Recent polling showing James Talarico holding a narrow statewide lead or statistical tie with Ken Paxton has reinforced expectations that Democratic gains in suburban areas will extend to Collin County. Talarico’s fundraising edge, cross-aisle endorsements from some Republican figures, and emphasis on suburban turnout have supported trader consensus around his 66.5% implied probability of carrying the county. Paxton’s 34% reflects his stronger rural base and Republican primary consolidation but highlights ongoing challenges consolidating suburban voters in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro. The race remains sensitive to late shifts in independent and suburban turnout ahead of the November general election.
