better yet, when we had the same configuration of the lunar nodes between December 2007 - August 2009.

Key Themes of the South Node in Leo:

• Releasing egotistical tendencies (e.g. instead of planning your reply, try active listening)

• Shedding limiting beliefs related to your ability to create, inspire, & feel joy

• Moving away from the “me in here” vs. “you out there” phenomenon, recognizing universal interconnectedness

• February 17, 2026 - Solar Eclipse in Aquarius

• YOU ARE HERE - August 12, 2026 - Solar Eclipse in Leo

  • At 20 Leo, the exact degree where Mars will station direct on April 1, 2027. These seeds of powerful new beginnings in your creative potential will require flexibility & redirection throughout the Autumn & Winter. Getting it wrong before you get it right will be part of the process. Co-present with Jupiter, this eclipse also wants you to see a bigger picture, envisioning the positive impact your artistic contributions could make if you created from a place of inspired authenticity instead of algorithmic performance.

• February 6, 2027 - Solar Eclipse in Aquarius

  • At 17 Aquarius, this eclipse is almost perfectly conjunct the North Node, amplifying karmic effects both individually and collectively. Ruled by Saturn in Aries, this eclipse carries a core theme of bold restructuring, asking us to be fearless in our pursuit of a new (and improved) ways of living on this planet with one another. When in doubt, seek community. In times of crisis, there are always those ready to show up in support and love.

• August 2, 2027 - Solar Eclipse in Leo

  • At 9 Leo, in a dual-conjunction with both Venus and the South Node, and configured in a profoundly powerful “Cradle Aspect”, this is the most auspicious eclipse in the entire cycle—and the last of its kind for ~18 years. This is where the more intense work of consciously shedding shadow-side Leonine qualities becomes unavoidable.

• August 17, 2027 - Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius

  • The only lunar eclipse in the entire cycle happening at 24 Aquarius. Expect significant breakthroughs & revelations related to the house topics that this activates for you.

• January 26, 2028 - Solar Eclipse in Aquarius

  • At 6 Aquarius, in a perfect conjunction with Pluto, this final eclipse concludes the cycle with a regenerative eruption. While it’s likely that the darkness of this Winter will unearth potent forces, it’s just as likely that we finally find our collective empowerment within the statement “WE THE PEOPLE”.

• March 27, 2028 - Lunar Nodes enter Cancer / Capricorn

Below, you can trace the impact of these eclipses according to your unique rising sign by referencing the pair of houses the lunar nodes are moving through in your birth chart. For example, as a Virgo Rising, I know that the North Node is activating my 6th House of Work, Health, & Daily Rhythms, while the South Node is activating my 12th House of Endings, Closure, & Spiritual Wellbeing.

If you were born between Dec 19, 2007 – Aug 21, 2009, May 23, 1989 – Nov 18, 1990, Nov 3, 1970 – Apr 27, 1972, or Mar 29, 1952 – Oct 9, 1953, then know that your experience of these eclipses will be heightened due to being in an important “nodal return” period, which happens every ~18 years. These are considered pivotal times for personal growth and development. Think of your nodal return as a reconfirmation of your spiritual nature, a calling that emerges from the depths of your soul. To answer our original question, I believe we can channel courage in these times of great endings by leaning on our loved ones and asking for help. In the past, I know I’ve certainly regretted trying to do it all by myself. That Leo pride in self-satisfaction simply cannot compare to the endearing quality of sharing your great transformations with a community that genuinely wants to feel needed and be of service. So, as we continue to move through this eclipse season and the many more to come, I hope that you can find the empowerment to not carry it all by yourself. To revel in the delights of collective progress for the sake of collective healing. And maybe that’s the whole assignment of the next two years: learning, together, that we were never meant to do any of this life stuff solo.

Within 24 hours of the Sun returning to his domicile, we’re immediately thrust into the action. Mercury stations direct in Cancer on July 23rd, releasing the brakes we’ve been riding since late June. It’ll take the trickster planet a week or so to pick up speed again, so if you can, hold off on signing any contracts or committing to significant decisions until early August.

The first major turning point arrives on July 26th, when Saturn stations retrograde at the same time as the Lunar Nodes shift onto the Aquarius / Leo axis. Any planet turning Rx pulls our focus inwards, and in this case, we’re slowing down for the next ~4.5 months to restructure how we balance bold action with measured patience. The Nodal ingress activates a 20-month-long karmic story that promises to simultaneously accelerate our creation of stronger community support systems while we shed ego-centric ways of creating & operating.

These fateful points of destiny & release will also be overlaid on the Jupiter–Pluto opposition that’s at the heart of our historic “Cradle Aspect” (which you can read about in-depth for free here!), emphasizing the depth of fundamental transformation that’s beginning to unfold in whichever houses Leo & Aquarius occupy in your chart. Expect productive tension to build between your need for optimism & faith (Jupiter) and an urge to exert controlling influence (Pluto) as a result.

On July 29th, we reach what I consider the wildest lunation of the year and the energetic summit of Leo season: a Full Moon in Aquarius (conjunct Pluto) on the exact same day as the Jupiter Cazimi in Leo. A cazimi happens when any planet comes into the heart of the Sun, refreshed & purified, and Jupiter only gets this honor in the Sun’s domicile once every 12 years. Whatever seeds of wealth, wisdom, & creativity you’ve planted since Jupiter entered Leo last month will be blessed at the highest level. If there were ever a time to lean into co-creating / manifesting work, then this would surely be it. Break out those vision boards!

The Aquarius Full Moon opposite all that Leo fire brings the individual-versus-collective themes to maximum visibility, culminating a story seeded in the depths of winter during the Aquarius eclipse. Remember that this is only the first chapter though, with 2 more still to come—you’ve got plenty of time to continue watering this flower bed.

Early August is for the personal planets—each one will activate its own version of the auspicious “Cradle Aspect”. Venus enters Libra first on August 6th, immediately opposing Neptune and forming a Grand Air Trine with Uranus & Pluto. Matters of love, beauty, money & relationships receive an invigorating electrical charge as a result. Mercury enters Leo on August 9th, following the same track as the Sun and Jupiter before him. Pay special attention to the ideas & conversations stimulated during Mercury's first week or so here, because they have the potential to reshape entire neural pathways. Mars dives into Cancer on August 11th, softening our collective drive and turning our energy towards matters at home, of protection, & with the people we love most.

Eclipse season officially begins on August 12th with a total solar eclipse at 20° Leo. This particular point in the Zodiac—and in our own charts—requires special attention. It’s exactly where Mars will station direct in April 2027 and it’s where we’ll have a stellium of Jupiter, Mars, & the South Node. A South Node eclipse in Leo asks us to release performative tendencies in favor of integrity-driven authenticity. Where do you find yourself sacrificing what you truly know to be your sacred self because someone else decided that their expectations of you were more important? For some that may be about the expression of sexual identity, while others might relate it to their artistry. New Moons plant seeds, but eclipses prune branches. Repeat after me: I’m ready to let go of that which no longer serves me, my highest path or my greatest good.

Leo season closes on a delightfully bright note when Mercury meets Jupiter in Leo on August 15th. When the Messenger planet unites with the Great Amplifier in the Sun’s own sign, words carry much more weight than usual. Everything you say, think & believe casts a spell. There is genuine power to positive thought, so perhaps let this time be a magical experiment to see what happens when you don't just speak from the heart but actually mean it too.

My intention in this article is to help debunk the elements of “Barbault’s Basket”, or what I’ve called “The Cradle Aspect” out of respect for mundane astrologers everywhere, that have been inflated and/or misinterpreted. I also aim to deliver a cohesive and hopeful take on what’s already happening, and what we can expect in the coming years as this historic alignment continues to unfold, all based on actual historical and mathematical reference points—not clickbait social media fluff.

Some very light personal history before we dive in to establish where I’m coming from—my background in astrology is firmly rooted in what I like to call my “personal bible” AKA Cosmos & Psyche by Richard Tarnas. I was first introduced to horoscopic astrology in 2017, but my voracious appetite that turned into a lifelong career decision was born in 2018 when I first picked this mundane astrology tome up. Written by a cultural historian and published in 2006, this book details 4 of the most significant planetary relationships and their corresponding global effects throughout human history, including Uranus-Pluto, Uranus-Neptune, Uranus-Jupiter, and Saturn-Pluto. It’s the closest my head has been to exploding, and it’s where I’ll be pulling the majority of my citations as we break this cradle aspect down.

Technically speaking, this is the first time in recorded human history we’re witnessing this perfect alignment of all 3 outer planets plus Jupiter in such a precise and auspicious way, however, there are innumerable examples throughout history where we’ve seen piecemeal examples that are what I’m calling “rhyming patterns” to this moment in time. Here’s what’s happening:

• Neptune sextile Pluto — Awakenings of Spirit & Soul — 491/yr Cycle

  • Regeneration of the spiritual, mythic, + instinctual bedrock of civilization. As the slowest cycle of them all, this one turns over the underlying substrate of an entire age, dissolving (Neptune) and putting to death / rebirth (Pluto) the foundational worldview cultures live inside.

  • Real Life Applications: Freud and the discovery of the Unconscious, the Birth of Depth Psychology (Neptune is the psyche, Pluto the buried depths), the discovery of radioactivity and X-rays (literally revealing an invisible, world-altering power hidden inside matter), the Birth of Cinema(!), an occult & spiritualist revival, the spread of the mass ideologies

• Uranus sextile Neptune — The Paradigm Cycle — 171/yr Cycle

  • A reset of the zeitgeist’s imagination, the emergence of new religions, utopian social visions, romanticism, imaginative genius, sacred / divine revelations

  • Real Life Applications: Collapse of the Soviet Union, Globalization, Birth of the Internet, the New Age spiritual wave, “Cold Fusion”, where thinking machines + collective imagination meet in the optimistic applications of AI

• Jupiter sextile Uranus — The Promethean Cycle — 13.8/yr Cycle

  • “Eureka” moments, liberating leaps in philosophical and technological development, the overturning of what everyone previously assumed was fixed, cultural milestones

  • Real Life Applications: AI and Tech boom, surges in robotics, energy, + financial innovation, the Apollo Moon landing, the Dot-Com boom

• Jupiter trine Neptune — Cycle of Creativity & Imagination — 12.8/yr Cycle

  • Spiritual longing, religious revival, artistic inspiration and utopian vision, the cycle of the “bubble”—Jupiter inflates whatever Neptune glamorizes, so speculative manias, financial mirages, & escapism are just as prevalent as extra mercy and grace

  • Real Life Applications: Crypto, NFT, and meme-stock mania (crested and dissolved in classic Jupiter–Neptune boom-and-bust), Machines “dreaming in pictures” a la Midjourney, DALL-E 2, and Stable Diffusion, Nixon cutting the dollar loose from gold in 1971

• Uranus trine Pluto — Cycle of Revolution — 127/yr Cycle

  • Mass upheaval, empowerment of the suppressed, the overthrow of entrenched structures, accelerated evolutionary surges that can not be contained, emancipatory and creative at its best, violent and extremist at its worst

  • Real Life Applications: The Civil Rights Movement, Second-Wave Feminism, Sexual and Psychedelic Revolutions, the French Revolution, the Haitian Revolution, the Communist Manifesto, Abolitionism, the rise of Fascism and the New Deal, the Black Lives Matter Movement, the Occupy Wall Street movement

• Jupiter opposite Pluto — Cycle of Power & Regeneration — 12.5/yr Cycle

  • The plutocrat vs. the crusader, economic + political upheaval, the concentration + transformation of power, great fortunes and great fanaticisms, institutions purged and reborn

  • Real Life Applications: Saturn-Pluto was the 2020 Pandemic, but Jupiter-Pluto was the same year, delivering a historic concentration of power and wealth: trillions in fiscal and monetary expansion, the largest money creation in modern memory, the vast empowerment of the state, big tech, and big pharma, billionaire fortunes surging while whole populations were robbed, and a deep, forced transformation of every power structure. The 2007 cycle crowned the pre-crash global credit and wealth bubble. The 1981 cycle opened the Reagan and Thatcher era of deregulation and market power that reshaped the world’s economy.

As you can hopefully tell, this is anything but an isolated moment or month of events. We’re dealing with extremely slow-moving planets, with Jupiter’s 12-year synodic cycle being the quickest of them all. A majority of what we’re in the thick of now was seeded back in 2020 during the global pandemic, but we can also trace our origin stories back to the 20th century when we had the atomic, alien, and digital dawn. Hell, in certain cases, since we’re dealing with a Neptune-Pluto cycle that takes almost 500 years to perfect, we can even go as far back as the introduction of Heliocentrism and the American, French, and Scientific Revolutions! All this to say, please do not subscribe to any astrologer or spiritualist who claims that July 2026 is the be-all-end-all month of human history. Yes, we are at a threshold. No, we are nowhere near the climax.

From my perspective, perhaps the most critical element of this configuration to highlight and understand is the aspectual relationship happening between each of these outer planets, because they are the most auspicious ones possible. While we’re dealing with chaotic and destructive energies, I whole-heartedly believe that on the other side of this great awakening and restructuring lies a more equal, empowering, and sustainable future for humanity, largely thanks to the series of sextiles + trines. There is still a single opposition aspect at play, however, without that tension we wouldn’t be propelled to make the kind of sweeping changes necessary to bring the Industrial Age to a complete end, as one example. Also, Jupiter in Leo as part of that opposition is an anchor for a rise in hopeful optimism, which you can read more about in my dedicated article called “The Catalyst Transit: How Jupiter in Leo Will Activate a New Global Era” here.

