It’s not revolutionary but I do find that it’s allowing me to feel put-together in a way that leans towards a more formal fall aesthetic but is still effortless for those lingering summer vibes; I’m calling it unstudied sophistication and I’m hooked.

1. Start with well-made basics in natural fabrics and add a bold accessory that fits your mood: a bag, glasses, jewelry etc; the clothes are the anchor, the accessories allow you to personalize the look.

1. ON ENERGY: “We are always influencing the spaces we enter and adding something to the field: more fear or more steadiness, more noise or more clarity, more fragmentation or more coherence. Perhaps this is the real meaning of the gate. Not a cosmic doorway opening somewhere outside us, but a threshold we create when enough of us become willing to see and speak differently. The gate we create through curiosity, community, and the courage to cross into a new way of understanding.” Naturally I reached for my tuning fork instantly (the one I swear by for nervous system regulation and facial toning). She often says that “a strong coherent field will overtake and entrain a weak incoherent field”. Imagine if we all focused on being that strong coherent signal…

2. RAW juice and 100% raw unfiltered local honey: We have a very unconventional doctor. I wouldn’t have it any other way. I was speaking with him via zoom recently about something one of us is struggling with. Without getting into detail, he suggested raw unfiltered honey- a teaspoon-ish per day and a raw juice of (organic always) celery, green apple, parsley, cilantro and carrot as both of these are known to “turn on switches”. Per his recommendation I bought this juicer and we’ve all been enjoying just a bit of raw organic juice daily. Fingers crossed…

3. CHARLESTON is home and we’re finally back after spending the summer away. I’m still working on guides to the places we visited but I also want to share a quick and dirty guide to Charleston that I’m getting requests for lately. October is my favorite month here for what it’s worth.

   

4. BACK TO SCHOOL is a couple of sleeps away and we’re jumping into 4 children at 4 different schools for the first time ever. This Natalie Borton Tote has been just the treat I needed to feel inspired for fall and all the things that come with. Truly such a beautiful bag and perfect size.

   

5. SALADS are basically the only thing tasting good in this heat and I’ve been making this one on repeat as inspired by a very simple but incredibly delicious one we enjoyed at my favorite lunch in Tuscany. Add a little protein on the side (ideally a regeneratively raised steak).

   -Cherry tomatoes

   -Quick pickled red onion ( I use honey, red wine vinegar and plenty of salt to cover thinly sliced onion and let sit for at least 30 minutes). They’ll keep in a glass jar in the fridge for a few days)

   -Basil (but not too much to overpower)

   -Cucumber (I always remove the skin and seeds)

   -Raw cheese. I’ve used Feta and most recently a sheep’s milk bleu that I brought to a pool party and it was a huge hit! Raw is best as the enzymes etc are still alive so it’s basically a health food.

   -Finally and perhaps most importantly, TRUE Italian balsamic and EVOO. It makes all the difference in the world.

   -Salt and pepper to taste.

6. STYLE in the 100 degree heat has been minimal (lots of Sport Shorts and Hutton) but adding comfortable but cute closed toed shoes (particularly these, these and these (or similar and a little less) to shorts and dresses is making me feel more put together and honestly better for avoiding blisters.

7. THE BOOK I absolutely loved this summer was Theo of Golden. I’m probably a little late to the game but if you haven’t already and need something uplifting that really exemplifies #1 on this list, you won’t be disappointed.

When I look at the above, the common theme I see is that it really is all energy. The way we show up in the world, what we wear and eat and how it’s made and what it’s made from, the things we consume and give focus, that’s the world we create for ourselves and those around us. We have so much power.

While I don’t know Carter all that well, every time I see her we have a chat that leaves me feeling inspired. She’s smart, polished and accomplished in an approachable way that makes you want to know more. I’m always impressed with how she juggles all the things with grace and is genuinely supportive of her fellow female entrepreneurs and friends. More of that, ladies!!

Tell us about your business and what you do?

