Sometimes, the One Who “Can’t Shoot” Becomes the Best Shooter in His Unit

How are you, my beautiful, intelligent readers? Good, I hope, or at least the majority of your life is good... the rest will be alright. Amen :)

In today’s article, I’m going to share, yet again, a personal story that was truly meaningful to me and made me much more aware as a person, much more calibrated to notice, to really pay attention, and to hope that others would show me the same grace.

After all, we all need to be seen. And when someone sees us, deeply sees us, it does something so wonderful, so healing to our soul that it can only be matched by the forces of love; Or maybe that is the pure essence of love altogether. Every form of real love, not necessarily the romantic kind, is rooted in this profound ability to see and be seen. To see someone as they are, while also seeing the incredible potential of who they can become. And believing in them.

Believing is the key word here.

As I’ve shared in previous articles about my military service, I served as an infantry instructor, specializing in marksmanship. To give you a better sense of what that role involved, please read my earlier article here: When I was an IDF soldier, I missed the last bus from a remote military base in the desert. Guess who ended up rescuing me? A bus full of devoted Christians!

So, for this mission, I was assigned to the Paratroopers! YAY! I loved going there! Amazing guys, amazing spirit, serious, respectful, and simply lovely!

I even met my “one that got away” on a Paratroopers mission. Not the one I’m about to tell you about though… But that’s a story for another time, probably titled “Tzlil, You’re a Moron” 😄 He is married with children now, so let’s move on… 😉

So, I arrived at my assigned shooting range with my assigned Paratroopers unit for advanced M16 training. At the end of their week with me, which included, among other things, various shooting drills, including shooting while in motion, they would have to pass a versatile shooting test; If they couldn’t complete it with a good grade, meaning excellent shooting abilities and top notch accuracy, they would fail their advanced training. And eight months of incredibly hard work would be... umm, not exactly in vain, but there would be no passing, which meant all sorts of very annoying, very bummer consequences…

And I’m nice and adorable, as you’re very much aware😜but I’m also tough and demanding. Which means there is absolutely NO WAY anyone is finishing this week without a glorious pass and the best shooting grades of all the ranges running in parallel with other shooting instructors. Not because of some competition, but because these combat soldiers would later fight in the most dangerous enemy territory, relying on the shooting skills they acquired with us…

Meaning, when it mattered for real, these skills could be the difference between life and death, between taking down the enemy or getting shot by them. Pretty high stakes, wouldn’t you say? I wanted the soldiers I trained to be the absolute best. And there were no compromises here.

It’s Sunday, and here I am, entering the shooting range. These are soldiers at the end of their advanced training, so they’re not “young,” as we say in Israeli military lingo, or I guess, in English, you would call them “green.” That gives me a lot more room to be friendly with them. Not friends, because you still have to maintain discipline and obedience, but there isn’t that 100% distance you have to keep with the fresh ones, with whom you have to be kind of a b... hahaha. They need to understand they’re in the army, not kindergarten ;)

And I could write an entire article, and maybe I will, about what it means to be a woman teaching these men how to shoot. Not a man teaching them, but a woman. The respect you have to earn from every single one of them, every single week. How good a shooter you have to be because you’re constantly being challenged by them. And, of course, the fact that they haven’t seen home in quite some time and they are... how do I put this politely? Horny as it gets😂 They see you, lose concentration, and yes, it’s funny, but it’s also something you have to be aware of when you’re trying to make them listen… well, what can I say? boys will be boys.

But again, I’m running wild with my associations here and reminiscing, and that’s not within the scope of this article. So I’ll drop a picture here now, and then I’ll get to it ;)

We have a saying in Hebrew for resting after battle. It’s called menuchat halochem, מנוחת הלוחם, which I guess would translate into English as something like “the warrior’s rest.” And so, I managed to capture them in one of those sweet moments, as you can see here 😊

I gathered everyone into a circle around me. Before introducing myself and briefly going over the week’s agenda, I asked each soldier to say his name and share something about himself, whatever he felt like sharing. You know, just to lighten the mood and break the ice.

Some spoke about where they were from. Others talked about how much they missed their girlfriends, or about the exotic destinations they hoped to visit once they had finished their service. The answers varied. It was warm, relaxed, and occasionally funny.

But when we got to Ben (not his real name), all of them said in a choir:

“The one who can’t shoot!” then they burst out laughing.

I watched Ben’s face flush as he tried to smile, though it was clear he was anything but amused. They continued laughing, nudging and tapping him on the shoulder like irritating older brothers teasing the youngest child.

“What? What do you mean by that?” I asked, genuinely confused. What did they mean, he can’t shoot? They had been training for eight months. He had practiced countless times. How could that possibly be true?

“Hahaha, he just doesn’t know how to shoot! You’ll see!” They erupted in laughter again. Ben gave a forced laugh along with them, but I could sense there was more to the story. Something wasn’t right.

After our cheerful little introductory circle, I sent them off to prepare for the shooting exercise: loading the exact number of rounds I had assigned, setting up the targets at the specified distances, and taking care of the rest of the preparations. While they were busy, I approached their two commanders,

“What’s the story with Ben?” I asked. “Why do they laugh at him like that?”

Without hesitation, they answered:

“Because he’s terrible at shooting. We’ve had several meetings with senior commanders about making him repeat the entire eight-month training program with the next intake of recruits.”

“Maybe he shouldn’t be a combat soldier at all,” the other commander added. “He’s that bad.”

I was stunned. How could that be possible?

“He can’t hit anything. He’s a failure. You’ll see in a minute,” they assured me.

Honestly, I assumed they were simply giving him a hard time. There was no way that, after eight months of training, this guy could not hit a single target. No way in hell! But I was wrong.

I miss those army days, checking targets at the range ;)

I won’t build any suspense here guys: Ben did suck... Excuse my French.

Not only could he not produce a grouping (meaning a cluster of bullets landing close to one another, less than five centimeters apart) but he wasn’t even hitting the target. Not once!

Okay, so the process of elimination officially began: I checked his weapon to see whether there was a calibration issue. There wasn’t. It was perfectly zeroed. I fired it myself and hit the target without a problem, so that clearly wasn’t the issue; I replaced it with another soldier’s weapon, but still no luck. He was nowhere close to the target. He was a disaster, exactly as they had promised.

Damn it, watching him stand there so beaten down :( emotionally devastated and being teased by his friends, broke my heart.

Making him repeat that brutally difficult eight-month training program all over again, if they didn’t kick him out of the paratroopers altogether, was not something I was willing to let happen without a fight. There had to be a reason he was failing this badly.

And I was going to find out what it was.

Me again ;) About 17 years ago…

During lunch breaks, I skipped the base mess hall and ate field rations with the soldiers at the shooting range. MREs, as the Americans call them… correct me if I’m wrong. Ben and I would eat quickly and then head back onto the range for some extra training, just the two of us. That was important quality time. Just him and me.

“I’m a lost cause,” he would tell me. “You’re just wasting your time,” he’d declare after every few missed shots. “I’ll never succeed,” he kept trying to convince me.

“Shut up and shoot,” I would respond, correcting his body position, watching his breathing, monitoring his every movement, changing the ranges, trying everything I could think of.

Nothing worked! Zero hits on the target. A banana shooting that weapon would have produced the same results…

“Ben, I’m not giving up, and you’re not allowed to give up either! We’ll find the problem and we will fix it!” I looked deep into his eyes, almost begging him to have hope.

And another day went by. And then another. And with every passing hour, we were getting closer to the final shooting test. All while I was training every other soldier and making damn sure they were top notch.

No pressure… Right?

Think, Tzlil! Think! I yelled at myself... in my head, of course. I’m not speaking to myself out loud just yet. Maybe someday I’ll be willing to show the world just how crazy I really am😜

Okay! There’s one thing I haven’t checked closely enough yet! The way he pulls the trigger!

Just another day at the office ;)

I prepared what we call a rojum, basically a small pyramid of stones. Never mind why I set it up, the distance at which I placed it, or any of the other technical details, because they are not really relevant. What matters is what happened next.

“Focus and aim at the center of the rojum,” I instructed Ben, then lay down on my stomach beside him so I could closely observe exactly what happened when he pulled the trigger. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see a few soldiers standing at the entrance to the range, watching us with visible skepticism.

Ben pulled the trigger and, as usual, hit absolutely nothing. But this time, I knew why. It was clear as day. Oh my God, how could I have missed it?

“Let me see your hands,” I told him.

He looked at me, confused.

“Hold both hands out in front of you, palms down and parallel to the ground. Keep them still.”

He couldn’t.

His hands trembled slightly. Even as he stared at them, trying to force them to stop shaking, they would not. He looked at me, then at his hands, then back at me.

“You, my friend, have developed a fear of shooting. You’re anticipating the sound and the recoil. Instead of pulling the trigger in one smooth, continuous motion, you squeeze it just a tiny bit, unconsciously preparing yourself for the shot. Your shoulder moves forward ever so slightly, and only then do you complete the trigger pull. That tiny movement throws off your accuracy completely. That’s why you’re not hitting anything! God is in the details!”

Before he could even process the mambo jumbo I had just thrown at him, I took off my shooting earmuffs and placed them over his ears. This gave him an additional layer of hearing protection on top of the earplugs he was already wearing. And although I knew the earmuffs would make it a little harder for him to maintain a proper cheek weld on the rifle, I thought it was worth it. And I was right.

Slowly, Ben started hitting the rojum. At first, he hit the edges. A few shots later, he was hitting the center.

He was thrilled! His confidence shot up almost instantly. His friends from the unit were clapping like proud parents at their kid’s recital, and I felt this unbelievable sense of relief. Indescribable really.

After two more days of nonstop shooting, I took my earmuffs back from Ben. He looked a little worried, as though I were taking away his security blanket.

“You don’t need them anymore. Believe me,” I reassured him. “Just don’t think about it. Let it flow.” And so he did. Pulling the trigger like a pro. Hitting the target. And passing the final shooting test with an excellent grade!

About three years had passed since that mission. I was entering the parking lot of a Tel Aviv mall and, like everyone else in Israel entering a shopping center, had to be checked by an armed security guard before driving in... you know, because there are fanatical Islamist jihadists trying to kill us and all…

I rolled down my window to say hello to the security guard so he could see that I wasn’t a suicide bomber or anything of that sort, and guess who it was?

Yes, my smart reader! You guessed it right!

It was BEN.

He had just been released from his compulsory service and was working to save money for his big post-service trip to South America. We were both so excited to see each other again! He even gave me a hug through the window🥹🥰

Then he told me something that nearly made me cry as a huge wave of emotion hit me all at once: not long after I trained them, he became a sharpshooter. He still serves as one in the reserves.

Meaning, he became the best shooter in his unit!

The best!

This article is getting too long for Substack and too short for a book, but I guess what I’m trying to say here is that I had the privilege of really seeing Ben, even when he had failed to see himself.

By refusing to give up on him, I was, in a way, seeing myself…

Long before I became the shooting instructor who refused to give up on the soldier everyone else had already labeled a failure, I was that kid.

I was a child who simply didn’t fit.

A little girl who had already lost faith in the education system by the age of eight. A little girl with learning disabilities, severe ADHD, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, sensory processing disorder… Should I keep going? Trust me, that is more than enough…

But I was also incredibly lucky. At some point, someone looked at that little girl and saw far beyond the list of diagnoses.

Two weeks ago, completely by chance, I saw her again.

I was walking to my car when I noticed an older woman struggling with her groceries, so I offered to help. I looked at her and suddenly realized who she was: the woman who had changed the way I saw myself as a child. I had not seen her in 24 years.

We hugged. We were both incredibly emotional. And standing there with her, I suddenly realized that all those years ago, I had been her Ben.

She taught me different ways to learn, ways that helped me overcome some of my difficulties. But what she truly gave me was something much greater: she believed in me at a time when I had very little reason to believe in myself. She convinced me that I could and that I would.

Maybe someday I’ll tell you the full story. But for now, I’ll just say this:

The one who can’t shoot.
The one who can’t learn.
The one who can’t.

Look again.

Because sometimes, the one who “can’t shoot” becomes the best shooter in his unit.

Sometimes, there is just a tiny thorn lodged in our foot, hidden from sight. We keep walking in pain because no one has noticed it, including ourselves. Until someone does; Someone looks closely enough to find the thorn, cares enough to pull it out, and suddenly, we can run freely.

All it takes is for someone to truly look. To truly see us running, even before we believe it’s possible.

Always be that person with good eyes.

That is the kind of person I always aspire to be.

Congratulations! You’re now morally superior without having to think for even a second! Welcome to the revolution. Your skin is the brightest. Your very being shines. You’re above god. That’s not racism. That’s just biology.

Conscience is overrated! Principles are a burden! We believe in “the ends justify the means.” Cheat. Lie. Manipulate. Intimidate. Silence. Cancel. Terrorize. It doesn’t matter. As long as our side wins, every method magically becomes a virtue. Funny how morality always bends in the direction of power. And power belongs to the strong, the predators, the loud, the ones who aren’t held back by that annoying little thing called “conscience”, from doing what’s right. And if power isn’t handed to us, despite our obvious and divine entitlement, then what is democracy for? Use democracy as ammunition to seize power by force. We believe in you. They don’t. Remember that.

Freedom! We absolutely adore freedom! You’re free to think exactly like us! Like the Party! Like the Movement! Like the Revolution! You’re free to chant exactly what we chant, as long as it rhymes... And you don’t even need to understand the language written on the sign you’re holding. Just stand there for liberty! You’re free to hate exactly who we hate: the oppressors! Yes, think of them as 0 and us as 1.

We are the oppressed. Why? Because binary thinking is efficient. It saves precious time, and you’ll need every second of it for vandalism and devouring the free world from within. We’re doing the thinking for you, so your brain can focus exclusively on execution. No need for any color other than black and white. Black and white make a beautiful rainbow! You know the ultimate truth: there are only two teams in our world, us and them; Ours deserves victory. Theirs deserves defeat. Freedom is just another word you can redefine until it means whatever we need it to mean. If you internalize our message, great... you’re one of us. If you think for yourself, you’re one of them. And we all know what happens to them… Here’s an easy slogan so you’ll never forget it: You’re free to hate. Dehumanization is THEIR fate.

Are you a virgin? Don’t swastika that! Yeah, it’s our way of saying don’t sweat it... We offer you everything you ever wanted: a sense of meaning, belonging, purpose, money, shooting for real! Like you do in gaming! And it goes without saying that with us, you’ll get laid! It’s guaranteed! We’ll even provide you with free condoms and take you on a cruise! Ask Greta! Provocation is sexy. Bend over to us, and our entire human inventory of the brainless will be open to you. We put less emphasis on consent, all of this mumbo jumbo that the pathological, sick society constructed for us to control us... spread your wings (and your legs), for you’re about to fly high. At last, small dicks have found a legitimate outlet for all that frustration.

On that note, who needs actual principles? Or something as perverted as morality? You don’t need either. You can symbolize morality instead. It’s a glorious trick! Just grow hair under your armpits, on your legs, and on your vajayjay. YAY! You’re officially a feminist! No need to actually fight for women’s rights, oppose rape, or believe all women. Your body hair does all the heavy lifting! You can now camouflage your hypocrisy beneath the thick hairy forest of virtue signaling. We believe in easy. And we don’t believe all women... especially the Jewish ones. Yuck.