Barbault’s predictions for this “Basket” were also almost startlingly bright, considering he’s notorious for having a much more somber point-of-view. In his later writings (notably his 2014 book), he singled out the Saturn–Neptune conjunction at 0° Aries on February 20, 2026 as the most beneficent configuration of the entire century, calling it “a splendid re-launch of civilization”. He also pointed to “9 ascending planetary cycles running simultaneously” in 2026, the most at any one time in the century, and read that convergence as ushering in a new golden era: more humanistic societies, poverty contained, a collective re-flowering. The Saturn–Neptune-at-the-Aries-point is most likely what lit him up, because a clean conjunction of those two at exactly 0° Aries is extraordinarily rare, roughly the first since the Neolithic Age, so he read it as structure (Saturn) marrying vision (Neptune) to seed an entirely new civilizational cycle from zero. Perhaps what he didn’t account for was the pragmatic reality of how long it takes for a seed this potent to actually spring forth.

A final thought to wrap us up—while this cradle aspect focuses on the alignment and cycles of the outer planets, we’re also still going to see each of the faster-moving personal planets form their own faster versions of supportive alignment over the course of the coming months and years, which is when and where you can expect a more personal experience of profound unfolding to happen. Keep these date ranges in mind (bonus if you know whether or not these planets are your chart ruler and/or time lord):

1. August 6th - 21st, 2026: Venus in Libra Peak

2. August 9th - 17th, 2026: Mercury in Leo Peak

We’ve spent the past three months in a dead sprint—every planet except Pluto barreling forward. Cancer season is where all of this momentum finally takes a well-deserved hydration break. As the Sun crosses into Cancer for the Summer Solstice, delivering the longest, brightest days of the year, we’re paradoxically paired with one of the most tender, inward, home-seeking signs of the zodiac—an annual reminder that quality relational nourishment is the foundation beneath any professional growth worth having. We’re finally arriving at the threshold of a century-defining chapter, where scores of Millenials and Gen Z’ers will help to revolutionize our global landscape, so I find it quite poetic that our entry point is one of familiar feelings and sentimental nostalgia. Not every aspect of our lived experience needs to be reinvented.

The collective tone will shift quite rapidly in the final days of June, when three heavy hitting cosmic events land within roughly 72 hours of one other.

On June 28th, Mars charges into Gemini and within days collides with Uranus—the first time these two have met in this sign in over 85 years—generating lighting-fast technological developments, explosive geopolitical shocks and surprises, and, if we’re lucky, a marked increase in the quality of our communication and transportation abilities.

On June 29th, a Full Moon in Capricorn brings the Cancer–Capricorn axis of home-and-career to a head—a sobering lunation that reminds us how freedom and responsibility are always a work in progress. That same day, Mercury stations retrograde in Cancer, inviting us all to consciously slow down, reflect, and lean into quality time with loved ones. Expect all the familiar re-words—rethinking, reviewing, remembering, resting—but aimed squarely at the tender material: belonging, family, home, lineage, and that which makes us feel safe and secure. The Mercury Cazimi on July 12th is the season’s clearest window for a genuine revelation, and the Cancer New Moon on July 14th, conjunct that Mercury Rx, offers a quiet, soulful reset rather than a fireworks-launch type of a beginning.

Finally, on June 30th, the ‘Greater Benefic’ himself, Jupiter, finally leaves the deep waters of Cancer for the warm stage-lights of Leo. Any one of these could define a month on its own; together, they’re the launch sequence for our new collective reality.

Jupiter’s arrival in Leo completes the Cradle Aspect—a luminous geometric figure formed by four slow-moving planets: Jupiter in Leo, Uranus in Gemini, Neptune in Aries (with Saturn co-present in the same sign), and Pluto in Aquarius. At its heart sits a core tension, the opposition between Jupiter and Pluto—growth, meaning-making, and faith pulling against power, reinvention, and the question of who gets to hold it—and that tension is cradled (or held) by a supportive web of sextiles and trines. Even though the process of embarking into a radically new Age of Air isn’t clean or gentle, we can certainly expect that the outcomes on the other side will reinforce greater collective freedoms and equalities, in addition to a globally interconnected network of unifying support.

The eras that rhyme with pieces of this pattern—the Age of Revolutions, the Civil War & Reconstruction, the Atomic, Alien, and Digital Dawn—were each hinges on which the world turned. We’re standing at a threshold of that scale (and honestly, beyond). I find that I keep needing to remind myself how friction can birth invention every bit as easily as it can breed division. Where exactly we land isn’t carved in stone—each and every one of us has a role to play in elevating human consciousness.

Remember that this Cradle Aspect is not a silo’d moment, since we’re dealing with outer-planet transits that are slow, patient, and long. July 21st may be the peak, but the ongoing integration and innovation will continue to unfold across the next seven years and beyond, which means you are emphatically not required to have it all figured out by Labor Day. You can think of Cancer season as a runway—a tender, emotionally-driven stretch for tending to your foundations, making peace with your past, and getting honest about what you actually value—so that when the larger story lifts you, you’re building from solid ground rather than scrambling for it.

Below, I’ve broken down exactly how each of these transits will land for all 12 signs. Read for your rising sign, since that’s what most accurately reveals which houses of your own chart are lighting up. While locational astrology has roots that reach back into the Babylonian, Assyrian, and Egyptian empires (est. 2000 BCE - 1000 BCE), “astrocartography” is a relatively modern invention that came about in the 1970’s thanks to the American astrologer Jim Lewis. As our world has become increasingly globalized, and we can travel practically anywhere on the planet at any time, it only makes sense that this modernized system would become so popular. Plus, we have incredible technology that makes astrocartography extremely accessible and easier to understand (you can check yours out for free here!).

Personally, I don’t think that the petition to trademark ‘AstroCartoGraphy’ in the EU will amount to anything seriously concerning, because there’s a strong global consensus among the astrological community that this terminology is a foundational, descriptive term for the discipline of locational astrology. Actually, I’m inclined to think of the saying, “any press is good press”, since more people are now aware that this practice exists and has immense value that’s worth protecting.

Unfortunately, however, with its rise in popularity there’s also been an equal rise in both misinformation and oversimplification. My goal in this article is to help provide you with the basic tools of interpretation for astrocartography and hopefully clarify some of the dos and don’ts in this type of chart reading.

Astrocartography Foundations

1. Do you have a day chart or night chart? Depending on whether the Sun is above or below your AC/DC axis determines whether Jupiter / Saturn or Venus / Mars are on your “team” as malefic and benefic-of-sect. This determines which planets are most constructive vs. destructive for YOU.

2. Which planet is your chart ruler? Just like there was “one ring to rule them all” (sorry, not sorry, I’m in my fantasy nerd era) there is also one planet that stands above all others, which is determined by the planetary ruler of your Rising Sign. For example, if you’re a Virgo Rising like me, then Mercury would by your chart ruler.

3. Do you have any natal placements that are dignified (or adversarial)? You can deep dive into how to find this out by referencing my previous (free!) article called, “The Secret to a Planet’s True Power”. Understanding the quality of each of your personal placements is absolutely critical to your astrocartographical interpretation.

In your birth chart, there are 4 angles representing the most sensitive points of the chart and most important themes in life, which are mirrored by the path of the Sun. The Ascendant (AC) marks dawn, introducing us to the world; the Midheaven (MC) arrives around noon when the Sun reaches its zenith, helping us embody our public image or “career peak”; the Descendent (DC) coincides with sunset and corresponds to “the people we go home to”; and finally, the Imum Coeli (IC) correlates to midnight and our sense of home, safety and rootedness. In astrocartography, these 4 angles are of great importance because every single planet becomes associated with each of these angles, bringing about their respective themes in uniquely pronounced ways depending on where you live, where you’re visiting, and even how you’re channeling far-off cultures in your native environment.

What’s more is that even though you only see one planet and one angle visualized as a ley line in an astrocartography map, you also have an entire chart attached to every single line. If you were born in California but moved to the East Coast in adulthood, then your birth chart wouldn’t necessarily change, but you would update your relocation chart to the new city of residence to see how certain natal placements shift onto different angles of the chart, as well as their varying aspects to other planets in the chart.

In the example above, I’m using my own chart. For the past 12 years, I’ve lived in NYC under the direct influence of my Sun/MC line and the less intense but still applying Uranus/IC line. For reference, each line will have the strongest influence between 0 - 75 miles on either side, but you can extend this up to 300 miles for an expanded band.

I felt a deep pull to the east coast well before I knew anything about astrology, which resulted in me flying to New York with a single suitcase at age 18 for college. Even though I arrived alone without ever having visited before, I remember feeling divinely supported throughout the settling process. As I immersed myself in NYC’s electric energy, I experienced multiple profound moments of becoming—synonymous with the Sun line. Before graduating, I had landed my dream job at Vogue (MC lines often bring major career-related success), met my best friends (now, chosen family), and firmly evolved from small-town kid to big-city (bigger) kid.

My intense appetite for independence and agency has been a trademark of my entire time here, which I attribute to the Uranus/IC line. I’ve moved 8 times in the past 12 years, highlighting the qualities of both excitement and instability in the home environment that the Uranus/IC line often triggers. Last year, I decided it was time for a homecoming, so I’m officially moving back to California at the end of this Summer to live under my Venus/MC line in sunny Los Angeles! Of course, I used astrocartography to help determine where I’d land, and after a preliminary “scouting trip” a couple of weeks ago, I can already feel the softer, romantic, and more stable influence of this line coming into the picture. For context, Venus lines are especially positive for prioritizing love & relationships, financial success, and creative inspiration. The fact that this is an MC line for me means these themes translate into my public image the most. A relationship could be seen as a “power couple” or creativity could be channeled for career-related opportunities rather than personal hobbies, for example.

When you’re investigating your own astrocartography it’s important not to simply see a Venus or Jupiter line and think those are going to be inherently positive or the best for you. If you have your natal Venus in Aries or your Jupiter in Virgo, for example, where these planets are in detriment, you could inadvertently be going somewhere that inhibits your fullest experience of their themes! Or, perhaps you have Venus and/or Jupiter in a hard aspect to Mars and/or Saturn in your birth chart, which would naturally pull that energy into the planetary line you’re examining. This is why it’s so important to first and foremost break down your birth chart in a way that highlights which planets are going to be the most supported, as well as which stage of life you’re in to understand which angles will be most relevant.

In his foundational text, “The Psychology of Astro*Carto*Graphy”, Jim Lewis writes that, “we are born everywhere at once, with the world as our horoscope.” Indeed, in our modern age you are a global citizen, even though you were born in a very specific area of the world. Chances are pretty high that at some point in the next many years you will either travel or move, so why not do so from an informed place of intentionality?

Choosing what to believe in and why is perhaps the most important decision we make in our lives. If our perspective shapes our reality (and it does!), then it couldn’t be more critical to be intentional in shaping one’s life philosophy. This is where Jupiter comes into the picture. We’re on the verge of the most powerful and consequential transit of the year: Jupiter in Leo. What happens when the planet of belief and philosophy enters the sign of the Sun? Keep reading to find out!

Jupiter will officially enter Leo on June 30th, beginning an extra long stay for 13 months, until July 26, 2027. In modern astrology, many would describe this planet as one of growth, expansion, and opportunity, which can be accurate, but I don’t think these keywords give enough credit to the fact that we first have to believe we’re worthy of abundance. If you truly want to tap into the many gifts Jupiter has to offer, then you have to take responsibility for your perspective. Therefore, on a deeper level, Jupiter is actually a planet that helps us believe in ourselves and the powers beyond our limited Self.

Rather than passively waiting to see what the planet has in store for everyone, I suggest using Jupiter’s transit as an invitation to question your mindset. Consider for a moment which of the following beliefs you most resonate with:

The 7 Mindsets: Shaping Your Outlook on Life

• Optimism: The belief that this is the best of all possible worlds, or simply the disposition to expect the best possible outcome in any given situation. Focuses on the positive aspects of life and inherent human potential for good.

• Pessimism: The belief that the worst will likely happen, or that the amount of suffering in the world outweighs the good. Approaches situations with caution, analyzing risks and focusing on what could possibly go wrong.

• Nihilism: The belief that life is inherently meaningless and objective truth or value does not exist. It cuts through illusions of higher purpose, though it can branch into “optimistic nihilism”, which is the idea that a lack of meaning frees you to enjoy life on your own terms.

• Realism: The belief that the physical world exists independently of our minds. It is about accepting things exactly as they are—the good, the bad, and the neutral—without projecting personal bias, hope, or fear onto them.

• Idealism: Rooted in Plato’s philosophy, idealism purports that reality is fundamentally mental or immaterial. It prioritizes concepts, values, and ideas over physical matter, often focusing on what the world should be rather than what it is.

• Pragmatism: The philosophy that truth and reality are determined by what works in practice. Pragmatists test ideas by their practical consequences, focusing on solutions and outcomes rather than absolute, unchanging dogmas. A pragmatist say that, “there is no absolute and unchanging truth, but rather, truth is whatever works.”

