If you missed Fallout #5, see it here.

Specter receives a mission from Savage that may finally uncover answers about his forgotten past.

Public Storage - West Hollywood | April 18, 2015 1:30 P.M.

Von flies over the storage facility and lands beside a row of weathered garages.

The place appears ordinary enough.

Chain-link fencing. Security cameras.

Rows of storage units stretching beneath the afternoon sun.

A security guard approaches him and points toward a unit near the back.

“Unit 214.”

Von nods and heads that way.

The garage door rolls upward automatically as he approaches.

The unit is empty. Or so it seems.

The moment he steps inside, steel doors slide shut behind him.

The floor vibrates.

“Neat,” Von mutters.

The entire platform begins descending.

Ten feet. Twenty. Fifty. One hundred.

Finally, it stops.

The reinforced blast doors slide open.

Von steps through and immediately finds himself staring at organized madness.

A gigantic command center sprawls beneath the city.

Hundreds of operators sit behind glowing monitors.

Analysts run between stations.

Phones ring endlessly.

A giant screen displays a rotating globe covered in hundreds of blinking markers. New reports appear every few seconds before operators immediately begin sorting them.

“Unusual GK shipments entering Viperial City!”

“Pull up satellite coverage on those transport routes!”

“Cell phone footage from Japan just uploaded!”

“Possible superhuman activity confirmed!”

“Black Psalm sighting in Santa Barbara!”

“Get me another angle!”

The room buzzes with constant activity.

“What is this place?” Von asks.

“This place...”

Von turns.

Wilson Savage and Commander Lewis approach through the crowd.

“...is what’s keeping us in the know,” Savage says.

“In secret, we continue to run for the world.”

“Hey, Spec,” Lewis says.

Lewis reaches him first and shakes his hand.

Savage follows.

“You gonna tell me what you needed?” Von asks.

Savage motions toward a nearby operations table.

Several photographs and maps are spread across its surface.

“Black Psalm.”

Von immediately pays attention.

“We’ve possibly caught several known members on surveillance cameras over the last few weeks,” Savage explains. “Most are bullshit. Some aren’t.”

He points toward several locations highlighted on a city map.

“Safehouses. Supply points. Meeting locations.”

“You know they’re real?”

“No.”

“Then what makes them worth checking?”

Savage smirks.

“Because Bombshell has shown up near three of them.”

That gets Von’s attention.

“You found Eevaa?”

“Maybe.”

Savage slides a folder toward him.

Inside are photographs, timestamps, and surveillance reports.

“We need confirmation.”

“And you want me to do the legwork.”

“I want you to bring her in.”

Von folds his arms. “For what?”

Savage nods.

“For questioning. We need to know about Vengeance. And what he did with Thunder.”

Von stares down at the file. Silent.

Lewis notices his hesitation.

“You don’t have to fight her unless things go sideways.”

“I’m not worried about that. I...I just don’t know what I’m doing.”

“Hmm, true. It may be tough your first time around,” Savage admits.

“Then why should I do it?”

Savage studies him carefully.

Then he asks one simple question.

“Don’t you want to know who you were when you became Specter?”

Von’s expression tightens.

Savage continues.

“We still don’t have all the answers about that piece of your past. She does.”

The room suddenly feels quieter.

“Help me find Bombshell,” Savage says. “And maybe we both get what we’re looking for.”

After several moments, Von exhales.

“Fine.”

Savage smiles.

“Good.”

Lewis hands him a packet.

Eight addresses. Potential Psalm locations.

“Check every one of them,” Lewis says. “Take notes. Observe. Then come back and debrief us. But if she’s there, you have to bring her in.”

Another operative approaches carrying a black duffel bag.

Savage takes it and hands it over.

Von opens it.

Inside is a sleek black tactical suit.

Minimal armor. Lightweight. Professional.

“This was supposed to be the official Warriors uniform,” Savage says.

Von runs his hand across the material.

“Warriors, huh? That’s not even a thing anymore.”

Lewis laughs. “You’re not wrong.”

Savage tosses him a compact earpiece.

“Encrypted communications. Direct line to Lewis and me.”

Von pockets the comms gear and closes the bag.

“Anything else?”

Savage shakes his head.

“Find Bombshell.”

Von turns and starts toward the elevator.

The addresses. The suit. The comms.

A mission.

For the first time in months, he finally has a lead.

And maybe, if Savage is right—

Answers.
