A.J. Brown enters the 2026 season as the New England Patriots’ clear No. 1 wide receiver after a June trade from the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for a 2028 first-round pick and a 2027 fifth-rounder. In 2025 with the Eagles he posted 78 receptions on 121 targets for 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns in 15 games. Now paired with quarterback Drake Maye in an offense expected to feature higher passing volume, analysts project Brown for 130-plus targets and roughly 85–92 catches, positioning him for a potential league-leading or near-leading receptions total. He has commanded at least 100 targets in five of his seven NFL seasons and enters camp as the focal point of the passing attack. Minor camp issues, including a dislocated thumb and managed knee maintenance, have not limited his participation, and the team has expressed confidence in his availability for a full 17-game slate.