• Existentialism: The belief that humans are thrust into a meaningless universe, but possess total agency to forge their own purpose. It invites the individual to take personal responsibility and construct their own meaning and values through their choices.

The position of Jupiter and its aspects to other planets both in the transiting sky and your natal chart will offer insight into why you resonate with certain beliefs. In every placement there is a spectrum of potential, ranging from shadow to light, or unaware to aware. To understand what Jupiter in Leo will bring about for yourself and the collective, we need to explore Leo’s spectrum.

Unlike the burning, igniting fire sign that is Aries, Leo’s fire is held in check by its fixed modality, making Leo less of a wildfire and more like the warmth of a hearth or a campfire. Since the Sun is its ruling planet, Leo is known to embody vitality, generosity, and of course some drama (for the plot). This warm energy can be magnetic, drawing in a crowd; Leos are beloved because they lead with their heart, charismatically inviting others to share in their wealth of spirit. On the shadow side, however, we find Leo stuck in a childlike state, unable to see past his own nose. There’s unfortunately no shortage of examples of this—so many of the people in power today, whether they be politicians or celebrities, seem to find limitless pride in their egotism, while urging those that follow them to inflate their own sense of self-centeredness and conceit to boot.

The upcoming Jupiter in Leo transit will be a reckoning for those who have existed in the shadow end of this spectrum for too long. This is because the South Node will be co-present with Jupiter in Leo throughout the entire transit, being particularly activated during our twice-a-year eclipse seasons. As a point of karmic release and shedding, the South Node will encourage us to identify how and where we can let go of Leo’s shadow side, and thankfully, we have plenty of history and life experience to learn from.

Let’s briefly examine how some of the most recent cycles of Jupiter in Leo played out:

1. July 16, 2014 – August 10, 2015: A period colored by surging social media, creative entrepreneurship (e.g. mainstream breakthrough of YouTube celebrities), and the legalization of same-sex marriage.

2. August 1, 2002 – August 26, 2003: A time of celebrity culture expansion, the dawn of “Celebreality”—bringing the public into the private homes and lives of the stars, as well as the start of the Iraq War.

3. August 18, 1990 – September 11, 1991: Artistic movements flourished during this period (“Neo-Pop Art” like Jeff Koons, Activist Art like the AIDS Quilt, etc.), Identity Politics / Culture Wars, and the public debut of the World Wide Web.

4. September 5, 1978 – September 28, 1979: A period emphasizing creative self-expression and identity mixed with rapid social liberalization. The height of Disco. The first “test-tube baby” as a result of successful IVF treatment.

5. September 27, 1966 - October 18, 1967: Seismic shifts in social norms, characterized by the rise of counterculture, escalation of anti-war protests, and intense racial unrest. Beatlemania. The Hippie Movement.

Now, what makes this particular Jupiter in Leo transit so powerful and consequential is the fact that upon its entry, Jupiter immediately activates every single outer planet in their new homes (Uranus in Gemini, Saturn/Neptune in Aries, Pluto in Aquarius), forming what’s called a “cradle aspect” and ushering in the radical new era so many astrologers have been talking about for years. Outer planets move extremely slow, so even though Pluto has been in Aquarius for over 3 years already, for example, we won’t see the full reach or depth of its impact until Jupiter activates it via opposition from Leo. Before we get into what Uranus in Gemini means astrologically it’s important to understand—at least on a surface level—what this planet operates like astronomically.

Uranus is known as the “sideways planet” because unlike any other planet in our solar system, it rotates on its side. Like Venus, Uranus also moves from east to west, whereas the rest of the planets spin in the opposite direction. It takes roughly 84 years to make a full synodic cycle around the Sun, which means that Uranus spends ~7 years total in each zodiac sign. Combined, we interpret these features to highlight the unconventional nature of Uranus that tends to flip our perspectives upside down, while also making a generational impact with its long-lasting transits.

Now, astrologically speaking, Uranus strikes us like a lightning bolt—a flash of inspiration or insight that provides new awareness. It brings breakthroughs and is considered to be the “higher octave” of Mercury, increasing our intellect and innovative abilities. That higher functioning explains how Uranus is able to rule so many seemingly divergent topics, including (but not limited to) astrology, psychic experiences, telecommunications, technology, and space exploration. With such varied predilections, it’s no wonder Susan Miller calls Uranus “The Great Synthesizer,” whose influence brings liberation and coalescence! Its mission is to overturn social norms and helps us move forward as a people.

In Gemini, a Mercurial sign that is known for its curiosity, versatility, dexterity, and cleverness, Uranus sparks a revolution in how we think, learn and communicate. Expect significant breakthroughs in technology, especially related to communication systems and AI. Uranus in Gemini also has the power to rewrite stereotypes related to language, intelligence, and the exchange of ideas. In other words, we will likely see a fight to democratize information, providing the entire world with new ways of accessing free and fair education. Uranus transits are not malefic in the traditional sense, except to the extent that you are unwilling to accept newness and embrace change. Uranus challenges the cemented structures that most people work quite hard to build. This isn’t to say that we shouldn’t be working to create predictability and stability, however, it’s how much we account for the need to adapt to life’s constant changes that determines the real lasting value of our life structures and philosophies.

A couple of worthwhile considerations when interpreting Uranus in Gemini:

• Gemini is a mutable air sign, which is highly compatible with Uranus’s energy, unlike these past 21+ years when he’s been in Taurus, Aries, and Pisces. Remember, Uranus is thought to be the “higher octave” of Mercury, so it’s quite auspicious for Uranus to be in the Air sign that Mercury traditionally rules. To contrast, when Uranus was in Taurus, a fixed earth sign, we experienced more dramatic changes that often felt tectonic in nature, because this zodiac sign has a much more difficult time accepting and moving through change.

  • When Uranus was first discovered, astrologers associated his nature with the sign of Aquarius, which is a fixed air sign traditionally ruled by Saturn. Inherently, this means that when Uranus is in the other air signs of Gemini or Libra, there’s a natural affinity happening.

• Uranus in Gemini doesn’t exist in a vacuum. In fact, immediately after entering this Sign, Uranus will form a long-lasting trine aspect to Pluto in Aquarius, a supportive sextile to both Saturn and Neptune in Aries, as well as another sextile to Jupiter in Leo come July. This is utterly historic as it is extremely rare for every single outer planet to be in positive aspect to one another simultaneously. The last time we got remotely close to this configuration was at the end of the 18th century when Pluto was last in Aquarius and forming a trine to Uranus in Gemini as well as to Neptune in Libra.

  • This can then be interpreted to mean that the types of far reaching changes and liberation Uranus helps deliver over the next 7 years will have decades-long—if not centuries-long—impact, comparable to the American, French and Industrial revolutions.

Key dates to watch:

1. April 23rd - 25th, 2026: Venus comes into a conjunction with Uranus at 29 Taurus before escorting him into Gemini. Especially relevant for Taurus and Libra risings.

2. May 17th, 2026: Mercury enters Gemini and immediately forms a conjunction with Uranus at 1 degrees. Especially relevant for Gemini + Virgo risings.

3. May 22nd, 2026: The Sun enters Gemini and forms a Cazimi with Uranus at 1 degree, which effectively purifies, revitalizes, and clarifies the themes for our first year of this transit. Especially relevant for Leo risings.

4. June 13th - 14th, 2026: New Moon in Gemini activates and seeds new potential for the Uranus in Gemini ingress. Especially relevant for Cancer risings.

5. July 4th, 2026: Mars enters Gemini and aligns with Uranus at 3 degrees. Especially relevant for Aries and Scorpio risings.

6. July 21st, 2026: Jupiter in Leo forms an exact sextile to Uranus at 4 Gemini. Especially relevant for Sagittarius and Pisces risings. Worth noting that since both of these planets move slowly this supportive aspect will actually last for much longer than the single day it goes exact.

7. September 10, 2026 - February 8, 2027: Uranus retrogrades from 5 degrees to 1 degree of Gemini.

8. June 2032: Saturn finally comes into a conjunction with Uranus at 27 Gemini. Especially relevant for Capricorn and Aquarius risings.

Horoscopes for Uranus in Gemini by Rising Sign:

Aries Rising:

For the next 7 years Uranus will be in your Gemini 3rd House, ushering in a variety of changes to your ways of communicating, where your attention gets spent, and even the nature of your relationships with siblings, extended family, neighbors, and other people you meet in your local environment. This can be an especially exciting time for those who are interested in intellectual pursuits such as going to school, taking a course, or learning a new skill. Embracing a beginner’s mindset is of vital importance. Your new flexibility of thought will become apparent as you turn your attention to new interests, particularly those that are Uranian in nature, such as technology, astrology, the sciences, community action, or even the occult. The more outlets you seek out to help you speak your truth, share your interests, and connect with other curious individuals, the better. Undoubtedly, you will meet a spectrum of personalities that expose you to the endless creative possibilities of how to turn thought into form.

Taurus Rising:

Uranus is entering your Gemini 2nd House, which means your experience of economic and material life is due for a makeover. Inherently, you’ll then need to find ways of being more financially flexible. For some this may look like “downsizing” your life, selling your home and/or possessions so that your finances can be more liquid. For others, this transit will correspond to an inner evolution of personal values shifting. One of the clearest ways to understand what you care about is by looking at your bank statements to see where money goes. You get to define your own idea of a “rich life” and that could very well mean that material objects you once valued or possessions that were a priority no longer hold the same meaning. Instead, your definition of abundance may take on other forms, such as more time for leisure or more space to explore. Another common theme with Uranus blowing through this work-related house is a change to the way you earn your livelihood. You may find that entrepreneurship becomes appealing or another industry altogether starts calling your name.

Gemini Rising:

Congratulations, you’ve made it to one of the most liberating and empowering chapters of your life now that Uranus has arrived to your native sign! Over the next 7 years, you’ll find that old limitations you’ve placed on yourself or accepted from others are no longer tolerable, so your need to enact changes that unleash your most independent, fully embodied Self becomes imperative. Relationships that refuse to let you morph into someone new or jobs that inhibit this freedom-seeking behavior will come to an end. If there are any other areas of life where you feel a strong sense that you’re being stifled, then it’s a sign that changes are overdue. Sagittarius Rising:

Over the next 7 years Uranus will be living in your Gemini 7th House, transforming your relationships and the kind of “mirrors” you need to see yourself reflected in. For so many of us, we keep unsatisfying relationships intact because of emotional dependencies, financial ramifications, children, shared assets, etc. and it’s during this type of Uranian transit that it becomes extremely difficult to keep contending with these tensions. For some this may mean divorce, breaking up, or needing different boundaries, however, you shouldn’t interpret this to mean that all of your most important connections will deteriorate. In fact, this extended period is when you’ll see which existing dynamics are capable of growing with you, empowering a lifelong commitment to one another. One of the lesser known aspects of this transit is how it highlights the ways in which your needs can and should be met by others. As a naturally independent person, you may find that it’s during this time it becomes abundantly clear how there are areas of life where you no longer need to (or can) do it all yourself. Durability shouldn’t be the goal at this time, which isn’t to say forming long-lasting relationships is impossible, however, the new connections you form should inspire whimsy and enchantment over seriousness and responsibility. A common theme for this transit is also the experience of having children, which can reopen and reimagine the magical freedom of childhood for the parents.

Pisces Rising:

As Uranus spends the next 7 years in your Gemini 4th House the locus of change will be on your most private, intimate realities, including your home and your relationships with parents, chosen family, as perhaps even partners that have become family. One of the most common expressions of this transit is a relocation or move of residence. For those that are experiencing this effect, I highly recommend booking an astrocartography reading! Since the 4th House deals with our foundations, roots, and ultimately the basis of our being, we know it’s no easy feat to undergo the remodeling that Uranus asks for here. So I’ve spent the past few weeks attempting to channel my frustration and impatience for greener and more golden days into deep spring cleaning. After donating over 50lbs of old clothes, scrubbing over a third (4,000+ pics/vids) of my camera roll, and wrapping up a 2-month long hypnotherapy journey, I feel like I’ve completed the most thorough cleanse of my life. What no one told me before starting all of this was that the hardest part of this process is simply waiting for the next one to begin. The path of integration and healing is often a quiet, inward one, which is why I’m so excited to “spring” into a more celebratory, external expression of the inner alignment that’s been steadily forming these past many months.

Unlike the first 3 months of 2026, April doesn’t have any eclipses, retrogrades, or heavy water-sign emphasis. It’s actually the only calendar month of the entire year where not a single planet is retrograde, highlighting a powerful quality of collective forward momentum. April also features a massive 7-planet pileup (stellium) in Aries—the sign of rebirth—rocketing us into a clearer storyline revolving around the long-term journeys of Saturn and Neptune in this sign (you can dive deeper on that topic in my article “the rebirth of our universal spirit” here). By the end of the month, on April 25th, Uranus will finally ingress into Gemini, where he’ll be for the next ~7 years until 2033. Much more to come on that in my next article!

What stands out most about our entry into Spring though is how Chiron is majorly highlighted in every single lunation from now until June, when it begins a 3 month preview in Taurus. The Aries New Moon on April 17th is perfectly conjunct Chiron. The Scorpio Full Moon on May 1st sees Mercury in Aries come into alignment with Chiron. The Taurus New Moon on May 16th sees Mars in Aries come into alignment with Chiron. The Sagittarius Full Moon on May 31st is ruled by Jupiter in Cancer squaring Chiron. Then, on June 19th, Chiron enters Taurus until September 19th, when he retrogrades back into Aries until April 2027.

