While we’ve been hard at work bringing Daniel’s story to the big screen, through our new film Daniel and the Fiery Furnace, we came across another group of creators telling Daniel’s story in a completely different way.

We’re here for it. And we had to share it with you!

The last few days of the shoot were intense. We filmed with hundreds of extras in a remote location, during a national festival, which put a lot of pressure on our local crew.

Recent DANIEL Movie Updates

The production enters a night shoot and the backdrop is ancient ruins.

The film got special permission to set up in a world historical site to capture key scenes of a new character, Jeremiah the prophet. The correspondence between the weeping prophet and Daniel are recorded in history, and were an essential part of Daniel’s insights for his people.

Speaking of ruins, a key plot point was almost dropped in the filming of this update, did we catch it in time so as not to spoil the plot?

We’re past the halfway point of production days, with more than half of Daniel the Movie captured. Can we get an amen?

Today is the second day at the ancient fort where soldiers pretend to fight each other, real chariots roll, and the crew—God bless them—fight back the tourists and locals who, without vigilance, could ruin every shot. (We’re having some flashbacks to our last feature when the busy throngs of tourists pushed against us as we got exterior shots in Pattaya, Thailand on the set of She Has A Name).

The horses have arrived and they look glorious. Their white manes flowing in the early morning wind. You’ll get a glimpse of them in our production update. And you’ll have to let us know what you think of the new intro—it’s got some spunky music and new snapshots of cast and crew in action.

Prayers are coveted for energy and health. This is a marathon, not a sprint, and there’s not much buffer in the schedule. We’re so grateful for how smoothly it’s gone, and need that to continue.

You did not. It’s been such a hustle, with night shoots and new locations that we haven’t been able to fit one in. But, even though it’s short and sweet, we needed to squeeze in a short update to let you know things keep moving.

We’ve now filmed HALF OF THE MOVIE. Wow!

As you can tell by the silly and intense title of this post, this is one of the most wild and consequential days yet. There are over 100 extras. Key members of the cast. We’re filming in an ancient lived-in fort (that’s over 800 years old). It’s a busy place and for every shot we have to shut down traffic. Locals may be a little angry about that.

So we started early in the morning to beat the rush.

If you watch the video you’ll see what we’re capturing. It’s a bit of a gong show, but that, friends, is filmmaking.
