Imagine a jigsaw. Complex, intricate, detailed: as meticulously designed as it was difficult to construct and assemble, with vast ripples of interconnected and interwoven pieces telling a story of patience, attention to detail and keen sightedness.

“The way to stop [the BNP] being ruined is to reconstitute it all over time. You’ve got a jigsaw, and somebody’s thrown the jigsaw on the ground, and all the pieces are higgledy-piggledy and pell-mell, and you’ve got to bring them back together again and reconstitute them and even turn them upright, so you can actually stitch them together again to make a coherent pattern or picture. That’s what faces us.” - Jonathan Bowden

Bowden’s jigsaw, then, was both prescient and foreboding. During the midst of the shambolic disintegration of the BNP under Nick Griffin, his speech was an attempt to both diagnose and remedy the situation. His words echo as a warning - sounding eerily familiar. What we face now, however, is far more complicated - the jigsaw was thrown on the ground and has begun to reconstitute itself into something beyond recognition. Rather than forming a new jigsaw, the pieces have slowly evolved: forming several new jigsaws - so different in their makeup that their pieces no longer resemble the same picture.

Unfortunately, this tendency for factionalism is an issue that has historically both plagued and now haunts us: in fact, it is only now that I understand why the BNP went from a national force to nothing but a whimper overnight. Having experienced similar catastrophic failure myself with the Homeland Party, that impulse to completely fuck it off (if you’ll pardon my French) is nigh on impossible to ignore.

What a palaver. What a rigmarole. What an unnecessary waste of time, money, effort and most importantly hope. To have such hope extinguished is to crush the soul of many a man, and only begs the question: why bother? Why bother indeed. What we face now almost forces us to throw this article out of the window, as Bowden was dealing with the fracturing of a single party. What we are currently experiencing is the culmination of many themes that have resulted in a fractured yet thriving Nationalist scene in British politics, even if it is something of an undercurrent.

So the early admission in this article is that we’re not putting Bowden’s Jigsaw back together again. Consider it a hook, consider it clickbait, consider it the unfortunate reality. The truth is that there perhaps will be a moment when a true fracturing occurs and all factions are united under common cause. But that will come in the next cycle. Bowden’s Jigsaw, then, may end up being a prophetic as well as historic speech after all, but for now, we can only deal with the present scenario.

Today Nationalists are faced with more options than ever before - with varying degrees of orthodoxy and compromise on offer. What faces us today is factionalism, so consider the rest of this piece as Kipper’s Buyers Guide to the British Right.

All’s Fair in Love and War

I want to briefly touch on the current antagonism between factions as an overarching theme before broaching the parties themselves. The cut-throat world of politics married with social media produces factionalism on steroids. People now wear their affiliations proudly on their profiles, using imagery adorning the badges of political entities. Current attitudes carry what can only be described as a distinctly tribal tone. This feels new.

Yes, factionalism isn’t new, but it is now being fought along clear lines and on so many fronts it’s dizzying to contemplate. Almost to the point that it’s easy to forget we still have to contend with other legacy parties - whether it’s the tories or liberals (>implying there’s any difference). Then you throw in the separatist factions in various corners of these isles and the scale of the struggle becomes menacing.

While they do lamentably punch well above their weight in every regard (and will continue to do so for longer than people care to admit - and for class reasons they aren’t ready to admit) the Conservative Party aren’t leading the race for ideas. They are yesterday’s men held up by finance and special interests; they are the quintessential establishment party after all - which is why I will be ignoring them as they are not (and never have been) worth your consideration as a Nationalist.

As this factionalism plays out daily and publicly thanks to the 24/7 nature of social media, we have in essence a soap opera on our hands. This article seeks to be a buyers guide, but the real juice is in the beef between the leading figures of the factions. To write an article detailing the plot of this soap opera would take a level of autism I’m not quite sure exists yet, as the ongoing feuds are years in the making, petty and scant on evidence at the best of times. Ingrained attitudes built around this ongoing drama shape the image of each party to outsiders. Thus they are all weighed down by baggage that is esoteric yet crucial in nature. To join a party isn’t to sign up to a stated list of beliefs - it’s to become part of a faction.

Naturally each faction assumes they’re right. It is that sincere belief that leads to the antagonism we constantly see. If this article seeks to address anything it’s to explain the motives of each party and perhaps unite everyone through a mutual understanding of cause rather than motive. For it is a person’s motives that seem to be most under inspection in the modern age.

We each may have our own motives, so in rationalising them we can set them aside under the premise we all still share the same cause. I’m not here to write about the drama: I’m here to detail what motivates each contingent. I’ll argue that they are all just and moral - they can equally exist while fighting for the same cause.

