Israeli operations in southern Lebanon since the March 2026 escalation with Hezbollah have focused on establishing and gradually expanding a security zone along the border, with forces crossing the self-declared yellow line into villages such as Al Mansouri in the Tyre district through September. A U.S.-brokered ceasefire announced in June has held unevenly amid repeated Israeli strikes on Hezbollah targets, including in and near Tyre, alongside evacuation orders for parts of the city. Israeli officials have described recent gains, such as control of the Ali al-Taher ridge, as completing the security zone without signaling intent to advance deeper into urban centers like Tyre. Lebanese army access remains restricted in contested areas, while diplomatic efforts involving the U.S., Iran, and regional mediators continue to address withdrawal timelines and Hezbollah disarmament. Trader assessments of entry by a given date hinge on whether Hezbollah attacks prompt further Israeli ground maneuvers or if de-escalation stabilizes the existing lines.
