This market will resolve according to the winner of the 2026 midterm Texas U.S. Senate election, inclusive of any run-offs. A candidate shall be considered to represent a party in the event that he or she is the nominee of the party in question. Candidates other than the Democratic or Republican nominee (e.g., Greens, Libertarian, independent) may be added at a later date. Candidates who run as independents will not be encompassed by the “Democrat” or “Republican” options regardless of any affiliation they may have with the party. The resolution source for this market is the Associated Press, Fox News, and NBC. This market will resolve once all three sources call the race for the same candidate. If all three sources haven’t called the race in this state for the same candidate, this market will resolve based on the official certification.**Recent polling shows the Texas Senate race between Democratic state Rep. James Talarico and Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton in a statistical dead heat or with Talarico holding narrow leads among likely voters, reflecting a competitive contest less than seven weeks before the November 3 general election.** Paxton secured the GOP nomination by defeating incumbent Sen. John Cornyn in the May runoff with Trump’s endorsement, consolidating Republican support but carrying significant legal and ethical baggage that has drawn heavy outside opposition spending. Talarico has outraised Paxton substantially, appealed to independents, women, and Hispanic voters, and positioned himself on kitchen-table issues such as energy costs. Forecasters rate the seat a toss-up or lean Republican, with trader consensus pricing in the race’s tightness amid strong Democratic turnout potential in a state that has not elected a Democratic senator since 1988.
