Matthew Stafford enters the 2026 regular season coming off an MVP campaign with a career-high 46 passing touchdowns in 2025, yet the 38-year-old Rams quarterback opened 2026 with zero scores and one interception on just 25 attempts in a Week 1 loss to the 49ers. His modified training camp workload reflected ongoing health management after prior back issues, while the offense relies on Puka Nacua, Davante Adams, and Sean McVay’s scheme for red-zone efficiency. Nacua’s hip injury leaves him questionable for Week 2 against the Giants, and the upcoming schedule includes road tests at Denver and Philadelphia plus a home date with Buffalo. Trader consensus reflects expectations of volume tempered by age-related touchdown regression from his outlier 2025 rate.