I own The Works Cycle with my partner in crime, Sarah Frick and manage all things brand, marketing, events and partnershiops for The Works Sweat Studio, The Works Renew and The Works Cycle Studios. We have six studios locally and I wear many hats! Aside from the backend side of things I also teach classes at The Works Cycle! What started as help developing the brand for one studio, The Works Sweat Studio, has evolved into six studios and while my job has changed so much, I am consistently juggling multiple roles at any given minute, I wouldn’t change it for the world.

How did you get started and what most inspires your work?

After college I moved to NYC to join the Global Marketing and PR team at Stuart Weitzman. I started on the PR side and eventually moved to manage VIP and Global Events for the team. When I moved back to Charleston I really wasn’t sure how my job would translate here so I started consulting and I guess the rest is history. I was working on various projects, one of them being The Works, and ultimately that turned into my full-time gig. Of course I am inspired by art, travel, music and more, but nothing inspires me like female entrepreneurs (bonus if they’re also a mother) on every level.

What’s something that’s really working for you lately in regard to “balancing” it all especially as a working mother of 2 young children?

Saying no! You cannot do everything and if you try you’ll go insane. Between the countless people in my life who have amazing things going on that I want to be present for and support, to my children, husband, friends, personal life and more, it’s impossible to do it all and enjoy your life at the same time. Sure, I could schedule every single second of eery single day but I would be miserable and I value myself more than that. So, recently, saying no has been one of the most powerful tools in my life. There’s no magic formula, just don’t stack your plate so high that you’re living life chained to a schedule where there’s no room for spontaneity or quiet moments to enjoy.

Your home is filled with beautiful art and design. Any secrets to collecting and finding the pieces you love?

Be patient. Collecting pieces you love takes time and patience. If you go looking for the right pieces, I have found you won’t find them. The same goes, if you see something really good but aren’t looking, BUY IT! You won’t regret it. One of my favorite pieces of art is my Jimmy Hendrix by Brenda Bogart from Elizabeth Stuart. I was 9+ months pregnant with my son and my mom and I ran out of things to do so we’d browse shops around town trying to kill time. I saw this piece and knew I had to have it but didn’t have a reason to just casually buy it. Here’s the secret, you do have a reason, you’re building your collection! Patience and spontaneity leads to a collected, layered, authentic feel. Now anytime I take a trip I try to leave with something for my house. I always find the best pieces when traveling!

What 3 words would you use to describe your style and how do you approach getting dressed as a mother of two young children with a full, beautiful life?

Effortless, classic, chic. Whether I am going to teach or take a class at the studio, dropping my son off at school or going out to an event to support a friend in town, I want to feel confident. So much of how I show up in a situation is truly dictated by my outfit. What we wear gives us confidence and I know that when I feel good in what I’m wearing for all of life’s moments, not just the big ones, I show up better.

What are your 3-4 favorite places in Charleston?

Babas on Cannon, “secret” beach in the Old Village and The Works Cycle, of course.

I love to make a travel mood board as evidenced here to set the mood. I then apply this packing strategy to the list below to get it all in a caryy-on. Bianca Jagger has long been a style icon of mine. When you break it down, she truly encompasses the Vincent James minimal meets boho chic that inspires my designs; a beautiful illustration that a wardrobe of timeless pieces that suit your taste and can be accessorized based on your mood and motive is really all you need.

1. Drape long necklaces under Mary. There’s something very sensual and alluring to me about the way necklaces disappear under a V neckline as opposed to sitting on top. Maybe add a brooch on the lapel while you’re at it…

You run an amazing sustainable small business and have created some of my favorite heirloom pieces that I wear daily. Tell us about what you do, how you got started and what inspires your work today.

I started my non-traditional fine jewelry business 17 years ago out of my growing interest in fine jewelry. My continued desire to sustainably create beautiful heirloom pieces is what has driven me ever since. I want to create pieces that I can see clients and friends wearing for many years and passing down to their children and grandchildren.

What is one lesson or piece of advice you would give someone just starting out her own business or new path?

You have to love what you do and be prepared to work hard to reach your goals. Sometimes people want things to be easy or always fun, but it really helps if you feel fulfilled even when doing the less glamorous aspects of the business.

You always look so effortlessly stylish. What 3 words would you use to describe your style and what influences your style?

You are too kind. I would say easy, elevated, and clean would describe my style. I don’t do fussy and am not drawn to difficult styles. I like my looks to feel like second skin.

