Cilliers Brink, the Democratic Alliance’s mayoral candidate and former Tshwane mayor, leads the market at 66.5% amid polling that places the DA at or near 43% support ahead of the November 4, 2026 municipal elections. Traders appear to factor in the party’s recent court victories over the current ANC-EFF-ActionSA coalition, its aggressive campaign on service delivery failures such as water infrastructure, and Brink’s public push for an outright majority or favorable coalition. Incumbent Nasiphi Moya of ActionSA trails at 14%, while ANC shortlisted contenders including Chana Pilane-Majake remain lower, reflecting the coalition’s governance record and fragmented opposition. Post-election council negotiations will determine the final outcome, with smaller parties potentially holding swing influence.
