Emeka Egbuka enters his second NFL season as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' clear lead wide receiver following Mike Evans' departure to San Francisco. The 2025 first-round pick posted 63 receptions for 938 yards and six touchdowns as a rookie, with five scores coming in his first five games before injuries (hamstring and toe) curtailed production and target share later. Entering 2026 fully healthy after a toe sprain limited preseason work, Egbuka has taken full practices and is expected to play Week 1 against Cincinnati. Baker Mayfield's passing game faces reduced competition early with Chris Godwin's injury history and Jalen McMillan's neck issue, positioning Egbuka for elevated red-zone looks, though Godwin, McMillan, and rookie Ted Hurst remain factors in the target distribution.