How does Vincent James work for your lifestyle?

For each of the reasons above, I am a Vincent James girl through and through. Heather’s pieces are effortless and can be styled day to night. I am a fan of a go-to dress or skirt that I can style many ways. The quality of each of her pieces is impeccable and intentional. I have most of her pieces and love them all. My next purchase is the Emma Skirt!

You host the most beautiful dinner parties. What’s one secret to pulling it off?

I have amazing partners that help me with those. I know my strengths, and cooking for more than six people is just outside my wheelhouse and causes so much stress. I think delegating tasks is a major part of any successful dinner party. I hire my favorite people to help me execute all of the details. I select a menu with Cate of Heritage Kitchen that will undoubtedly be a hit. I choose table items that make me happy and are beautiful. I have Lily at FlowershopCHS create her floral masterpieces. I invite lovely people who fill my cup. I bring in trusted photographers like Lindsey Shorter and videographer Luke Versalko who are friends and feel like part of the party to keep things natural and to capture these special moments, because I know I won’t if it’s left up to me. It’s hard not to enjoy yourself when everything is done perfectly.

You’re an incredibly loyal and generous friend and leader. Any final thoughts on the value of these qualities as many of us prepare our children and frankly ourselves for a world where authenticity feels like the exception rather than the rule.

Awww. Heather, you are too kind. I love hosting friends in my home. It feels like the ultimate way to thank people for friendship, support, and love. So many people do so much for me and have been there in times of need. I genuinely love being able to do something to help a friend in business or life. It’s what creating community is all about.

Day 1:

A sunny Saturday in Paris with no real agenda was a dream. I like to ease into the first day when traveling to really let my mind and body know we’re here to enjoy!

The Stay: Hotel Masse was a beautiful hip space with wonderful service. Travel tip- ideally take a flight that leaves the US around 10pm so you can sleep on the flight and wake up in Paris. I landed around 11:30 Paris time and luckily was able to check in, shower and be off to lunch by 2.

The Look: While I always travel in and love Leigh, especially because I feel comfortable yet put-together enough for the arrival (even a chic hotel in Paris), I was excited to get out of those pants, James and my trench in favor of denim, a fresh white tee, a new-to-me vintage leather jacket and flats that were perfect for all the walking we did and never once hurt my feet.

The Food: My travel companion Elizabeth has been to Paris many times and suggested we stroll around La Marais and a bite at La Perle complete with the perfect sidewalk table for people watching. I could have sat there for hours taking it all in. This is what I mean by making sure my nervous system knows the expectations.

The Shopping: Nuovo- I scored a pair of slightly oversized vintage Levi’s in a dark wash (something I’ve been hunting for) and E got a beautiful vintage silk cami.

The Drink: Back to the hotel for a little pick me up espresso martini before a quick change and dinner. PS the bar is a vibe!

Night 1

The Look: The Deborah Pants with a vintage silk blouse (ebay) unbuttoned just so with double-sided tape, layered necklaces and heels (according to the weather forecast, this was the only night I could get away with these).

The Food: Hotel Amour

Day 2:

A rainy morning in Paris calls for Picasso and he did not disappoint.

The Look: Denim, cowboy boots and Mary- my favorite piece to see my favorite art.

The Food: We tried to sneak into Chez Janou which was just around the corner from Merci but ended up a block down at a tapas restaurant with good food and even better cava. Unfortunately I don’t remember the name…

The Shopping: Merci had a Barney’s Co Op vibe but on steroids. I got a really fun canvas bag and t shirts for the teenage boys in my family.

Night 2:

The Look: When the fatigue starts to catch up with you and it’s still pouring rain, you reach for something that feels familiar and cozy but still chic, thus Coco + Calvin with a little black heel.

The Drink: Soho House Paris wasn’t too far from the hotel and on our way to dinner. It reminded me a lot of the one in Miami.

The Food: Billie was such a great vibe- the mushroom carpaccio might have been my favorite thing I ate all trip (and that’s saying a lot). The service was fantastic, the steak and the ambiance. We sat outside after dinner for another espresso martini under an awning in the rain. It was quintessential Paris perfection!

