Jaxon Smith-Njigba enters the 2026 regular season as Seattle’s clear alpha wide receiver following his 2025 breakout of 119 receptions, 1,793 yards, and 10 touchdowns that earned him Offensive Player of the Year honors and helped the Seahawks win Super Bowl LX. The 24-year-old has already recorded one receiving touchdown through Week 1 on eight catches for 122 yards, maintaining a league-high target share despite a new offensive coordinator and the departure of Kenneth Walker III. Starting quarterback Sam Darnold suffered a hip injury in the opener, elevating Drew Lock for at least Week 2 and potentially altering red-zone efficiency or passing volume. Supporting options including Cooper Kupp, Rashid Shaheed, and tight end AJ Barner may dilute opportunities, yet Smith-Njigba’s perimeter dominance and proven ability to create after the catch position him for another strong touchdown total if the Seahawks sustain a pass-heavy approach.
