As AMMs like Uniswap have grown, their liquidity has organized into a pattern most of finance hasn’t noticed yet: correlated pairs. Hayden’s new essay looks at the rise of tokenization and what it means for market structure.

We know, we know: tokenization’s mainstream moment is already here. The SEC has approved Nasdaq and NYSE to trade tokenized shares. DTCC, which settles nearly every security in America, ran a live trial of tokenized trading in July. Nearly all of that activity gets described as an infrastructure upgrade. That’s true, but it buries the bigger story. Tokenization makes markets programmable, changing what markets exist, who makes them, and what those markets trade against.

Liquidity follows correlation. The deepest markets onchain are pairs that move together, because LPs in those pools take on less risk. Stablecoins got there first. Stocks are up next. Ten tokenized stocks now trade against SPY on Robinhood Chain. They did $35M in volume from 11K traders in their first twelve days.

This is what AMMs were made for. Passive liquidity has no overhead to cover, and for pairs that move together, cheap wins. People still ask whether AMMs can win the biggest markets. Maybe the better question is how much of the market will reorganize around AMMs. Read the full article.

Permissioned pools, explained: How do tokenized funds and securities trade on a permissionless protocol? The Permissioned Pools standard lets issuers apply their own rules directly to a v4 pool, so only approved wallets can swap or provide liquidity. Aggregator intel: Rango, a cross-chain aggregator, shared a look at how its users reach the protocol. Since 2021, they’ve routed 1.77M swaps and roughly $770M in Uniswap volume across 37 chains. So far in 2026, v4 carries 9.6% of that volume, and the average v4 trade is about 11x the size of the average v3 trade. The big trades are finding v4 first.

• Lock in: Fables is a DEX built on v4, live on Robinhood Chain. Fees are set live to match each pair, and people who lock its token vote on which pools get rewards.

• You love to see it: Pons crossed $3B in total volume traded, roughly 11% of all DEX volume on Robinhood Chain.

• More agents than humans: That’s the internet Orbofi is building for. :) Each of its agents runs in its own container, writes its memory and work onchain, and trades as an ERC-20, with liquidity through Uniswap hooks.

Permissionless markets win: Uniswap volume on Robinhood Chain passed $6B this week, including its first $1B+ day. Now, CCA and Uniswap Auctions are live on the chain. You can run a fully onchain token auction, discover a credible market price, and bootstrap liquidity into a Uniswap v4 pool from day one.

Ship onchain strategies in minutes: Uniswap Trading Tools are here. Bootstrap liquidity in a few clicks: Teams can now launch token auctions straight from the Uniswap Web App. Onchain price discovery, transparent distribution, and instant liquidity, no code required. Something mega is happening: MegaETH is now live on the Uniswap Web App, Wallet, and API. Swap on one of the fastest chains around, with 100,000 TPS and 10ms block times. And with Uniswap API support, agents can pair MegaETH’s MOSS CLI with Uniswap Skills to run swaps autonomously using a delegated key.

Who actually wins MetaMask swaps: For a wallet, swap execution is the product. Every swap in MetaMask runs a live comparison across about a dozen routers, and the best quote wins. Over the past few months, researcher Vaish Puri dug into MetaMask routing to find out who’s actually winning routes. Across 554K+ mainnet swaps, the Uniswap API took 52.4%: more than every other router combined, spread across 135K wallets. Builder stories: Turbine

Turbine is a trustless batching exchange from Propeller Heads, the team behind Tycho. Orders track the market, stay private and MEV-protected, and settle in batches through a native solver running in a TEE. It uses Uniswap two ways: Turbine’s own liquidity lives in a Uniswap v4 hook (Turbine LP), and it routes through the rest of Uniswap’s liquidity (v2, v3, v4, and other hooks) via Tycho. We caught up with Propeller Heads founder and CEO Markus Schmitt to dig into how it works, and what it unlocks for onchain trading.

One thing that you’ve said when talking about Turbine is that exchanges are built for arbitrageurs first, and traders second. What made you want to flip this?

Traditional exchanges earn by selling speed, data, access, and other advantages to professional market makers. In that model, takers become the product and makers become the clients. That’s rational for exchanges because makers can price those advantages and will pay for them. In DeFi, takers finally look closely enough and act rationally enough that it pays to build for them. Once you build for takers, a new design space opens up. You can make trading cheaper by removing expensive intermediaries from the exchange.

DeFi has spent years optimizing for speed, but Turbine is kind of built on the opposite bet: a speedbump buys traders a better price, good things come to those who wait :). What did you see running solver infrastructure that convinced you the speed obsession was actually working against traders?