Lia Burke Libaire is one of those women you’re instantly drawn to- charismatic, engaging, and a lot of fun but also so incredibly talented, a savvy business woman and authentically herself. It was such a pleasure to spend the afternoon playing dress up in her gorgeous home and getting to know this beauty a little better. Below is a little Q+A with Lia.

Tell us about your business and what you do.

I have two separate business, my art which is sold under my name- this would be actual paintings, prints, and products that I sell directly or through other channels, stores, websites, etc. I love what I do because there are so many different facets to my business, I am lucky enough to partner with some of my favorite brands and companies, KRB in NYC, Moda Operandi, or even with licensing artwork to the Grateful Dead! I also co-own textile business Brier and Byrd which is wallpaper (soon to be fabrics!) that are based off my artwork and designs. We are mainly a ‘to the trade’ design company and are sold in showrooms across the country.

How did you get started and what most inspires your work?

I am inspired by so much- history, architecture, fashion, my children, movies, but my number one inspiration is nature of all kinds- it is timeless and just what I always come back to. I went through a divorce a little more than 10 year ago and started painting again as an outlet. I became a little obsessed and started sharing my work on Instagram, I slowly started selling work and getting commissions and other projects. I eventually got a job for a public installation in Boston and realized that I couldn’t promote/share it properly while still working my design job so it was time to make the jump to full time artist.

Your home is a beautiful curation of art, objects and color. What advice would you give to someone looking to achieve this authentic layered look?

Thank you! I agree that layering is key, and in order to do this well, I think things can’t be rushed. To me a home is never ‘done,’ it is a constantly evolving space based on your needs in life and your tastes, likes and dislikes... all of which can and do change. I believe that mixing pieces that have meaning (familial, sentimental, or just something that speaks to you) along with antiques and art/objects that you love makes a home feel personal and interesting.

Any favorite paint colors for the home?

I think I have a knack for paint colors! I’d say my most asked about paint color in my home is Misty by Sherwin Williams- its the very, very light greyish blue in our living room. It looks great in daylight and warm evening light and is a great backdrop for art. We also have Farrow and Ball’s Calke Green in our dining nook and it add such a nice jolt of color to our otherwise neutral kitchen.

What 3 words would you use to describe your style and how do you approach getting dressed as a mother of two young children with a creative business and beautiful full life?

Classic, comfortable, personal. Fit is something important to me, not tailored necessarily, but something that I feel confident in and that suits my shape/body- I am 44 now and I feel like I know what looks good on me and what doesn’t. Comfort has become of utmost importance and I want to feel like my clothes are still flattering while being easy to move in. I am drawn to more classic shapes and pieces, button down shirts, well made blazers and jackets, the perfect fitting jean or pant. I feel like I make these outfits my own with jewelry and accessories. I collect pieces that I love and really try to use and wear them every day. If I am able, I like to buy jewelry (or even nice bags or shoes) when on vacation to mark the memory or signify meaningful events in my life.

Below is a beautiful Q+A with Hailey Lowe Fennell with images shot in the home she’s building on Sullivan’s Island.

Tell us about how you came into your work as a psychic medium.

I believe everyone has this ability. I didn’t come into this work because I felt chosen or different. I came into it because I was deeply interested in it. That curiosity felt persistent, almost practical, like maybe this is a thing I’m meant to pay attention to.

As a kid, I honestly thought everyone could see, hear, and know things through the spiritual resonance around them. I assumed we were all picking up on the same layers of information. Over time, I realized that while many people sense these things, not everyone follows them. I did. I kept moving toward it, asking questions, practicing, and trusting what I noticed.

Now, that’s often the advice I give others. The things you’re interested in are rarely random. They’re usually clues. In my case, that interest became a calling because I treated it like one. But I truly believe anyone who wants to develop this way of knowing can. The gift isn’t exclusive. It’s responsive.

What advice or suggestion would you give someone who wants to develop these skills for herself?

I believe this kind of connection is meant to fit inside real life. I don’t meditate for long stretches or build my days around spiritual practices. The work begins by paying attention while you’re living. I write about this on my Substack because I wanted to give people a faster, more direct way to connect in.

