DeVonta Smith enters the 2026 season as Philadelphia’s clear No. 1 wide receiver following A.J. Brown’s June trade to New England, a shift expected to drive a significant increase in targets from his 113 in 2025. The 27-year-old posted 77 receptions for 1,008 yards and four touchdowns across 17 games last year while maintaining elite efficiency at roughly 9.1 yards per target. Analysts project 1,100–1,300 receiving yards if he secures a larger share in the new Sean Mannion offense, which features Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, Dallas Goedert, rookie Makai Lemon, and additions like Dontayvion Wicks. Smith fully recovered from an early August hamstring issue and is healthy heading into Week 1, though the run-heavy scheme and competition for targets could moderate his ceiling. Historical splits when Brown missed time and Smith’s route-running strength support expectations of elevated volume and yardage.
