The past few saw us dining outside like it was the last days of summer (eeek!) and dining inside when dining outside wasn’t an option (the rain, oh, the rain!). We devoured every sweet, savory, art-filled event from last week’s Tick Talk: Weekly (some of which you can still enjoy! More below.), found some newness to share, and made friends along the way.

Still available to view by appt, the opening of Living Room’s Hole in the Wall paired crumbling color palettes and abandoned textures with Tania Alvarez and Tim Doud’s site-specific work (don’t miss!). Chef Morgan Brill and Slim Corvelli’s Studio Nota Di’s multi-day pop-up at Brunette Wine Bar diiiilighted. And artist Megumi Shauna Arai’s Noren workshop at Walker Street Market had us hand-dyeing fabric outside in dahlia petal potions.

We were introduced to A Tiny Literature Shop on Warren Street in Hudson last week by way of Dewey’s Wines fourth or fifth pouring (after two, who can keep track?) of beloved pop-up, Bar Dew (Tick Tip: MPO stashes chilled bottles for the basket of Little Rose, Dewey’s new grape apple release. Bring blanket, grab farm snacks, find sun. Repeat). A Tiny Lit Shop hosted the winemaker and a few dozen neighborhood friends, and we got to chatting with Kim, the owner, about the need for a tiny shop that sells tiny books (200 pages or so) for those of us facing an increasingly tiny attention span.
