Recent polling from sources like Pew and Morning Consult shows Republican candidates drawing roughly 8-15% support among Black registered voters in 2026 midterm generic ballot tests, reflecting erosion from 2024 gains amid declining presidential approval ratings in the low teens. Economic concerns, including inflation and unemployment trends, along with policy moves on DEI and redistricting, have contributed to softer sentiment in this demographic compared to earlier post-election highs. The tight clustering around 8-13% in trader pricing reflects uncertainty over whether modest shifts in party identification and turnout among younger Black voters will hold through November or revert toward historical Democratic margins exceeding 80%. Scheduled fall debates and economic data releases could influence final positioning.