A strong place to start is with something that feels unclear in your life right now. Form a clear question. Choose a person who has passed or imagine a guide if no one specific comes to mind. Ask for clarity around that question, then move through your day as normal.

About 24 hours later, notice what feels clearer in any area of your life. You may not receive a direct answer, but you’ll often gain clarity somewhere else. That information shows you which guide is helping, or what needs attention before the bigger question can resolve.

Development comes from consistency, not intensity. Anyone can strengthen their intuitive awareness if they’re willing to notice and respond, even in small, steady ways.

What does your day-to-day look like as a psychic medium?

My days are a mix of structured work and mom life. I give readings, write, meet with collaborators, and spend a lot of time building bc we love, a grief wellness brand rooted in care and remembrance for people navigating loss, launching this spring.

That work comes directly from my experience as a Psychic Medium. Grief isn’t just emotional. It’s logistical, physical, and deeply human. bc we love is about supporting people through those moments with guidance, objects, and easy rituals that feel steady and considered, not overwhelming.

I’m also a mom to my two kids and we have two dogs, and right now we’re building a home on Sullivan’s Island. My husband is the builder, and I get to take on the parts I love most. I’m deeply interested in connected interiors and objects that tell a story, so a lot of my days are currently spent in the very enjoyable ether of fabrics, lighting, tile, and materials.

Day to day, my work moves between the unseen and the practical.

I sat with you in October and you shared something I couldn’t see for myself at the time, but that later came into my orbit. Can you share experiences like that?

Yes, this happens! I think connection is just as much about trust in timing as it is about clarity. When something doesn’t make sense right away, there’s power in allowing it to unfold when it’s meant to.

Of course, it’s satisfying when everything lands clearly in a reading. I love that too. But spirit often offers information that’s meant to be understood later. In that way, it becomes a deeper confirmation. A reminder that they’re present, paying attention, and moving with us beyond what we can immediately grasp.

I see it as similar to my own path. I never would have guessed I’d become a Psychic Medium when I was nine, but looking back, the signs were there again and again. The knowing came first. The understanding came later.

As a clothing designer, I talk a lot about the elevated frequencies or energy of natural fabrics. Considering what you do, how would you explain this?

I really appreciate the way you think about this, and it aligns with how I experience objects and materials in my own life. Energy and frequency are real, and fabrics absolutely carry them.

In psychic mediumship, we’d call this psychometry, sensing information through an object. It’s a common way mediums connect in. But it’s also a great example of how intuitive we all are. We feel things physically first.

We all know the difference between our favorite sweatpants and the pair we only wear when everything else is in the wash. Our bodies recognize what feels supportive, familiar, and good to be in.

I notice this with the pieces I reach for most, like my Vincent James sweater. Certain fabrics feel grounding and connective in a way that’s hard to explain but easy to feel. What we wear becomes part of how we move through the world, and natural materials made with care tend to support that connection in a meaningful way.

You’re currently building a house. Any thoughts or insights on how to design a space that allows us to be most in-touch with our intuition or spirit guides?

My biggest advice is to let your home reflect who you actually are, which may take some remembering and a bit of soul-searching. It’s easy to get distracted by trends or what a space “should” look like.

Connection happens more easily when you’re surrounded by what you genuinely like and how you want to feel. Slowly replacing things with pieces you’re drawn to is a great place to start. For me, that looks like warm woods, texture, greens, reds, browns, blacks, and a good bit of orange. It probably doesn’t make sense on paper, but it feels right in the space.

Pro tip: pick your top five favorite colors for your home by asking a few simple questions. What color calms you? What color helps you feel focused or driven if you work from home? What color makes you feel inspired or energized? From there, start layering those colors in while paying attention to textures that feel good too. Feeling neutral about something can still be a yes. We often connect deeply in spaces that put our minds and bodies at ease. That’s intuitive design in practice.

I’m having fun designing our guest bath right now by asking, “What would a Scorpio want to experience in here?” And honestly, much of the house has become a nod to what a minimalist woodland witch might want to walk into. It’s helped me narrow down what I like and how I want to feel. When a space reflects you, it connects and grounds you quickly, without trying.

