Drake Maye enters the 2026 NFL season coming off a breakout 2025 campaign in which he threw for 4,394 yards and 31 touchdowns while leading the Patriots to the Super Bowl as the league’s completion-percentage leader. Additions like A.J. Brown and Romeo Doubs were expected to sustain or boost volume in Josh McDaniels’ scheme under Mike Vrabel, though Brown’s Week 1 ankle injury creates immediate uncertainty in the receiving corps. The tougher schedule and Maye’s three fourth-quarter interceptions in the season-opening loss to Seattle highlight regression risks tied to decision-making and red-zone efficiency. His dual-threat ability adds rushing production but does not directly affect the passing-touchdown total that defines this market. Traders weigh his proven efficiency and supporting-cast upgrades against sustainability concerns after the 2025 peak.
