Bad Converseishon’s first anniversary is here and we’re obviously celebrating with Las Argies the only way we know how: complaining! This edition is a revival of fan favorite Libro de Quejas, where we’ll take a moment to bitch and moan about life’s trivial troubles (in a world of much bigger problems). • Today is the first day of the Feria Buenos Aires Directo de Artista (BADA) at la Rural! This fair is one of my faves because you can purchase work directly from the artists, no middlemen (middle-people?) necessary! There’s like 250 different stands to visit! There will also be different activations, food and wine, and more! It runs through Sunday the 30th, but don’t sleep on it, kiddos!

• Last call for bodegones! Well, not exactly but it’s the tail end of the Semana de los Bodegones Porteños! Dozens and dozens of classic BA eateries are participating, which means you can tuck into a milanesa the size of your head before taking a dip in a velvety puré mixto—talk about bliss! Wear your stretchy pants, maybe!

• The 11th edition of Esto es un affair opens tonight in Retiro! Everyone’s favorite multi-gallery extravaganza promises a slew of incredible artists and exhibits! Dive in and have a look around! Go for a drink at Dadá after!

• Who’s ready for a journey of aural ecstasy?! Celebrate the close of two exhibits at Recoleta’s Miranda Bosch gallery with a DJ set by the one and only Ilsa Wolf! Dejame ser tu fantasía is going to bring a dose of much-needed technicolor to one of BA’s most buttoned-up barrios. See you there!

• Ciao, ragazzi! From Rome to Buenos Aires, give a warm welcome to bartender Matías Barrueco, from the Eternal City’s iconic Jerry Thomas speakeasy! He’ll be taking over the bar at Palermo’s Tres Monos tonight, and if I were you I wouldn’t miss it!

• Time to (re)discover one of BA’s most magical pasajes! The charming shops, galleries, and boutiques of Pasaje Rivarola open their doors this evening in an open-air open house that invites you to mix and mingle among a downtown hidden gem!

• Happy anniversary, Otoro! The nigiri + temaki bar (ugh, so good) celebrates its second birthday with of course a nigiri party! Tuck into the special menu while listening to a Japanese vinyl set and sipping on some Durigutti wines, naturally! No reservations, but it will surely fill up—get there early!

• Dos potencias se saludan: In Nuñéz, Ness welcomes Suma for a night that promises to be as delicious as it is cool! In typical hipster fashion there’s no flyer on the Feeds, so just know that it kicks off from 6pm, there will be great food and Traslapiedra wine, and half the people in attendance will probably have bleached eyebrows!

• Hey, queers! Over at Perro Verde Cantina in Palermo, Un Ratito After invites you to take a load off, have a drink (or two), and socialize in community! Who knows where the night will take you from there?!

• Venezuela needs us still! Head over to Chori for a Choripaneada Solidaria x Venezuela tonight! Some of the city’s best chefs are joining forces to fill your bellies and raise crucial funds following the tragic double earthquake that ravaged the country last June. Every chori counts, head out and do your part!

Friday 28 August

• One night only! Everyone’s favorite wine bar, Naranjo, visits Villa Crespo vecina Chuí for an evening of vino, vinilos, and who knows what else! Because you shouldn’t need much of an excuse to dip into their jungle vibe, have a few cocktails and bites, and hang out with your fellow hipsters! Again, no flyer on Feed (guys, get it together!) so check Stories—things start from 7pm!

• Feeling a bit more ~experimental~? Down at the CCK (Palacio Libertad), checkout Ecofonías, a series that brings together ambient musicians with spaces and projections focused on ecosystems, territories, and nature—a fully immersive electronic listening experience! You’ll travel through Argentina’s plains, marshes, geological eras, cosmic sound, and underwater worlds!

• Also happening at the CCK: Tangos by the Orquesta Nacional de Música Argentina! Directed by César Iván Lara, the orchestra will play selected works by Astor Piazzolla as well as other traditional pieces! Oh, and violinist Alejandro Carreño will be there as a guest soloist!

• My top pick of the night: Sofi Tukker at Deseo! This Grammy-nominated electronic duo blends high-energy jungle pop with eclectic Brazilian influences and I swear to god if you aren’t shaking your ass on the dance floor tonight I will never talk to you again!