In doing this, then, perhaps I am putting Bowden’s jigsaw back together again after all. United, but in our own jigsaws, so to speak. For now what we can seek is a unity through separation. In my last article I made the point that our enemies flood all channels and all parties in order to cement their position. They become the default opinion across the spectrum - so with that in mind we can take heart in the fact that a multipronged effort can indeed work. In fact, not only can it work, but it’s a direct answer to their approach. Fight fire with fire, confuse the enemy, have various fronts, have various factions to mobilise and dominate the landscape with a false sense of diversity.

Quell the need for an explicitly Nationalist party by making all parties compete for our vote instead. Imagine Nationalism capturing the institutions in the same way the woke mob did. Stranger things have happened. To achieve that, though, we must smash the uniparty, and so our first faction carries the heaviest hammer for this mammoth task.

Reform UK vs Reform YooKay

Nationalists supporting Reform UK in 2026, to an outsider, can seem anything from confused and misled to just straight up retarded. If you thought recent comments from Lowe were beyond the pale then you should hear Farage’s track record on being the mastermind behind the destruction of the BNP.

This is an issue worth addressing, for clarity if nothing else. Farage often takes a victory lap for supposedly defeating the far right, but the reality is far more complicated - and Nationalists should know the truth better than anyone. To lazily take his words and agree and amplify them is to give Nick Griffin and those around him who tanked the BNP (and slowly siphoned off the funds, allegedly) a free pass. While it is undeniable that Farage hoovered up most of their vote it’s still true that they did a grand job of destroying themselves with or without him.

With all that being said, it’s still true that he claims this victory repeatedly - so we must ask why any Nationalist would associate with someone who seeks to destroy them. The answer isn’t hard for your author - because an admission here: this is probably my faction. Having used Farage as an online avatar for over a decade now, I can confidently say I know the ins and outs of why people support Reform - in fact I only just voted for them in May, when they took over my local council. For my entire life (and indeed since the creation of our local authority) we have only ever known Labour here: and I feel this incursion from Reform on all fronts (red & blue alike) is key to progressing forward.

/pol/ - Politically Incorrect

Support for Reform in Nationalist circles is continuity of what can best be described as the Brit/pol/ faction. The wheels were set in motion well over a decade ago and the support you see for Reform stems from this online contingent that offered a radically new and youthful wing to what was a sterile UKIP. Perhaps they completed the UKIP jigsaw which eventually saw Brexit through?

There is a slight barrier to entry here - this is an organic faction that exists as a continuity of the energy behind the glory days of UKIP, Brexit, Leave Means Leave, The Brexit Party and eventually Reform UK. Farage loyalists carrying the flame from something that started long ago with the clear intention of causing chaos within the cosy little world of British Politics. Due to the nature of this movement originating on 4chan what we see is less ideologically Nationalist and more anarchistic and Machiavellian - both cruel and vindictive having been born in the gutter of the internet.

What this creates is a faction that from the outside is easy to underestimate due to their trappings of being pro-Reform. This clever facade has not only baffled the left but now baffles the right. Speaking from the inside, I would stress that this is a long calculated move from a faction that’s tacitly all in on Reform. This is not to tie them to Reform, but rather to tie Reform to them. “I’m not locked in here with you. You’re locked in here with me.”

The legacy of this movement has left an imprint that can be seen everywhere in Reform if you have the eyes to see. Unfortunately Nationalists only have eyes for the armies of turban-adorned Reform shills and bad actors, and so their visceral disgust prevents them investigating Reform with any real enthusiasm…and I can’t blame them.

The phrase “you had to be there” is perhaps as true here as it could ever be. You’re not dealing with people easily swayed, for these are the long marchers you’ve been looking for. This is their real Achilles heel though, the real weakness and flaw that this mysterious contingent behind Reform harbours: and that is arrogance. An arrogance from once being the default position, but now jostling for place between the insurgent Restore and other fringe elements. So, when challenged on the weakness of Reform, they are reluctant to walk people through about fifteen years’ worth of lore. It is what it is.

Tacit support for Reform brushes up against the zeal of Restore supporters who (in stark contrast) are fully invested, resulting in bitter and derogatory exchanges that are, quite frankly, below us. The bottom line is people who were redpilled yesterday are trying to convince those who, in a roundabout way, are the progenitors of their own movement. New converts to Nationalism will have a very green, surface-level conception of Reform and cannot begin to process this relationship - resulting in what is essentially crossed wires.

The arrogance of the Reform contingent has not helped, and only feeds into the ignorance of recent converts. This becomes even more stressed when you consider new converts probably just jumped off the Reform bandwagon themselves, so they see it as completely retrograde to support Farage again. Speaking plainly, and to state the obvious: we’re all on the same team. Nationalists should see people supporting Reform and tip their fedora rather than sperg out. It’s that simple. Or it could be.

The Rupertaryan Lowemosexuals

^Inevitable?