Astrologically, Chiron is known as the “wounded healer” archetype, encompassing the full gamut of the physical to the metaphysical and from the terrestrial to the celestial. Remember Danny Devito’s character Phil from Hercules? That’s Chiron.

Discovered in 1977, this celestial body orbits erratically between Saturn and Uranus, meaning it spends different amounts of time in each zodiac sign (an important astronomical detail when interpreting its meaning in your chart). It spends the most time in Aries, where it’s been since April 2018 (approx. 8.5 years in total), while only spending about ~1.75 years in Libra, highlighting how those with Chiron in Libra tend to experience the wounded→healing→healer trajectory earlier on in life than those born with it in Aries.

When we experience things in our lives that are felt as bad, wrong, traumatic, and/or unjust, we call it wounding. The healing journey thus consists of revealing, naming, and dissolving/resolving the issues associated with our wounding. Perhaps another way of framing this is by illustrating how as we grow older, we tend to put on more and more layers of what we “think” we should be. I should be a good son, a great friend, a loving partner, a leader in my field, etc.. As we navigate our healing journey, the need to peel back said layers becomes increasingly important. If we can successfully detach our identity from the temporary nature of our thoughts, feelings, and relational roles, then we can sit in the seat of our eternal consciousness and gain a clearer, more loving view of who we truly are.

Chiron asserts that the healing journey—in our daily lives, as well as within the broader scope of humanity—is about awakening to the perfection of our lives exactly as they are. Or, in other words, learning how to love every aspect of your life unconditionally. In the philosophy of reincarnation, it’s thought that you only bring what you’ve learned to love (heal) into your next life. Much of the work we are called to do when Chiron is activated in our lives involves transcending the physical experience of pain in order to gain a transpersonal perspective, beyond the limitations of our senses.

Let’s look at this from a practical perspective. Speaking broadly, we tend to perceive the negative sides more than the positive when painful, traumatic, and/or negative experiences befall us. If you’re experiencing a hard-to-diagnose medical condition that robs you of the control and independence you’d grown accustomed to, for example, then you’re probably not going to see the benefits, blessings, lessons, or gifts in that adversity right away. The Chironic healing journey is largely about discovering and embracing a greater balance in perspective.

When interpreting Chiron in your birth chart, astrologers would say that Chiron points to the place of your greatest vulnerability / sensitivity / woundedness. Inherently then, we can also say that this is the place of your greatest growth / healing / gifts. Below, I’ve outlined what this looks like across each of the zodiac signs.

CHIRON THROUGH THE ZODIAC SIGNS:

1. Chiron in Aries: Wounds associated with a lack or loss of self-worth. Self-denial. A feeling of not being useful, wanted, or needed. Gifts associated with the realization of the indestructibility of spirit and an ability to remain firmly, yet gently, in your own space / presence, despite the opinions and actions of others.

2. Chiron in Taurus: Wounds associated with a lack or loss of security, trust, and/or abundance. Tendency to cling to material things and values. Gifts associated with understanding the connection between material and spiritual worlds as well as a return to trust that love + abundance will always be there and were never missing.

3. Chiron in Gemini: Wounds associated with feeling unable to communicate well. Insecurities related to not “fitting in” or seeming stupid to others. Gifts associated with learning to love your unique form of intelligence and an ability to communicate with various realms of life—seen and/or unseen.

4. Chiron in Cancer: Wounds associated with a belief that we are unlovable or have been abandoned when once in love. Gifts associated with the recognition that there is nothing but love, that we are loved, and that no part of us is unlovable.

5. Chiron in Leo: Wounds associated with the feeling that we cannot express ourselves; that our life-spark and/or creative impulse has been damaged or is missing. Gifts associated with giving ourselves permission to shine and the acknowledgment that a divine creative principle is our birthright.

6. Chiron in Virgo: Wounds associated with feeling that something is “wrong” with us, being incomplete, disconnected, and/or impure while requiring “fixing”. Gifts associated with the development of healing methods and learning to love ourselves and others exactly as they are—spots and all. The gift of gratitude.

7. Chiron in Libra: Wounds associated with feeling utterly alone. That someone or something is missing in our lives. Gifts associated with the realization that all we need is within us already and that our greatest love story is the one we have with ourselves.

8. Chiron in Scorpio: Wounds associated with feeling ostracized, abandoned, or disconnected from Spirit, often manifesting in a fear of loss and death. Gifts associated with an awakened and powerful loving connection to Spirit. The transcendence of dualism into multiplicity.

9. Chiron in Sagittarius: Wounds associated with a feeling of meaninglessness, loss or absence of inspiration. The existentialist. Gifts associated with the joy of discovery and the realization that both meaning and the divine lies within us.

10. Chiron in Capricorn: Wounds associated with feeling unappreciated, unrecognized, unheard, and/or unseen. Fear that we will never find or know “our place” in the world. Gifts associated with the discovery of our divine purpose / destiny and the training to become a powerful co-creator with the universe.

11. Chiron in Aquarius: Wounds associated with feeling like an alien or outsider, as though home is very far away. The inability to see our place in society. Gifts associated with being able to see the bigger picture. The gift of aloneness in which, paradoxically, we can be in deeper communion with the universe.

12. Chiron in Pisces: Wounds associated with a loss of faith and/or trust in the divine. A deep-seated sense of victimization, betrayal, and/or disenfranchisement by life. Gifts associated with immense intuition and a return to wholeness when the spiritual heart is able to give and receive unconditional love freely.

On a collective level, we haven’t seen Chiron in Taurus since it was first discovered in 1977, so this summer should be pretty interesting in terms of how we’ll be revisiting themes that were very prevalent in the late 70’s/early 80’s. Think increasing environmental awareness and activism as a result of rapid climate change, economic stagflation tied to conservative policies, and the gnawing public need for universal values (e.g. income, gender, racial, + social equality).

Using my own birth chart as an example, I have Chiron in Libra exactly conjunct my North Node. My karmic path of soul growth (North Node) is intimately tied to my healing journey (Chiron) in this lifetime. In other words, the more I heal (love) myself, the more I will be able to move higher onto my path of unique purpose. As I’m also in the thick of my Saturn Return this month, I’ve never been so acutely aware of how effective it can be to work with Chiron as a sort of cosmic bridge between all of the outer planets and their respective lessons.

Perhaps the biggest realization I’ve had related to all of this came from my final hypnosis journey I went on at the beginning of March. After having completed over 10+ hours of hypnotherapy already, covering inner child, somatic, past life and parts work, I had no expectations going in. We ended up in a channeling session where I spoke with the voice of my higher self: Sol. The overarching message was simple and clear: remember that there is immense psychic power and wisdom we ALL hold within us—and can access at literally any time.

For me, this was important to hear because I’ve spent so much of my 20’s seeking others out for validation, guidance, inspiration, and access to what I often felt was “outside” of me. Now, I’m not saying you shouldn’t seek out therapists, channelers, astrologers, or any other type of guide / healer out there. Rather, if you find yourself defaulting to a place of needing external validation for something you already know to be true within yourself, then maybe it’s time to recognize and validate your own personal power.

It’s no secret that there’s a modern pandemic of burnout happening. In so many of my chart readings, and even in my own personal life, we inevitably discuss the ongoing state of emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion that’s being exacerbated by daily (if not hourly!) access to a spectrum of endless suffering and extreme privilege right at our fingertips. This is a relatively new phenomenon for humanity, and yet, I’ve found that there are incredibly effective remedies sourced from history and our very own birth charts.

Before we had modern medicine, humanity looked to nature and the stars for healing wisdom. Up until the 16th century science and spirituality were practically indivisible. The greatest recorded minds in history studied astronomy alongside astrology, religion alongside science, alchemy alongside philosophy. Nowadays, it’s common to wait until one’s health has deteriorated before seeking out medical treatment, but what if we were to reframe preventative care through an astrological lens? What if there is a way to simultaneously treat symptoms of burnout while also safeguarding against future illness? The short answer is that this approach has actually existed for thousands of years—we’ve just forgotten.

It’s largely from Hermeticism, the belief that the universe is fundamentally interconnected and that All is part of one divine, conscious entity, that astrology derives one of its core tenets: the law of correspondence, often summarized by the adage “as above, so below.”

The idea of correspondences is rooted in the belief that hidden natural sympathies exist between objects—and that nothing exists in the material world that does not correlate to something spiritual. To understand the concept of correspondences, it’s critical to recover a magical, rather than mechanical, understanding of our universe. For many of us this may be a conceptual reach, because it requires accepting a cosmology that sees nature in a very different way from how modern science has presented it.

Knowing how Mercury is currently retrograde in Pisces, I could go on and on about these mystical philosophies… but I’d like to focus on offering a practical, tangible approach to the law of correspondences instead. I am a Virgo Rising after all! You see, for thousands of years astrologers have helped healers better understand how to treat issues of both the mind and body. Before I go any further, I want to emphasize that none of this is intended to replace primary physician preventative care. I am not a doctor and this article is intended for educational and informational purposes only.

Astrological correspondences between the Zodiac and human anatomy:

Before you start diagnosing yourself, pause. If your Rising sign is Virgo like me, you’re not doomed to have stomach issues your entire life. That said, this is likely to be a highly sensitive area of the body for you. Many Virgos actually have become gifted nutritionists and dietitians!

Knowing which areas of the body are associated with your Zodiac signs can be quite helpful in holistic care. For example, we know that Leo rules the heart, so if you have birth chart placements in Leo, you may want to opt for a low-cholesterol diet in order to reduce the risk of heart attack—alongside heart chakra focused energetic work.

You can take this concept of correspondence even further by layering in astrological essential dignity—check out my in-depth article on this topic called “The Secret To A Planet’s True Power” here. If you have birth chart placements in what’s called “fall” or “detriment”, then you’re likely predisposed to issues related to the body areas ruled by that planet / sign. Conversely, if you have birth chart placements in what’s called “domicile” or “exaltation”, then you’re likely gifted with preternatural health in the given body areas ruled by that planet / sign.

Using my own birth chart as an example, I have my Saturn in Aries, which is a placement considered to be in Fall (as would you if you were born between March 1967 - April 1969, April 1996 - June 1998, or October 1998 - February 1999). Since Saturn rules Capricorn & Aquarius, we can infer that I am more likely to encounter ailments of the skin, skeleton, teeth, knees, joints, calves, veins, & circulatory system. I can attest this has been my personal experience since as far back as I can remember. As a teenager, I had cystic acne. As a young adult, I found life-threatening skin and teeth issues that could’ve caused melanoma and/or sepsis without treatment. Throughout my 20’s, I’ve worked to reconcile my love of fitness and movement with systemic spinal issues that stem from a scoliosis diagnosis. As you can probably tell, this is a very literal lived example!

As an astrologer of the past 8+ years, I’ve had the benefit of knowing more than most when it comes to how to become mitigate these medical issues using what’s called planetary remediation. In astrology, planetary remediation is the practice of using targeted, symbolic interventions—such as rituals, herbs, lifestyle changes, or charity—to balance, strengthen, or mitigate the influence of specific placements in a birth chart. Rather than solely relying on cosmic awareness, however, I’ve also sought out dermatologists, orthodontists, and PCP’s that have hugely helped resolve most, if not all, of the issues I described above. Now, I’ve officially started my “Saturn Return”, and I rest easier knowing that I’ve tended to as much of what Saturn and his Zodiac signs represent as I possibly can.

The more we pay attention to the synchronicities happening all the time all around us, the more we cultivate a magical, purposeful life free from anxiety of the future and depression over the past.

In early November, I decided to start reading a book that had been recommended by a good friend called Journey of Souls by Michael Newton. Books like this come along once in a lifetime, if we’re lucky. I’d barely scratched the surface before I started having a full body, mind, and soul reaction, as though I was remembering innate wisdom that had been blocked by amnesia for nearly 30 years of my life. As a certified Master Hypnotherapist, he helped his clients move into a superconscious state of mind, where memories of past life experiences, the spirit world, and so much more become clear and accessible without the blockers we experience in our conscious mind. What I found especially fascinating is just how similar each case study was, perhaps because I have my guiding light, the Sun, and chart ruler, Mercury, in Leo in my 12th House, a dark house that deals specifically in these topics. He argues that our immortal soul not only reincarnates to evolve on a karmic journey of spiritual maturation but also experiences a rich process of connection, creation, learning, & exploration in our life between lives. If so many people share the exact same extremely specific soulful experience of death and its immediate aftermath, how can we ignore it?

Now, after waiting for divine timing these past ~3 years, I am finally beginning my own personal journey of hypnotherapy with the remarkable healer that is Leo Max of Restorative Hypnosis. In a 2-month container over the course of 10+ cumulative hours of hypnosis, we’ll explore my subconscious mind, aiming to reprogram limiting beliefs & indoctrinated fears, while also opening a clearer dialogue with my higher self and guides, so that I may enter my Saturn Return period with ultimate clarity of purpose. I will of course be reporting back here once we finish!

