This market will resolve according to the person who is appointed as the next permanent manager of the Philadelphia Phillies. If no permanent manager is appointed by January 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other." Appointments of 'interim,' 'caretaker,' or other non-permanent managers will not impact this market's resolution. An announcement of a new permanent manager's appointment before this market's close date will immediately resolve this market to the corresponding option, regardless of when the announced appointment goes into effect. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the Philadelphia Phillies; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used. The Philadelphia Phillies’ managerial search for 2027 stems from Rob Thomson’s April 2026 dismissal after a 9-19 start, with bench coach Don Mattingly installed as interim skipper. Mattingly has overseen a dramatic turnaround, including an extended winning streak in series play, yet the market prices Alex Cora highest at 25.7 percent due to his prior relationship with president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski and availability after Boston’s decision. Mattingly sits at 16.0 percent, reflecting his in-house momentum and expressed interest in staying, though a deep playoff run appears necessary to remove the interim tag. Bruce Bochy (8.9 percent) and other experienced names bring championship pedigrees, while internal candidates and less-proven options fill out a fragmented field shaped by the club’s need for proven leadership amid ongoing contention.