Bowden famously said “We need a new start” and in Restore Britain we’ve been given that - with all the usual caveats, naturally. This wouldn’t be British Nationalism if there wasn’t a catch. The conceptual Monkey’s Paw poses a situation where you may get what you wish for but at a heavy, painful, and ironic cost. Much of the heavy lifting regarding this faction was carried out in my last article, but the top and bottom of it is this: yes, we do have a new party, but in being founded by an ex-Reform MP it feels like more of a splinter. Nationalists longing for a clean break and Bowden’s proposed new start can’t be blamed for feeling underwhelmed because of this.

Those within Restore would argue that they are functionally a Nationalist party, with key figures like Charlie Downes speaking explicitly against the Great Replacement and demographic change regularly. While Rupert Lowe may seem at odds with the prospect, he has surrounded himself with people parroting things we’ve been pushing for the last decade, with his feed resembling something of a reflection of our output.

There are two real strains of thought here: Restore are either crypto /ourguys/ or a containment op to ensure the thousand-year tory Reich remains on track. There’s legitimacy to both views - Lowe has made favourable remarks about “Kemi” that are enough to make this author scratch his head. They’ve somehow created a world where they genuinely display more vitriol for the tories inside Reform than the actual tories themselves. If we could destroy the tory party first before destroying ourselves that would be nice.

On Makerfield

^{What was it all for?}

Restore’s Nationalist contingent are far more diverse than the oldheads backing Reform. Within their ranks we find everyone from Reform refugees to zoomers redpilled by instagram reels. The Makerfield by-election demonstrated their chasm in political awareness, with veteran Steve Laws declaring early on that standing would be unwise - while all the newgens enthusiastically cheered an attempt to revel in Reform’s inability to win another by-election.

There was a simplistic idea that they could quite well win the bloody thing if they employed the Zerg (or should I say sperg) rush technique: an old gaming tactic where a player quickly creates many cheap, weak units and attacks right away. As such we saw Makerfield swamped with people from all over the country ready to serve Sultan Lowe.

Makerfield proved to be a memorable by-election for all the wrong reasons, least of all Andy Burnham’s cakewalk into Number Ten. The election helped paint a picture of the Restore contingent: drawing out its strengths and weaknesses. It would be easy to pick them apart with an overly critical lens, especially as pundits from inside and around the party were touting that they’d easily hit strong double figures and even posed a chance of winning the whole thing outright - in fact there was a litany of people placing bets on this possibility.

To me, this demonstrated just how green vast swathes of the party actually were; they still occupied a space in politics where they earnestly believed a party could be founded and then bulldoze its way into winning its first by-election. People genuinely thought that if Makerfield felt the might of Restore Britain then every Reform vote would fall and Rebecca Shepherd would sweep to victory.

You might think I’m ridiculing their party, and perhaps I am, but it was while writing this article that I came to the conclusion that this can be a perfectly good thing. For once we are seeing a new generation enter the fray on a purely patriotic basis, without being poisoned by irony or resentment for the buffoons that tacitly represent them.

When it comes to policy I’m not much of a “wonk” but my understanding is that there isn’t a vast difference between the interchangeably named parties. Zia Yusuf seems intent on matching Restore’s ambitions but the real differentiator is Restore don’t have a man called Mohammed pushing their party to the right. People can seethe over how self-defeating this line of thinking may be, but Restore are platforming Englishmen and speaking a language far more like ours in contrast to the lacklustre Reform.

The key difference is while Restore are courting our vote I would argue we’re not Reform’s audience - Farage is the boomer whisperer after all. This rare ability Farage has to win elections through having built a coalition in terms of both financial and grassroots support is not through coincidence or sheer luck. This is something Restore members take for granted when looking to match Reform - Farage has put in decades of legwork culminating in him being the vehicle himself, as people follow him from entity to entity. Lowe is a creation of Farage and people would be wise to remember that.

Without wanting to sound condescending, if Restore members do a better job of tempering expectations and building coalitions they will prove to be a force in years to come. Eagerness is not a bad trait, but they would be wise to know their limits to avoid tempting fate - placing such high expectations on your party is a recipe for disaster. Some balance here would do everyone the world of good, both inside and outside the party.

Their growth has been both encouraging and admirable - showcasing a clear desire for a post-Farage right - although the distance between Lowe and Farage leaves a lot to be desired for some. With that in mind, if Restore are post-Farage, then what of the rest? British Nationalism had never truly flirted with Farage until the denizens of 4chan took to making him the mascot of British Politics. British Nationalism proper, then, does still exist, as an entirely different faction from the dark & light blues of Restore & Reform respectively. So let’s turn over that rock and shine a light on what remains of “British Nationalism”.

The Old Guard

During the heights of the Homeland Party it felt like we had briefly resurrected the dead body of British Nationalism. Perhaps resurrecting a dead entity through creating a Frankenstein blend of jaded BNP survivors with the New Batch, so to speak, was a bad idea.