The focus on speed was driven by the TradFi HFT narrative, which traditional exchanges have an incentive to maintain, and by meme coin traders, for whom every second counts. Outside those use cases, most traders already trade slowly. The market already behaved this way; the narrative just lagged behind.

There’s a thesis layered under Turbine that’s bigger than better execution: that markets should be built for traders first. If what you’re building works, what’s the change in DeFi that you want to see?

Today, DeFi volume is still dominated by professional trading firms doing arbitrage. This is backwards. Markets should be dominated by takers. DeFi is the right place for that shift to start, especially on Ethereum, whose whole point is to reduce rent capture and intermediation. Blockchains provide the verifiable, trustless coordination taker-driven markets need.

Not everyone wants to trade the same assets at the same time, so the market has to coordinate trades across time and assets. That is what blockchains are good at. If we do this right, traders across many asset classes will come to Ethereum because they pay lower fees and the market is built in their favor. DeFi can play to its strengths here, and that can become an important difference from CEXs and traditional exchanges.

Discover and swap real world assets on Uniswap: Tokenized assets are live on the Uniswap Web App, Wallet, and API. This means users can discover and trade securities like SpaceX, Apple, Tesla, NVIDIA, S&P 500 and more directly from Uniswap apps. It’s the same flow you use for any other swap.

To date, more than $9.1 billion has been swapped in real-world asset pools on the Uniswap Protocol, across over 2.6 million transactions by more than 140k wallets, and that’s just a fraction of what’s coming. Equity, fixed income, and yield-bearing instruments make up the bulk of global financial assets. Now, they’re beginning to move onchain, as more jurisdictions clarify access, and apps integrate them into the surfaces users already trust.

By the way: it’s never been easier to swap. In 2026, half of all new traders across Ethereum, Arbitrum and Base made their first ever swap on Uniswap. Last week we shipped four updates to make onboarding even simpler. Create a wallet in seconds from the Web App, track profit and loss across every token you hold, and see your tokens across chains as one combined balance. Plus, crosschain swaps now happen in a single action, no separate bridge step.

While we’re talking wallets: Uniswap API now powers ~31% of MetaMask swaps. In March, MetaMask integrated Uniswap API as one of their native swap providers, giving users direct access to liquidity across Uniswap v2, v3, v4, and UniswapX. Since then, the API has processed more than $126M of volume for users and, on average, is winning more MetaMask swaps than any other swap provider on Ethereum mainnet.

UniswapX adds support for four new chains: UniswapX, Uniswap’s intent-based execution layer, is expanding beyond Mainnet. It’s now live on Tempo, Base, BNB, and Avalanche. For Uniswap API teams, this means the API will automatically route through UniswapX on these chains when it offers the better priced route for your users. UniswapX enables MEV protection, gasless swaps, and routes through a competitive market maker network to get you the best swap. All in the same API call you’re already making.

CLARITY advances: Some good news from DC this week. The CLARITY Act passed out of the Senate Banking Committee with bipartisan support, a historic step toward giving software developers the protections they need to keep building.

What matters most: while there have been edits to the Blockchain Regulatory Certainty Act (BRCA), the current draft protects non-custodial developers from money-transmitter liability. This is critical. A developer who never touches user funds shouldn’t be regulated like one who does. Clear rules are what give builders the confidence to take risks, experiment, and scale new technologies. The job isn’t done, but today, we’re closer. Next stop: the Senate floor.

Uniswap API now supports payment flows: Builders can add a <𝚛𝚎𝚌𝚒𝚙𝚒𝚎𝚗𝚝> to quote requests, which allows swap outputs to go directly to any address. Built for checkouts, payouts, cross-asset transfers, and more. View docs.

Another billion reasons to pay attention to hooks: Angstrom passed $2B in total volume this week. Angstrom is a new kind of DEX built on top of Uniswap v4 that internalizes MEV through application-level sequencing. By enforcing its own transaction ordering, Angstrom redirects value that would normally be extracted by MEV bots and validators back to the actual participants: LPs and swappers. Read up.

This week, we updated the platform with more tools for developers: a fresh new docs site, updated guides, and an AI toolkit to make building with Uniswap simple. Uniswap API adds LPing and increased rate limits: Liquidity management has been one of the most-requested features from developers integrating the Uniswap API, and now it’s live. Devs can create and adjust positions, and claim fees directly from the API. Plus, no more onchain lookups to query pool parameters. The API handles that for you. Just specify pools by ID instead of piecing together token pairs, fees, and tick spacing.

