Incumbent Suzan DelBene holds a commanding position in Washington’s 1st Congressional District heading into the November 3 general election. The district’s Democratic lean, reflected in its Partisan Voter Index and consistent election results, combined with DelBene’s long tenure since 2012 and strong primary performance where she captured over 54 percent, underpin trader consensus. Mary Silva, the Republican nominee who advanced with roughly 27 percent in the August 4 top-two primary, faces structural disadvantages including limited name recognition and fundraising. All major forecasters rate the seat Solid or Safe Democratic. Late developments such as a major scandal, significant health event, or unexpected national political shift could theoretically alter the outcome, though historical patterns and current conditions make such shifts improbable.