And speaking of the Jews... oh, the Jews. The Protocols of the Elders of Zion were far too kind to them. They deserve the worst! Hitler gassed them, and that’s righteous... but he didn’t finish the job we’re on the verge of completing. Be optimistic. We’re getting there... If reality refuses to cooperate, simply add “Zionist” in front of whatever you’re angry about. It’s a brilliant form of linguistic laundering. We want to reach a wider audience, and everyone loves a universal villain.

And don’t you dare question our motives when you know, just as well as we do, that they’re responsible for everything wrong in your potentially beautiful life! Your failures? The Jews. Your unemployment? The Jews. Your heartbreak? The Jews. Global warming? The Jews! Your coffee got cold? Definitely the Jews! Look at those noses! They’re a completely different species. You can do anything to them... they’re not human. When a cockroach crawls into your kitchen, do you feel guilty when you squash it? Of course not. It’s exactly the same. Once you’ve eliminated every Jew, your life will be amazing! Everything will magically fall into place, and even Jewish Jesus will be proud of you! Allahu Akbar! He will too... It’s important to remember that we all hate one another, but hating the Jews temporarily unites us into one big, happy family. Isn’t it lovely?

Never apologize! Individual responsibility is a colonial construct. Nothing is ever your fault. Your parents are evil. Society is disgusting. Capitalism is unfair because everything should be free for the taking. Colonialism is perfectly fine... as long as we’re the colonizers. Imperialism? What’s the difference between that and colonialism? Never mind. You don’t need to know. Just scream it! Learning is for dum dums. You can slap an -ism on anything! Try it and add a tantrum for maximum effect. Climate change is white supremacy’s fault. You’re white, but you’re Black, and you’re a man even if you’re a woman. The sun belongs to you, and the Earth isn’t round. The Jews are what we hate most... even more than you hate yourself. Personal accountability is exhausting, and we’re here to make your life easier. You deserve it angel. We love you gorgeous tool.

Okay, there’s much more to our altruistic Final Solution, but we believe this is enough to get you on board. After all, you’re not used to reading more than a page and a half before your mediocre brain explodes... Join us in our march to eliminate the West... and ourselves along with it! Become part of our movement for kindhearted world domination! Think of us as the artificial grass in your yard... only with justice. Artificial justice! YES! Artificial is always better than natural. Why bother watering it?

Easy is our motto. Obedience is mandatory. Doubt is treason. If the facts disagree, the facts are wrong. The answer always comes before the question. Complexity Is the Disease. Nothing is straight in our perfectly straight world.

I see nothing immoral about a sovereign state ensuring that those who murder its citizens face consequences. Am Israel Chai.
Israel is held to impossible standards of perfection; standards no other nation has ever been asked to meet. Even when we do meet them, at an unimaginable cost in blood and tears, the world still brands us the aggressor.
Antisemitism is a stain that won’t wash out. All we can do is defend Israel with every fiber of our being, because if we don’t, we’re finished.

Applying double standards towards Israel is a major form of contemporary antisemitism.
The concept of the two-state solution was slaughtered along with the Jewish babies in their beds during the October 7th genocide.
The chant “Palestine from the river to the sea” is actually a call for the genocide of the entire Israeli population and incitement to anti-Semitic violence, and those who use it need to be tried as criminals!
From the War of Independence in 1948 to the present day, the Arabs, currently referred to as “Palestinians,” have never wanted a state next to Israel, but rather a state instead of Israel.
the population in Gaza has grown tremendously, so Israel couldn’t possibly be very good at genocide.
It is impossible to recount all the opportunities the Palestinians had to establish a Palestinian state and chose murder, terrorism and violence instead.
Let’s set the record straight:
Those so many confidently call “refugees” are not refugees. They are Arab tribes who lost a war they started and simply cannot accept defeat.
Jews have been in the land of Israel for over 3500 years and whoever was there before the establishment of Israel was, in fact, a conqueror, occupying the land from its indigenous Jewish inhabitants. But since I’ve been conducting a little referendum here over the past week, asking you to choose the topic of my next article, and you have so intelligently voted for me to reveal what my thesis is about... well, I suppose you’ve left me with no choice… The mystery has to die today... isn’t that right my little rebels? 😉 Well... not entirely.

To be perfectly honest, I’m not planning to kill the mystery in its entirety just yet.

I won’t be revealing my innovative methodology or the experimental stimuli, and that’s intentional ;) Partly because intellectual property matters, but mostly because my PhD builds upon this thesis in many respects.

Besides, this thesis is practically a PhD disguised as a master’s thesis anyway, at least in terms of its complexity, originality, and sheer length… [But sure, let’s not dwell on its obvious brilliance, my mom and dad have that covered anyway😜] But then again, I have this incurable tendency to take everything I do to the extreme... something that probably doesn’t surprise you, my readers, in the slightest by now😉

One more warning before we begin: by the time you reach the end of this article, you’ll probably have more questions than when you started reading it.

Buckle up... here we go.

It Felt as Though I'd Been Shot Right in the Chest! The Feeling Stayed With Me for Nearly a Week…

Nearly a decade ago, when I was still in my twenties (you know... back in Biblical times... ancient history 😉), I started working as a Marketing PMO at Bagira, a world renowned Israeli simulation company. They are absolutely phenomenal. I highly recommend googling them and seeing their work for yourselves.

Before that, I had worked in a very different corner of the security industry as the Sales Director for the Israeli market at a tactical gear company. My job was to develop the company’s sales strategy and ensure that the IDF received the best possible equipment through large scale tenders. It also meant spending a great deal of time in the field, learning firsthand what our combat units actually needed from an operational perspective. I might write about this at length one day, because it truly is fascinating, but it’s beyond the scope of this piece ;)

So, for me, coming from a low tech background, getting hired by a high tech company in the security sphere meant, among other things, suddenly shifting my focus from the Israeli market to an international one; It required not only a different practical approach, but also what I can only describe as a mental shift; Up until that point, I had been working closely mainly with special IDF units. Then, all of a sudden, I found myself flying to the United Kingdom to introduce advanced simulation systems to the British Army inside a closed military base.

See what I mean by a mental shift? It wasn’t just a different job... It was a completely different mentality in every possible aspect.

This is an advanced laser‑based firing system that my boss and I flew to England to demonstrate to UK army units, ahead of a major procurement tender.

So, why am I telling you this? Good question!

Because that’s how I was exposed to the unbelievable immersiveness of VR for the very first time.

I had just started working there and was trying to learn countless advanced systems in an incredibly short amount of time… One day, they put a VR headset on me. Then they strapped special monitoring sensors and haptic feedback sensors to my chest, embedded in a tailor made Multicom textile harness, and dropped me into a Gaza-like alley.

Without any warning whatsoever, I was suddenly attacked by a highly realistic virtual Palestinian sniper who opened fire on me.

And let me tell you something... TMI: I almost peed myself. I could actually feel the impact of the shots hitting my chest! It was freakin’ insane!

I’ve never been shot before, thank God, but in that moment it felt as though I had been. The environment was remarkably realistic, my quasi-VR body gave me a genuine sense of embodiment, and my brain immediately accepted the scene as real. I wasn’t expecting a jihadist sniper because no one had mentioned this rather “lovely” surprise beforehand... The shock was therefore very real, and the haptic feedback made me instinctively jump backward.

I remember grabbing my chest in complete panic while the virtual jihadist sniper lined up another shot. I ripped the VR headset off and had to sit down for a moment just to process that I wasn’t actually there... in Gaza... but back in the office... here in the Holy Land.

“You’re safe,” I kept telling myself as they handed me a glass of water. But to be perfectly honest? It took me about a week to shake the feeling off; For the first two days afterward, I could still feel this strange sting in my chest.

Now that’s one unforgettable welcome to a new company, don’t you think? 😂

“This is a game changer,” I remember thinking that very moment. And I knew this romance wasn’t going to end there... Oh, and the virtual Palestinian sniper? Let’s just say I eliminated him during a different session😉

Anyway, that was my introduction to VR and my first real encounter with its extraordinary power, technology that, now more than half a decade later, has advanced tremendously!

One of the highlights of my time there was organizing Col. Richard Kemp’s visit to the company’s offices in Israel. Col. Kemp has spent most of his life fighting terrorism and insurgency, commanding British troops on the front lines of some of the world’s most challenging conflict zones, including Afghanistan, Iraq, the Balkans, and Northern Ireland. In recent years, he has also devoted himself to exposing misinformation about Israel and defending its right to exist and defend itself on the international stage; I had the privilege of bringing him in to experience some of our advanced simulation systems firsthand and introducing him to the remarkable work being done there. It was a tremendous honor.

So, the title of my thesis is Terror Snow Crash.

An unusual name, isn’t it? What is Snow Crash, and why terror? Well... let me give you the gist.

Remember the snowy static that covered old television screens whenever the signal disappeared? What looked like harmless visual noise inspired the title Snow Crash, the groundbreaking novel that introduced the world to the concept of the Metaverse.

THE PERFECT ESCAPE

The Metaverse is a hyper-immersive universe you enter through VR goggles, where the line between physical and virtual disappears; it generates such an intense sense of presence that you can meet, move, and interact with others as if within arm’s reach, no matter where you are in the world, with avatars embodying and expressing your identity in this boundless space.

Snow Crash, the dystopian novel that coined the very term “Metaverse,” imagined a virtual plague capable of crashing both computers and human minds.

The metaverse, while offering amazing new opportunities, also presents great threats if abused as an operational tool by Islamist Jihadist terror organizations for radicalization and recruitment, among others, carried out within the virtual space and extending into real-life (IRL) terror acts.

Let’s steal a slide from one of my lectures for a second:

Terrorist organizations and extremists are known to be early adopters of various technologies in multiple dimensions and quickly adopt and utilize them to advance their malicious goals.

Weaponized avatars (coined by the author) as a dominant metaverse application will play a significant, fundamental role in revolutionizing how terrorism functions in the modern world, where the metaverse will shape not only the virtual future of the internet but, also the physical one; We’ve seen the effect of social media on increasing the spread of radicalization and terrorism and can speculate that a social/immersive metaverse will have a similarly dramatic, if not even more profound, impact.

My study which addresses the question “Can the use of an Avatar in a virtual Metaverse environment, potentially increase radicalization?” may serve as an effective operative tool to address this mega-threat of cyber terrorism.

Unlike existing research, which predominantly examines radicalization through theoretical frameworks within flat-screen 2D environments, my study not only draws on established theories but also operationalizes this process within a controlled immersive 3D setting, addressing a domain that is inherently difficult to access both technologically and ethically.

My study was conducted in collaboration with the International Institute for Counter Terrorism (ICT) and the Advanced Reality Lab (ARL) at Reichman University.

The findings of my research form both the technological and theoretical foundation of my PhD on Islamist terrorist recruitment in the Metaverse. This study also constitutes one of the core chapters of my doctoral research.

And my PhD?

Well... no spoilers😉 But let's just say it takes things several steps further by infusing avatars with large language models (LLMs), enabling them to engage in intuitive, personalized, real time interactions, while integrating significantly richer 4D and Mixed Reality elements to explore entirely new dimensions of influence and persuasion.

This trajectory underscores the danger of a terrorist driven Snow Crash, where arch-terrorists such as Hassan Nasrallah (may this Satan rust in little pieces) could be virtually resurrected to converse with, radicalize, recruit, and influence followers with striking immediacy across a universe unbound by place or time.

Well... unlike Black Mirror, you won't be able to simply turn off the TV when the episode ends. This immersive technology is heading our way, whether we are ready for it or not…

Tower of Babel

The emerging technology of the Metaverse is not yet here in its full capacity, but it’s rapidly approaching and will overtake us like a wave already in motion. If proactive measures are not urgently considered to anticipate its exploitation by Islamist jihadist terrorist organizations, the landscape of radicalization may cross a threshold from which reversal becomes increasingly difficult; Under such conditions, early adopter Islamist jihadists could weaponize these immersive environments to accelerate the global spread of violent political and religious extremist ideology, enabling mass recruitment and coordinated mobilization on an unprecedented scale.

Against this backdrop, my study doesn’t merely observe an emerging threat; it compels us to confront it. This study doesn’t merely trace this trajectory through theory, but operationally exposes it, forcing this emerging threat into the spotlight before the wave fully breaks upon the shores of the free world.

In this sense, the Metaverse may be understood as a contemporary analogue to the Tower of Babel, reflecting humanity’s extraordinary technological ambition to transcend physical boundaries and reshape human interaction. Yet, in the hands of Islamist jihadist terrorist organizations, even the most remarkable innovations are utilized malevolently; The modern Tower of Babel of terrorism may already be under construction, built not from stone, but from code, avatars, and immersive architectures of influence and meta-persuasion, where extremist, Islamist ideology is no longer merely disseminated, but experientially lived, and where recruitment to jihad may evolve from passive and distant propaganda into direct, embodied social encounter, untraceable and unlimited by space or time.

If the next frontier of radicalization and recruitment by Islamist jihadist terrorist organizations lies in weaponized AI-powered avatars, as my study cautiously projects in the near future, democratic societies may recognize the danger only once they are already inside it. Let my study serve as a wake-up call.

Take a look at this so called “apartheid”: Israeli Arabs and Jews walking side by side, enjoying their weekend together in complete coexistence. Wow! What a terrible system of oppression... Total equality and shared humanity🙄

Look at the woman in the burqa walking right behind me. She is oppressed by her own society, not by Israel. Here, in our Jewish democratic state, she is free to walk the streets with everything covered but her eyes... Israel neither imposed that on her nor forbids her from doing so; She enjoys the same rights and freedoms as every other Israeli citizen and resident.

Look around. See countless Israeli Arabs enjoying their weekend alongside Jews. Listen carefully and you’ll hear both Hebrew and Arabic. No problem at all. And notice that the restaurant signs are in Hebrew, Arabic, and English.

The Americans should have negotiated with the Iranians over buying a Persian rug. A basic understanding of negotiation would have helped them secure a far better deal with Iran… Unfortunately, the United States failed to withstand the pressure, particularly the economic pressure, and folded. This disastrous agreement with the evil Iranian regime was signed over our heads.

This bad deal doesn’t merely remove the economic stranglehold from Iran and flood the regime with cash. It also fails to remove uranium from Iranian soil. On the contrary, it allows Iran to continue enriching uranium while simultaneously throwing a lifeline to Hezbollah as it bombards our northern communities.

This agreement also sends a dangerous message to every anti-Western regime on earth: the West is weak, appeasing, full of empty threats, and unwilling to confront evil with full force. In many ways, that creates a reality even more dangerous than the one that existed before this war began.

There is no question that President Donald Trump is a true friend of Israel. At the same time, he has made a strategic mistake of historic proportions by signing an agreement with an apocalyptic, murderous regime that will never honor its commitments and is now laughing all the way to the bank.

Because this disastrous agreement carries far-reaching consequences for Israel, it obligates us, as a sovereign and independent nation, to act accordingly.

Just as Prime Minister Netanyahu stood before Congress and spoke out against the disastrous agreement advanced by President Barack Obama, he must demonstrate the same determination in opposing the current agreement.

Today, as always, we must stand firm in defense of our Israeli citizens and soldiers. No one will guarantee our security except ourselves. We must not sacrifice the North on the altar of the failed diplomacy now being displayed by the Americans.

“If I am not for myself, who will be for me?”

As Secretary of State Marco Rubio said, “A fool is someone who doesn’t respond when being shot at.”

