Heightened Democratic enthusiasm driven by opposition to the Trump administration, combined with Republican base mobilization efforts, sustains trader expectations for elevated 2026 House turnout near 115-130 million votes. Recent special election overperformance by Democrats, a generic ballot advantage around D+6, and expanded mail and early voting access have boosted participation signals, while GOP strategies target 2024 Trump voters through refined outreach in competitive districts. Historical midterm baselines of roughly 100-115 million votes provide a floor, but second-term dynamics, economic concerns, and youth registration trends support the market's clustering in higher ranges. Close probabilities among leading bins reflect uncertainty over whether opposition energy or targeted Republican turnout operations will determine the final total, with late-cycle polling and primary results likely to influence shifts before November.