• More music! At Chacarita’s Artlab, another edition of Círculo de sonido features extended sets by Tres and Carlos Alfonsín! Get ready for a night full of dancing, obvi!

• Back by popular demand: at Palermo’s Maricafé, Guido Roit presents la Biblia Gay! This uber-gay, uber-fun one-man-show is guaranteed to give you plenty of laughs—and gay panic, I’m sure! All past shows have sold out, so hurry up and get your ticket!

• Calling all my indie babes! If you want to teleport yourself to the good old days when millennials still dreamt of realistic home ownership and American Apparel hadn’t yet been cancelled, this is the party for you! • It’s Sunday and you’ve earned a chill afternoon. Down at Lilith in San Telmo, have some wine and listen to live music by Nati Mancini and Lola Rosas! It’s such a perfect spot to see super-talented local artists do their thing in a space that’s almost too charming to be real!

• Also happening in San Telmo: join in the neighborhood walk Cautiverio de Mujeres organized by the Women’s Museum! As you stroll, you’ll learn about the different institutions and power dynamics that work together to infringe upon women’s rights, in Buenos Aires and beyond! I know, not exactly light material but it feels more essential than ever!

• Have you ever thought about partying for a good cause? OK! Over on la Costanera, la Nube is hosting Un TECHO en las Nubes, a benefit for TECHO Argentina, the NGO that funds emergency housing and social integration programs in BA’s most vulnerable neighborhoods! The musical line-up includes Mateo Sujatovic, PALO, Abril Olivera, SOFA, Delfina Campos, Genaro Cobuccio and Vinilos en La Vereda, plus food by La Kitchen, Angel Tacos, and Carnaval!

• Remember when brunch was decidedly not a thing here? Luckily those days are long gone! At Cora Café in Retiro, tuck into a pop-up brunch hosted by Mercedes Femenia and Sofia Gimigliano! The menu sounds like an absolute smash, so don’t oversleep or you’ll miss it! Sunday is also the last day to check out Fernando Trocca’s exhibit at the café, so consider it a cultural/culinary 2x1!

• Head to the barrio of tango for an afternoon of live music! At San Telmo’s Lilith wine bar, las Fuerzas del Suelo are back for another melancholic moment bound to give you goosebumps! If you start to get too emotional, just another another glass (bottle) of wine and you’ll be fine!

• I feel like you don’t go to the cinema enough! Why don’t you remedy that? I highly recommend The Invite (2026) which you can see at Cacodelphia downtown! • Celebrate the Día del Cine Mexicano at el Recoleta! Catch a free screening of Arráncame la vida (2008), also known as Tear This Heart Out! Set in Puebla in 1930, it follows young Catalina Guzmán as she navigates her turbulent relationship with a brutal politician. The film analyzes relationships and love, power dynamics between men and women, and the power of political relationships and corruption!

• Protect the dolls! Do not miss the presentation of Carne de Cañón: Memorias travestis trans de la dictadura 1976-1983 happening at the ex-ESMA this afternoon! Half a century after Argentina’s last military dictatorship ended, it’s more important than ever to remember the stories and the people that endured and why protecting the culture is so essential!

• Sundays are for San Telmo and today especially so: Café Rivas is hosting Mucha Ropa (iykyk) a pop-up vintage fair with soooo many gems! Nearly a dozen sellers and brands will have oodles of items for you to browse, not to mention four different DJs playing tunes to up the vibes! • Friday film screening! At the Sala Lugones downtown, catch Possession (1981) directed by Andrzej Zulawski and starring the inimitable Isabelle Adjani! I took my friends to see this truly iconic masterpiece last year and traumatized them a bit—but in a good way! The film is about the collapse of a marriage, it’s a fantastical body horror tale, an apocalyptic fable, and maybe even perhaps a parable about a world falling to pieces! Go! See! It!

• More movies! At the Auditorio Da Vinci this evening you can watch Apocalypse Now (1979) followed by a chat moderated by two film professors! It’s considered Francis Ford Coppola’s magnum opus, so delight your inner film bro and watch it on the big screen!