A clear schism between Chairman (and ex-BNP veteran) Kenny Smith and the New Batch in Steve Laws & Zoomer Historian resulted in the latter two jumping ship - and thus all momentum was lost. While the old guard may have had a keen understanding of political organising and system protocols they lacked the vision and ambition of the New Batch. What was envisioned as a synthesis succumbed to being a monster. Throughout this fiasco other parties soldiered on, so we’ll be looking at them since Homeland has been sent to the retirement home.

Chief among those parties would probably be the British Democrats, purely on the basis of heritage. Having been founded in 2013 as a splinter of the BNP, they perhaps make the best case for being considered the true continuity party for British Nationalists. There is no sleight of hand here: no “playing the game” or clever manoeuvring, they are explicit Nationalists founded by people disillusioned with their own party. Being to the right of the BNP is exactly where many find themselves in the current year; and yet the party has meandered for a decade, achieving little of note.

They act as something of a placeholder: [insert British Nationalism here]. Almost an empty vessel - a reminder - British Nationalism was here. We remember the once mighty National Front, we remember the British National Party, and we’re still here - a party that almost feels like a real-life expression of purgatory. What are they waiting for? What were they waiting for? And who? Nevertheless, on they plod, contesting the odd seat and holding the odd conference to remind us that there’s more to British Nationalism than shitposting on the internet.

The New Batch

In the wake of the Homeland disaster the British Democrats were one of several life rafts on offer; receiving a positive injection of energy that recently culminated in ex-Homelander (and your quintessential member of the New Batch) Kai Stephens’ by-election campaign in Clacton against Farage.

Clacton maybe demonstrated the beginnings of what could possibly transpire under our new ethos of unity through separation. From what this author understands, patriots from Restore Britain were seen campaigning for Kai and the British Democrats. This mutual understanding is easier when there’s such a power imbalance - everyone was free to enjoy the spectacle without the bitter animosity displayed in Makerfield.

Personally, I could endorse Kai in good faith, knowing that he genuinely was to the right of Reform and Farage - whereas the same could not be said of the Restore candidate for Makerfield. Without wanting to dwell on that whole charade too much, Restore’s candidate was quite frankly an insult to Nationalists, and made it hard to make the case for choosing them over Reform. The same could not be said about the British Democrats who look and act like a Nationalist party…because they are one. Novel idea, but will it take off?

On paper the British Democrats offer what people are looking for, and truth be told they are my flavour of Nationalism, if a little outdated. Homeland offered a more forward-thinking, self-assured implicit Nationalist branding that felt new, to the point that it almost feels like a regression to go back to the somewhat trite red white and blue of parties old.

While they may come with those aesthetic drawbacks and the baggage of being the continuity party, they do once again benefit from that by being both tightknit and well versed in British electoral politics from the grassroots level up. They are what I would term a smart outfit just begging for more members and attention, especially from young Nationalists keen on entering politics without the compromise of the other parties.

This is the pitfall of a large entity like Restore swooping in to absorb so much Nationalist sentiment - while they are the sensible option, it’s painful to know just how much potential a genuine vehicle like the British Democrats could have. We saw a glimpse of it with Homeland - and we’re possibly seeing it fully realised with Restore - but the issue is that British Nationalism proper is withering while the mainstream absorbs our best and brightest. Including much of the New Batch.

Truthfully for a multipronged approach to work we need to see this party invigorated, and ironically, this can swing back to being one of the positives of Lowe, Restore and the networks currently being built. There is always the possibility that eventually we’ll see the direction of travel begin to change: as things stand people move from Reform to Restore, but given enough time we could possibly see people disillusioned with Lowe jumping ship to purist options like the British Democrats.

This can work on the basis of short-term consolidation of what has become a more visible brand since Kai declared his intent to contest the Clacton by-election. Once anchored in the conversation they can quietly build, waiting in the wings for people that will eventually fall off the mainstream approach: the de facto home for British Nationalism, as was their intent from the start.

Disappointing returns at the ballot box aside, this campaign was one of visibility and notoriety, and the British Democrats probably got their money’s worth considering it’s the most relevant I’ve ever known them to be. It’s easy to ridicule their meagre vote share, but these campaigns should seek to make a statement when they’re 100% unwinnable. On that basis, you are free to make your run for office a real declaration of intent - and in running Kai the BDP made a commitment to enfranchising young Nationalists who haven’t held any ideological punches.

Stephens has raised his profile as a young Nationalist and was reached for comment from as far afield as Australia - which while seemingly insignificant provides a nice benchmark and soft re-launch of the party as one looking to cause a bit of a stir, as their stunt at Clacton Pier seems to suggest. This might even signal that the New Batch really are finally at the wheel. Intent has been signalled, a flag has been planted, and Kai’s staunch record helps rebuff the usual sceptics who cry civnat and zionist at every opportunity.

