DK Metcalf enters the 2026 season as the Pittsburgh Steelers’ clear top wide receiver in a Mike McCarthy offense featuring Aaron Rodgers at quarterback. After posting career lows of 59 receptions and 850 yards in 15 games during his first year in Pittsburgh, Metcalf drew a team-high 10 targets in Week 1 against Atlanta and converted just four into 40 yards, highlighting volume but continued efficiency concerns. Rodgers has repeatedly stated plans to “feed” Metcalf as the No. 1 option, while the addition of Michael Pittman Jr. and rookie Germie Bernard increases target competition. Metcalf’s training-camp injury has resolved, positioning him for a full workload in a scheme expected to emphasize movement and downfield opportunities, though the Week 2 road matchup against New England’s secondary presents an early test.