• Legendary bar (and BA’s original speakeasy) 878 is celebrating 22 years in business! The Villa Crespo watering hole that’s been host to many a rowdy night is ready to tirar la casa por la ventana and you’re invited to join in the fun! • Time for another wine walk in BA’s bohemian barrio! San Telmo Se Copa is back for an afternoon of vino, empanadas, sidewalk hangs, and overall good vibes! Over 25 bars are participating and you can roam and explore to your heart’s content! This is like a choose your own adventure situation, but boozier and somehow even more fun!

• Alright, Chacakiddos, I haven’t forgotten about you! Strange Brewing’s second location—aptly known as Strange 2—welcomes the boos from Cucha del Pari for a Sunday Funday full of tasty treats, vibey tunes, and plenty of craft beer! I’m thrilled to announce that I’m hosting an event on Wednesday, April 29 at Acuario! The idea behind miércolesb is simple: a cheeky night where queer women can indulge in good wine, good food, and good music… and who knows what other hijinks we’ll get into?!

We’ll be taking over Acuario, my local watering hole (and home to some of the best martinis in town). Wines from Pielihueso will be uncorked and at the ready, and Machu from La Garage is working on a menu of small plates that will blow your sultry little minds.

After feeling frustrated with the limited offering for us tortas here in Buenos Aires, I decided to create an event that I myself would want to attend. Something fun, chic, and eclectic, without involving a boliche playing cumbia or sitting on the floor for an a la gorra poetry reading (not that there’s anything wrong with that!).

An excuse to get together, have fun, get a little drunk, and build community!

• Kick the day off with a hip lil’ Chacarita pop-up lunch! Silvino is visiting Condarco and the menu they’ve put together is all about celebrating fish and seafood! Think ceviche, think squid and kimchi, think grilled prawns, think curry with mussels and lardo! Stop this right now, my stomach is already grumbling!

• Everyone’s favorite techno priest—you might know him as Padre Guilherme—is giving a free live performance tonight in Plaza de Mayo! No, this is actually happening! Set as an homage to the late Papa Francisco, the idea is to bring people together in gratitude, love, and music (of course)! Only in Buenos Aires, people! If you don’t go, we can’t be friends anymore!

• Before going to your Catholic rave, celebrate El Moderno’s 70th anniversary with an evening full of art and music in San Telmo! Check out the museum’s five new exhibits before getting your boogie on to a trifecta of DJ sets!

• Sidra caliente! Tonight at the Palacio Libertad (CCK) we celebrate the living legend that is Moria Casan! Moria, el Misterio makes an attempt to tackle the impossible—defining a woman that’s seemingly lived more lives than all of us combined!

• Local Support in Palermo is hosting the babes from Craft Studio for an evening of DJ sets (house + hardgroove, anyone?), flash tattoos, photo exhibit, food, and more! This is Craft Studio’s first-ever event in Buenos Aires, since they’re typically based in Berlin! Does it get any cooler than that?! I don’t think so!

• OK I have no idea how we’re going to manage to do it all, but let’s try! Down on the Costanera, La Nube is hosting the latest edition of fiesta La Loca, and you don’t want to miss it! If you need more convincing, there’s going to be a B2B set by Camila Isabel and Sergio Bond! It’s almost too good to be true!

Or maybe you just want to learn how it’s done, improve your technique, and have a good time while! Join the Taller de Asado hosted by Belén González in Villa Crespo! From starting the fire, to making the sauces, to prepping the most classic carne characters (chorizo, morcilla, entraña, bondiola, and asado banderita) — plus some picada, vermucito, dessert, and even a SOUVENIR?! You’ll do it all.

• Happy anniversary, el Tambo Afro! Get yourself down to San Telmo to wish the space that celebrates all things Afro-Argentine un muy feliz primer año! There will be raffles, promos, dominoes and board games, drinks, tattoos, and live music—we have no choice but to stan!

• While you’re in that neck of the woods, stay for a stroll through San Telmo Se Copa! Everyone’s favorite neighborhood bar crawl is back for another edition, and all you have do is rent your wine glass, bop around to all the amazing wine bars in the barrio, eat some empanadas, and have a grand old time!