British Nationalism, then, burns at a flicker still. This anomaly of a by-election was never going to provide dividends at the ballot box: that is a long slog that Nationalists correctly diagnosed and treated decades ago. Perhaps this longing for a continuity of the BNP comes from their modest yet historic success at making gains at all levels from Community & Parish Council upwards - something Homeland had begun to successfully emulate. The British Democrats offer a competent vehicle ripe for a fresh wave of refugees, but in having their own weaknesses the free marketplace of ideas has afforded us another option or two.

The Notorious NRP

“We need a new start.” I find Bowden’s words once again echoing around my mind, tormenting me, mocking me, prodding me. Homeland was that new start. Nationalism is an organic force that reflects our people, it has no need for flags or faith because it holds something more concrete and material. Our cause is eternal in equal measure through heritage and birthright.

Britain has historically led on so many frontiers it’s enough to make a grown man weep. We are capable - and are still capable - of competing with the best. As Bowden said: “This small island and the nationality within it, England, produced material at that time which is comparable to the Greeks, and is acknowledged by the whole world to be comparable to the Greeks.”

With that in mind, the National Rebirth Party exists as something of an open-source platform, a vehicle that doesn’t just tolerate but welcomes the true fringe elements of the right. This is the far right they warned you about. While it’s easy to get caught up in operational disagreements, it’s certainly true that they espouse the exact values that people claim to hold.

Dwelling on the melodrama and weekly feuds this organisation seems to find itself in is exhausting. For such a small entity they seem to clearly hit a nerve - or rather they are keen on hitting nerves - such is the luxury afforded to you by supporting what is genuinely the real deal. Even if they do often face rightful ridicule for their somewhat questionable antics.

All too often the butt of a joke, this small clan of political radicals represent something that has been oddly missing from the scene. Third position politics has had a renaissance in our era, with Sir Oswald Mosley offering an easy path to domestic Fascist & National Socialist intrigue. His unneeded vilification has only served to boost his popularity in the information age - and if the British Democrats are carrying the flame of British Nationalism as per the BNP, then Rebirth are guarding Mosley’s sacred flame.

^{Seeds of a subculture?}

“Radical Communists contest elections, so why shouldn’t we?” is a striking argument. NRP sentiment is clear: all other solutions are controlled opposition, containment and pure slavery in some regards. They instead seek to fully enfranchise the people who claim to guard the sacred flame.

Supporting the NRP is very reminiscent of supporting your local football club when you live in the arse end of nowhere. Yeah, they’re shite, but they’re yours. A great man once said “The most precious possession you have in this world is your own people.” - and if you subscribe to this ideal then the NRP and The Twenty Demands of the National Agenda might be for you.

The open, accessible nature of the party produces something that, outside of the drama, is a sound vehicle for a segment long missing from British politics. Pursuing these ideas can be a grey area legally, so in opting for a fully registered political party you are choosing just about the most legitimate route possible.

“We demand that only people of British heritage or lineage shall be inherently entitled by birth to be British citizens” is the first demand of the National Agenda, with the other nineteen being rather illuminating, to say the least. Speaking in an abstract sense, the NRP gives form to what half of Homeland wanted; the other half cowed by the prospect of fiscal and electoral doom.

The NRP seeks to cut no corners and will always offer full-fat coke as opposed to the sugar-free opposition. A party for the revolutionary spirit, both artistically and politically, is refreshing and a welcome change to the aforementioned stifling red white and blue. Correctly managed the NRP poses to potentially be an interesting subcultural offering long in the making.

The National Rebirth Party are perhaps something of a non-entity, but they bear mentioning through their sheer resilience and endurance, having quietly plugged away during and after the rise & fall of Homeland. While they are small in number, their focus on real-life activism has made them notorious for their stalls, gazebos and unironed flags. There is a clear attempt being made even if they don’t quite hit the mark yet. It’s heartening to see our position elevated beyond a historical artefact, and given time to mature they may just sway enough people to drop the pretences and advocate for the most radical position possible.

There is a market and appetite for this niche approach, and funnelling people through a legal route is key to ensure our compatriots don’t fall foul of the same usual shenanigans from MI5. The genuine far-right will always be a small element of the Nationalist scene but they are our most pure and organic expression - and if we don’t stand up for them nobody else will. To hell with that, we’re all England aren’t we?

On eating oneself

“The left are eating themselves again!” chuckles the rightoid, all the while Nationalists remain ostracised - even by those who claim to be our comrades. The opposite is in fact true, for what the left lacks in brains it makes up for in solidarity and commitment to cause.

Conservatives, baffled by this genuine zeal and spirit, can only assume left wing activists are on some sort of payroll. Such is their own lack of dedication to cause, they can’t conceive of the zealotry the leftist activist has, and so they are forced to rationalise it away as being for monetary gain. God forbid people actually care about something.