This disastrous agreement is not only a blow to Israel’s security. It is also a betrayal of the brave Iranian people who have repeatedly taken to the streets, risking imprisonment, torture, and violent death in an effort to overthrow the satanic Ayatollah regime that has oppressed them since the Islamic Revolution. The regime tells us: “We want nuclear weapons for peaceful purposes.”

Their nuclear program was never a fantasy, a slogan, or a bargaining chip. It was a grand, multidimensional strategic project that they spent decades building!

And despite all this, despite the evil mullah regime’s treatment of its own people, many still insist on pretending it can be trusted; That it isn’t pissing on us and calling it rain… Sorry for my French.

Let this sink in:

This is a regime that hangs protesters from cranes.
A regime that stones women over medieval dress codes.
A regime that legally permits child marriage by allowing grown men to marry little girls who still go to sleep clutching their teddy bears.
A regime that indoctrinates children into the death cult of “martyrdom.”
A regime that has spent decades exporting terror across the globe.

And yet we are expected to believe that these are trustworthy partners for “peace”? WHAT?! That they respect agreements? That they will honor a “ceasefire”?

A. Ask yourself this: what does the Islamic of Iran want?

Let me reveal the “secret”: It wants to bring the world to the 7th century, when Islam began spreading and the Muslims began conquering the desert in the most horrifying ways imaginable. Read about it. It’s extremely eye-opening. Sounds peaceful, right? how about an agreement to help them achieve that?

B. Should America abandon its closest ally, Israel, in the middle of a war to save Western civilization? Israel, who fights alongside it, shoulder to shoulder, brothers in arms. What happens then to America’s global credibility if it simply turns its back on its most trusted and strongest ally? To its standing? To its deterrence? Would any country still trust US protection if it walks away when it matters most, or would states start drifting toward the axis of evil because they decide it is more reliable than the United States?

C. If Iran is allowed to go nuclear, don’t think for a second that the rest of the region will sit quietly. Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Turkey… all have said they will follow. A nuclear arms race in the Middle East isn’t just a nightmare. It is a ticking clock for every democracy on Earth!

Sooooo…. What do we have here? Hidden stashes of enriched uranium and thousands of long range ballistic missiles, all waiting for the moment the apocalyptic fanatics decide to press the button. What perfect timing for an awful agreement! I’m utterly relaxed, of course, like someone getting a deep tissue massage while the missile racks are being quietly refilled in the next room. Pure nirvana.

OBAMA 2.0 - Iran Deal The Sequel

Trump spent a decade telling us why Obama’s Iran deal was a disaster. Then he looked at it and said: “Hold my Diet Coke.”

Appeasement is the belief that feeding the crocodile will convince it not to eat you.

History’s verdict is clear: appeasement ends in blood. And nothing else.

We thank President Trump for everything he has done for Israel. His friendship is real, his support has been historic, and our appreciation is genuine.

At the same time, friends do not surrender their sovereignty to friends.

Israel is an independent state. If our survival requires action, we will act. Even if Washington says “don’t.”

I'll keep reminding you of this lesson from both literature and history:

A Gun Placed on the Table in the First Act Always Fires in the Last

Time is not on our side. The longer we wait, the more advanced their weapons become. And this isn’t “just” about nukes or deadly ballistic missiles. The evil Iranian regime are pouring resources into cyber warfare, artificial intelligence, drone swarms, and psychological operations. The West is being infiltrated not only physically through mass immigration of Islamist jihadists, but in every possible way… Thanks to enablers and well-placed individuals who have either been bought and paid for, or who, to put it mildly, lack the intelligence or understanding to grasp even the most basic truths about the enemy.

Unfortunately, our beloved friend America has lost far more than face by signing this disastrous appeasement agreement. Let us make sure Israel does not lose hers too, and unlike America, I mean that quite literally…

The real concession in this agreement is not merely uranium enrichment, frozen assets, or sanctions relief. It’s something far more dangerous. America has effectively acknowledged that Iran can hold roughly 20% of the world’s oil supply hostage through its control of the Strait of Hormuz, and that if the price of oil rises high enough, Washington will bend. That is the message every hostile regime on earth just received!

Touch the oil.

Raise the price.

Apply enough pressure.

America will fold.

This agreement doesn’t diminish Iran’s power. It solidifies it.

The Ayatollah regime has demonstrated that through a sophisticated game of nerves, a contest of who blinks first, it can bring the world’s sole superpower to the negotiating table on its own terms.

Even more alarming, Iran emerges from this agreement without surrendering the core pillars of its regional strategy: its nuclear ambitions, its missile program, its terrorist proxies, or its grip over the Strait of Hormuz. The regime keeps its leverage, keeps its influence, keeps its pathways to future nuclear development, and receives an economic lifeline in return.

That is not a defeat. That is a victory!

The broader implications are even more troubling:

Every anti-Western regime is now studying this agreement carefully. Not because of what it says on paper, but because of what it reveals about American limits…

The lesson is simple: if you can create enough economic pain, enough disruption, enough uncertainty, the United States may ultimately choose stability over victory. Or at least what they believe is stability.

In reality, they chose the illusion of stability. A false calm. A deceptive quiet. The kind of peace that lasts only until the next explosion blows the illusion apart.

The price of oil has become more important than strategic deterrence.

That is a dangerous lesson to teach the world.

For Israel, however, the lesson remains the same as it has always been. No foreign power, however friendly, can be entrusted with determining which threats to Jewish lives are tolerable and which are not; We learned that lesson long before the establishment of the State of Israel, and we will remember it long after the current administration leaves office. America is our friend. But friends have interests. And when those interests diverge, nations are left with only one responsibility:

To ensure their own survival.

So let’s refresh our memory on a few critical moments in history, all of which lead to the same conclusion that I keep urging you to understand:

Don’t mess with the Jews, or you’re doomed.

Let’s start with how we hunted the Nazis after World War II and take it from there. Deal? I’m only asking out of politeness… I’m going to present you with those facts even if you’re talking to yourself and saying, “No deal.”

The deal is simple really: we will NOT bend over. Not now. Not ever.

NAZI HUNTING

I’m not going to give you a long history lesson, I promise. Just some vital historical facts:

On September 23, 1977, Israel’s prime minister, Menachem Begin, convened a secret session of the Security Cabinet. The discussion was brief. By its conclusion, the ministers had approved a secret policy known as “Decision B/4.”

The decision assigned the Mossad an exclusive mission: to renew the hunt for Nazi war criminals, including those who gassed to death almost my entire family on my father's side in Auschwitz, among them my grandfather's four year old sister 💔

The Mossad’s holy mission was explicit: to bring the monstrous Nazis of the Holocaust to trial in Israel and, where that proved impossible, to eliminate them.

The Mossad drafted a list of 10 wanted Nazis, with special focus on Dr. Josef Mengele, notorious for his ghoulish medical experiments on Jews in the Auschwitz death camp.

If you wish to explore this not ancient history in greater depth, there is no shortage of rigorous and well-documented sources.

Yet the record is not one of complete justice. Despite years of relentless pursuit, many of the Nazis who orchestrated and carried out the murder of countless Jews during the Holocaust were never brought to trial. They lived out their lives undisturbed, untouched by human justice. That is a painful and enduring truth. And yet, as a person of deep faith, I hold that these satanic monsters are not beyond judgment, but are now condemned to the deepest depths of hell. BTW, who helped so many Nazis escape justice? The point remains: they were hunted. Absolute success is never guaranteed. No system, no effort, no nation achieves perfection. But since then, our capabilities have advanced, our reach has sharpened, and our precision has grown. Today, in confronting the modern-day Islamist Nazis of our time, we are far more formidable.

For we don’t forget, and we don’t forgive! If you spill Jewish blood, then in the name of morality, justice, and the sacred duty to confront evil, you will be held to account. Sooner or later, justice finds those who commit such devilish atrocities.

In the name of over six million murdered Jews, this is what awaits you of you hurt us:

Munich 1972: Eight Palestinian Terrorists Murdered 11 Israeli Athletes at the Olympics

In 1972, eight Palestinian terrorists from Black September, a terrorist organization affiliated with the “Palestine Liberation Organization” (PLO) - yes, Yasser Arafat’s PLO, the same PLO behind the “Oslo Peace Accords” that ultimately resulted in far more Jewish blood being spilled - infiltrated the Olympic Village in Munich, Germany, took members of the Israeli delegation hostage, and ultimately murdered 11 Israeli athletes and coaches in cold blood.

Two were murdered immediately. The remaining nine were held hostage for hours before being murdered during a failed rescue attempt by the Germans, who refused to allow the Mossad to assist in the rescue operation. Gee I wonder why…

This happened on German soil while 900 million people watched this vile terrorist spectacle unfold. German publication Der Spiegel reported in 2012 that a German neo Nazi assisted the Palestinian terrorist group in planning the massacre. Funny how history rhymes.

The Olympics carried particular significance, given that Hitler had turned the 1936 Berlin Games into a propaganda platform for the myth of Aryan supremacy.

And then came perhaps the most obscene part of all: The Olympics resumed!

On German soil, of all places, just 27 years after the Holocaust.

Just a few decades after Nazi Germany had spilled rivers of Jewish blood across Europe, 11 Israeli athletes were murdered, and the world decided that the “show” must go on. The blood was barely dry, and it was back to business as usual.

This is what passes for “morality” in the eyes of the world. As if Jewish blood carried no weight at all. Not the slightest. Lighter than air. As if the murder of Jews was just another tragedy to acknowledge for 5 seconds for PR, and then move on. As if the slaughter of Israeli athletes at the Olympics was merely an inconvenient disruption to the festivities… Jews are interrupting our games by being murdered. How dare they?!

The lesson Israel took from Munich was brutally simple: when it comes to Jewish security, we can rely only on ourselves!

And what happened next? If you don’t already know, you should:

Operation Wrath of God

In September 1972, Prime Minister Golda Meir set in motion a targeted assassination campaign that deployed the Mossad’s top unit, Kidon, Hebrew for “bayonet,” to hunt down all those involved in the Black September Palestinian terrorist attack that murdered our innocent athletes, and remove them from the face of the Earth; It would take years, with some reports suggesting more than a decade. But mission accomplished.

This illustrates something fundamental in our Jewish codes of conduct: you hurt Jews, you’re a dead man.

As the ancient Jewish principle teaches:

“הַבָּא לְהָרְגְךָ – הַשְׁכֵּם לְהָרְגוֹ”

Or in English:

“If someone comes to kill you, rise and kill him first.” Babylonian Talmud, Tractate Sanhedrin 72a.

Interestingly, retribution has long been recognized as one of the central theories of punishment. Legal scholars, philosophers, and criminologists have debated its proper scope for centuries, but few deny its place within the broader framework of justice.

Yet somehow, when Jews defend themselves or pursue those who murdered their people, retribution suddenly becomes a dirty word.

For generations, Jews were expected to turn the other cheek. When we were powerless, our suffering was romanticized. When we became powerful enough to defend ourselves, our self defense was recast as “revenge.” This is one of the strangest moral acrobatics of our time!

We are told that retaliation is immoral, often without any serious acknowledgment of the atrocities that preceded it. October 7 was a case in point. Men, women, children, babies and entire Israeli families were butchered, raped, tortured, kidnapped, and murdered. Yet almost immediately, the conversation in so many circles shifted from what had been done to the Jews to whether Jews were permitted to respond.

I see nothing immoral about a sovereign state ensuring that those who murder its citizens face consequences. Nor do I see anything immoral about demonstrating to every would be Islamist predator in the region that Jewish blood is not free for the taking.

Would you like to call it revenge? So be it!

For centuries, others decided the fate of the Jews. Today, the Jews have a state, and states have a duty to protect their people. We are no different. We are entitled to defend ourselves, whether you like it or not, or whether you choose to engage in rhetorical manipulation by framing it as nothing more than “animalistic revenge.” Call it whatever you want. We will not be tossed into the ocean for your hypocrisy and Jew-hatred.

For us, our people come first. Everyone else comes second, including the invented Palestinian “people.”

This concept is beautifully expressed in an Arabic verse that goes like this:

الف عين تبكي ولا عين امي تدمع

Or in English: “Let a thousand eyes weep, as long as my mother’s eye does not shed a tear.”

While Israel strives to operate within the parameters of the international laws of war, Hamas flagrantly violates them. Hamas has committed crimes against humanity both by intentionally slaughtering Israeli civilians and by deliberately conducting military operations from within civilian areas, which unlawfully transforms Palestinians into human shields. Whereas Hamas deliberately kills, maims, rapes, and kidnaps civilians, Israel tries to minimize harm to civilians - not least by dropping leaflets in Gaza that direct the civilian population to evacuate areas from which Hamas operates - as it pursues the military objective of destroying Hamas’ ability to wage war against it.

I wouldn’t try us if I were you. Ask Nasrallah how this ends... Oh no, he is no longer with us to take questions… That, in itself, is your answer :)

Look, you guys, I could write an entire book about something this basic: security.

You know what Maslow’s hierarchy of needs says, and I agree with it completely. Of the five levels of human needs, safety is foundational, just above basic physical needs like water. That means safety is existential. You cannot climb toward self-fulfillment while you are in a constant state of fighting for your very survival.

I know some of you, in fact far too many, judge us from your safe ivory towers. But let me assure you: if you were being constantly targeted by jihadist barbarians and neo-Nazis, as Jews are, both in Israel and beyond, you would demand that your country protect your existence.

And if you were being chased by an Islamist with a knife, you would fight back to make sure that knife went through his throat and not yours.

So think about that. This is not a hypothetical for us... It’s routine. Now tell me I’m wrong.

And if you’re still not convinced, I couldn’t care less. My answer to you is this: when ISIS is your next-door neighbor, only then can you judge us. Not that your judgment would matter either way.

Our strategic intelligence, combined with our brave, moral and relentlessly creative security forces, makes us a very dangerous force to play with. If you f*** around with us, the outcome will come crashing through your window with surgical precision.

To conclude, remember these three rules for your safety, darlings:

God works in mysterious ways, and we are God’s people.
Jews control the weather, as so many haters have apparently "discovered."
There are no 72 virgins, only 72 donkeys. Ask yourself, is it really worth it?

“Heli Copter” is a very skilled Israeli pilot, so don’t test the Jews. It will end badly for you. You will crash down… ouch.

Chag Shavuot Sameach, dear friends! What’s up? 😄

I know… I know… I haven’t published an article in a while, but please cut me some slack. I’m close to submitting my thesis, and so, among the other action happening in my life (the good kind), I’m buried under endless academic articles and, you know… delightful academic writing, which I hate, of course. It’s like a straitjacket! My thesis is very operational and sits in the field of cyberterrorism, but there is no way around the literature review and all the other academic joys that come with it. How fun! NOT.

To make matters worse, my advisors have basically informed me that my natural writing belongs in literature, not academia, so apparently I must suppress my personality, behave myself, and write in a dry, restrained, painfully academic manner. A true tragedy. But you do what you gotta do as the kids say ;)

I know many of you are extremely curious about my thesis, and I promise to write a full article about it once the miracle of submission finally takes place. But for now, let’s just say that I explore terrorism in the Metaverse (have you read Snow Crash yet? No? You should), and more specifically, AI powered avatars. That’s my thing. The nutshell of the nutshell.

But this piece isn’t about that…

Today, I want to share with you a very special personal story, one I still remember as a cute and deeply meaningful moment. I would even go the extra mile and call it divine intervention, something I cherish to this very day. My story, I believe, speaks to the unique and profound bond we Jews share with our dear Christian friends ❤️

And what does the Chag Shavuot we Jews celebrate today, marking the giving of the Torah at Mount Sinai, have to do with all this? Well… you’ll get your answer. Be patient.

