Seriously. Beyond job boards and annual reviews and LinkedIn profiles - what are we here for?

It’s trite but true. Upon receiving a devastating terminal diagnosis, no one has ever said, “I wish I had worked more.”

We start thinking about who we want to spend more time with and what we want to do when we have that time together.

I recognize that modern, Western society has been created to do it’s best to separate individuals and to have us point our fingers - either at the co-worker who just isn’t holding his own, or at the competitor who certainly must be doing something illegal to be thriving in this economy.

Think about your life so far.

My guess is you were compared to others in your age group, your class, your neighborhood and even your family.

To give grace I’m going to presume that this was done to ‘help’ us, and prepare us for the world that we were going to face.

More than any one thing on your hand, your heart line tells me how you communicate and how you wish others would communicate with you.

Meaning - it’s indicative of how you want to share your stories and how you listen to others telling their stories.

So often we forget that communication must be a two way interaction to be effective.

Humans like to congregate with other humans who make them feel comfortable. Having our tastes (in clothing, books, music or movies) questioned causes discomfort. The tendency is to think that candidate who loves the same obscure books as you is going to be a great fit for your team.

I live in a tourist town. Hospitality, outlets, amusement parks, and restaurants are primary employers.

It’s also a college town.

I love reading hands. Since the early 2000s I’ve been studying the art and science of hand analysis.

I’ve railed against people promising predictions from palms. I’ve dismantled more than a few misconceptions about lines on your palms and I’ve worked hard to engender self-awareness and agency in any and all who have trusted me with their hands over the years.