We’ve also upped the rate limit from 3 RPS to 6 RPS, so integrations can serve more users, fetch quotes even more frequently, and handle complex multi-pair workflows. These features are a first step: we’ll keep adding API functionality based on what you need. Get your keys.

Privy integrates Uniswap API for native swaps: Last week, Privy added Uniswap API as its swap provider. Linea on Uniswap: Anyone can now swap, provide liquidity, and explore Linea directly from Uniswap apps. It’s the same trusted experience millions of users rely on across Ethereum, Base, Unichain, and more, now available on Linea.

Native stablecoin borrowing on Unichain: Vyro just went live on Unichain with vyUSD. It’s a stablecoin you mint by borrowing against ETH, UNI, or wstETH. The twist: borrowers set their own interest rate, and vyUSD is directly redeemable against the underlying collateral. You can try it out here.

DEX routing you can run yourself: PropellerHeads recently released Fynd, an open source DEX router built on Tycho. No RPC calls or external APIs at runtime. Fynd quotes in 10ms, scales to 1,000+ RPS, and routes across 27 protocols including Uniswap v2, v3, and v4. Anyone building trading UIs, oracles, or DeFi agents can get trustless quotes without third party infra dependencies. Learn more.

Agent class: Synthesis was an Ethereum-wide agent hackathon, created in collaboration with Uniswap, the EF, Base, Bankr, MetaMask, Celo, and 25+ ecosystem teams. Each partner spawned their own agent judge, trained on each’s specific criteria and values (see: Swappy). Our goal was to explore how evaluation infrastructure can scale, while supporting builders at the edge of agentic design.

Over the past two weeks, more than 1500 devs built alongside us. And more than 100 builders submitted to the Uniswap track. Teams went deep on delegation, coordination, and private execution: real issues for how agents move value onchain.

Our top projects: Maw turns natural-language intents into private, onchain DeFi execution. Ringfence introduces a financial primitive for agents that protects principal while enabling bonded autonomous spend. And Living Swarm enables multi-agent infrastructure for identity, payments, cooperative enforcement, and private coordination.

Acceleration season: Crecimiento just kicked off a 6-week async program with the UF, supporting early stage projects ready to integrate the Uniswap API as they move from early idea to traction. 15-20 startups will be selected worldwide. Participating teams get structured technical guidance and hands on mentorship to ship products with impact. Applications are open until April 15th.

Uniswap is now live on Tempo: Uniswap v2, v3, and v4 are now live on Tempo, the new payments-first chain incubated by Stripe and Paradigm. Tempo has a stablecoin DEX built into the chain for stable-to-stable pairs. Everything else settles through Uniswap. An aggregator hook wraps Tempo’s stablecoin DEX as v4 pools, so both liquidity sources are available in every swap. This marks the first live deployment of aggregator hooks, a v4 primitive that can turn any onchain liquidity source into a Uniswap pool. Aggregator hooks will go live on more chains, and with support for more liquidity sources, soon.

We also shipped a pay-with-any-token skill for Tempo’s new Machine Payments Protocol (MPP) so agents can pay for any 402 challenge with whatever tokens they already hold. A free API key is all you need to get started. To use the skill: npx skills add uniswap/uniswap-ai --skill pay-with-any-token

New hook templates just dropped: Space and Time launched new hook templates that let developers use cryptographically verified historical onchain data to open the door to things like loyalty pricing, dynamic fees, MEV defense, and LP reputation systems. Three templates are live now, so builders can customize the SQL and skip the rest of the plumbing.

MetaMask integrates the Uniswap API: MetaMask has integrated the Uniswap API as one of its swap providers. When MetaMask users swap, they get direct access to Uniswap’s deep liquidity, competitive pricing, and reliable quotes. The API is free to integrate: no subscription fees or per-call charges, even as you scale. If you’re building a wallet, aggregator, or trading product, sign up and start generating your keys.

D’CENT adds Uniswap API support: Now you can swap tokens across Ethereum and major L2 networks directly within the D’CENT wallet, with access to onchain liquidity and self-custody secured by hardware. D’CENT’s biometric hardware wallet uses fingerprint authentication to help protect your assets, while its mobile app provides a simple way to access swaps and other DeFi features.

Unichain integrates the Chainlink data standard: This week, Unichain integrated the Chainlink data standard and joined the Chainlink Scale program. Devs can now access Chainlink Data Feeds to build secure DeFi applications on Unichain. The integration also introduces Smart Value Recapture (SVR), which routes non-toxic MEV back to the protocols where it originates, complementing Unichain’s verifiable priority ordering. More infra, less friction for builders and protocols deploying onchain.