“Begin telling the story already! What a buildup!”

Ok, ok, I will. No need to yell… Geesh. So, it all begins about 17 years ago, when I was a young soldier in the IDF.

“You’re still young Tzlil, what are you talking about?” Well, thank you, imaginary voice. Flattery will get you everywhere. Nearly 20 years have passed, so do the math... Official records may suggest adulthood, but Peter Pan and I respectfully dispute the findings (see? I can do academic writing 😜).

This sweet puppy would later grow up to become a military working dog! During my army service, I was based also with the Oketz Unit, the IDF’s elite canine unit, where dogs are trained for different combat and operational missions. One of my favorite mood boosters was sneaking in some puppy time before they officially began their military training ;)

As a sharpshooting instructor for combat units, officially assigned to the IDF’s sharpshooting academy, I technically had a home base, but I was rarely there. My role meant being constantly deployed across the country on different missions. Almost every week, I found myself on a new military base, training a different combat unit, working with different IDF soldiers, teaching different weapons, and executing shooting programs tailored specifically to the operational needs of that particular unit. My missions focused primarily on training designated sharpshooters.

In other words, almost every week was a completely new adventure.

And yes, I carried what felt like more than my own body weight: a massive backpack, a smaller bag, and of course, my weapon, as I made my way between military bases across Israel, often in rather remote places. Quite the roadshow, I would say…

There were bases we weapons instructors loved being assigned to, sometimes because the facilities were great, but that was never the real deciding factor. What truly made a mission unforgettable were the combat soldiers themselves. We loved them all, every single one of these heroes, but naturally, with different units, different personalities, and different dynamics, there were some you formed an especially strong connection with. It was never static. It shifted constantly with the people, the atmosphere, and the unique spirit each IDF unit brought with it.

Honestly, the day to day reality of that role, not to mention the entire process of becoming a weapons instructor in the first place, could easily fill a separate article all on their own. Maybe one day. But not today. Today, I’m taking you to one very specific moment from my military service, and this entire buildup was simply necessary context ;)

This photo was taken during my infantry instructors course; Yes, before becoming a sharpshooting instructor, I first had to complete nearly 4 months of an extremely demanding infantry instructors course, packed with intense mental and physical challenges, designed to teach us how to command soldiers. Here, you can see us from above, doing pushups during the infantry instructors course. And that was only phase one 😄

After completing that course, I was sent to the sharpshooting academy for another nearly 4 months of intensive training, where you learn not only how to shoot at the highest professional level, but also to understand your weapons down to the smallest detail, quite literally every screw… Why? Because the knowledge you pass on to soldiers will later accompany them into the battlefield. There is no room for mediocrity. You must be top notch. And if a soldier asks you a professional question you cannot answer? You lose their trust just like that.

So overall, I barely saw home for nearly 8 months of these intense courses, and trust me, there is much more to say about that journey, but rain check ;)

One day, during the winter, I was sent to a remote military base (I won’t name it for obvious reasons) located deep in the desert.

And let me tell you, winter in the desert is not exactly delightful.

Sleeping in tents during freezing desert nights is not my idea of pleasure. Showering in a tiny caravan with icy water and barely any personal space properly separating you from the other girls showering there, mostly female IDF combat soldiers, is… less than ideal. And having no reception whatsoever at the open air shooting range, sitting in the middle of absolute nowhere, doesn’t exactly lift your spirits when you receive your mission assignment for the week…

This base was essentially a transition base, with different units constantly rotating through for training and then moving on. In other words, when you got assigned there, excitement was not exactly the dominant emotion. Quite the opposite.

And I was especially “lucky” enough to be assigned there for two or three consecutive weeks (my traumatic memory insists it was three). Hip hip hooray!

At my final week there, I had an important doctor’s appointment that had been scheduled long in advance and was, of course, known to my commanders. Because of that, I had to leave a day before the mission officially ended, and before nightfall.

But guess what? I missed the last bus that was supposed to take me from this remote base in the desert to the train station, and from there, home.

Yep.

I couldn’t make it back from the shooting range fast enough. When I finally reached the bus departure point inside the base, I was told it had already left. NOOOOO!

Now, I knew my doctor’s appointment was up north, early the next morning, which meant one thing: if I didn’t get off that base that very day, I was never going to make it in time.

But this base was located practically on planet Mars, so there was quite literally no way out other than that bus, the same bus that had just abandoned me; So there I was, sitting on a rock with my endless gear, freezing, holding my head and feeling deeply sorry for myself. F * C K. That’s a bummer. It had taken me a month to get that doctor’s appointment. Nightfall was approaching. And I was stuck. Simply stuck.

Not even two minutes had passed while I was busy drowning in self pity when, suddenly, I heard a woman’s voice shoot in my direction:

“Hey soldier, need a ride?!”

Turns out the saying is true: miss one bus, and God sends another.

When I heard that beautiful voice, I didn’t dare lift my head. You know why? Because I was convinced I had gotten dehydrated at the shooting range and was now hallucinating the physical manifestation of my wishful thinking. But then the voice made a comeback:

“Where do you need to go? We’ll take you there!”

Perfect English.

Slowly, I lifted my head. And there it was. A shiny, enormous bus!

If memory serves me right, I vaguely remember the words Peace and Jesus written in huge letters along the side visible to me.

No frikin’ way! Is this a fata morgana? I thought to myself… I’m in the desert, after all…

“Are you coming?” the woman asked, standing on the last step of the bus, a traveler’s hat on her head, her smile radiating pure warmth.

“Me? Really?” I asked in a shivering voice, still unable to process my absurd good fortune.

“YES, YOU!” she emphasized. “We’re waiting for you! Throw your bags into the compartment below and hop in!”

The luggage compartment door opened, and I shifted my weapon strap onto my back so I could throw my bags inside, all while operating in a state of complete disbelief.

How was this even possible? Where had this massive bus come from? How had I not noticed it? There had been no bus there when I arrived. None. So what on earth was going on?!

Question after question flooded my mind, distracting me even more effectively than the freezing desert air creeping in with the sunset.

And there I was, hopping onto this bus on what felt like an entirely different planet.

Had I just won the lottery or what?!

And yet, I was still suspicious. Who was she? Who else was on this bus? And how on earth had they ended up here?

Well… I was apparently about a minute away from finding out.

Look, I know what you’re thinking… How can you be so irresponsible as to just hop onto a random bus without knowing who’s on it or where it’s even coming from?

Fair question.

But this bus was parked inside the military base, in plain sight, seen by everyone, and had obviously gone through the necessary security procedures to enter. In other words, this wasn’t some rogue mystery vehicle that had materialized out of nowhere and breached an IDF base 😄 Assuming protocols have not dramatically changed in the roughly 17 years since this happened, getting a ride in that context was entirely permissible. Had this happened outside the base, however, that would have been a completely different opera.

Now that we’ve cleared up my apparently questionable decision making, shall we continue to what I saw the moment I stepped onto this magic bus? ;)

So, I climbed those tiny bus stairs, and as I reached the top and looked inside, this is what I saw:

A bus packed with Americans, all smiling at me, singing some song I didn’t know about the Lord and the Savior, clapping, joyful, and apparently genuinely delighted by my existence 😄

I just stood there smiling back like a confused desert alien who had accidentally wandered into a parallel universe… They paused their singing to ask my name, “Shalom, my name is Tzlil” I introduced myself.

They also introduced themselves, and I quickly discovered that they were a group of faithful Christians who deeply love the Jewish people and love Israel.

They had come to the Israel to visit sacred sites, but not only that. They also volunteered at various army bases, helping however they could with whatever was needed. Filling sandbags after shooting drills, for example. Whatever could assist the IDF soldiers. They also volunteered in agriculture here in the Holy Land, before eventually returning to America.

How amazing is that?! WOW.

“Where do you need to go?” they all asked, almost as if in one voice.

“To the train station,” I replied shyly, “but I really don’t want to create a detour for all of you dear friends…” I genuinely felt uncomfortable with the idea that they would go out of their way just for me.

“Don’t be silly!” they responded almost unanimously. “That’s the least we can do for you soldier! Am Israel Chai!”

Oh my God. I must be dreaming. I’m officially on cloud nine.

I was then offered a seat in the middle of the bus so I could sit among everyone and mingle, and off we went on the long drive to the train station.

For much of the journey, we sang!

They sang songs about Jesus, and I happily clapped along. At some point, I taught them the famous Israeli folk song Hevenu Shalom Aleichem (Hebrew: הבאנו שלום עליכם, “We brought peace upon you”). Yes… peace.
That is what we Jews sing about, while our enemies sing about murdering us.

They dropped me off at the train station, but not before we said our goodbyes. I thanked them wholeheartedly, and yes, there were hugs too.

“Stay safe, soldier,” the woman in the hat told me with teary eyes. “We’ve got your back.”

“You are Jesus’ people,” another said, and the whole moment was so unexpectedly emotional that I honestly didn’t know what to do with myself…

“Jesus must have been a pretty cool guy,” I joked, and they laughed 😄

I grabbed my bags from the compartment below, stepped back, and turned around to wave at this Christian bus as it drove away. It’s a moment I have never forgotten.

As I stood on the platform waiting for my train, I couldn’t stop thinking about the divine intervention God had seemingly orchestrated for me. What are the odds, really? Me, missing the last bus at a remote military base in the middle of the desert, only to suddenly find myself on a miraculous bus full of devoted Christians who came from who knows where and delivered me exactly where I needed to be, right on time.

What on earth had just happened?

If that wasn’t God’s doing, I genuinely don’t know what is…

Nowadays, when radical anti Western forces, with Islamists at the very center of them, work tirelessly to manufacture division between Christians and Jews in service of their destructive agenda, our answer must be crystal clear:

NO.

Not on our watch! Jews and Christians are in this together!

Jews and Christians are friends in times of peace and in times of war.

Jews and Christians face the same apocalyptic jihadist enemies, those who despise freedom, pluralism, democracy, life itself, and would gladly drag the free world into darkness.

And to those who believe they can manipulate us into turning against one another, we must say:

We see right through you.

We recognize your propaganda.
We recognize your manipulations.
We recognize your malevolent attempts to fracture natural allies so that each would stand weaker, isolated, and easier to destroy.

NO.

Not happening! Our alliance is stronger than your hatred!

And on Shavuot, of all days, that truth feels even more powerful.

Because Shavuot is not merely about cheesecake… It’s about the giving of the Torah, covenant, moral foundations, and the civilizational roots that helped shape the Western world itself.

The values that so many in the free world claim to cherish didn’t emerge from thin air; Our Judeo Christian values are alive. And that is precisely why our shared enemies seek to destroy them, and to divide those who must stand together in defending them.

And perhaps that is why I still think about that moment in the desert.

A Jewish soldier.
A missed bus.
A seemingly impossible appearance.
And then, a bus full of devoted Christians who appeared precisely when I needed them, singing about their faith, opening their arms, and getting me safely where I needed to be. Real friends!

In the desert, no less… The very desert that is so deeply woven into our biblical story. The desert where our people wandered. The desert where we were tested. The desert where, on Shavuot, at Mount Sinai, we received the Torah itself.

Muslim chief prosecutor Khan is not “just” siding with Islamist terrorists, he is one of them! He is a jihad agent in a suit and tie.

Khan is one of their carefully placed Islamist agents, and the proof lies where it always does: in the money. Qatar, the patron-state of terrorism, scatters a trail of financial “breadcrumbs” that, when followed with clear eyes, runs straight from the terror tunnels and bomb‑makers it sponsors to the polished, English‑speaking “jurists” it helps install in key institutions. Each discreet payment, each opaque retainer, each conveniently timed favor is another crumb on the path, revealing how the same funds that arm jihadist Islamist terrorists on the battlefield also underwrite their secret agents in the courtroom, turning the very heart of international justice into a lair deep in the forest, built and furnished by those who wish to devour the free world. Just follow the blood money and see where it leads.

like a warped Hansel and Gretel, they leave a trail of financial “breadcrumbs” of terror that leads straight to Khan, their pet prosecutor in The Hague.

Are you surprised? Of course not. Look at him. His evil leaks out of him.

Now let us dive even deeper, shall we?

Khan turned the ICC into a terrorist lair in a robe.

The ICC, led by its Muslim chief prosecutor Karim Khan, moved to legally obstruct Israel from rescuing its hostages, including this beautiful, innocent Israeli girl in the attached photo, who was dragged from her home at gunpoint on October 7 by Hamas, an internationally designated terrorist organization. Yet Israel brought its people home despite Islamist Khan’s efforts to throw every possible legal barrier in their path and keep those Israeli hostages from ever returning.

What a champion of filth

FYI: Khan has faced detailed sexual assault allegations, potentially following in the footsteps of his brother, Imran Ahmad Khan, a former British MP who was convicted in 2022 of sexually assaulting a 15‑year‑old boy and is now a registered sex offender.

A family orbiting allegations and convictions of sexual predation. Perhaps that is why Khan managed to remain studiously indifferent to the fact that more than 200 Israeli hostages, including women and children, were being held in terror tunnels by Islamist terrorists who have been conclusively shown to weaponize sexual violence against civilians and hostages. In response, Khan promptly hired a law firm with entrenched Palestinian interests, even as he set out to pursue the leader of a democratic state fighting to rescue those innocent Israeli civilians - Jews and Israeli Arabs - from precisely this kind of predatory Islamist brutality.

Do you spot the irony here, to say the very least? Our poor Israeli hostages were abducted from their homes in Israel due to Palestinian terrorism, yet Khan is hiring a law firm with Palestinian interests. This is the morally corrupt monster we fight against.

Khan is not a neutral arbiter of law; he is a political mercenary in the service of Islamist terror, obediently twisting international justice to their demands in a broader campaign not only to bring down the Jewish state but to help unpick the very fabric of the free world. Anyone with eyes can see it written across his face: a jihadist lover who doesn’t radiate conscience or doubt, but the cold certainty of a terrorist convinced he will never be held to account.

It is long past time to end this grotesque masquerade and put him where jihadists and their enablers belong: in prison.

Let me repeat it, and let it sink in: in his unjust, outrageous prosecution of Israel - a country fighting brutal Islamist terrorism to defend itself, the West, and humanity as a whole - Khan has also fired legal bullets at our efforts to save hostages trapped in Gaza’s terror tunnels, where they have endured unimaginable suffering.

This is the moral decay: the same Khan with sexual misconduct allegations hovering over his head presumes to sit in judgment on democracies fighting for their survival.

The real danger is that Khan, yes that Khan, functions as a hidden legal minefield, tying the hands of free states while they confront enemies openly committed to annihilating them.

Khan’s Qatari Islamist sponsors who, as recently discovered, promised to “take care of” him if he went after Israel, all from behind the sanctimonious façade of the so‑called “Mecca of justice.”

And just so we are clear on the scale of this rot:

The ICC has never issued an arrest warrant for Bashar al‑Assad, the butcher who gassed his own people, hiding instead behind the technical fig leaf of “no jurisdiction” over Syria, even as other courts and legal initiatives work to pierce his impunity with national arrest warrants and novel legal theories. Is that a coincidence, or the purest expression of a system that roars at embattled democracies and whispers, if it speaks at all, when it comes to genocidal dictators?

On that note, I want to state a few important things we need to remember:

The only reason Hamas didn’t murder all Israelis on Oct. 7th is because we stopped them - they were committing genocide and to their disappointment, didn’t complete it entirely.