While we all have different motives we ultimately all serve the same cause: our people. It’s that simple. Our motives lead us to differing factions, each with their own positives and negatives, but each a right fit for certain individuals. You can’t fit a square peg in a round hole, which is why a working class chap like me will never be a tory. Even if I voted for them, even if I joined them, I still wouldn’t be a tory. Different strokes for different folks; unity through separation.

Mosley spoke of this fair-weather attitude in the little men of old parties; even in his age he observed and eloquently described the pitfalls of soap opera politics - where every day offers up new opportunities to celebrate forgettable wins and denounce inevitable losses - if only to signal, if nothing else.

Political kayfabe, if you will. Kayfabe is, to borrow a term from professional wrestling, “the practice of presenting staged events, scripted storylines, and fake rivalries as if they were completely real.” We know it’s all theatre, they know it’s all theatre, and yet we all still play along with the grim spectacle. Grim.

Bowden famously said, “There are more of us than ever before.” Words that have become prophetic and ironic, in the sense that his own following has become cult-like to a level he deserved to enjoy while he was still with us. So it’s with that thought I move back to his proverbial jigsaw. We now have competing jigsaws, and each offers a different fit for people on the Nationalist spectrum, to coin a phrase.

We owe it to Bowden to forge our own paths, plant our own flags, and let the best man win - and always remember that unity through separation is perhaps a uniquely British way of dealing with things.

Finally, to tie things up, when considering your comrades in their various jigsaws, please remember to keep his words in mind: “always support strength and identity and freedom of speech and England and Britain forever!”

In February this year Restore Britain was transformed from a pressure group into a political party, in what had begun to feel like an inevitability. Rupert Lowe had been growing from strength to strength since his departure from Reform UK: for many it felt like a new dawn in British politics - and who’s to say they’re wrong? Certainly not this author. Yes, despite all my prior gripes I am here today to present the argument for Restore Britain from a capital-N Nationalist perspective. Many in ‘the movement’ remain bewildered at those who are still clinging on despite Lowe’s clear contempt for political Nationalism - and who can blame them? Their frustration is not just warranted but one I share myself, so come with me as I attempt to walk you (and indeed myself) through the motives & rationale behind the Nationalist contingent in Restore, as we try to understand this somewhat unlikely alliance.

What is political Nationalism? I feel it should be distinct from Nationalism itself, as across the country Nationalist sentiment is high and our ideas are winning. Protests at hotels are myriad to the point of them feeling impossible to keep up with - and these protests reflect a sort of pure, instinctual Nationalism that knows no affiliation or persuasion. Rupert Lowe actually embodies this sort of Nationalism. Reform UK also embody this Nationalism. But they both aren’t politically Nationalist. They will embody Nationalist sentiment while explicitly condemning and rebuking political Nationalism, which can perhaps best be described as ‘Ethnonationalism’ contemporarily. Loathe as I am to use the term (read: slur) it has become the shorthand for our thing, so I will be using it going forward.

As things stand very few people are willing to publicly affiliate with Ethnonationalism - least of all the electorate - not yet, anyway. This is the unfortunate truth: the bitter pill one must swallow before considering their role within electoral politics in the current year - and is perhaps our first clue when investigating why blood and soil Nationalists are throwing their lot in with a man who has repeatedly condemned them. Perhaps there is a bridge to be built between this ambiguous Nationalist sentiment and Ethnonationalism proper?

Ethnonationalism (or whatever embers of it that still remain to this day) barely registers on a national level. Putting Restore & Reform aside, political Nationalism is essentially vacant from the national discourse - no more than a spectre, a spook - a pantomime villain for all to blame when multiculturalism comes awry, as it often does. Riots are regularly blamed on the EDL, a group that has been defunct and irrelevant for over a decade now. They weren’t even racial or political! This is a result of Nationalists vacating the field since the demise of the BNP - and while attempts have been made (and will continue to be made) all endeavours are still in their infancy and missing from the national discourse. This is why Restore are considered a viable vehicle: they are ripe for co-opting, prime for infiltration and subversion - but most crucially they offer a leg up and quick path to a national foothold from the get-go.

People often deride Reform as civic-nationalists, but the truth is they would never self describe as such. They are a right wing populist party courting the vote of both red and blue alike. This is where Lowe & Restore are able to pivot, offering what is an explicitly civic Nationalist party with Ethnonationalist tendencies. As things stand they are not to be considered strictly Nationalist: there is no straight line from them to the BNP, there is no legacy or continuity, and with Lowe at the helm they still feel like a distilled, hardline Reform (or dare I say it Conservative) party. Which isn’t a slight, that’s just the nature of having a leader with Lowe’s track record: he repeatedly and explicitly condemns Ethnonationalism - there is no ambiguity about it.