I love your laid-back, effortless style. What is it about Vincent James that fits with your lifestyle and ethos? And what three words would you use to describe your style?

Vincent James works for me because I can wear the same piece with my kids in the morning, to work, and into the evening without feeling like I need to change or reset. The pieces feel special and intentional, supporting how I actually move through my day.

Movement is the most important ritual in my life. I don’t meditate, so moving my body has become my meditation. I love dropping my kids off, taking a class at The Works, Works Cycle, ACE, or The Pilates House, and then slipping on something that feels easy and good. That transition sets the tone for my workday, from school drop-off to pickup and into the evening.

When I feel comfortable and at ease in what I’m wearing, I feel more connected and in flow. Clothes shouldn’t interrupt your rhythm. They should support it. Vincent James does that beautifully.

Three words I’d use to describe my style: minimal, edgy, lived-in.

As the year of the fire horse approaches, do you have any insight or advice for us as a collective?

The fire horse carries a lot of momentum. It’s bold, fast, and forward-moving, but it doesn’t respond well to hesitation or half-choices.

My advice is to pay attention to what keeps piquing your interest. The fire horse rewards movement, even imperfect movement. Waiting until everything makes sense may feel safe, but this is a year that favors engagement over delay. You can also choose a guide or loved one on the other side to help you recognize what action to take. Think of someone who was good at moving forward, not a perfectionist, but a mover and a shaker. It could be someone you knew well, someone you knew peripherally, or even a public figure or artist. They can all show up for us. I’ve been thinking a lot about Catherine O’Hara lately and integrating her quirky, genius energy into my own life.

There’s also a reminder here about independence. Choosing your own pace. Action doesn’t have to be fast to be effective. Trusting your instincts even when they don’t match the expectations around you. When you move in alignment, things tend to organize themselves more quickly than you expect.

• My mom just gifted me her vintage fur coat and it’s changing my entire February personality and almost making me embrace this unusually cold and dreary Charleston weather. Turns out a great vintage piece can regenerate you in winter.

• Speaking of vintage, there’s so much great vintage silver on Etsy. I just bought a necklace very similar to this and plan to wear it with Mary and James layered with a long pendant necklace that belonged to my grandmother.

• When Kelly Wearstler suggests you make a “vibe tray” you drop everything and execute- a great way to break out of a creative funk and salvage the last herbs of the season.

• Speaking of funk, let’s just embrace the funk that can be February rather than fight it and use these last few days of the year of the snake to play with new combinations in fashion and food. I’m particularly loving the juxtaposition of a long strand of pearls with an oversized white tee and vintage Levi’s, sized up sweatshirts with straight leg denim and heels, and oversized vintage coats layered over Leigh or relaxed denim and VJ favorites. As for food, it’s any veg I have on hand sauteed with fish sauce, coconut aminos, local regenerative ground beef and a bit of bone broth keeping me nourished a lot lately.

• Regenerative Farm Stays are all the rage. I’m attending a community event here this summer and dying to click book on this and in my dreams this too.

• I don’t know what it is about Matthieu Blazy but I just love him. His interpretation of Chanel in the spring/summer couture show inspired me to pull the trigger on bringing back our own regenerative interpretation of Chanel- the Coco Cardigan for spring rather than waiting for fall. Also love his model here (and our model right ;)

• Katie Demin, MD is listening to this Golden Ratio and now so am I.

• Psych-K, another recommendation from Dr. Katie, finally made it’s way into my life via sessions with Ash Cubulka. PSYCH-K® “is a proven and safe way to change subconscious beliefs that perpetuate old habits of thinking and behaving that you would like to change”. I’m really excited about the progress and also discoveries made through her mapping of my human design- so much great information.

I first met Amber 7 years ago at a school orientation for our then 20-month-old daughters. We had both recently moved to Charleston, Amber from NYC and I from Chicago, and we were the only two people in the orientation (and possibly the whole town at that time) wearing all black. I instantly knew we would be friends. And the rest, as they say, is history!

Below is a little Q+A with entrepreneur, model and mom, Amber Scott.

You always look so effortlessly stylish. What 3 words would you use to describe your style and what influences it?