The court currently includes a judge representing one of the world’s most powerful authoritarian regimes: China
At the time of South Africa’s case accusing Israel of the blood libel of “genocide,” three ICJ judges were citizens of Muslim‑majority states where Islam is an official state religion: Lebanon, Somalia, and Morocco. And looming over this circus is the evil Iranian regime, the hydra‑head of global terrorism, cheering from the gallery while its religious‑political ideological allies in robes pretend to speak in the name of “justice.”

“Justice” and the Hague court are like two different dimensions, located in entirely different galaxies, light years apart. And who leads this clownish anti‑Western institution? Qatar’s puppet of the year, Khan. All roads lead not to Rome, but to Islamism.

The West is blind to this cynical game played by terror organizations that constantly and systematically undermine the West with its own ammunition.

Instead of devoting his time to Jew‑hunting, victim‑blaming, peddling dressed‑up blood libels against Israel, and manufacturing obscene moral equivalence between Islamist jihadist butchers and those who stand against them, the ICC’s top Muslim prosecutor should be scrambling to prepare his own defense over revelations that he has been on Qatar’s payroll, the terror emirate that bankrolls jihad from Gaza to every Western capital it can reach.

Khan is NOT on the side of the free world; his whole record screams the opposite. He is not merely “aligned” with Islamist forces that see themselves as part of a global jihad, he is one of the polished, institutional embodiments of that global jihad, the jihad in a suit and tie.

Global jihad is called global for a reason! It doesn’t stop at Israel’s borders, it brands the entire free world as the enemy and reaches for every lever of power it can seize, to destroy the same free world that enables them.

Muslim chief prosecutor Khan is one of the operative channels through which these anti‑Western Islamists drive that war forward, turning “law” and “justice” into auxiliary weapons, deployed alongside bombs, knives and terror tunnels. If you want to grasp what jihad means and what it is aiming to do to modern civilization, read the global jihadists’ own texts and field manuals; they spell it out with gleeful clarity, openly declaring a war to the death on the West in which any method is permitted and mercy is weakness. You can coat it in theological jargon, cultural relativism and post-modern scholarly footnotes, but when it hits our streets and our courts it collapses into a single obscene syllable: BOOM.

Muslim Khan is one of the hands pouring powder into that boom, installed in a key Western institution and using democracy itself to destroy it from within, just as Hitler once used democratic mechanisms to gut democracy and then bury it. If you still cannot or will not see it, that isn’t because you lack information; it’s because you are stupid, complicit with these Islamist forces, or both.

Here’s Khan’s brother, the sex offender, There’s a phrase that comes to mind in this context... something about the apple not falling far from the tree:

To conclude: Israel, throughout history, has faced biblical enemies of enormous magnitude and overcome them with its incredible abilities, brave people, and God on its side. Those who curse Israel will forever be cursed!

Khan, that includes you. Sit and watch the punishment unfold in a beautiful and divine way, and spoiler: Allah won’t save you from it.

Global Jihad Is Called Global for a Reason

Look, I would much rather be writing to you about a thousand other things. I have no shortage of subjects worth exploring. But how can I sit idly by when I see the West calmly, preparing the rope for its own executioners, smiling as it does so, the vacant smile of fools who don’t realize their heads are already resting inside the noose?

How do I live with myself if I see it and say nothing? I can’t. It doesn’t sit with my conscience. Because the video attached above is NOT an exception. It’s the essence!

In this video, an Islamist removes and readjusts the explosives he strapped onto a terrified child. This is part of the “process.” He is filming it as a form of satanic instruction, a tutorial for others like him, so they too can learn how to prepare children before sending them to die as what they call “martyrs,” and what we, the intended victims, call exactly what it is: suicide bombers.

3.5.26: ****My dad, Dr. Reuven Berko, pointed out that this video is not a tutorial showing how to strap an explosive device onto someone else using the child as the model. It’s a boy who arrived already wearing explosives, and this Islamist - who, in what sounds like a very heavy Iraqi accent, proudly presents himself as an explosives expert from a Shiite militia - is actually unstrapping the device. He then goes on to pray to Allah for them to conquer Mosul. So yes, my specific interpretation of what he was doing with the device was wrong.

However, that is the only thing that was wrong. What you still clearly understand from this video is that they use suicide bombers on each other, just as they use suicide bombers on us in the West. I’ve written many articles about this - especially about Israel, where this has been a deadly phenomenon known as the Intifada: the same Intifada they now march for on your streets and call to “globalize.” You can also see that they use children as tools of terror - among other forms of weaponizing children, they turn them into suicide bombers. And we, the good‑hearted people in the West who genuinely don’t want to harm children, are left almost helpless when Islamist terrorists use children as weapons or as human shields.

Finally, understand this: the Islamist who removes the device from this child and the Islamist who strapped it on him in the first place both hate us. Both sides would gladly detonate us if they could, without hesitation. They see the West as the enemy, and the fact that they are also fighting each other doesn’t change that. So this is the fine‑tuning I’m making here and it doesn’t change anything I’ve written from this point forward.

Long story short: in this case, he removed a remotely activated explosive device from a child belonging to the side they’re fighting against. But he could just as easily strap that same device onto a different child and send him off.

Do you see my point?

To them, this child is nothing but a tool. An instrument. His entire purpose, in their hateful worldview, is to detonate, to kill himself while murdering others, including children just like him, the so called “infidels.”

That is not a distortion. That is not propaganda. That is the raw, unfiltered reality of the radical Islamist ideology we are fighting; Our enemies, yes ours, the enemies of the free world, operate without conscience. None! No moral boundary. No red line. No hesitation. There is nothing they will not do, no life they will not exploit, no child they will not weaponize in their pursuit to murder us.

Their Greatest Weapon? Your Naivety

And yet, while all of this unfolds in plain sight, many of your European “leaders” -happily marching you toward Sharia law - are busy importing the very same fatal religious‑political ideology into your cities. They open the gates to the jihadists who carry it and spread it like a virus.

Then your so‑called “peace‑loving leaders” move to normalize the consequences of this reckless, large‑scale Islamist immigration. They normalize the antisemitism, the hate crimes, the rape of Christian women by Islamist immigrants, the “no‑go zones” that quietly expand their borders, swallowing neighborhood after neighborhood, city after city. And if you dare to be the child who sees the naked king and points at this terrifying slope you are all sliding down, you are instantly gaslit with the same tired “you’re Islamophobic” abracadabra trick.

The Islamist terrorist abusing a child in that video above is NOT an anomaly. He is a manifestation! He, and others like him, are being allowed and even encouraged to walk your streets. Among you. Among your children. They vote, just like you. They are gaining representation in your parliaments. And beyond that, they are having children at a rate you are NOT! Higher. Significantly higher.

Do you see the direction this is going?

Let that sink in. The math here is very simple…

Now, I don’t know if you’re aware of this, but I come from a very unconventional family. We are not a typical Israeli household. My parents are deeply involved in Israel’s security apparatus and have intimate, hard-earned knowledge of Arabs, Arab culture, and Islam; and we, the children, each embody different facets of Israel’s security world. I won’t go much deeper into that, but I will tell a bit you about my mother, because we’re talking about suicide bombers here and my beloved mother, Dr. Anat Berko, is a world-renowned expert on counter-terrorism, who conducted first-hand research in maximum security prisons in Israel.

Her books - The Path to Paradise and The Smarter Bomb - offer a unique glimpse into the inner world and motivations of suicide bombers who had failed, especially of women and children, and of those who recruit and dispatch them; the books are based on one-on-one interviews and dealings with terrorists sentenced to more than 100 sentences of life imprisonment.

So it goes without saying that my mom doesn’t study terrorism from a distance. Her work has been forged through over twenty years of direct, face to face encounters with terrorists themselves, including the founder of Hamas Sheikh Ahmed Yassin.

My brave mother persisted in her research in the face of real, personal danger, always at risk of being poisoned or physically attacked as she sat across from unfettered, bloodthirsty Palestinian terrorists who, only the day before, could have blown up one of our school buses, with her own children on it.

Her work also revealed critical distinctions between the Western mindset and that of Middle Easterners.

How did my mom separate the researcher of terrorists from herself as wife and mother, and what was her perception of a situation in which she, an Israeli “enemy,” sat across from a Palestinian terrorist? So many interesting questions that you might be asking yourself too. Maybe I should write an article where I interview her and put those questions to her directly.

My mom is also a policy maker who has lectured on counterterrorism at defense agencies, think tanks and universities all over the world including NATO, and in the U.S. at the Rand Corporation, the U.S. Congress, the State Department, the FBI and the U.S. armed forces. She was a lecturer at Israel’s National Defense College and the coordinator of its counter-terrorism program and a visiting professor at George Washington University; she is a lieutenant colonel (ret.) in the Israel Defense Forces, filled a security slot in the 20th Knesset at the request of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

I need you to understand where I come from, so you can fully grasp that my warning comes from direct, personal knowledge.

I remember that when my mom returned from interviewing terrorists in prison, she couldn’t stand the thought of anyone coming near her, including us, her children, not before she had taken a long shower to rid herself of the filth she felt she had been wallowing in, and not before she had thrown her clothes into the washing machine; I remember running toward her when she came back, wanting to hug her, but she didn’t let me, not until after she had washed it off. I remember it as traumatic for me as a kid, having to wait for this hug until after she had gotten rid not only of the actual grime of the prison, but also of her state of mind and the things she felt were still sticking to her from her talks with those monstrous terrorists.

As you probably understand by now, it’s not easy to grow up in a family like mine, and that’s the understatement of the year. I was exposed to, and lived through, surreal and crazy situations, and I still am. Some of them can be shared; most of them must stay concealed, and over time I will share what I can, from the same personal and authentic place I always write to you from.

For instance, I can tell you this much (and it also appears in one of my mother’s books): as a teenager, my mother once asked me to write a letter to a female suicide bomber who had already crossed the psychological barrier and pressed the button, fully intending to blow herself up and murder as many innocent Israeli civilians as possible, people who were simply minding their own business. The only reason they survived was a technical malfunction in her explosive device. She was arrested and sent to a maximum security prison in Israel, where she later met my mother, and my letter.

What did I write to her, and how did she respond? That is just the tip of the iceberg in the very unusual life I lead simply because I was born into this security “Kardashian” family ;) The Kardashian joke is there for a brief laugh; everything else is deadly serious.

I was constantly afraid for my parents as they did what they do. Almost from the moment I was born, I have carried an existential fear for their lives, knowing the kind of danger their work demands. I live in a state of constant alarm, an unending current of worry that never truly switches off. The emotional toll of this permanent fear that something, God forbid, might happen to them because of the immense life‑and‑death risks they take to defend Israel is almost impossible to convey to anyone who hasn’t lived inside it. Just try to imagine growing up like that.

By what means do these jihadist Islamists intend to push Islam into “every home,” as they so openly and proudly proclaim on every global stage? Have you ever really sat with that question?

I don’t see the overwhelmingly Christian majority in America, for example, suddenly converting to Islam out of free will, so forgive me for insisting on the most obvious and uncomfortable question of all:

I will never forget the day Baruch came to my school to tell us the story of the magic token. That day is forever etched in my soul.

“Baruch the storyteller is already on the stairs!” my classmate Hagit shouted. As always, I rushed to claim a good spot beside the leg of the wooden chair where Baruch would sit. We children gathered at his feet, listening with hunger to his wondrous stories.

Baruch climbed the stairs slowly, one step at a time. The tapping of his walking stick created a rhythm, a staccato beat that grew stronger as he ascended. I felt my excitement rise, knowing I was about to embark on an extraordinary journey through Baruch’s story.

He settled into his wooden chair and sighed with relief.
He must be at least a hundred years old, I thought, as he leaned his cane against the wall with a slight tremor. I quickly pushed the thought away, as if Baruch possessed some hidden power that allowed him to hear my inner voice. I didn’t want to hurt him by thinking of him as old.

We stared at him with sparkling eyes, full of anticipation. He began at once.

“Once upon a time there was a royal prince named Sheprachak, and he had a magic token.”

Whispers rippled through the room.

“What is a token, you ask? And rightly so,” Baruch said, savoring the suspense. “You are only ten years old, and the token is much older. From another time. Ancient, really. Just like me,” he added with a grin.

Back then, he explained, there were no smart phones with sophisticated touch screens like ours. And yet Prince Sheprachak desperately wished to call his beloved, the maiden Prichatzela, who lived in a castle perched on a distant cliff.

We burst into laughter at the names.

“All the prince had was one small magic token,” Baruch continued. “Imagine a metal coin with a hole in its center. That was the token. Small, yet essential. Without it, making a phone call was impossible. The prince would hide the magic token in the pocket of his royal shirt and leave his castle toward a public telephone, a square orange box hanging from a tree trunk, right beside a dangerous dragon cave.”

By then we were wide eyed.

“Though he feared the dragons might awaken and take a bite out of him, Sheprachak was determined! He lifted the receiver, dropped the token into the slot, and suddenly heard the gentle voice of his beloved Prichatzela on the other end of the line.”

“But how did the prince even have her number?” Anat jumped in.

Baruch rolled up his sleeves as if preparing the punchline.
“When they first met at the grocery store and were enchanted by one another, she wrote her number on his hand so he would not forget. What she did not know was that whoever holds the magic token never forgets numbers. That is the token’s magic.”

He winked.

“And whose number do you have written on your hand?” I jumped up too. Curiosity has always been my nature.

Baruch fell silent.

“This is my number,” he said at last.

A shadow of sadness crossed his face.

“Why do you need your number written on your hand?” I pressed. “Don’t you have a magic token?”

“I do,” he replied.

He leaned toward me slowly, his bones creaking. I rose to meet him halfway. Baruch looked at me for a moment, then, with unexpected skill, pulled a token from behind my ear. He placed it in my palm and gently closed my fingers around it.

“Promise me you’ll keep the token safe until the next story, kid.”

I promised.
Then Baruch left, even though the story wasn’t finished.

The years passed, and I am no longer a child, but an IDF soldier. And although I know that Baruch will no longer tell the next story, I keep my word and guard with care the token he entrusted to me that day. Like Prince Sheprachak, I too hide the magic token in the pocket of my uniform shirt, close to my dog tag, so that I will never forget the number on Baruch’s arm, and the endless other numbers.

Today is Israel’s Holocaust Remembrance Day, Yom HaShoah✡️

I’m a third-generation child of Holocaust survivors. Almost all of my family from my father’s side was gassed to death in the Auschwitz gas chambers.

Nearly 20 years ago, I visited the death camps where my family perished. There, at the gas chambers in Auschwitz, I recited their names out loud to ‘elevate their souls’ (Ilui Neshama). As we believe in Judaism, the soul never dies, and we can help elevate a soul to a higher place in its journey to the afterlife, with good deeds, prayers, and remembrance.

Maybe the best way I can describe this awful ceasefire with Iran is through a simple analogy: A ceasefire with Iran is like a fata morgana. You think you've found water, you rush toward it with hope, only to realize you've reached the same desert that has been draining you all along. The same old mirage. The same old trap. Only now, you've wasted precious energy chasing an illusion that keeps arming itself to boil you as you wander through it.

Do not lie to yourself. Get out of this waterless desert, unless you have decided you want to die in it!

Excuse me, just one brief question before we dive any deeper into this elegant performance of arguments over this impotent “ceasefire”:

Would it be alright with you if we Jews simply refused to be doomed?

Not a scenario. Not a warning. This is unfolding as we speak!