I find myself constantly frustrated by the raison d’être of the party: the saga between Lowe & Reform/Farage/Yusuf has cast a shadow over Restore, making them feel like a Lowe vanity project at times. This personal feud with Farage, and the prominence of that resentment within the party, does a disservice to the idea of having a serious message about saving our nation. Perhaps that’s my biases speaking, but I can’t see many people on the doorstep caring about a beef between two boomers. As Lowe would say, “I don’t care”.

So, with all this in mind, again, one wonders why some of the staunchest British Nationalists about are aligning themselves with Lowe. Is it his Thatcherite tendencies? His sons halal wedding to a mena baddie? Perhaps it’s his constant condemning of them? Jokes aside, to me, it’s fairly obvious. Nationalists have been welcomed to the point that a good comrade of mine was reinstated after being briefly expelled for his explicitly Ethnonationalist past. Furthermore, I have many other ex-Homeland comrades in the party - including a chap who has become one of Restores most prominent figures. This cannot be overlooked by critics of the party, it deserves respect, or at least gets it from me, anyway. So with that in mind, if you’re looking for a mainstream path this is one that clearly welcomes you rather than closing the door as Reform (quite rightly) would.

Sargon Was Right

This is where things get complicated. When Carl Benjamin made his famous declaration and said “ethnats” weren’t the base of Restore, he was absolutely right. I don’t envy his position - because despite the fact that yes, he could have worded things better, and yes it did come off as rather obnoxious, he wasn’t wrong. He wasn’t wrong. Sargon was right. Sargon was right. Sargon was right. Say it to yourself, say it out loud, repeat it, believe it. When you’re in a contingent that regularly refers to their own party as a ‘stepping stone’ and ‘vehicle’ you better believe someone like Carl will see you as expendable. This is because Restore is the logical end point for him: like a good fitting pair of jeans or the porridge that was just right for Goldilocks, Restore, under Lowe, is the party of the Carl Benjamins of the world. He doesn’t need to disavow Lowe because he agrees with his stance. Some are calling it ‘The Party of The Lotus Eaters’ - Nationalists need to make peace with this simple truth.

This clear schism will not go away, and can only be spectated with interest. While Nationalists are probably only a small faction within the party they punch well above their weight in all spheres whether online or on the pavement. They are an asset, especially inside a party that’s so green that it hired corrupt ex-tory MP and staunch zionist Scott Benton to help run their (quite frankly baffling) Makerfield campaign. All these things can perhaps be forgiven as teething problems for now, but a few years down the line we’ll see how they eventually play out.

With all that being said, Carl has been happy to not just engage with but platform Nationalists as well - so while some may argue that he went too far with his comments he most certainly isn’t the enemy people want him to be. Rather the contrary I would argue: he welcomes ideological opponents and earnestly extols the big tent ideal. If you’re looking for an enemy I’m sorry to say he is not that guy. Again, perhaps this is my bias showing as a Gamergate veteran, because no amount of old Sargon tweets or videos will sway me; for I was there when they were made. His olive branch is held in good faith to Nationalists, but they must acknowledge the reality of their place - in fact they regularly do in their admission of using Restore as a vehicle.

Fell For Nothing Award

Despite enjoying a generous honeymoon period amongst Nationalists (whoooo remembers ‘Remigration Rupert’?) Lowe eventually managed to undo his own manufactured image and goodwill by being himself in a few interviews (>he fell for the meme of just being yourself). This was within months of a strong launch campaign married with a social media propaganda blitz that saw people projecting their every hope and dream onto the poor man. The result of this was to paint a picture of Rupert Lowe that was comically detached from the man himself - in many ways he was painted as the anti-Farage - but for all the wrong reasons.

I’ve always felt the real issue between Farage & Lowe was personal rather than ideological: and for that reason they’re both usually guilty of the same sins. But people took this anti-Farageism as a sign that Lowe was a blood and soil Ethnonationalist likely harbouring admiration for certain verboten ideas and ideologies rather than just a bitter feud over a very messy breakup.

Prominent Nationalist supporters of Restore like Steve Laws & Zoomer Historian have always been cognisant of Lowe’s politics. Their plan has always hinged on promoting our ideas and furthering our goals, while allowing Restore to do the heavy lifting as a brick and mortar party that can act as a cultural touchstone and rallying point for like-minded people to organise. It’s understood that while they’re not explicitly our guys they are following a script that’s not too far off what people desire, and that’s about as close enough as you can wish for in a pragmatic, realpolitik sense. Compromise is needed to some degree, this is the unfortunate nature of politics. So with that in mind, despite the fact Steve & Zoomer are often accused of having ‘fell for it again’ (whoooo remembers Homeland?) the truth is that they fell for nothing and people should trust the fact that their plan has been to use Restore as a vehicle from the get-go. To use recent clips as some kind of ‘gotcha’ is to miss the point entirely.

