Jonathan Taylor enters the 2026 NFL season as the clear lead back for the Indianapolis Colts following a full 17-game 2025 campaign that produced 1,585 rushing yards and a league-leading 18 rushing touchdowns. His recent two-year, $44 million extension through 2028 reinforces his status as the featured option in a backfield with limited proven depth behind him. The return of quarterback Daniel Jones from injury is expected to stabilize the offense and create more consistent red-zone opportunities compared to the late-season decline in 2025. Consensus projections anticipate another high-volume workload exceeding 300 carries, positioning Taylor for double-digit rushing scores again while highlighting the role of offensive line play, goal-line usage, and overall team scoring efficiency in determining the final total.