Imagine your own children and answer honestly:

Ceasefire or not, Israel will keep fighting Hezbollah. Just wait and see.

Many of these designated terrorist organizations, such as Hezbollah, fully funded, trained, and operated by Iran - exist for one purpose:

So what exactly is your argument? That America should abandon its closest ally, Israel, in the middle of a war to save Western civilization? Israel, who fights alongside it, shoulder to shoulder, brothers in arms. What happens then to America’s global credibility if it simply turns its back on its most trusted and strongest ally? To its standing? To its deterrence? Would any country still trust US protection if it walks away when it matters most, or would states start drifting toward the axis of evil because they decide it is more reliable than the United States?

This is not complicated. It is basic strategic thinking. Israel is not the sole reason America is engaged. Again: America is fighting this war for America! If you cannot see that, maybe your hatred of Israel is doing the thinking for you…

Let that sink in: Iran reportedly hides over 400 kilograms of enriched uranium in an unknown location. Feel safe sleeping at night knowing that? Isn’t this enriched uranium the magic beans that could make Iran’s dangerous nuclear program flourish all over again? I wonder... wouldn’t you say so? Do you really think you are not on their hit list? That is beyond naive.

But wait, there’s more: Were we able to eliminate all their ballistic missiles packed with explosives that rain down on our children before rushing into this premature “ceasefire”? Ummm... NO.

According to multiple assessments, they still field well over a thousand of those “lovely” ballistic missiles, the same kind of deadly toys that, when the mullahs let them fly toward Cyprus, proved they can already rake Islamist‑occupied Europe with fire. And that is just the visible arsenal, because every serious analyst whispers about hidden caches and covert stockpiles moldering in tunnels and bunkers, waiting in the dark for the night we finally stumble on them, if we ever do…

Now, with a ceasefire gift‑wrapped and handed to them, you can almost watch the missile count tick upward, along with their launch expertise and the leisurely hours they gain to shuffle warheads into ever more secret stashes, safely out of sight and safely beyond consequence. Magnificent news for the world, truly…

So in short:

What do we have here? Hidden stashes of enriched uranium and thousands of long range ballistic missiles, all waiting for the moment the apocalyptic fanatics decide to press the button. What perfect timing for a ceasefire. I am utterly relaxed, of course, like someone getting a deep tissue massage while the missile racks are being quietly refilled in the next room. Pure nirvana.

Ceasefire or not, we, the Jews, are here for eternity. We fight not only for our survival, but for the future of the West as a whole.

The Middle East is watching. Israel’s stock has skyrocketed to another galaxy when it comes to deterrence and respect. And that is power! Only the strong survive!

He knew full well at the time that Iran is rich in oil, has no civil need for nuclear energy, and faces no internal or external threat that could justify such ambitions. But sure, go ahead and hand weapons of mass destruction to the same mullahs who marry nine-year-old girls, and call it a “deal”.

Or worse, we might all end up with someone like “crazy eyes” Kamala Harris, who can barely string together a coherent sentence without cackling like a background character in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.

You think it is bad now? This is all without nuclear weapons. Imagine what happens with a few...

Imagine what this Islamist satanic regime, that funds terror on a mass scale, destabilizes nations including your own, crushes its own people, and openly calls for the genocide of Western civilization, could do if it possessed the power to wipe out entire cities in two seconds. Now tell me if a ceasefire is the way to go… literally.

That respects something other than death and destruction?! Can these medieval savages really be trusted to cease fire? Of course not… that question answers itself.

I know I speak for everyone here in Israel when I say: we want peace and quiet. That’s all we want. But it comes at a heavy price. I wish we weren’t surrounded by 7th century barbarians who treat murdering Jews as a full-time job. I wish we could enjoy peace for free... but unfortunately, we can’t. We must fight for it. 24/7.

You can talk deterrence all you want, but deterrence has failed. The Islamic Republic of Iran has crossed every red line for two decades and paid no real price. No consequences for the terror hydra-head that it is.

A ceasefire now is not peacekeeping. It is postponing the last supper. A guillotine is not meant for home decor, and this ceasefire is nothing more than dragging that guillotine closer to your living room while you simply close your eyes so you will not see the movers bringing it in. Those “security prisoners” we release from maximum-security prisons in Israel, Palestinian terrorists serving multiple life sentences for the barbaric murder of innocent Jews, including children and the elderly, often go on to become future leaders of Hamas or other Palestinian terrorist organizations. There is ample evidence for this. You are more than welcome to verify it yourself.

3. There is no rehabilitation for Islamist jihadist terrorists. They return to being TERRORISTS and working at it full time. You are more than advised to read my mother’s, Dr. Anat Berko’s, books if you wish to internalize this hard-core fact.

4. Islamist terrorists kidnap because they expect “deals.” The October 7th genocide proved it. Human lives, to them, are currency.

5. Sinwar, “Sin of War,” for those fortunate enough to have forgotten his vile face, was the architect of the October 7th genocide. Arrested by Israel in 1988 and placed in a maximum-security prison, he was sentenced to five life sentences. After 20 years, Sinwar was released as part of the “deal” to free Gilad Shalit. This is proof of clause number four. We released him, and what did we receive in return? A genocide.

6. It is not “Islamophobia” to speak the truth. That word was designed to chain your mind and turn your morality against you. Recognizing reality is not prejudice. It is the difference between life and extinction.

7. Jihadist terrorists sit in prison, funded by taxpayers, yes, us, the very Israeli citizens they wish to annihilate, earning academic degrees on our money. They pay NO real price. No real fear. This erodes deterrence. They should face the full consequences of their devilish actions. They should pay the ultimate price, and the other terrorists should know it.

8. The terrorists do not want to die.
They fear it. That is precisely why it works.
They want to die? Then there is no dilemma. Let’s help them become “shaheeds.”

9. We, Jews, are allowed to resist their so-called “resistance.”

What you see in the attached video, filmed in the New York City subway, is a Muslim man throwing a bag into a train packed with New Yorkers while screaming “Allah Akbar.” What you see a second later is immediate panic. People leap out of the train and rush to exit the station altogether, running for their lives.

Now let us ask ourselves why…?

What made them react as if they were about to be blown into a trillion tiny shards of glass?

Why did a single phrase trigger such instant, visceral terror?

What does “Allah Akbar” even mean?

In English, Allah Akbar means “God is the greatest.” And that sounds lovely, doesn’t it? I fully agree. God is the greatest. אלוהים גדול, as we say in Hebrew. God is the greatest - if it is truly God we speak of.

But can those words still carry the sacred light of divinity when they are screamed while babies are shoved into ovens, burned alive in front of their handcuffed parents, as Palestinian terrorists did on October 7th? Can they still embody holiness when jihadists yell it while slaughtering innocent civilians, blowing themselves up among children, wiping out entire families, and then parading through the streets in triumph, waving “God” like a blood-soaked flag, as if the divine were their license to murder with impunity?

Words do not live in isolation. They breathe through the acts committed in their name. And after decades of Islamic terrorism carried out to that same cry, people no longer hear theology when those words erupt in a crowded subway. They do not hear prayer. They do not hear faith.

They hear a death sentence!

They hear the sound that has so very often come a heartbeat before the blood of the “infields” begins to flow.

Slaughtering morality under the guise of serving Allah

It really is a behavioral response if you think about it. “Allahu Akbar,” and your body reacts before your mind can catch up. You freeze, your heart spikes, you nearly pee your pants (pardon my French), because it feels like a switch has been flipped. A switch to pure terror, and there is nothing pure about it.

You are already conditioned to know what comes next. The trigger pulled. The wire cut. The plane crashing into the Twin Towers. Or whatever horror is only an inch away, a moment from a brutal, unexpected death at the hands of fanatics who murder with a smile in the name of Allah.

Now this radical Muslim man in the video, who suddenly screamed “Allahu Akbar” while tossing his bag inside the New York City subway, later told authorities that he was only conducting a “social experiment.” That he wanted to “make a point.” But what point are you making, you atavistic, bearded demon? That Islamophobia is the greatest gaslight known to man? As “Akbar” (great) as your Allah?

After all, a phobia is supposed to be an irrational fear. But is it really irrational to run at the speed of light when “Allahu Akbar” is shouted beside a flying mystery bag? Or is that not fear at all, but pure, human survival?

“Allahu Akbar,” as if to reassure the very Satan they worship that the atrocities they commit are carried out with joy in its name.

Now ask yourself honestly, and you don’t need to love Israel or the Jews to do this, would you be terrified if someone shouted “Am Yisrael Chai,” “Mazal Tov,” or “Shalom” on an airplane? You might roll your eyes or feel uncomfortable, but you would not think the plane is seconds away from crashing into a skyscraper.

There is no other language on earth - not English, not Hebrew, not any tongue - in which screaming “God is the greatest” would instantly translate in your mind to “Boom”💥And rightfully so. Only Islamist jihadists have ensured that this is the case, that your instinctive reaction to hearing “Allahu Akbar” is the expectation of violence.

How many global terror attacks were carried out by Jews? Cannot recall any. How many by Muslims? Remember 9/11. London. Paris. Madrid. Mumbai. Nairobi. Jerusalem. Tel Aviv. Not all Muslims are terrorists, and I state that everywhere, but nearly every major terrorist organization on earth is Muslim. That is documented reality. And who are the largest number of victims of Islamism? Muslims themselves. Counter intuitive and yet absolutely true.

This is not Islamophobia. This is reality.

Those who shout “Allahu Akbar” while carrying out the most unspeakable acts of evil are not calling to God. They are celebrating blood. In their perverse world, these words do not restrain violence. They sanctify it. They turn murder into a commandment, cloak brutality in holiness, and wipe away guilt altogether.

But guilt requires a conscience. And conscience requires the ability to recognize evil for what it is. These barbarians have stripped themselves of that ability. In a mind convinced that Allah himself demands the slaughter, guilt simply cannot exist. No remorse. Only an orgy of violence carried out with absolute impunity.

In their twisted political-religious doctrine, every killing becomes a badge of honor, every massacre a step closer to some imagined reward in the afterlife. It is sickening, and yet it is real. Their hearts do not beat with faith but with an obsession to annihilate “the other.”

And the “other” means you. It means me. It means every “infidel” standing in the way of their vision of global domination.

This is the reality many prefer not to confront.

Do you have the courage to look it straight in the eye? Do you?

Weaponization of "God"

God is good. God is beauty, compassion, and mercy. And yet many radical Muslims of the so-called “religion of peace” abuse His name by murdering innocent children as if they were acting on His behalf. Words carry power, and truth demands precision. To see reality clearly, we must speak it clearly, without the distortions of postmodern political correctness that polish brutality until it gleams with false virtue. When we allow language to blur truth, when every atrocity hides behind careful phrasing and moral relativism, we blind ourselves. And a blind society cannot see the iceberg until it is far too close to avoid the deadly impact.

Now let’s be honest, as we have been throughout this entire piece. If the same radical Muslim from the video above had thrown the same bag in that same New York subway, but instead of screaming “Allahu Akbar” he had shouted “Free Palestine,” would the reactions have been any different? Would people not have panicked as if a grenade had been tossed at their feet? Of course they would have. You know that very well.

And why is that? Because “Allahu Akbar” and “Free Palestine” have become, in the mouths of extremists, one and the same. Both are used as moral camouflage for genocidal intent. Both are shouted by radicals who dream of erasing the free world and resurrecting a violent, medieval theocracy. Both march under the banners of “justice” and “freedom,” exploiting Western suicidal tolerance and the political cowardice of leaders enslaved to Islamist votes. Both chant for the destruction of Israel, America, and Europe, embraced by the oxymoronic alliance of far-left anarchists and far-right neo-Nazis. Both are kissed by progressive circles with a hidden death wish, and carried forward by endless waves of useful idiots who serve as the mindless vessels of radical Islam.

And why, under an endless stream of ballistic Iranian missiles, when I have not slept more than three hours in a row each night for the past week and a half, am I still struggling to write all of this to you? Writing under such exhaustion is brutal, but the answer is simple: When you are aware, when you confront reality and not escape it, even when it is ugly and unbearable, you protect yourself from being “Allahu Akbar-ed” into oblivion. That is why I write. Because I care. Because you are sleepwalking to danger in your "peace loving" European countries, and I want to wake you up.

Finishing this article must also include, of course, Allah… to those who murder or wish to murder in his name, to those who have turned jihad into their godly license for slaughtering us all, I say this:

Only Allah can forgive you for your monstrous inhumanity, but we, the Jews, must make sure you meet Him.

Every now and then I share something personal. Not because I enjoy it. Not at all. But to remind you that behind these words stands a real person. Not an abstract online profile. Not a ghost. Not a mirage. Not a digital illusion. No. I am real. Flesh and blood. I laugh. I cry. I suffer. I rise. I am at war. I endure, persevere, and fight back.

I’m sprinting back and forth to the bomb shelter every couple of minutes.

Down here we’ve got crying babies, elderly folks struggling to make it down the stairs without falling, shaking dogs on the edge of a breakdown… you name it, it’s here.

Why am I telling you all this, and yes, sounding a bit dramatic while doing it? Because this is not a performance. This is my life.

What some people casually scroll past as “current events,” or catch in soundbites on The View and other shallow talk shows, and from there form an opinion about whether they like my people or whether we even deserve to exist… this is my day to day. Not hearsay. Not a story someone told me. My reality. My past, my present, and my future. Pretty essential, I would say.

And I speak here as an individual. Israeli. Jewish. Zionist. All of that. And also as my more private self. A person with an inner world, with personal goals and dreams, with my own encounter with everything that happens outside the borders of my skin. I am not speaking only as part of a collective, as a citizen of Israel, as a Jew belonging to the Jewish people, which I so proudly am. This time I feel the need to bring it closer. To speak from that more intimate circle of what is simply me. Because I believe it adds another layer, another dimension, to understanding the complexity of this reality and its impact. On me. And through me, the understanding that there are millions of others like me, each experiencing this war against evil, in the deepest core of their being.

Yes, we experience all of this on a national level. Powerfully. Painfully. But each of us carries it differently. It strikes according to who we are, our family, our personal history, our personality, our circumstances. It transforms us in ways we cannot always describe or even fully acknowledge. Its magnitude reaches every level of consciousness.

I never write for likes or shares, though it warms my heart to see you engage. Nor do I write for money. My content is free and will always remain so. Your support means more than I can say, but I would write this either way. Why? Because I want you to know our side too. I want you to see the real Israel, not the lies, the fabrications, the false narratives, and the blatant propaganda you see on the BBC or the Qatari owned network Al Jazeera, which, let us be honest, is no different from the BBC.

I make this effort because I want you to see us as we truly are. And to me, that is priceless. I am willing to push myself, even after multiple sleepless nights in the bomb shelter, to write to you. To tell you our side. The one so often overlooked, and very deliberately so.

This introduction is simply to prepare you for what follows. I am going to share my thoughts and my feelings not as a cold geopolitical analysis, as I sometimes do, but from the gut. My emotions will be present. I will not hide it.

And then I will let you in. Not completely, but just enough so that history unfolding before our eyes will, even briefly, be seen through mine.

I will speak about myself not because I am a narcissist, but because I am not a journalist, nor do I aspire to be. I am a writer. And as the remarkable poet Rachel once wrote, רק על עצמי לספר ידעתי.

In a free, far less poetic translation:
“Only about myself did I know how to tell.”

Look up the full poem if you have not read it. It is magnificent. One of the cultural cornerstones of Israel.