The unfortunate truth about Lowe is this: given a camera and microphone (and no script or aide) the man is prone to saying exactly the opposite of what people have been led to believe he thinks. His X (formerly Twitter) account is perhaps the guiltiest of all in creating this facade. His opinions should be no surprise given that he was a Brexit Party MEP & then Reform MP - he essentially still is - but his social media image took on such a life of its own that in an ouroboros style fashion he has indeed eaten himself. Lowe’s own hype got the better of him and yes, unfortunately, some people do deserve a ‘fell for it again award’. Many of them would go on to proudly display these awards each time a blunder was made by Lowe in new viral clip, with old Rupert providing quotes that would have critics of him rubbing their hands while Nationalists were holding their heads in their hands. Those who had ‘fell for it again’ felt truly betrayed.

The Wolf in the Coal Mine

This is where I want to try and tie things back together. The cautionary tale of the canary, or rather the Wolf, in the coal mine. And believe me, the coal was reaching record levels. There is a very cruel irony to the end of the often viral X account @WorldByWolf. Often Shared by Elon Musk, he was the type of FYP account every bog-standard rightist would be subject to. He publicly transitioned from a milquetoast zionist right-winger into a staunch ‘noticer’ ready to call out all hebraic interference and unafraid of challenging political dogmas. He was trained to do this by observing and surviving the scathing critique of Reform displayed by online Ethnonationalists - slowly picking up and aping the modus operandi of the people who had essentially browbeaten and hectored him for years.

The problem is this: he didn’t get the memo. He thought he was doing something novel by digging into Lowe’s past and critiquing some of the strange appointments at the top of Restore. His only crime was to speak too soon, and as a result he received a browbeating so severe that he tucked his tail between his legs and deactivated what one can only assume was a lucrative account given the scale of his reach and numbers it was capable of achieving. Some would argue he was bullied off the platform, and I’d tend to agree. It wasn’t a nice sight, and in retrospect perhaps people can sympathise with what he was trying to do rather than curiously accusing him of being a shill for various parties.

Wolf committed the crime of taking Ethnonationalists at their word, so when he saw them aligning themselves with Lowe he simply couldn’t walk back his new-found ability to ‘notice’. There is a cautionary tale here for Nationalists who now try to sell pragmatism, for in essence they have made their own bed by holding a mainstream party like Reform to such a high standard. Tying yourself to Lowe opens you up to that same critique, and now the shoe is on the other foot people are realising just how fanciful and self-indulgent some of these critiques are for a party vying for the levers of power.

Purity vs Compromise

Smaller parties exist for a reason: because some people cannot abide compromise. Whether through sheer revolutionary will or just pure stubbornness there will always remain elements looking for a cause that does what it says on the tin. Only under the banner of said parties can you really advocate for your principles without constant accusations of ulterior motives. This path, however, is unquestionably the hardest. To call a spade a spade, what is being attempted here is unashamed entryism by Nationalists in Restore. The viability of this is complex - but this article isn’t about the merits of entryism, rather the motives - and in doing so Nationalists are making a clear gambit. There is an implicit acknowledgement that they are using Restore, and as a faction they would probably be able to mobilise to another host should things go pear-shaped.

If the short-lived Homeland Party taught me anything it’s that lifelong connections and networks are now being formed regardless of party affiliation: people are able to rally under a somewhat moderate banner while promoting a policy of deporting millions, experience is being gained and the highly gatekept world of British electoral politics is finally being breached by many for the first time, creating a new generation of people capable of aiding whatever the vehicle of the day will be. People are reinvigorated and motivated, branch turnouts look healthy and many people have mobilised in Makerfield and elsewhere: there is an undeniable energy and demand that is being tapped into. Nationalists would be wise to get ahead of and involved in this, both to steer the ship and to further propagandise those nearing our position.

Some of our fiercest enemies have demonstrated that it’s unwise to tie yourself to one movement and that it’s prudent to flood all channels in order to make sure your position is the default. Parties don’t come along often, and regardless of their shelf life they will leave an impact to some degree. Time will only tell for now in regard to Restore, but I wouldn’t write them off given their potential to be very well funded. I would argue that if enough people with the right ideas are in prominent positions then that money will be used much more wisely than without.

My personal preference is to see a Reform win in the next election. Because the reality is simple, they are (or will be) the only option available in terms of pushing the needle. I crave a disruption to the duopoly and Restore will not provide it in such a small window of time. On the other hand, Reform will not provide a home for outspoken Nationalists while Restore will. These are the options available for individuals to weigh up themselves. Small parties are also worthy of your time, so, if you do feel sufficiently insulted by Lowe I would suggest looking to pastures new. Perhaps an article for another day? For now Nationalists have a new home - but when you’re at odds with your own leader it’s going to be an uphill struggle. I hope they’re ready for it.