It’s no coincidence that this is all happening now either. As a Virgo Rising, I have my Saturn in Aries in another dark house—the 8th. On February 13th, 2026, in the dead of Winter, Saturn will re-enter Aries, activating a 2+ year long Saturn Return story for myself and everyone else born between 1996 - 1999. The 8th House and Saturn here highlight themes of shadow work, sustainable life structure-building, sharing resources, & releasing the foibles of youth. In many ways these themes have already been active for years since we’ve had Chiron, the Wounded Healer, in Aries since 2018, as well as eclipses in Aries/Libra between mid-2023 and early 2025.

After bearing witness to nearly all of my closest friends go through their Saturn Return stories over the past many years, I’ve got mixed feelings about what’s coming. On one hand, I’m deeply grateful for the lessons I’ve learned through their leadership, while on the other hand, I can’t help but feel a little left behind as a late-bloomer into adulthood proper. Most people will begin their Saturn Return story around the age of 27-28, which means that as they enter 30 they are launching not only into a new decade but into an era of self-satisfaction borne from the hardships of this journey. For me, I’m about to turn 30 and am just beginning this process, meaning I won’t “catch up” until I’m closer to 32. Of course, age is really just a number and these are simply musings reflective of my pre-Saturn Return headspace, but I’m quite eager to get into the thick of things if you can’t tell!

As an astrologer, I consider it imperative to clarify that while the dark houses deal in topics that tend to be more challenging relative to those that are more visible (e.g. the 9th, 10th, & 11th houses), that certainly does not mean they are inherently bad or negative! A “dark house” simply means it is a space that isn’t visible to what’s called the “light of life” AKA our Ascendant / 1st House. The dark houses encompass the following:

• 2nd: Self-worth, resources, values, material possessions, & hidden debts or losses.

• 6th: Daily work, physical health, service, pets, & mundane struggles.

• 8th: Our shadow, sex, death, rebirth, shared resources, intimacy, & the occult.

• 12th: Spirituality, subconscious, solitude, self-undoing, & karmic patterns.

The challenge lies in how these areas of life tend to be more difficult to bring into conscious awareness or express easily in the outer world. The reward is thus equally outsized since when we overcome these obstacles, as our external expression is filled with deep and meaningful awareness, rooted in the peace of inner knowing and radical authenticity.

If you’re like me and have many of your personal placements in the dark parts of your chart, then please know that it is an intentional choice made by your eternal soul. Rather than framing astrology through the lens of victimization by the stars, try to see if you can find the purpose these houses offer. After all, what is Winter for if not proving to yourself you can thrive even in the harshest of conditions? Those with the greatest character are most often forged from the heaviest of burdens.

Astrologically speaking, 2026 is the most impactful year of this decade due to the spectacular rare alignment of Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto in what’s called a “cradle” aspect, which will last the entire second half of the year. The hallmark quality of the cradle aspect is one of generating inner equilibrium. It helps to empower our strengths in order to address our vulnerabilities, recognizing the immense effort that’s already been made to get us to this point. Know that each and every one of us will have an opportunity next year to actualize our unique purpose.

SHIFT #1: Neptune + Saturn Re-Entering Aries

• Neptune in Aries: January 26th, 2026 – May 21st, 2038

• Saturn in Aries: February 13th, 2026 – April 12th, 2028

• Neptune + Saturn Conjunction at 0 Aries: February 20, 2026

We’ve been under the influence of the Saturn-Neptune conjunction ever since Saturn first entered Pisces in March 2023, but they won’t perfect their exact alignment until late February 2026, and they won’t fully seperate until Saturn goes into Taurus in Spring 2028.

Some of the key themes of their transit through Aries include working to differentiate what’s real vs. fake, what’s enlightening vs. delusional, what’s clouding our perception vs. helping to sober us up, dissolving unnecessary boundaries that restrict authentic connection, as well as increasing curiosity about the grounding power of spirituality.

Neptune in Aries will last for 14 years, marking a generational shift that is especially empowering for those born between 1984 - 1998. While it may be difficult to discern fact from fiction, this long-lasting transit supports leading by example with compassion, pioneering a more adventurous belief system, and following our curiosities with a fighting spirit.

Since these are extremely slow moving planets, we won’t feel their influence at all times. Instead, it’s when they initially ingress into Aries and are then activated by the faster moving personal planets that we’ll feel their energy strongly. Here are the key dates to watch out for:

SHIFT #2: Uranus Re-Entering Gemini

• April 25, 2026 – August 3, 2032

Uranus is the planet that embodies our urge to break free from limitations, often disrupting inauthentic securities we’ve built in order to find greater agency & independence. Uranus spends about 7 years in each sign, and while he’s in the Mercurial land of Gemini, we can expect that there will be incredible innovation on a collective level regarding the ways in which we connect, communicate (virtually + in-person), travel (domestically + internationally), and consume news/media during this transit. At the same time, this transit is an especially powerful one for those living in the USA as it activates a once-every-80-year Uranus return.

Since the birth of the United States in the late 18th century, we’ve consistently seen how the people of this country go through a major revolution aimed at increasing freedoms, equality, and redistribution of power (e.g. American Revolution, Civil War, etc.). This upcoming transit is no different, however, it’s critically important not to let fear of conflict interfere with a vision of freedom. We have never been more poised to work together using the tools of our technological age in order to fight the oligarchy, eliminate the billionaire ruling class, redistribute wealth, reconcile with our colonial history, and envision a world where we can live sustainably on this beautiful planet.

Just like with Saturn and Neptune in Aries, we won’t necessarily experience Uranus in Taurus in peak intensity at all times throughout 2026, so mark your calendars for the below dates when he’s activated:

1. April 24 - May 18, 2026 - Venus in Gemini (especially relevant for Libra + Taurus risings)

2. May 17 - June 1, 2026 Mercury in Gemini (especially relevant for Gemini + Virgo risings)

SHIFT #3: Jupiter into Leo

• June 30, 2026 - July 25, 2027

By far, this is my favorite transit of 2026! While Leo isn’t a sign that Jupiter finds exaltation or domicile in, he still does quite well in fire signs because of the instinctual nature they have towards outward expression, which is often compatible with Jupiter’s desire to facilitate growth and expansion.

When Jupiter leaves nurturing, sentimental Cancer for theatrical, generous Leo, he not only defines the second half of the year but also immediately activates every single other outer planet in their new homes. It’s an incredibly powerful moment that we’ve been slowly building to since 2020 and is the reason why 2026 is the standout year of this entire decade.

Whatever Jupiter touches gets bigger, and when he’s in Leo, our creative inspirations, childlike playfulness, and main character energy get majorly dialed up. On the shadow side, we’ll need to watch out for increased narcissism, egotism, and other issues related to selfish attention-seeking. On the light side, however, our capacity for generosity, confidence, & artistry will swell. This is a powerful opportunity to challenge any limiting beliefs related to your worthiness of being seen, accepted, and celebrated for everything that make you unique. There’s enough spotlight for everyone!

1. June 13 - July 9, 2026 - Venus in Leo (especially relevant for Libra + Taurus risings)

2. August 9 - 25, 2026 - Mercury in Leo (especially relevant for Gemini + Virgo risings)

SHIFT #4: Chiron into Taurus

• June 19 – September 17, 2026

• April 14, 2027 - July 19, 2033

• October 23, 2033 - May 5, 2034

Known as the “Wounded Healer”, Chiron is a celestial body similar in size and shape to Pluto, but closer to Earth so with a shorter (but still wobbly) time spent in each sign. We’ve had Chiron in Aries since Spring 2018, a similar timeline to what’s been happening with Uranus, but Chiron’s influence here has had more to do with the ways in which we aim to heal insecurities / vulnerabilities related to our sense of identity, self-worth, and the right to exist as a human (no matter your ethnicity, gender, sexual preference, etc.).

As we wrap up a 6+ year journey that has helped us to cultivate greater conviction and courage related to whichever House topics Aries activates for you, we’ll also be getting a brief sneak-peek of what the next 7+ year journey will look like with Chiron in the practical, sensory sign of Taurus during Summer 2026. When Chiron is in Taurus, we can expect to address traumas related to our experience (or lack thereof) of stability, money, food, and the natural world. This is not meant to be an isolated process. Chiron is a mentor (remember Phil from Hercules who is based off of Chiron!), so we should all feel encouraged to seek out our guides, therapists, coaches, elders, or wise friends who have experience and expertise with related issues so that we may learn from their insights.

SHIFT #5: North Node into Aquarius / South Node into Leo

• July 26, 2026 – March 26, 2028

The Lunar Nodes of Destiny represent our karmic path of soul growth and evolution. They are similar to Jupiter in that there’s a quality of growth taking place, yet they’re different because this experience is one that largely happens within our inner seat of consciousness rather than as outward expansion. The North Node is where we’re pushed out of our comfort zone and encouraged to embody self-aware “light-side” qualities of the sign it’s activating. The South Node at the exact opposite point is where we’re meant to shed and release the “shadow-side” qualities of the sign it’s moving through.

Since early January 2025, the Lunar Nodes have been activating the Virgo/Pisces axis, asking us to trade overthinking/paralysis-by-analysis (shadow Virgo) for cultivating intuition AKA a greater awareness of the wisdom of our body (light Pisces). You could also interpret their transit as one of quieting inner criticism (shadow Virgo) in order to give the mic to a more compassionate inner voice (light Pisces), which then allows for deeper spiritual self-understanding. This story will continue throughout 2026 as we will still have eclipses in Virgo (3/3/26) and Pisces (8/28/26), however, we will be in their phase of integration as we transition into the axis of Leo/Aquarius.

In Aquarius, the North Node pushes us to increase our innovative, revolutionary actions, while the South Node in Leo offers catharsis and release of naïve, lazy tendencies which inhibit collective progress (ex: “it doesn’t affect me so why should I care” as an excuse to not take a stand, which inevitably always backfires because no one is truly immune from the long-term devastating effects of neo-capitalism and colonialism).

Since 2026 features solely solar eclipses in these new signs, we should expect the themes to be centered on introductions/beginnings to the bigger changes to come in those areas come 2027. Getting it wrong before you get it right is will be part of the process. Remember to be patient with yourself and others, offering plenty of compassion while we figure it out.

When it comes to understanding your birth chart and unique potential, I can’t think of anything more useful or obvious as the interpretation of the angles. That is, how do you show up in the world based on your ascendant, descendant, midheaven, and root (AC/DC/MC/IC) axes. For the purpose of this specific article, I’ll be focusing on the midheaven and root axis (stay tuned for the AC/DC article coming next), as they have a huge impact on our experience of career and family life.

The moment any person is born, there is a zodiac sign coming up over the horizon, which we know as our “Rising sign” AKA one’s personal image. At the same time, there’s a zodiac sign that is setting, which is known as our descendant or the energy of our “relationship image”. The sign that is highest in the sky at that same moment is known as our Midheaven or public image, while the sign that is invisible or lowest below the earth is our root (IC) or private image.

A common symbolism for the MC and IC axis is of a tree, and I think this is a great one, because a tree cannot have big beautiful branches and foliage unless it also has strong and mature roots.

The MC is the highest point in your chart. We look up to it, just as we look up to the sky or top of a tree. We aspire to whatever is described by our Midheaven. If you have a planet near the MC, then it should be known as the most ‘elevated’ planet in your chart and greater importance should be given to it. At the same time, because the MC forms an axis with the IC, any planet on the MC will also aspect the IC and vice versa, meaning a planet on the MC would also describe one’s experience of family, home and all other IC-related topics.

The IC is the lowest point in one’s chart; we have to dig to get to it. This angle represents our own personal history, private image, and where we are coming from, as opposed to the MC which describes where we are headed towards. It is the past in the sense of describing one’s family atmosphere and the qualities of childhood. The IC is our heritage, lineage, foundation, home, family, the place we retreat to and is hidden from public view.

A simple trick for understanding how the MC / IC axis is often expressed is by looking at the themes of Cancer / Capricorn, as these are the 4th/10th signs in the zodiac, respectively. For example, Cancer is a sign that is known to be protective, private, with an instinct for caretaking and nurturing—all of which could be associated with the themes of one’s IC/root. On the other hand, Capricorn is a sign that is known to be ambitious with a determination to achieve and the MC characterizes the themes surrounding our reputation, legacy, and public image.

Have you ever been asked “…and what do you do?” before? It’s a pretty common question that reflects not so much an interest in one’s work as much as a socially-ingrained curiosity about each other’s social position. The answer to this question is often received as an indication of status, prestige, and the role in society. In a way, it’s also asking, “what is your upbringing?” or “what is your class?”. It’s a very MC/IC-coded question that can help percolate a better understanding of not only how these angles are expressed but also how they are intimately connected and affecting of one another.

If you look for the zodiac sign in your birth chart that falls in the same whole-sign house as your Midheaven, then you will find the ways in which you will go about getting to where you want to be. That sign, along with any planets in the same area, will help describe the highest potential and expression of your career/vocation. The same is true for the sign that aligns with your IC. You could also look to the ruling planets and any associated aspects of these zodiac signs for further context clues, but I always recommend booking a reading with an astrologer if you’re already feeling like this is super complicated (I’m available!).

Unlike the AC/DC axis, the MC/IC axis is not exclusively going to fall between your 10th/4th houses. For many people, the MC/IC axis can also land between your 3rd/9th or 5th/11th houses. It’s because of this that I believe it’s extremely important to distinguish the meaning of the MC/IC axis distinct from the Houses. For example, the 10th house has much more to do with your actual career, whereas the Midheaven has a stronger bearing on your public image, which may not actually have that much to do with your work. The MC will show you what kind of public image you want to cultivate, the kind of life you want to live in your older years, and essentially what lies at the summit of your contribution to the world-at-large. In many of my client chart consultations, I will interpret the meaning of the MC as whether or not you want to become a parent, leader, healer, explorer, etc. rather than “this is the one career path you should follow to be the most successful”.

