Chris Olave enters the 2026 NFL season as the New Orleans Saints' clear lead wide receiver after posting career highs of 100 receptions, 1,163 yards, and nine touchdowns in 16 games during 2025. He built strong late-season chemistry with quarterback Tyler Shough and signed a major contract extension. A blood clot issue sidelined him for Week 18 last year, but he received full medical clearance heading into training camp. Rookie first-rounder Jordyn Tyson adds target competition once healthy from a hamstring injury that placed him on injured reserve to open the year, potentially limiting Olave's early volume. The Saints' improved passing attack and favorable Week 1 matchup against a depleted Detroit secondary could support sustained target share, though Olave's concussion history remains a durability factor over the full 17-game schedule.