On my way to my 86 year old grandmother, between sirens and sprints to shelters, I was caught in the open and ran into the nearest building; Inside, a 10 month old baby trembled with every interception overhead. Her whole body shook. Her mother whispered to me, “I pray she won’t remember any of this.” It shattered me. Because I know she will.

I was under two during the Gulf War. I remember almost nothing in images, but my heart remembers. The body keeps the score. This is how life etches itself into the children of Israel.

Born into existential wars. Refusing to disappear. Rooted in our ancestral homeland. Paying the price.

We carry both forever.
The pain that never fully fades.
And the strength that never fades either🥹💙✡️

“BUT PEOPLE” ARE THE WORST AND ARE NOT MY FRIENDS.

Meanwhile, I am running to bomb shelters, praying my 86 year old grandmother makes it down the stairs in time without falling.

My brother has been in IDF reserves since the war began. His wife just gave birth. She is sprinting to shelters at night with their terrified little children and a newborn in her arms.

My sister had to lie flat on the pavement with her three year old because they did not reach safety in time. She is due to give birth at any moment.

This is not theoretical.
This is not a debate.
This is our reality.

This clock, in the heart of Tehran, counts down Israel’s annihilation

We live under constant existential threat in a deadly game of Russian roulette.

So, dear “but friend,” Take your artificial, selective morality and get out of the way. Your opinion is about as welcome as a urinary infection.

We live just fine with our moral compass, doing everything we can to protect our children - and yours as well.

Don’t get in the way of us Israelis kicking the Ayatollahs’ BUTS - those who want the entire West reduced to ash.

Whether you like it or not. Whether you approve or not. Israel will fight.

Let me simplify it for the under-fives: The Islamic Republic of Iran is like “Pinky and the Brain” trying to take over the world! Kapish?

And as for myself, it is hard for me on so many levels. I had so much on my plate work wise. Important meetings that were incredibly difficult to schedule are now being postponed. I am too tired to be my usual effective self. My hands are shaking even as I write this to you. I feel exhausted, physically and emotionally.

On an even more personal level, I have ADHD and a very dominant Sensory Processing Disorder, which makes everything infinitely harder. I hear everything ten times louder in my head, in multiple frequencies. Every siren that warns us to run to the bomb shelter feels like my skull is splitting open. It is difficult to explain the decibel level at which I experience sound. It has its advantages in normal life. In this situation, it is taking a serious toll on me.

And now it is time to tell you about another deeply personal and profoundly painful impact this has had on me. It is tied to a terrible trauma from one of the previous fighting rounds with Hamas (one of Iran’s terror proxies) when missiles were fired at us relentlessly.

And this is not a plea for mercy, God forbid. I am not presenting myself as something fragile that requires your pity, nor am I comparing my experience to any greater suffering, God forbid. I am laying it bare because I promised you I would. This reality impacts us collectively, but it also lands on each of us in a uniquely personal way. This is mine.

It is very hard for me to tell. It was one of the worst days of my life. It was excruciating. But I will share it with you. That is how much I value you, my readers, and the special bond we share. That is how much I want you to understand the personal price every Israeli pays in these existential wars against the Islamist forces that surround us and pose a threat to Western civilization itself.

And it goes as follows:

It was one of those nights.

The siren tore through the darkness. No gentle waking. No gradual awareness. Just the violent sound that means one thing: missiles are on their way to Israel.

You may have seen footage of it. You may have heard about it. But you do not know what it feels like to be ripped out of sleep by that sound. I hope you never do.

At the time, I was staying at my parents’ house because mine was under construction. I woke up disoriented, heart racing, adrenaline flooding my body. We ran down the stairs together, half awake, fully aware, racing against seconds to reach the bomb shelter.

And Charli.

Our dog already knows the drill. Conditioned. The moment the siren sounds, she runs. She is always the first one there.

We burst into the shelter and she is waiting, her tiny body trembling from the explosions overhead, yet her sweet face turned toward us with that warm, almost reassuring expression.

As if she is the one comforting us.

On that tragic night, we assumed she was already inside the bomb shelter, as she had been every single time before. We rushed in and moved quickly to shut the heavy door.

And then I saw her.

She had been struck by it.

For a large dog it might have been nothing more than a scratch. But she was tiny. Her small body collapsed in an instant.

As I write this, I cannot stop the tears. It happened years ago, and yet I have buried this trauma so deeply because it is too much for me to carry 😢

I screamed, “Charli,” and ran to her. I will never forget her eyes. Her gaze was fixed on me, as if I were the last thing she saw. To this day, whenever a siren goes off, her eyes return to me. They rise inside my mind and my soul like a wave crashing into the very core of my being.

“Charli!”

I held her. She lay there, motionless.

My mother called the vet immediately, her voice shaking. My father and I wrapped Charli in a blanket and carried her to the car. Under a sky filled with missiles, we drove to the pet clinic.

It was too late 💔

They allowed us to see her one last time. To say goodbye. We both held her and cried without restraint. I saw my father, a man who has risked his life daily in the security world, completely broken. He could not stop crying.

We could not leave. We held our beloved Charli. We held each other. Time stopped.

I am writing this now and my chest physically aches from the sorrow 💔

It is not that I am comparing a dog’s life to a human one. There is no comparison. Nothing is more precious than human life.

But I loved my dog. I loved Charli so very much.

For weeks I was swallowed by the grief of losing her, a loss born out of this surreal reality we live in. A reality in which we are constantly fighting for our existence in our ancestral homeland, smaller than New Jersey, yet attacked relentlessly by 7th century barbarians who have made our destruction their life mission.

Only someone who has loved a dog truly understands this bond. They are not “just pets.” They become part of your heart, part of your family, woven into the fabric of your daily life. Dogs give unconditional love. They ask for nothing. No ideology. No politics. No justification. Love them, and they love you back with a purity that humbles you.

If humanity were even half as decent as dogs, there would be no wars.

I could not eat for days. I could not work. I could barely leave the house. The grief paralyzed me. Inside our home, you could see it on all of us. We were shattered. Not only because we lost her, but because of how we lost her. The brutality of it left a scar.

To this day, we do not speak about that terrible night. Not one word. It is too painful.

I have to stop writing about my beloved dog Charli now because I am reliving it as I type this.

She was a casualty of a war against darkness. We lost her in an existential battle. She is deeply, painfully missed.

And while you read this, understand something clearly: people are losing far more than dogs. They are losing parents, children, siblings, entire futures. Some are losing their own lives. This fight is not abstract. It is not symbolic. It is against a religious-political ideology that openly declares all of us infidels. Yes, us. You and I. That is the truth. They say it publicly. Listen to them. Believe them.

They mean every word!

Of friends and family leaving their newborns behind to fight on the front lines and risk their lives to protect us all.

You think of human beings. Real human beings. Forced to live this reality again and again and again.

We are not going anywhere! We never have. We endure. We fight. We wipe our tears. We rebuild. We prevail. We have done so for centuries.

We are the Jewish people.

That is who we are. That is who we will always be.

And I am proud to say that this is who I am.

R. examined the intelligence material and noted to himself with satisfaction that the agent had justified the investment. With a suspicious yet approving look, he reached toward the back seat and pulled out a black suitcase filled with cash. The agent took the suitcase, exited at the extraction point, and disappeared into the night.

The following day, the bunker where Yasser Arafat had been hiding was bombed.

It sounds like another installment in the James Bond franchise. But this was R.’s reality. He recruited agents, interrogated prisoners, and directly influenced our lives in Israel in ways whose full secrets we will never know.

“When I became an officer in its ranks, reality surpassed imagination.”

After his discharge, R. studied Arabic literature and Middle Eastern history. Upon completing his degree, he volunteered for a secret unit whose number cannot be disclosed.

How were you selected?

“At the time, the admission process included diagnostic tests, psychological evaluations, commanders’ impressions, and recommendations from peers.”

What did you know about the unit before joining?

“The unit was entirely secret in those days. No one dared speak of it, unlike today, when fragments of information can be found online. It fascinated me, so I aimed myself toward it. I must say, when I became an officer in its ranks, reality surpassed imagination.”

So what exactly is this unit?

For two minutes he speaks effortlessly, the language flowing in a way that barely matches his distinctly Ashkenazi appearance.

“Sorry, where were we?” he asks with a charismatic smile.

Charisma is clearly a tool he used often in his unique profession.

“Recruiting and operating agents is an art form. You undergo training, but experience plays the central role, including quite a few mistakes along the way. It requires a high level of sensitivity toward the agent.”

Who is this agent?

“An agent is someone who, because of psychological or material needs, chooses to assist Israeli intelligence. Or someone on whom we apply manipulations that lead him to cooperate.”

Can you be more specific?

“If we seek intelligence on the Syrian army, we research and recruit someone suitable to serve as a gateway to a more valuable target, such as a Syrian officer. It could be through family ties, marriage, a need for power, personal weaknesses. We investigate motivations.”

How do you approach someone you want to recruit?

“This is one of the most sensitive issues. There is no doctrine. Each case is individual. It is like a romantic act between a man and a woman. I create a cover story for contact and make the other person feel as if I am the missing link in his life. I identify which need I can fulfill, and I do so with sensitivity.”

R. refuses to provide a concrete example of initial contact, “because I do not know whether the agents I recruited are still active.” But when I press, he agrees to tell one story with modifications.

“I was sitting at a border crossing where visitors request entry into Israel. There you see the various motivations of those crossing. Some seek medical services. Some marriages. Some prison visits. In one case, I met a man…”

His name?

“I cannot say. He explained that his son had recently married but was suffering from erectile dysfunction and could not impregnate his wife. The marriage was in danger. Pills had not helped. He heard about a clinic in Israel that could improve the situation. In Arab society, such matters are not openly discussed, so I had to be extremely sensitive.”

What does the son do?

“He was a candidate to become a combat pilot in the Syrian army.”

How important was the son’s improvement to him?

“He said he was ready to give his life to provide his son happiness.”

Thus the motivation was revealed, and the ultimate recruitment chain was formed.

“He believed Israelis were monsters, and suddenly he discovered sensitivity.”

“To understand the personality required to recruit someone to betray his homeland, you must understand the recruiter’s abilities,” I reflect. The ability to create contact in a short time.

R. continues.

“After identifying him, I brought him to an interrogation room. Something about him signaled to me. Do not ask what. Intuition. Slowly the atmosphere thawed. Trust formed. He believed Israelis were monsters, and suddenly he discovered sensitivity, listening, and willingness to help. That was the background that led to recruitment.”

Eventually, the son, the Syrian combat pilot, required several treatments. Throughout this period, he provided intelligence.

What happened to him?

“The relationship became established. He was equipped with communication devices that allowed him to provide intelligence until recently, when we learned that his plane crashed during a training exercise amid the latest events unfolding in Syria.”

*This interview, it should be noted, took place before the Assad regime ultimately collapsed, at a time when Syria’s internal turbulence was already reshaping realities on the ground. Yet one important element remained unchanged, Syria’s entrenched hostility toward Israel and its strategic alignment with Islamist jihadists openly committed to its destruction, a reality that has consistently required Israel to remain vigilant and prepared to defend itself.

What intelligence did he provide?

“He supplied details about Syrian army deployments that contradicted warnings from another Israeli handler who had fabricated intelligence allegedly received from a Syrian source. That false information had placed Israel on unnecessary war alert.”

What psychological process does an agent undergo?

“Much hesitation. Loyalty to his homeland on one side. On the other, the pressing personal motivation.”

R. repeatedly uses the word motivation. It is precisely what drives the unit’s agents. A state of give and take. You give in order to receive what you need. So simple. Yet so complex.

“In the back seat, the Lebanese terrorist sprayed blood everywhere and screamed in terror.”

R. takes a sip of his black coffee and recounts an experience worthy of any Hollywood film.

“I went to a meeting in southern Lebanon in a car with Lebanese plates. Suddenly we ran into an ambush set by terrorists from the Amal terrorist movement, the organization that later evolved into Hezbollah. Dozens of armed terrorists holding Molotov cocktails surrounded us. I realized I had to immediately devise an operational plan.”

The second undercover intelligence officer from R.’s unit, fluent in a Lebanese accent, followed his instructions. R. told him to address one of the terrorists holding a Molotov cocktail, ask a question, and pretend not to hear the response. The man approached the vehicle to repeat himself and was pulled inside by a security officer seated in the back. The guard accidentally discharged his weapon, fatally wounding the Lebanese terrorist.

“I exploited the shock among the terrorists after the shot was fired and broke through the blockade. Meanwhile, in the back seat, the Lebanese terrorist sprayed blood everywhere and screamed in terror. Once we cleared the area, we opened the car door and he fled. Later, we learned he died of his wounds.”

And prisoner interrogations?

“It is not simple. It involves manipulation. Threats and incentives. Why risk your life? That is the threat. I will return you to your family. That is the incentive. That is how cooperation is created.”

Was violence used?

“There was no need for violence. They cooperated.”

“I became a person who expects more loyalty.”

Action is inseparable from R.’s role. But is there a price?

“I understand much more deeply the futility of wars. Yet exposure to life threatening danger clarified to me how convinced I was of the righteousness of our path. Perhaps I became somewhat less patient with those close to me. But I also instilled in them determination, because I was unwilling to accept complacency. Lack of support within the family suddenly seemed like betrayal. I became someone who expects greater loyalty. At the same time, it made me more open to understanding weaknesses, both my own and those of my loved ones.”

Is it not difficult to do work for which you cannot receive recognition?

“My family knows I contribute. I know what I did strengthened the IDF. That is deeply satisfying. I do not need broader circles of recognition derived from publicizing achievements.”

R. is a man of secrets. Living under such a veil cannot be easy. Few are capable of it. Yet he responds with a mischievous smile.

“There are people who enjoy keeping secrets. I am one of them.”

R. is fascinating. The questions are endless. So are the answers. He contains within him a world that perhaps only a select few can glimpse. “Living in a movie” is probably the most accurate term here. And this time, not in a negative sense. We are left only to remember what happens behind the scenes so that the show can go on…

R. concluded our conversation with a motto:

“Intelligence gathering is such a dirty job that only clean hands should do it.”

LinkedIn has banned me for life, and I believe it is because my pro Israel voice went viral.

It has taken me a very long time to write this article.

Something in me resisted it. Perhaps because it is still profoundly painful. It touches a nerve so deep that avoiding it altogether often felt easier than confronting it. Perhaps because I did not know where to begin. The story is long, disturbing, and emotionally loaded, and until recently, I had not fully processed it myself, let alone felt ready to confront it publicly.

But it’s time to speak out:

I believe that LinkedIn permanently removed my account because of my highly effective, unapologetic pro Israel voice.

That is not a slogan. It is a conclusion. One I reached carefully, reluctantly, and based on evidence.

In this article, I will show you why I believe this to be true. I will do so with screenshots that document selective enforcement and with a condensed account of what happened to me on this platform. I will demonstrate how my voice was silenced while users who explicitly called, in writing, for violent death against me and against Jews were allowed to remain active, visible, and untouched.

This is not about disagreement.
It is not about political debate.
And it is not about hurt feelings.

It is about enforcement.
It is about consistency.
And it is about whether a professional platform can claim neutrality while applying its rules so unevenly.

I will end with a question. Not an accusation, but a question that deserves to be asked openly and seriously.

When Jewish voices are removed from LinkedIn and calls for violence against Jews remain, what exactly is happening here?

This screenshot shows a response from a LinkedIn user to a post I published.

The content of this response is unacceptable. It constitutes an explicit genocidal threat against Jews. I believe this is self evident.