For some people, their public/professional lives revolve around learning and exploration, indicating an ongoing voyage rather than a singular or distinctive action. For others, their period of greatest acclaim may only come after having accomplished their main actions in relative obscurity. Here are some examples of how the Midheaven/Root axis may show up across each of the various House placements:

• MC / IC in the 3rd/9th Houses

  • IC in the 3rd:

    • Your “roots” grow deepest when tied to siblings, extended family (cousins, aunts, uncles), family “friends”, adopted families & local communities

  • MC in the 9th:

    • Your “calling” has more to do with the “journey” rather than the “destination”, such as becoming a Professor, Teacher, Publisher, Lawyer, Traveler, Anthropologist, Religious Leader, Philosopher

• MC / IC in the 4th/10th Houses

  • IC in the 4th:

    • Your “roots” grow deepest in the traditional family archetype or what was bestowed by “default”, where parents and grandparents act as important stewards and the birthplace constitutes a formative foundation

  • MC in the 10th:

    • Your “calling” aligns with a professional / traditional career path, such as working in Corporate, becoming an Entrepreneur, or generally being known for the actions and decisions made when in any work-related field

• MC / IC in the 5th / 11th Houses

  • IC in the 5th:

    • Your “roots” grow deepest with the family you make with your own children or when assuming a parent-like or stewarding role towards the next generation, rather than what was given by an inherited biological family and birthplace

  • MC in the 11th:

    • Your “calling” is often influenced by the fruits of your labors, such as becoming an Activist, Social Worker, Community Organizer, Non-Profit Leader, Influencer, or any other professions that thrive on partnership/teamwork

After facilitating hundreds, if not thousands, of chart readings over the past 7+ years, I have found that career/purpose/foundations/family constitute areas of stress and confusion for so many people. My hope and intention in writing articles like this is that you are able to see that not only is everyone living out their own divine timing, but we also have a cosmic blueprint to reference and work with in order to transmute stress into determination and confusion into clarity. This work is not meant to box or cage you into a finite experience but rather help focus your attention and awareness in a way that amplifies soul-growth.

Everything described in this article is also meant to be used as a frame of reference. There are a multitude of factors to consider if you want to know in greater detail what your “calling” is, how to strengthen your “roots”, etc. For example, the planetary rulers of your Midheaven and Root play a significant role, as well as any potential aspects they are making or that are made to your angles. Not all planetary placements are created equal. Every planet is an actor with its own character, goals and attitude, which means that each planet will have a different experience depending on the zodiac sign (or costume) it’s in. This is what we call essential dignity.

In astrology, a planet can be in domicile (at home), exalted (in awareness), in detriment (far from home), or in fall (embarrassed). For the sake of this article, I’ll only be using traditional rulerships, since the discovery and integration of outer planets such as Uranus, Neptune, & Pluto are a modern addition that play a more generational role.

See below for a full breakdown:

When a planet is in:

• Domicile—it’s at home, where energetic resources flow in alignment with the goals that planet has. Planets are powerful when they’re positioned here.

• Exalted—it’s treated like royalty, or in more modern terms, it’s like you’re visiting your parents, and they’re doing your laundry, cooking for you, helping to take care of your needs so that you can focus on other things. It’s an abundance of energetic resources to capitalize on.

• Detriment—it’s weakened, lacking confidence, due to being in the zodiac sign that is opposite to home. This can make it confusing for the planet to express its natural functions, which then requires creativity, ingenuity & innovation. It can feel as though you are traveling in a foreign country, where you struggle to speak the language, adapt to the local customs, or operate from a place of familiarity.

• Fall—it’s in the sign opposite to its exaltation, meaning it’s weakened in a way where things can feel “disgraceful” or “embarrassing”, testing one’s relationship to shame & authenticity, while also requiring an amount of bravery, mindfulness, & patience.

It’s also very important to note that not every planet is assigned traditional dignity! In fact, most won’t. There are 84 possible configurations of planets to signs, but only 36 of these are classified above. The other 48 possible placements will operate with what’s called “accidental dignity”, referring to the strength or weakness a planet gains from its placement within the birth chart, independent of the sign its in.

For example, there are factors that could “accidentally” influence dignity, including the house placement, aspects to other planets, as well as proximity to the angles in one’s chart (e.g. the ascendent, midheaven, etc.). Unfortunately, since I can’t write a full novel via Substack, I will largely be abstaining from discussing “accidental dignity” here. If it’s something you’re curious to learn more about, let me know in the comments, and maybe I’ll add it to the roadmap!

Before we discuss which placements are most helpful vs. most challenging, I want to emphasize that many of the most successful people in history have a variety of birth chart placements with planets both in detriment + fall. It’s extremely important not to categorize the dignity of a planet as simply “good” or “bad” as it’s all about the context and that kind of dualistic thinking is what keeps us in boxes. Instead, let’s practice critical thinking in a multidimensional way. Remember, perspective is everything.

It’s fair to say that if you have an exalted planet in your birth chart, you’re inherently lucky in respect to whichever placement that is. Whether it’s Mars in Capricorn, Venus in Pisces, Mercury in Virgo or one of the others, these placements are powerful, offering access to a kind of strength that can easily create tangible results. That’s not to say it’s roses and rainbows all the time, however, as all placements regardless of dignity operate on a spectrum of possibility, which means that your self-awareness determines how much you’re able to use this luck to your benefit (or not).

For example, those who have Mercury in Virgo possess an innate intelligence that can allow them to express Mercury’s significations—communication, learning, & analysis—with clarity, precision, and attention-to-detail, making them highly skilled at creative problem-solving, logical reasoning, etc. If they’re unevolved (or lacking self-awareness), then the shadowy sides of this placement come through instead, and that shadow becomes amplified by Mercury’s “strength”. What could essentially be a human mind on the level of AI becomes paralyzed by over-analysis, projecting criticism on oneself and the world around, resulting in anxiety, depression, and a host of other mental afflictions. So you see, just because this placement is “strong” in exaltation doesn’t necessarily mean it’s “good”, as that outcome is largely influenced by your relationship to your inner world. You just gain the benefit of being able to more easily or luckily access the “good”, if you so choose.

Many people who have the majority of their birth chart in domicile or exaltation have grown up with immense privilege. While this may sound nice in theory it usually means that the individual has a more difficult time when met with adversity.

On the other hand, many people who have the majority of their birth chart in detriment or fall will have grown up without many resources available to them. While this may not be the easiest or most comfortable it often shapes an individual who knows how to do more with less, how to find creative solutions to difficult situations, and can eventually gain a type of “mastery” over the planet(s) in question.

My favorite celebrity example to use is Beyoncé. When she released her Cowboy Carter art book earlier this year, she finally announced her exact birth time, confirming her official birth chart:

As you can see, she has her Venus in domicile in Libra, her Saturn exalted in Libra, and her Moon in Fall in Scorpio. Her Sun, Mercury, Mars, and Jupiter are all under the umbrella of “accidental dignity” I mentioned above, since they don’t fall into any traditional classifications of essential dignity.

With two planets strengthened and one weakened, she embodies a formidable blend of energies. The empowered Libra stellium showcases her commanding influence in music, art, & aesthetics. Venus rules our throat and singing abilities, and with her Venus connected to Mercury, Jupiter, and an exalted Saturn, it’s no wonder she has the gifts she does!

Her Moon in Fall in Scorpio explains why she is so private with her personal life. While her abundant Libra energy is very open and heart-forward, especially through her artistry, her darker Scorpio energy shows us how intense, deep, and secretive her experience is off-camera. As she gets older and gains “mastery” of this Moon placement, especially through her relationship to Jay-Z and their children, we can see (and hear!) her emotional intelligence getting stronger with each album she releases.

To wrap things up, I’ll also reference my own chart + personal experience in the spirit of vulnerability, as I have 3 planets in fall and 1 at home:

1. Sun in Domicile (Leo)

2. Moon in Fall (Scorpio)

3. Jupiter in Fall (Capricorn)

4. Saturn in Fall (Aries)

When I first started learning astrology, I remember feeling an intense victim mindset from how every article and book I read talked about planets in fall. On one hand, I finally felt seen and understood, especially when it came to my Moon in Scorpio that had a chokehold on me up until I was around 21. On the other hand, I didn’t have any guidance as to how to transmute the “embarrassment” or “disgrace” my moon in fall was going through, leading me to feel like I was a victim of the cruel will of the universe… forced to suffer in socially unacceptable dark & heavy emotions forever.

Now, thanks to time, experience, and greater perspective, I can see how what I originally viewed as a handicap can actually be a superpower, At first, my intense relationship to my emotional landscape locked me into a vicious cycle of judgment, depression, & social isolation. Now, I’ve learned that this intensity allows me to be not just an empathetic guide, but I’m also able to cultivate potent intuition (AKA innate “knowing”) after years of somatic therapy.

As I get older and prepare for my Saturn Return next year, I also look forward to improving my relationship to both Jupiter + Saturn in Fall. In my 20’s, I’ve been surrounded by so many people who have achieved incredible success by societal standards early on in life. For me, I know that due to my birth chart placements, I’ve been in a relatively “weakened” position to do the same in that timing. That’s not to say I haven’t had successes or accomplishments but rather much of my growth up until now has been internal, helping to prepare me to “meet my moment” in my 30’s and 40’s.

All of this to say, if you can focus your attention to the unseen benefits of a planet in fall or detriment, then chances are you’re more likely to experience them in time. It’s probably thanks to my strengthened Sun in domicile in Leo, but I can’t help but want to see the cup half full. I hope that from this article you can also perceive your own chart, in all its strengths and weaknesses, as unlimited potential. Twice a year, lasting for ~4 weeks each, we experience major endings and beginnings (individually and collectively) in what is now coined as an “eclipse portal.” When the Sun, Moon and Lunar Nodes align with the ecliptic, we see our cosmic lights go out. Eclipses have been deemed the most astrologically important periods ever since humankind has been able to consciously observe itself in relation to the stars. Need I mention sacred sites such as Stonehenge, the Great Pyramids of Giza, or Chichen Itza?

This particular eclipse season, which officially opens on September 1st and will last until September 28th, 2025, includes a total lunar eclipse (super-charged full moon) in Pisces on Sunday, 9/7 as well as a solar eclipse (super-charged new moon) in Virgo on Sunday, 9/21. Both of these eclipses hold significant developments, all of which I’ve outlined below.

In the ancient world, eclipses were looked upon with terror and awe, as the Sun or Moon suddenly disappeared from the sky. They were often viewed as omens of natural disasters, war, and danger to leaders. Today, the interpretation of eclipses still carries traces of what our ancestors saw, however, they have largely been reframed to be about a karmic influence that intensifies and stimulates, for good or bad, the points & signs in our chart that are activated.

Eclipses can only happen when the Sun and Moon are joined with what’s called the lunar nodes. The lunar nodes are the points of intersection between the plane of the Moon’s orbit with the plane of the Sun’s apparent orbit around the Earth, also called the ecliptic. Together, they represent how our past actions have led to current circumstances (south node), which then provides opportunities for personal and spiritual growth (north node).

From a psychological perspective, when the light of our mind (Sun) or the instinctive wisdom of our body (Moon) becomes obscured, something that was normally held under restraint emerges. Eclipses allow us to access what may have been concealed or repressed—what Carl Jung referred to as our “shadow.” This encounter with the hidden (or rejected) contents of our unconscious can help a person integrate the unknown with the known, the dark with the light, and the past with the future.

The lunar nodes also move in a retrograde motion at all times, or in the opposite direction to the planets, which is a key feature to consider because it highlights how their purpose is not oriented around sequential life development nor material achievement. Instead, nodal growth is concerned with the integration of the spiritual life, which can often pull us in a direction different from where we thought we were headed. Its cycle encourages how the soul’s calling could be best actualized and appreciated.

The lunar nodes move through a pair of signs in the zodiac for about 18.5 months at a time, meaning it takes ~18-19 years to complete a full cycle. It’s important to consider how each eclipse season fits into the 18-month cycle, because not all eclipses are created equal.

The opening eclipses introduce us to themes and areas of life where we’ll need to grow on a soul-level, while also letting go of what’s taking up too much space. The ending eclipses tend to be less destabilizing since by that point we’re focused on integrating changes that have already been set in motion. In the middle, which is where we’re currently at in this September 2025 season, we reach a peak experience of fated events that are characterized by accelerated, unpredictable changes and turning-point decision making.

In September 2024, when this current cycle started between Virgo and Pisces, we had a partial lunar eclipse in Pisces but no activity in Virgo. Earlier this year, in March 2025, we had a total lunar eclipse in Virgo but no activity in Pisces. What makes this Autumn Eclipse Season special is that it’s the only one during the entire Virgo / Pisces cycle that we will have back-to-back eclipses in Virgo & Pisces! By March 2026, we’ll have a final total lunar eclipse in Virgo before a final lunar eclipse in Pisces in August 2026. Then the lunar nodes enter Leo / Aquarius in July 2026, pushing us into a new cycle.

