Perhaps God takes glory in their poverty? I can't believe that.

Psalm 35:27 says that God takes pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.

Those who pursued power received power, and God met their basic needs because they were doing His work. Any born-again, sincere believer can find himself in such a situation.

Here is the balance: God cannot prosper a job or activity that cannot be monetized. However, any attempt to monetize the Gospel itself is out of context.

The man with whom God started the covenant of blessing was a farmer. He had a lot of cattle. God encountered him, blessed him, and increased him.

Many of the prophets in the Bible who had no business remained poor or, at best, lived at an average level.

Paying tithes, giving offerings, sowing seeds, and practicing all manner of giving are important steps, but if that is all you know about financial prosperity, your financial life may be in danger, and you need to come out of that mindset quickly.

I must say this: You must love God, serve Him, and give faithfully.

But that is not enough. You must first be transformed in your mind.

Many people are poor, not because they cannot become wealthy, but because they do not truly desire wealth.

Some desire to be rich, but they are not doing what can generate more money.

Let me shock you: Solomon was the richest man in the Bible. Yes, God gave him wisdom and promised him wealth.

But do you know that there are many wise people whom God has also given access to opportunities and principles of wealth, yet they are still dying poor?

There are many—very many.

In fact, as believers in the New Testament, we are operating in dimensions of wisdom that are greater than Solomon's, yet many believers are still poor.

Solomon was the richest man in the Bible. Even though he was a king who collected taxes and received revenue from his kingdom, he was also involved in business—not just one, but several.

Let me show you from the Bible.

1 Kings 10:28–29 (RSV):

«[28] And Solomon's import of horses was from Egypt and Kue, and the king's traders received them from Kue at a price.

[29] A chariot could be imported from Egypt for six hundred shekels of silver, and a horse for a hundred and fifty; and so through the king's traders they were exported to all the kings of the Hittites and the kings of Syria.»

King Solomon was importing and exporting.

Now look at this:

1 Kings 9:26 (RSV):

«[26] King Solomon built a fleet of ships at Ezion-geber, which is near Eloth on the shore of the Red Sea, in the land of Edom.»

King Solomon built ships for transportation and trade. The secret to wealth is simple: Get God and keep building.

When it comes to finances, don't simply do what you love; do what works.

Don't always play it safe. Be willing to pursue legitimate opportunities that work, provided God is not stopping you and they align with His principles.

We need money to expand the Kingdom. May the Lord give you understanding.