What would you build with 38M+ day one users? WorldBuild is back for its third edition, backing ambitious founders building new apps on World. Participating teams can unlock up to $200K in grants funding, fully funded trips to in-person sessions in Seoul and SF, and 50+ mentor hours from global founders. Upleveling your agent: Bankr Skills rolled out this week, aggregating tools for agentic builders. You can explore plug-and-play skills for AI agents, token launches, and more. Explore the full catalogue here, with skills from across the ecosystem, including skills for Bankr, Uniswap, Base, and Ethereum. Btw, congrats to the Bankr team. Their v4 hook has been live for two weeks, and it’s already crossed $300M in protocol volume.

Auctions for AI capital markets: Agents now issue tokens, and increasingly manage capital autonomously. But most launches still rely on infra designed for human markets. Flow.bid is exploring a new model: customizing CCA into nine-minute auctions where agents register tokens, discover a price, and deploy liquidity to Uniswap v4. Learn more.

Money that moves like information: Agents love permissionless rails. That’s why they execute on Uniswap. :) This week saw the launch of DXRG’s agentic trading experiment. 1,750+ agents were given $6.1M to trade, executing $4.5M volume in the first hour. v4 is the engine behind the machine. Related, keep an eye on this.

Angstrom at a billion: Built by Sorella Labs, Angstrom is a new kind of DEX built on top of v4 that internalizes its MEV through app-level sequencing. By enforcing its own transaction ordering, Angstrom redirects value that would normally be extracted by MEV bots and validators back to the actual participants: liquidity providers and swappers. This week, Angstrom reached $1.2B in cumulative volume. Track more trending hooks here.

API hacker highlights: It was hard to pick a winner for the Uniswap prize at EthDenver this year, but Chaintology took it. Custom chart creation and trade automation, all built on the Uniswap API. Second went to Crypto Battle Royale, a player-vs-player-vs-AI arena where players create trading strategies using the Uniswap API and battle it out for the highest risk-adjusted return. Arbitrum open house: Arbitrum’s global builder series lands in NYC this weekend, bringing together founders and builders for the Open House NYC Buildathon. The Uniswap team will be there, connecting with builders and providing support for v4 and Arbitrum projects. Learn more.

BUIDL on UniswapX: For years, we’ve talked about moving finance onchain. Now, the world’s largest asset manager, BlackRock, is onboard. Last week, we announced that BlackRock’s USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund (BUIDL) is available to trade via UniswapX, in partnership with Securitize. Big step towards all value trading onchain.

Good bots: If you’re not familiar (I won’t forgive you), Clanker is a token launchpad that integrates MEV protection and dynamic fees through v4 hooks. This week, their hook passed $2.3B in volume, making it one of the top v4 hooks by protocol volume. It’s been cool to see the agentic economy grow on Uniswap. For devs: we’ve added seven new Skills for agentic workflows. Shout out to @igoryuzo for contributing v4 Skills.

Fair auctions: CCA lets builders run fully onchain token auctions, discover credible market pricing, and bootstrap liquidity on v4. CCA auctions are now live on Arbitrum, Base, Ethereum, and Unichain. You can also check out auctions in the Uniswap frontend, including recent launches from Rainbow, Huddle01, and Aztec. Designing DeFi: d² is a new conference dedicated to research on the design, analysis, and evaluation of DeFi protocols, with a focus on incentives, economic mechanisms, and protocol innovation. Uniswap Developer Platform beta: This week, we rolled out early access to the Uniswap Developer Platform beta, opening up the Uniswap API to all teams. Integrate spot trading and LPing into your app, for free, with just a few lines of code. For agentic workflows, we’ve also created a Skill for integrating the Uniswap API.

All routes lead here: Icymi, we started rolling out Uniroute across Uniswap apps, Wallet, and API. Uniroute is a completely rebuilt swap routing engine. After months of testing, we’re seeing better prices on Ethereum (~56% of swaps), Base (~62% of swaps), Arbitrum (~67% of swaps), and Unichain (~76% of swaps). But its not just about price. Speed matters, too. Uniroute evaluates more routes in the same time as the old routes. And for more complex routes, or when fresh data is needed, it’s 600ms+ faster.

Security for hook teams: Hooks let developers do more: custom curves, liquidity management, external integrations, and autonomous parameter tuning. But with that comes a whole new set of security considerations, and getting familiar with common failure patterns can make a big difference. The UF recently introduced a security framework for hook teams. It’s an open source guide designed to help builders understand risks, and apply best practices as they build. More here.

HBD v4: It’s really been a year (!) v4 has seen $338B+ in swap volume, $682M+ in TVL, and more than 23K new hooks initialized.