When thinking about how eclipses will affect you personally it’s important to note that we all experience what’s called a “Nodal Return” and a “Nodal Opposition”, which are heightened periods of personal experience within the eclipse cycles, timed to when the lunar nodes are in the same pair of signs where they were when you were born.

• Nodal Return Ages: 18, 36, 54, 72, 90

• Nodal Opposition Ages: 9, 27, 45, 63, 81

Check to see if you have your own north and south node between Virgo and Pisces to determine whether you’re in one of these transits. If you were born 2006-2007, 1997-1998, 1988-1989, 1978-1979, 1969-1970, etc. then this would be you.

These are considered pivotal times for personal growth and development. While the cycles of everyday life immerse us in physical and emotional attachments, nodal transits awaken other values. Think of each nodal return as a reconfirmation of our spiritual nature, a calling that emerges from the depths of our soul.

For everyone, the house that the north node is passing through is where greater conscious understanding and spiritual development is surfacing. This is an area of intake and assimilation where soul growth happens. The transiting south node highlights issues from the past that need to be resolved and disseminated. This is a place of release where the experiences of the past bring insight. Here’s a breakdown of the meaning of the nodal transits through each house:

Using myself as an example, I’m a Virgo Rising with my natal north node in my Libra 2nd house / south node in my Aries 8th. When the lunar nodes finally moved out of Aries / Libra into Virgo / Pisces in January 2025, I felt the relief of no longer being in my Nodal Opposition, which confronted me with all of the ways in which I had built my self-worth and self-esteem on work and relationships that didn’t feel true or authentic.

Now, as I experience the north node in my Pisces 7th and the south node in my Virgo 1st, I’m finding that many of the inauthentic relationships are organically fading away so that I have room for more aligned connection. At the same time, I’m working to release a self-image that has been highly curated so that I’m able to visibly embody not just the best parts of myself but also the messy, chaotic, and dark sides as well.

If there’s one key lesson I’ve learned when it comes to how to navigate eclipse season it’s how important it is to stop resisting or trying to control external outcomes. Instead, redirect that energy to finding inner awareness that allows you to move through change from a place of groundedness. It’s altogether impossible to avoid the changes eclipse season ushers in too. Don’t look away, otherwise the Universe has a harsh way of forcing you into change that is rarely as easeful as when you just flow or prompt it yourself.

When preparing for a chart reading, I first reference what the transiting planets are activating in context to the person’s birth chart. Then, I’ll take a look at their Progressions and perhaps their most recent Solar Return chart. Depending on the type of chart reading the client booked, I may also reference a synastry chart (two birth charts layered over one another for compatibility), a composite chart (two birth charts combined into a singular relationship chart), or even their astrocartography (a birth chart laid onto a map of the world). In astrology, there is a vastness not just in the symbolism and interpretive possibilities of planets, signs, houses and aspects but even to the kinds of charts you can read as well.

No matter what though, especially in the past couple of years, I always make a point to check what Profection Year and Time Lord my client is in, as I’ve come to realize how incredibly helpful & vital Annual Profections are. Simply put, it’s an ancient astrological timing technique that equates every year of your life to an associated house + sign in your birth chart, starting the moment you’re born.

This technique is especially useful when trying to understand what general themes are going to be most relevant for the year we’re looking ahead at. For example, for someone who’s about to turn 30, by referencing the chart above, we know that they’re going to be moving from a 6th to a 7th House Profection year, shifting focus from work towards relationship themes. It’s no wonder that society has long deemed the age of 30 to be one where so many end up getting married! Or, if someone is about to turn 36, we know that they’re shifting from a 12th to a 1st House Profection year, ending a 12-year cycle and likely releasing any remnant aspects of their youth in order to prepare and make space for the adult Self to fully shine.

It’s no coincidence that Profections follow a 12-year cycle either. In astrology, 12 is the most important number. There are 12 zodiac signs, 12 houses, and 12 popularized placements (including Chiron and the Nodes). Twelve is associated with Jupiter, the planet of growth & expansion, because it takes Jupiter 12 years to make a full synodic cycle around the Sun, which is why Jupiter spends roughly ~1 year in each sign and house! This numerological synchronicity clearly tells us that the Profections timing technique is intimately connected to how we individually experience our psychological development in 12-year cycles:

2. Ages 12 - 23: Socializing One’s Self

3. Ages 24 - 35: Building One’s Self (Ego Experience + Experimentation)

4. Ages 36 - 47: Applying One’s Self (Prime Understanding)

5. Ages 48 - 59: Relaying One’s Self (Teaching + Passing On)

6. Ages 60 - 71: Recontextualizing One’s Self

7. Ages 72 - 83: Reflecting on One’s Self

8. Ages 84 - 95: Dissolving One’s Self

The most impactful years of your life will be what’s called your “angular years” or your 1st, 4th, 7th, and 10th house profection years, so pay special attention to those.

First house profection years (12, 24, 36, 48, 60) are the most expansive, life-changing years when opportunities to actualize new motivations tend to be plentiful.

Fourth house profection years (15, 27, 39, 51, 63) are when we do deep internal and foundational restructuring, often dealing with family issues, moving, purchasing a home, etc..

Seventh house profection years (18, 30, 42, 54, 66) are all about starting, ending, or majorly transitioning our most important relationships, whether romantically, friendly, or business-like.

Tenth house profection years (21, 33, 45, 57, 69) bring visibility, focusing on things like career growth, motherhood, and other major life achievements, with a special focus on age 33. Popularly called the “Jesus” or “Buddha year”, this is a period when we really step out into the world as we are, often making significant life changes, receiving greater respect & acclaim, as well as marking a turning point in personal growth.

Profection years can also answer questions like why the ages of 23, 27, 35, and 41 are seemingly more difficult or emotional periods. It’s no wonder, for example, why there’s such thing as a “27 Club”. When we are in our 4th, 6th, 8th, or 12th House Profection years, there tends to be a need to focus on one’s inner experience, tending to mental/spiritual/physical wellbeing, otherwise we attract darkness, imbalance, or worse.

You can take this technique a step further by looking at the Sign that occupies the House that’s activated during the year you’re currently in. I highly recommend downloading the free astrology app “Time Passages” if you don’t already have your birth chart saved! Whatever planet rules that sign will be deemed your Time Lord, acting as an extremely important player for the year ahead.

It’s important to note that this is not a modern technique so modern rulerships should not be used here. Using traditional rulerships, you can find each planetary ruler below:

1. Aries + Scorpio: Ruled by Mars

2. Taurus + Libra: Ruled by Venus

3. Gemini + Virgo: Ruled by Mercury

4. Cancer: Ruled by the Moon

5. Leo: Ruled by the Sun

6. Sagittarius + Pisces: Ruled by Jupiter

7. Capricorn + Aquarius: Ruled by Saturn

I like to think of the Time Lord as a sort of “passenger princess”, sitting next to your Chart Ruler (the planet that rules the sign of your ascendant / rising sign). Your chart ruler never changes and will always be behind the metaphorical steering wheel, guiding you throughout life. Each year, however, a different planet sits in the passenger seat, helping to navigate, determine when and where to make stops, and generally acting as a trigger for important timing that year.

Let’s put it all together! As an example, I’ll use my own birth chart for a reference:

As a Virgo Rising, my chart ruler is Mercury. At the age of 29, I’m in an Aquarius 6th House Profection Year, meaning Saturn is my Time Lord. During this cycle that I’m in between 24 - 35, I’m working on building my ego / self-concept through experience and experimentation, so I know that the how I build sustainable structures in my 6th House areas of day-to-day work, habits, routines, pets, and health will be most relevant.

Since Saturn is a very slow-moving planet, I know that there’s probably not going to be a loy of constant activity happening this year. Instead, it’s when Saturn goes retrograde, direct, changes signs, or becomes activated by a faster-moving planet like Mercury, then my personal timing will be activated, directly affecting the areas of life that Saturn rules for me, which include my 5th, 6th, and 8th Houses, since Saturn rules Capricorn + Aquarius (my 5th + 6th) and is placed in my 8th House.

The timing tends to get pretty literal when using this technique. The day that Saturn stationed retrograde on July 12th, 2025, for example, was the same day my first adopted cat arrived to his forever home, completely restructuring my daily schedule and how I work from home! Next, I’ll be carefully watching what happens when Saturn retrogrades back into my Pisces 7th House of Relationships on September 1st, when Saturn goes Direct on November 27th, when Saturn re-enters Aries next year on February 13th, and of course, when Saturn reaches the exact same spot it was when I was born on April 15th, 2026, triggering the height of my “Saturn Return”.

All of this is to say, don’t sleep on Annual Profections or Time Lords. As a predictive timing technique, they rarely fail to illustrate the ongoing trends, cycles, and themes we experience as we get older. Unless you’re a total genius, have been studying astrology for many years, or were already familiar with this technique, I also wouldn’t expect to fully understand how this all works from a single article. I strongly recommend booking a reading with a professional astrologer (I’m available!) who practices a form of ancient astrology to go more in-depth to your personal birth chart and upcoming timing.

Perhaps the most significant cosmic event of the 21st century is the return of Pluto, the volcanic planet of transmutation, into Aquarius, the revolutionary sign of invention (and the supportive aspects He then forms to every other outer planet). The last time humanity experienced this transit was between 1777 - 1797, and I think we all know the highlights of what happened then…

Pluto entered Aquarius for what will be a 20-year transit officially as of November 2024, but he first started to expose the dark underbelly of our current collective inequalities when he initially entered in March 2023, activating a critical point (0 Aquarius) that was seeded in December 2020 under “The Great Conjunction” of Saturn and Jupiter, which thrust us into an Age of Air lasting for the next 200 years.

During this transit through Aquarius, Pluto aims to radically reconstruct the ways in which we deliver on collective freedoms, future-oriented innovations, and free-thinking social structures.

Pluto was only discovered in 1930, less than a century ago, yet as the outermost planet in our solar system, He was deemed the god of the underworld. In both astrology and modern astronomy, Pluto is a heavenly body associated with mystery. It’s the planet we know the least about, but what we do know is that Pluto transits tend to trigger intense crises, personal and collective, highlighting our primordial instincts, the grieving process, and how we do (or do not) integrate what lies in the deepest recesses of our unconsious. That is feelings of anger, hurt and pain from childhood; greed, envy, jealousy, and other infantile desires for omnipotence and power; unbridled sexual yearnings and ferocious destructive urges. Sound familiar?

Very quickly after Pluto was discovered, humanity began experiencing synchronistic phenomena that has continued well into recent memory, including:

• The splitting of the atom and the unleashing of nuclear power

• The titanic technological empowerment of modern industrial civilization and global military force

• The rise of fascism

• Increased sexual and erotic expression in culture and the arts

• A tangible intensification of catastrophic historical developments, evident in world wars, the threat of nuclear annihilation, and ecological devastation via global warming.

While the transit of Pluto through Aquarius doesn’t guarantee that we will end up in a utopia that permanently ends the above and delivers utter peace & equality, we can see that because it coincides with a trine to Uranus in Gemini and a sextile to Saturn / Neptune in Aries, we’re more likely to enjoy a supportive outcome of greater collective autonomy, enfranchisement, & equalities on the other side, similar to when the Bill of Rights was ratified when Pluto was last in Aquarius at the end of the 18th century and forming a trine to Uranus in Gemini and Neptune in Libra.

Pluto transits are a lot like “Tower” card moments in the tarot. Even when Pluto forms harmonious aspects to other planets like the trine and sextile, we shouldn’t expect that to mean it’s going to be an easy time. Considering we’re working with outer planets, these transits bring as much upheaval as the more challenging conjunction, square, and opposition aspects. Generally speaking, however, with the trine or sextile, we are more likely to be in touch with that part of us which requires rebirth, and therefore we tend to be less resistant to what wants and needs to happen. This slow process, while challenging, is always worthwhile as it allows for wholeness.

One of the reasons why 2025 and the years surrounding it in the 2020’s are so significant is because as each outer planet changes signs in rapid succession, we’re being shown the absolute worst sides of humanity in order to understand how and what exactly the collective “Tower” moments will need to be. Old structures and systems of power make a dying attempt for control but ultimately, as we’ve seen time and time again throughout the cycles of history, the New inevitably takes over, toppling tradition and rebuilding for a vision of the future.

In the Vedic tradition, we see this same force embodied by the Lord Shiva, also known as the destroyer of evil and ignorance. He is revered as a supreme god of destruction, but is also invariably associated with creation, meditation, asceticism, and the path to enlightenment. He is the Lord of Yoga and the Cosmic Dancer, responsible for the rhythm of the universe both within and without—always maintaining cosmic balance.

I could go on and on about the many ways Pluto has found expression throughout cultures and time, but I’ll end with its symbolism as the phoenix, the mythological bird that rises from the ashes, a force that renews after destruction.

These next few years will not always be easy or enjoyable, in fact, more often than not they will probably be intense and devastating as we see the world collapse many systems that have existed for centuries. My hope in writing this is that we do not fear what’s to come. Rather, I hope we prepare to embrace the challenges at hand, knowing that we are all capable of doing hard things! It’s when we remind ourselves that we are resilient creatures capable of the extraordinary that we accomplish what’s never been done before.

