Nigeria enters AFCON 2027 Group L qualifying as the clear favorite to top the standings, reflecting traders’ assessment of the Super Eagles’ superior squad depth, recent continental form, and head-to-head record against Madagascar, Tanzania, and Guinea-Bissau. The group draw in May 2026 placed Nigeria alongside three lower-ranked sides, with matches set to begin in the September 2026 window. Tanzania’s automatic qualification as co-host leaves only one additional berth available, concentrating market focus on Nigeria’s ability to secure first place through home-and-away results starting with the opener versus Madagascar. The other three teams remain long shots given limited recent success at this level and thinner resources.
