The kingdom isn’t about a physical reign or external circumstances but about Christ reigning in our hearts.

It’s easy to get distracted by the hardness of our outward life—the emotions, conflicts, and the “outer man” that often rebels and resists God’s work. No matter your age or situation, God’s kingdom is accessible right now, within you. It’s a daily invitation to turn inward—to seek God’s presence in your spirit and allow Him to transform you from the inside out.

In our fast-paced, worry-filled world, it’s easy to become consumed by the daily needs of life—housing, clothing, finances, and responsibilities. Offense is more than just a feeling; it is a spiritual stronghold that can derail the purpose and destiny God has for our lives. From the earliest days of the church, the spirit of offense has been a formidable enemy, working to turn believers away from God’s will and toward self-centeredness. This spirit seeks to trap us, much like a snare, by enticing us to defend our personal opinions, motivations, and desires rather than yielding to God’s purposes.

Jesus clearly warned His disciples about this powerful force. When He revealed His mission to go to the cross, Peter, though filled with revelation, rebuked Him, only to be confronted with the truth that he was being used by the spirit of offense. This spirit is not merely a human reaction but a demonic influence that turns hearts and minds away from God’s kingdom and toward self-preservation and self-defense. It causes division in families, churches, and communities, creating “churches of offense” rather than the unified body Christ intended.

The enemy’s goal is to stop the work of God through us by stirring offense that leads to unbelief, discouragement, and ultimately, separation from God’s blessings. Even those closest to Jesus struggled with it, yet Jesus Himself never bowed to this spirit. Instead, He called His followers to deny themselves, take up their cross, and follow Him in humility and obedience.

The cure for offense lies in coming under the yoke of Jesus—learning from Him, submitting to His leadership, and walking in the peace and rest that come from being yoked with the Lord. This means refusing to be controlled by self-defensive motives, forgiving those who trespass against us, and breaking agreement with the spirit of offense through prayer and the authority of God’s Word.

root. Ask God to reveal hidden hurts or defenses that are blocking your
fellowship with Him. Choose to forgive and release those who have

The tongue holds tremendous power, especially in leadership.