Why choose to live in a world of violence, separation, and endless corruptive consumption when we can build a world of peace, connection, and cyclical living where each and every person is given inalienable rights to exist in good health, safety, and love? Unlike every generation before us, we have all of the tools and wisdom to know how to make it so—it’s only a matter of doing the daily work to fight the forces that work against this. In the immortal words of Maya Angelou, “"Just like moons and suns, with the certainty of tides, just like hopes springing high, still I'll rise."

The year 2025 is an incredibly consequential year because we have not one, not two, not even three, but all five outer planets changing signs within the span of only 9 months. The last time we had just three outer planets change signs in the same year was almost 300 years ago, in 1737, and we haven’t had all five change signs so closely together in recorded history.

Today, we’re focusing on perhaps the most intriguing (and confusing) entry point of them all: Neptune and Saturn in Aries. The planet of altruism, idealism, & the imagination, Neptune, is meeting its polar opposite, the planet of structure & boundaries, Saturn, at the birthplace of the Zodiac: the Aries Point (AP), otherwise known as the Spring Equinox or 0 degrees of Aries.

This extremely critical point signifies the transition from an inner state of experience (the womb) to an outer expression (birth), where our collective spirit curiously revives into tangible reality to take action (Aries). While we won’t experience the peak expression of this aspect until February 2026, we are very much feeling the shifting perception of reality it represents now as the two planets prepare to go retrograde in July 2025.

Neptune first entered Aries a couple of months ago on March 31st but due to its retrograde cycle will move back into Pisces in October, meaning Neptune won’t be in Aries “officially” until January 26, 2026.

Saturn has been chasing Neptune for years in the attempt to ground our dreams in reality, since he first entered Pisces in March 2023. More recently, on May 24th, Saturn entered Aries and got extremely close to an exact alignment with Neptune… but not quite. Similar to Neptune, Saturn will retrograde back into Pisces in the Fall, not entering Aries for good until February 13, 2026.

In the almost 200 years since Neptune was discovered (which also happened during a conjunction with Saturn in 1846—literally bringing Neptune to Reality!), astrologers have come to regard the symbolism associated with this planet as both all-encompassing and vanishingly subtle in nature. It’s considered to govern the transcendent dimensions of life, imaginative and spiritual vision, and the realm of the ideal. Neptune rules the invisible and intangible grounds of experience, shaping our consciousness. Its influence is one of dissolving boundaries and structure, merging that which has been seperate. It favors the united over the divided, the timeless over the temporary, the immaterial over the material, and the infinite over the finite.

If you’re struggling to understand how this energy can co-exist with Saturn’s influence, trust me, you’re not alone! The thing about Neptune though is that it is *always* dealing in paradoxical and contradictory themes. It rules both the positive and negative meanings of enchantment, both poetic vision and wishful fantasy, mysticism and madness, enlightenment and delusional unreality.

Saturn, on the other hand, is ultimately the planet that allows us, as individuals and a society, to thrive. Saturn’s wisdom is gained through effortful experience, rather than enlightenment, and as such it represents what we all must go through as mortals to mature. Its rigidity has a purpose: reminding us that there is a limit to everything in the universe, including time.

So what happens when these two radically different forces meet?

There’s no shortage of examples from recent news that showcase the Saturn-Neptune conjunction in action:

1. AI-generated content continues to get more realistic, making it increasingly troublesome to tell what’s real from fake. Test your own perceptiveness by playing the game, “is it real or is it A.I.”.

2. The Rise of the Sober-Curious Movement. Nearly half (49%) of Americans plan to stop drinking alcohol in 2025. As Aries is the sign of the Head, Saturn here encourages us to keep a clear mind, while Neptune supports a clean spirit.

3. Famously, during the last Saturn-Neptune conjunction in 1989, the Berlin Wall fell. Now, we’re seeing man-made borders begin to dissolve again. Expect to see the continued dissolution of false boundaries that restrict or seperate unnecessarily.

4. Religion declines, while spiritualism increases. As we continue to collectively wake up to how organized religion has been created and used to control, manipulate, and exacerbate colonialism, more people turn to an inner experience of the divine. 7 in 10 U.S. adults now describe themselves as spiritual in some way.

   1. Much of this trend can be traced to the public perception of psychedelics as well! Several places in the U.S. have already decriminalized substances like Psilocybin, allowing for more people to experience and understand the innate love and interconnectedness of all life on Earth.

While I could go on and on about the myriad ways these two planets create a cosmic cocktail of change in our consciousness, I’ll instead wrap up by honing in on the most important element of their symbiosis. That is, the intensifying need to go beyond the sense of being a seperate Self in order to merge with something greater.

At its core, Neptune aims to dissolve our Ego, returning us to an enlightened state of Oneness with everything. As we’ve seen, there are many shapes and paths this experience can take and almost none of them are smooth or easy.

Briefly defined, Ego is the sense of ourselves as a seperate individual; our sense of ‘I’. The Ego allows us to define oneself: we are this but not that, we end somewhere and other people begin somewhere else. However, we aren’t born with this Ego sense. In the womb, we are unaware of separateness.

As we approach the rebirth of our collective spirit under the alignment of Neptune and Saturn at the Aries point, we are effectively experiencing the death of capitalism and colonialism, both unsustainable Western structures that have tried to ingrain in us that “I” end in one place and “You” begin somewhere else—what Alan Watts called the ‘me-in-here’ vs. ‘you-out-there’ reality.

However, mystics have always spoken of another dimension of reality in which nothing exists in isolation. Although on the surface ‘I’ may appear different from ‘You’, and a table is not the same thing as a chair, at our deepest levels we all share the same basic Beingness or Oneness. Neptune urges us to dissolve the rigid sense of individuality and separateness (Saturn) in order to rediscover and reconnect to the underlying unity of all life. Cultivating and practicing empathy, not sympathy, has never been more important.

Practically speaking, as we move through early to mid-July 2025 and see both Neptune and Saturn go Rx in Aries, I hope that we pull our fire inward. May we look at the dreams we chase and the masks we wear. It’s easy to confuse impulse for inspiration right now, but true courage lies in confronting where we’ve built castles on sand. These planetary retrogrades demand having spiritual guts: owning disillusionment, recalibrating visions, and daring to fight for what’s real rather than what’s flashy.

Authentic action, not heroic fantasy, is the way forward.

This week’s topic is one that has been burning on the tip of my tongue for many, many moons. It’s also the first of an extended series I’ll be releasing over the course of the next few months since there is far too much to say in a single post, lest it be a novel!

2025 is a banner year because we have not one, not two, not even three, but all FIVE outer planets changing signs within the span of only 9 months. The last time we had just three outer planets change signs in the same year was nearly 300 years ago, in 1737, and we haven’t had all five change signs so closely together in recorded history. We’re in extraordinarily consequential and revolutionary territory, to say the least.

In November 2024, Pluto entered Aquarius for good, where it will reside until 2044 (20 years). Then, in late March, Neptune dipped its toes into Aries, which is technically a temporary transit since it won’t enter the sign for good until January 2026, at which point it’ll stay there through 2038 (12 years). Saturn joined Neptune in Aries in late May and then Jupiter entered Cancer earlier this month. Four out of five outer planets have changed signs, and we’ve already seen so much radical collective upheaval.

Now, we’re standing on the precipice of the final shifting piece of the puzzle: Uranus moving into Gemini on July 7, 2025.

I’m a bit biased because I have Uranus placed pretty well in my birth chart in Aquarius, where it’s comfortably at “home” in modern rulership, however, I still believe it to be the best of the outer planets for how it so consistently delivers change, freedom, creativity, & awakening.

Uranus strikes us like a lightning bolt—a flash of inspiration or insight that provides new awareness. It brings breakthroughs and is considered to be the “higher octave” of Mercury, increasing the intellect and communicative abilities. That higher functioning explains how Uranus is able to rule so many seemingly divergent topics, including (but not limited to) astrology, psychic experiences, telecommunications, and space exploration. With such varied predilections, it’s no wonder Susan Miller calls Uranus “The Great Synthesizer,” whose influence brings liberation and coalescence!

Uranus spends about 7 years in each zodiac sign, taking 84 years to complete a full cycle around the Sun, which interestingly lines up closely to the average human lifespan. Think back to what was happening for you in 2018, the last time Uranus changed signs to move into Taurus, if you’re curious to get a sense of what to expect with this upcoming transit. As a planet of disruption, we often experience the strongest effects of this transit during the ingress period, when it changes signs and highlights where we may feel restricted, inhibited, or outdated.

In Gemini, a Mercurial sign that is known for its curiosity, versatility, dexterity, and cleverness, Uranus sparks a revolution in how we think and communicate. Expect breakthroughs in technology, especially communication and information processing. The spread of radical ideas and perspectives will increase, shifting perspectives and questioning established norms and systems. In the sign of the Twins, Uranus also emphasizes the need for collaboration and connection. If we want to shake shit up, we’ll have to work together.

While it isn’t always a smooth or straightforward process, we are nonetheless encouraged (or even required) to enact significant changes in our lives under the influence of a Uranus transit. When we resist, our deeper Self (in its continual effort to guide our development and unfoldment) is more likely to plunge us into periods of upheaval, trauma, and turmoil.

If we persistently neglect our needs or truths of our nature by not being honest with our deeper Self, then there is a resulting inner disharmony that easily manifests illness, tension, and pain. It’s not that the Self sets up situations which torture us simply for the sadistic fun of it. Rather, whatever the Self brings our way must have some bearing on our growing into what we are meant to become.

Especially as we age, it’s critical to understand and work with the shifts of outer planets like Uranus, so we don’t find ourselves “stuck” or unable to change, forcing our environment to do it on our behalf. On a broader level it’s also helpful to consider that when Uranus was discovered in 1781 (while it was in Gemini), as synchronicity would have it, we experienced three major social revolutions that majorly disrupted the long-held established order of things. In the American and French revolutions, those oppressed rose up to challenge the status quo and existing authority. The advent of the Industrial revolution saw the emergence of major breakthroughs in science, technology, and communication, which dramatically changed the pattern of all life on earth.

Interestingly, the configuration of Uranus in Gemini at the end of the 18th century (1775 - 1783) also coincided with the last time we also saw Pluto in Aquarius, a notable configuration that doubles down on the extremely transformative quality of that time, as well as now.

The question is—how will the revolutions of this modern age take shape, now that we’re in a *very* different time where we can all effectively see and engage with each other and the constant atrocities happening around the world?

Before we get into this next section, an important disclaimer:

The above chart showcases the birth of the United States of America. Notice how Uranus is in Gemini at 8 degrees, a natal placement that is activated by the upcoming ingress between July 2025 - May 2033.

Roughly every 84 years, Uranus returns to the same sign, creating what’s called a “Uranus Return”—a potent reset period that fundamentally changes and disrupts the terrain of the country in question, resulting in a crisis.

1. Most recently, Uranus was in Gemini between 1941 - 1949, coinciding with the involvement of the U.S. in WWII (which began in late 1941). This global conflict greatly influenced the geopolitical landscape, including the U.S.’s role as a world power.

2. Moving further back, Uranus was in Gemini two cycles ago between 1859 - 1866. It was during this period when America had its Civil War, lasting between 1861 - 1865, which fundamentally reshaped the country, coinciding with a period of dramatic social and political upheaval.

3. Finally, going back to when Uranus was discovered and America was founded, Uranus was in Gemini between 1774 - 1781. Of course, we know that this coincides with the American Revolutionary War (1775 - 1783) and the birth of a nation.

It should come as no surprise that we can expect crisis, war, and revolution as we re-enter this territory. Just last night, the rumblings of WWIII began to take place as Trump unconstitutionally declared war on Iran on behalf of Israel (NY Times).

Please know that none of this is said to fear-monger. My intention is to inform in an effort to help us collectively prepare. Alone and unaware, we are helpless. Together and awakened, we are unstoppable. As we make our way into an increasingly chaotic and turbulent time, my hope is that each of us can find ways to work together and with this astrological energy in our communities to inspire hope, agency, freedom, and an end to the seemingly perpetual cycles of violence & destruction.

Also, on a hopefully uplifting note, the current configuration of outer planets is actually quite supportive, meaning Uranus is in a trine to Pluto, while they’re both in a sextile to Neptune and Saturn in Aries. This doesn’t negate their intensity or prevent the devastation that comes when dismantling centuries-old social systems, however, it does indicate that there is a better and more equitable future on the other side of the existing and upcoming conflicts.

The better that we understand how patterns of history have corresponded with the cycles of the planets, in addition to the impact they have on us all individually, the easier it will be to shift our reality into an elevated experience that transcends boundaries, borders, and perceived differences.

Welcome to a new era! Before we dive into all of the juicy wisdom that Jupiter in Cancer has to offer us, I wanted to take a quick moment to say thank you for being here. After spending years trying to consolidate the wisdom of astrological thought into bite-sized social-media-worthy posts, I’m very excited to return to a longer forum that’s more conducive to the fullest & richest understanding of the cosmos. Known as “the giver of gifts”, Jupiter shows us where we can naturally find luck & good fortune in our birth charts, while in the transiting sky he points us in the direction of our growth edge. Jupiter takes 12 years to move through the zodiac, spending roughly a year in each sign. That means about every 3 years, Jupiter will inevitably activate a natal placement in some way, making an aspect which is considered an auspicious moment when Jupiter’s gift-giving tendency is strong, such as the case of Jupiter exalted in Cancer!