Accordingly, I reported the comment to LinkedIn.

LinkedIn reviewed my report and decided otherwise. The user was not removed, and the comment remained on the platform.

In other words, calling for the murder of Jews was determined not to be a violation of LinkedIn’s policies.

Below is a screenshot confirming that I reported the content and that LinkedIn declined to take action:

Now that you have seen a clear proof of concept, let’s move on to my story.

What LinkedIn and I have is a long, troubled relationship. Call it a romance if you like, but one marked by escalation, friction, and ultimately rupture. Over the course of this process, I accumulated a significant body of material. Reports. Appeals. Screenshots. Correspondence. Statements I wrote in moments of restraint and in moments of urgency.

Unfortunately there is far more than can fit into a single article…

So I will publish this story in parts.

Consider this the first installment.
The appetizer.

What follows is the condensed version of events. Not the full archive. Not the final word. Just enough to establish a pattern that should deeply concern anyone who believes this platform applies its rules fairly.

Despite its explicit nature, LinkedIn determined that this comment did not violate platform policy. The user remained active, and the comment was left untouched. Look:

So we have established the following.

Publicly calling for Israel’s annihilation does not violate LinkedIn policy. Publishing vile lies and propaganda that incite violence against Jews does not violate LinkedIn policy. Repeating blood libels and using overtly antisemitic rhetoric, including phrases such as “you people,” does not violate LinkedIn policy.

All of this is considered acceptable by LinkedIn’s Trust and Safety Team. Lovely.

By silencing voices like mine, LinkedIn effectively protects the endless false narratives of the enemies of the free world.

As you know by now, since the genocide on October 7th, I’ve been using my unapologetically voice to tell the world about the catastrophe that has befallen us Israelis, to call for the return of our innocent hostages, Jews and Israeli Arabs, who were taken from their homes in Israel on that Black Saturday and to raise awareness about the magnitude of the global threat we face: Global jihad is infiltrating everywhere, destroying anything in its path; it’s called “global” for a reason you know. I’ve also been fighting antisemitism and misinformation, which is rapidly becoming the dominant narrative, consuming and overtaking public opinion.

This is a direct threat against me. Do you think LinkedIn removed it? You already know the answer.

I will try to be brief and concise here. I will publish another article in which I will go into far greater detail and attach additional evidence to every claim I make.

When Palestinian terrorists invaded Israel on October 7th, murdering in cold blood over 1200 Israeli civilians and committing satanic atrocities against us Jews, we were attacked digitally as well. Social media became another battlefield.

And yes, I was triggered by the antisemitic comments attached. That is not surprising. Some of my reactions were not polished or presidential, and LinkedIn responded by placing restriction after restriction on my account.

When the war began, I had approximately 1000 followers. As my posts began to go viral and my reach expanded rapidly, the restrictions intensified. Eventually, LinkedIn permanently removed my account. At that point, it had grown to roughly 7000 followers and was increasing every single day.

I was effective in advocating for Jews and for Israel. For that, I was punished.

Because there is not enough space to fully elaborate in this first chapter, here are several essential facts you need to know. I will list them clearly and directly:

LinkedIn was my favorite platform. I valued it deeply, relied on it professionally, and I still care about it very much.
My work as a security consultant requires me to address sensitive subjects, including terrorism and extremism. This inevitably attracted hostile and inflammatory responses rooted in antisemitism, at a time when my country, my people, and my own family were under attack by Islamist savages on multiple fronts.
LinkedIn’s decision to remove me erased everything. More than ten years of professional history, my curriculum vitae, my network, my data, approximately seven thousand followers, and a body of work built carefully over more than a decade were all wiped out.
There are very few voices actively defending Israel on this business oriented social platform. Removing mine only further narrows that already limited space.
In emails with LinkedIn, they repeatedly wrote "Palestine" as if it actually exists on the map, revealing their stance…
After my removal, I took full responsibility. I expressed understanding and apologized repeatedly, both in extensive written correspondence and in a Zoom meeting that gave me false hope. It made no difference. LinkedIn was determined to keep me excluded, even though most of the posts cited against me had already been erased unilaterally before my account was permanently blocked.
I strongly suspect that LinkedIn’s content moderation decisions are influenced by reviewers operating from anti Israel states. This deserves serious and independent examination.
Islamist networks operating on LinkedIn function as an organized force, composed of both real actors and coordinated bot activity. When they identify an account that is making an impact, exposing facts, challenging propaganda, and disrupting their hateful narrative, they act.
They target it.
What follows is mass reporting. Systematic. Coordinated. Relentless.
Jews are few. Their hostility is not.
When countless accounts and bots report you simultaneously, your profile is automatically flagged. From that point on, decisions are handled by lower to mid level content moderators, many of whom hold a clear predisposition against Israel, as previously noted. Once flagged under these conditions, the outcome is almost predetermined.
You are marked.
You are restricted.
And eventually, you are removed.
It is that simple.
Reporting leads nowhere. Responding activates selective enforcement.
What is clear, however, is this. Reporting antisemitic content that calls for your eradication leads nowhere. Responding forcefully to those who openly incite hatred and violence against Jews, while they are allowed to operate freely on the platform, comes at a price. And that price, in my case, was total removal.
On many occasions, LinkedIn informs you that your report was successful and that the jihadist who called for your removal from this planet has been taken down. But then, quite often, another message follows. After a second review, you are told that the same comment is now considered acceptable and has been restored to the platform.
Yes, appeals by haters work. Ours rarely do.
This pattern is not incidental. It is consistent enough to raise serious questions, and I would welcome an independent examination to determine whether this observation can be empirically validated.

Here is a jihadist with a claimed PhD openly praising Yahya Sinwar on LinkedIn.

Sinwar is on the United States wanted list for actively plotting the murder of American citizens. He was the architect of the October 7th genocide, during which more Jews were murdered in a single day than at any time since the Holocaust.

He masterminded the invasion of Israel, the mass murder of Israeli civilians, sadistic sexual abuse, and the kidnapping of men, women, children, and elderly Holocaust survivors, including both Jews and Israeli Arabs.

Publicly praising him is considered acceptable content. As you can clearly see, LinkedIn allows this to remain on the platform.

After LinkedIn removed my account in this opaque manner, I tried relentlessly, day and night, to restore my profile, without success.

Although it was clear I was no longer welcome on the platform, I opened a new LinkedIn account using a different email address. LinkedIn discourages this (to say the very least), yet with no clear path to reverse their drastic decision, I attempted to reestablish a professional presence in this way.
Once again, my new account quickly gained traction. This time, I was exceedingly careful: I avoided past “mistakes,” restrained myself, and primarily directed followers to read my articles on a newly created Substack profile.
It did not matter.
LinkedIn apparently connected the dots and began harassing me with a continuous stream of procedural threats: “This is not a valid profile picture, change it or stay out.” “This is not your real name, change it or stay out.” One demand after another. An endless sequence of emails… exhausting and draining.
I complied politely every single time. I have everything documented and will expose this mechanism in depth in a future chapter about LinkedIn.
Eventually, LinkedIn locked me out.
FYI: Today, opening a LinkedIn account requires scanning your face and uploading government-issued identification. This was not always the case. After locking me out, LinkedIn instructed me to repeat this validation process: scan my face from every possible angle, rescan my identification. I was told explicitly that this would allow me to regain access to my account. I have screenshots of everything I state here.
That was a lie. Plain and simple.
I did exactly as instructed because I had no choice. After fully complying, my account was permanently banned. I remain locked out to this day, roughly eighteen months later.
My conclusion is unavoidable: they scanned me in every possible way in order to ensure that I stayed out. Persona non grata on LinkedIn.

Poof! Just like that, your entire online business existence vanishes and you're powerless against it.

The damage did not stop there. Many of my LinkedIn followers began sending me angry and confused messages, believing that I had blocked them personally. I had vanished without explanation. LinkedIn erased me without warning, without context, and without allowing me to say a single word to the many people who followed my work.
Yes, LinkedIn has harmed me on so many levels.
Below is the link I shared on LinkedIn that led to my second profile being removed. It is simply a link: factual, relevant and highly important.

I Paid the Price for Being Effective
On LinkedIn, I reached journalists, policymakers, CEOs, and other influential figures across the world with one clear purpose: to advocate for Israel, to defend Jews, and to counter the flood of lies, distortions, and moral inversions that followed the October 7 genocide. My writing traveled far beyond posts and comments. Much of the work happened quietly, behind the scenes, with full awareness that we are engaged in a battle over public perception, legitimacy, and truth.
Our opponent is not nuance. It is a colossal lie. A lie unrestrained by moral boundaries and utterly indifferent to facts. Behind it stands a vast and coordinated ecosystem of jihadist Islamists and other antisemitic users who outnumber us and operate in organized mass pro terror cells, without shame or accountability. Their objective is simple. To remove Jewish and pro Israel voices from social platforms one by one so that their false narrative can dominate. An Orwellian universe, in the most literal sense.
Since the war began, I have given everything I could. Humbly, but without hesitation. Consistently, and without retreat. I will continue to do so unapologetically, for as long as it takes.
But this must be said clearly: There is a price. A significant one.
My removal from LinkedIn exacted a heavy toll. My Jewish voice, raised in defense of Israel, was silenced. I was harmed personally. My business was damaged. Years of professional relationships and access were severed overnight. A network I built carefully over more than a decade was cut off without recourse. My heart was hurt, and I lost trust in humanity. I am sadly serious when I say this.
At the same time, users who openly wished death upon me and my people remained untouched. I reported them. In most cases, nothing happened. Yet I was removed with striking ease.
The contrast could not be starker.

Do You Think This Is Fair?
What this reveals is not neutral enforcement. It is a system in which guidelines are elastic, consequences are uneven, and accountability is selectively applied. And that alone should alarm anyone who still believes LinkedIn is governed by consistent principles rather than biased and antisemitic ones.

Have you ever heard a Palestinian song about peace with the Jews?

Israel has countless songs about peace. Songs written long before the October 7th genocide. Songs taught to children. Songs sung by soldiers. Songs played at memorials, rallies, and on national radio. So many that it would take days just to go through them all.

Here are just a few examples, so you will not accuse me of bluffing:

This is Shir LaShalom, which translates into English as A Song for Peace. And yes, you guessed correctly. It is a song that explicitly calls for peace: Shiri Maimon - Shir LaShalom (Song for Peace)

Here is another one. Salam in Arabic means peace. Israelis call for peace even in Arabic, perhaps hoping the message will resonate. So far, no luck:

And here is another one. Shalom, Salam, Peace, by an Israeli band hugely popular among young Israelis. The title alone already says it all. Do I really need to explain what the song is about, or does it go without saying? One line in particular stays with me: “We need peace like air.”

This is what we show our children; While on the other side of the fence, Palestinian children are indoctrinated to murder ours.

There are countless Israeli songs about peace. I have shared only a few of my personal favorites. It would be impossible to cover them all here. The prayers for peace in Israeli culture are endless, truly.

Now, let us take a look at what kind of “peace” the Palestinians are aiming for, shall we?

There is not a single Palestinian song about wanting peace with the Jews.

Go ahead. Try to find one.

You will not succeed, though I would be happy to be proven wrong.

What you will find instead are songs glorifying the slaughter of Jews, praising “martyrs,” and calling for the destruction of Israel. Not coexistence. Not reconciliation. Not peace.

You will hear chants like “Khaybar, Khaybar, ya Yahud.”

You will hear “Itbah al Yahud,” which means “slaughter the Jews,” often paired with that same chant. Investigate what this call to violence truly signifies and you will understand the threat. These are not harmless chants. They are explicit declarations of war. They are meant to terrorize, to command action, to be repeated and carried out. To deny their meaning is to pretend danger disappears by ignoring the sound of the words themselves.

Of course you will also find the catchy tune “Intifada, Intifada”

The “Global Intifada Revolution” is not just rhetoric…

It is a letter of intent.

And a deadly serious one - as serious as 9/11.

That violent “uprising” included, among other forms of Palestinian terrorism, a horrifying wave of suicide bombers who blew themselves up in public places, murdering countless innocent Israeli civilians!

I was just a kid when the Second Intifada started. We were afraid to get on a bus. Almost daily, suicide bombers, wearing explosive vest, (just like the one this “protester” is wearing as part of a “demonstration”: Suicide Bombers in NYC. Still think it’s fiction?) would blow themselves up, killing mothers and their children.

And it wasn’t “just” buses... it was everywhere. You couldn’t go to the mall without fearing you’d be blown to pieces.

That is what this explosive vest symbolizes. This is “Intifada, Intifada”.

And do you think it was because there was no peace between Israelis and Palestinians?

Do you think it was because of some “territory dispute”?

If that’s what you believe, then you are very naive and that’s me being gentle.

Now let me blow your mind for a second (forgive the wording): the Palestinians have proven, time and time again, that when Israel gives up territory in pursuit of peace, we receive massive terror attacks in return. The equation “territory equals peace” is simply false.

They sing “Intifada,” the opposite of peace, and the message is crystal clear:

“We did it to the Israelis. Are you ready for the copy paste version on a global level?”

And by the time you finally wake up, it may already be too late.

Listen to what they are saying they will do. Believe them. They mean exactly what they say.

Their Greatest Weapon Your Naivety

And then there is the number one “hit,” and forgive the obvious double meaning: “Allahu Akbar.”

Darkness has no God, yet it screams “Allahu Akbar” while putting Jewish babies in ovens and abuses God’s name to justify its inhuman brutality against unarmed civilians; Darkness is endless terror tunnels that suffocate the young souls it kidnaps at gunpoint from their beds, as young as a 9-month-old baby Bibas🧡💔

In the enemy’s perverted perception, “god” has a little notebook, in which he writes in gold, the names of those who hate the Jews and the other “infidels” the most, so that he can later reward them in the ‘aftermath’ of their pathetic lives… for those who actually kill the Jews (Jewish children and babies get the higher score) there is a special spot in heaven.

Sounds peaceful to you?

Why does this matter?

Because songs are not decoration… They are cultural documents. They reflect a society’s worldview, its values, its dreams, and its vision for the future.

What a culture chooses to sing about reveals what it educates toward, what it sanctifies, and what it considers morally desirable.

If a society produces no songs about peace, but instead a steady stream of songs about wiping Israel off the map and killing Jews, this is not a coincidence. It is a cultural statement. It is how that society imagines its ideal future. Its utopia.

For Israelis, the most idealistic vision of the future is peace.
For Islamists, it is the murder of every last Jew. Murder us all.

That contrast tells us exactly what kind of radical ideology we are dealing with. This asymmetry is not accidental. It reflects fundamentally different moral imaginations, educational values, and end goals.

How do you bridge a gap between those who sing of peace and those who sing of murdering Jews?

You cannot.

Let me repeat the simple math.

One side sings about peace.
The other sings about killing Jews.
Jews refuse to die.

So what do we get?

We get war.

We, Jews, refuse to let them murder us. And that refusal shatters their fantasy. Peace is being slaughtered every single day, not because we reject it, but because it is despised by our bloodthirsty enemies.

We, the Jewish people, are not going anywhere. Ever. And if the price of survival is the end of peace illusions, so be it. We will always fight back. We will never commit national suicide for an imaginary peace that the enemy neither wants nor even pretends to want.

That is not extremism.
That is survival!

This is not a conflict between two equal narratives. It is a confrontation between a society that has spent decades imagining peace, and one that has spent decades sanctifying death.

So tell me.
