Justin Jefferson enters the 2026 season coming off a career-low 84 receptions and 1,048 yards in 2025, hampered by inconsistent quarterback play from J.J. McCarthy and others. The Vikings' decision to start Kyler Murray provides the clearest catalyst for improved volume, as training camp reports highlight strong chemistry and highlight-reel connections in red-zone and downfield work. Jefferson maintains his status as the offense's primary target under Kevin O'Connell, with analysts projecting a return toward 100-plus receptions and 1,300-plus yards if Murray stabilizes the passing attack. Additional factors include a favorable early schedule matchup against Green Bay, where Jefferson has historically posted strong numbers, and an improved offensive line outlook supporting sustained drives. Uncertainties around Murray's long-term fit and overall team scoring pace remain key variables for total receptions.
