Brian Thomas Jr. enters the 2026 NFL season as the Jacksonville Jaguars' primary vertical threat at wide receiver following a disappointing 2025 campaign in which he posted just two receiving touchdowns across 14 games amid injuries and reduced efficiency. The third-year LSU product rebounded strongly in the offseason, emphasizing hand strength, route expansion, and chemistry with quarterback Trevor Lawrence under new head coach Liam Coen, who plans to deploy him as the X receiver on deep routes. A minor shoulder issue in late August resolved quickly, with Thomas cleared as a full participant ahead of the Week 1 matchup against the Cleveland Browns. However, a crowded receiving room featuring Jakobi Meyers, Parker Washington, and Travis Hunter introduces target competition that could cap his red-zone opportunities and overall touchdown total despite his proven big-play ability.
