Derek Tran, the Democratic incumbent, holds a commanding position in California's 45th congressional district ahead of the November 3 general election. He secured 53.8% in the June 2 top-two primary, far ahead of Republican Chuong Vo's 15.3% in a crowded GOP field. Post-redistricting under Proposition 50, the Orange County district carries a stronger Democratic lean, building on Tran's narrow 2024 victory. Tran has maintained a substantial fundraising edge, with nearly $5 million raised compared to Vo's roughly $500,000. Forecasters rate the contest Lean or Likely Democratic, reflecting the combined impact of incumbency, resource advantages, and district composition on trader assessments of the outcome.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