-Classic, laid-back & edgy

I let fit do the talking. Many of my pieces are tailored, shaped, or subtly reworked so they feel personal and effortless. There’s always a quiet edge to my style—an undone button, a sharp shoulder, a relaxed drape—bringing a rock-and-roll ease that balances polish with confidence. My style is rooted in clean lines, neutral palettes, and plenty of black or deep, moody tones, anchored by timeless staples like tailored suits, leather jackets, slip dresses, tees, and denim.

You run an amazing small business. Tell us about it.

Thank you — that truly means a lot. I’m the founder of 80 Muze, a clean, non-toxic fragrance house rooted in feeling and memory. Each scent tells a story and is inspired by family, personality, and different seasons of my life. I want the fragrances to feel personal, lived-in, and a little addictive.

I’m very intentional about what goes into each formula because what we put on our skin matters. At its core, fragrance should make you feel good — grounded, confident, and connected while becoming part of your everyday rhythm.

What is one lesson or piece of advice you would give someone just starting her own business or brand?

Trust your intuition and let yourself learn as you go. You don’t need everything figured out on day one. Move at your own pace and don’t compare your beginning to someone else’s middle. Some of my biggest lessons came from simply doing — trying things, adjusting, and learning along the way. Not just about business, but about myself too. Take your time, move with intention, and remember that steady, aligned growth will always last longer than fast expansion. Build something that supports your life and grows with you.

You have just about every Vincent James piece. What’s a must-have for someone starting a regenerative capsule wardrobe?

If I had to choose, I’d say start with your perfectly tailored Mary blazer and a foundational knit or tee. Those are the pieces that anchor everything else, you can dress them up, down, layer them, and wear them season after season. I believe a regenerative capsule wardrobe isn’t about excess, but intention & versatility. Choose pieces that will age with you and your lifestyle!

1. Quality Water.

   Our bodies are around 60% water and every organ needs it to function properly. It makes sense that if we want our skin to glow, our water must be optimal.

   I’ve spoken my praises of Katie Deming, MD before, but let me remind you again- Katie is an oncologist “transcending the boundaries of conventional and integrative medicine to create a new paradigm of cancer prevention, treatment, and post-treatment healing”. If you’re thinking, “well I don’t have cancer so why would I listen to her” that’s exactly what I thought until she started talking and I was instantly drawn to her message of optimal healing and health, especially considering we are living in a world with so many toxic inputs- not only physical but emotional and spiritual. I would 1000% recommend starting from the beginning and listening to every podcast but if you want to jump to the one where she recommends what kind of water to drink, then start here. I have often been confused about what filtration system is best etc. and she lays it out beautifully. She’s a wealth of knowledge and someone who resonates so deeply.

   PS- I can attest to my long-time love of the water structuring water wand- I just bought my 3rd one after two unfortunate mishaps with the first two. I use it both for my water and to massage my face similar to how you would with a gua sha tool- I especially love it around my eyes.

2. Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture

   I’ve done this for a few years now and couldn’t love it more. The needles along with the gua sha and cupping enhance vitality, glow, regenerate the skin and collagen and release tension which can lead to sagging and asymmetry. My current treatment includes needles behind the ears or as she calls them “the facelift spots”. I highly recommend Epiphany Acupuncture and Balance Acupuncture in Charleston.

3. Red Light

   I have an Elios that I bought years ago and not sure it’s still available in the US but would also recommend this (also recommended by Dr. Deming). I try to do this twice a day. Huge fan!

4. Tuning Fork

   I use this fork often and swear by the results. It calms my nervous system while firming and lifting my skin and releasing the underlying fascia. I swear it has helped to lift my eyelids. Here’s the regenerative tallow cream I use with it and love.

5. Lymphatic Drainage Massage with Buccal Massage.

   There is so much tension held in our jaw. The buccal massage takes some getting used to but I always feel such a release! If you’re in Charleston, I love this place!

6. Trampoline/rebounder

   My mom bought this for my daughter and me for Christmas and it’s been a huge hit for both of us. I try to rebound for 5-10 minutes while the sun is coming up so I get the benefits of morning light and lymphatic drainage at the same time. When I skip this for a couple of days, I can see it on my skin!
